Staples Canada: Norton Internet Security 2014 Only $19.99 (Expired)

Posted by on December 31, 2013 at 7:30 PM

Staples Canada: Norton Internet Security 2014 Only $19.99 (Expired)

Staples Canada is offering Norton Internet Security 2014, three users, for a fraction of its retail price. Originally $79.99 it is now on sale for $19.99.

I did a quick price comparison with a couple other retailers. Best Buy has the same software for its full retail price of $79.99. Amazon.ca has the same software on sale for $63.99. I found a single user version at Amazon for $26.99 which is still more expensive than this three user version from Staples.

The software offers five levels of protection proving an anti-virus and an internet security system to keep you safe while browsing. The system includes:

  • Norton Protection
  • Network Defense Layer Protection
  • SONAR Behavioral Protection
  • Live 24×7 Threat Monitoring
  • Threat-removal Layer

If you are a fan of Norton Security, this is a great deal on their software for the New Year.

Staples offers free shipping on orders of $45 or more.

Dell Canada: McAfee Total Protection $9.99

Posted by on December 30, 2013 at 11:30 PM

Dell Canada: McAfee Total Protection $9.99

Get McAfee Total Protection 2014 for three PCs for only $9.99 (originally $79.99) at Dell Canada.

Seriously this deal is mega hot! The software comes with:

  • real-time antivirus
  • anti-malware
  • spam filters
  • advanced parental controls
  • firewall
  • protection against identity theft
  • protection against risks in social media
  • and protection against hacking of your PC

This is for a downloadable version that you will receive within four to eight hours of ordering it.

So Dell Canada’s starting price on this is a wee bit out to lunch, but this is still a good deal. Even on massive Boxing Day sales I have only found this at at least double Dell’s price, without free shipping. For example: Future Shop has it on sale for $19.99 but as that is just under the $20 minimum you wouldn’t get the free shipping (and you can’t just download it). I figure that $10 for a full throttle anti-virus is a pretty sweet deal and I plan to install this tomorrow.

Dell Canada: Boxing Day McAfee Internet Security $5 (Save $65)

I totally just bought this deal and you should too! Get McAfee Internet Security 2014 for 3 pcs for only $4.99 (originally $69.99) as a sweet Boxing Day deal.

Seriously this deal is hot! The software comes with:

  • real-time antivirus
  • anti-malware
  • spam filters
  • advanced parental controls
  • firewall

While it may be listed as temporarily out of stock you CAN still order it… I just did!

Here is a little price comparison to rock your socks. Best Buy and Future Shop Canada have this on sale for $24.99. The Source has the software for the full $69.99 price and it is $58.39 at Amazon Canada, Dell’s deal is by far the best and their free shipping policy on any order makes this deal even better!

Cyber Weekend Software Deals

Cyber Weekend Software Deals

Over the last week or so, we’ve been seeing a LOAD of software deals coming through for this weekend, which we have been collating for our Black Friday and Cyber Monday dashboards. We literally cannot blog every single deal, so I thought it would be a good idea to pull a list of some of the offers that stood out in here. There are deals on anti-virus programs, software for your computers, even gaming deals.

I’ll not go into too much detail about each one, just click through and check out the offer if you are interested. Here’s a breakdown of the deals that have caught my eye:

Crazy Egg: Free 30 Day Trial – Visualize Where People Go On Your Website

Posted by on November 10, 2013 at 4:00 PM

Crazy Egg: Free 30 Day Trial Visualize Where People Go On Your Website

Do you run a website? Ever wonder what parts of it people like, what they click and what they read? CrazyEgg tells you and for 30 days, they tell you for free.

If you want to know exactly what CrazyEgg does, check out the video on their home page, which explains it all. Basically, it is a way to see which parts of your website people like and which parts they don’t. Things like Google Analytics and the awesome SumAll are great resources, but they don’t do it all. CrazyEgg is the missing piece.

After the 30 day free trial, the service is only $9/month for smaller sites and up to $99/month for bigger sites. If you’re running a mega site like Costco, Disney, eBay or Amazon (all of whom are CrazyEgg users) you can get a custom price plan. It seems quite easy to set up, too. If you’ve added Google Analytics to your site, you’re probably going to be able to do this. If you don’t happen to dig it and your conversions don’t go up, you get your money back.

