The Source: Ematic 7” HD Quad Core 8GB Tablet $88 (Save $62)

The Source: Ematic 7 HD Quad Core 8GB Tablet $88 (Save $62)

The Source Canada has an enchanting deal on an Ematic  7” HD quad core tablet with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and Google Play. Originally $149.99, the tablet is now on sale for $87.99.

The device comes with a 1.5GHz quad core processor with a dedicated GPU. It stores plenty of apps and games on its 8GB of flash memory space that you can expand up to 32GB via its microSD card slot. Those cards aren’t too expensive either.

Use the 5GB of included cloud storage to stream your music and movies to your tablet also. The screen is a 7″ HD 1024×600 capacitive touchscreen. An excellent device for this price. You can choose from black, red, blue, yellow, green, or pink.

I price compared with a few places to make sure you were getting the best deal. I found the device on the Amazon.ca marketplace for $124.99. I found a bunch on eBay.ca for anywhere between $120 to $160. I then found them in stock at Sears.ca for $107.99 but expect a $4 handling charge and then shipping unless you want to pick it  up at your local store. Either way, The Source Canada has by far the best deal.

Get free shipping on orders of $20 or more.

The Source Canada: 50% off Headrush Speakers

Posted by on April 10, 2014 at 8:30 PM

The Source Canada: 50% off Headrush Speakers

There is a selection of Headrush speakers at The Source on sale for 50% of their original price right now.

So franky, I think the bluetooth speaker is the best thing since the iPhone. Mostly because I connect my iPhone wirelessly to my bluetooth speaker all the time to magically stream tunes from my hand, table, or pocket to the ears of my friends and family. I even bring my speaker to class when I do presentations to play some nice background music or an intro tune to bring joy to all the little boys and girls.

If you don’t have a bluetooth speaker, you need one. This Headrush Pop-Up Speaker is your most budget-friendly option. Originally $19.99, it is now on sale for $9.99. Reviewers have said it is a great sounding unit for the cost.

If your budget can handle a bit more then you have several sweet options. This Headrush NFC/Bluetooth Speaker with interchangeable faceplates was $49.99 and is now $24.99. The Headrush Swiftbeat Speaker is another excellent choice at this price point as it also originally cost $49.99 and is now $24.99. What is great about these units is they both qualify for free shipping right now because The Source is currently allowing orders of $20 or more to ship for free. Bonus!

Last but not least, the Headrush Backbeat speaker in your choice of black or white is discounted from $99.99 down to $49.99.

The Source Canada Promo Code: $10 Off Select Xbox One Games

Posted by on March 31, 2014 at 2:00 PM

The Source Canada Promo Code: $10 Off Select Xbox One Games

Just yesterday I wrote about a fantastic deal on iPad cases at The Source and yet, it looks like they’re at it again, having released yet another deal but this time for $10 off select Xbox One games.

Click here to save on select Xbox One games @ TheSource.ca now

  • Coupon Code: TSXBOX
  • Discount: $10 off select Xbox One games
  • Expiry: 30th April 2014

Originally priced at $59.99, below is a list of the Xbox One games you can save $10 on and get for just $49.99:

Personally, I’m particularly excited to try Forza Motorsport 5, a racing game, especially since an update was just released in an effort to address the numerous complaints the game received upon its release. In fact, here’s what Shaun McInnis from GameSpot wrote about this awesome game:

All of this combined makes Forza Motorsport 5 an outstanding improvement to an already excellent racing franchise. It’s far more than just a great racing sim, or a gorgeous showcase for the types of feats the Xbox One hardware is capable of. This is a game built on the romantic thrill of motorsport in all its forms, and that love for its subject matter is all but impossible to resist.

Shipping is at a flat rate of $4.99 per order, so in the spirit of saving money, I definitely suggest opting for the free in-stores pick-up instead. As always, this The Source promo code may also be found on our forum.

The Source Canada Deal: Up To 93% Off GnarlyFish Folios for iPad 2 & New iPad

Posted by on March 30, 2014 at 7:30 PM

The Source Canada Deal: Up To 93% Off GnarlyFish Folios for iPad 2 & New iPad

The Source has a great deal on cases for the iPad 2 and the new iPad: you can get a GnarlyFish in either pink or purple for up to 93% off, but hurry because they are selling out fast and there is no word on when this deal might end!

