Where To Get Your Star Wars Gear For Back To School

Where To Get Your Star Wars Gear For Back To School

My kids are so not impressed about having to go back to school. I’m sure many others aren’t either. I remember that I wasn’t ever really that excited about it as a kid. To get me excited for school, my mom would take me back to school shopping for clothing and that always helped lighten me up. My boys are not shoppers, so this would not work for them. But, they do love Star Wars and my thinking is that if I could get them some cool Star Wars apparel for back to school, it would make them more excited. The problem is, it seems somewhat hard to find!

I’ve put together a list of stores that carry Star Wars themed clothing and gear, so I can help other moms like myself in shopping for this popular clothing. Read the rest of this entry »

(Save 70%!) Part Yoda, Part Yo-yo? Yomega Yomen Toy Was $26 | Now $8 @ (EXPIRED)

(Save 70%!) Part Yoda, Part Yo yo? Yomega Yomen Toy Was $26 | Now $8 @ (EXPIRED)

May the force be with you and the string stay untangled. Check out the awesome Yomega Yomen Yoda Yo-yo I found today that is 70% off! This yo-yo with stand was $25.75 but is now only $7.83.

Bargainmoosers, I have a treat for you today like none other. I will admit that doing yo-yo tricks is not currently high up on my list of skills. With this yo-yo, I may just have to try. Check out this Yomega Yomen Yoda yo-yo. That is fun to say three times fast. This amazing yo-yo is part cool toy, part Yoda collectable figurine.

Now normally I just leave my yo-yos lying around, but this yo-yo encourages you to put it back on the display stand when you are done playing. With Yoda’s head on the yo-yo, Yoda will fully shows off his stance once the yo-yo is put back on the base. Included is a fireball yo-yo, which from skimming the web seems to be known as a beginner yo-yo for those of you interested in learning tricks.

After quite a bit of searching, I did manage to find one other place in Canada you can purchase this toy. Over at Mastermind Toys, this Yoda yo-yo is selling for $24.99. That is the only major Canadian retailer I found who carries this product. Over the border in the US, is selling this Yoda yo-yo for $14.48 USD, and you would have to pay shipping to Canada and possible duty fees. This is a much better deal at right now.

There are no reviews that I can find on the Canadian side of the border for this yo-yo. Over at, there are six reviews and they all seem happy with the purchase. Buyers are reporting that is a sturdy design overall so you should not have to worry about it falling apart or the lightsaber breaking off right away. Several people are noting that their kids loved the toy.

This item does qualify for free super saver shipping at $25, so I would suggest pairing it with another item. If you have bought into Amazon Prime, it ships free. If you have multiple kids, four of these yo-yos purchased together ship free. If you have a huge Star Wars fan, there are several other yo-yo designs on but they are not on sale. Shipping if you want just one yo-yo is $4.59, which is still cheaper than if you purchase this at Mastermind Toys or Amazon in the US.

If you have a Star Wars fan in your house, I may have just found your next present. Though it is early to whisper this, I would stash this unique item away for the holidays. You could also use this to liven up the end of summer boredom that sometimes sets in. I think this is a perfect gift for kids age seven to twelve, or for the serious Star Wars fan.

May the 4th Be With You Deals Today

May the 4th be with you today. You don’t have to be a fan of Star Wars to celebrate today, and you definitely don’t have to be a fan to get in on the deals that come along with today being May the 4th. I’ve compiled a sweet little list of some stores having Star Wars and May the 4th deals and you just might want to take a look.

Lets start with Chapters Indigo. They’ve got a few Star Wars items on sale, like this Star Wars Darth Vader roto bust bank. Cute for your dresser, plus functional for saving money, this item is on sale for $15, from $21.54. Amazon sells it too, for $21.48. There are also a couple of books on sale as well that you might want to take a look at.

Amazon is also cashing in on May the 4th day. They’ve got a ton of items on sale that look so fun and perfect for the Star Wars loving Dad on your Father’s Day list. One item of note may be this C3PO watch with minifigure that is regularly $27.99 and now $14.99. Truth be told, C3PO is my favourite character, so I would love this watch. My kids have Star Wars watches like these and they love them. They are also very durable (believe me, I know!).

