(PS4) Killzone: Shadow Fall Just $20 @ Amazon.ca (Hot!)

(PS4) Killzone: Shadow Fall Just $20 @ Amazon.ca (Hot!)

Hurry on over to Amazon because while supplies last (or whenever they decide to end the promotion), you can get Killzone: Shadowfall for just $19.94, which is 67% off the original price!

Considering that this is a PlayStation 4 game and one that was released relatively recently (November 15th 2014), this is an incredible deal. Price comparing this deal, the cheapest I have found it anywhere else is at Best Buy and Future Shop, where it’s on sale for $29.99.

Killzone: Shadow Fall is very similar to Call of Duty in that it is a first-person shooter game but it differs in the story line as it focuses on the missions of Lucas Kellan, a “Shadow Marshall” who finds himself in the middle of war. The game can also be played either as single-player or multi-player with others online.

Reviews for this game are also generally favourable, with GameSpot rating it 7 out of 10. In fact, here’s what GameSpot’s Kevin VanOrd had to say about it:

As much as I enjoyed my online time with Killzone: Shadow Fall–and as much as I will enjoy lots more time with it, unlocking perks that allow me to personalize my weapons–I missed Killzone 3′s jump pack, which brought a nifty nimbleness to the battlegrounds.

The only hitch is that you will need to shop for over $25 in order to have your order qualify for free shipping but that shouldn’t be too hard as you will need just $5 worth of merchandise. Amazon’s deals store is a great place to find good discounts. You could, for instance, get a number of DVDs for $6.99 or less, such as Rise of the Planet of the Apes for $6.99 (reg. $16.98), Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 for $6.88 (reg. $24.95), Rio for $4.88 (reg. $21.98) and the list goes on and on.

If you have yet to upgrade to a PlayStation 4, then now may be a good time to do so, especially since Walmart’s PlayStation 4 deal that I wrote about a couple of days ago is still on. For a limited time, when you get the PlayStation 4 console at Walmart, you will also receive a $50 gift card for free. I just upgraded to the fourth generation console last week and I must admit that it was totally worth it. Yes it’s expensive, but the graphics are crisp and the level of details makes even paying as high as $70 for a game (usual price) totally worth it.

Future Shop Canada 4 Day Sale: $70 Off PS4 Watch Dogs Bundle – Now $453

Posted by on July 11, 2014 at 5:00 PM

Future Shop Canada 4 Day Sale: $70 Off PS4 Watch Dogs Bundle Now $453

Still waiting to upgrade to a PlayStation 4? Then you might want to check out Future Shop’s four day sale, because during the next couple of days, the PlayStation 4 Watch Dogs bundle is down by $70 to just $453.49 (reg. $523.49).

On its own, the PS4 with one remote retails for $453.49 at Future Shop and $449.99 at Walmart. The Source has it on sale for $429.99 right now, but since you’re going to be needing a game to play anyway, then a bundle is the way to go. Costco has the Infamous Second Son bundle with two remotes for $564.99 and while it’s definitely worth it because it brings the price of the console down to just $363.22 ($65.89 regular price for each remote + $69.99 for the game), if you have no need for the second remote or don’t see yourself enjoying the included game, then the Watch Dogs bundle may be the way to go.

Since at Future Shop, Watch Dogs retails for $69.99, this means that with the bundle, you will actually be paying just $383.50 for the console on its own. Even better is that this is a highly acclaimed game with an average rating of eight out of ten. It basically revolves around the adventures of Aiden Pearce, a hacker who seeks to avenge the death of his niece. The cool part about the game is that you can choose to either perform the missions as a law-abiding citizen or in antagonism of the law. Here’s how one reviewer quickly summed up this game:

Two words: Awesome game!

