Shoppers Drug Mart: Free $10 Gift Card & $10 Tim Hortons Card With $75+

It’s a Double Double weekend at Shoppers Drug Mart this weekend. When you spend $75 or more on either Saturday or Sunday, you will get a free gift card for Tim Hortons as well as Shoppers Drug Mart with your purchase.

All of the regular conditions apply to this deal. The offer excludes prescription purchases, products with codeine, insulin and select insulin products, tobacco products (where applicable), newspapers, stamps, lottery tickets, event tickets, transit tickets, electronic gift cards, prepaid phone cards and Shoppers Home Health Care locations. Other than that, you can get anything.

The best way to get the most from your money of course is to check out the sales first and use any coupons that may go with these sales.  As long as your total is the $75 minimum after you give the cashier all your coupons, you will still get your two free gift cards!

Now the Tim Hortons gift card has no expiry date, which is awesome, but the Shoppers Drug Mart gift card does.  It will expire April 6th so you will need to use it by then.  The free Shoppers Drug Mart gift cards will always have an expiry but you can use them on absolutely anything with no minimum purchase required.

Tim Hortons Canada: Free Hashbrown with Breakfast Purchase

Who doesn’t love to get a freebie bright and early in the morning!  This weekend,Tim Hortons has a pretty great deal happening at breakfast.  When you head in for breakfast and get a coffee and any breakfast sandwich, you will get a free hash brown with your order.

Now the deal say you can get the free hash brown with any breakfast sandwich and any coffee but you can get any drink hot or cold and still get the deal.  This is great for me because I am not a coffee drinker.  Additionally you can choose any of their breakfast sandwiches.

This free hash brown will be available all weekend from 5am until 12pm until March 2nd at participating Tim Hortons locations.

I have had their hash-browns before and they are so crunchy and delicious!  This deal is available both at the drive thru and if you head inside the store but you can only get one per customer.  I there is more than one person, I suggest you head inside so you can each get one instead of just one at the drive thru.

Tim Hortons Canada: Free Skates In Your Neighbourhood

Posted by on December 19, 2013 at 2:00 PM

Tim Hortons Canada: Free Skates In Your Neighbourhood

Every year, Tim Hortons sponsors some free skates in neighbourhoods around Canada. This year is no different and they have released their list of when and where the free skates will be in your community.

Skating truly is a Canadian sport. There are two things my children have to do (besides school), and this is learn to swim and learn to skate. I remember going skating many evenings with my dad at the local outdoor skating rink. Those are really good memories. Two of my three children have already learned to skate and my third will this winter and then the entire family is going to get out there in the fresh air and skate on a regular basis.

Outdoor rinks are usually free, so the Tim Hortons skates are mostly at indoor arenas and community centres. The great thing about this is that it doesn’t matter if the weather is -20 or +20, you can still skate. Plus, you don’t have the wind or precipitation either. Each community has about three  (or more) dates for free skates, so if you can’t make one, you have other choices.

Shoppers Drug Mart Canada: $10 SDM Card & $10 Tim Hortons Card With $75+ Purchase

Shoppers Drug Mart Canada: $10 SDM Card & $10 Tim Hortons Card With $75+ Purchase

This morning, head on into a Shoppers Drug Mart, spend $75 and you’ll get a $10 Shoppers Drug Mart card, plus a $10 Tim Hortons card, just for shopping there.

There is just something deeply satisfying about getting free stuff for buying what you were planning on buying anyway. What I like about this deal is that both gift cards are perfect to keep, or give as gifts for someone you want to show appreciation to. I love giving teachers gift cards, because then they can choose what they want to do with them (even re-gift), and Tim Hortons is my tried and true gift because I think almost every single Canadian goes to Tim Hortons. It is just a matter of pride.

When my sons were babies, they knew how to say Tim Hortons before a lot of other words! My middle son loves Timmies so much he wants to be a “chef” there. Today he had to get some blood work taken and the only way I could get him to stop screaming was promising a trip to Tim Hortons. These cards would come in handy in my glove compartment for emergencies such as these.