Intego: Free Upgrade To Washing Mashine 2014 For Mac Premium Bundle 2013 Users

Intego: Free Upgrade To Washing Mashine 2014 For Mac Premium Bundle 2013 Users

In what is probably one of the most specific niche articles I’ve ever written here, you can get Intego Washing Machine 2014 for Mac for free!

How do you do this? Well, you can either go back in time and buy Intego Mac Premium Bundle. You could also buy it right now, but I suspect the 2014 version will be coming out at some point in the near future, so that might not be the best idea either. Your best bet is to already own the software.

If you already own it, you know about Washing Machine and probably already love it. This offer lets you upgrade the Mac Washing Machine portion of your Premium Bundle for free! No strings attached, nothing fancy.

If you don’t already have Intego’s Mac Premium Bundle 2013, you may still want WashingMachine, so I’ll let Intego tell you what it’s all about.

Washing Machine keeps you surfing fast and securely. As you surf the web, cookies and other types of files form a digital trail that can provide a road map of your surfing habits. Washing Machine protects your privacy by deleting this personal information and saves space on your Mac by emptying cache files.

Washing Machine shows you a list of items that may compromise your privacy. When you select one, the applications that have generated that kind of tracking information are listed. Select the type of information you want to clean up, cookies for example. Then select which applications you would like to clean up that information for and press the “Clean” button. You are a button click away from once again surfing in private!

All that for $29.99! Not too shabby.

Quoterollers: Free 14 Day Trial – No Credit Card Required

Posted by on November 1, 2013 at 7:30 PM

Quoterollers: Free 14 Day Trial No Credit Card Required

Roll yo’ quotes for free at QuoteRoller.com!

There are some really cool things being done with Software as a Service (SAAS) lately, and QuoteRoller is another great example. First, what is SAAS? SAAS basically means you are running a program in the Cloud. Google Docs is SAAS. Normally you’d run a word processor on your computer (like Microsoft Word). Now, you can run it on Google and just access them from your browser. SalesForce is the monster in the SAAS world, so if you’re familiar with their concept, you know about SAAS.

Before we get into QuoteRoller, the deal here is that you get 14 days of free access, no credit card needed. After that, it is $9.99/user/month up to $29.99/user/month, depending on what level you buy and if you are getting it monthly or yearly.

QuoteRoller lets you make quotes and proposals online and send them to your clients. Instead of doing up a quote in a spreadsheet or word processor, you just enter the pertinent data and QuoteRoller sticks it in a template (which you can customize) and then allows you to email it to your customers. They even have in-quote analytics which allow you to see what parts of your quote were focused on the most by your clients. That way, you can focus more on specific parts as you see fit. It even integrates with other services like FreshBooks. I think a FreshBooks and QuoteRoller combo would be amazing for any business.

Nero.com: $20 off Nero 2014 Platinum

Posted by on October 30, 2013 at 1:00 PM

Nero.com: $20 off Nero 2014 Platinum

Get Nero 2014 Platinum for $20 less!

Nero used to be one of the most pirated pieces of software around. As bad as that sounds, it means that it is quality software. Companies actually often gauge their success partially on how pirated their software, movie, TV show or whatever else is pirated. If no one is willing to steal your stuff, well, it’s probably not worth the trouble.

The full platinum suite is normally $129.99 but you get $20 so it’s only $109.99. Prices are in USD.

It’s been a while since I’ve lurked around the pirated software world  so I don’t know if Nero shows up as much but their new software certainly seems like a quality product to me. Nero used to be popular because burning CDs (especially bootable ISOs) was a pain. Nero made it easy.  But burning is a lot easier now so, even though they still have some great burning software in there, they’ve made it way more than a burning program. You can use it to convert media formats (great for mobile devices, especially iOS gear) and view and manage your photos, music and video. You can even use it to edit HD and 4K video. And of course they still have a great burning, copying and ripping engine.

There is no shipping as this is a digital download.

Dell Canada: McAfee AntiVirus Plus 1 PC 2014 Now $6 (Was $40)

Posted by on October 28, 2013 at 8:30 PM

Dell Canada: McAfee AntiVirus Plus 1 PC 2014 Now $6 (Was $40)

Is your anti-virus ready for the new year? If not be sure to pick up the McAfee AntiVirus Plus 1 PC 2014 for only $5.99, which is a huge discount from $39.99. The AntiVirus software requires only a download so there is no shipping.

