Game Access Canada: The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct For The Xbox 360 (Used) | Was $50 Now $8 (EXPIRED)

Posted by on October 21, 2014 at 9:30 AM

Game Access Canada: The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct For The Xbox 360 (Used) | Was $50 Now $8 (EXPIRED)

Good morning! Today’s deal at Game Access Canada is an enticing one for Walking Dead fans and Xbox 360 owners – you can now get a used copy of The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct for the Xbox 360 for just $7.72 (plus $3 shipping). You can’t go wrong for that price, especially when the game normally retails for $49.99!

If you’ve ever wanted to dive into a virtual Walking Dead world, then this is your chance. The publisher behind The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is Activision, who is behind the original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater games for the PS1 and N64 (remember how awesome they were before they released like 20 versions of the game, people). Activision has actually been around since the Atari 2600 was released, and is also known for their runaway hit, Pitfall!

This would be a great gift for Walking Dead fans. Even if the game may not be the best in the world, it’s always fun for fans to enjoy a video game based on movies or TV shows that they enjoy (unless it’s Beetlejuice for the original Nintendo… that game was just brutally hard). With a plot involving zombies, what could be more fun?

If you were to purchase The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct for the Xbox 360 at Amazon, it would cost you $28.19. I’ve included a snippet of a review of this Walking Dead game that was posted on Metacritic below:

The first person combat is fun, the storytelling is decent at best and the game has a somewhat unique art style to it. Visually it isn’t really all that impressive but it captures the atmosphere of a post-apocalyptic, zombie ridden world quite well and, well it has that ”Walking Dead” feel overall. All in all it’s a great package.

If you love The Walking Dead, then you should consider checking out this game. Happy gaming, Bargainmoosers!

Game Access Canada: Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3 For The Xbox 360 (Used) | Was $30 Now $8 (EXPIRED)

Posted by on October 13, 2014 at 9:30 AM

Game Access Canada: Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3 For The Xbox 360 (Used) | Was $30 Now $8 (EXPIRED)

Looking for another Call Of Duty game to sink your teeth into? Today’s deal of the day at Game Access is for a used copy of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 for the Xbox 360, which you can purchase for $7.72 (plus $3 shipping). The regular price of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 for the Xbox 360 is $29.99, so this is a pretty sweet deal! Just click on the link below to learn more about this deal.

Online multiplayer is one of the most popular features in Call Of Duty games. These games are incredibly popular nowadays, and they had their roots on the PC and eventually ended up on consoles like the Playstation 2, Xbox, and Gamecube systems more than a decade ago. It’s crazy to think that there are currently 13 instalments in this familiar series of video games.

Finding an affordable Xbox 360 game isn’t too hard to do nowadays, especially when many retail locations are having some great sales on them on a regular basis. After all, the newer generation consoles like the PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Wii U are getting most of the glory nowadays, but gamers still love their PS3 and Xbox 360 systems – especially since the PS4 and Xbox One currently aren’t backwards compatible and won’t play these older games (the Wii U plays original Wii games, thankfully).

This is a pretty great deal! You just can’t go wrong for $7.72 (plus $3 shipping). If you were to purchase Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 for the Xbox 360 at Best Buy or Future Shop, it would cost you $29.99. I’ve included a snippet of a review of this game from a satisfied Best Buy customer below:

I could never put this game down. The campaign was amazing and the special ops gave you something to do once the campaign finished. Special ops has waves of troops in each map with different difficulties and extra side missions. Multiplayer offers you even more as you rank up, giving you prestige modes.

I hope you all enjoy your Thanksgiving Monday, my fellow Bargainmoosers!

Now at first glance I know you might be thinking that pre-ordering five games in one shot is a lot, but if you plan on getting these games anyways once they come out, then you might as well take advantage of this offer now. The only difference is that the savings aren’t instantaneous. Once you take advantage of this promotion, the $70 e-gift card will be sent by e-mail on December 22nd.

