The Source Canada: Nikon CoolPix P530 Only $299

The Source Canada: Nikon CoolPix P530 Only $299

The Source has a cool deal going on for the Nikon CoolPix P530. It is on sale for $317.99 with a regular price of $369.99, but if you add the coupon code TSP530, your price will go down to $299.99.

Of course I spent some time price comparing and researching and found this bundle from Costco for the camera, plus a few other items for $394.99. It is a good deal if you want the SD card and gadget bag, although you are essentially paying $94 for those two items, which doesn’t make any sense to me. Best Buy also has the camera on sale for $329.99, but The Source’s price still beats it. Vistek also has the CoolPix camera on sale, but for $375.99 and it is out of stock. As you can see, The Source has the best deal.

If you are looking for an inexpensive, DSLR camera with zooming capabilities, you’ve come to the right place. This camera has 42x optical zoom and 84x dynamic fine zoom. It has the vibration reduction technology that gives your photos a clear look, even if your hands are a little shaky. I get excited taking photos too! I recently bought myself a new Nikon camera, although it is a far more expensive one, as I need the option to change lenses. This one doesn’t let you do that, but if you don’t care to, I’m going to say this is a perfect camera for you. It has so many features you’ll need otherwise. I think the Nikon brand is solid and I’ve never been disappointed in what Nikon delivers.

What most cameras are coming with these days is the ability to shoot 1080p full HD video. I wish I knew that before I bought my handy cam, as there is such a thing as having too many electronic devices with you. When my son had a play at his school, I had with me: my DSLR, the telephoto lens, my handycam, plus my phone so I could take a photo or video and immediately update it on my Facebook page. How nice it would be to just carry one recording device and be done with it!

You can get free in-store pick-up or you can get it shipped to you for $4.99.

Henry’s Canada: Nikon D5100 Kit Only $600

Posted by on May 23, 2014 at 5:00 PM

Henrys Canada: Nikon D5100 Kit Only $600

If you are in the market for an all-in-one starter kit on a DSLR, Henry’s has a fantastic deal right now. Get the Nikon D5100 with two lenses for only $599.99, with a regular price of $929.93.

To put this deal in perspective, I found the camera with an average selling price of $500 – $520. The second DX VR 55-200 f/4-5.6G IF-ED lens sells for a minimum of $200 and up. This means if you bought these two items separately, even on sale, you’d spend a minimum of $700. So while it isn’t quite as high as the listed regular price of $929, you are still saving $100.

I have quite an aged Nikon camera, so I need a new one and have been waiting for a deal. I love having the 55-200 lens and love that it’s included in this deal. My 55-200 lens broke a while back; it wasn’t worth the repair cost and I feel lost without it. I used that lens quite a bit, with my children in sports, plays, etc. The regular lens just doesn’t cut it for close-up photos when you can’t get up close. When I enquired about buying a new lens, the sale associate actually suggested just spending a few hundred more dollars on a new camera as there are so many new features like vibration reduction. Also, mine can’t do HD movies like this one, which gets rid of the need for a video camera.

I’ve noticed an added bonus when you purchase this kit, which is a free tripod (worth $79.99) and free gadget bag (worth $54.99)! You need to add both to your cart along with the camera. That truly makes this quite the great deal.

Shipping is free when you spend $99 at Henry’s, so this camera kit will get to you for free.

Henry’s Canada: Save Up To $1000 On Nikon Lenses

Henrys Canada: Save Up To $1000 On Nikon Lenses

Henry’s is having a sale on Nikon lenses and you can enjoy some big savings – as much as $1000 on the pricier lenses.

I am in the market for a new Nikon DSLR, so I’ve been watching the sales. One item I can’t live without with my camera is a telephoto lens. With my boys in sports, a telephoto lens helps me capture that perfect shot – the determination on their face, the speed of their feet, the perfect kick. But, lenses can be mega expensive, so a sale is must-have before you put down your hard-earned money on an item that could be seen as frivolous or not necessary (although it is to me!).