Dell is not deep linking so just search “McAfee AntiVirus Plus 1 PC 2014″ and click on the download version.

I have McAfee AntiVirus and although it is hardly the cat’s meow, it generally does the job. Generally I say because sometimes I get these strange reports that say my anti-virus and firewall have been turned off when I, most certainly, have not turned them off. However, that has only happened a couple times. Most of the time it does its scan when it should and keeps my computer free of viruses. For only $5.99 this is pretty much a steal at that price. I constantly get emails from McAfee asking me to renew my AntiVirus and the price they are offering most certainly is not $5.99 or I would have renewed by now.

LapLlink has basically figured out a way to do one thing very, very well and has expanded on that same general idea. The basic idea of their software is syncing. Their main product is their PC Mover software, which helps you migrate all your files, settings and apps to another computer. There are also versions to help you upgrade to Windows 7 or 8 without losing all of your settings and files. There are programs to sync between PCs, Macs, Android devices and iOS devices. They even have some disk management utilities for imaging, performance and security.

They also sell some cables, which I would highly recommend against getting because you can pick them up way cheaper at, well, almost anywhere.

Toon Boom Animation Canada: Upgrade Studio 8 Bundle – $99 (Save $80)

Toon Boom Animation Canada: Upgrade Studio 8 Bundle $99 (Save $80)

Toon Boom Animation has a couple of promotions on for all our artistic Moosers out there. First, get the Toon Boom Studio 8 Upgrade bundle which includes the upgrade and the Infinite Skills – Learning Toon Boom program for only $99. You save $80. If you have already bought the upgrade, you can get just the Infinite Skills – Learning Toon Boom Studio 8 for $50, which is 50% off of its regular price.

I bet you are wondering what a chick like me knows about an animation program like this. I don’t know a whole not about the program itself, but I have heard plenty about it through word of mouth. One of my friends is an animator, and I’m not just talking about your run of the mill computer animator, either. This guy did classic animation for companies like Warner Bros. Did I just catch your attention? Thought I did. He has also animated for cartoons I used to watch, like Arthur. He has seriously wicked drawing talent and I adore him (he drew the above picture for me), and he uses Toon Boom now. He has been working on a lot of animated shorts lately and has really enjoyed working with Toon Boom. I think that is a pretty good kudos to it.

If you have never used Toon Boom but are into animation, why don’t you check it out? They offer free trials right here. They have animation software, story-boarding software, and a lot more. They are a Canadian company out of Montreal and this is the first time we have mentioned them on the Bargainmoose. Check them out!

Most their software is download-able – no shipping costs involved.

DisplayFusion: Manage Multiple Monitors and Save 25% to Celebrate Version 5.1! (Expired)

DisplayFusion: Manage Multiple Monitors and Save 25% to Celebrate Version 5.1! (Expired)

The busiest lady I know uses DisplayFusion to make her life easier and you should too. You should also save 25% because we love you very, very much.

DisplayFusion starts at $25 for a lifetime license for one computer. You get it for only $18.75. The 25% discount saves you $6.25. That’s for the Standard licence. The Personal Home (more than one computer at your home), Site (for an office) and Enterprise (for a company) licences are $26.25, $524.25 and $1949.25, respectively, after the 25% discount.

The busiest lady I know is BargainMoose’s dear dictator for live, Anna Waters. She uses this and loves it. You can see how much she likes it by reading her comments about it in a previous DisplayFusion post. Now that you’ve read that, you know everything there is to know about DisplayFusion so go buy it. Good night!

No, that’s not right! Besides all the awesome features they had in the last version, they’ve added more. Of course there were minor updates and bug fixes, but the real big new feature is the screen splitting feature. I’d explain it but the people who make it can do a better job.

The biggest new feature is the addition of Monitor Splitting. This is an incredible new feature that allows people using nVidia Surround or AMD EyeFinity to virtually split their spanned desktop into virtual monitors. Separate taskbars, wallpaper, window maximizing and more. No need to disable EyeFinity or Surround when you’re done gaming.

