AMEX & Shop.ca: $50 rebate on $200 Purchase with Enrolled Card

Posted by on August 20, 2014 at 11:30 PM

AMEX & Shop.ca: $50 rebate on $200 Purchase with Enrolled Card

American Express has teamed up with Shop.ca to get their card users additional rewards when they shop at the online retail store. Register your AMEX card through the below link. Then, when you spend $200 before the 30th of September at Shop.ca, you will receive a $50 rebate.

This promotion started in July, but I could not find the details on it until recently. If you have made purchases on your AMEX card without registering for this promotion, those purchases will not count towards the $200 required for your $50 rebate.

The $200 required for the rebate is cumulative: it does not need to be spent all in one purchase. However, you do need to earn it before the end of September to qualify. Your $50 rebate will be given in the form of a one-time $50 Statement Credit after the promotional period is over. As I understand it, you should receive the $50 credit in October if you meet the terms.

Shop.ca often has good deals on household goods, fashion, personal care, tools, and more. Less than a week ago, Eva mentioned this good deal on HS Socks for men.

I found several other deals on their website right now. Receive 35% off portable solar panels that are great for charging your phone on the go. For $129.99, you receive a four pack of panels for harnessing the sun’s energy with adapters to match your cell phone. Each panel is small enough to fit in your pocket! Just remember to take it out of your pocket for charging.

Are you trying to find the right gift for the meat lover in your family? I think I might have the perfect thing. Give your favourite carnivore the Artisanal Charcuterie Box with Free Carnivore Club T-Shirt for $55. The box itself comes with four to six handcrafted cured artisan meats and you receive a free t-shirt to boot. The box is supposed to change each month as well.

BCBGeneration has up to 60% off shoes on Shop.ca. Choose from heels or wedges. The selection is not large, but you do not need isles of shoes to find your dream pair. Sizes are limited.

Shop.ca offers free shipping on every order. They are somewhat of a one-stop shop these days, or at least that is what they are becoming. If you have an AMEX card, I hope you can take advantage of this offer and get that $50 rebate.

Shop.ca: 20 Pairs Of HS Men’s Socks Only $145

Posted by on August 16, 2014 at 11:00 AM

Shop.ca: 20 Pairs Of HS Mens Socks Only $145

If you are looking for whimsical, fun and high-quality socks, you’ve come to the right place. Avi has blogged about HS Sweden socks numerous times and I’ve seen them come as low as about $9 a pair with a regular price of $13. This deal from Shop.ca gets you 20 pairs for $155, but you can also use our exclusive $10 off $50 to bring the price down to $145. This gets you the socks for $7.25 a pair, which is almost half the price of the original. You’ll also get free shipping.

While I hate to mention Christmas again in a post, it is only four months away and your shopping time will tick away before you know it. Are socks not the ultimate gift for anyone? We all wear socks (even me, who is sort of a sock hater) and they’re just not a fun thing to buy, unless you are excited about stripes and dots and more on your socks. I think this would make another great gift for my husband, whose socks look like he just came back from war. He likes being fun and taking risks with his clothing, so why not his socks? While it sounds like a lot to spend $145 just on socks, imagine how long they will last and at $7 a pair, that’s a regular price for regular socks.

It says that they might not be the exact styles you are seeing, but that they will all be fun with crazy abstract patterns and more.

Yesterday a friend with a teenager told me that the new trend for teens is to not match socks. This is a score for me as I don’t think I have a matching pair of socks for my kids right now. Somehow, the sock fairy has carried the other sock away for good. Also, my kids can’t stand it when we do “sock sorting day” and I dump the huge pile of unsorted socks on the floor and force them to find pairs or at least something similar. Well, with this new trend, they don’t need to. I think it would be super cool for them to have socks like these to mix and match. I’m sure most teen boys would fit into men’s sizes of socks, so this might be a great buy for your boy heading off to school or starting high school.

