Staples Canada Customer Appreciation Days: 10% Discount In Store (Printable Coupon)

Here on the Bargainmoose blog, we have to decide what to write about on a daily basis. All deals have to be judged by a number of factors including past deals from the company, competitors offerings, price comparisons and other factors like this. It’s not often we would simply blog a 10% coupon just for the sake of it, but I am deciding to do so in this case for the Staples customer appreciation weekend. With this printable coupon, you can get a 10% discount off most items in-store!

Exclusions in brief: Saturday doorcrashers, postage stamps, computer rentals, copying, gift cards, activity packages, phone cards, Bose items or previous purchases. Excludes Quebec.

For the above coupon, it’s likely that you have to print it out and take it to the store with you rather than just showing it on your smartphone. The coupon on it is one of the generic 5 digit staples coupons, so it’s usable by anyone (it’s only the 16 digit Staples coupons that are one-time use only).

So as I said, while a simple 10% coupon doesn’t sound super-hot in and of itself, it can actually be used to your advantage. It’s not very often that Staples offer a percentage coupon discount which can be used by anyone on almost any item in-store.

One of the hot items that you can use this printable coupon on is the iPad Air 2. If you’ve been holding out on a good price on this item, now is a good time to go in-store and get one. The basic model of the iPad Air 2 is $549 from the Apple Store online. With the above coupon for Staples, you can get the iPad Air 2 for only $494. It’s rare that you can ever get Apple products at a discount, so this is definitely worth a mention!

This coupon is a real boon if there are some big-ticket items you’ve been meaning to buy. Before you head out to the store though, do your price comparisons online to make sure you’re getting the best possible deal.

Staples Canada: 10% Off Toner & Additional $20 off $100

Posted by on April 27, 2015 at 10:00 AM

Staples Canada: 10% Off Toner & Additional $20 off $100

Staples has a great deal on right now that will get you all stocked up on toner. First, they’ve got 10% off HP, Canon and Brother toner cartridges. Then, when you get your items into the cart, you can click the links below to get yourself a unique coupon code that will get you an additional $20 off your $100 purchase.

Click here to shop the toner sale @ now

Click here to get your coupon for $20 off $100 on toners

Because there are so many different types of toner depending on your printer, I can’t go and list the deductions you’ll get for each one. I will find a few and give you some price comparisons though, because it is nice to see what you will really be saving.

Just a regular everyday toner cartridge like the HP 98A black toner, this item is regularly $173.50 at Staples. That is already a lower price than the competitors I found it selling at. Now, add an extra 10% off, bringing it down to $156.15. Then, add your unique coupon code above, which brings the total down to $136.15 including shipping.

As a price comparison for this cartridge, I found this exact one at Costco for $169.99, Canada Computers for $179.99, and at HP for $187.99. You are saving a minimum of $30 on this item alone.

If you do have a few toners you’d like to buy, you might be best to do separate orders, as you only get the one $20 coupon off.

Don’t get fooled like I did, and think that this sale is on all ink for your printer. This sale is only on toners and not inks, which means it is only for laser printers. Considering I don’t even have my own printer and my husband buys the ink for his, I had no idea there was actually a difference. This is what happens when you don’t work outside your home for over ten years!

Because you’ll be spending over $100, your shipping will be free on this Staples purchase.

Staples Canada: Royal Sovereign 8-Sheet Personal Micro Cut Shredder Was $170 | Now $70

Posted by on April 20, 2015 at 8:07 AM

Staples Canada: Royal Sovereign 8 Sheet Personal Micro Cut Shredder Was $170 | Now $70

Now that tax time is over, you might have a bunch of documents you want to get rid of. You don’t want to throw them in the garbage and definitely not in the recycling, as your personal information is all over them. What do you do? You shred them. With prices as low as $69.99, regularly $169.99, how can you not ensure your personal safety with a Royal Sovereign 8-sheet capacity personal micro cut shredder from Staples?

Shredding eight sheets at a time is so handy, otherwise you really could be sitting there for hours. Your documents shred into teeny tiny micro pieces so there is no chance of pasting those bits back to together. The waste bin is large so you don’t have to change it very often as well.

As soon as you put the paper into the machine, it starts shredding and stops when it is done and there is an auto reverse in case of paper jam.

