Sony Canada: Buy A 4K Television And Get A Free PS4 Last Of Us Bundle

Sony Canada: Buy A 4K Television And Get A Free PS4 Last Of Us Bundle

One of the first things that gamers will do when they get a brand spanking new TV is – you guessed it, they’ll hook up a video game system to it. With today’s deal from Sony, whether you’re a video game fan or not, you’ll be able to do just that! For a limited time, when you purchase a 4K TV from Sony, you’ll also get a free Playstation 4 System with The Last Of Us Remastered! You’ll also qualify for free shipping. If you’re in the market for these newer luxury television sets, it never hurts to get a free PS4 system bundle with it!

4K televisions are the next big thing. They literally have to be seen to be believed! The detail that you can see in the screen of a 4K TV is so intricate, it’s incredible! Even seeing a delicious food dish on a 4K television screen will make your mouth water – the picture is that crisp and clear!

One of the cheapest 4K TVs that you can currently get from The Sony Store is the 49” X850B 4K Ultra HD TV, which is currently on sale for $2099.99 (the regular price is $2299.99). Add in the PS4 Last Of Us bundle (a $449.99 value), and you`d be saving a total of $649.99 – it`s a great bonus for such a big purchase.

I first saw a 4K TV demo at a Best Buy location half a year ago, and it still amazes me. I’m trying my best not to exaggerate, but if you have a chance to see one that’s on display at a retail location like Future Shop or Best Buy, I think you’ll be very impressed with the picture quality on them.

At this time, they’re still pretty pricey, but 4K TVs are still relatively new to the market. At Future Shop, a similar 49 inch Sony 4K TV is currently on sale for $1999.99 ($500 off), while another one is $2129.80 on Amazon. Listed below is a snippet of a review of the 49” X850B 4K Ultra HD TV from a satisfied Sony Store customer:

The colours are bright, motion is smooth, blacks are deep, and I have yet to see an artifact that isn’t the result of Internet streaming. The 4K is very impressive. There isn’t a ton of 4K content out there, but from what I have been able to watch on this unit (a few Netflix shows), this TV handles 4K wonderfully.

For a new and exciting TV experience, perhaps a 4K TV would best suit your needs. If you don`t have the funds for it now, there`s always Boxing Day! Here’s to a great weekend, Bargainmoosers! Happy hunting!

Game Access Canada: Wolfenstein: The New Order For PS4 (Used) Was $70 Now $40

Wolfenstein is one of the most influential 3D video games out there. The first title in its series, Wolfenstein 3D, garnered universal praise when it first appeared on PCs everywhere in 1992. The Wolfenstein series is still going strong, and thanks to today’s daily deal at Game Access, you can get the latest chapter for the PS4 at a great discount! Normally retailing for $69.99, you can get a used copy of Wolfenstein: The New Order from Game Access for $39.72 (plus $3 shipping). If you’re a fan of 3D shooters, then this game should be right up your alley!

In case you’re new to the Wolfenstein series, you play the role of William “B.J.” Blazkowicz, and your main objective is to battle Nazis. That’s pretty much all you need to know about this series of video games!

If you’re looking for a game that you can easily pick up and play when you’re bored, then Wolfenstein: The New Order should be able to keep you satisfied. It’s fun, it’s easy to control, and it’s something new to play on your Sony PS4 system!

I first tried out Wolfenstein 3D for the Super Nintendo system at my best friend’s house. I was amazed by the 3D first – person perspective of the game, and I found it highly addicting! Of course, Doom came out shortly afterwards (created by the same company, ID Software), and that just captivated gamers everywhere.

Currently, used copies of Wolfenstein: The New Order cost $49.99 at Best Buy and Future Shop. I’ve included a brief review from a satisfied Game Access customer below:

My expectations for this game were not high, but this turned out to be a great, fresh title. It has an interesting story, good graphics, old school gameplay (non-rechargeable health, limited ammo) and is very long. I would recommend as a purchase!