Shop.ca: Cuisinart Mini-Prep Bundle Only $100

Posted by on August 5, 2014 at 5:00 PM

Shop.ca: Cuisinart Mini Prep Bundle Only $100

If you are looking for a handy bundle for the kitchen to give as a gift or for yourself, Shop.ca has a really great deal on Cuisinart kitchen prep appliances. Get the mini-prep bundle for only $109.99 (regular price of $150), then add our exclusive coupon code to get another $10 off and pay only $99.99. You’ll also get free shipping.

This bundle includes the:

  • Mini-prep plus chopper/grinder
  • 2-speed smart stick hand blender
  • power advantage 5-speed hand mixer

You can get this bundle in red, blue or yellow. It also includes a whisk attachment, blending attachment and chopper attachment for the hand blender, plus a 16oz mixing/measuring beaker for the hand blender. You’ll also get a spatula for the hand mixer.

Price comparisons:

To show you how this is a really great deal, I couldn’t find this in a bundle anywhere, so I had to price compare each item separately. I found the mini-prep food processor for the cheapest price at Amazon for $39.99. I found the hand blender at Future Shop for $53.99. I then found the hand mixer on sale at Kitchen Stuff Plus for $39.99. Adding these all together, you get a price of $133.97. Buying them together saves you the shipping at all of the stores combined and saves you another $34.

I think this bundle would make the perfect wedding gift or gift for someone who is getting their own place for the first time. None of the items are necessities that someone on a limited budget might purchase, but are kitchen tools that are very handy. I use my stick blender, mini chopper and hand mixer probably on a weekly basis. They make food prep just so much more easy!

Reviews:

Before you buy, you might also want to hear a few reviews of these products like this one for the mini-prep from Amazon:

This unit is perfect for chopping and grinding, ideal for small jobs if you are just two people as we are. I chopped cabbage, apple, and carrot, all done perfectly.
Also doesn’t take up much counter space.

For the smart stick, this review is also from Amazon:

I received one of these for Christmas three years ago and love it. We use it almost daily while cooking (chopping onions, mincing garlic, making babyfood, pureeing soup etc) and it has withstood this heavy use well.
My only complaint is that there is only one speed – I would like this more if there were two.

Of course, like anything, there are poor reviews for these tools too, so you might want to google and have a read to see what the downsides are of any of these machines, but from what I see, these are definitely good buys, especially for the price.

Shop.ca: $25 off $100+ Jeans

Posted by on August 4, 2014 at 2:30 PM

Shop.ca: $25 off $100+ Jeans

The Jean Machine shop at Shop.ca is offering $25 off any jeans that cost $100 or more.

This offer is applicable on men or women’s jeans. As there are nearly many pages of jeans priced at $100 or more, you should have no problem finding a cut, rise, and style that you enjoy. Jeans for both men and women start at just $104.99.

Women:

Your best deal is on Silver Jeans. I would suggest buying a pair of the following to save the highest percentage with the automatic $25 off at checkout.

There are three different designs and three different inseam lengths. I suggest measuring your inseam first and then deciding on which style you prefer. An inseam can be taken in – like a 33″ taken down to a 31″ – but it is near impossible for a 31″ inseam to be taken out even an inch. Usually there is not a lot of extra fabric to work with.

Men:

Again, Silver Jeans is your best bet price-wise. Pick up the Silver Jeans Nash midrise Slim with Abrasion in Dark Vintage for $104.99, which comes down to $79.99 at checkout.  These are a slim fit jean with copper stitching, heavy abrasion and grinding for an ultra-worn-in look.

For something entirely different, pick up the Silver Jeans Gordie midrise loose fit in dark wash. Yes, they have the same rise and wash, but these are loose with only fading instead of the heavy worn look. They have a straight profile (not baggy). Originally $104.99, they will reduce to $79.99 at checkout.

You can buy as many pairs of jeans as you want with this offer. I placed two pairs of jeans in my cart and $50 came off the total. The Jean Machine shop carries other brands like Mavi Jeans, Buffalo Jeans, Guess, Lucky Brand, and more. You will receive free shipping on any order amount because this offer is through Shop.ca. Make sure to sign up for an account and add your Aeroplan to it so you can earn Aeroplan points on all your purchases. Receive 10 times the points on your first purchase.

