Best Prices On Your Personalized Gifts This Season

Best Prices On Your Personalized Gifts This Season

If you are anything like me, Christmas is a time to give gifts that are special. With our rushed schedules, many of us don’t have time to DIY or craft a gift for a loved on. Enter in specialized sites that allow us to personalize gifts so they are special and unique, but we don’t have to make them with our own bare hands. But, personalized gifts can get pricey, so I’ve compiled a list of the lowest prices for each individual gift!

This took me honestly hours of research to find what store had the best prices on each item, plus it has also cost me a few $$ as I bought my favourites! At least I got a few gifts crossed off the list. Its good to start these sort of gifts early, as it might take you a bit to design the gift and then get it shipped.

Calendars are a useful and thoughtful gift. I got one last year from my sister-in-law with all of our family’s photos, plus all the special dates already penciled in. That was not just super helpful, but I’d much rather look at the smiling face of the Websters than a milk recipe all month.

The best deal I found on calendars is this one from Picaboo. For only $9, you can create one custom 11×9 calendar. If you want to create more, you can for an additional, but well-discounted price. This is by far the best deal I found on calendars, with prices usually around $15-$20 or more.

While I’m not sure I would give a friend or family member a canvas because I don’t like to choose what others hang on their walls, this is a nice gift for someone close to you. For example, I know my husband would love a canvas with a photo of him and our boys or of a scenic photo from a recent trip we took.

Canvas prices are subjective because it all depends on the sizes you are looking for, but I found this very hot deal at Walmart Photo Centre. Get three 11×14″ canvases for only $95.97 with coupon 3CANVAS. This is a hot deal indeed, considering that size of canvas is usually at least $50 each. I’m picking one of these deals up for myself asap.

Of course, photobooks are a hot gift under the tree any year. I love giving and getting these. Generally, there are two sizes you’d want to give – large and small. These sizes vary depending on the store you get them from, and so do the features of the photobook, including the type of cover, pages and amount of pages.

For the larger photobook, I found the best deal is at Snapfish, who is selling their 12×12″ size photobook with a leather cover for $54.99, but you can use our exclusive coupon code to get another 30% off that price, making your final price $38.49, making it the best deal I could find. The runner-up might be Costco, where their 12×12 books sell for $39.99.

For the smaller photobook, I like the 11×8.5″ size (which is maybe more of a medium size) and the best deal I found was at Photobook Canada, where we have an exclusive deal with them for the price of $24.99 and free shipping. Most smaller books came in around the $35 mark for the 8×8″ size.

Other Photo Gifts

There is so much selection out there for photo gifts like blankets, puzzles, mugs, ornaments and more. I choose a select few and price compared these and I found Shutterfly, who is having a sale right now on photo gifts, had by far the best price of all the photo gift stores. Don’t forget that Shutterfly ships from the U.S., so you may incur duties, but I have ordered from them and have not had any duties charged. Most notably, the mouse pads at Shutterfly are only $5 and the 11oz mugs are only $9.89. I found both of these items for double the price at other stores.

Again, this is where Walmart wins with its regular price on a personalized photo ornament being only $12.97. You might want to take a look at the other stores though, because the selection is so varied when it comes to ornaments from plastic to ceramic to metal.

Picaboo (US) Coupon Code: Free Mini Photo Book ($20 Value) – Pay Shipping

Posted by on November 12, 2014 at 2:30 PM

Picaboo (US) Coupon Code: Free Mini Photo Book ($20 Value) Pay Shipping

Picaboo (US) has a sweet little coupon code out for a free Premium Mini Photo Book valued at $19.99. Get the book free, just pay $8.99 for shipping. Taxes are also not included.

Click here to start designing your mini photo book @ Picaboo (US) now

  • Coupon Code: WEMISSYOU
  • Discount: free premium mini photo book
  • Expiry: 1st January 2015

Yeah, I agree that shipping rate kind of sucks but it certainly beats buying the book and then paying shipping on top of it. In addition, you will be hard pressed to find a mini photo book for that price with shipping included.

So, what is so ‘premium’ about this mini book? Well, it actually has some cool features that I have not seen in other books. You have seamless lay pages for a nice appearance, but that is only where things start. This book is high quality. The pages are made of double-thick premium satin-finished paper and are both stain-proof and tear-proof for when your kid gets their hands on your photo book. The cover has a matte UV-coating to ensure your book is fade resistant and the cover features a beautiful wraparound design that is popular in many of the larger photo books.