You have today or tomorrow to pick up your gift cards, and there are some exclusions (explained on the deal page).

Tim Hortons Canada: $1 Cookies & All Proceeds go to Charity

Tim Hortons Canada: $1 Cookies & All Proceeds go to Charity

A great deal is back on at Tim Hortons stores across Canada and by getting it, you can actually help others.  This week only, Tim Hortons has $1 smile cookies for sale and the proceeds will all go to various Tim Hortons charities in your community.

Each Smile cookie is just $1 and the entire dollar will go to charity, which is very rare for a company to do.

This charity event first started to help raise funds for the Hamilton Children’s Hospital in Ontario back in 1996, but has since grown into a major fundraising event across North America. I love that Tim Hortons does this and I go in every year with my kids to grab our cookies.

As for which charity your donation goes to, all you have to do is click on their map and it will tell you exactly where your money will go to.  I live in Calgary Alberta and all Calgary donations will be going to the Calgary Health Trust – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This is very close to my heart since my son was a preemie and was actually there when he was born.

Tim Hortons Canada: $1 Hot Specialty Drinks

If you are a fan of Tim Hortons specialty coffees, then you will like this great deal.  Their hot specialty drinks are on sale right now for just $1, for a limited time only.

There are three different specialty drinks to choose from.  Choose between a small French Vanilla, Latte, or Cafe Mocha, all priced at just $1.  Personally I would go for the cafe mocha because it looks absolutely delicious!

Basically, you will be able to get a delicious specialty coffee for less than the price you would pay for a regular coffee.

There is no definite end date for this promotion so take advantage of it on your way to work, on your way home from work, or when you just need a little caffeine pick me up.

Charitable Deals To Help Alberta Flood Victims

Posted by on June 29, 2013 at 8:00 PM

Charitable Deals To Help Alberta Flood Victims

Last week, as most people already know, various places in Southern Alberta got hit really hard with flooding that has caused a huge disaster for the animals, the people, the businesses, the landscape, and environment of Alberta.  Many people have lost their homes to this flooding and they are not covered by insurance.  Generous people and businesses are helping raise money for these disaster victims in an effort to clean up and rebuild.

There are a lot of great businesses right now that are offering portions and sometimes the entire sale of items to go directly to the Alberta Flood disaster victims.  The staff at Bargainmoose want to commend those businesses and help get the word out for these deals so that if you are planning on shopping this weekend or in the near future, you will check out these deals first so that your purchases will go to a great cause.

I live in Calgary and have witnessed first hand how much it will take to rebuild our cities and towns.  I have also witnessed how generous and supportive that many Canadians have been to their fellow Canadians helping out where ever they can.  Businesses are also trying to do their part by donating proceeds of sales and I thought I would highlight a few of those deals.

Here are just a few awesome companies jumping in to support Alberta:

Tim Hortons: Head in and get your very own Alberta Rose donut, with 100% of sales from the $1 baked good going directly to Red Cross flood relief efforts.

Charitable Deals To Help Alberta Flood Victims

Boston Pizza: Buy any medium or large pizza on July 3rd and $5 will go to the relief efforts.  This is available at every Boston Pizza in Alberta. In addition, all money raised will be matched by Boston Pizza International Inc and Boston Pizza Foundation and will also go towards the relief and recovery efforts.

Charitable Deals To Help Alberta Flood Victims

Calgary Stampede: Buy a “Come Hell or High Water” Tee and all proceeds from each shirt sold will be donated to the Canadian Red Cross Alberta Floods Fund.

Cobs: They will donate 5% of all sales on June 29th and 30th to Red Cross flood relief.

Crave Cupcakes: They are donating the proceeds from their Smores cupcakes to go to the Alberta Flood relief effort.  These cupcakes are delicious by the way.

There are a ton of local businesses in Alberta that are also trying to help out. Comment below if you have heard of any other businesses that are trying to do their part in helping out the Alberta Flood disaster.  You can also donate to the Canadian Red Cross if you would like to help out.