Shop.ca: Up to 60% off Shoes & Extra 30% off 2+ Pairs

Posted by on July 16, 2014 at 7:00 PM

Shop.ca: Up to 60% off Shoes & Extra 30% off 2+ Pairs

Enjoy a great stacking deal over at Shop.ca on some new footwear. The Heel Boy Store at Shop.ca is offering up to 60% off shoes plus an additional 30% off when you buy two or more pairs.

I am a summer flats kind of girl. I am not about to prance around in heels when my feet are all sweaty and dying of heatstroke. While that does not do my height any favours, It does leave me worry free and comfy during the hot summer months. This Women’s Sam Edelman “Felicia” Flat in Camouflage is my idea of a flat except for the colour. I never could get behind camouflage. However, I do love Sam Edelman and the quality of his shoes tends to be quite good for the price. These shoes are also on sale. Originally $125, these flats are now on sale for $50.

While those shoes might be good for casual wear – like with jeans or shorts – I like to dress up whenever I head downtown or will be seen by more than a handful of people. Plain ol’ flats just won’t do. That is why I picked out the Women’s French Connection “Gaia” Flat in Black . With their suede upper, metallic tip at the toes, and cute little metallic detailed bow on top they are a dressier flat that would pair well with skirts and dresses. The shoes also have a small stacked heel to give you a little extra height. Originally $145, these shoes are now on sale for $58.

Now, when you add any two or more pairs from this shop to your cart, you will receive an extra 30% off both pairs. I added both the above pairs of shoes to my cart and checked to see that the extra discount was applied. It worked like a charm! The Sam Edelman shoes came down to just $35, and the French Connection shoes came down to $40.60. These are very good prices on these brand name shoes. Sizes are limited, but there is still a good selection available.

As per usual, Shop.ca offers free shipping on all orders with no minimum required. Make sure to link your Aeroplan card to your Shop.ca account if you have not done so already as you will earn 10x rewards on your first purchase. That can add up to some serious points you can use for travel or redeem on gift certificates in the Aeroplan store.

Shop.ca: Balance Bikes Only $140 & Free Shipping

Posted by on July 14, 2014 at 1:30 PM

Shop.ca: Balance Bikes Only $140 & Free Shipping

Shop.ca has a deal on right now that will save you a little bit of money on a balance bike. Regularly $149.99, they are on sale for $139.99 and they’ll also ship for free.

While $10 isn’t a huge amount, getting free shipping on a larger item like this is a great addition to the $10. The reason I wanted to blog this post for you is that if you have a toddler or young child who hasn’t yet caught on to riding a two-wheel bike, you want to get them a balance bike. These things are amazing!

My youngest son got a balance bike when he turned three in the fall. Within a week he was riding it so fast, he could keep up to his oldest brother, who at 7, had just learned to ride a two-wheel bike. We spent many, many months over the years trying to teach my oldest to ride his bike and he just wasn’t getting it, and finally did at age 7. So, when my youngest took off on his balance bike at age three, we were quite amazed. He’s been riding it since last fall and I know the next logical step is getting him on a pedal bike, since he has the hardest part – the balancing – down with no fear. Basically, these bikes take away the fear of staying upright on the bike.

My middle son was also having trouble getting the hang of pedaling on a two-wheel bike, so we set the seat higher on my youngest son’s balance bike, and got him to practice for a bit. There were lots of fights between the boys because he “took my bike”, but that paid off and now my middle son is riding his two-wheel bike with ease.

I love the design of these Bellelli balance bikes, as you definitely want a good quality bike for this purpose. I found these bikes at Balance Bikes Canada, and while they sold for the same price as Shop.ca, the shipping was a minimum of $15. You’ll also get Aeroplan points with your purchase. If you don’t like your bike, there are also free returns.

There are four different colours available, so you can tailor it to your kid’s likes.

Shop.ca: Up to 50% off Gidget Loves Milo Dresses

Posted by on July 9, 2014 at 11:30 PM

Shop.ca: Up to 50% off Gidget Loves Milo Dresses

Shop.ca is currently offering up to 50% off adorable dresses for young girls by the Toronto company Gidget Loves Milo.