ThinkGeek is your Star Wars store. They’ve got Star Wars items and this May the 4th, they’ve got a free collectible pin with your Star Wars orders over $20 and the promo code TENPACES. Also, until the end of today, they’ve also got all Star Wars items 20% off. Note that they ship from the U.S.

What do sex toys and Star Wars have in common? Not much, just that you can use the coupon code MAY4 to get 20% off your order at Pink Cherry. You’re welcome.

Shop for your Lovable Labels tonight and get 50% off sticker labels and slimline labels in honour of May the 4th. This deal ends at 5am tomorrow morning, so if you up late with a crying baby tonight, now you’ve got something to do.

Send a free Hallmark e-card to your beloved wookie today. Then enter coupon code MAY4 to get 20% off subscriptions. There are also more options to send more Star Wars e-cards for free.

Shop the U.S. Disney Store to get 30% off your Star Wars items like really cool shirts, lunch totes and toys.

I think I’ve got you covered with all sorts of unique ideas on how to celebrate May the 4th today. Who is your favourite Star Wars character?

Lego Kits 20% Off + Stack $10 Off $40 Coupon Code & Free Shipping @

Toys R Us is having a sale that takes 20% off many Lego kits and includes the Star Wars, Lego City and Chima Lego lines. Spend $40 and you can stack a coupon code that will take an additional $10 off your order. Free shipping is available for all orders over $25.

Toys R Us is having a sale on Lego right now offering up 20% off many of their Lego Kits. Taking a quick browse through the selection, I am seeing a nice assortment that includes many kits in the Star Wars, Lego City and Chima lines. Lego is such a great toy for boys and girls. Even with one small girl, we can never seem to have enough Legos in the house. These kits are super cool with lots of detail, especially for older kids. Who am I kidding, my husband would dig those Star Wars kits also.

Here are the three Lego kits I threw in my basket.

These kits would have added up to $50.97 but now add up to a grand total of $40.71.

Lego Kits 20% Off + Stack $10 Off $40 Coupon Code & Free Shipping @

Let’s make this deal even sweeter. Use the coupon code CINEPLEXHOLIDAY and you will receive $10 off your order of $40 or more. With that coupon code, that makes my order a grand total of $30.71 plus free shipping! If you are quick at math you can see that averages out to about $10 per kit. That is an amazing price on Lego. You can see my final price in my cart below.

Lego Kits 20% Off + Stack $10 Off $40 Coupon Code & Free Shipping @

The closer you keep this deal to a $40 shopping cart, the better the deal is. There are so many cool sets to choose from I am sure you can find something fun to enjoy. I may just snag a Star Wars one for the hubby for Valentine’s Day. This is a smoking hot deal for Legos!

If I would buy the same Lego kits at Chapters Indigo it would cost me the following.

  • Lego City Monster Truck- $12.95
  • Lego City Flexible Tracks- not available
  • Lego Star Wars Millennium Falcon- $12.95

Grab this deal while it is hot folks. The sale does not specify how long it will be available at Toys R Us. I would act fast before the set I wanted was out of stock.

Just Released! Star Wars Comic Books Were $140 | Now $79.80 & Free Shipping @ Chapters Canada

Just Released! Star Wars Comic Books Were $140 | Now $79.80 & Free Shipping @ Chapters Canada

Star Wars and comic book fans should check out this fantastic new release. Star Wars: The Original Marvel Years Omnibus Volume 1 was $140 but now is only $79.80 plus this order qualifies for free shipping.

Marvel just released on January 27th, a brand new re-mastered volume of all of the Star Wars Comic books #1-44. This massive omnibus is a fully bound hardcover edition. If you love the original Star Wars comics from the 70’s or are a big fan of the movies, now is your opportunity to relive all the original details.

In order to receive this great price you must join Chapters’ free rewards program- Plum. Chapters will give you an option to join during your purchase if you are not already a member during the checkout process. You cannot checkout as a guest to join, you must have or create an account to use the free rewards program discount. If you choose not to join the Plum rewards program the price of the book will go up to $84.

This release goes hand in hand with the license for Star Wars comic books returning to Marvel after having a home at Dark Horse Media for over 20 years. To read a little more about the announcement of this new compilation volume, check out this article at is part of the SyFy channel and they surely have the scoop.

Here is a little more info about what to expect from this massive comic book compellation according to

It’s the return of the Jedi to Marvel in this opening volume. The rebels face a wealth of new perils. Luke goes back to Tatooine, Leia battles alone, Han and Chewie play the deadly Big Game and Darth Vader hunts for answers! Revisit all your old favorites and discover some new ones!