Costco Canada: 250GB Xbox 360 Holiday Bundle – Just $280

Posted by on September 23, 2014 at 2:30 PM

Costco Canada: 250GB Xbox 360 Holiday Bundle Just $280

The Xbox 360 2013 holiday bundle is $50 off at Costco but just wait until you hear about everything that it comes with! Originally priced at $329.99, it’s now on sale for just $279.99.

Now, let me start off by mentioning that if you’re only looking to buy the console by itself, then Walmart is currently offering a $129 deal on the 4GB Xbox 360 and it also comes with a bonus $50 Walmart gift card, but, and I can’t stress this enough, it’s only 4GB.

If you’re looking to get an Xbox 360 with more storage, an extra remote, games, an Xbox LIVE subscription and more, then Costco’s deal is better by a long shot as for just $280, it comes with all of the following:

  • Xbox 360 console with 250GB
  • 2 black wireless remote controllers
  • 3 games: Halo 4, Tomb Raider & Forzia Horizon
  • 1-year subscription to Xbox LIVE Gold + 30 extra days
  • Play & charge kit
  • Battery pack

While you were receive an actual physical copy of Halo 4, the other two games, Tomb Raider and Forza Horizon come in the form of digital downloads, which means that you will more than likely be given unique codes to enter online. Since this Xbox 360 also comes with built-in wi-fi, you will be able to seamlessly subscribe to Xbox LIVE.

Although most Xbox 360 consoles automatically come with a 30-day suscription to Xbox LIVE, the fact that Costco’s deal comes with a full year on top of the usual free month is pretty awesome as an Xbox LIVE memberships has a number of awesome perks like: access to free games, special member discounts from 50% all the way to 75% off select games, etc. Plus, you can even video chat and play games online with friends and family.

Just to give you an idea, I tallied up how much all of these would cost individually if you were to take advantage of Walmart’s current deal with the free $50 gift card. This is what I came up with: $129 console + $70 remote + $40 Halo 4 + $20 Tomb Raider = $260. For the rest, I had to look on Amazon as Walmart didn’t have it: $30 Forza Horizon + $50 Xbox LIVE membership = $80. In total, all of these come up to $340, which is actually more expensive than Costco’s original retail price!

In fact, the Microsoft Store is selling a smaller version of this bundle for more expensive as well. At $300, their Xbox 360 holiday bundle comes with: 250GB Xbox 360 console, 1 wireless remote, Halo 4, Tomb Raider and 1 month of Xbox Live Gold.

Costco also offers free shipping.

Amazon Canada: Xbox 360 250GB Holiday Value Bundle Only $150

Posted by on September 18, 2014 at 2:00 PM

Amazon Canada: Xbox 360 250GB Holiday Value Bundle Only $150

Start shopping for Christmas right now with this hot deal! I don’t know how long it will last so don’t wait until you get home to ask your husband. Right now Amazon is offering the Xbox 360 250GB holiday bundle for only $149.99, with a regular price of $299.99.

This deal is hot! I’m going to do a few price comparisons for you to show you how hot it really is. Other stores selling this exact bundle include: Staples for $249.99; Dell for $299.99; sold out at Walmart; $299.99 at Microsoft Store and Newegg has it for $249.99. Other stores have it, but no one can compete with the price it is at The Source. The only exception I found was The Source, but they are sold out online.

What this package includes is the Xbox 360 E console with a 250GB hard drive, built-in wi-fi, the wireless controller, one month of Xbox Live Gold plus the games Halo 4 and Tomb Raider.

As another comparison of price, The Source is selling just the console itself for the exact same price.

While my kids were gifted a WiiU last year and love it, there is also something about Xbox that they love. I think the games are a bit old for them, but that’s ok, because my husband loves these shoot-em-up games and my oldest can play it when he is a little older. This price is really provoking me to get them this as their larger present for Christmas and it is quite the difference from the few hundred that was paid for their video game console last year.

I don’t have to bore you with reviews, as if you are a gamer, you’ll know everything you need to know about Xbox and the included games.

Shipping is going to be free on this item as well.

If it tells you it is sold out or a different price, continue to check back as it seems it goes back and forth on price.