These dresses are affordable options for summer dresses that are also super cute. There is no need to compromise on style when looking for inexpensive summer dresses for your girls. Many of these dresses would be appropriate for more dressy occasions like a summer wedding or a party.

The Gidget Loves Milo Pop Goes the World Sequined Cotton Dress for infants or young girls is perfect for occasions when she wants to sparkle. The dress has three tiers of ruffles on the bottom, and a great big bow decorates the front center of the dress. It comes in sizes 12 months up to 5 years old. No matter what size you buy, the dress has been discounted to $27, from $55. The bright pink fabric is accented by the silvery sequins for a dress that just screams fun.

The Gidget Loves Milo Gumdrop 1-Piece Infant and Girls’ Dress with diaper cover is sunshine yellow with a contrasting pink and yellow plaid peeking out from underneath and lining the empire waist. My favourite features of this dress are the little daisy flowers that accent the bottom of the skirt with one at the waist. The dress was originally $45, and is now on sale for $25. If you adore that style of dress, then pick up the Gidget Loves Milo Infant and Girls 1pc Bright Plaid Empire Dress, which is the exact same dress but with the yellow on the inside layer and the pretty pink/yellow plaid as the primary outside fabric. Pretty daisies are still included.

While pink is a popular colour in girls’ dresses, not everything is pink. This Gidget Loves Milo Fields of Joy 1-Piece flared pattered dress  is a lovely white and blue print dress with contrasting yellow trim. It is also available for slightly older girls as well, as sizes three through 10 are in stock. Originally $55, the dress is now on sale for $27.50. The skirt is flared and the dress appears to be both lined and have built in crinoline for extra bounce.

These dresses are super adorable and a very good price so I could not resist posting about them. I checked with the brand’s website, and the original prices Shop.ca quotes are accurate so you are getting a good deal.

Shop.ca: Buy 3 VPI Sunglasses & Get 40% Off

Posted by on July 7, 2014 at 8:30 AM

Shop.ca: Buy 3 VPI Sunglasses & Get 40% Off

The sun is shining, the air is hot, but are you squinting through it? Buy yourself a new pair of sunglasses, actually, buy yourself three pairs of sunglasses and save 40%. Shop.ca has V.P.I. sunglasses on for $28 a pair, but if you buy three, you’ll get all three pairs for a total of $50.40, which is a savings of $34, essentially getting you a pair and a bit free.

You may at first wonder why you need three pairs of sunglasses, or you may be like me and know why you need three pairs. Just like my sets of keys, I have more than one pair. This is because I never know where I left them. With three kids, a job, a husband, five pets and a home to run, my brain is what you’d call, scattered. I usually come in my home with my arms loaded up with groceries and maybe a kid or two, and I’ll usually just take off my sunglasses, etc., and there are never to be found again. Or found a few days later outside under the deck. Either way, if I have more than one pair, it is sure to reduce my chances that I’ll go without sunglasses. Another good reason for having more than one pair: different looks. That one is easy!

I usually spend about $20 minimum a pair on sunglasses, so this deal is very sweet, and to make it even sweeter, Shop.ca ships for free and has free returns, so if those glasses that look so good online aren’t as nice on your face, you can return them without a second thought.

I love pink-toned lenses with black frames, but I’m also loving the purple frames, as it is a very subtle purple in these sunglasses. If I wanted something more showy, I’d get the pink in these sunglasses and for something to hide from the paparazzi in, these would do just fine.

Luckily for me, as I was shopping, Shop.ca offered me a person one-use coupon code for $15 off of $100. It would make total sense for me to buy six pairs (or shop for something else) to get me up to the $100 total and save $15. Essentially I’d be getting another $50 worth for only $35.

Shop.ca: Cuisinart 12 Cup Coffeemaker (Refurbished) (Now $69.99, Was $139.99)

Posted by on July 4, 2014 at 8:00 AM

Shop.ca: Cuisinart 12 Cup Coffeemaker (Refurbished) (Now $69.99, Was $139.99)

If you are in the market for a new coffeemaker, you may want to consider this refurbished Cuisinart 12 cup coffeemaker, which is now $69.99 (regularly $139.99) from Shop.ca.

