Photolab Canada: 97¢ 8×10″ Prints

Posted by on October 20, 2014 at 3:00 PM

Photolab Canada: 97¢ 8x10 Prints

Get 8″x10″ prints for just 97¢ each this week at Photolab Canada. Print out and frame wedding photos, graduation photos, and family photos that really should be on your wall instead of on your computer. A minimum of 10 prints per order is required to get this deal.

I did a little price comparing to see what 8×10″ photos go for at most places. Here is a small price comparison list for you to get an idea as to how much you are saving:

  • Photolab: $2.99 each
  • Henry’s: $4.99 each
  • Snapfish: $2.79 each
  • Walmart Photo: $4.97 each

While you must buy 10 prints to take advantage of the 97¢ print deal, you are saving a bundle on these prints. Even compared to the cheapest alternative option, you are at about 1/3rd the price of a regular print. To put it another way, you will get 10 prints for the price of just over three at regular price.

What the bullet list above fails to mention is shipping costs. While Snapfish Canada is usually the cheapest for 8×10″ prints, the shipping costs really offset that extra 20 cents you save per print. That is one of the reasons I just adore these Photolab deals, you can have the prints shipped to your local Loblaw, Fortinos, Superstore, Zehrs, etc. for free. Sure, you could pay for shipping, but that is an unnecessary expense when most cuties and medium sized towns have one of these grocery stores around.

I am tempted to have a couple more of my wedding photos made into 8×10″ photos. We only had one photo made into an 8×10”, gave them to relatives, and kept one for ourselves. I would not mind printing out a few more of those photos and making a collage of 8×10″ pictures on a wall.

I know my cousins always used to get a family photo taken every few years and then send it to my grandmother in the 8″ by 10″ format. My grandmother, who lived five hours away from my cousins, always appreciated the gesture. She has now passed on, but I will forever remember her shelf of family photos. While digital seems to be the way of the future, there is still room for printed photos on our lives and in the lives of those we love.

PhotoLab Canada: 50 4×6 Prints Just $5

Posted by on October 5, 2014 at 2:00 PM

PhotoLab Canada: 50 4x6 Prints Just $5

Prepare for the holidays early with pictures of the family. Get 50 4″x6″ prints for just $5 this week at Photolab Canada.

I did a little price comparing to see how good this deal really was. Here is what 50 4×6 pictures would cost you regularly at these fine companies:

  • Photolab: 19 cents each = $9.50
  • Henry’s: 26 cents each = $13
  • Snapfish: 15 cents each = $7.50
  • Walmart Photo: 19 cents each = $9.50

This deal from Photolab will save you several dollars over the cheapest price (which does not include Snapfish’s shipping costs). While you could pay for shipping from Photolab (who wants to do that), you are better off having the prints shipped to your local Loblaw, Fortinos, Superstore, Zehrs, etc. for free.

These days, what are photo prints good for? Primarily, they are for giving away to family and friends. Take a cute picture of your kid and send it to the relatives in their Christmas cards. Get a group photo of your immediate family and update the relatives on how everyone has grown. Photos are a still frame of life that people enjoy seeing and holding on to. It marks the passage of time and you can trace a person’s growth through their pictures. Send pictures of yourself to your friends and ask for pictures back so you can put them on your fridge.

With 50 prints costing just $5, you can load up 50 Christmas Cards with photos this year on the cheap. Now you just need a good deal on Christmas Cards and you will be all set, eh?

It appears that you do not need to have 50 of the same print. Rather, you can select 20 of one photo and 30 of another if that suits you. However, your bundle must total 50 4×6 prints in order to get this deal. You can also choose from different styles of picture. You have four choices:

  • glossy
  • glossy with border
  • matte
  • matte with border

I never did like the border on photos, as a great photo looks beautiful down to the very edges of the picture. There is no need to cut that off with a line of black or white. The card itself acts as a frame without adding a border to it.

I took advantage of the $2 mugs that Eva posted about quite a bit ago and gave it to my father for Father’s Day. I was pleasantly surprised by the print and photo quality.