Tim Hortons Canada: Free Swims This Summer

Tim Hortons Canada: Free Swims This Summer

Tim Hortons is offering free swims this summer in both Ontario and Alberta, which is totally an awesome and frugal way to get refreshed!

My backyard barely fits my trampoline, let alone my pool. So, on those sweltering summer days, I love to take my kids to the local pool. Problem is, it costs a fortune for my family of 5! In my city, there is a family rate and it is $13.25, but this is usually for a 2.5 hour time limit. That means that if I swam once a week with my family, we’d get a total (and that includes lining up to get in time) of 10 hours for $53. I’m paying $5 an hour for my kids to swim. I think this is outrageous.

Tim Hortons Canada: Free Swims This SummerTim Hortons graciously offers free swims a few times a season at various pools in Alberta and Ontario. It says the capacity limits still apply, so get there early to make sure you get in. Check the link above for times and dates. My local pools have at least three dates at each pool.

(Expiry: End of summer, thanks to airman magazine.)

Tim Hortons Canada: Free Tassimo Brewer with Variety Pack Purchase

Tim Hortons Canada: Free Tassimo Brewer with Variety Pack Purchase

Tim Hortons Canada has an awesome offer happening that will most like go very fast. When you buy a Tim Hortons Tassimo Variety pack in stores, you will get a free Tassimo Brewer with your purchase!

This awesome event starts today at 2pm and will only be only while supplies last.  This is such a great freebie, I expect the Tassimo Brewers to be given out very fast so I would head in as soon as you can to take advantage of this deal.

They will allow one brewer per customer at participating restaurants. The Tim Hortons Tassimo variety pack that you will need to buy is $40.  I wanted to see just how great of a freebie the Tassimo Brewer really was and I found it being sold at a few different places.  The cost of the brewer was anywhere between $59 all the way up to $90 so this really is an incredible freebie to get.

A deal like this would make an excellent Fathers day gift for dad.  I was thinking about snapping up this deal for my husband for when we go camping.  He loves his coffee (and I don’t) so a single serving coffee is perfect for camping in our trailer.  It will be a nice treat for him.

Discounted & Free Ideas For What To Do On March Break In Ontario

Posted by on March 1, 2013 at 1:00 PM

Discounted & Free Ideas For What To Do On March Break In Ontario

Are you ready for March Break or are you scrambling to find ideas for things to do with the kids so they don’t destroy your house, your ears and your sanity over the break? I’m kidding of course. I love having my kids home, although as shocking as it might sound, by Friday of the break, I am wanting a little alone time. This year my husband has decided to take some time off, instead of trying to work in his downstairs home office while the kids come through the ceiling on him. It is up to me to tell him where we are going and what we are doing. I’ve collected some awesome free and discounted ideas for things to do in Ontario this March Break.

Attractions Ontario has a number of great coupons for major attractions all over Ontario. Many of them are 2 for 1 admission, which can save you a ton of money. As a kid, my favourite place to visit in Toronto was Casa Loma, or the Ontario Science Centre, both of which are 20% off with coupon. My kids would absolutely love the Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament and the coupon gets all kids and teens in for free! The Putting Edge glow in the dark mini-golf is up to $8 off, as well. Most of these coupons expire at the end of March, so you want to use them for March Break.

If you aren’t from Toronto and want to see it all, your best bet is a City Pass. I am actually from Toronto and have previously bought the City Pass, because it is a great deal if you want to do a few things while there. The City Pass gets you 43% off of the five best Toronto attractions – The Toronto Zoo, CN Tower, Casa Loma, Royal Ontario Museum and the Ontario Science Centre. I have been to all five (most many times) and I will say that if you are visiting Toronto, you can’t miss any of them. The books are good for nine consecutive days from the first day you use them and they are good for a year from the day you purchase them. They also allow you to skip the ticket lines, which is great when it is going to be busy out there for March Break. You can buy them from any of the attractions themselves while you are there, or online. The cost is $65.99 CDN for adults and $38.99 for kids between 4 and 12.

