Moto 360 Was $280 | Now $180 & Free Canadian Shipping @ Google Store

Moto 360 Was $280 | Now $180 & Free Canadian Shipping @ Google Store

Android users should check out this deal for wearable technology today, over at the Google Store. The Moto 360 was $279.99 but now is only $179.99!

I have to admit, I had no idea the Google Store was selling devices directly in Canada. I usually think about the Google Play Store, and the Google Store has slipped under my radar. To find out what electronics are available to us in Canada through the Google Store, check out this list here. Even better, right now there is an amazing discount for the Moto 360.

The Moto 360 is an ultimate, top of the line smartwatch. This watch has a scratch-free glass screen and a leather band. Use this as a command centre to preview your messages while your Android device stays in your pocket or bag. This device doubles as an activity tracker with a built in pedometer and heart rate monitor. Track your progress directly through Google Fit, and even connect to the Google Play Store to listen to stream tunes while you work out. This watch also connects to Google maps, and can double as a GPS device… from your watch! Seriously, my watch could give turn-by-turn directions? This watch is compatible with Android devices, but sadly is not yet cross-compatible with iOS devices.

Price Comparison

The only price I found that was anywhere close to the Google Store was over at Telus, they have the Moto 360 on sale for $199.99. At Best Buy Canada, this watch is on sale and has dropped to $249.99. Videotron is selling this watch for $279.95. You could also buy this directly from Bell.ca for $279.99. Amazon.ca has this watch for $279.99. This is an amazing price at the Google Store.

Reviews

Reviews overall are positive for this watch. I have looked at a couple other smartwatches, and this one by far has the happiest reviewers. Here is one review over at Best Buy that may just convince you it is time to buy this watch.

OK…I had some inaccurate perceptions of what a smartwatch can do…..no, it’s not a smartphone on your wrist! It’s your phones notification center and a limited controller of your phone… and it does this wonderfully! I like to exercise. With the Moto 360 if a message notification comes in I just flick my wrist… Plus it’s a beautiful comfortable watch I LOVE IT!

Shipping

Google Store is currently offering a free shipping promotion that means this item ships completely free. I was a little concerned about duty costs, as I could not find it stated directly on Google’s website. What they did say is that orders ship via UPS, Purolator or Canada Post according to the Find Your Country’s Estimated Delivery Time drop-down menu further down the page. From reading various Canadian customer accounts around the web, you should not be charged any customs fees at your door. Other buyers have reported that Google absorbs those costs and that there are not duty fees at the door. There is still a chance duty fees could be presented, but I would say your chances are low overall.

I have never ordered from the Google Store directly, but this highly sought after smartwatch is very tempting. Google is generally very on top of things. Even their checkout feels clean without a fuss. This is the lowest price I have seen for this awesome watch yet. My husband would be thrilled to receive this as a Father’s Day gift.

Bargainmoosers, can any of you comment as to how your transaction with the Google Store went?

Cogito Classic Smartwatch Was $150 | Now $50 & Free Shipping @ Best Buy Canada (EXPIRED)

Posted by on May 27, 2015 at 1:00 PM

Cogito Classic Smartwatch Was $150 | Now $50 & Free Shipping @ Best Buy Canada (EXPIRED)

Here is an elegant smartwatch that can keep you connected with simplicity. The Cogito Classic Smartwatch is on sale for today only. Originally $150, you can grab it now for only $49.99. This item also qualifies for completely free shipping.

Do you remember watching shows like the Jetsons and Star Trek? I remember thinking, “Wow! The future will be awesome.” Every day we get one-step closer to that flying car, I hope. While I wait for my spaceship and flying car, I can pass the time playing secret agent with this nifty smartwatch.

The Cognito watch is available in both black and orange. Using Bluetooth, you connect it to either your phone or tablet and then important alerts are pushed to your watch. You can choose what types of messages alert you including text messages, phone calls and other apps. This watch has a classic look, but with the alert system includes a modern edge. Tap the screen to clear alerts. This is perfect for anyone who feels that they spend too much time on their device, but still needs to be connected. Sometimes it can be tough to unplug from our devices completely. A smart watch like this lets us stay connected without being distracted by 55 Facebook game invites.

