George Foreman Grill Only $19.97 + Shipping @ Tigerdirect

George Foreman Grill Only $19.97 + Shipping @ Tigerdirect

This is a deal from Tigerdirect for the George Foreman GR180VP Grill – it’s only $19.97!

I checked the shipping charge, and it was about $8 (will depend on where you live). But even including shipping, that’s still a good price for the George Foreman GR180VP Grill.

This George Foreman grill has previously been on sale at $49.99 at Tigerdirect.

One bugbear you might have with this grill is that it doesn’t have removable plates (but at this price, you can’t have everything). Even so, it still has very good ratings on Tigerdirect. One of the customer reviews makes a very good point:

It is very good for making fast lunches and dinners without having to set up my barbaque or heat up my house with the oven.

I’ve never used a George Foreman grill myself, but I’ve been thinking about it. As the fat is running away from the food, and there would be less fat content in the finished cooked product, does that mean the food is going to be less tasty? I was frying up some burgers last night, watching them sizzle in their lovely fattening juices, and can’t imagine cooking them any other way. They tasted super. George Foreman Grill Only $19.97 + Shipping @ Tigerdirect

What do you think? Do you use one of these? Do you find the food is just as tasty, or not quite as good as it used to be?

TigerDirect Canada: Swann SWDVK-425504C Surveillance System $289.97 (Orig. $399.99)

Posted by Avigayil on December 5, 2011 at 8:00 PM

TigerDirect Canada: Swann SWDVK 425504C Surveillance System $289.97 (Orig. $399.99)

Buy a sense of security this holiday season with a Swann Surveillance System for only $289.97 at TigerDirect Canada. The system comes with 4 cameras to monitor your world.

I did a bit of research and found the product both on Amazon.ca and Amazon.com. On Amazon.ca it was a terribly overpriced $478.60 and on Amazon.com it was on sale from $399.99 down to $293.49 but with no shipping to Canada.

The reviews, though mixed, are mostly good for the product. Here are a couple reviews:

So far, this system has met all of my expectations … and more. It was easy to set up and it is recording 24/7 video for us with no issues. I am really impressed with how Swann has made this such a complete, ready to go, system. I had two cameras recording and being displayed on the TV within 20 minutes of opening the box.

This system met our needs perfectly. It really exceeded our expectations. It comes with four cameras which cover a large viewing area. You can monitor all camera views at once or individually. It can be set to start recording when it detects motion. That is a wonderful feature to keep from recording endless hours of nothingness! This was exactly what we were looking for and then some! It is very reasonably priced and is excellent quality. The pictures are very clear and the colors are great. Wish we had bought it sooner.

TigerDirect: $25 Off Creative Labs Gaming Headset – Now $24.99

Posted by Angela Dekort on November 16, 2011 at 2:00 PM

TigerDirect: $25 Off Creative Labs Gaming Headset Now $24.99

Give a gift to the gamer in you (or your circle of friends or family) with the Creative Labs Fatal1ty Gaming Headset. It normally goes for $49.97 but, until the very last minute of November 17, you can use a coupon code to take $25 off that price.

    • Coupon code: DGR47980
    • Expires: 11:59 PM on November 17

It comes in black with some red detailing. The reviews on site are mostly positive with a few complaining about ear soreness when left on for a long time. This happens to me with even the most high-end cans, and the solution is easy:  take a break! We need to rest our ears every now and then—and a couple of hours without taking the headphones off is just too much for our little aural wonders to take.

These headphones come with plush velvet earpads, a detachable noise-cancelling mic, and a generous eight foot cord. Just writing about them makes me want to get my game on!

Shipping to where I live was only $7.20, pretty reasonable. It is great to see 2TB hard drives from reputable companies under $100. Currently it has a 4.3 out of 5 star rating with 128 reviews on Tiger Direct. Here is what one reviewer said:

already formatted. put a terrabyte on there in no time. Couldnt ask for better.

A note: if you are going to pair this up with a MAC it will need to be re-formatted, which is a breeze. I jsut did it for a Seagate HD and it took like a couple of minutes if that.

Tiger Direct Canada: Mother’s Day Gift Guide

Posted by Avigayil on May 2, 2011 at 4:00 PM

Tiger Direct Canada: Mothers Day Gift Guide

Having trouble picking out a gift for your tech-loving Mother? Check out the Mother’s Day Gift Guide from Tiger Direct. Sort by your budget ($50 to $500) to find a little something her.