Take advantage of this deal while you can, Bargainmoosers! Happy hunting, and I hope you all have a great day!

Future Shop Canada: Skylanders Swap Force Starter Kit (PS4, Xbox One, Wii U) | Was $60 Now $30

Posted by on September 14, 2014 at 9:11 AM

Future Shop Canada: Skylanders Swap Force Starter Kit (PS4, Xbox One, Wii U) | Was $60 Now $30

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, or if you do your best to ignore everything related to video games, it’s likely that you’ve heard of Skylanders. These collectable figurines are wildly popular with children, since they’re so unique – after all, these toys are used to play a video game! You simply place the figurine of a character that you want to play as on a portal, and in no time at all you’ll see that toy come to life in the Skylanders video game! At this time, Future Shop is having a decent sale on the PS4, Xbox One, and Wii U versions of the Skylanders Swap Force starter kit (the latest entry in the series) – you can order a starter kit of this game for just $29.99! It typically costs $59.99 for both the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game. You’ll also qualify for free shipping if you order this game, so that’s another great bonus!

The Skylanders Swap Force starter kit comes with the game, portal, 3 figurines that you can use in the game, and some trading cards.

Whether you’re a kid or an adult, these Skylanders games are pretty fun. They revolutionized the genre, and they even have an imitator that’s out in the market (The Disney Infinity series of games). The current rumour is that a new Skylanders game is on the horizon, which is why Skylanders Swap Force starter kits are currently on sale at Future Shop. Regardless of that, it’s still a great deal – especially if you’ve never tried out any Skylanders video games before.

I’ve tried out this game at an in -store kiosk before (they have these at many retail locations, including Future Shop, Best Buy, and even Target). It’s very intriguing, and a lot of fun. If you’ve ever wanted your toys to come to life, this is the next best thing! Plus, the character designs are pretty creative for these figurines, so I can see why this series has so many fans.

Skylanders Swap Force typically retails for $59.99, but it’s also on sale at Best Buy for the same price of $29.99 (as we all know, Best Buy and Future Shop tend to share some deals at the same time). However, it currently costs $59.99 at Toys R Us and WalMart. I’ve also included a brief review of Skylanders Swap Force (the Wii U version) from a Future Shop customer below:

The game was really cool, totally different, and they can jump now! Also, another good thing about the new one is the fact that you can still use the old Skylanders.

Quantities are limited, so get these while you can. Hope you all enjoy your Sunday, Bargainmoosers!

Shop.ca: Playstation PS4 Last Of Us Bundle With Extra Controller & NHL 15 Was $585 Now $500 TODAY (Expired)

Were you waiting for the right opportunity to snag a Sony PS4 system? Now that NHL 15 has finally been released, hockey fans can enjoy this latest offering from EA Sports. Today’s deal should definitely pique the interest of NHL 15 fans – at Shop.ca, you can get a Sony PS4 500 GB Last Of Us bundle with an extra Dual Shock 4 controller and NHL 15 for just $499.99! This package normally costs $584.97, and it also qualifies for free shipping! Note: This is a one day deal ONLY!

If you want a good excuse to plunge into the next generation of video games, this is it. The PS4 is starting to amass an interesting catalogue of games, and since the latest NHL game is now available, it will not be a surprise to see more of these systems being sold.

This package has a little bit of everything: an extra controller, which normally costs $65 at most retailers, The Last Of Us Remastered (it has a score of 95 out of 100 on Metacritic), and NHL 15!

When I keep seeing these deals for PS4 systems, it constantly tempts me to purchase a system! 2015 is bound to be an interesting year for the PS4, Xbox One, and Wii U systems, since many highly anticipated games are set to be released.

At Best Buy and Future Shop, a PS4 system with The Last Of Us costs $449.99 – and it’s currently sold out at Best Buy! Listed below is a brief review of NHL 15 from a happy Best Buy customer:

The game looks so clear and realistic. It looks way better than the ps3′s NHL 14. Just the way the electricity is in the stadium and the way the jersey’s move makes me satisfied. The game flows very well!