This watch seems to be available almost everywhere at a much higher price. Costco Canada sells these smart watches for $174.99 each. Walmart.ca has these smart watches for $199.97. Staples Canada is selling this same watch for $199.98. Amazon.ca is selling these watches through a secondary seller for $199.  Chapters Indigo has this watch for $199. The Source also has this watch for $199.99. This price at Best Buy Canada is awesome in comparison.

I had trouble finding reviews anywhere on these watches. Of all the retailers that carry this watch, only Costco had a single consumer review, and that user was unfortunately disappointed with the visibility of the indicators. Here is a nice review over at PC Magazine that will give you the full lowdown on this watch.

This deal is only good for today. If you have been thinking about trying out a smart watch, now is a great time to give it a go at this amazing price. I think this is a great beginner smart watch. Watches also make nice Father’s Day presents!

Timex.ca Sale: 50% off PLUS Extra 15% Signup Coupon!

Posted by on May 24, 2015 at 12:00 PM

Timex.ca Sale: 50% off PLUS Extra 15% Signup Coupon!

Anyone need a new watch? Or perhaps thinking of buying one for someone as a gift (perhaps for Father’s Day)? Hit up Timex.ca just now, as there’s a pretty good deal happening, as well as a signup coupon code. There’s a sale section with 50% off and what’s even sweeter, is that you can sign up for their email updates and instantly get a 15% coupon code too.

There are around 80 watches to choose from in this Timex.ca sale, with a mix of women’s and men’s watches. Prices on the sale watches seem to start around $25 (or $21.25).

Getting a 15% Signup Coupon

There’s a box at the bottom right of the Timex site which asks you to sign up to email updates. If you sign up there, you WON’T get a free 15% coupon code. However, when you first click through to the above site, click around a bit and you will get a popup offer. This will state that you can get a 15% coupon code by signing up to email updates. Using two different email addresses that I got through 10minutemail, I tested both signup methods and I only got a 15% coupon code when signing up on the popup screen. When you do this, you’ll get a promo code for 15% discount that expires in 14 days from signup.

Watch Examples

Here are a few examples of the prices I see with the 50% sale and the extra 15% coupon code applied too:

Men’s

Women’s

Free Shipping on $75+

If you want to take advantage of the Timex free shipping option, you will have to spend at least $75 on their site. All orders above this level will get free shipping to your home. If you spend less than this amount, shipping is only $4.50 anyway. That’s not so steep.

When we got an email newsletter about this deal, Timex were advertising a 10% coupon code on top of the 50% sale items; the code was ONLINE10 (expires 29th May 2015). Their email was titled up to 60% off… but someone at Timex doesn’t know how to do math! 50% sale items plus a 10% coupon code means a 55% discount on the original prices, not 60%. Heh. The pedant in me has emailed them and told them so… Timex.ca Sale: 50% off PLUS Extra 15% Signup Coupon!

Outlet Store: Casio Men’s Solar Powered Runner’s Watch Was $55 | Now $24.65 & $5 Shipping

Posted by on April 28, 2015 at 11:00 AM

Outlet Store: Casio Mens Solar Powered Runners Watch Was $55 | Now $24.65 & $5 Shipping

My Outlet Store has discounted the Casio Men’s Solar Powered Runner’s Watch (STLS100H-1AV) from $54.99 down to $29 plus $4.95 shipping. With our exclusive coupon code bargainmoosetime you can score this watch for only $24.65 plus shipping.

This watch looks basic but its functions are far above your basic watches. The watch has 100M water resistance for runs in the rain and the odd accidental toilet bowl swim. However, the watch is water resistant not waterproof so I do not recommend this watch for swimming.

The runner’s watch has dual countdown timers for interval training as well as a 100-hour stopwatch. The 1/100th second stopwatch will be as accurate as you are. With five daily alarms, you can schedule everything just on a simple watch that is always with you.

With 31 time zones and a calendar, you are covered for wherever life takes you. This watch has built in solar panels for charging and has a low battery indicator so you never run out of juice unexpectedly.

The dial has an easy to read face and LED light for reading at night. The black case with green accents will match with whatever you are wearing. One reviewer from desertcart said:

Really like the watch for the price. Wish the light was an indigo style, but the watch is great. Charge lasts a good while and I like how it goes to sleep when not used.