I checked out the $50 range, just to see what they suggested. They have a pretty good selection of items in there! Cameras, external hard drives, and digital photo frames to name a few.

A few year ago my Mother bought my Grandmother a digital photo frame. A good idea is to pre-load all the images onto it before giving. It makes it extra special as then ‘out of the box’ it is plug and play.

    Viewsonic gTablet Only $299.97 @ TigerDirect.ca

Posted by Anna on April 12, 2011 at 11:00 AM

    Viewsonic gTablet Only $299.97 @ TigerDirect.ca

Spotted this interesting deal in one of the latest email newsletters from Tigerdirect.ca. They are offering the Viewsonic 10.1″ gTablet for only $299.97.

This graph on Canadapost’s comparison shopper shows that this device has been steadily decreasing in price for the past few months, and this is the lowest I have seen it.

    Brief spec:

    • 10.1″ screen
    • Android OS (2.2)
    • Wi-fi / Bluetooth
    • 16GB memory
    • 1080p & HDMI

I’ve been quite interested in tablets lately, and I have been following their rise in the marketplace. I got myself an iPad a while back, and I am eagerly awaiting the iPad 2 now. I know there are quite a few models to choose from, with more appearing on the marketplace every day. If you think you fancy a tablet yourself, I would get online and do a bit of research. For example, here’s a review of this Viewsonic gTablet, which goes in to a lot of details about all the features.

While my iPad is pretty amazing, it has a few drawbacks, such as not being able to play flash videos, no USB port, and all the proprietary Apple stuff. I’m looking forward to getting the iPad 2 with HDMI out, meaning I can hook it up and play videos through my plasma TV.

Tiger Direct: Seagate External Hard Drive 500GB only $39.97 + Shipping

Posted by Avigayil on February 26, 2011 at 10:00 AM

Tiger Direct: Seagate External Hard Drive 500GB only $39.97 + Shipping

One of TigerDirect’s weekend deals is this:

To buy this direct from Seagate itself it costs $84.99 without tax or shipping. I stuck the above deal into my cart, added on shipping to Alberta and tax… my total was $50.05. Fifty bucks for a 500GB external hard drive from a brand as well known and reliable as Seagate is great.

There were no reviews on this yet, however, I was reading up on other brands like Hitachi where reviewers warned against going for cheap hard drives and suggested going for brands like iomega, Seagate and others. I personally have an iomega I am very pleased with. As my computer gets older I am even more attached to my external hard drive.

    TigerDirect: GE 14MP Digital Camera, 15x Zoom – $129.97

Posted by Avigayil on January 15, 2011 at 6:00 PM

TigerDirect: GE 14MP Digital Camera, 15x Zoom $129.97

I found this interesting deal on TigerDirect. First off, this looks remarkably like a DSLR camera to me… but evidently it isn’t. What it is it seems is a remarkably good camera. This is the GE DSC-X5-BK-US-1 14MP Digital Camera with 14 Megapixels, 15x Zoom and a 2.7″ LCD screen, in black.. for only $129.97, originally $195.00 (according to Amazon).

    Some features it has:

    • Pan-Capture Panorama
    • Auto Scene Detection
    • Blink Detection
    • Smile Detection
    • Face Detection
    • Optical Image Stabilization
    • In-Camera Red-Eye Removal
    • High Dynamic Range

Shipping to where I live was only $6.37 so you are looking at a very reasonable total! I found the exact same camera on Amazon but even at 30% off it was still slightly more expensive than the camera on Tiger Direct with the shipping I was quoted. This camera has excellent ratings on TG, 4.5/5 stars with 35 reviews. Here is one I rather liked:

Favorite grab and run camera… my wife uses a camera with a rechargeable battery and she constantly was loosing out on good photo ops due to dead batteries. With this cam, I can buy batteries and have spares in my glove box so I can keep on shooting… plus the zoom and anti shake are phenominal.. If you don’t buy this cam you are really loosing out on a good thing.

I find that one funny because I had to buy an additional rechargeable battery for my DSLR because the battery died when I wanted to take a photo, I needed a backup! TigerDirect: GE 14MP Digital Camera, 15x Zoom $129.97

Good Deals on a JVC Everio 60GB Camcorder

Posted by Avigayil on January 10, 2011 at 3:00 PM

Good Deals on a JVC Everio 60GB Camcorder

Found a great deal on this JVC Everio GZ-MG630 Digital Camcorder – 60GB HDD with 40x Dynamic Zoom Lens, 35x Optical Lens, 2.7″ LCD in blue. When it first came out this camcorder retailed for $599. Today I found two rather good deals for it: one for a demo and one for a refurbished.