Here’s to hoping that Shop.ca has plenty of these bundles in stock, because this is a wonderful deal! Happy hunting, Bargainmoosers!

Game Access: Thief For PS4 (Used) Was $35 | Now $20 (Expired)

Posted by on September 8, 2014 at 10:30 AM

Game Access: Thief For PS4 (Used) Was $35 | Now $20 (Expired)

Happy Monday, Bargainmoosers! Game Access, a website that I just recently discovered, is having a notable deal today that will pique the curiosity of Sony PS4 owners. You can score a good deal on a used copy of Thief for PS4, which normally goes for $34.72 – but if you order it from Game Access today; it will only cost $19.72 (plus $3 shipping). That’s $15 off of the regular price!

Even though it has been nearly a year since the release of the PS4, there aren’t many must – have titles for the system yet. Besides the obligatory sports games that are also out for the Xbox One, my personal favourite on the Sony PS4 so far is Knack, which I’ve played at kiosks in retail locations (I don’t own a PS4 yet, since I still have plenty of PS3 games to keep me occupied now).

I personally think this issue is common for newer consoles (just like the Xbox One), since they’re still being established. 2015 should be an interesting year for both the PS4 and the Xbox One, since they’ll both have some familiar franchises hitting their systems, such as Kingdom Hearts and Halo.

At this time, it costs $34.99 for a used copy of Thief for the PS4 at Best Buy and Future Shop. While having an interesting premise, this game has mixed reviews from critics and gamers. It has a score of 67 out of 100 on Metacritic, and some reviewers think it’s brilliant, while others think that this game is “more of the same”. I’ve included some brief reviews of Thief from Metacritic below:

One of the best action-stealth titles in years and the first serious contender for the “2014 Game of the Year” contest.

So awesome, reminds me of Dishonored. I love the stealth gameplay in this game thank you Square Enix * Eidos Montreal!!!!

If you’re a fan of the stealth genre, Thief may be a title that’s right up your alley. This deal expires on September 9th, so get it while it’s still available! Happy hunting, Bargainmoosers!

PS4 Camera On Sale $50 + Extra $10 Off With Coupon Code + Free Shipping @ NCIX Canada

Posted by on September 6, 2014 at 7:30 PM

PS4 Camera On Sale $50 + Extra $10 Off With Coupon Code + Free Shipping @ NCIX Canada

Got a PlayStation 4 or are looking into getting one? Then you’re going to want and need a PlayStation 4 camera as one isn’t included with the purchase of a console. It’s currently on sale for $49.99 (reg. $64.99) at NCIX and you can also save an additional $10 with the coupon code: PS410, bringing it down to just $39.99. It will also be shipped absolutely free!

A couple of months ago, I finally invested in the PlayStation 4 and I have to admit that I was rather bummed to discover that the camera wasn’t included. I had previously seen the air bots in action at a friend’s place and I was excited to try them out in the comfort of my own living room but activating the Playroom simply wasn’t the same without the camera. This is certainly an interesting marketing strategy on PlayStation’s behalf because although the Playroom is included on every console, the camera necessary for it isn’t, thus making it more enticing for users to go out and spend more money on this accessory! In any case, NCIX’s price drop definitely make it much more worth it, especially since Best Buy has it for $65.89 and it’s $64.99 at The Source.

It also boasts a convenient design as it’s rectangular in shape and can easily rest on either the console itself, a TV stand or perhaps even on top of the cable box. My cable box, for instance, is located in the middle of my TV stand, so that’s definitely where I would prefer to place it to make sure that it connects well to the remote(s).

