Pricematters Canada: Nikon D5000 DSLR Camera Now $499.99

Posted by on March 21, 2013 at 9:00 PM

Pricematters Canada: Nikon D5000 DSLR Camera Now $499.99

Pricematters Canada has a nice deal on a re-certified Nikon D5000 DSLR Camera with lens. originally $769.99 the camera is on sale for $499.99.

It includes the 3x AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR lens. The product is recertified, but recertified products usually come with a 1 year manufacturer’s warranty.

Nikon is well known for their cameras – their quality is legendary. This is a great price for an entry level DSLR camera from Nikon. On trustedreviews.com (a UK website) the camera has received a 9/10 rating. They have an extensive review of the camera’s features as well as example photos and photo tests taken with the camera. A great review site to check out if you are planning to purchase.

I have a DSLR camera and they are certainly worth the investment. I have a Sony, but if I was ever to do it all over again I would go for a Nikon. The accessories that fit Nikon and Canon cameras don’t fit Sony cameras. Nikon also has a huge amount of prestige behind it and I like to think that is there for a reason.

I price compared with Amazon.com which has this camera listed at $609.99 on sale.

Shipping varies depending on province.

Pricematters Canada: Men’s Boardroom Pro-Bowler Drytech Shirt Now $4

Pricematters Canada: Mens Boardroom Pro Bowler Drytech Shirt Now $4

Pricematters Canada is clearing out their selection of Men’s Boardroom *Winning* Pro-Bowler Drytech Shirts in black/tan. Originally $49.99 these shirts are on sale for $3.95.

Shipping is not included in this price and varies depending on province. For Alberta I was looking at $10.95. It is best to buy in bulk because the shipping charge was the same for one shirt as it was for five shirts.

Sizes available are small, medium, or large. The shirt is made of Stretch Twill and set in a short-sleeve full button collared shirt with Drytech tone-on-tone side panels. Boardroom shirts are made in Vancouver, BC out of both ‘virgin’ and recycled polyester. They are known for these properties:

  • reliable
  • strong
  • durable
  • long-lasting
  • color-fast
  • anti-shrink
  • anti-fade
  • highly breathable
  • flexible
  • anti-wrinkle
  • easy to work with
  • easy to care for

Pricematters Canada: UGGs On Sale Plus an Extra 25% Off

UGGs are already a really good price at Pricematters Canada, but add a 25% off coupon on top of that and get them for a steal, with free shipping too!

I don’t care if people think UGGs are ugly, they are probably the most comfortable, warmest boots I’ve ever owned. I also see that they have some stylish options now.

These Tularosa boots are stylish in black or camel with front lace-up and tribal detail. The insole, lining and trim are sheepskin covered, which is what makes them so warm and comfy. I absolutely hate socks, so I love a boot I can slip on without socks and still feel warm and dry, even outside in the Canadian winter. These wholesale for $199 and are on sale for $159, but save another $40 with coupon code and get them for only $119.

These are the classic UGGs, in a short boot. These are the ones I owned (although the long ones) and the only reason I don’t have them anymore is that my husband spilled a vat of fryer oil all over them. Don’t ask, he is still not forgiven for that one. This would be a great time to replace them because I definitely paid a lot more for them than this price! These boots are like slippers that cradle your feet and are lightweight, warm and cozy. They wholesale for $169.99, get them for only $101.99.

If you are interested in something other than boots, UGGs has purses too. This Australian knit zip satchel mushroom handbag is cute! Wholesales for $249.99, but get it for only $142.49. That’s a savings of over $100 from the wholesale.

Although Bargainmoose has a special exclusive coupon for 15% off at Pricematters for the month of February, it unfortunately does not work with the UGGs coupon code. But, you can use it for other purchases at Pricematters. Check out the other Pricematters coupon codes on the Bargainmoose forum while you are at it. You might find something else you like!

If you are in the market for a LeapFrog LeapPad Explorer, now is the time. My kids have these and my one son rarely puts it down. Some might think that is a bad thing, but this really is a learning toy. In the car he reads stories on it, watches educational videos and plays learning video games. His favourite game is Mr. Pencil, where he basically traces what is on the screen, but in a fun way. I honestly think it has improved his fine motor skills. There are also games that use logic and spatial awareness. I love that you can download apps right from your computer. I bought the LeapPad for over $100 during Christmas 2011, it is on sale at PriceMatters for $49.99, but with our exclusive coupon, you’ll get it for only $42.49 (recertified).

I went looking through the PriceMatters website to see what other deals I could find and found this Starfrit Salad Spinner. I have this salad spinner, bought as a gift from my mother who was in love with it. It didn’t take me long to be in love with it either. I love that I can wash fruit and veggies (not just lettuce) in here, by keeping it in a water bath, which they say is the best way to remove pesticide residue. Then, once I have soaked it long enough, I can spin it until it is really dry. I love seeing how much dirt is at the bottom of the bowl after I do this. Sold wholesale for $15, they have it on for $11.99, but with our exclusive discount, you get it for only $10.19.