This Star Wars omnibus edition is still very new and is only available at few stores in Canada currently. Amazon has this edition for $88.20 plus free shipping and claims to be able to have it to me by February 6th. Though the deal is still a little sweeter at Chapters Canada, Chapters is estimating 3-5 weeks for delivery. I suspect though this book was just released, it is taking a little longer to physically hit Canadian shelves. Your other option is to order this book on Ebay for $189 USD. Ebay estimates this would be $234 Canadian. I guess everyone is looking to make a buck.

Reviews are not readily available yet. Very few Canadians have this edition right now as it was just released. There is one extremely long review about how great the entire Star Wars series is on This part of the review sums up the reviewers thoughts on this new compilation for those of us who are not super fans.

This book comes very highly recommended. May the Force be with you, always!

This order qualifies for free shipping  as it is over the $25 limit, though as I mentioned they are estimating a 3-5 week delivery range.

Amazon Canada: Star Wars Rebel Command Star Destroyer was $60 | Now $30 (EXPIRED)

Posted by on December 11, 2014 at 9:08 AM

Amazon Canada: Star Wars Rebel Command Star Destroyer was $60 | Now $30 (EXPIRED)

The Star Wars Rebel Command Star Destroyer is now just $29.99 at Amazon, originally at $59.99. Save 50% now. Complete your collection and imagine you’re right in the movie with this model.

While I’m not a Star Wars fanatic (liked it enough to quote, but not enough for cosplay!) there are lots of kids and adults who would love to have this set wrapped up in a box this holiday. This set includes a lot of figurines along with the remote controlled ship including:

  • Luke Skywalker
  • Darth Vader
  • 3 Rebel Soldiers
  • 3 Stormtroopers
  • Star Destroyer
  • 4 Energy Blast Balls
  • Command Controller

The galaxy and its fate is in your hands. Fight storm troopers, crush the rebellion, and take on the Imperial Army.  Or just drive it around the room imagining you’re flying through space and chasing the family dog, I mean Darth Vader. This set will spark great imaginative play.

Often sets just give you a limited amount of pieces but this set seems to have a nice mix to start a battle right in the middle of your living room without a bunch of add on sets. It also includes an exclusive Luke Skywalker figurine to add to your collection so you know you’ll have a piece that’s new even for the most fanatic fan. The ship has a command control that you can use to send it flying forward into crushing battle, or backward for retreat. It can fire up to all four energy blast balls in a row for a little rapid fire play.

This toy says 5 and up, but let’s be real, the big kids will have just as much fun with this set. Set up battle in your living room or display it in your office, most star wars fans, big and small will love this toy. It’s a great toy for the kids, Dad, Aunt Sally, and the whole family to play together.

Snag this at Amazon, it also qualifies for free super saver shipping. At Toys R Us you’re going to pay $35 for the same set, and at Sears if you didn’t check your numbers you’d pay $55. This is a great saving in this toy at 50% off.

So Bargainmoosers are you with Luke Skywalker, or do you fight for the Dark Side?

Sears Canada: Star Wars R2-D2 Interactive Astromech Droid | Was $200 Now $100

Posted by on November 19, 2014 at 9:25 AM

Sears Canada: Star Wars R2 D2 Interactive Astromech Droid | Was $200 Now $100

Now this would be the ultimate gift for any Star Wars fan! At this time, Sears is having a great sale on this Star Wars R2-D2 Interactive Astromech Droid – you can get 50% off the retail price! This fantastic piece of interactive Star Wars merchandise normally sells for $199.99, but you can now pick up this awesome R2-D2 for just $99.99! Plus, you’ll also qualify for free shipping! Is 100 dollars the right price to make someone have a fantastic Christmas memory for many years to come? I think it is!

The Star Wars R2-D2 Interactive Astromech Droid has some really cool features! This R2-D2 figure responds to voice commands, and can even “dance”, play music, react to famous Star Wars characters, and so much more! You can even play some games with this interactive R2-D2, and it also has a sweet light beam, sound processing microphones for voice commands, and infra-red location sensors – this way, R2-D2 can find and follow you!

