(Xbox 360) Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Just $3.74!

(Xbox 360) Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Just $3.74!

Got an Xbox 360? Then you’re going to want to bust it out for this oldie because it’s a steal of a deal! For a limited time, you can get Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for just $3.74 for Xbox 360.

Oh the memories! Vice City is actually the very first GTA game I ever played and since it right away hooked me, I just had to get San Andreas as well once it came out. Despite being widely criticized for its gangster elements, it is nevertheless a very fun game.

Searching for its original release date, I actually found that Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas first came out on October 26th 2004, which definitely explains the price drop as it has been nearly a decade!

If you’re wondering why the heck you should play a decade-old game, the answer it simple: it’s fun, addicting and I’m sure that you’ll forget all about how old it is. Graphically, it may not be as visually impressive as the latest instalment to have been released, GTA V, but at the time of its release, it was actually widely praised for its visuals. Plus, if you’re a GTA fan and have already finished GTA V, then it might be fun to either re-visit the oldies or play them for the very first time if you haven’t already just to get a handle on the story line.

Although there aren’t any in stock at Amazon, Future Shop is selling this version of the popular game for $19.99. There are plenty of immensely positive reviews online but here’s one I took from Future Shop’s site:

What can I say This game is amazing. From gameplay, graphics and story, this game is unbelievable. The offline co-op game will take you a long time if you want to get 100 completion like I did . I’ve put in 94 hours offline alone. lol. This game is addictive.

However, if you’re excited about the hot coffee mod, then you may be disappointed to know that a patch disabled the script that allowed users to access it. If you haven’t heard about the hot coffee mod, a quick search in Google will tell you all about it as it might not be the most appropriate GTA fact to mention here! (Xbox 360) Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Just $3.74!

Xbox Live Marketplace Canada: Get 50% To 75% Off Select Xbox 360 Games

Xbox Live Marketplace Canada: Get 50% To 75% Off Select Xbox 360 Games

This is an intriguing deal that Xbox 360 owners can check out. When you log into the Xbox Live Marketplace, you can now save anywhere from 50% to 75% on a handful of great games! You won’t have to worry about paying shipping either, since you’ll be able to download these games on to your Xbox 360 system and play them soon after your purchase! All I can say to that is the following: whooo!

Here are the games that are included in this enticing Xbox Marketplace sale:  Alice: Madness Returns ($4.99 – was $19.99), Dead Space ($5.09 – was $14.99), Dead Island: Riptide ($9.99 – was $19.99), Dead Space 3 ($4.99 – was $19.99), and Mass Effect ($4.99 – was $19.99).

This sale doesn’t seem like something that’s being promoted too much by Microsoft, so click on the individual game links above to check out each deal. Get them quickly, because they just might go back to regular price soon!

These are some very familiar games – they certainly aren’t any discounted indy games! Mass Effect has had quite the following for a while as well, so it’s quite the popular game. If you’re looking for a way to enjoy some great titles on your Xbox 360 for a cheap price, then you should download these games.

If you were to purchase Mass Effect from Best Buy, it would cost you $19.99. These titles might be older, but they’re still great if you haven’t tried them before. I’ve included a brief review of Mass Effect from a satisfied Amazon customer below:

This review is short but sweet. Get Mass Effect now if : you remotely enjoy RPG’s AND/OR are a science fiction aficionado. Enough said.

These games may not be discounted for very long, so if you want them, get them as soon as you can. I hope you’re all enjoying your weekend!

Best Buy Canada: Free $70 Gift Card With 5 Game Pre Orders

Stock up on games and save with Best Buy’s newest promotion. By pre-ordered five games right now, you will also receive a $70 e-gift card for free. Games for pre-order are available for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, Wii or PC.

Now at first glance I know you might be thinking that pre-ordering five games in one shot is a lot, but if you plan on getting these games anyways once they come out, then you might as well take advantage of this offer now. The only difference is that the savings aren’t instantaneous. Once you take advantage of this promotion, the $70 e-gift card will be sent by e-mail on December 22nd.

Luckily, not all games available for pre-order are $70 either. Just Dance 2015 for Wii and Wii U, for instance, is $39.99. • Discount: free Destiny eGuide
  • Expiry: Unknown

Destiny was released earlier today on September 9th 2014 and yet overwhelmingly positive reviews have already begun pouring in. Mostly praising the graphics and the beauty of the created world, reviewers have also noted the epicness of the story behind this mega-game. Why mega? Because it’s an action role-playing game that comes very close to being a MMO (massively multiplayer online game) but is instead beginning to be referred to as a shared-world shooter game instead as instead of hordes of players playing on the same servers, as in the case of World of Warcraft, for instance, players are instead matched with other players. This matchmaking does then allow for more interactivity within the game, though definitely not on the same scale as in WoW or SWOTR.