Now, I did a bit of price comparing with other retailers. Sears Canada sells the same watch for $54.99 plus shipping costs. I found the watch on sale at Amazon Canada for $37.71. However, even with shipping costs at My Outlet Store, the watch is cheaper there. I even checked out some US websites (accidentally). The cheapest I found in the USA was $34.99 USD at Staples.com plus shipping. The watch was already out of stock at that price. The suggested price on Casio.com (US) is $49.95 USD for this watch.

For the price, you just cannot do better in Canada or in the USA that I could find. This is a solid watch made by a dependable brand. It is perfect for runners and other athletes who need the convenience of a stop watch on their wrist. I know that our iPhones can do a lot these days, but they are just not as convenient as something you wear upon your wrist.

Thanks to Mooser Kristy for posting this deal in the forum.

Today Only: 47% Off Garmin Vivofit Fitness Band @ Amazon.ca (EXPIRED)

Posted by on April 20, 2015 at 1:30 PM

Today Only: 47% Off Garmin Vivofit Fitness Band @ Amazon.ca (EXPIRED)

Today only, the Garmin Vivofit fitness band is down to just $79.99 at Amazon Canada. Originally priced as high as $149.99, it will also be shipped for absolutely free.

First of all, let me specify that this watch is available in as many as 6 different colours: black, red, slate, teal (green), purple or blue.

Second of all, summer is right around the corner and if you have been meaning to shed some weight, then this watch is for you. It holds you accountable for your laziness by displaying a red move bar after you have been inactive for one hour. Being inactive for one hour may not seem like much but if you have a sitting 9-5 job, then getting up and moving, even just a little bit, is super important for your health.

There is nothing worse than sitting all day and studies have shown that you need to move around at least every hour. Even if it’s a short walk down the hallway, it’s still better than nothing!

I’m actually very tempted to get this watch myself just because I often get caught up in sitting too long. Timers can help with this but a fitness band like the Garmin one is definitely way cooler. What is swaying me the most to potentially get it though is the image above. It made me realize that it’s not just a fitness band, but it can also double as a cool fashion accessory.

On top of motivating you to move, the Garmin Vivofit fitness band is also water resistant, has a long battery life, tracks the quality of your sleep and also counts calories. Out of 56 customers reviews on Amazon, it has received an average rating of 3.5/5 stars. This watch is also much more ecpensive everywhere else:

Now this one that is on sale doesn’t include a heart rate monitor but for the addition of this feature alone, you would be looking at nearly double the price as it’s currently going for $146.61 on Amazon! Personally, I could do without it…

Today Only! Cookoo Bluetooth Watch Was $129.99 | Now $65 & Free Shipping @ Chapters Indigo Canada (EXPIRED)

Posted by on March 18, 2015 at 8:29 AM

Today Only! Cookoo Bluetooth Watch Was $129.99 | Now $65 & Free Shipping @ Chapters Indigo Canada (EXPIRED)

The Cookoo Bluetooth watch is not your average timepiece, it is a smartwatch to help you filter your phone alerts and messages. This watch was $129.99 but is now only $65. Free shipping is included with this order over as it is over $25 from Chapters.

I had a job several years ago where it was extremely impolite to pull out your phone in certain places in the building. My supervisor would lament that everyone was using their phone to check the time and would sneak looks at their social media. In the past few years I have become even more connected to my phone. I try to disconnect when I am with my family and friends, but when I am expecting an important message it can be tough to avoid the siren call of Facebook.

Have you tried playing the cell phone game with friends? You stack your cell phones in the centre of the table, and the first person to check their phone during dinner picks up the entire tab. You could sneakily win the game and stay connected with only the important updates with this cool Bluetooth enabled watch. Your friends would probably notice you checking your watch, but it would help to filter your alerts when spending time with people you care about. This would also help if you have a tendency to miss alerts on your phone in loud places.

You can customize the alerts, and have the watch alert you when you have an e-mail, phone call, text message, Facebook alert, Twitter mentions or any combination you choose. I like that I could use it to limit my Facebook use when I am spending time with my daughter, but still would get important notifications and texts. This watch will ring, buzz or show only an icon to alert you.