I could save $100 on this Nikon AF-S DX 55-300MM VR 4.5-5.6G ED 2197. Did you get all that? Basically, this is a super telephoto lens, with vibration reduction and so much more. The reviewers give it a 4.8 out of 5, which is really good. It was $430.01, now $329.99.

If you are a professional and want the big guns, this Nikon AF-S 600MM 4.0 VR II ED 2173 is $1000 off! Regularly $10,800.08, you’ll pay just $9,799.99 instead.

If you spend over $99, and with this sale, you most likely will, you’ll get free shipping too.

Amazon Canada: Nikon 1 S1 With 2 Lens’ Only $600

Amazon Canada: Nikon 1 S1 With 2 Lens Only $600

Get awesome pictures without a big dSLR from Amazon and Nikon!

This deal is a bit weird. I think something went wrong on Amazon’s side, because it only shows that you are saving $3.25 on the pink camera and nothing on the Red and Khaki coloured ones. I figured something must be wrong, so I did some searching and found that this camera set is indeed cheaper at Amazon than any other place. Best Buy sells the camera and lens separately for around $675, so if you go by that price, you are saving $75 with Amazon’s $599.99 price tag.

The Nikon 1 S1 is a mirror-less camera, which basically means when you are looking through the viewfinder, (does anyone use that anymore?) you aren’t looking through the lens. It’s essentially, to bring it way down, a point and shoot camera with an interchangeable lens. It’s a cheaper alternative to a dSLR, but still a step up from the traditional pocket camera or your cellphone.

My wife wants a new camera for Christmas (yeah, I know it’s August. What!?), but I don’t think she wants a dSLR just because she doesn’t care to fiddle with settings. A mirror-less like the Nikon 1 S1 (which has gotten some pretty good reviews) might be just the right balance of enough features to keep me happy, and simple enough to keep her happy.

Amazon Canada: Buy Nikon dSLR Kit & Get $50 Off 2nd Lens

Amazon Canada: Buy Nikon dSLR Kit & Get $50 Off 2nd Lens

Amazon is bringing back this awesome deal so you can capture your summer memories! Get $50 off a lens when you get select Nikon dSLR kits!

Does this sale seem familiar to you? If you’ve been around Bargainmoose for a while, it probably does. Nikon and Amazon teamed up to bring you this exact same deal last April. As I said then, the cameras aren’t on sale per-se, but I’m including Amazon’s Was/Save/Now price regardless.

  • Nikon D3100 w/ 18mm – 55mm lens – Was $529.95 – Save $89.96 – Now $439.99
  • Nikon D5100 w/ 18mm – 55mm lens – Was $649.95 – Save $79.96 – Now $569.99
  • Nikon D7000 w/ 18mm – 105mm lens – Was $1299.95 – Save $149.96 – Now $1149.99

Last time this deal was active there were only three lenses available. They’ve added a fourth option this time. It’s cheaper, so if you don’t need the best, this is a good alternative. These prices are the list prices, so you will save $50 on top of them.

When you get to the deal there are two subsections: one for lenses and one for the cameras. Just mix and match the camera and lens you want and add them to the cart. The $50 will come off during the checkout process.

Do you use a dSLR? Point and shoot? Camera in your phone? Let me know in the comments below!

Black’s Canada: DSLR Sale – Save Up To $500

Posted by on July 6, 2013 at 8:30 PM

Blacks Canada: DSLR Sale Save Up To $500

Ready to upgrade from your point and shoot, or get a better dSLR? Check out what Black’s Canada has to offer!

There are sixteen cameras available in this sale and they range from the entry level Nikon D3100 w. AF-S DX 18-55 VR (was $529.99 – Save $130 – now $399.99) all the way up to the super high end Canon EOS 7D w. 15-85 MM IS (was $2199.99 – Save $500 – now $1699.99). The sale includes Sony, Canon and Nikon cameras, so if you already have a dSLR, you can likely still use your lenses. If you don’t have a dSLR, I suggest Nikon. Why? I dunno. I’ve always liked Nikon for no reason at all.