The Destiny eGuide available on Prima Games is definitely pretty cool as it’s beyond detailed. The main topics include the: field manual, the tower, earth, moon, venus, mars, armory, crucible codex, and trophies & achievements. Most of these further divide into subcategories as well. Whether this is a good thing or not is for you to decide but it has also been written in such a way that it will give away no spoilers of the games content. It is also mainly devoted to the PVE (player versus environment) but it does also cover some PVP (player versus player) aspects in the process.

Every facet of the Destiny eGuide is filled with interesting details about the game. In fact, I discovered that the class that you choose for your character will have a massive impact upon the storyline, so choose carefully! Prima Games Freebie: Free Destiny eGuide ($10 Value)

If you haven’t gotten it yet, you can get Destiny for either PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 or Xbox One for just $69 at Amazon.ca (shipping will also be free as most orders over $25 are shipped for free).

Future Shop: Xbox One + Kinect + Watch Dogs LE + Forza 5 Was $650, Now $500! (Expired)

Posted by on September 2, 2014 at 12:00 PM

Future Shop: Xbox One + Kinect + Watch Dogs LE + Forza 5 Was $650, Now $500! (Expired)

Are you peering into the figurative window of next generation video game consoles? If you’ve been waiting for the right opportunity to “take the plunge” and start enjoying the latest generation of Xbox, this deal may be a perfect fit for you. At Future Shop, they’re offering a tantalizing Xbox One package, valued at $650, for only $500 - plus free shipping! Quantities are limited, so if you’re interested, I’d highly recommend purchasing this as soon as you can.

This great package includes the Xbox One system, Kinect sensor, the limited edition version of Watch Dogs, and a download code for Forza Motorsport 5, all for just $500! Getting an Xbox One with these extras at this price is really something special. The system (with the Kinect sensor and Forza 5) typically retails for $500 at Future Shop and Best Buy. Watch Dogs LE usually sells for $150 at Future Shop, but it’s currently on sale for $100.

I’ll admit it – I was very close to purchasing an Xbox One when it originally launched back in November. I really enjoy playing my Xbox 360 (when I have the time to kick back and relax a bit, of course), and I figured that the next generation of Xbox would be just as great. However, what made me rethink my decision was the fact that the system isn’t backwards compatible with Xbox 360 games. Also, their catalogue of available games wasn’t deep enough for me (as is the case with most video game consoles around their launch date).

Watch Dogs has been one of the most anticipated games of the year, and this package from Future Shop will easily please any gamer – especially if it ends up being a Christmas present! I’ve included a brief review of Watch Dogs from Shacknews below:

Watch Dogs could’ve easily been Grand Theft Auto with tech equipment. But Ubisoft Montreal has managed to flesh out this experience as something more, making fantastic use of the technology and applying it just right to deliver a remarkably deep experience.

Is the time right to buy an Xbox One? It really depends on your gaming preferences. If you’re a Mario fan, stick with the Wii U, since it has a plethora of great games on the horizon, like Super Smash Bros. U. If you prefer a more serious gaming experience, then the Xbox One may be the right choice for you. Plus, Halo 5 is coming out next year, and I’m sure that Microsoft has plenty of other surprises up its sleeve.

Happy gaming, Bargainmoosers! Quantities are limited, so get this deal while you still can!

WagJag Canada: $149 For An Xbox 360 Console & Free Shipping ($339 Value)

WagJag Canada: $149 For An Xbox 360 Console & Free Shipping ($339 Value)

I love it when WagJag Canada offers electronic deals and right now they have a great one.  Get a refurbished Xbox 360 Console for just $149.

Here is what you will get with this deal:

  • Xbox 360 S Console with 250GB hard drive
  • Xbox 360 wireless controller
  • Xbox 360 headset
  • Xbox 360 composite A/V cable (for using your Xbox with standard definition TVs)
  • 30-day exchange warranty on defective products

If you were to price compare this unit to other stores such as Best Buy, you will see that this is the best all-around price offered. I love the fact that the Xbox 360 can play games, and you can also use the wifi on it to go on Youtube, and even store your favourite movies, music, TV shows and pictures on it as well.  It is so much more than just a gaming system.

You will only be able to buy one per person, but you can buy extra as gifts for others.  Additionally, you will not have to pay a cent for the cost of shipping or taxes, so the final cost with no hidden charges is just $149.