You get a choice when making your book. Design a 5″ by 4″ book for a landscape layout or a 5″ by 5″ book for the perfectly square mini photo book. Whichever you choose, either is free with the above coupon code.

I did a little price comparing with other photo book companies to see what they are selling their mini books for these days.

  • $24 – Mini Square (6×6″) @ Photobook Canada
  • $15.99 – Layflat Booklet (4×6″) @ Snapfish Canada
  • $12.99 US – Small Square (7×7″) @ Blurb Canada

All of these were with the most basic of paper. When I upped the Blurb book to just a premium paper, the price jumped by $2. That ignores all those other features like double thick pages, UV-coating and such. It is quite hard to price compare products like these to other companies as I expect only Photobook Canada’s products have near the equivalent quality to Picaboo’s photo books.

For just the shipping fee, I think this is a good deal. There is a limit of one per customer. My suggestion is to make up a book of naughty pictures and stick it in your lover’s stocking. Now that will sure spice up their Christmas!

Picaboo: $25 For 4 Mini Photo Books

Posted by on November 4, 2014 at 3:00 PM

Picaboo: $25 For 4 Mini Photo Books

Picaboo has a new style of photobook out called the mini book. This mini book will normally sell for $19.99, but you can buy vouchers right now on their site for only $10 for one book, $15 for two books and $25 for four books.

These mini books are super cute and perfect as a pocket or purse-sized gift for Nana or Grandpa. Have a new babe who you want to show off to all your work colleagues? Take this little book with you and everyone will want to see your new spawn. I don’t like when people want to show me photos on their phone because then they either hold their phone and you can’t see it properly or you hold their phone, while they keep their hands right under it to make sure you don’t drop it or look at something you shouldn’t. So awkward. Get rid of this awkwardness with ease and without dropping a ton of money.

Even better, you can create a photobook for yourself of any size, then make a mini out of the book as a gift for someone else. This might even make the perfect stocking stuffer for your kids, and now I have to get this deal! My kids love seeing their photos in photobooks and I could put their year together in these little books and Santa can put them in their stocking. They don’t need any more dollar store toys in there!

There are two sizes of mini books – 5×4 landscape and 5×5 square. I like the square style, but it obviously isn’t great for normal formatted photos that are longer. Each book has 20 pages.

I’m going to get the four book option, one for each of my kids and one for my husband. What I really love is that I can buy this deal and I don’t have to rush to get a book created as the promotional value of the voucher doesn’t expire until February.

Shipping is $8.99 for one photo book and another $1 per additional book. All prices are in USD and Picaboo does ship from the U.S. With much experience ordering U.S.-based photobooks, I’ve never been charged duty, although this doesn’t mean you won’t.

Picaboo (US): $25 for $75 on Anything

Picaboo (US): $25 for $75 on Anything

Picaboo is a company that is familiar to you all as we have blogged about them for a while. Currently, they are offer a bit of a different deal from their usual fair. Purchase a $75 voucher redeemable on anything for only $25.

Honestly, I get pretty tired of photo book deals day after day. There are so many photo book companies and they seem to be undervaluing their product by having deals all the time. It gets to the point where I wonder when they are not having a deal and marvel at that instead of their next coupon or voucher. Admittedly, Picaboo sure has some great deals. My favourite is their unlimited pages offer that I have blogged before, which I hope to take advantage of if they have it in the future.

My second favourite deal would be this offer for $25 off $75 voucher applicable to any product (excludes yearbooks only). All the photo book deals I look at, day after day, are applicable to a specific product. Large photos wrap this or a medium embossed that… they make the decision of what you are buying for you. I find that somewhat annoying. It is what has resulted in my own photo book collection having four different sizes of books. The one I wanted was never on offer again!

Thus, this deal rocks because you are in the driver seat. You choose exactly the product you want and you save $50 right off the bat on it. Even better, buying this voucher is risk fee because the paid value never expires.

Here is the fine print you need to know for this deal.

  • There is a limit of one voucher per order – you cannot combine multiple vouchers.
  • Vouchers cannot be combined with other coupons, promotions, etc.
  • The promotional value of the voucher – $50.00 – expires on January 13, 2015

I also really appreciate the voucher nature of this deal. You can buy now and create later. Photo books are huge undertakings if you have any sort of OCD about photo layout and order like I do. The usual photo book deal like the unlimited pages just does not give enough time to make a quality photo book properly. With this deal, you get nearly three months to compose your book.