Photolab Coupon Code: Buy 1 Photobook, Get 1 For 80% Off

Photolab Coupon Code: Buy 1 Photobook, Get 1 For 80% Off

Here’s an ideal offer if you need a couple of photobooks sometime soon. If you buy any regular priced photobook from Photolab.ca, you can use this coupon code to get another for 80% off!

Click here to use the Photolab coupon code online

  • Coupon Code: FALLBOGO
  • Discount: Buy 1 get 1 for 80% off
  • Expires: Unknown

NOTE: coupon code only applies to the base price of the book and does not apply to additional pages.

The last time I wrote about a deal similar to this, it was Buy 1 Get 1 For 50% off here, so we’ve gotten a slightly better offer this time. I’ve tested this coupon code in my shopping cart and you can see the results here:

Photolab Coupon Code: Buy 1 Photobook, Get 1 For 80% Off

As you can see, I’m buying one photo book for $46. The second book drops to only $9.20! Technically, this is working out at $27.60 per photobook.

In testing, I also noticed that the coupon code applies on ANY multiples of two. So, say you buy four photobooks, you’d be getting two of them at 80% discount, and so on. This deal is particularly handy if you want to make a larger order, perhaps making lots of gifts for friends and family members. For example last year, my sister ordered quite a few copies of a particular photobook which she’d made after her wedding, to go out to various family members. This type of offer would have been ideal, as it works out really well with the multiple book discount.

There are many different styles and sizes to choose from, I’ve just grabbed one example in the above screenshot so you can see what I mean. The coupon code should apply to all shapes and sizes.

Shipping!

If you want to get the photobooks shipped to your home, it’s only $5.99 which is very reasonable indeed. However, it’s free to ship your photo books to your local store and collect them there – that’s the best option for the budget conscious, as long as you have a store near you.

So, use this Photolab promo code to make some great savings when you are ordering your next set of photo books!

When we received the above email, the main theme was graduation, as illustrated in the image at the top of this page. It’s a nice idea to compile a photobook with graduation pics of the big day. I also think that’s a great gift to give doting grand-parents too, as a keepsake.

But you don’t just have to stick to graduation ideas just because it’s that time of year. These Photolab coupon codes can be used for any of your imaginative photo creations.

I’ve got one such creation on my to-do list right now. My daughter recently turned four years old and each year, I have made a small photobook of all my favourite photos of her, from the previous year. I’ve got three full photobooks to date and it’s time to start compiling the fourth. Each year, when I dig out the previous photobooks to see what I’ve chosen to put in them, it always brings back fond memories of the moments that have been captured in the pages. And it’s also amazing to see how much she’s changed in the space of only four years.

I plan on trying to do a photobook like this every year until she’s at least eighteen years old, but I am not sure if I’ll have the dedication to stick to the schedule. Also, with her little sister now being one year old, do I start making a series of photobooks for her too? I’m finding that I am taking a lot less photos of the second child… has the novelty just worn off? What do you think? Bargainmoosers who have multiple kids – do you take less and less photos of each child as the new ones come along?

Photolab Canada Promo Code: $2 Mugs & $0.10 Prints

Photolab Canada Promo Code: $2 Mugs & $0.10 Prints

I came across this fantastic deal from Photolab, that would also make a very inexpensive Father’s Day gift. Use the promo code to get a photo mug for only $2! Also, if you are in the mood, get some prints done too and you’ll get those for only $0.10 with the same code.

Click here to upload your photos @ Photolab.ca now

  • Coupon Code: 2MUG
  • Discount: $2 mugs and $0.10 prints
  • Expiry: 25th May 2014

This deal is only valid on the 11oz mugs, but you can choose wraparound style or two photos. The regular price for the mugs is $14, so this is an incredible deal. There is also a limit of only one per customer, but I suggest creating some different accounts if you really need more than one. Or, use your Mom’s or your wife’s account. The prints have a minimum print order of 100 prints to get the deal. This is also a fabulous deal as 4×6 prints are normally $0.19 each. This means you’ll save $1.90 per 100 prints, which can really add up if you have a lot of printing to do.