Microsoft Store Canada: Pre-order xBox One + Titanfall + 1 Month xBox Live Gold For $499

Posted by on February 24, 2014 at 3:30 PM

Microsoft Store Canada: Pre order xBox One + Titanfall + 1 Month xBox Live Gold For $499

Get the xBox One, Titanfall and a month of xBox Live Gold for $499 from Microsoft!

The price of this item isn’t a sale, per se. The bundle’s regular price is $499. The deal here is that they are still selling the xBox One by itself for the same price. The game that comes with it, Titanfall, retails for $59.99.  If you were planning on getting this game along with an xBox One (I can’t imagine anyone who wouldn’t get this game) then you’re saving about $60. If you weren’t planning on getting it, well, I can’t help you. You’re broken.

You also get a month of xBox Live Gold, which you need in order to play Titanfall. Titanfall is a mix of a single player story mode game and an online game. Basically you are playing through story mode but the other people in your team are online, not computer controlled. And it has giant mechs. I love giant mechs.

Microsoft made a point of mentioning the Titanfall packaging. Not a special Titanfall skin over the console itself or the controller. No, no. The box. I don’t know why in the world they would mention that but some marketing goon thought it was important so I figured I’d mention it here too. Maybe it’ll sell more consoles. I dunno.

This is a pre-order so it doesn’t come out until 11th March 2014. Shipping is free and you don’t have to get it at Microsoft Store. Other places like Amazon Canada  have it available too.

Microsoft Store: Pre-Order Titanfall and Get a Free $10 xBox Gift Card

Posted by on February 18, 2014 at 5:30 PM

Microsoft Store: Pre Order Titanfall and Get a Free $10 xBox Gift Card

Get Titanfall from the Microsoft Store and get a free $10 xBox gift card!

I love mech games. MechWarrior, of course, is the big guns in the world of mech games but there are others like FrontMission and now Titanfall. Titanfall is interesting in that it is essentially an online-only FPS that plays like a single player campaign game. I don’t know how it is going to work in practice but people seem to dig the beta and if the videos on Titanfall’s YouTube Channel are any indication, it looks like they’ve managed it very well.

If you pre-order Titanfall from the Microsoft Store before March 9th, you will get a $10 xBox gift card. You can use it to get the inevitable DLC when it comes out or, if you aren’t up for the DLC thing, you can pick up an indy game or two with the $10. Or you can just hang on to it and pick up some other game another time.

The gift card and game are both digital so no shipping or waiting is required.

EBGames Canada: Get 30% More Value When You Trade Slim PS3/xBox/WiiU Towards PS4/xBox One

Posted by on August 21, 2013 at 12:00 PM

EBGames Canada: Get 30% More Value When You Trade Slim PS3/xBox/WiiU Towards PS4/xBox One

Optimize your trade when you trade out your old console for a new pre-order at EB Games Canada.

Is your old console (or new in the case of the WiiU) collecting dust? I know if my PS3 wasn’t my (and perhaps more importantly, my son’s) Netflix machine I’d definitely be doing this. I almost wish I had bought an xBox 360 or WiiU just to be able to trade it in. I don’t buy a lot of games and, at this point, I’ve bought pretty much everything I’m going to, so if I traded it in, it wouldn’t be a big deal. I guess I do still need to pick up Assassin’s Creed 3, so I’d miss playing that. What I’m saying is that, at this point in the console’s life cycle, if you aren’t playing it a lot, it won’t hurt too much to give it up. The PS4 is coming out on November 15th and the xBox One has to be somewhere around there, so you aren’t going to have to wait long to get the next-gen gear.

I also suspect there are a lot of people out there who have a PS3, an xBox 360 and maybe even a WiiU. You could trade them all in for tons of credit, or just pick one or two. You can live with one console, right? Right. The value of your console depends on what you have with it. A bigger hard drive gets you more credit and each console has a different value. I also suspect, and I’m not 100% sure, that the value is different based on where you are. Whatever your old Slim PS3, Slim xBox 360 or WiiU is worth, you get an extra 30% on top of its value when you trade it in towards a PS4 or xBox One.

This deal is available in store only.

Future Shop Canada: Xbox Days

Future Shop Canada: Xbox Days

I nearly missed Xbox days at Future Shop which would have been a crying shame. Today and tomorrow you can still enjoy Xbox Days with great savings on Xbox accessories and console bundles.

If you need a new Xbox this bundle certainly is appetizing: the Xbox 360 250GB Spring Value Bundle With Gears Of War: Judgment & Halo 4 is on sale from $399.99 down to $299.99. You also get a FREE digital copy of Halo Reach with your purchase of this Xbox 360 bundle. I like added bonuses.