(Xbox 360) Dead Island: Riptide Rigor Mortis Edition $20 Final Clearance @ Best Buy Canada

Posted by on September 13, 2014 at 9:00 PM

(Xbox 360) Dead Island: Riptide Rigor Mortis Edition $20 Final Clearance @ Best Buy Canada

Just this morning Ivan blogged about a $0.97 deal on Grand Theft Auto trilogy for Mac at Best Buy but I have found another deal worthy of your attention. While supplies last undoubtedly, you can pick up Dead Island: Riptide Rigor Mortis edition for Xbox 360 for just $19.97. It’s on final clearance, so once it’s gone, you won’t be able to take advantage of this low price anymore!

I have to admit that this is the first I have ever heard of this popular game but for those of you in the dark about it as well, it’s essentially an RPG game that features an open world infested with zombies. Unlike the initial edition of this game, this one features a first-person perspective, extra game play mechanics along with new characters, vehicles and much more. For just $20, it’s definitely well worth the price, especially since the game comes in a travel suitcase packaging as well as the following collectibles:

  • Zombie hula girl bobble figurine
  • Severed hand bottle opener/ fridge magnet
  • Bungalow key with wooden tag
  • Box art & digital strategy map

Although there are no reviews for it on Best Buy’s site, I did find the following 5 stars out of 5 stars review at Future Shop, where you can also get it for the same price right now:

This is a very good game… Great graphics, audio performance (Especially for the Xbox), and story. They put a lot of work into this game with the culture of the Island, audio unlike many others As for the collectibles- If you are a Dead Island fan or know you’ll love this game and have the spare money… Go for it, the items are very detailed and I found them a lot better than other collector’s edition’s items (Like Black Ops, Black Ops 2, etc.)

On Amazon, this same edition of the game is actually double the price at $39.09 and even then it’s on sale from a regular price of $79.99. It also has over 20 reviews with a general consensus of close to 5 stars out of 5! I also found this game for $79.99 at the Microsoft Store.

Shipping is only free on orders over $25, so you can either pay $1.99 for shipping or better yet, grab a filler item like a $5 DVD. In fact, I found a slew of great titles at just $4.99 like Jerry Maguire, 50 First Dates (special edition), Blind Side, Inception, and countless others. You could even pre-order a special version of Godzilla on sale for just $18.99 as it comes with a bonus disc.

WagJag Canada: $149 For An Xbox 360 Console & Free Shipping ($339 Value)

WagJag Canada: $149 For An Xbox 360 Console & Free Shipping ($339 Value)

I love it when WagJag Canada offers electronic deals and right now they have a great one.  Get a refurbished Xbox 360 Console for just $149.

Here is what you will get with this deal:

  • Xbox 360 S Console with 250GB hard drive
  • Xbox 360 wireless controller
  • Xbox 360 headset
  • Xbox 360 composite A/V cable (for using your Xbox with standard definition TVs)
  • 30-day exchange warranty on defective products

If you were to price compare this unit to other stores such as Best Buy, you will see that this is the best all-around price offered. I love the fact that the Xbox 360 can play games, and you can also use the wifi on it to go on Youtube, and even store your favourite movies, music, TV shows and pictures on it as well.  It is so much more than just a gaming system.

You will only be able to buy one per person, but you can buy extra as gifts for others.  Additionally, you will not have to pay a cent for the cost of shipping or taxes, so the final cost with no hidden charges is just $149.

WagJag Canada: Xbox 360 Only $175

WagJag Canada: Xbox 360 Only $175

If you’ve been waiting for the price of an Xbox 360 to go down, well it has once again. The last time I blogged it, it was $199 and now it is only $175 or $225 depending on what option you choose.

There are two options for this deal. The first is $175 and includes:

  • Xbox 360 console with 250 GB hard drive
  • One wireless controller, headset and composite A/V cable
  • One year’s manufacturer warranty

The second option is $225 and includes all of the above plus:

  • Xbox Kinect and the game Kinect Adventures

My kids were recently gifted a Wii U, which they love, but I have heard from friends that kids with both will play the Xbox more. Since my kids are mostly little, I decided the Wii U was more family friendly for now and maybe if the price keeps going down for Xbox 360, we’ll get one of those too.