Equally amazing deals, both of these folios have a $2 difference between them: while the pink one is on sale for $2.96 (reg. $39.99), the purple one is $4.96 (reg. $49.99).

Apart from the colours, they both appear to be exactly the same with the exact same imitation suede lining on the inside for ultimate screen protection. The best part about both of these iPad cases is that they can be folded to provide several different viewing angles. This means that if you’re watching a video on your iPad, then you can fold the case in such a way that the iPad stands up on its own on a flat surface without you having to hold it.

If I had an iPad, I would definitely get one of these, especially since you really can’t go wrong at that price! In fact, here’s what one reviewer had to say about the purple one:

I was so pleased with my purchase that I decided to order another one and the price and the service is awesome. I would recommend The Source to all of my friends and family.

Since shipping is at a flat rate of $4.99 per order, I would definitely suggest to have it shipped to the nearest The Source store near you to avoid paying any extra fees.

The Source: Spring Clearance Up to 70% Off

Posted by on March 20, 2014 at 11:00 PM

The Source: Spring Clearance Up to 70% Off

The Source Canada is celebrating spring with a clearance event. Save up to 70% on electronics and accessories.

I found a really sweet deal on this Otterbox Reflex Series Case for the iPhone 4 & 4S in Deep Plum. Originally $44.99, it is now on sale for $19.99. Otterbox has become the name for iPhone cases because they are strong, dependable, and protecting a device that costs around $600. This one is a two piece slider that fits snugly over your phone and it also has a self-adhering screen cover.

This FUJIFILM FINEPIX AX600 14MP CAMERA is on sale from $74.99 down to $57.96. It features a 14mp lens, 5x optical zoom, 2.7″ lcd screen, 720p hd movie, intelligent flash, face detection, and much more. The camera is packed full of features for one low price and makes a great buy! I did a quick price comparison with Amazon which had the camera priced at the full $74.99.  One reviewer on The Source had this to say:

My wife wanted a camera to carry in her purse when going to Theatre rehearsals for candid shots. With Lithium batteries it lasts forever and takes great shots, 5 times zoom and 14 megapixel is more than acceptable. A great bargain, our 3rd Fuji!

Shipping is $4.99 or else you can get items shipped to your local store for free.

The Source Canada: iPod Nano 16GB $134.99 (Save $15) Today

Posted by on March 15, 2014 at 12:30 PM

The Source Canada: iPod Nano 16GB $134.99 (Save $15) Today

Today ONLY The Source Canada is offering $15 off the seventh generation 16GB iPod Nano. It is their deal of the day and a worthy one too as iPods don’t often go on sale. Get a new iPod for only $134.99, instead of the regular price of $149.99.

This is today’s circuit breaker deal so it ends at midnight tonight. Quantities are limited but there are an array of colours to choose from and all the colours are on sale. Take your pick from:

I want one of these but I just cannot decide on a colour! I am debating between the yellow or the purple right now. What colour do you want?

I know iPods have kind of been thrown to the wayside since iPhones became really popular: but iPhones are really expensive. I have a 16GB iPhone and it keeps warning me that my memory is pretty much full. That is because I store as much music as I possibly can on it. I am planning to get an iPod so I can split the music onto my iPod and have my iPhone free for other storage like reminders, documents, voice memos, and more.

I price compared with BestBuy Canada and Apple.ca where the iPods are still $149.99 at both places. Get free in store pickup (highly recommend) or else shipping is just $4.99.

The Source Canada: Save Up To $230 On Canon DSLRs

Posted by on February 28, 2014 at 10:30 AM

The Source Canada: Save Up To $230 On Canon DSLRs

Get up to $230 off Canon DSLR cameras at The Source.

I am in need of a new DSLR camera as mine is eight years old and getting a little worn out. Technology moves so fast, the cameras out now are so much better than they were even just that eight short years ago. I am actually in the market for a Nikon, as I already have extra lenses and such for Nikon, so this sale doesn’t help me, but Canon is a superb brand and worthy of a look.

The best deal for this sale is this Canon EOS Rebel T3 18-55 IS kit with 12.2 MP, which is now $407.96, was $649.99. Reviews are varied, but it got a 3.8 star rating out of 5.