Need an extra controller? That is easy! Future Shop has the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller  on sale for only $39.99, that is $20 off the regular price. Or you could spring for the Microsoft Xbox 360 Essentials Pack which comes with a controller, HDMI cable, remote, and three month Xbox Live Gold Membership. All of this is on sale for $69.99, you save $20.

If you have got a taste for the Xbox Live Gold Membership and found you want more – Future Shop has a 12-Month Xbox LIVE Gold Membership Card on sale for only $39.99, regularly $59.99. That works out to around $3.33 a month to enjoy the benefits of Xbox Live Gold.

Get free shipping on orders of $20 or more.

Pricematters Canada: Xbox 360 Kinect Sensor w/ Kinect Adventures Now $49.99

Want to step up your gaming with Kinect? Check put Pricematters’ deal on the Xbox 360 Kinect Sensor with Kinect Adventures – pay only $49.99 + shipping!

Shipping depends on location.

I price compared with Amazon Canada which has this listed at $149.99 and on sale for $109.83. May I note: huge price difference. Even though Pricematters gives very little (like no) information on the product, it does not appear to be refurbished as they usually are pretty good at saying so. Even if it is refurbished – this is still a really awesome deal. You are paying 1/3rd of the original price and still over 1/2 off the current retail price.

Canadian Freebies: xBox Live Gold Free This Weekend

Canadian Freebies: xBox Live Gold Free This Weekend

For the Canadian long weekend Microsoft is allowing free access to its xBox Live Gold service.

It’s good to be a Canadian on Victoria Day weekend because companies go bat-crap crazy and start pushing out some fantastic deals. This is one of them.

For the uninitiated, xBox Live Gold gives you access to all the cool online content the xBox offers. Online Multiplayer, youtube, VEVO, music, sports, movies, etc.. Just be aware that, while some of the services, such as Youtube, are free, some of them will cost you money to use. Microsoft is giving you free access to them, not free use of them.

FREE Xbox 360 with Kinect When You Activate Two Smartphones at Rogers

FREE Xbox 360 with Kinect When You Activate Two Smartphones at Rogers

This deal comes around different retailers (often BestBuy) every once in a while in one form or another, and always catches my eye. This particular deal is a free Xbox 360 with Kinect from Rogers if you activate two smart phones on select three year contracts. If you only activate one phone on a three year contract, you can get the xBox 360 with Kinect for $149.99.

The phones that seem to be offered are:

  • Nokia Lumia 900
  • HTC One X
  • Samsung Galaxy S II LTE
  • HTC Raider

I feel like I’ve said this before but even I, as a Playstation guy, would spring for this deal if the timing was right. The Xbox for free on its own is a good deal but adding Kinect in there seals it for me.

It should be noted that the advertisement says “Select” voice and data plans. They say it is with any couple or family plan but select could mean anything so watch out. You can check out the deal on the Rogers website or go to the store.

Xbox 360 Deal @ Amazon.ca For $130

Xbox 360 Deal @ Amazon.ca For $130

Amazon.ca has an amazing deal for all the gamers out there – a 4GB Xbox 360 for only $129.97 with free shipping. Regular price is $199.99. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I am not a fan of the Xbox 360 (just because I’m a Playstation fanboy, not because the xBox 360 is bad) but at this price, even I’d buy one.

To price compare, this same model is $199 at The Source, Sears, Best Buy, Future Shop, and Toys R Us. Great price from Amazon!

If you aren’t down with video game systems here are some quick points of interest:

  • 4GB of storage
  • Plays DVDs and lets you access xBox Live and other services such as Netflix (Fees may apply for services)
  • Microsoft Kinect available

Graduation time is right around the corner and this would be a great gift for graduating or as an addition to a dorm room.

The Source Canada: Xbox 360 4GB Console/Kinect Family Bundle $299.99

The Source Canada: Xbox 360 4GB Console/Kinect Family Bundle $299.99

The Source Canada is offering a sweet family bundle right now for a limited time only.  This bundle is on sale for just $299.99.

Here is what you get with this Family Bundle deal:

  • Xbox 360 4 GB console with Active Kinect
  • 3 months Xbox LIVE Gold membership
  • Built in Wi-Fi
  • Kinect Sports game and Kinect Adventures game
  • 1 controller

I did some price comparisons to some other stores and found it at Best buy and EB Games for the same price but they are already sold out. (I don’t think that they included the controller though like The Source does).  The other places I looked (Walmart, Sears, Tiger Direct) had similar bundles but with less games or for more money. This tells me that this bundle is in demand for being sold out so fast and is priced properly to sell. The only place I found it in stock at the several places I looked was The Source Canada.  If you are interested in this gaming bundle, check it out at The Source.