    • The Source: The Deal of the Day at The Source today is this JVC camcorder, discounted to $219.96. It is a demo product, so people has had a good look at it.. but it hasn’t had any ‘field’ experience. It comes with a 1 year warranty. As per usual you can get it shipped free of charge to your local Source.
    • TigerDirect: If you don’t mind a refurbished product you will want to go with TigerDirect. TigerDirect is offering the JVC camcorder for $149.97 (+ shipping). It only comes with a 3 month warranty, but you can extend that. Has great ratings so far.

I have listed both deals as some people are really against refurbished products, and some people love them for getting a bargain. Likewise some people don’t like demos. Also, the warranty comes in to play. For a camcorder that originally cost $599, both of these are excellent deals.

    TigerDirect.ca: 2 TB External Hard drive $119.97

Posted by Avigayil on January 3, 2011 at 8:00 PM

    TigerDirect.ca: 2 TB External Hard drive $119.97

2TB external hard drives run a pretty penny these days. They are usually found for between $149 – $199, so this Fantom GD2000EU GreenDrive External Hard Drive is no doubt a good price at $119.97 for 2TB of space. The Fantom GreenDrive is also a bit different than your stand external hard drive: it reduces your power consumption by 40% compared to other external hard drives. Thus the ‘green.’

The hard drive is both PC and Mac compatible, for those of us with Time Machine. It has a 4.6/5 star rating with 147 reviews. That is pretty good. Here are some other specs you might want to know:

Features a sturdy aluminum casing for maximum durability, fan-free design for silent operation, and can be placed horizontally or vertically to increase deskspace.

I personally couldn’t imagine having a computer without an external hard drive these days. It has saved so much headache, especially when my laptop’s hard drive went last summer. I managed to recover several programs and many valuable documents. But as with all things, I really don’t use it enough… and I lost other stuff like the majority of my wedding plans because of not having backed up for several months. If you don’t have one, I suggest investing in one. They are worth it.

Shipping was around $7 for me.

TigerDirect.ca: Flip Ultra HD 120min Pocket Digital Camcorder $79.99 ($75 Off)

If you didn’t get a free one at Old Navy on Boxing Day… TigerDirect.ca has an amazing deal on this Flip Ultra HD 120min Pocket Digital Camcorder. These things seem like a new fad, and this is a great price for one: only $79.99, $75 off after coupon! It has 120 Minute Video Capture, 8GB HDD, 2.0″ LCD and is white.

Click here to check the Pocket Digital Camcorder out on TigerDirect

    • Discount: $75 Off
    • Coupon Code: VZN16396
    • Expires: 31st, December 2010

I priced it out to be sent to my place and including shipping and tax after the coupon it was $90.25. I did a little price comparison and found a similar item for $99.99 ($60 off) at Chapters, but it is only a 4GB. So this is a rather good deal.

    Logitech G27 Driving Wheel For $260 @ Tigerdirect.ca

Posted by Anna on December 29, 2010 at 4:00 AM

    Logitech G27 Driving Wheel For $260 @ Tigerdirect.ca

Right now at Tigerdirect Canada, they are offering the Logitech G27 driving wheel for only $279.97.

The price at Tigerdirect is $279.97, as you can see above. But as Avigayil mentioned in this previous Paypal post, if you pay with Paypal before the 31st December 2010, they will credit your account with $20, making the G27 wheel only $259.97. Bargain-licious! UPDATE - note on the Tigerdirect site that the paypal cashback offer now semms to have been cancelled early.

Though the G27 is out of stock at many places, just to price compare elsewhere: $350 at Best Buy, $370 at Futureshop, $344 at Newegg.ca, and $330 at NCIX.

You might think this is pretty expensive for a console accessory, but it’s a very popular device! I was trying to decide between the G25 and the G27 wheel, as my other half wanted one for Christmas. I ended up going for the cheaper G25 model. But we’ve been so busy over Christmas that we haven’t had the chance to use it yet!

Also, if you are wanting to use these wheels with certain games, have a google and check for compatibility – they’re not compatible with all racing games. This particular wheel can be used on your PC or PS3.