This is especially helpful if you’re a creative type or very busy with a lot of stuff happening on your computer all the time. You can maximize email in one part of your screen, Twitter on another and browse on another. This would actually turn a small TV into a suitable monitor.

Also, you can save money on this if you already have another program by Binary Fortress, the creators of Display Fusion. I’d suggest checking out ClipBoard Fusion. It’s especially helpful if you use, as most of us do, multiple devices/computers.

CyberLink software fills that spot between people whose main media tools came with Windows, and the people who really need heavy duty editing software. Products like PowerDirector, PhotoDirector and MediaSuite let you do more than the you could with the stuff that comes with your computer, but are way, way cheaper than the offerings from Adobe. Right now they are having a Back-to-School sale and the coupon works in conjunction with it. Here are a few prices with the sale and the coupon applied.

Some of these numbers might be a bit off because they round their discounts oddly. It’d only be off by a few pennies, though. Those programs seem to be their most popular, but they have others including a bunch of mobile apps and even some Adobe plug-ins if you’re using that level of product already.

No shipping fees as these are all digital downloads.

ZoneAlarm Canada: Save 50%+ Off Various Security Programs & Free PC Tune Up Bundle

Get the knowledge and experience of the ZoneAlarm guys at a great discount.

I say ZoneAlarm has been around forever, but according to the book of knowledge, Wikipedia, it’s been about 13 years. I thought it was longer than that, but I guess not. Regardless, 13 years in technology is like 50 years in the real world. It’s kind of surreal, actually, to look back on how much stuff has happened since 2000.

One thing that has happened is that it’s gotten more dangerous on the internet. Now, I’m not an alarmist, so I don’t want to freak you out about being on the internet. The internet is awesome. The problem is that there are a lot of people who don’t understand it. Luckily for those people, companies like ZoneAlarm exist to help protect you. ZoneAlarm is best known as a firewall maker, but they have a lot more to offer.

  • ZoneAlarm PRO Antivirus + Firewall plus PC Tune-up - Was $69.95 – Save $50 – Now $19.95
  • ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite plus PC Tune-up - Was $79.95 – Save $45 – Now $34.95
  • ZoneAlarm Extreme Security plus PC Tune-up – Was $89.95 – Save $50 – Now $39.95

The prices above are not including the PC Tune-up, which you get for free. It retails for $19.95, so you can add another $19.95 on to the savings above!

This is for a digital download of the software, so there is no shipping.

There is way too much going on with Display Fusion for me to go over all the options. There are the standard things you’d expect from a multi-monitor management program but there is so much more. Of course you can span title bars and menu bars. There are a few different ways to keep your windows in order. You can do some cool stuff with your desktop background. That’s all fairly standard. But you can also have Display Fusion load random images from places like 500px or DeviantART. You can modify those images in-program by adding filters like black and white or sepia. There are even profiles to save your different configurations.

It’s so good that our boss here are Bargainmoose, after she used it (and loved it) for a little bit, has graciously let me steal her words to put on this here article.

I downloaded Display Fusion last week on the recommendation of my partner, and I bought the license for use on multiple home computers. I was a bit wary of using this software, as I am quite fussy with what happens on my PC. I’m a bit scared of change! Anyway, I read the features and thought I would give it a try. It wasn’t that expensive considering this is a lifetime license for Display Fusion,  and I knew I could just uninstall it if I wasn’t happy.

I’ve mentioned on here a few times that I work with multiple monitors, a 27″ and a 24″ Dell, so using Display Fusion is actually really good. The first thing I found great was the extended taskbar which flowed over on to my second monitor – there wasn’t one there before. It gives a bit of a separation in that the windows that are open on the second monitor will be on the second taskbar – ideal for my working methods. I also really like the little button which is at the top of each window – hit it and the whole window just jumps over to the other screen.

There are many more features which I haven’t used yet, such as the ability to have separate screensavers on each monitor, or various types of desktop images… but I’m really happy with Display Fusion so far!

If you really want to know all the features that this great program has to offer, check out their Comparison Page and their Features Page. You’ll notice on the comparison that they have a bunch of different licenses from personal use to professional. They even have a steam version or, of course, the FREE version if you so choose. The pro really has a bunch more features for as low as $25 minus the coupon code, so it’s a steal.
