If DisneyLand is on your bucket list of things to do this year, this deal is great. If you book a minimum of a 5-night WestJet Vacations package to either Disneyland Resort or Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotels (in Orange County – Anaheim), you can get your 5-day tickets for the price of a 3-day.

In case you don’t know what either ticket entails, I’ll tell you. The Park Hopper tickets let you visit both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park on the same day, for a total of five days of visiting. This means you can go to any park on any day or both on the same day all of the five days you are there. The 1-park per day tickets let you visit either one or the other each day over the five days. You must book by the 8th of January for travel before the 31st of May, 2013. There are a few blackout dates: March 25th – April 10th. The deals are only valid on flights within Canada for travel on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

I found flights from Toronto to Vancouver for $189 – round trip came to around $545. From Edmonton to Vancouver (one of my favourite trips) I found flights for $109 – which comes out to $330 round trip.

Flying is very expensive and it is worth waiting for sales to buy tickets. It is also worth moving your flight days to accommodate cheaper flights! Many people prefer to fly on Sundays, but by moving your flight by one day you could save a couple hundred dollars.

The Air Canada coupon code is for today only so use it while you can. However, I have sometimes seen them extend these codes by one day to match the Porter promo, so I will check on this post and update it first thing in the morning. The Westjet promo code is for the rest of today only, too.

The Fly Porter coupon code expires tomorrow so you shouldn’t be in such a rush to use it. I did a test order for a round trip from Toronto to Boston in August. The original price was $465, and when the coupon code was applied, that dropped to $292 – fairly significant!

The One Travel promotional code isn’t huge, but if you’re booking a flight, make sure to price compare through them.

I got a really awesome West Jet deal this week and I thought I would share with you how I got it.  Every Thursday from 1-4pm MT West Jet has exclusive deals on flights and vacation packages.  They call this event Blue Tag Thursdays.  They do have other Blue tag events sometimes throughout the week but every Thursday they always have a sale.

The deals vary from week to week.  Sometimes they are for a specific destination or departure city, sometimes only within Canada, and sometimes just on vacation packages.  I fly at least one time a year to visit family in Ontario and it can be quite pricey.  The only time I buy my families tickets is on a Blue Tag Thursday.  I have been looking for a couple of months now for flights every Thursday but none of the deals fit my criteria.  This past Thursday I finally got my tickets and saved a bundle!

We are a family of 4 (my youngest is free because he is under the age of 2) so we needed 3 tickets.  When we flew round trip from Calgary to Ontario the last time, our 3 tickets cost us $2000.00 everything included. That is about $660 a ticket with everything included. This time our 3 tickets cost us just over $800 everything included using the Blue Tag Thursday deal plus our West Jet Credit Card.  That is a savings of almost $1200. We rarely use our West Jet Credit card (in fact we only use it for flights and that was just a few times) and the points from flying each year added up to the cost of 1 ticket for free.  The Credit Card has an annual fee so unless you fly a couple of times a year I would not suggest it but if you fly more than that it is worth it.

Lastly West Jet often has coupon codes that you can use towards flights including these Blue Tag deals.  I wasn’t lucky enough to have a coupon code that met the city’s destination flight that I needed but you might be luckier.  Check out the bargainmoose coupon forum often for great coupon codes to use.
