Starting tomorrow, February 6th, Intuit Canada will be offering TurboTax customers free one-on-one live tax advice. This previously cost $15, so a rather nice freebie for anyone who finds doing taxes confusing! Personally I give them to my husband to do.

I also want to remind our Moosers that for many of you – you don’t need to buy your tax software. If your returns are relatively uncomplicated you can use TurboTax’s free online editions to simply file your taxes.

We’ve done a few posts about tax software over the last few weeks, as tax time is getting closer and closer. Another option for you is H&R Block Canada, and they’ve got a coupon code for a 20% discount on their tax software.

Taxes are such a bore, aren’t they? I’ll be frank and admit it that I don’t do mine… I just hand my paperwork to an accountant and he takes care of everything. I help him out by making a spreadsheet of all my monthly incomings and outgoings related to business, but from that point, he’s on his own! It’s a bit lazy to be honest, because I actually was in training to be an accountant before I moved on to another more exciting life of wheeling and dealing… You’d think I would be able to do my own taxes!!