Another cool feature about the PS4 camera is that you can instantly log into your account with facial recognition as well as navigate by simply voicing out commands (much like in modern cars). Of course, it’s not as seamless as one might necessarily expect from the description but it’s still a neat option to have, especially if you’re wanting to impress friends before playing a couple of multi-players games! Speaking of which,

While the NCIX coupon code mentioned in the beginning of this post expires on September 30th 2014, there is no word on when this camera will go back to its original price, up to from its sale price. For more NCIX coupon codes, be sure to keep an eye on the Bargainmoose forum.

Future Shop Canada: Last Of Us Remastered For PS4 Was $55 Now $40

Future Shop Canada: Last Of Us Remastered For PS4 Was $55 Now $40

This deal is bound to please many PS4 fans. Thanks to this recent promotion from Future Shop, you can indulge in some of the best gameplay you can find on the system for a discounted price! You can get The Last Of Us Remastered, which normally retails for $55, for $39.99 – that’s $15 off! Plus, if you order this online from Future Shop’s website, shipping will be free as it surpasses the minimum order! This game has won over 200 “game of the year” awards from different publications and websites, so yeah – it’s a very highly ranked video game.

Originally created for the PS3, The Last Of Us garnered rave reviews from both critics and gamers, who cited the title’s unique gameplay and great fun factor. Recently remastered for the newfangled Sony PS4 system, there are many fans of the game who happily purchased this newer version of the game (even if they already had it for their PS3). It’s just that fun to play.

I just got the game a few months ago for my PS3 system (I don’t have a PS4 at this time), and even though I don’t normally play games in this genre very much at this time, I’ve been having a blast with The Last Of Us. It’s also created by Naughty Dog, the company behind the original Crash Bandicoot games for the PS1 – remember how fun those games were? With remastered visuals and some extras, The Last Of Us Remastered for the PS4 is a great purchase for gamers.

You can currently find the game at The Source for $55, and it’s on sale at Amazon for $50. I’ve included a brief review for The Last Of Us Remastered from a satisfied customer from The Source below:

This game is a work of art. The storyline and game play make you feel as if you are a part of the story. This is the best game for PS4 and I hope they create more of it. The only problem I have with the game is the ending. I didn’t want it to end!

According to the Future Shop website, quantities are limited, so get this while you can. Hope you enjoy your Friday, Bargainmoosers!

(PS4 & Xbox One) Best Buy Canada: WWE 2k15 Hulkamania Edition Pre-Order – Just $70 + Free Shipping!

Posted by on August 10, 2014 at 11:30 PM

(PS4 & Xbox One) Best Buy Canada: WWE 2k15 Hulkamania Edition Pre Order Just $70 + Free Shipping!

Negativity and Hulkamania: two things that don’t go together! Luckily, you can pre-order WWE 2k15 Hulkamnia edition on PS4 or Xbox One for just $69.99 at Best Buy. It’s set to release on October 28th 2014.

First of all, let me start off by saying that you should not wait to pre-order. Best Buy lists this game at a regular price of $69.99 but everywhere else (i.e. Amazon and EB Games), it’s $109.99, which puts this deal at close to a 40% discount in comparison. It’s even already sold out at Future Shop, where it was available for $69.99 as well!

Plus, the vast majority of PlayStation and Xbox One games tend to retail for $69.99, so the fact that this limited edition is at the same price is definitely pretty awesome, especially since the regular edition of this game is retailing for that same exact price right now, but without all of the following bonus features that the Hulkamania edition has:

  • Collective art card personally autographed by Hulk Hogan
  • Funko “Hollywood” Hulk Hogan vinyl figure
  • Authentic piece of ring canvas from Hulk Hogan’s Monday Night Raw appearance on March 10, 2014 in Memphis, TN
  • Premium packaging

In this edition of the game, players are also granted access to two exclusive characters: Hulk Hogan and “Hollywood” Hulk Hogan. It’s also a game that can either be played alone as singleplayer or in a multiplayer mode as it’s in a professional wresting fighting genre. Even cooler is that this latest instalment will focus on a historical timeline of past WWE rivalries, which die hard WWE fans are sure to enjoy. On the same vein, I’m sure just about anyone could enjoy the storyline as well in order to learn more about the history of the WWE, even though it’s fake! (PS4 & Xbox One) Best Buy Canada: WWE 2k15 Hulkamania Edition Pre Order Just $70 + Free Shipping!