You can choose to get the items shipped to you for a cost, and Photo Lab is saying that this promotion might be so popular that shipping times will be increased, or you can pick up at your local store – Loblaw, Fortinos, Superstore, Zehrs, etc.

I regularly shop at Loblaw, so this deal is a definite must-do as a Father’s Day gift for my husband. New mugs are always appreciated as they get broken so often. Maybe he can make one for his Dad.

If the mug doesn’t suit you, there are plenty of other deals at Photo Lab that look quite juicy!

Photolab.ca $10 Soft Cover Photobooks

Posted by on November 29, 2011 at 5:00 PM

Photolab.ca $10 Soft Cover Photobooks

If you’re planning on getting creative with some of your digital photos this Christmas, there’s an offer on photobooks that you might want to take advantage of. The regular price for a 7×9 soft cover Photobook from Photolab.ca is $16, but they’re now reduced to only $10.

There are no shipping fees, as you can collect these at one of your local superstores, Real Canadian Superstore, Loblaws, and a few others – so you’ll only pay the $10 plus taxes.

I think photobooks are a fabulous Christmas gift because you can tailor each book for the recipient. For example, last year I gave a photobook to my fiancés mom – it was chock full of gorgeous pictures of our baby girl, then at aged 7 months. She adored the photobook, it takes pride of place on granny’s bookshelf, and she whips it out at every opportunity that she can get.

I have to tell you that I did a test photobook just now before I wrote up this deal, and I was not in love with the Photolab online photobook making software. It was a bit slow and not very user friendly, but then I probably have pretty high standards for this sort of thing! If you can manage to make it through the photobook creation process, then you’ve got yourself a good deal. Photolab.ca $10 Soft Cover Photobooks

    Photo Centre Deals

    Photo Centre Deals

Great time to order all of those holiday prints! I think I must have taken at least 100 pictures of the kids on Christmas Day alone! When your memory card is full, it’s time to get those prints ordered. The following retailers are offering great print prices and all have online ordering as well as in store kiosks.

    • Photolab.ca is offering $0.10 4×6 prints if you order 100 prints or more.  Available in store and online. Not valid for instant prints. Expires 13th Jan 2011.
    • Costco’s Photo Centre has online 4×6 prints priced at $0.15. You will also get 25 free 4×6 prints when you sign up for a Costco Photo Centre Account. For Costco members only.
    • Don’s Photo is giving 500 FREE prints with the purchase of any camera! Expires 31st Dec 2011.
    • Shopper’s Photo has $0.10 4×6 prints. 40% off all photo books and calendars. Expires 8th Jan 2011.

I’ve had good luck ordering from many different photo centres, from the grocery store photo centre to the photography stores recommended by professional photographers. Maybe I’m just not that picky, but I’ll take whatever is cheapest! I’m not one to take my memory card to the store and try to add and edit hundreds of pictures at a time either, so I need to be able to do it all from my computer.

These are some great deals on prints especially compared with prices for 4×6 prints at other retailers such as $0.39 at London Drugs and $0.19 at Wal-Mart’s Photo Centre. Have you spotted any other deals we could add to this list?

    (Thanks diser55)

Photolab.ca Buy 1 Get 1 Free Photo Calendars

Avid Bargainmooser Stephanie has emailed me another deal worth sharing. If you buy one photo calendar from Photolab.ca, you get a second one for free.

Calendar prices start at $16.99, depending on what type of calendar you want. The cheapest is the same image each month, or you pay more if you want each month to have different images.  The free calendar will be a duplicate of the first one that you order, so keep that in mind if you are thinking about gifting one or both of the calendars.

When you’re going through checkout, it doesn’t say anything about the free calendar in your cart, but this is advertised on their home page so it should be fine.

Ends 16th December 2010, excludes NHL calendars.
