I have a weird relationship with low carbs. Let’s start with this – I’m fat. Big fat, fatty. My dad used to be fat too. Then he started eating low carb and lost weight. A lot of weight. And he started doing it like 15 years ago. I wanted to drop some weight too but it’s hard to get a 13 year old to stop eating bread and sugar and potatoes so I got fatter and he didn’t. But I always knew if I wanted to lose weight, I just had to do low carb. So some time around the age of 27 I grew up and started low carb and did really good. I lost like 60 pounds. Then I stopped. Because I’m dumb.
Now I’m back on it and places like The Low Carb Grocery really help the process along. Actually, it doesn’t help me as much as it will normal people. You see, I have no problem with eating the same thing constantly. Bacon and eggs twice a day for six days in a row. Yep, no problem. Nothing but bunless cheese burgers for a week. Sure, bring it on. My dad is the same way. But most people can’t do that. Most people get burnt out on the same food every day fairly quickly. For those people, The Low Carb Grocery is the way to go. Most places don’t have grocery stores specific to low carb diets. They might (MIGHT) have a small low carb section but for the most part you’re stuck with the standard low carb fare. That’s good most of the time for most people but every once in a while you want something different. You want low carb pita pockets or noodles or syrup or whatever else. Unless you live in a big city, this isn’t an option. The Low Carb Grocery has all that stuff. They even have non-food items that help you with a low carb diet such as CBlock, a pill that let’s you eat carbs. Perfect for times that you’ve been invited to someones house for dinner and you don’t want to be “that person” who brings their own diet-specific food to dinner or walks away with a pile of hamburgers and chicken but no buns or macaroni salad at the family BBQ. And don’t even get me started on the disparate treatment of vegetarians and low carbers!
Shipping is based on what you get and where you are. If you’re trying to do a whole grocery here, you’re gonna break the bank but a box of cookies and a bottle of CBlock isn’t gonna be too bad.