I have to admit that I’m not the biggest Hulk Hogan fan but this is definitely a deal I’ll be taking advantage of as soon as possible before it sells out. I’m certain that my hubby will enjoy playing, especially with the Hulk Hogan character.

Fun fact: did you know that Hulkamnia was started after Hulk Hogan won the 1984 edition of Championship Wrestling? That was 30 years ago! Even crazier is that from 2005 to 2007, Hulk Hogan made a comeback, during which he was in his 50′s!

Amazon Canada: $15 Off PS4 DualShock 4 Controller – Now $50 (EXPIRED)

Posted by on August 10, 2014 at 4:00 PM

Amazon Canada: $15 Off PS4 DualShock 4 Controller Now $50 (EXPIRED)Need an extra PS4 remote? Amazon has the DualShock 4 controller on sale for just $49.99 (reg. $64.99).

It seems that when you need or want something, there are never any deals around, but as soon as you buy it at full price is when the discounts begin pouring in! Since I only recently bought the PlayStation 4, I also bought an extra remote at Costco, but since there were no deals to be had at that moment and hubby and I were excited to play the Lego Marvel Super Heroes game together, we bought it at its full price of $59.99. Speaking of which, it’s always at that price at Costco, but it’s currently sold out online. The Source has this remote for $64.99, while Future Shop and Best Buy have it for $65.89.

Amazon’s price reduction is definitely the best one all around and I doubt it will go down any lower than that any time soon. Even if you don’t have a PS4 yet, if are planning on buying one soon, then it might be a good idea to take advantage of this deal, especially since you won’t have to worry about any pesky shipping fees as Amazon ships orders over $25 for free.

Filled with AR Bots, which come to life in the PlayRoom, the PS4 remote differs greatly from its PS3 ancestor. On top of being easier and more comfortable to hold, it also features a built-in speaker in an effort to enhance video game-play. In fact, my hubby was playing InFamous: Second Son the other day with hardly any volume on the TV because our baby was sleeping in the same room, when all of a sudden, the remote emitted a loud swooshing noise. Luckily, it didn’t wake up the little one, but it’s still a neat feature to have — assuming there are no sleeping children in the same room!

In fact, the PS4 remote has been extremely well-received by the gaming community, with countless positive reviews like this one:

I received my DualShock 4 and immediately plugged it into my ps3 and my pc. It just feels great to use and makes me feel like Sony really did listen to fans when it comes to the new PlayStation.

Unfortunately the touch pad is just that: a touch pad, but it’s still a neat feature to have as you can use it to swipe and trigger specific features, depending on the game you’re playing. In the case of the AR Bots, you can use the touch pad to control them as you can see in Ali-A Youtube video, but keep in mind that the PlayStation 4 Eye Camera is needed for this and it’s sold separately.

Have you bought the PlayStation 4 yet? What do you think of the new remote?

(PS4 & Xbox One) Pre-Order Batman: Arkham Knight For Just $57 + Free Shipping @ Amazon.ca

Posted by on August 1, 2014 at 9:00 PM

(PS4 & Xbox One) Pre Order Batman: Arkham Knight For Just $57 + Free Shipping @ Amazon.ca

The dawn is coming and luckily, you can save a couple of bucks before it does. Batman: Arkham Knight is coming out in 2015 and for a limited time, you can pre-order it for just $56.99 at Amazon for either PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. Its regular retail price is of $69.99, which put this deal at a 19% discount. Plus, since Amazon offers free shipping to most orders over $25, you are also sure to get your game shipped at no additional cost!