I can’t go away from this post without mentioning the Xbox 360 250G With Kinect Special Edition, on sale for $229.99, regularly $394.99, get it for only $194.49! That’s a savings of over $200 from the wholesale price.

Shipping depends on location.

Pricematters Canada: LeapFrog LeapPad Explorer Was $78 | Now $44.99

Pricematters Canada: LeapFrog LeapPad Explorer Was $78 | Now $44.99

Regularly priced at $77.99, the LeapFrog LeapPad Explorer is on sale for $49.99 at Pricematters Canada. And you can get an extra $5 discount when you use the exclusive Pricematters coupon code bargainmoose - making it only $44.99. Shipping depends on province.

I actually have seen this device priced at $80 other places.

The Leapster GS comes equipped with 2GB of memory, motion sensor, a built-in camera and video recorder, and access to a library of over 300 apps, videos, music, and more! You also have the choice to choose a green or pink system. According to the age rating system on Chapters, it is age appropriate from 3 to 12 years. Of course this depends upon the games you would put on the system.

I checked out games for the system. Full price they are about $25 to $30. On a good sale you should be able to get them for much cheaper. I have seen games from LeapFrog going for $10 to $15 on a really good sale.

Shipping depends on location.

I price compared with Amazon Canada which has this listed at $149.99 and on sale for $109.83. May I note: huge price difference. Even though Pricematters gives very little (like no) information on the product, it does not appear to be refurbished as they usually are pretty good at saying so. Even if it is refurbished – this is still a really awesome deal. You are paying 1/3rd of the original price and still over 1/2 off the current retail price.

Price Matters Canada: PlayStation Move Bundle only $44.99 (Refurb)

Price Matters Canada: PlayStation Move Bundle only $44.99 (Refurb)

Price Matters Canada has a hot deal on the Playstation Move Bundle, now only $49.99. This system usually sells for over $100 at other stores. Plus, when you use our exclusive Bargainmoose Price Matters promo code (bargainmoose) for an extra 10% discount, you can get it for $44.99!

The PlayStation Move bundle features everything you need to get started playing this realistic motion gaming experience. Featuring the games Medieval Moves: Deadmund’s Quest and Sports Champions, use the motion controls to battle, throw, swing and much more. Fight skeletons, take over a kingdom, or enjoy a game of table tennis. This bundle wholesales for $94.99, so you are getting it for almost half the price of wholesale.

While researching reviews of this system, one reviewer said that this system is better than xBOX Kinect, based on it being a “more mature system”. I didn’t see any poor reviews of the system or the games included.

Please note that this product is Recertified, which means it is one that was returned by a customer, for whatever reason, and then restored to original working condition after undergoing an intensive inspection process by qualified technicians. Price Matters guarantees their products to be in working condition and to have been successfully tested for optimal performance. They do offer a seven day return policy for both in-store and online purchases.

I would say this is a good deal for a guaranteed working machine, even if it is used. You can’t do better on kijiji.

What a lovely little deal from Pricematters: spend $25 and get free shipping across Canada.

Pricematters always has some good deals. Pick up the Ju Ju Be Diaper bag for $39.99 (retail $84.99). Available in three different patterns.

If you want to locate your way around the world, pick up the Garmin Nuvi 1390 LMT GPS (expired) for $70.19. The same GPS is $139.99 at Amazon.

I am a big fan of Movado watches, and this Movado Museum Ladies Watch is just $200! Compare that to Amazon.ca’s price for the watch… $568.83. That is a huge price difference!

Pricematters Canada: Minimum 60% Off Swarovski Pendants

Pricematters Canada: Minimum 60% Off Swarovski Pendants

Pricematters Canada is offering at least 60% off retail price on all their Swarovski Pendants. If you love shiny little bobbles hanging from your neck, or are looking for a gift for someone who does: this is a pretty great sale!

As I said, they have a minimum of 60% off. Some are above that, like this Swarovski Mix Long Pendant for $65.99, retail $164.99. There are only 3 left of the pendant I just mentioned, so there are limited quantities.

The Swarovski Nation Pendant is an affordable $49.99, retail $124.99, and if you are on a tighter budget try the Swarovski Rhodium Pave Circle Pendant for $29.19, retail $72.99.

You can’t go wrong at those prices. Shipping is very reasonable, the pendant I checked out only cost $5 to ship.

Pricematters: Kenneth Cole New York No Slouch Too Leather Hobo $49.99 (Reg $129.99)

Pricematters Canada is offering the Kenneth Cole New York ‘No Slouch Too’ Leather Hobo for only $49.99, originally $129.99. Quantity is limited.

I check out some reviews on this bag, and they are overwhelmingly positive!

“… It is absolutely yummy! The leather is soft and I love the pebbled effect. It is roomy, yet not so large that it is clumsy. The inside has room for everything..I carry alot around with me, so if you are like I am, you will love it. I have had 4 compliments on it, and have only carried it for 3 days. Compare for yourself-you will not find a better bag for the money.”

On the few places I found it (all international websites) The bag was anywhere from $148 – $188! This seems to be last years, or maybe the year before’s design so difficult to find. However, this price is a steal.

Shipping will run you around $10.