This Star Wars R2-D2 Interactive Astromech Droid even has a secret storage compartment, a droid mood status indicator, and a rotating dome. You can put R2-D2 in sentry mode to guard your stuff, and you could even swing down its utility arm so it can hold beverages for you – wouldn’t you want R2-D2 to bring you a nice refreshing can of Coke, or even a beer? Now that’s cool!

If you wanted to buy this Star Wars R2-D2 Interactive Astromech Droid from Toys R Us, it would cost you $149.97, and it’s $158.98 US if you buy it from an American WalMart location. I’ve included a snippet of a review of this device from a satisfied WalMart customer below:

The robot works splendid! It takes a few times to get it to understand you but once you understand how to work with it, it’s worth the money. It’s definitely something to collect if you’re a Star Wars fan.

May the force be with you, and happy hunting!

Amazon Canada: $70 Off Star Wars The Complete Saga Episodes I-VI Blu-Ray Box Set

Posted by on August 14, 2014 at 10:00 PM

Amazon Canada: $70 Off Star Wars The Complete Saga Episodes I VI Blu Ray Box SetMay the force be with you as you take advantage of an awesome deal on a Star Wars box set. For a limited time, you can save $70 on the Star Wars: The Complete Saga (episodes I-VI) box set in Blu-ray and get it for just $89.99 (reg. $159.99). It comes up to 44% off the original price.

Even better is that this is a Blu-Ray version. Even though technology has widely moved onto Blu-Ray, DVDs are usually the ones being discounted, so it’s nice to see a deal on one of the most popular franchises in the world. When it comes to DVDs or Blu-Rays, I definitely only ever choose Blu-Rays, especially for high action and popular movies.

With a total of nine discs, six of the discs in this box set are:

  • Episode 1: The Phantom Menace
  • Episode 2: Attack of the Clones
  • Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith
  • Episode 4: A New Hope
  • Episode 5: The Empire Strikes Back
  • Episode 6: Return of the Jedi

The other three discs features extra and deleted scenes:

  • Star War Archives: episodes 1-3
  • Star Wars Archies: episode 4-6
  • The Star Wars Documentaries

This Blu-Ray had actually been very much anticipated, and has over 150 reviews with a total consensus of 4.4 stars out of 5. Here’s what one reviewer had to say about it:

Star Wars on Blu-ray…it took a lot less time than Star Wars on DVD! And in special features and deleted scenes alone, it was well worth the wait. You can’t do a box set like this without the bonus of unseen footage. The good news is, The Complete Saga is loaded with unseen special features and deleted scenes. In fact, the Tosche Station scene is worth the purchase alone. It’s that great.

I have to admit that even though I’m not the biggest Star Wars fan, I can certainly appreciate a good deal when I see one. However, Star Wars fans should keep in mind the following review:

The original trilogy (without any 1997 added special effects, that is) isn’t there (that was to be expected), but also, the special features of Episodes 4, 5 and 6 (the documentaries, interviews, trailers, etc.) isn’t here anymore. Episodes 1, 2 and 3’s second discs are nowhere to be found either.

Plus, since Amazon typically ships orders over $25 for free, you’re also sure not to pay any added shipping fees.

Black Milk Clothing: 30% Off Licensed Star Wars Clothing

Posted by on May 4, 2014 at 12:00 PM

Black Milk Clothing: 30% Off Licensed Star Wars Clothing

Black Milk Clothing is an Australian company that has quickly developed a cult-like following. On this May the 4th, get 30% off (prices as shown) their licensed Star Wars clothing (excluding shooters) that is to die for.

A little clarification on terminology so you don’t think I have gone a little screwy: nomming (or ‘to nom’) is what fans of Black Milk do when they purchase Black Milk Clothing. Fans of Black Milk are called ‘Sharkies’ because of their awesome nomming skills that crashed JL’s server back when Black Milk was just a wee company of shiny nylon goodness. Before the Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Game of Thrones releases. Just saying.

Black Milk Clothing is my holy grail of clothing stores. I wear an item from Black Milk about five out of every seven days of the week. I may not be a huge Star Wars fan but I have had my eye on this Artoo Swimsuit ever since I found the company. The swimsuit originally cost $100 and I just bought it (OMG so excited I am!) for $70 AUD (works out to around $72 CAN).

I was sorely tempted to buy these Star Wars Montage leggings because they are just… AHHHHH! The best!! Get all your favourite characters in one set of hot and high quality leggings. Originally $85 they are now on sale for $59 AUD.