Tax and shipping are not included in the voucher price. All prices are in USD. Shipping prices vary so see their website for details. Duties may apply but so far, we have not heard of them hitting Canadians.

Picaboo Coupon Code (US): Unlimited Pages & Discounted Photo Books

Picaboo Coupon Code (US): Unlimited Pages & Discounted Photo Books

Picaboo (US) has brought back my favourite deal from them of all time. Use the following coupon code to get an 11″ x 9″ photo books for only $30 each (was $45). You can also purchase a 14″ x 11″ photo book for $40 (was $65). Both books also receive unlimited pages, which is up to a $150 savings!

Click here to purchase your photo book @ Picaboo.com now

  • Coupon Code: MOREPAGES
  • Discount: Up to $150 savings
  • Expiry: 15th September 2014

This coupon code excludes soft cover photo books, Lay-Flat Pages, Prestige Books, and Seamless Lay-Flat Books. The extra pages must be regular pages.

I previously did a savings analysis on both of these photo books. If you purchase this offer and use the maximum number of pages allowed in each book you will be saving $155 on the 11″ x 9″ photo book. On the 14″ x 11″ photo book, you will save $235 when you max out the page count.

I mentioned before that I am planning a huge photo book for my husband, thus I was really hoping this deal came around again. However, I am not quite prepared. I started to take apart his photo albums but discovered that our scanner is just too low quality for the job. I scanned one image and the colour was so different in the scan as opposed to the picture that even my husband, who is not detail oriented, noticed it. We will need either to get his photos professionally scanned in or find someone with a better quality scanner. The next time this deal comes around, I really hope to be ready, as I will certainly be maxing out the page count with the number of family pictures he has.

I think that is what this coupon is best at: historical family albums. I once had a cool idea that if I ever had a child, I would take a picture of him/her each day for his/her first year and compile them in an album just so I could see the changes that occur each day. A deal like this is perfect for that.

The only downside of this offer is that it expires in one week!

Shipping prices vary so see their website for details. Duties may apply but so far, we have not heard of them hitting Canadians.

Picaboo.com (U.S.): $20 For 15×10 Gallery Wrapped Canvas (Save $60)

Posted by on August 3, 2014 at 5:00 PM

Picaboo.com (U.S.): $20 For 15x10 Gallery Wrapped Canvas (Save $60)

Picaboo.com is back with 75% off a 15″ x 10″ canvas for your walls. Originally $79.99, you can buy the gallery wrapped canvas for only $20.

You are not purchasing the actual canvas itself, rather you are purchasing a voucher, which is even better. With a voucher, you have the option to redeem it now, if you already have a good picture in mind, or to redeem it later when you have had time to collect more summer memories and photos. The promotional value of the voucher ($60) expires on the 13th of November 2014. That is the day before my mother’s birthday! The paid value ($20) never expires.

This voucher can only be redeemed for the aforementioned gallery wrapped canvas. Taxes and shipping are not included in the voucher price. I checked on the price of shipping to Canada for a 15″ x 10″ canvas, and it costs $9.99 for the cheapest method. Still, you are getting the entire bundle including shipping for $30 USD.

I own five gallery wrapped canvas prints. Two are ones I made myself: one of flowers and the other is of my husband’s and my first dance at our wedding. The other three canvas prints are all from one of my favourite artists. I prefer canvas to framed prints for many reasons, with the primary reason being cost. It is so expensive to get prints framed, moreover if they are large prints or not standard sizes. However, canvas prints come ready to hang because of the built-in wooden frame. You don’t even need to hang them; they look perfectly fine leaning up against the back of a shelf or on top of a mantel. There also is no glass to break. Sure, canvas can be a bit fragile (keep knives and claws away), but all five of mine successfully made it through my move from Edmonton to Nanaimo without a scratch.

This voucher cannot be combined with any other offer and there is a limit of one voucher per order. As with all projects, make sure you do the following four steps before placing your photo order:

  • Check the safety zones for important bits cut out
  • Proofread your project for spelling and grammar mistakes
  • Use the preview mode, as what you see is what you get
  • Avoid using low resolution images

These four steps will help you get the beautiful gallery wrapped canvas print you want.

All prices are in USD.