Xbox fans will also be delighted to know that the Xbox One 500GB Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag bundle is also on sale for $503.49 (reg. $563.49). From the four day sale, there are also reductions on a couple of TVs, a washing machine, a laptop, speakers, cell phones etc. If you’re in need of headphones, then you might want to check out the Sony over-ear MDRZX310APB headphones as they’re now just $30.39 (reg. $50.39). They’re $49.99 everywhere else and can be used with a smartphone for hands-free use, have an integrated microphone, and the ear cups can even swivel! Another feature I particularly like is that the cord is a Y-type, which typically helps to reduce tangles.

Shipping is free or you can also reserve it in-stores to pick it up as soon as possible.

Staples Canada: Assassins Creed IV Black Flag For PS4 – Now $30

Posted by on July 9, 2014 at 6:30 PM

Staples Canada: Assassins Creed IV Black Flag For PS4 Now $30

Staples has a great deal on Assassins Creed IV – Black Flag: it’s now on sale for just $29.97.

When it comes to video games, I have a really bad habit of buying games and never playing them. In fact, I still have this version of Assassin’s Creed but for PS3 sitting unpackaged alongside BioShock2, Resident Evil 7 and Call of Duty: Black Ops on a shelf in my living room. Although Call of Duty has only been played once and will probably never get played again, but that’s a whole ‘nother story altogether.

Released in November 2013, Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag throws the player in the 18th century during the Golden Age of Piracy and centres around the adventure of Edward Kenway, a pirate who gets drawn into an old war.

As one of the top video games reviewers, GameSpot has actually rated this game 9 out of 10, with Shaun McInnis making the following persuading statement to play the game:

Black Flag doesn’t just present a beautiful world; it gives you a mountain of reasons to run off and go exploring.

Story-wise, the PS3 and PS4 versions of this game seem to be the same, but the real differences lie within the quality of the graphics, which you can clearly view in RajmanGaming’s Youtube video comparing the two. The colours are much more vivid on the PS4 and there are far more details (i.e. you can clearly see the waves in the ocean on the PS4, whereas it’s rather blurry on the PS3).

This game is actually still sold at its full price of $59.99 at EB Games and Best Buy. Future Shop has it on sale for $49.99 and Amazon has it at the lowest price, but still higher than the one at Staples, at $39.96.

Since shipping is only free on orders over $45, you can also check out the other two games for PlayStation 4 that you can also get for just $29.97: Need for Speed or Knack. Both are definitely great deals, although Amazon has Knack for $28.64.

If you’re on the hunt for furniture, then be sure to also use the Staples printable coupons available on our forum to save up to $100 off when you shop in-stores. There are three individual coupons that may only be used on furniture: one for $20 off orders over $100, another for $50 off orders over $250 and the last one for $100 off orders over $500.

Shop.ca: Today only Save 15% on PlayStation SONY PS4 500GB Watchdogs with Controller Bundle

Posted by on June 11, 2014 at 2:30 PM

Shop.ca: Today only Save 15% on PlayStation SONY PS4 500GB Watchdogs with Controller Bundle

If you are looking to upgrade your gaming system or add a different platform to your repertoire, this is a pretty decent deal. The original price is $584.97, on sale for $499, a savings of $85.97.

For those of you who aren’t immersed in the gaming world (don’t worry, I’m not either), there are a few things you should know before you decide to surprise your man and upgrade his system for Father’s Day. The PS4 is not backwards compatible, meaning if he has an older Sony Playstation system his games won’t work on the PS4.

Despite the fact that I am not a gamer there are two features I personally appreciate. One is the PS4 also meets our DVD/Blu-Ray requirements thus eliminating the need to have a second device in our electronics tower. Secondly, if you are a Netflix subscriber, you can sign-in to your account through your PS4 and stream movies, etc., directly to your tv.