This watch also functions as a remote control for pictures, music volume controls and can help you find your phone. I cannot even tell you how many hundreds of times I have been on the hunt for my phone in the house.

You can pick your colour between black, white, blue, pink and silver. This watch is compatible with several iPhone4 & 5, iPad, iTouch and Android 4.2/4.3 devices.

You could pick up this same smart Bluetooth watch at Newegg.ca for $149.99. Bestbuy.ca has this Bluetooth watch for $159.99. Staples.ca also has this watch for $159.99. Pick this up today with a much bigger discount instead.

Reviews are hard to find on this watch. You will have to use your own best judgement if this device is right for you.

Bargainmoosers, how would you use Bluetooth watch to filter your notifications from e-mail and social media?

Casio Watches only $20 @ Walmart Canada

Posted by on December 29, 2014 at 5:36 PM

Casio Watches only $20 @ Walmart Canada

Walmart Canada has marked down three Casio watches to just $20 each with free shipping. While smart phones may be replacing everything else, I do think there is nothing like a good watch. That way you can check out the time without being bombarded with everything else there is on your life-in-a-electronic-box.

The best watch deal is on the Casio LTP1328-1 Women’s Dress Watch that was $69.96 and is now only $20. I tried to price compare this watch but it is not available many places. I did find secondary sellers on Amazon selling it for around $55. It has three hands (hour, minute, second) that move around the slightly oversized face. The watch is also supposed to be water resistant up to 50 m. One reviewer said:

I was surprise this watch was on clearance, great price. It’s lightweight but does not look cheap. There is only one photo so you can’t see the band behind. It has enough adjustments to fit different wrist sizes. This is not so much a dress watch as I call it a casual sports watch. Did not try the waterproof claim, however I will come back to reduce the stars if it disappoints.

If this is not your cup of tea, then there are two other watches to choose from. The Casio LTP1331-6AV Ladies Watch (purple) and the Casio LTP1331-7AV Ladies Watch (white) are essentially the same watch except for the colour. Originally $49.96, they are now on sale for $20 each with free shipping. Now, Amazon Canada has the same deal (though nearly OOS on the purple). However, they would not qualify for free shipping from Amazon so Walmart’s deal is better.

One woman commented on the white Casio LTP1331:
it’s smaller than I expected but looks so nice. This is my favorite watch and I love it.

I figured if you are looking for a watch on a budget, that these are some of your best choices. While you can get watches for cheaper, you might end up replacing them in a year instead of five years. In the end, spending a bit more up front is the better option. However, if your budget truly cannot handle a $20 watch – then I highly recommend the clearance $5 watches at Walmart. There are currently four in stock:

Rogers Wireless Canada: Samsung Gear 2 Neo Smartwatch | Was $220 Now $100

Good morning, my fellow Bargainmoosers! Rogers Wireless is currently having a great deal on their Samsung Gear 2 Neo Smartwatch, and you don’t have to commit to anything to purchase this sweet device – you can buy it outright, whether you’re a Rogers customer or just an innocent online shopper with no obligations with Rogers. This Samsung Gear 2 Neo Smartwatch normally sells for $219.99, but you can now purchase this watch for only $99.99! You’ll also qualify for free shipping – now that’s a nice bonus!

If you have a Samsung cellphone, then this Samsung Gear 2 Neo Smartwatch would compliment it perfectly. It has a myriad of great features – you can watch videos, make phone calls (if you already have a Samsung cellphone linked to this smartwatch), and so much more! You can learn more about this awesome gadget by clicking on the link above, and scrolling down to the Samsung Gear 2 Neo Smartwatch.

On a side note, it’s getting colder out there! I had to temporarily retire my winter jacket for an even heavier winter jacket! It’s just how it is here in Canada, and I’ll happily deal with the cold weather – after all, you’re never too old to make snow angels! As a matter of fact, I plan to kick it old school (well, old school for me) and make a snow fort during this winter season! However, if I end up purchasing this Samsung Gear 2 Neo Smartwatch, I’ll probably keep it indoors to prevent it from getting covered in snow!

