Swim Shop: Hydro Fit Buoyancy & Resistance Cuffs Were $80 | Now $32

Hello swimmers and aquasize lovers! These Hydro-Fit Buoyancy and Resistance Cuffs were originally $80, and are now on sale for $32 at Swim-Shop Canada.

When it comes to swim gear, price comparisons are a bit difficult as there are few online Canadian shops that sell true athletic swim gear. I had to price compare this set in the USA instead. Keep in mind that this is the price at USA swim retailers, is in US currency, and would not include shipping or duty:

  • $50.55 US @ Aquagear.com
  • $54.95 US @ Hydrofit.com

I could only find them at a few online retailers, but Swim Shop’s price was the best compared to anywhere else. These Hydro cuffs are a multi-use tool for swimming and aquasize. You can use them on your ankles, on your arms, or join them together to put around your torso. They both help keep you afloat in the water and offer added resistance (through drag and weight) so your body is forced to harder during your swimming or workout. Both on amazon.com and through some of the US websites I found very good reviews:

These are a GREAT way to get a good workout in the pool. You can jog, dance, or even do arobics with these “water booties”. They are well built. I am in my second season swimming 3/4 days a week with them. They offer variety from lap swimming and you don’t even have to get your hair wet!

and…

Honestly I think these cuffs are the most clever tool ever created for any aqua fitness work out. Not only do the cuffs give your variety on how you can use them, they are user-friendly and easy to change out to use one of 4 ways, and because they’re so versatile, it cuts down on having to carry bulky equipment to the pool. Brilliant!

You will, of course, need to pay for shipping on these and they are bulky so that will not be cheap (my estimate to Vancouver Island was $18). Shipping costs depend upon where you live. You can add on other stuff from the sale (granted it is not too big or heavy) to spread the shipping charge out over multiple items. I suggest the Cressi Light – Swim Fins that were $38 and are now $15.20, the TYR Mentor Hand Paddles that were $34 and are now $13.60, and TYR Technoflex Vision goggles that were $17 and are now $6.80. There are so many great sale items at Swim-Shop that I could get lost on their website for hours.

Swim Shop Canada: 60% Off Sale

Swim Shop Canada: 60% Off Sale

Swim Shop Canada has released further discounts on their clearance sale. The sale was up to 40% off, and now the sale is 60% off in an attempt to clear out summer stock in time for fall.

I will personally be shopping this sale as I am getting back into the pool again this month after a bit of a break. I am dying to try out these Finis Agility Paddles that were $30 and are now on sale for $12. I have a rather lousy stroke. It is inconsistent at best and can aggravate my muscles at worst. I have heard that using hand paddles can help correct your stroke as it helps you concentrate on how your hands are entering the water, as well as your pull through and your exit. These are still available in sizes large, medium, and small.

I have never worn fins, but I see many swimmers doing so in the pool. Using fins increases leg strength (which I could certainly use). These TYR Flex Fins are on sale from $54 down to $20.80. They are in men’s sizes, for women’s you need to size down by one. I would also be interested in trying out these TYR Split Fins as they create lift and help reduce ankle fatigue. Originally $64, they are now on sale for $25.60.

Are you looking for a new swim cap? Forget the matte or glossy solid colour cap and have a little fun. Both the TYR Smile Face Cap – WHITE and the TYR Don’t Worry Swim Happy Cap are on sale for only $4 apiece, originally $10.

I am interested in picking up the Speedo Pull Buoy II for $7.60 (was $19) to help maintain proper body alignment and increase my upper body strength. However, the big thing on my wish list is the SportCount Lap Counter . I hate losing track of the lap number I am on or wondering if I just finished counting six or seven. It really drives me up the wall! This awesome device would keep track of the laps for me so I can just chill out in the water. Originally $43.90, the lap counter is now on sale for $17.56.

Shipping varies on location and content of cart but it is reasonable for what you buy. All my current swimming gear except for my swimsuits is from this company and I was quite pleased with their service and prices.

Swim-Shop Canada: Specials on Swim Suits & Gear

Swim Shop Canada: Specials on Swim Suits & Gear

Swim-Shop  is a Canadian company I have mentioned before. They sell everything an avid or leisure swimmer needs for enjoying the water. As swim season is upon us, I though I would mention some of the great sales they have on right now.

They currently have sales on women and men’s swim suits, and on electronics and other equipment.

I found this Dolfin Female Chloroban Solid Reversible Cross Back  on sale from $72 down to $36. Most the swimsuits in the women’s section are all 50% off so if you do not see your size in this suit, you can always look at the others to see if they have your size. For serious swimmers, this Dolfin Male Chloroban Team Solid Jammer is on sale from $52 down to $26 in select sizes only.

I actually bought all my swim gear from this shop and have been pretty happy with it so far. These TYR Tracer Racing Optical were $34 and are now on sale for $17. I find I go through goggles pretty often because the chlorine eats away at the band so I am always looking for deals on them.

If you are looking to get in shape via swimming, try out the Speedo Aqua Fitness Combo Set  that was $64 and is now only $32. I haven’t tried water aerobics yet, but it looks like it would be good fun and a great workout because the water offers extra resistance and yet is easy on the joints.

Shipping varies on location and content of cart.

Swim-shop.ca: Sale On Swimming Gear

Swim shop.ca: Sale On Swimming Gear

I am a swimmer and I have found most places that sell swimwear to be highly inadequate for my needs. I recently ran across the Swim-shop.ca and am really impressed with their sale prices and selection.

I am pretty close to running out of swimming shampoo and hair conditioner. It is important if you swim 2 – 3 x a week to have special shampoo and conditioner to take the chlorine out of your hair. The stuff I currently have runs $18 a bottle. I am interested in this H20 Swim Shampoo for $14.36.

What really caught my eye was the sale prices in their specials section; check out these deals:

Sizes are limited, but there is a great selection of swimsuits, goggles, and other swim accessories on sale. Are you a swimmer? Where do you get your gear from?

I actually need new goggles – mine are just about on their last legs. I also am about to run out of shampoo/conditioner. I have been debating for the longest time over getting some flippers but have never swam with them – any thoughts?

Shipping varies on location and content of cart. The company is Canadian owned – yay!