For the sake of price comparison, if you were to buy the the system, controller and the game separately, you are looking at approximately $565 so you are still saving money with this deal. For example at Amazon.ca:

Gaming system and price aside, I certainly don’t have any experience with the Watch Dogs game itself. If the gamer in your life  enjoys first person shooters, I think this game will be a hit.  This reviewer summed it up pretty nicely:

This game is absolutely incredible. Even after having finished the campaign I keep going back to it, whether it is to complete extra missions, play in the fun online modes, experience the mini games, or just casually explore the open world. The game’s mechanics and systems make for some very dynamic and rewarding encounters. Gameplay is king here, where you have a freedom in how to tackle situations that alot of other games just don’t have. The graphics are gorgeous, and the atmosphere conveyed as a result of the graphics is truly stunning. The open world city feels alive, with each pedestrian having a story, and going about their daily lives.

As always Shop.ca offers free shipping on all purchases, no minimum required. Please note: No promo codes or bonuses are available with this offer.

Future Shop & Best Buy Canada: Up To $60 Off PlayStation 4 Bundle (Now $453 | Was $513)

Posted by on June 6, 2014 at 7:30 PM

Future Shop & Best Buy Canada: Up To $60 Off PlayStation 4 Bundle (Now $453 | Was $513)

Have you been diligently waiting for the PS4 to go on sale? Then you’re in for a treat because during the next couple of days, you can get a PlayStation 4 Bundle at either Future Shop or Best Buy for just $453.49. Both bundles comes with the PS4 console and remote, the only difference being that while Future Shop has it bundled with the inFAMOUS: Second Son game, Best Buy, on the other hand, is offering it with Killzone Shadow Fall.

On its own, a PlayStation console and remote control is actually the same price as this bundle, which means that you’re essentially getting the game for free.

Game Differences

inFAMOUS is a newly released action-adventure game (March 21st 2014) that follows suit in a series of previously released titles by the same name. It is centered around the story of Delsin Rowe, who, upon discovering superhuman powers, fights back against authorities aiming to eliminate superhumans.

Killzone, on the other hand, is completely different in nature as it’s a first-person shooter and is a somewhat older game as it was released on November 15th 2013. It’s a game that can be played in either single or multiplayer modes with the goal of surviving attacks and protecting the city.

Since I’m particularly terrible at Call of Duty, another first person shooter game that is highly popular, I would prefer to throw myself into the story of inFAMOUS, but to each their own!

Price Comparison

On its own, a PlayStation console and remote control is actually the same price as this bundle, which means that you’re essentially getting the game for free.

Costco has this same bundle but with an extra remote included for a total of $568.49. However, since a remote retails for about $60, both Future Shop’s and Best Buy’s deals come up to being cheaper by close to $50.

Both Future Shop and Best Buy also offer absolutely free shipping on orders of $20 or more, which means that you’re guaranteed to get your bundle shipped for free. There is also the option of reserving in-stores for same day pick-up if you would prefer to avoid waiting, which I’m sure you would!

If you already have a PS4, be sure to share with us your feedback on it in the comments section!

Dell Canada: Watch Dogs – Now $58 (PS4/ Xbox)

Posted by on June 2, 2014 at 5:30 PM

Dell Canada: Watch Dogs Now $58 (PS4/ Xbox)

*Gasp*! Watch Dogs just came out and yet it’s already on sale at Dell Canada! This is particularly shocking because newly released games can usually only be had at their full regular price of $69.99 and yet you can get this action-adventure Ubisoft game for just $57.99.

Despite the fact that Dell is showing this game as being from $59.99 with a current discount of $2, this is actually the lowest price available right now as all of the other major competitors like Best Buy, Amazon and Future Shop all have it for close to $69.99.

Very similar to Grand Theft Auto, it’s a single-player game play that focuses on the story of a hacker who can manipulate the city by gaining access to surveillance cameras, controlling trains, stealing banking information etc. The player has to walk or drive around the city, performing a variety of missions with the goal of avenging the main character’s niece, which can either be played in antagonism of the law or by following the rules.