Just to show you the deal that this is, I found this exact model at Home Depot selling for more than Staples original price of $170, selling for $199. Walmart also sells it for much more than regular price, now at $239, but it is out of stock.

This item will also ship for free. I don’t see any reviews I can tell you about, but what can you say about a shredder? Shreds up my pieces quite nicely?

As luck would have it, Staples also has individual coupons right now, which could potentially reduce your costs on this purchase. What I mean by individual coupons is that you’ll have to follow the links on that coupon page to get yourself to a page where you can request to be sent an individual coupon. They have a save $20 on $150 in office supplies, which could potentially be used on this shredder (and some other items with a total of $150). Otherwise, you could use the $20 off $100 using Visa checkout as well. If you don’t feel like spending more to save more, this deal stands up on its own as it is.

Staples Canada: $20 off $100 with Visa Checkout (EXPIRED)

Posted by on April 9, 2015 at 3:44 PM

Staples Canada: $20 off $100 with Visa Checkout (EXPIRED)

We have a new Staples Canada promotion for you – and it is just lovely! Receive $20 off your order of $100 or more when you pay with Visa Checkout.

Visa checkout is a ‘digital wallet’ service akin to Paypal Canada. We have seen a few Visa Checkout promotions before from the likes of Cineplex and from Newegg. The instructions are simple:

  • Your cart must total $100 or more before taxes
  • Choose Visa Checkout as your checkout option
  • Sign up via the ‘create account’ button if you have not already
  • Complete your purchase (pay with a Visa card)

You only need to sign up for an account once – so if you signed up for an account with the Cineplex offer or with the Newegg offer, then you can skip that step. The discount will be automatically applied at checkout.

There is always going to be a bit of fine print. This deal cannot be used to buy postage stamps, downloadable software or services, computer rentals, self-serve copying, gift cards, phone cards, getaway packages, or Bose products. The last one hurts because I am dying to buy a Bose speaker!

The deals centre is a great place to start looking. This Five Star Style Poly Binder, 1.5″ was $6.99 and is now on sale for just $1. Pick up all the binders your kids will ever need for school all in one purchase.

I live by a heater all winter and into the spring. This Honeywell® Whole-Room Ceramic-Core Comfort Heater looks like a gorgeous unit for warming my entire living room! Originally $89.96, the heater is now on sale for $67.47. I price compared this heater at Amazon Canada where it retails for $79.99. Not only are you getting a better price on the unit, you will save further money with the $20 off $100 offer via Visa checkout.

I could not find this CyberpowerPC V3 Voltair 800-1800 RPM CPU Cooling Fan at many other places, but it looks to be a good deal. Originally $139.99, the cooling fan is on sale for $69.99. I did find it at a US store for around $95 CDN – but shipping and duties would certainly jack that price up.

There are many great deals like this throughout the Staples Canada website. As the $20 off $100 deal necessitates you spend over $45, shipping to your home will also be free.

Staples Canada: Lug Tuk-Tuk Carry-All Bag Was $113 | Now $69 & Free Shipping

Posted by on April 8, 2015 at 2:55 PM

Staples Canada: Lug Tuk Tuk Carry All Bag Was $113 | Now $69 & Free Shipping

Staples has a sale on right now on the Lug Tuk-Tuk carry-all bag, regularly $113, now $79.10. If you click through this link, you’ll also get a unique exclusive coupon code for $10 off $75, which you can use on this purchase (or any other purchase) at Staples. That brings the total for this bag down to $69.10.

When I first saw this bag, I thought it looked like the perfect bag for travelling. With lots of pockets and plenty of room inside, I could probably carry my laptop, phone, tablet, pens and beauty supplies along with me easily. I was a little surprises to find out it is also a diaper bag. You don’t have to use it as a diaper bag, but it is so functional, it doesn’t matter what you put in it – I guess that’s why it is labelled as a “carry-all”.

I refused to carry a traditional diaper bag when my kids were small. I liked to travel light and didn’t think they needed every creature comfort from home just to go to the grocery store. I breastfed so that was taken care of. I kept diapers and wipes in my vehicle and I usually brought along one small toy to play with. I would have been in trouble if there were any accidents, which really only happened to me once with baby and to myself (like the time my child spilled an entire cup of chocolate milk on me at a restaurant) a few times.