I have to admit, my love affair with coffee is temperamental. I wouldn’t say I have a sophisticated palette when it comes to coffee but I definitely have a discerning one. About 8 years ago, our run of the mill, nothing special, coffeemaker up and quit one morning, however it was possibly the worst timing for me.  I was in the midst of prepping to host a bi-weekly baby group playdate for the first time. We are talking eight first time, sleep deprived moms who are not only starving for adult conversation with others who can relate to their woes, but a guaranteed, uninterrupted, much anticipated hot cup of java. So my loving husband ran out and splurged on a coffeemaker I had been coveting, but was clearly out of our budget at the time. It made the b-e-s-t cup of coffee, enough said.

Sadly that one bit the dust two years ago, and this time we just couldn’t splurge so we sucked it up and used our air miles on a coffeemaker that held a lot of promise. One feature that peaked our interest was the stainless steel thermal carafe. My husband did a lot of research on glass carafes vs. thermal carafes and we went for it. Sadly, I haven’t enjoyed a cup of coffee at home ever since.

I think it’s safe to say that I gave it the old college try. It’s been over two years and financially it just doesn’t make sense that I would rather walk to our local shop than to brew a pot at home. I’ve noticed my husband doing the same thing over the past few months.

And so we’ve decided it’s time to invest in yet another coffeemaker. Here is what piques my interest with this refurbished Cuisinart 12 cup Coffeemaker:

  • Manufacturer Re-certified with 90 days Warranty (original: Limited 3-Year Warranty)
  • Hot water system lets you enjoy instant soups, teas, cocoas and more, and offers indicators that let you know when your hot water is ready and when it s time to refill
  • Carafe temperature control offers a heater plate with high, medium, and low settings
  • Removable drip tray leaves you plenty of room for travel mugs

I read several reviews on this product and the only issue that seemed to span the different merchants was the five “loud” beeps at the end of the brewing cycle. Not sure if this is a deterrent or not but it will go into my list of cons for this product for now. However for the pros side of the list, I really do think the hot water system could be a nice feature as my husband drinks herbal tea on a nightly basis.

At most stores the cost is $129.99, however at Amazon.ca you can pick up the same machine, brand new through Cuisinart for $83.99. So if you are weary of the refurbished status you could go that route.

As always Shop.ca offers free shipping on all purchases, no minimum required. Plus if you collect Aeroplan points, you will receive a bonus 800 points with the first order of $99+ after adding your Aeroplan card to your account.

Shop.ca: Samsung NX2000 20.3MP SMART Camera With Lens (Now $349.99 Was $599.99)

Posted by on June 27, 2014 at 1:00 PM

Shop.ca: Samsung NX2000 20.3MP SMART Camera With Lens (Now $349.99 Was $599.99)

Looking to replace your point and shoot camera or ramp up your photography skills? Shop.ca is offering a pretty sweet deal on the Samsung NX2000 20.3MP SMART Camera with a 20-50mm Lens for $349.99 (regularly $599.99).

Point and shoot cameras have come a long way over the last decade. Although I don’t personally own this camera, I do have a Nikon DSLR and I absolutely love the option of the interchangeable lenses. Although most would say comparing a Nikon DSLR to a Samsung point and shoot is like night and day (and I would have to agree), I can say that a few of the features on this camera intrigue me and if I was in the market for a point and shoot camera, this one would be on my list.

Here are a few features that peak my interest in the Samsung NX2000 20.3MP SMART Camera:

  • The price: it fits a budget conscious buyer.
  • Changeable lens on a compact camera gives you the best of both worlds. Being able to adapt your camera based on your surroundings will open up a whole new world of possibilities for your photography.
  • Share your photos immediately via social media or email, or send them directly to a computer, printer or cloud service. Having the capacity to do this on the go ensures you never need to worry about running out of storage space.
  • The variety of added features make this camera so versatile, for instance the panoramic option (3D option as well), the several different easy-to-use filters allow you to edit and enhance on the go, as well as the ability to shoot video footage, a nice option when still photography doesn’t quite capture the magic.
  • Lastly, the fact that it comes with the 20-50mm lens to get you started. This is a standard zoom lens, perfect for everything from portraits to landscapes to sunsets.