It’s great that dSLRs are coming down in price like they are. It used to be that only the professionals would even look at a dSLR because they were so expensive. Now, an entry level dSLR cost what a point and shoot used to a few years back. I bought my wife a point and shoot a few years ago and I’m pretty sure it was around the $350 mark. Nowadays if you’re looking for a bit more kick to your pictures, you can put down just a little bit more cash and get yourself a really good camera.

Of course, a better camera won’t make you a better photographer, but having the right gear can’t hurt!

Shipping depends on what you buy, and where it’s shipped to.

Do you use a dSLR or a point-and-shoot or just your phone? Let me know in the comments below.

Canada Computers: Save $100 On Nikon D3100 + Lens + Free Extra Battery! ($399)

Canada Computers: Save $100 On Nikon D3100 + Lens + Free Extra Battery! ($399)

Get $100 off this Nikon camera and lens plus a free battery worth $79.99 at Canada Computers.

The main deal here is the $100 you save off of the $499 original price. You only have to pay $399! On top of that you can get a free extra battery for your camera. The battery is normally $79.99. To get the free battery, just add the camera and then the battery to your cart. It’ll show yuu total savings of $179.99.

I don’t really know anything about cameras, but I’ve always like Nikon. Not sure why. Regardless, I looked at the reviews for this camera on Amazon and it has a bunch of 5-stars. The camera also comes with an AF-S 18-55mm VR Lens. The Nikon EN-EL14 Rechargeable Li-ion Battery is 1030 mAh and fits a whole bunch of cameras, so even if you have other Nikons, it could be a spare for that one as well.

Shipping is different depending on where you are.

What kind of camera do you use now? Is your phone enough, or do you lug around a DSLR? Maybe just a point and shoot or how about a micro 4/3? Let me know in the comments below.

Amazon Canada: $50 Off Select Nikon Lenses w/Purchase of DSLR Camera Bundles

Posted by on April 15, 2013 at 7:00 PM

Amazon Canada: $50 Off Select Nikon Lenses w/Purchase of DSLR Camera Bundles

Sure these bundles come with a lens, but you’re better than that, right? Right. That’s why Amazon Canada is giving you this awesome deal on another lens!

There are three camera bundles available. Please keep in mind that I don’t think these prices are specifically sale prices, they are just the regular sale prices. However, I included Was/Save/Now prices, just in case.

The lenses that you can pair up with the camera bundles are as follows. These are the prices before the $50 discount and, as with the above products, I’m including Amazon’s Was/Save/Now price.

The way this deal works is you choose one of the cameras by clicking the check box next to it then clicking the “add to cart” button. Then you switch over to the lens section and do the same thing. Amazon specifies that very clearly and I don’t know why. Maybe the deal won’t activate unless you use the page I linked to above. Whatever their reasoning, it’s a small thing to do to get this awesome deal. The $50 will come off at checkout and the products ship for free!

The Source Canada Coupon: Free Shipping on Cameras

Posted by on March 27, 2013 at 3:00 PM

The Source Canada Coupon: Free Shipping on Cameras

The Source Canada has a great sale on cameras right now. On top of that, they have a great coupon code offering free shipping on cameras.

Click here to shop @ The Source Canada

  • Coupon Code: CAM2631
  • Discount: Free Shipping on Cameras
  • Expiry: Unknown

There are some good deals on DSLR cameras by Canon and Nikon. Use the ID # listed below to find the products on The Source. Here are a couple of deals I though were decent – both Nikon:

  • #2546308 – NIKON D3100 14MP DIGITAL SLR CAMERA-BUNDLE – Originally $1029.98 | Now $639.98
  • #2516308 – NIKON D3100 14MP DIGITAL SLR CAMERA – Originally $699.99 | Now $449.99

The bundle includes an extra lens which I have found imperative… it is a 55 – 200 mm lens. The lens the basic passage comes with is only the 18 – 55mm. I think both lenses are necessary if you are getting into photography or just wanting to document your vacation in a meaningful way.

We will have all other Source Canada coupons posted up on the Bargainmoose coupon forum for easy shopping access.