But, this type of bag I would definitely carry. I could keep an extra outfit for babe, plus my phone and laptop if I so needed to! This bag is stylish looking and even with the included change pad, I wouldn’t feel embarrassed taking it to a fancy restaurant. I like that it is water repellant and has a hidden (perfect!) strap for strapping it on to the stroller.

I found this bag as much more expensive prices at Lug Life, where it is $124; at SnuggleBugz, where it is $103.99 and at Amazon, where it is $113.

Shipping will also be free on this bag.

Staples Canada: $25 Credit with New Staples Credit Card

Posted by on March 28, 2015 at 8:00 AM

Staples Canada: $25 Credit with New Staples Credit Card

While many of us prefer not to use credit cards, other people manage to earn rewards from their credit cards without ever paying fees. Thus, I am always on the lookout for good credit card bonuses. Right now, Staples Canada is offering $25 credit back when you a) open a Staples Credit Card account and b) make your first purchase of $75 or more.

There are two accounts to choose from depending upon your needs.

Business Account

The business account is good for those who own small businesses. There is no annual fee and you can request additional cards at no extra cost. You also receive detailed account statements so you can track spending and know which card has bought what items. While it says you have the ability to carry a balance if needed, we always encourage Moosers and Moose Businesses to pay off their credit cards every month.

Personal Account

The majority of our Moosers will want to choose the personal Staples credit card account. This credit card has no annual fee. You will manage your statement and account online.

To get your bonus $25 account credit, you need to place a net transaction of $75 or more – in a single purchase – before taxes and shipping fees. The account credit will be applied in the month following this promotion ending – so May.

There is also a really interesting payment plan service offered by Staples. Here is what they say:

If the financing is not paid in full by the due date shown on the statement of account, it is converted into a purchase payable by equal and consecutive monthly payments (included in the minimum payment due on the credit card), calculated from the payment due date, at the annual interest rate for the financing plan offered by the merchant

I have not seen this feature on many other cards – and I am not sure how handy it will be. I tend to pay my credit card off every month so this has never been an issue. However, I would like to hear your opinions on this credit card feature.

The only thing I don’t like about this credit card is the lack of rewards. There does not appear to be a point system or cash back built into the credit card. Once you receive your $25 bonus, that appears to be it for rewards.

Staples Canada: Eco-Responsible Multiuse Paper Was $60 | Now $39 (FS @ $45)

Posted by on March 26, 2015 at 9:57 AM

Staples Canada: Eco Responsible Multiuse Paper Was $60 | Now $39 (FS @ $45)

Staples has a huge one-day sale going on today and one of the most practical and best deals that I saw was on the Staples FSC-certified eco-responsible multiuse paper. Get a case of this 20lb 8 1/2 x 11 paper for only $38.96, with a regular price of $59.96, for a saving of $21 for 5,000 sheets of paper.

Paper is probably not something you are super excited to shop for, but it is something we all use. Most of us have printers at home and at the office and we probably go through paper like it is going out of style. While I try to use every square inch of paper that I use before recycling, it still seems to fly out of our house and we have to restock often.

Staples seems to be the place to buy paper, as when I tried to shop around, they were one of the only stores that came up. That makes total sense, as it is an office supply store. I also see that most of their cases of paper are around the $60 mark.

What’s great about this paper is that it eco-responsible, which means it is made from responsibly harvested trees and is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council. It is also free of acid and elemental chlorine, so it is safer all around.

You’ll also be happy to know it is made in Canada.

As for performance, it has a special ColorLok technology that makes your colours up to 30% brighter and bolder and dries fast.

For paper, I was shocked to see that it had 79 reviews. This tells me people are passionate about this product, and have given it a total of 4.5 stars out of five. I found it funny that the most negative review was actually a good review.

Staples Canada: Eco Responsible Multiuse Paper Was $60 | Now $39 (FS @ $45)

Because Staples has free shipping at $45, you’ll want to check out what else is available during the one day sale to avoid this charge. You only need to add a few more dollars to not have to pay a few more dollars in unnecessary charges.

You could take a look at these Bounty select-a-size paper towels that were $10.99 and now $6.59. Another very handy item to have (I have one right beside my desk) is a legal size recycling bin. This was $9.22, now $5.99.