Picaboo Coupon Code (U.S.): Discounted Books & Unlimited Pages

Posted by on July 29, 2014 at 9:30 PM

Picaboo Coupon Code (U.S.): Discounted Books & Unlimited Pages

Picaboo is now selling 11″ x 9″ photo books for only $30 each. That is a good deal by itself, but they have sweetened the offer by giving buyers unlimited pages in their books. You can also purchase a 14″ x 11″ photo book for $40 and also get unlimited pages.

Click here to purchase your photo book @ Picaboo.com now

  • Coupon Code: UNLIMITED
  • Discount: Up to $150 savings
  • Expiry: 4th August 2014

This coupon code excludes soft cover photo books, Lay-Flat Pages, Prestige Books, and Seamless Lay-Flat Books. The extra pages must be regular pages, nothing fancy.

How Much You Are Saving on the 11×9:

The 11 x 9″ photo book from Picaboo regularly costs $45, so you are saving $15 off the original book price. The real savings comes with the unlimited page count. An 11 x 9″ classic hardcover only comes with 20 pages. After that, pages are $1 each with a maximum of 160 pages. If we calculate that out, you can get $140 worth of pages for free with this coupon code. In total, you are saving $155.

How Much You Are Saving on the 14×11:

The 14″ x 11″ photo book retails for $65, so you will save $25 off the book’s regular retail price. Again, the real savings comes with the extra pages. For this size of book, extra pages cost $1.50 each. You can have a total of 160 pages per book (and the book comes with 20) so you are saving $210 if you max out your page count. Add on the book savings and in total you are saving $235.

This is sheer awesomeness and I only wish I had a big vacation planned that would do a book of this size justice. Just to give you reference, all my photo books have been over 60 pages with most of them hovering around the 90-page mark. The only reason the page count is so low, is that pages cost extra money and vouchers never cover that cost. If I had an unlimited page budget, I would max out my page count in a hurry. I am positively drooling over this voucher and considering re-doing one of my vacation books in a thicker book.

The only downside of this offer is that it expires in one week! That is not much time to put together an amazing photo book, but it can be done.

Shipping prices vary, see their website for details. Duties may apply, but so far we have not heard of them hitting Canadians.

If you are looking for more Picaboo coupons, you will find them posted up on the Bargainmoose coupon forum.

Picaboo Canada: $15 For $45 Worth Of Products

Posted by on July 7, 2014 at 8:00 AM

Picaboo Canada: $15 For $45 Worth Of Products

Picaboo has a fantastic deal on right now. Buy a voucher for $15 and get $45 worth of product. This means you’ll save $30 on whatever you buy.

While you can buy multiple vouchers and use these vouchers across multiple orders, you can’t use them with any other promotion. Even still, I think this might be the best deal currently available. For example, right now with promo code, you can get 25% off and free shipping. An 8″x6″ hardcover book is $19.99 and shipping is $8.99. With 25% off and free shipping, you’d save a total of $12.99. Using your voucher, you’d pay $15, order your photo book, pay for your shipping, spending $23.99, with $25 more left to spend on the voucher. Like I said above, you can use the voucher towards multiple purchases, so you don’t have to spend $45 in one go, which is great, though, to save on shipping, you might as well.

I think these vouchers make wonderful gifts and it’s too bad the school year is over because I would have loved to give these as teacher gifts. They are the amount I like to spend, but the teachers get much more than what I’ve spent. These could make good gifts for bridesmaids, shower guests or wedding guests too.

If you are so inclined, you could make some photobooks for your wedding, using multiple vouchers. I think that would be very cute. You don’t just have to get photo books, you can also get phone and tablet cases, canvas prints, calendars, cards, prints and more. I’m definitely going to get myself a couple vouchers to use in the next little while for prints and canvas prints. You just can’t use it on Yearbooks. Your promotional value expires on November 6th this year, but if you don’t use all your vouchers by then, you can still use the $15 amount you spent, which never expires. This means you have nothing to lose.

Picaboo Coupon: Save 30% or up to $30 on Fathers Day Gifts

In celebration of Father’s Day coming up, Picaboo has released a new coupon code that will save you on your orders.  Save up to $30 on Father’s Day gifts for one week only.

Click here to shop @ Picaboo.com now

  • Coupon Code: BIGDAD14
  • Discount: Up to 54% Off
  • Expiry: 26th May 2014

This coupon code will save you on a few different items and different values for each.  You pay just $30 for a 14×11 or 12×12 photo book instead of the regular $65.  The second choice it to pay just $50 for a 14×11 or 12×12 photo book with lay-flat pages. This type of book is normally priced at $65 as well.