What’s cool about it too is that you can use it to store movies and other date right on the console, which you can’t with the Wii. You can also stream movies, which is another feature you can’t do with Wii U.

The shipping is also included on this deal, so the price you see is the price you pay.

Future Shop Canada: Grand Theft Auto V (PS3/xBox 360) For $40 (Save $20)

Thieve Autos in a grand fashion at FutureShop for only $39.99!

Is this a good game? I don’t know, I haven’t played it yet. I dig the other GTA games, so I have to imagine that this is better. If we go just by the number of Guinness World Records it has broken, it’s the best game ever. Here’s why:

  • Best-selling action-adventure video game in 24 hours
  • Best-selling video game in 24 hours
  • Fastest entertainment property to gross $1 billion
  • Fastest video game to gross $1 billion
  • Highest grossing video game in 24 hours
  • Highest revenue generated by an entertainment product in 24 hours
  • Most viewed trailer for an action-adventure video game

Not too shabby, right? By all reports this is a great game, and the online content is supposed to be pretty awesome, too. It’s the first main series entry in seven years, so if you’ve been waiting like millions of others have, here is your chance to get it for $20 off the regular price of $59.99. That’s only $39.99. This is also a great gift idea for the car stealing maniac in your life.

Since this is over the $20 shipping threshold, it also gets free shipping!

Future Shop Canada: Battlefield, Call of Duty Or Assassin’s Creed Games Free With Any PS3/xBox 360/Wii U Game Trade-In

Future Shop Canada: Battlefield, Call of Duty Or Assassins Creed Games Free With Any PS3/xBox 360/Wii U Game Trade In

Hold on to your butts, people, FutureShop is putting on a big one! This is straight up free video games just for trading in any PS3, xBox 360 or Wii U game. This deal is in-store only.

This seems like a lie doesn’t it? Well, I heard about it in the Financial Post and even their readers were saying that there is no way this is true, so much so that the Corporate Communications Manager of FutureShop tweeted to say that this is true. Crazy, am I right?

You aren’t getting junky games. You’re getting three of the biggest releases of the year with a simple trade-in. Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, Call of Duty: Ghost or Battlefield 4: they cost nothing, you just need to go to the store and trade in any of your games. There is a limit of one per customer, per day. There are some other restrictions too, so read the whole post I linked you to up there. You better believe that my wife and I are going to be there Saturday and Sunday picking up copies of these. I don’t even want them, I just want to flip them on Kijiji for $40 later on. If I never sell them, I didn’t really lose anything.

The deal starts on the 9th and goes until the 11th. I guess this is also valid at Best Buy, but I haven’t been able to confirm.

WagJag Canada: Xbox 360 With Kinect & 2 Games Only $199

Posted by on September 9, 2013 at 3:00 PM

WagJag Canada: Xbox 360 With Kinect & 2 Games Only $199

WagJag Canada has a great deal on an Xbox 360 with Kinect and two games, now only $199, with a value of $338. Shipping is also included, which is a bonus.

My kids think they are deprived because they are the only kids they know who don’t have some form of gaming system. They have LeapPads, but my oldest rarely uses his now. We had a Wii, but it got broken (what a shocker in my house!), so now we only have the computer or my husband or my smartphones. Thinking about Christmas we are debating getting an iPad, some other kind of tablet or a gaming system for the kids. The first two seem the most breakable, and this Xbox deal is a good one.

Price comparing, the Xbox with Kinect on its own goes for about $250. Add the two games and you’ve gone up to at least $300 in value, so this is a great package deal.

Your package includes Kinect Disneyland Adventures game and the Kinect Adventures game plus one wireless controller with Kinect. There is also built-in wifi and ethernet connections. You can watch HD movies and stream TV with Xbox Live. Your item will ship to you about two to three weeks after deal end, and there is a limit of one per person. Simply buy the deal and wait for your shipment.