Check out this review from one happy camera connoisseur:

This is a powerful, compact, and easy to use camera. The Samsung NX2000 is more than just a bridge between a point & shoot and a DSLR, it’s the real deal. In size, it’s comparable to many point and shoot cameras (without the lens) but in picture quality, it really shines. Even pictures taken at a distance come out with stunning detail. The easy share function means that I can automatically transport my photos to my smartphone and post on social networks right away. Or when you’re at home or at a WiFi hotspot, you can upload your photos to Facebook or sorted cloud drives.

You can find this camera at Amazon.ca for $359.99 making the purchase at Shop.ca $10 sweeter.

As always shipping is free on any order you place at Shop.ca, and you can earn Aeroplan points on every purchase with Shop.ca.

Shop.ca: 50% Off PerfectSense Sheet Sets

Posted by on June 26, 2014 at 5:00 PM

Shop.ca: 50% Off PerfectSense Sheet Sets

Receive 50% off PerfectSense Sheet Sets, and duvet cover sets at Shop.ca right now. Pick up extra pillowcases for 33% off.

Sheets are a neccessity and should be replaced every few years when they get stained or worn. PerfectSense is offering 50% off the 1500 Thread Count Luxury Soft Deep Pocket 4pc Bed Sheet Sets for twin, double, queen, or king sized beds. Originally $79.99, the sheet set is now on sale for $39.99. The price remains constant no matter what size of sheets you are buying, making this a really great deal for larger beds. The set includes a fitted sheet, flat sheet, and two pillowcases. You can choose from an incredible selection of colours as well: eggplant, navy blue, aqua, black, camel, cream, grey, sage, white, burgundy, chocolate brown, or dark cream.

Though not 50% off, an extra of 1500 Thread Count Luxury Soft 2pc Pillowcases will cost you $19.99 (originally $29.99). If you have a larger bed, say a queen or a king, do you really have only two pillows on it? Our queen size bed averages between four or five pillows a night so extra pillowcases are necessary. The pillowcases come in all the colours that the sheet sets do. You also can choose between standard size pillowcases and king size pillowcases.

For those who love all their bedding to match (I am guilty!), there is also the 1500 Thread Count Luxury Soft 3pc Duvet Cover & Shams Sets by PerfectSense that is on sale for 50% off. Like the sheet set, the duvet cover set was $79.99 and is now $39.99. You would just need to provide the duvet to stick this cover on. The duvet cover set comes in sizes full, queen, and king. However, there are far more limited colours available than the other PerfectSense offerings. Choose from cream, grey, sage, white, or chocolate brown for your cover and two shams. These products are designed to be wrinkle free for a good-looking bedspread for years.

I just bought new sheets for our bed after a few months of my husband insisting we needed new sheets. I purchased them from Shop.ca and they shipped very quickly. I am looking forward to them coming in. There is nothing like crisp, clean, and new sheets on a bed.

Earn Aeroplan points on every purchase with Shop.ca. You will also receive free shipping on any order you place at Shop.ca.

Shop.ca: Two Chic Mammas Teething Necklaces For $50

I found a cool little deal for all the Moms out there who like to look good and be practical at the same time. Get two Chic Mammas teething necklaces for $50, with regular prices of up to $32.95 each.

Even though we have a fabulous exclusive coupon code out for $10 off your $50 order, if you use it on this deal, you’ll actually lose money. So… don’t.

These necklaces are not the ones that the babes wear, but instead Mom wears them and baby can chew on them. I know from having lots of babies that babies will chew on anything you’ve got on – your hair, your fingers, your jewellery – but it is not always that safe. These necklaces are made to be chewed (so you could do a little chewing yourself if you are so inclined). Made from the same material as teething rings – 100% silicone, they don’t contain PVC, BPA, phalates or latex.