In addition to those two books, you will get 30% off calendars, cards and home decor as well.   All of these saving would make you perfect deals for some great Father’s Day gifts.

Basically you will be saving anything from 30% off to 54% off the cost of your gifts. If you order with this coupon code, you will still have lots of time to get your items before Father’s Day.

Personally, I have ordered some photo books and calendars from Picaboo for gifts (and for myself) and I have always been very satisfied with the final products.  I have been asked time and time again to make more for friends and family because they loved them so much.

As for the cost of shipping, it will depend on what and how much you get. I have ordered many times in the past and the cost of shipping has always been very reasonable.

Picaboo Coupon: BOGO Free on Everything & 30% Off Cards

Picaboo Coupon: BOGO Free on Everything & 30% Off Cards

Picaboo has a great new coupon code out that they have never had before.  It will allow you to buy one item and get a second for free for anything site wide until this coming Monday.

Click here to shop @ Picaboo.com now

  • Coupon Code: 4MOM14
  • Discount:BOGO Free Everything
  • Expiry: 28th April 2014

You may be saying to yourself, “they have had BOGO coupons before?” and you would be correct; but they have never had one like this before.  Normally for their BOGO coupons, you will get the exact same item for free. For example, you can make a photo book or calendar and get the exact same one as a second one for free. This time is different.  You can buy any item and you will be able to mix and match what you would like for the second gift that is free.  This is actually pretty great especially if you are like me and need to buy a few different Mother’s Day gifts.

Just like any BOGO deal, you will get the item that is of lesser or equal value for your free item. The only thing that wont be available for the BOGO Free deal are the cards.  But don’t sweat it, they will be discounted 30% off with this coupon code as well.

I will be making a calendar for one of the sets of grandparents of my kids, and a photo book for the other set of grandparents.  Personalized items make awesome Mother’s Day and Father’s Day gifts.  For myself, I am going to show my husband this coupon and hint towards a beautiful canvas print of my boys. That way I can get a cavnvas print and then he can get me a second photo gift absolutely free!

As for the cost of shipping, it will depend on what and how much you get.  I have ordered from Picaboo many times and the cost of shipping was always very reasonable even when I ordered multiple items.

If you are looking for more Picaboo coupons, you will find them posted up on the Bargainmoose coupon forum.

There is another great deal from WagJag Canada that is perfect for a Mother’s Day gift. For a limited time only, you can save up to 74% on custom photo books from Picaboo with one of three vouchers.

There are three different options to choose from and they will range from 62% off up to 74% off.

  • $25 for an 8×8 premium seamless lay-flat photo book ($65 value)
  • $40 for a 12×12 premium seamless lay-flat photo book  ($110 value)
  • $12 for an 11×9 classic custom photo book ($45 value)

All of these options will include 20 pages, heavy-weight, acid-free, archival glossy paper, and customized covers.  Each voucher will expire on October 3oth 2014 so you will have plenty of time to use them.

The cost of shipping is not included with this voucher and that will depend on what you end up ordering from Picaboo.  Most of the orders will ship from Picaboo within 3 business days so this would also make a great last minute birthday, Mother’s Day or Father’s Day gift idea.

I have personally made a few different photo books for myself and family members from Picaboo (one of them being from a WagJag voucher last year) and they all turned out beautifully.  They were always done on time and very professional looking and received well from the grandparents.

They start at just $79.99 normally so the first coupon would drop the price to just $48 which is a pretty great deal! If I were to get two of them, it would be less than $100 for both gifts.

As always, you will get free shipping on every single order no matter how big or small.

There is a new coupon code out for Picaboo that will save you on your entire order. You will be able to save up to 40% on your entire order depending on how much you spend.

Click here to shop @ Picaboo.com now

  • Coupon Code: PS12XDR
  • Discount: Up to 30% off
  • Expiry: 3rd March 2014

This coupon will work on everything site wide. The way it will work is by rewarding you with a larger discount on larger purchases. Basically the more you spend, the more you will save on your orders.

Here is a breakdown of the savings:

  • 40% Off orders of $200 or more
  • 30% Off orders of $120 or more
  • 20% Off orders of $50 or more

I like these types of coupons because it doesn’t matter what you buy, you will still save on everything.

As always, you will get free shipping on every single order.

If you are looking for more Picaboo coupons, you will find them posted up on the Bargainmoose coupon forum.