The Australian dollar and the Canadian dollar are pretty close to each other: CAN $1 = AUD 0.982. You also get free shipping on all orders to Canada but you can be subject to duty. Some suggestions from an old pro:

  1. Order each item separately
  2. Choose free standard shipping
  3. Exercise patience young padawan. I have waited anywhere from 4 – 8 weeks for my package to arrive.

Now go get some awesome gear. If you do buy anything, leave me a note in the comments telling me what you get! I would love to know.

Best Buy Canada: 15% Off Select Lego Series Including Star Wars, The Hobbit, LoTR & More!

Posted by on June 19, 2013 at 1:30 PM

Best Buy Canada: 15% Off Select Lego Series Including Star Wars, The Hobbit, LoTR & More!

According to Lehigh University the Death Star would cost about $850,000,000,000,000,000 to build. You can build your own Star Wars gear out of LEGO for much cheaper, and get 15% off at Best Buy Canada!

It’s not only Star Wars LEGO (sets starting at $12.99) that is on sale. You can also get Chima (starting at $14.99), Friends (starting at $5.99), City (starting at $8.99), The Hobbit (starting at $34.99) and Lord of the Rings LEGO sets (larger sets starting at $74.99). What better way to get your kids ready for the new Star Wars or the upcoming Hobbit movies, or even to get them into past properties like, of course, the original Star Wars or the LotR movies? Even the LotR books would be cooler with LEGO.

I suspect a lot of parents are going to dig these too. I know I can’t wait for my boy to be at LEGO-building age. I used to play with these sets all the time as a kid, so having an excuse to drop tons of money on sweet toys is gonna be great. Even if you don’t have kids, it can be a great hobby. We spend so much time playing video games and watching shows, that using LEGO as a tactile, physical hobby would be a great idea. It’s like the super-awesome version of your grandmother doing puzzles on the kitchen table.

Shipping on orders over $20 is free. Under $20, it depends on what you get and where you are, but a $13 Star Wars LEGO set costs less than $3 to ship to me.

December 7 50% Off Star Wars: The Complete Saga (Episodes I-IV) Box Set

Posted by on December 7, 2012 at 8:30 AM 50% Off Star Wars: The Complete Saga (Episodes I IV) Box Set

Before I go on, I need to tell you something. As we speak, this very instant, I am wearing a Star Trek shirt. I just wanted to get that out there before I told you about the awesome deal that Amazon Canada has on the nine disc blu-ray collection of Star Wars.

The pack was $159.99 but you save $80 and come out only having to pay $79.99.

For you folks who have been living under a rock without an Internet connection, Star Wars was recently bought by Disney. They’ve already announced that they are making three new movies and the writers attached to said movies.

So what better way to get ready for the mere potential of impending awesome than to watch the original six spread out over nine gloriously high quality blu-ray discs? Well, killing a wookie and mounting his head on the wall would be cool but you have those weak triceps from spending too much time on your computer looking up pictures of Princess Leia in the gold bikini. You could never support a gun. You might as well watch gold-bikini-Princess-Leia in blu-ray, right?

Shipping: Depends on quantity and type of items.

October 31 Up to 46% off LEGO Watches and Clocks!

Posted by on October 31, 2012 at 9:00 AM Up to 46% off LEGO Watches and Clocks!

Telling time hasn’t been this cool since you got your first Timex Ironman watch! Amazon Canada is bringing block-based awesome to Bargainmoose, for less!

There are a ton of cool clocks and watches here. These are a few:

I don’t know who LEGO has working for them but that person is genius. Lately they have been expanding like crazy. They’ve always been a proliferating force in that they always have new sets of blocks and new ideas. It’s only been recently that they have been getting into other forms of media. Instead of only selling physical blocks, they are selling the look of their blocks. The example that first came to mind is the LEGO games. LEGO Batman, LEGO Star Wars, etc.. These games have nothing to do with LEGO blocks other than that the world and characters look like they are made of LEGO. More recently is the Ninjago TV show. And now we have LEGO clocks and watches.

Part of my son’s Christmas gift is that we are turning the spare bedroom into his new room and it’s going to be very, very cool. Perhaps a Buzz Lightyear LEGO alarm clock would be the finishing touch we need!
