Our cat Sadie needs some serious grooming, which so far I have done myself. There is nothing like bathing a cat and hearing the pitiful meows and scrambling to get out of the tub. Its so sad yet so funny.

I am tempted to send my hubby over there to price out cat litter. Cat litter can get very expensive, and the only kind I can really stand is the Maxx Scoop Small Spaces litter (pic above), which is very very expensive. But we have a 2 bedroom apartment and I don’t like smelling the litter when I come in, and between all the brands we have tried, this stuff is best. But my cat goes through it like crazy, she uses the litter box like 10 times a day… she will go through 14 kg of litter by herself in a month. O.o Is that normal?

As a cat owner, and supplier of her daily needs I know food, treats and supplies can be expensive, even for a 8 pound fur-ball.  :-) Oh ya, meet my 8 pound fur-ball Sadie! That is her picture above. She loves drinking from the toilet, doesn’t play with any toys… but loves playing with her food. She is very affectionate and sheds like crazy. She is an extremely picky eater too.

This email came to me this morning, titled “WOW! $20 Off Coupon!” Now, I’m used to seeing a lot of marketing spiel from such companies, but I will have to agree with Petcetera Canada on this one! I don’t have any pets, but some family members do, and I know they can be super-expensive to keep. Discounts like this are bound to help! This free coupon expires on the 15th of February, 2009!

I did once have a pet, it was a flea called Murray, but he wasn’t very expensive to upkeep. In fact, he didn’t really cost me anything. He came to my ownership from some hippy in a train, and stayed with me until that horrible accident which we won’t mention here. Sometimes, he used to whisper little orders in my ear which I felt obliged to carry out, such as “Don’t have a shower for 5 days” or the more common, “Rub some chocolate on your head.” He was a great friend, he was always with me when times were tough! I miss Murray!

As you may be aware, I’m signed up to the Petcetera Canada email list, as I wrote about in this previous blog post, “Tips for Getting Extra Discounts @ Petcetera Canada.” I got a pretty good coupon through in my email today. It’s valid for a $10 discount on Petcetra purchases of $25 or more.

These Petcetera discounts are only valid until the 18^th of January 2009, so time to stock up on those pet products!

There are a few quite good coupons on the go for Petcetera at the minute. I received both of these by email, so I’ll share them with you here, so you can save some cash on your pet products!

The first is a $10 discount coupon for a $25 spend in store @ your local branch of Petcetra. It will be valid until the 7^th of December 2008.

The second is a printable coupon for 20% discount, but it will only be valid on Sunday the 7^th of December 2008, from 6pm to 9pm in the evening. It’s a very good coupon, so they’ve decided to limit its usage.

Here’s a thought – why not make use of the discounts and buy yourself some of the pet products featured in the “Free Cat Food & Free Dog Food” post, then claim it back on mail-in rebates! Free pet stuff!