Overall, Watch Dogs has already generated a tremendous amount of positive reviews, which have praised the cleverly-designed missions and action graphics. In fact, even GameSpot has given it a rating of 8 out of 10, while IGN rated it 7.5 out of 10. These may not be full ratings of 10 out of 10 but they are still good enough to make me want to try this game. I’m particularly excited about the possibility of hacking the city and going against the law. Plus, Ubisoft also has a really good track record for created enthralling games with notable titles such as Assassin’s Creed, Batman, Far Cry, Just Dance, Prince of Persia, Rayman, Resident Evil 4, and many others. In fact, they have also produced more than 30 Tom Clancy games like Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six and Splinter Cell, with numerous instalments of each.

Father’s Day is coming up quick but it isn’t just a special occasion for your own father as Watch Dogs could make a great gift for a spouse who has just become a new daddy. Dell Canada: Watch Dogs Now $58 (PS4/ Xbox)  But hurry because this awesome deal expires soon and you won’t even have to pay shipping fees as Dell always offers free shipping.

What about you Moosers? Would you pick to play for or against the law?

Amazon.com: Get Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag for PS3 for $30 then Upgrade to PS4 Version for Free or $9.99!

Posted by on December 3, 2013 at 12:15 PM

Amazon.com: Get Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag for PS3 for $30 then Upgrade to PS4 Version for Free or $9.99!

The latest game of one of the best series on whatever console you have from Amazon.com!

You’re getting the PS3 version of AC4:BF for $29.99 and then upgrading to the PS4 version for free or $9.99, depending. We’ll get in to that later.

This is a weird deal so listen up and hold on to your butts. I’m going to make a list for you.

  1. This is Amazon.com, not .ca. Get an American friend’s address and use that. Don’t worry, this is a digital copy so they won’t be shipping anything to your good friend Brian P. May of Des Moines, IA.
  2. Click on the link above and choose to purchase the Digital Version Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag for PS3. It is $29.99 right now. It will give you a digital code to get the game.
  3. Sign in to the Playstation Entertainment Network account section.
  4. Click on redeem prepaid card under account.
  5. Enter the code you got from Amazon in step #2.
  6. If you got a PS4, you likely got a card in there with a free trial of Playstation+, Sony Unlimited Music and, most importantly, $10 to use in the Playstation Store. Redeem the $10 code in the same fashion in which you redeemed the code in step #5. If you don’t have this code or already used your free money, get out the credit card, you’ll need it again.
  7. Go to the Playstation Entertainment Network Video Game Store PS3 to PS4 Upgrade page.
  8. Buy the PS4 version on Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag for only $9.99. If you have the $10 credit mentioned in step #6, you get it for free and have $0.01 left just for fun!
  • A couple of notes: first, I’ve tested this and it does indeed work. I now own AC4 for PS3 and PS4 for only $29.99. Secondly, you can redeem the codes on your console but I gave the steps to do it on your computer since you’re probably on your computer right now.

BOOM! What, what!? PS4 version for $20 – $30 less than retail! That’s right! That’s just how we roll here at Bargainmoose!

Playstation Network Canada: Spend $50, Get $10 Back – Just In Time For The PS4

Posted by on October 19, 2013 at 11:00 AM

Playstation Network Canada: Spend $50, Get $10 Back Just In Time For The PS4

There is nothing like getting money for doing something you’d do anyway. That’s exactly what you’re getting with this awesome deal from Sony!

Every time you spend $50 on PSN, you get $10 in PSN credit. This is even valid on PS4 day one digital pre-orders!

This is a great deal if you already buy all your games on PSN. Just keep on doing what you’re doing and you’ll start building up some credit. In fact, if you’ve been buying for a while, you might already have credit as this deal has been going on for a bit previously.

I don’t buy much on PSN and I don’t really know why. I abhor physical media, but I buy all my console games on disc. I don’t even buy computer games on disk, just console games. It’s very odd. If you’re like me and very rarely buy on PSN, this sale might be a great opportunity to start.