One of the trendiest quotes in the online community right now is: “Always be yourself! Unless you can be Batman, then always be Batman”. I couldn’t agree with it more, and what better way to be Batman than by playing this iconic character on either PlayStation 4 or the Xbox One?

Keep in mind that although Amazon is displaying an October 2014 release for this game, this is inaccurate. Rocksteady’s marketing game manager recently released a statement saying that the release date has been pushed back to 2015, though he hasn’t specified when exactly, due to the fact that they want to make sure that the game is absolutely perfect. In fact, his exact words were: “we just want to make this the best experience that we can, and that takes time”, as published on Gamespot. Definitely can’t argue with that, though I’m sure all of you Batman fans are eagerly awaiting its release!

Given that the last Batman to be released on PlayStation, Batman: Arkham City, was a major success, I have no doubts that the upcoming one will be just as awesome, especially since it will be tailored to the new video game consoles. I haven’t tried Xbox One yet but I have recently invested in a PlayStation 4 and I must say that it is all it’s cracked up to be. The graphics are absolutely phenomenal and I’m definitely looking forward to giving the new Batman a whirl, simply to see the level of details that will be injected into the game. In fact, here’s a review I found on Arkham City on Amazon:

This game is by far the best game I have ever played I definitely recommend this game if you are a batman fan!!!

Have you played any of the previous Batman games? What are your thoughts on them?

(PS4) Killzone: Shadow Fall Just $20 @ Amazon.ca (Hot!)

Posted by on July 28, 2014 at 7:45 PM

(PS4) Killzone: Shadow Fall Just $20 @ Amazon.ca (Hot!)

Hurry on over to Amazon because while supplies last (or whenever they decide to end the promotion), you can get Killzone: Shadowfall for just $19.94, which is 67% off the original price!

Considering that this is a PlayStation 4 game and one that was released relatively recently (November 15th 2014), this is an incredible deal. Price comparing this deal, the cheapest I have found it anywhere else is at Best Buy and Future Shop, where it’s on sale for $29.99.

Killzone: Shadow Fall is very similar to Call of Duty in that it is a first-person shooter game but it differs in the story line as it focuses on the missions of Lucas Kellan, a “Shadow Marshall” who finds himself in the middle of war. The game can also be played either as single-player or multi-player with others online.

Reviews for this game are also generally favourable, with GameSpot rating it 7 out of 10. In fact, here’s what GameSpot’s Kevin VanOrd had to say about it:

As much as I enjoyed my online time with Killzone: Shadow Fall–and as much as I will enjoy lots more time with it, unlocking perks that allow me to personalize my weapons–I missed Killzone 3′s jump pack, which brought a nifty nimbleness to the battlegrounds.

The only hitch is that you will need to shop for over $25 in order to have your order qualify for free shipping but that shouldn’t be too hard as you will need just $5 worth of merchandise. Amazon’s deals store is a great place to find good discounts. You could, for instance, get a number of DVDs for $6.99 or less, such as Rise of the Planet of the Apes for $6.99 (reg. $16.98), Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 for $6.88 (reg. $24.95), Rio for $4.88 (reg. $21.98) and the list goes on and on.

If you have yet to upgrade to a PlayStation 4, then now may be a good time to do so, especially since Walmart’s PlayStation 4 deal that I wrote about a couple of days ago is still on. For a limited time, when you get the PlayStation 4 console at Walmart, you will also receive a $50 gift card for free. I just upgraded to the fourth generation console last week and I must admit that it was totally worth it. Yes it’s expensive, but the graphics are crisp and the level of details makes even paying as high as $70 for a game (usual price) totally worth it.

Future Shop Canada 4 Day Sale: $70 Off PS4 Watch Dogs Bundle – Now $453

Posted by on July 11, 2014 at 5:00 PM

Future Shop Canada 4 Day Sale: $70 Off PS4 Watch Dogs Bundle Now $453

Still waiting to upgrade to a PlayStation 4? Then you might want to check out Future Shop’s four day sale, because during the next couple of days, the PlayStation 4 Watch Dogs bundle is down by $70 to just $453.49 (reg. $523.49).