Obviously moms don’t want to wear teething rings around their neck and some get sick of the “dropped it on the floor, now you pick up” game one thousand times a day. This is a great solution to the baby needed something to chew on while mom holds baby and mom wants to look good problem.

The two for $50 deal is not valid on sets, only on the necklaces themselves. I’m liking the simplicity of this fashion forward necklace. This is even something you can wear once your babe has outgrown their mouthing everything stage. It sells for $32.95. Black and white is also chic and goes with almost everything and this one also sells for $32.95. Instead of paying $65.90, you’ll save almost $16 and pay only $50.

Shipping is free on all orders from Shop.ca, so there is that little bonus for you too.

Shop.ca: Snugli Geo High Chair 50% off (Now $69.99, Was $159.99)

Shop.ca: Snugli Geo High Chair 50% off (Now $69.99, Was $159.99)

Shop.ca has an amazing deal on this Snugli Geo High Chair. The original price is $159.99, on sale for $79.99, but when you add this Shop.ca coupon code (MOOSE2014) you save an additional $10, making the final price $69.99.

Although I don’t own this product, there are several features I appreciate about the Snugli High Chair. It has a removable insert that can be cleaned in the dishwasher. There are three positions for adjusting the tray, and it is easy to remove with one hand. The seat of the highchair has three positions so that your infant can sit up or recline. The seat is also height adjustable, and can easily fit under the table for use without the tray as a booster seat when your little one is older (for children up to 40 lbs).

One feature that this high chair offers that is different than most is the ability to change out the style with the designer inserts. So, if you ever get bored with the Geo print, you can change out that cover for another. No need to buy a whole new highchair. Its that easy. However, the style sets may be hard to come by which is a drawback. With or without the style sets, this is a great price for a high chair!

Check out this review from one happy Snugli customer:

Love that the seat cover is a soft material and a great pattern. The chair doesn’t take up a lot of space which was important to us because of our small eating area.

As always Shop.ca offers free shipping on all purchases, no minimum required. Plus if you collect Aeroplan points, you will receive a bonus 800 points with the first order of $99+ after adding your Aeroplan card to your account.

Shop.ca: Cuisinart Smart Power Duet Now $69.99

Shop.ca: Cuisinart Smart Power Duet Now $69.99

The Cuisinart Smart Power Duet is both a food processor and a blender in one. According to Shop.ca, the suggested retail price was $149.99 and they have it on sale for just $69.99.

I did a bit of price comparing. This machine is hard to find in Canada but I found it at Bed, Bath, & Beyond Canada for $99.99. On eBay the machine started at $99.99 + shipping, and the cheapest of the Amazon.ca marketplace sellers had it for $119 + $30 shipping.

If you live in a small apartment, a bachelor suite, or a studio apartment, then you know how important it is to keep only the bare necessities when it comes to kitchen appliances. We live in a 650 sqft. apartment so I am very familiar with the limited space a galley style kitchen provides. However, we have both a food processor and a blender that we use. The blender is used on a daily basis while the food processor is taken out a few times a month. The Cuisinart Smart Power Duet would be very practical in my household as the blender attachment would stay on the base at most all times, and the food processor attachment would just come out when we are making casseroles.

I am a big fan of appliances that do double-duty and save space, so this Cuisinart Smart Power Duet is attractive. Instead of two separate appliances sitting on your counter or in a cupboard, this is one base with two attachments. You have the 40oz glass blender jar for all your smoothies and summer drinks. Then, you have the work bowl that holds three cups of ingredients, the cover with feeding tube and pusher (with a liquid dispenser), and a reversible slicing/shredding disc. While most food processors come with multiple disks these days, we have nine disks for our food processor and have only ever used the basic shredder/slicer. Anyone want a set of food processor disks?

Do keep in mind that this will not be as powerful as a dedicated food processor or a dedicated blender. Yet, most people do not need the sort of power that a big food processor can dish out unless they are using it every day. This Cuisinart Duet does have seven speeds and a 500-watt motor though, so enough power to get through the daily grind.
