Ten Thousand Villages: Clearance Sale & Free Shipping on $100

Ten Thousand Villages: Clearance Sale & Free Shipping on $100

Ten Thousand Villages never used to have a free shipping minimum, because they didn’t offer free shipping – only flat rate. Well, recently they changed that. Now you can get free shipping on orders of $100 or more. They also have a sweet clearance section for you to check out at the same time.

On sale I found this Sky & Flower Planter that was $30 now marked down to only $9.99. Bring some summer sunshine to your flower pots with this colourful planter. In my house, there is never enough boxes to organize everything, and certainly never enough pretty boxes. This Treasure of India Box was $50 and is now $19.99. This is the kind of box you could have on a shelf for display instead of hidden away under a bed.

If you are looking to dump the heavy tote in favour of a light summer purse for just packing the essentials, check out this Ikat Cotton Purse that was $88 and is now $29.99. Ten Thousand Villages also has a wonderful selection of discounted jewellery including this Manau Stone Necklace that was $40 and is just $9.99 and this Lunar Eclipse Necklace that was $35 and is also now $9.99.

I also wanted to mention this darling Apple Paperweight that was $15 and is now just $5.99. The perfect present for a teacher that will last more than a few days.

Receive free shipping on orders of $100 or more.

Ten Thousand Villages is an amazing store, with extraordinary handcrafted, fair-trade artisan items. They have some gorgeous items and this sale makes them so affordable. The best thing about the sale is that the artisans were still paid the fair full price.

I can’t believe the price of this Leaves and Vines Scarf for only $1.50, regularly $15. The designs were manually block printed and the materials are natural and environmentally friendly.

The Perfection Journal is pure perfection at only $5, regularly $20. I love the embroidery and beading on the cover and the inside holds handmade paper.

For only $1, you can get this gorgeous Leafy Gold Bangle, hand-painted by Indian artisans. Regularly $10.

What I love about Ten Thousand Villages is that you can read the story behind every product. You can feel good about your purchase, knowing it helped out individuals and communities and know exactly how they made your item and why.

Ten Thousand Villages: 75% Off Shea Butter Balm

Have you heard of Ten Thousand Villages? They are all about Fair Trade and natural products. Currently they are offering 75% off their Natural Shea Butter Balm online and in-store for a limited time. Regularly $15 you will only pay $3.99.

Product description:

Feel this wonderful high quality butter balm and experience a taste of south-central Burkina Faso. This pure butter is made into quality cosmetic products in Quebec and marketed exclusively through Ten Thousand villages. Put some on today and feel the difference!

Some friends of mine did the majority of their wedding registry at Ten Thousand Villages, that is how I came to know of the company. Shipping can be a bit high ( was around $11 to ship to Alberta) so I would either check out their clearance section to fill my cart up with goodies or just look around their shop. They do have a ton of fabulous stuff.

Here are some words from Bargainmooser MrChristian from westenddumplings who let me know about this store.

Ten Thousand Villages is a nonprofit, ‘Fair Trade’ organization started by the Mennonite Central Committee in 1996, though the roots of the business go back 50 years before that. They purchase, at fair prices, handicrafts directly from artisans and artisan co-ops in disadvantaged countries around the world and sell them.

In Canada there are 50 stores and another 75 in the US. If you’ve been in one of them you’ll see that it’s an eclectic mix of items: pottery, rugs, masks, blankets, jewellery, clothing, hand-made paper cards. They also market a great Fair Trade coffee and chocolate goods.

I’ve bought a number of gifts there in-person as they have a couple of stores in Winnipeg. You’re guaranteed to find something unique! I have not ordered handicrafts online but have ordered their coffee on-line. For something a bit different it’s worth checking it out if there’s one in your town or just go online.

Thanks for the mini review MrChristian!