Staples Canada: 88% Off Purell Hand Sanitizer Dispenser – Now Just $1 (HOT!)

Posted by on March 22, 2015 at 9:37 AM

Staples Canada: 88% Off Purell Hand Sanitizer Dispenser Now Just $1 (HOT!)

Can’t get enough of Purell? I can’t get enough of this amazing deal on the Purell FMX manual foam hand sanitizer dispenser. Originally priced at $8.31, it’s now down to just $0.99, which boils down to $7.32 in savings (88% off).

This hand sanitizer dispenser would be perfect for any office, especially since it’s super easy to install and you could get a couple of these to install in every room. Offices are known to be sickness cesspools, so this dispenser would definitely be a great way to try and mitigate that little problem. Here’s what one reviewer had to say about this handy dispenser:

Good product. Installs easily on the wall in a couple of minutes. Very sturdy, looks good. The foam canister slips in only one way making it even easier to install.

Since it’s so cheap, I could also see this dispenser being useful for home use. Wouldn’t it be kind of awesome to place one in the entrance to remind people to disinfect their hands before coming inside?

Perhaps one in the bathroom as well and heck, might as well put one in every room at home as well! I kid…

The only hitch with this amazing deal is the shipping. Staples only ships orders over $45 for free, which means that if you were to only get one of these Purell dispenser or even a couple, you would need to pay the $15 shipping fee. However, make sure to check out the other Purell products that are currently on sale.

This dispenser doesn’t come with soap, so you could pick up the Purell hand sanitizer refill 1L on sale for $10.34 right now. The 100-pack Purell hand sanitizing wipes are also currently on sale for just $4.99. This same pack of wipes is actually going for $38.29 on Amazon‘s marketplace. Lest you think that these aren’t sanitary, each wipe is actually individually wrapped.

You could pair this hand dispenser with another great offer from the Deals Center to avoid the shipping fee. The HP Officejet 6815e all in one printer, for instance, is currently $100 off and is listed at $79.94 (reg. $179.94).

Simon Chang 15.6″ Computer Tote Was $70 Now $35 & Free Shipping @

Posted by on March 17, 2015 at 10:38 AM

Simon Chang 15.6 Computer Tote Was $70 Now $35 & Free Shipping @ has the sleek Simon Chang 15.6” Computer Tote that was $70 but is now only $35. This professional looking pinstripe tote includes free shipping in the deal.

When I was working in a job that required me to go into the office, I always had an eye out for a professional looking bag. This bag caught my eye as a great choice for conferences, presentations or meetings. You will to look professional and keep your paperwork, laptop, tablet, marketing materials or anything else you need organized and together.

I like all the pockets this bag has, especially the zippered interior pockets. It also includes a loop on the back for securing the bag to the top of a roller suitcase. There are also metal feet on the bottom, which is a great feature. The metal feet will ensure it is not sliding all over the place so you can discreetly remove an item from your bag.

I see that Swiss Gear produces this bag from looking around the web, which means it should hold together well. My husband has a Swiss Gear backpack I purchased for him, and ten years later that backpack is still holding together well with only minor wear and tear. I dug a little further on the internet, and Simon Chang is a Canadian designer from Montreal. Among his designs, he has made corporate wear for SkyService, Air Transat, Royal Air, Quebec’s provincial police force, and the Ontario fire marshals.

I found this same laptop bag for $59.99 @ At they have a similar Simon Chang bag in the same size in a simulate leather for $66.98. also has the same comparable bag Simon Chang bag for $66.98.

No one seems to be reviewing this bag or the comparable bags I found. I did find another similar bag that is now out of stock at Costco. This comparable bag was the same size and brand, but was a rolling version. Both reviews of this comparable, but now out of stock bag were positive.

If you need a new business bag, I would consider this. Bags that protect a laptop or tablet plus have enough room for other items often retail from $60 and only go up in price. This bag has plenty of room to carry everything for a long day of meetings or for a conference. Grab it now while it is at a great price and free shipping is included.

Free Staples $25 Discount Off Orders $100+ @

Posted by on March 16, 2015 at 8:00 PM

Free Staples $25 Discount Off Orders $100+ @

Got a couple of minutes? Then here’s a way from FS Local for you to get a $25 discount coupon to save when you spend over $100 at Staples. There are a couple of hoops to jump through but it’s definitely worth the discount.

