Second Cup Canada: Take 50% Off Hot Chocolate When It’s Cold Outside!

Second Cup Canada: Take 50% Off Hot Chocolate When Its Cold Outside!

I find it funny that we complain all Winter about the cold, and then complain all Summer about the heat. This Canadian Winter does feel exceptionally cold though. Why not warm up a little bit with a toasty warm deal from Second Cup Canada? You can keep yourself warm with 50% off a classic Hot Chocolate from Second Cup when the temperatures drop below their forecast in certain areas of Canada during their Wintermission Promo.

Have you ever tried the Second Cup Classic Hot Chocolate? This delicious, warm beverage is a creamy blend of rich chocolate and steamed milk. This is the hot chocolate taste you know and love. I often crave a good cup of hot cocoa when watching movies in front of the fireplace, or when I am out and about and freezing my little tush off in this cold weather.

Until the 26th of January 2015, you can go to your local Second Cup Canada cafe when the temperatures are low enough to receive 50% off a delicious, classic Hot Chocolate of any size. A large hot chocolate will cost you $3.95 before this discount @ Second Cup. If it is cold enough out, you will pay just $1.98 including whipped cream. The temperatures required will vary throughout Canada. Also keep in mind that the required temperatures do not include wind chill.

  • -10 °C temperature is required for Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario (Kanata, Nepean, Orleans and Ottawa only), Quebec, Saskatchewan and New Brunswick
  • -5 °C temperature is required for British Columbia (Prince George only), the rest of Ontario, Newfoundland and Nova Scotia
  • 0 °C temperature is required for British Columbia

You can choose to enjoy your hot chocolate in the warmth of the Second Cup Cafe, or bring it along with you on your adventures. For me, today could definitely be a day to enjoy 50% off hot chocolate at Second Cup. My weather app tells me that it is partly cloudy and -19 °C. Is it bad that I feel like hibernating?

The Second Cup Classic Hot Chocolate has 390 calories, which really is not bad (and totally worth it I might add). You can get the entire nutritional information on this hot cup of cocoa on the Second Cup Canada website. Be prepared to provide proof that it is the proper temperature outside to receive your savings. A weather app on your phone should do the trick.

Second Cup Canada: Latte Tuesdays

Second Cup Canada: Latte Tuesdays

Second Cup has some special drink deals on for the summer. One of the best is Latte Tuesday, where you can pick up a regular or iced latte for less.

On Tuesday, you can purchase a medium latte for only $2.95 in Ontario, Quebec, and British Columbia, or a large for only $3.49 in the rest of the country. Oddly enough, this drink deal and the other drink promotions all exclude Calgary.

You can choose from the iced or hot cappuccino, café latte, any flavoured latte, and any tea latte for your drink. Original prices vary depending on which drink you pick. However, with this selection you can certainly get a different drink each week and probably never have to repeat your order, unless you wanted to. I would be happy with an iced cappuccino right now as the forecast for today is above 30 degrees yet again.

There will be other drink promotions going on throughout the summer. I am not much of a coffee drinker, though I make exceptions for iced coffees, so I am primarily interested in this second promotion. The Frrrozen White Hot Chocolate  is for chocolate lovers anywhere. It is a blend of white chocolate, milk, and ice for the perfect summer treat. Until the 21st of July, you can pick up a medium at participating locations for just $3.49. Again, this drink offer excludes Calgary. Now this is the drink for me. One of my favourite drinks in the world is second Cup’s frozen hot chocolate, which is essentially the milk chocolate version of this drink. Usually I am not one for white chocolate, but Second Cup’s white hot chocolate also ranks among my favourite drinks so I am very optimistic that this drink will taste fantastic. I actually have a lot of experience with Second Cup drinks because I lived half a block from one for several years and use to go there during the heat of the summer to take advantage of their air conditioning and the wonderful reading atmosphere.