For the theatre lovers, Disney on Ice is playing Rockin’ Ever After at the Rogers Centre all March Break and you can get four tickets for $100 or up to $15 off a ticket with this promo code at Ticketmaster. Romeo and Juliet at the National Ballet of Canada is also playing over March Break with 50% off your ticket, when you purchase four, that week.

Playdium is an interactive entertainment complex with so much for your kids to do. For March Break they are offering an extra $5 in free credits for games.

If you are coming from out of town or your kids just love hotels, there are some great deals on stays with attraction tickets included. The Delta Toronto East is located very close to the Toronto Zoo and the Ontario Science Centre is right beside two major highways that will take you to many of the other Toronto attractions. They have a pool with a waterslide, plus a great kid’s program and offer deals on stays plus attractions.

Chapters has some great FREE events planned at their store, every day of March Break at 11am, including celebrating Dr. Suess’s birthday, a Lego party and much more.  You need to sign up to participate, by contacting your local store.

Greenhouses and conservatories in various cities around Ontario are offering free admission to their facilities, where kids can check out exotic plants and take part in the special March Break programming. Check out what you can see in London, Hamilton, Toronto and Thunder bay. I am definitely taking advantage of the one very close to my home.

Do you have a future police officer on your hands? My son says he wants to be a forensic police officer. He would love checking out police museums, and I actually think this is going on my list of things to do this break. The Toronto Police Museum and Discovery Centre sounds really cool and only costs kids $1, seniors $2 and adults $3. A little farther north in Orillia, the OPP police museum is free!

Tim Hortons is offering free swims in Ontario in Richmond Hill, Thornhill, Vaughan and Woodbridge.

And last, but not least, the thing we always do every March Break is visit our local maple syrup shack for a pancake breakfast, horse and buggy ride and to get some of those yummy maple syrup candies. You can’t live in Canada and not do this. Many of them are free to visit with a nominal charge for the breakfast and other attractions depending on the farm. The picture above is one I took on our first visit with our new baby to a local maple syrup farm.

Please post below if you have any other free or discounted ideas for March Break and let us know if you took advantage of any of these deals!

Check back frequently with Bargainmoose for more money-saving ideas for this March Break. Stay tuned in the next few days to find out about discounted and free March Break ideas in other parts of Canada.

Tim Hortons: $1 Small Café Mocha, Latte or Classic French Vanilla

Tim Hortons: $1 Small Café Mocha, Latte or Classic French Vanilla

I was just at Tim Hortons soaking my sorrows in an ice cap after a horrible midterm. I noticed they have a special promo on, try the Café Mocha, Latte or Classic French Vanilla for only $1 (+ taxes) for a small.

$1 for a small drink that isn’t pop or a coffee is pretty good. I was highly tempted to try the french vanilla, but I opted for the ice cap. it is a special treat for me, that I usually use to drown my sorrows in. However, French Vanilla is just yummy. Once upon a time i use to buy the Carnation French Vanilla mix, it was good.

Tim Hortons Canada: $1 Cookies All Proceeds go to Charity

We love helping people to save money at Bargainmoose with awesome deals, coupons and more but it is also important to us to let you know great deals that will give back as well. This week only, Tim Hortons has $1 smile cookies for sale and the proceeds will all go to various charities.

There are a couple of things that I like about this deal.  I love that all of the proceeds go to charities not just part of them.  A lot of the time companies will only donate a portion but with Tim Hortons it is all of the proceeds. The other thing that is really awesome about this deal is that the charities are local to your own community.  Depending on where you live and which Tim Hortons you purchase your cookie from, the proceeds will go to a local charity in your community.

I live in Calgary and the proceeds for Calgary will go to the Calgary Health Trust – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.  This charity deal is all over Canada and will run all this week.  This is a great way to get a treat and help out your community while doing it!