The headline of this offer is: “taking 3 minutes today will help your business tomorrow” and this is because it’s technically only available to business owners. However, if you don’t have a business, then you could just try to make one up and see if you get the code anyways. UPDATE – Fslocal emailed us to say that applications would be under review and only legitimate businesses will receive the coupon.

Here’s a quick summary of the steps that you need to go through to get this offer:

  1. Sign up for FS Local here
  2. Confirm your e-mail address
  3. Login to your dashboard @
  4. Activate the social network of your choice

That’s it! Once it’s activated, you will receive an e-mail with your Staples coupon.

Sadly, as it often is the case, Quebec residents are excluded from this lovely offer. For those of you located in the rest of Canada, keep in mind that once you get your Staples coupon code,  that you’re sure to get your order shipped for free as well once you redeem it. This is because Staples ships all orders over $45 for free and you need a $100 spend in order to get the discount.

So what exactly is FS Local? It’s a service that bundles all of your social networks into one. It’s also a directory of the best local business in your city.  As I already mentioned, this offers is only targeted at businesses but any possibility at a discount is a good one, especially since this one is for up to 25% off your entire order. Free Staples $25 Discount Off Orders $100+ @

The best way to save online is by checking the Deals Centre, which is updated daily with deals. If I wasn’t located in Quebec, I would definitely use this code to save on a new office chair since mine is completely ruined from my kitty clawing it all over by constantly jumping on the back.

HP Officejet 5740e All in One Printer Was $149 | Now $99 & Free Shipping @

Posted by on March 16, 2015 at 9:15 AM

HP Officejet 5740e All in One Printer Was $149 | Now $99 & Free Shipping @ has a great printer deal over in the daily deals centre today. You can get the HP Officejet 5740e All in One Printer that was $149 for only $99. Free shipping is also included with this printer.

We are in the middle of tax season right now, which means you may find yourself printing a few more documents than usual. Around many kitchen tables, people are looking over forms, gathering documents and searching through their files to ensure they have all of the paperwork handy. With so many of our forms and documents online, a home printer that also scans can be very helpful during tax season to help keep everything organized.

This thermal inkjet printer does all of the basic functions including print, scan, fax and copy. It can print double sided, allowing you to save paper. Printing from mobile devices is available free through both HP ePrint and Apple AirPrint. This prints at a fast speed of twelve pages per minute when printing in black only, and eight pages per minute when printing in colour. A one year limited warranty is also included which is great. I always appreciate when a company backs up the product with a warranty.

Most of the other retailers have this printer priced above the starting price that Staples shows on this printer. This sale price is looking pretty good compared to the other prices around the web. Check it out in the price comparison below.

I see very positive reviews on Staples’s website with 111 reviews and a four and a half star average rating. Below is the review that Staples highlights as the most helpful review.

It has been so long since I have had a truly reliable printer. This printer is so much better than my previous one -it doesn’t jam, it copies front and back, it prints, faxes, scans, copies and will allow me to print wirelessly from my iPad. The refill cartridges are easy to install and setting it up was a breeze. I would highly recommend this printer to anyone interested in great features for a reasonable price.

This deal is only available online through tomorrow. The stock is limited on this printer, so if they run out you will be out of luck if you wait. This is a great deal if you are in need of a new reliable printer for basic home use.

Staples Canada: Samsung Wireless Colour Laser Printer Only $100 (Was $260) *BUMP* (Expired)

Staples Canada: Samsung Wireless Colour Laser Printer Only $100 (Was $260) *BUMP* (Expired)

*BUMP! This printer is now back on sale, but at an even better price, $30 cheaper than it was on sale the last time* Get the Samsung wireless colour laser printer at Staples for half the price, now only $99.94, was $259.94. I’ve been told this is a really hot deal, that won’t last as long as the expiry date.

As I recently blogged, I could totally use my own colour printer. This one prints wirelessly, which makes it so handy. You can print from your wireless device through the Samsung app or with Google Cloud from anywhere.

It is also great quality with polymerized toner and up to 2400 x 600 dpi output. The ECO button helps you save on toner, paper and energy, saving you on the cost of running your printer.