Microsoft Canada: Buy an Xbox 360 Game Now, Trade it in to Get the Xbox One Version for Only $10! (In Store)

Posted by on September 5, 2013 at 11:00 AM

Microsoft Canada: Buy an Xbox 360 Game Now, Trade it in to Get the Xbox One Version for Only $10! (In Store)

Don’t want to wait until November 22 to get that sweet, sweet game for Xbox One, but don’t want to waste money on games for the Xbox 360? Microsoft Canada has a solution.

First thing I want to point out is that this is only available if you can make it in to a physical Microsoft store, and there are not a lot of them. The few they do have are in big, populated areas, but I figured I’d put the deal up here anyway. I know a lot of people might be excluded from this deal, but a lot of people live in these cities too. There are two locations in Toronto, one in Vancouver and one in Burnaby. They are building one in the West Edmonton Mall and a second in Burnaby. If you can’t make it to one of these places, I’m sorry, you’re out of luck.

I think we can all agree (because gamers are notorious for agreeing on the internet) that Microsoft messed up the launch of the Xbox One. I’ve been watching E3 for a long time and I’ve never seen a crowd lose it over an announcement as much as they did over the PS4. At that moment, the xBone was born and Microsoft started backpedaling.

One of the things they are doing to dig out of the hole they have created for themselves is this deal. You buy an Xbox 360 game now and bring it in, with your receipt, to a physical Microsoft Store and trade it in for the Xbox One version for only $10. It’s an amazing deal and I hope someone at Playstation decides to do this too!

It’s only available on certain big title games. The games are:

  • Battlefield 4
  • Madden NFL 25
  • Need for Speed Rivals
  • Call of Duty: Ghosts
  • NBA2K14
  • FIFA 14
  • Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag

These are all big name games that are going to be murder to wait for!

Amazon Canada: Bioshock Infinite (PC/PS3/xBox 360) For $39.99 (Save $20)

Posted by on August 13, 2013 at 4:00 PM

Amazon Canada: Bioshock Infinite (PC/PS3/xBox 360) For $39.99 (Save $20)

Bioshock: Infinite is one of the most popular games to come out this year, and right now it’s yours for $20 less, from Amazon Canada!

People lost their minds over this game. People lose their minds over the Bioshock series in general, but Bioshock: Infinite seems to have really taken off. On Metacritic it has a 94/100 from professional reviewers, with 68 positive reviews and no mixed or negative reviews. The users are a bit harder on it with an 84/100. Still, not too shabby. A lot of the negative player reviews are 0/100 or 10/100 which, to me, means you thought you were getting a My Little Pony game and accidentally got this, or you’re just being hateful. Most people agree that this game is great, so go for it and ignore all the hateful reviewers.

The game is normally $59.99, but Amazon is saving you $20, so you only pay $39.99. I checked around some other places and it looks like everyone else is still selling it for $59.99.

Shipping will be free on this game, since it’s above $25!

Microsoft Canada: 12 Months Of xBox Live Gold Free When You Buy Office 365 Home Premium/University

Microsoft knows you’re gonna work hard with Office 365, so they’re going to make it easy to play hard with a free xBox Live Gold subscription!

Microsoft Office 365 is a pretty neat new take on Office. Traditionally, Office costs hundreds and hundreds of dollars. Now, you pay a periodical subscription fee for the service.

The home premium version costs $99/year and the University edition is $79/four years. With the university version, you need to show a valid student, staff or faculty ID. In some cases even an alumni card has been known to work, but that’s not guaranteed. This gives you a download of the full Office suite and access to any updates that come along during your subscription period. You also get a bunch of storage space to store your documents and access to them from wherever there’s internet available.

When you get this, you also get a free subscription to xBox Live Gold, so you can use all of your xBox 360′s online features from gaming to media consumption. Normally, a twelve month subscription to xBox Live Gold is $59.99, but you get it for free!

Being a digital download means there’s no shipping costs, too.

xBoxOne or PS4? Let me know why in the comments below!