If you wanted to purchase a similar Samsung Gear 2 Neo Smartwatch from Amazon, it would cost you $247.16. Listed below is a brief review of this smartwatch from a satisfied Amazon customer:

I wear it every time I go outside. I found the pedometer very useful as I see that I actually stared to walk a little more and lost 5 pounds. I love it. I would recommend it to anyone with a compatible Android.

Happy hunting, Moosers!

Girls LCD Watches Were $12 Now Only $5 & Free Shipping @ Walmart! (Quick)

If you are starting shopping for gifts early, Walmart has a great option right now. Various girls Disney Princess LCD watches are on clearance for only $5 with free shipping. There are a few favorite Disney characters to choose from like Cinderella, and Tinkerbell. This is an online only deal, these watches are not sold in Walmart stores.

These watches are suitable for three years and up so not only is it a great toy or accessory it can also teach your little one to keep track of time. The Disney Pricess watch comes with three covers featuring a different Disney princess. I have a little cousin who loves to pick out her own clothing and it would be a great option for her to also pick with princess cover she might like to wear too.

The watch case itself has a stainless steel backing and is sliver tone. There is a printed adjustable plastic strap with a metal buckle, because it is not entirely made of plastic it will not just fall apart with regular use. The plastic is good on the strap for comfort on the wrist. It is battery operated, but unlike other gifts for the holidays, batteries are included.

The Tinkerbell and Cinderella watches also come without the cover and feature a picture on the front. The rest of the Disney watches on the Walmart Canada are still regular price of $12. Although the same watch featuring the Hulk that is also on sale for $5 has already sold out.

Two mothers who left reviews of both the Disney Princess and Hulk watches had this to say:

I bought this as a gift for my girl and was shocked to find how much increased her ability to learn about time. Being stylish she loved the pattern too. Full price utility for me.

Couldn’t find a Hulk watch anywhere and it was the only thing my 4 year old asked Santa for Christmas. Found this one online and it was shipped surprising quick. It arrived well on time for Christmas! Exactly what he wanted.

Check out Walmart for easy savings on a gift that is sure to be well-liked by the little ones in your life that love the Disney princesses. At a clearance price like this it won’t last long during the holiday season.

WalMart Canada: Marvel Super Heroes LCD Watch (Boys) | Was $12 Now $5

I hope you’re all enjoying your Thursday so far, my fellow deal hunters! I found a pretty great deal on WalMart’s website – it’s for a Marvel Super Heroes LCD Watch (Boys), and while it normally retails for $12, you can now buy this cute watch for only $5! What makes this deal so great is the fact that you’ll also get free shipping with your order! Oh yeah!

Marvel characters have always been popular, but they’ve been especially well known lately, now that so many blockbuster films with these familiar characters have been released (and are about to be released). Movies like The Avengers, Iron Man, X-Men, and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 have been lighting up the box office, and you can see their toys everywhere you go!

This Marvel Super Heroes LCD Watch (Boys) has several popular Marvel characters on it, including Spider-Man, Wolverine, and The Incredible Hulk (side note: I was an extra for The Incredible Hulk movie that starred Edward Norton. Now that was fun).

This would be a fantastic stocking stuffer! At $5, the price is right, and it would bring a smile to any child’s face. It looks sleek, and it has familiar characters on it! I still look back on the days that I would wear my WCW Lex Luger watch to school with fond memories (yes, the pro wrestler).

If you were to buy a similar Captain America watch from Toys R Us, it would cost you $11.99 plus shipping. I’ve included a snippet of a review of this watch from a satisfied WalMart customer below:

Found this one online and it was shipped surprisingly quick and arrived on time for Christmas! It is exactly what he wanted!

This would be a great stocking stuffer! Happy hunting, my fellow Bargainmoosers!

Future Shop Canada: Wenger Swiss Womens Watch | Was $265 Now $80 (EXPIRED)

I understand why many people are starting to wear watches again. It’s all about the ability to style and profile, and there’s something that’s vogue about a classy wrist watch. In fact, after nearly 12 years of not wearing a watch, my best friend surprised me with a Citizen Eco-Drive on the day of his wedding a few weeks ago (thanks, pal). I now wear this watch every day, and I love it!

Great watch although the calendar is hard to read. Nice that it is all stainless steel. If its anything like my last watch I will be excited to get over 12 years of constant wearing from it! Thank you. Great price too!!!
