I love the simplicity of these 14k white gold puffed teardrop earrings on for $62.29, down from $76.99 (reg. $109.99). What’s your favourite colour from the above selection? I’d have to go for the Sapphire, I love the deep blue finish to it. Did you know that sapphires come in millions of colours, they’re not one specific colour of gemstone? I saw a gemstone exhibition in a museum in Australia, and the colour range available was just fantastic.

We also went “fossicking” for sapphires there too. It’s where you buy a bucket full of wash, which is the sediment from the mines. You can pan for sapphires and emeralds, and can sometimes find small gemstones in there. I really enjoyed myself that day and we found quite a few precious stones, though they probably weren’t very valuable. A friend of ours was a lapidary, and he cut and polished the little stones. They’re ready to go into a ring setting, but they’re nothing like the sizes of the ones in the picture above!

A few days ago I posted about a Peoples Jewellers promotion which was offering a $15 discount on a $100 spend. I’ve noticed that it has just expired, but they’ve replaced it with a better promotion. It’s called their “save the tax” promotion, but it equates to a 10% discount on anything you buy.

The $15 off $100 made more sense if you were spending less than $150, but if your spend is more than $150, the 10% then works out to be a better deal for you.

Just for fun, I was trying to find the most expensive item on the site to see how much discount I could amass, and I found this 2.00 CT. Certified Diamond Solitaire Engagement Ring in 18K White Gold for a bargainlicious $13,999. The coupon code will save me $999.99. So it seems it’s not a true 10% discount, it has a limit of $999.99! Ahhhh if only I could actually afford that!

Something I’ve always wanted is one of those fancy kinetic watches that charges itself up when you move about. I’m not sure what you search for to fine one though… anyone know?