There should be a new summer drink special come the 22nd of July that will replace the Frrrozen Hot Chocolate, but Latte Tuesdays will continue throughout the summer. Drink specials like these are a great way to still enjoy yourself, yet cut down on your summer spending. Drinks can easily cost $5+ these days, so save a few dollars and go with the special.

Second Cup January Java Challenge: Every Second Coffee Absolutely Free!

Second Cup January Java Challenge: Every Second Coffee Absolutely Free!

Have the holidays worn you out? Then re-energize yourself with Second Cup’s January Java Challenge and enjoy an absolutely free medium-sized cup of coffee with purchase of a medium Java of the day (brewed coffee).

Although the Java of the day varies day to day, it’s nevertheless a great way to discover all of Second Cup’s different varieties of coffee such as Hazelnut Cream, Royal Blend, or any other! Keep in mind that you will need to print a free punchcard in order to take advantage of this offer. Do make sure to let us know if you spot punchcards in-stores as well!

Either take advantage of this occasion to get free cups of joe for yourself or treat a friend to a coffee date — though, there is no need to tell them that the drink is free!

Did you know that milder coffees also have a much higher caffeine level compared to its stronger counterpart? This is because the beans of bolder coffees are roasted longer, eliminating some of the caffeine. So next time you’re cramming for a test or have more appointments than you can possibly keep track of, then definitely opt for a milder option such as the Hazelnut Cream mentioned above, French Vanilla, Caramelo or any other!

In fact, it would seem that January is the prime month for deals on caffeinated and café style beverages in general since Starbucks Canada has just recently unveiled a promotion of their own as well: grande beverages for just $2 after 2pm with a morning receipt.

What is your favourite Second Cup drink?

Chillers are soooo yummy! I love almost anything mixed with a good dose of crushed iced, and even though I don’t drink coffee: I will have coffee based chillers, they are yummy! My favourite are chocolate based though. Do you have a favourite Second Cup Chiller?

Second Cup: Medium 35th Birthday Blend only $0.75 Printable Coupon

Posted by on September 29, 2010 at 12:00 PM

Second Cup: Medium 35th Birthday Blend only $0.75 Printable Coupon

This coupon is for use only on September 30, 2010. That is the 35th birthday of Second Cup. With this coupon you can get a medium 35th birthday blend coffee for only 75 cents.

I found this offer via SPC, however, no where on the coupon does it say you have to present your SPC or your student card to use the coupon. Usually they do if you have to.

I’m not sure what the usual price for a medium coffee at Second Cup is, though I am sure it is over $0.75. I hate coffee (except for ice caps at Tim Hortons). So if anyone knows, maybe drop us a line so we know how ‘good’ a deal this is.

Hope the coffee drinkers out there can take advantage of this coupon, this post is your official 2 day heads up!

Secondcup Canada Free Wifi

Secondcup Canada Free Wifi

Heads up! Similar to Starbucks, Secondcup Canada also offer free wifi in all of its Canadian locations. I only found this out recently!

As I work from home, sometimes it is nice to pack up the laptop bag and head out for a change of scenery. I often go to Starbucks for a nice frapuccino. I can sit and check my emails and have a nice drink too. I didn’t realise that Secondcup also offered the free wifi service, so I am posting about it so that all the moosers know.

Second Cup Smoothie Special

Posted by on July 14, 2009 at 3:34 PM

Second Cup Smoothie SpecialSecond Cup is having a great deal with a “Create Your Own” Vanilla Smoothie.  From July 13-17, you can enjoy one of these drinks for just $0.99 – small size only.  Some great flavors to choose from are strawberry, mixed berry and chocolate.

Dive right into summer with our new Vanilla Yogurt Smoothie. Refreshing and delicious with a hint of tartness, this healthy booster is low in fat*, a great source of calcium** and prebiotic fibre. Enjoy your smoothie plain or have some fun creating your own flavour.

I must admit that I was terribly addicted to my Caramel Corretto at one point.  For several months, almost everyday I would stop in at my fav Second Cup, chat it up with the owner, and leave with my lovely coffee.  But soon my waist began to expand and my wallet began to thin out – not good!!