On its own, the PS4 with one remote retails for $453.49 at Future Shop and $449.99 at Walmart. The Source has it on sale for $429.99 right now, but since you’re going to be needing a game to play anyway, then a bundle is the way to go. Costco has the Infamous Second Son bundle with two remotes for $564.99 and while it’s definitely worth it because it brings the price of the console down to just $363.22 ($65.89 regular price for each remote + $69.99 for the game), if you have no need for the second remote or don’t see yourself enjoying the included game, then the Watch Dogs bundle may be the way to go.

Since at Future Shop, Watch Dogs retails for $69.99, this means that with the bundle, you will actually be paying just $383.50 for the console on its own. Even better is that this is a highly acclaimed game with an average rating of eight out of ten. It basically revolves around the adventures of Aiden Pearce, a hacker who seeks to avenge the death of his niece. The cool part about the game is that you can choose to either perform the missions as a law-abiding citizen or in antagonism of the law. Here’s how one reviewer quickly summed up this game:

Two words: Awesome game!

Xbox fans will also be delighted to know that the Xbox One 500GB Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag bundle is also on sale for $503.49 (reg. $563.49). From the four day sale, there are also reductions on a couple of TVs, a washing machine, a laptop, speakers, cell phones etc. If you’re in need of headphones, then you might want to check out the Sony over-ear MDRZX310APB headphones as they’re now just $30.39 (reg. $50.39). They’re $49.99 everywhere else and can be used with a smartphone for hands-free use, have an integrated microphone, and the ear cups can even swivel! Another feature I particularly like is that the cord is a Y-type, which typically helps to reduce tangles.

Shipping is free or you can also reserve it in-stores to pick it up as soon as possible.

Staples Canada: Assassins Creed IV Black Flag For PS4 – Now $30

Posted by on July 9, 2014 at 6:30 PM

Staples Canada: Assassins Creed IV Black Flag For PS4 Now $30

Staples has a great deal on Assassins Creed IV – Black Flag: it’s now on sale for just $29.97.

When it comes to video games, I have a really bad habit of buying games and never playing them. In fact, I still have this version of Assassin’s Creed but for PS3 sitting unpackaged alongside BioShock2, Resident Evil 7 and Call of Duty: Black Ops on a shelf in my living room. Although Call of Duty has only been played once and will probably never get played again, but that’s a whole ‘nother story altogether.

Released in November 2013, Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag throws the player in the 18th century during the Golden Age of Piracy and centres around the adventure of Edward Kenway, a pirate who gets drawn into an old war.

As one of the top video games reviewers, GameSpot has actually rated this game 9 out of 10, with Shaun McInnis making the following persuading statement to play the game:

Black Flag doesn’t just present a beautiful world; it gives you a mountain of reasons to run off and go exploring.

Story-wise, the PS3 and PS4 versions of this game seem to be the same, but the real differences lie within the quality of the graphics, which you can clearly view in RajmanGaming’s Youtube video comparing the two. The colours are much more vivid on the PS4 and there are far more details (i.e. you can clearly see the waves in the ocean on the PS4, whereas it’s rather blurry on the PS3).

This game is actually still sold at its full price of $59.99 at EB Games and Best Buy. Future Shop has it on sale for $49.99 and Amazon has it at the lowest price, but still higher than the one at Staples, at $39.96.

Since shipping is only free on orders over $45, you can also check out the other two games for PlayStation 4 that you can also get for just $29.97: Need for Speed or Knack. Both are definitely great deals, although Amazon has Knack for $28.64.

If you’re on the hunt for furniture, then be sure to also use the Staples printable coupons available on our forum to save up to $100 off when you shop in-stores. There are three individual coupons that may only be used on furniture: one for $20 off orders over $100, another for $50 off orders over $250 and the last one for $100 off orders over $500.