While I’ve read that reviews are mixed, this printer has an overall 3.8 star rating. Reviewers say it is great value for the money and that it is an overall smaller home printer, and best for specialty at-home printing, like photos, etc.

Staples will ship this item for free in one business day, so if you need a printer now, this is a good deal that will get to you ASAP.

This offer is online and in-stores, so if you needed further incentive, you could travel to your nearest Staples and see what it has to offer, although ordering online is much more convenient, and like I said, free.

Bonded-Leather Chair Was $110 Now $60 & Free Shipping @

Posted by on February 21, 2015 at 12:30 PM

Bonded Leather Chair Was $110 Now $60 & Free Shipping @

*** Bump – Back in stock at this price *** Looking for a good price on a new office chair? There’s a very good deal on this Mid-Back Bonded-Leather Manager’s Chair from Staples Canada just now. It was originally priced at $109.96, but you can pick it up for only $59.96 with free shipping!

There’s a $50 discount on this item just now and it’s due to expire on the 3rd March 2015, or while stocks last on the deal. It’s a very low price for this item!

A brief spec for your perusal:

  • Seat Height Adjustment
  • Tilt lock and tilt tension adjustment
  • Padded Arm Rests
  • 5 legged base & 5 casters for support
  • Weight rated up to 250 lbs based on an 8 hour working day

The most important one of the above, I feel, is the seat height adjustment. As we are all different shapes and sizes, this is obviously a MUST in any office chair. You definitely want to be able to configure a chair to your own body.

In my home office, I use a comfy office chair similar to the one above, and I also use a footrest (like these). As well as the chair being good for posture, the footrest also helps make sure that my body is in a good position. It needs to be as some days, I’m in the office chair for up to 12 hours.

Now, the above office chair, the Mid-Back Bonded-Leather Manager’s Chair… as it’s only $60, you’re probably not going to get an amazingly long lifespan out of this item. For some of the cheaper chairs from Staples, I often hear people with issues about the cushioning under the bum area wearing thin with use. Obviously, you can just stick a cushion under your butt and sit on that if things get thin!! There are a few reviews on the Staples site about this chair, and it scores an average of 3.8/5. But I can see that 18 reviews have commented on “Not enough padding” so this could be an issue with this chair regarding long-term usage. Keep that in mind when ordering!

Staples Canada: Hammermill Copy Plus Paper Was $57 | Now $38 (FS @ $45)

Posted by on February 20, 2015 at 2:41 PM

Staples Canada: Hammermill Copy Plus Paper Was $57 | Now $38 (FS @ $45)

Staples is having a 4-day sale, with up to 50% off a number of items. One item of particular interest is the Hammermill Copy Plus 20lb paper, with 5,000 sheets in a case. Regularly $57.39, it is now on sale for $37.98.

I think there isn’t a person out there who couldn’t use this deal. If you have a printer, you need paper. While 5,000 sheets may seem like a lot, if you do a lot of printing, you could quickly go through that case of paper. My husband is always complaining how much paper I use for printing and how much ink and paper costs. I’d love to just get this deal and say “now we’re even”.

While there is nothing completely special about this paper, it is general-use paper ideal for printing, faxing, photocopying and more. It does have a 99.9% jam-free guarantee, which if you’ve dealt with machines that often jam, you’ll know this is mega-important. Paper jams I think were causing 99.9% of the stress I had in my life when I worked in an office and did a lot of printing and photocopying.

It does look like there are some other special features of this paper like colourLok technology, which means it produces more vivid and bolder colours and it dries three times faster. It is also FSC certified, which is always good to know when you are using a paper product.

I did price compare and found this paper on Amazon for $60.49 and that was it for Canadian companies. I did find it for $53.99 at Office Depot in the U.S., so this Staples deal is definitely quite a saving.

With free shipping at $45, and a $15 shipping charge on this item, you’ll want to up your cart by those few extra dollars by buying two cases (you can never have too much!) or checking out the other deals available in the 4-day sale. Something like these BlueDiamond high speed HDMI cables will get you up over your total and who can’t use more HDMI cables. These were $9.98 and now $3.98.

This deal may sell out quick, as this morning they had 900 units sold and now have over 1000 sold.