Going up a notch, this Canon EOS T5i 18MP DSLR camera with 18-55 IS STM lens kit is $150 off from $879.99, now $729.99. It lets you shoot like a pro, even if you are a beginner.

If you want a good mid-range camera with fantastic reviews, this Canon EOS T3i 18.8MP camera with 18-55mm lens kit is $60 off, bringing the total down to $539.99, was $599.99.

Get free shipping to your door on orders over $20, which means these cameras would ship free.

The Source: 3DS XL + Mario & Luigi Dream Team for only $170!

Posted by on February 27, 2014 at 7:30 PM

The Source: 3DS XL + Mario & Luigi Dream Team for only $170!

Save $70 on a 3DS XL + Mario and Luigi Dream Team from The Source!

First off, the retail on this  seems to be $199.99 and you’re getting it for only $169.99 so I guess maybe you’re only saving $30. But the game is $40 by itself and the console is $200 by itself. Technically if you bought the game and the console separately you’d save $70 by getting this deal. Regardless, it’s a good deal. The 3DS is the clear king of the handhelds right now and Mario, well, Mario games are Mario games. Not much else to say about either of these things…

…but I need to fill space so let’s talk about Mario and Luigi Dream Team. I am an RPG guy. I have played primarily RPGs during my life as a gamer. Out of all the RPGs I’ve played, some of the best are Mario RPGs. I’ve played three RPGs in the Mario universe and they have all been great. There might be some bad RPGs in the Mario world but I haven’t seen them and from the reviews on this one, Mario and Luigi Dream team is not one of them.

It has a solid 8/10 on meta critic and from the gameplay videos I’ve watched it looks like the classic blend of platformer and RPG what any fan or Mario RPGs have come to love. If you haven’t had the pleasure of an RPG with your favourite Mario characters this is a great way to dive right in to a great handheld console and a fantastic game for an awesome price.

Oh, and I almost forgot, you get a 3DS XL with a cool Mario and Luigi design on it! Pretty neat.

Shipping is free.

The Source Canada: Free $25 Gift Card With $150 Purchase

The Source Canada is offering a free $25 gift card when you spend $150 or more online or by phone.

If you are looking to make a major purchase but don’t especially need the gift card, you can always gift it to someone.

To get your free gift card you must add it to your cart. You can just go to your cart and add Web ID 7702001 to it. Once your cart total is $150 (before taxes), the card will be free.

Need a new computer? I might soon, as my computer gave me the blue screen of death just a couple days ago. This ACER Aspire 15.6″ HD Laptop is very reasonably priced at $359.99 (regularly $379.99) and features:

  • Intel N2920 Quad Core Processor
  • 4GB DDR3 RAM

The Source Canada Coupon: Save Up To 30% During The Friends & Family Event

Posted by on February 13, 2014 at 11:00 PM

The Source Canada Coupon: Save Up To 30% During The Friends & Family EventIt’s that time of year again: The Source’s Friends & Family Sale is currently in full swing and during a couple of days only, you can save up to 30% on select electronics like headphones, batteries, digital cameras, toys and much more.

Shop the Friends & Family Sale @ TheSource.ca now

  • Coupon Code: 039362
  • Discount: Up to 30% off
  • Expiry: 16th February 2014

As usual with The Source’s Friends & Family Sale, all of the same kind of merchandise is available at the exact same discount. At 30% off for instance, you can save on select headphones, batteries, cables and voltage converters.

At 25% off, there is a lot more to choose from with a variety of cases (phones, laptop, tablet etc.), gifts & gadgets and even TV mounts!

Basically, it really depends on what you’re looking to buy as you can save anywhere from 5% to 30% on your purchase. During The Source’s last similar sale, I actually took advantage of the opportunity to save on printer ink, which in my case is for a HP Photosmart printer as it came out to be slightly cheaper than if I were to shop anywhere else. So, depending on what you need, always price compare with other major stores like Walmart, Best Buy, Future Shop or even Amazon.ca!

In an effort to avoid paying the $4.99 shipping when I ordered, I had my purchases sent to the nearest The Source store and to be honest, while that’s great, be prepared for it to not necessarily come all at the same time. I walked into the store on a day that I was just randomly shopping at the mall to see if maybe my order had arrived and turns out it all had, although no one had called me yet. So, I would definitely recommend checking in with them rather than waiting on the call but it could be different at your store as well.