Shop.ca: Today only Save 15% on PlayStation SONY PS4 500GB Watchdogs with Controller Bundle

If you are looking to upgrade your gaming system or add a different platform to your repertoire, this is a pretty decent deal. The original price is $584.97, on sale for $499, a savings of $85.97.

For those of you who aren’t immersed in the gaming world (don’t worry, I’m not either), there are a few things you should know before you decide to surprise your man and upgrade his system for Father’s Day. The PS4 is not backwards compatible, meaning if he has an older Sony Playstation system his games won’t work on the PS4.

Despite the fact that I am not a gamer there are two features I personally appreciate. One is the PS4 also meets our DVD/Blu-Ray requirements thus eliminating the need to have a second device in our electronics tower. Secondly, if you are a Netflix subscriber, you can sign-in to your account through your PS4 and stream movies, etc., directly to your tv.

For the sake of price comparison, if you were to buy the the system, controller and the game separately, you are looking at approximately $565 so you are still saving money with this deal. For example at Amazon.ca:

Gaming system and price aside, I certainly don’t have any experience with the Watch Dogs game itself. If the gamer in your life  enjoys first person shooters, I think this game will be a hit.  This reviewer summed it up pretty nicely:

This game is absolutely incredible. Even after having finished the campaign I keep going back to it, whether it is to complete extra missions, play in the fun online modes, experience the mini games, or just casually explore the open world. The game’s mechanics and systems make for some very dynamic and rewarding encounters. Gameplay is king here, where you have a freedom in how to tackle situations that alot of other games just don’t have. The graphics are gorgeous, and the atmosphere conveyed as a result of the graphics is truly stunning. The open world city feels alive, with each pedestrian having a story, and going about their daily lives.

As always Shop.ca offers free shipping on all purchases, no minimum required. Please note: No promo codes or bonuses are available with this offer.

Future Shop & Best Buy Canada: Up To $60 Off PlayStation 4 Bundle (Now $453 | Was $513)

Future Shop & Best Buy Canada: Up To $60 Off PlayStation 4 Bundle (Now $453 | Was $513)

Have you been diligently waiting for the PS4 to go on sale? Then you’re in for a treat because during the next couple of days, you can get a PlayStation 4 Bundle at either Future Shop or Best Buy for just $453.49. Both bundles comes with the PS4 console and remote, the only difference being that while Future Shop has it bundled with the inFAMOUS: Second Son game, Best Buy, on the other hand, is offering it with Killzone Shadow Fall.

On its own, a PlayStation console and remote control is actually the same price as this bundle, which means that you’re essentially getting the game for free.

Game Differences

inFAMOUS is a newly released action-adventure game (March 21st 2014) that follows suit in a series of previously released titles by the same name. It is centered around the story of Delsin Rowe, who, upon discovering superhuman powers, fights back against authorities aiming to eliminate superhumans.

Killzone, on the other hand, is completely different in nature as it’s a first-person shooter and is a somewhat older game as it was released on November 15th 2013. It’s a game that can be played in either single or multiplayer modes with the goal of surviving attacks and protecting the city.

Since I’m particularly terrible at Call of Duty, another first person shooter game that is highly popular, I would prefer to throw myself into the story of inFAMOUS, but to each their own!

Price Comparison

On its own, a PlayStation console and remote control is actually the same price as this bundle, which means that you’re essentially getting the game for free.

Costco has this same bundle but with an extra remote included for a total of $568.49. However, since a remote retails for about $60, both Future Shop’s and Best Buy’s deals come up to being cheaper by close to $50.

Both Future Shop and Best Buy also offer absolutely free shipping on orders of $20 or more, which means that you’re guaranteed to get your bundle shipped for free. There is also the option of reserving in-stores for same day pick-up if you would prefer to avoid waiting, which I’m sure you would!

If you already have a PS4, be sure to share with us your feedback on it in the comments section!