As usual, don’t forget to regularly check our The Source coupons page for upcoming promotions and discounts.

Is there anything you particularly need and might buy at The Source right now?

The Source Canada: $10 GC with $50+ Purchase

The Source Canada: $10 GC with $50+ Purchase

The Source Canada is upgrading their system and this means that orders placed between now and the 29th of January will only start to ship on the 29th. To make up for the inconvenience they are offering a free $10 gift card on all orders over $50.

Only one gift card is allowed per purchase regardless of the purchase amount. Their website is a little ‘off’ right now: as in there is not a lot on it. My guess is they will be repopulating the website with their inventory over the next few days so it is certainly something to watch for.

They also are still having a Deal of The Day each day while they are upgrading the system. Today’s deal is this Nexxtech Sport USB Flash Drive – 16GB that was $24.99 and is now $9.99. The device is magnet-proof, temperature-proof, shock-proof and waterproof. They will just send you a random colour when you order online.

As per usual it is a good idea to get things shipped to your local store to avoid shipping costs. Shipping costs $4.99.

The Source Canada: Refurbished TV Sale

Posted by on January 20, 2014 at 11:00 PM

The Source Canada: Refurbished TV Sale

If you are looking for a new television at a good price I really encourage you to check out The Source’s refurbished TV sale. The TVs come with full product warranty and whatever ‘issues’ they had have been fixed.

There are also some DVD players and portable media players in this sale as well.

I found this fantastic deal on a SAMSUNG LN40E550F7F 40″ LCD TV – REFURBISHED that was originally $749.99 and is now only $349.96. You get 40″ of full 1080p high-definition picture quality for only $350! This is a gem of a deal and is only available online currently.

Another really great deal is another Samsung actually, but this time a Plasma screen instead of an LCD screen. This SAMSUNG 43-INCH 440 PLASMA HDTV – REFURBISHED was $649.99 and is now $319.96. This is a 720p HD television so it is not quite full-HD but it does provide a really nice crisp picture.

If you need something to play all those wonderful movies then pick up the TOSHIBA BDX3400 BLU-RAY AND ONLINE MEDIA PLAYER – REFURBISHED that was $109.99 and is now $64.98.

Hurry, quantities are limited!

You can get free shipping to your local store or pay around $5 for home delivery.

The Source Canada: $40 Off 16GB 5th Gen iPod Touch – Now $189.99

Posted by on December 31, 2013 at 8:30 PM

The Source Canada: $40 Off 16GB 5th Gen iPod Touch Now $189.99

The Source Canada has the best deal on a brand new iPod Touch. The Touch usually costs $229.99 on The Source’s website and it is now on sale for just $189.99.

So I did a little price comparison because Boxing Day deals often get pretty competitive. Apple sells the iPod Touch for $229 so anything under that is a sale. Currently both Best Buy and Future Shop have the iPod Touch 16GB 5th Gen (same unit) on sale for $199.99. Future Shop is currently sold out but all that doesn’t really matter. You can save another $10 by buying your new iPod Touch at The Source instead.

You can get it shipped to your home for free because The Source is currently offering free shipping on purchases of $20 or more. I just added the iPod touch to my cart and it said (when i scrolled down): “Your current order qualifies for FREE Standard shipping.”

Since Apple products don’t often go on sale for very high discounts, $40 off Apple’s price is a pretty sweet on a new Touch. This is only for the black, 5th generation (newest), 16GB version.

The Source Canada: 1 TB Acer HD For $59.99 (Save $60)

Save a huge $60 on this Acer 1TB hard drive at The Source Canada today only! The hard drive is now only $59.99.

This is a one day deal from The Source Canada, and is good for today only. The drive is completely portable at only 2.5 inches thick, and uses a USB 3.0 connector. It is an excellent option for backing up your data while travelling or on business trips. I usually don’t find 1TB hard drives around this price, so I think this is a pretty great deal.

There are limited quantities available so if you want it, act fast. This offer is available both online and in-store, making it a great last minute gift idea. When you buy online you have the choice of paying either $4.99 for shipping, or you can pick it up in store.
