(Xbox 360) Tomb Raider Game of the Year for $20 & Free $5 Gift Card & Free Shipping @ Newegg.ca!

Posted by on June 14, 2014 at 9:30 AM

(Xbox 360) Tomb Raider Game of the Year for $20 & Free $5 Gift Card & Free Shipping @ Newegg.ca!

On the fairly newish video game section on Newegg Canada, you can pick up a copy of Tomb Raider Game of the Year for the Xbox 360 for only $19.99, as well as free Canadian shipping to your home. Here are all the details:

As well as the great price for the game above, Newegg.ca will also send you a free $5 Newegg gift card with your purchase. From what I can garner from their website, you can then use this $5 gift card towards any future Newegg purchase. The freebie acts just like a regular gift card, there don’t appear to be any restrictions or minimum purchase amounts. So buy this game now… play it for a bit… then use your $5 towards the next game. (Xbox 360) Tomb Raider Game of the Year for $20 & Free $5 Gift Card & Free Shipping @ Newegg.ca!

Let’s price compare! Square Enix’s Tomb Raider, the Game of the Year edition for the Xbox 360 is currently showing up for $30 @ Walmart (in-store), $30 @ EB Games (in-store), $30 @ Gameshack, $30 @ Best Buy, $30 @ Future Shop, $30 from Shop.ca (but OOS), $30 @ Archambault. It seems to be around that price level at most stores.

I did also find it at $20 from Amazon.ca, but shipping is an extra $1.99. Of course, we all know that you get free shipping on Amazon orders of $25 or more, so you’d have to spend a bit more to get the game itself for the same price. Plus, there’s the fact that you don’t get the extra free gift card too.

What about the game itself, I hear you ask. Is it any good? Well, reviewers on Amazon.com had people saying that it was one of the best Lara Croft games they’d ever played. This game got a score of 9.1/10 from IGN – sweet.

It’s been a while since I’ve played any games from this big-bosomed heroine! I think that the last time I played with her was probably on the PC, maybe 15 years ago. I know that the Tomb Raider games were always more popular on consoles, I don’t think the controls translated well to the PC. When I was running around getting used to the ease of movement with games like Quake and Half Life, it always felt a bit hobbled to have limited console-like movements with Lara Croft.

Ever played this edition of Tomb Raider? Any good?

New Egg Canada: Cuisinart Theatre Style Popcorn Maker Only $60

New Egg Canada: Cuisinart Theatre Style Popcorn Maker Only $60

New Egg has a totally fantastic deal on a Cuisinart theatre style popcorn maker, which is now only $59.99, with a regular price of $179.99. That’s a savings of $120!

Why You Need This

You just do. Ok, I need this! Perfect for any man cave, home theatre, basement or even for your kitchen, you no longer need to go to the movies when you have one of these for yourself. With 300 watts of power, you can make up to eight cups of popcorn in less than three minutes.

This machine is also somewhat portable and would be a huge hit at birthday parties, fun fairs and even camping. I was at a fun fair last night at my kid’s school and they sold popcorn from a machine just like this for $1 a bag. That is a huge markup considering what it costs to make, so this is a good investment for any school, preschool or non-profit that relies on fun events to make money. I don’t know many people who don’t like popcorn, except maybe those who can’t stand the kernels getting in your teeth, but those are the same people who don’t eat peanut butter because it sticks to the roof of their mouth. You just deal with the downsides of these delicious confections.

Price Comparisons

Other stores sell this unit for quite a bit more than it is sold here right now. Sears, for example, sells it for $129.99. Best Buy sells it for $119.99. Amazon sells it for $111.99. While none of them sell it for the Newegg regular price of $180, none come close to the sale price either. You are saving a minimum of $50 getting it at New Egg.

Shipping

It looks like this baby will ship to you for free, which is a sweet bonus on such a large item. I love free shipping!

Newegg Canada: Microsoft Keyboard Only $7 & Free Shipping

Posted by on June 10, 2014 at 1:30 PM

Newegg Canada: Microsoft Keyboard Only $7 & Free Shipping

Newegg is having a flash shell shocker sale on the Microsoft 200 keyboard, now only $6.99, regularly $19.99.

There isn’t too much to say about this keyboard except that I have the exact same one. The keys are functional, normal and black. It also has a USB port, Windows start button and 10-key pad. It is simply a very affordable keyboard for your computer.

My thoughts are that even if you don’t need a new keyboard, you get this one (or up to three if this is your pleasure), as it will make a great back-up keyboard when the one you have inevitably has a problem. I’ve had a number of keyboards and something usually goes wrong with them – drinks spilled on them, something sticky inside them, letters rub off, keys fall off, or in a fit of rage you chuck it when your internet keeps going down. Ok, the last one has never happened, but I have thought of it when I’m trying to get my work done and my internet shuts off and on repeatedly. I do not recommend keyboard abuse though.

I also love that there is free shipping on this item, since there is not much worse than having a really hot deal for under $10, but free shipping is only available over $100 or it is more than the cost of the item.

I’m going to assume this deal won’t last long, so pull out your credit card and get to buying this before they sell out or the price goes back to $20.

Newegg Promo Code: Free Shipping!

Posted by on May 16, 2014 at 4:00 PM

Newegg Promo Code: Free Shipping!

Here on Bargainmoose, there’s not much more that we really love to hear about than free shipping deals.  There have been quite a few lately, and here’s a free shipping coupon code to add to the tally – it’s from Newegg Canada, the computers and electronics retailer.

Click here to use the Newegg promo code online now

  • Coupon code: PAYPALCAFREE
  • Discount: Free shipping
  • Expires: 25th May 2014

I haven’t seen a really great Newegg coupon code like this in quite a while!

At the Newegg shopping cart, you must be signed in to see any promo codes, so sign in or create an account before you attempt to use the above Newegg promo code. Also, it’s a condition of use that you should pay with your Newegg shopping via Paypal too, as the code would seem to suggest.

There are so many items on site upon which you could use this promo code, so have a browse in case there is anything that you need. Let me show you some examples of items which I think are quite hot with the free shipping:

ASUS VS248H-P 24 Monitor was $189.99, now $169.99 with rebate & free shipping code. That’s actually a really super price on this Asus monitor. I price compared elsewhere and it’s much more expensive including shipping (these prices don’t yet include that aforementioned $20 rebate); $210 @ CanadaComputers, $231 @ Staples, $220 @ Futureshop, $230 @ NCIX, $239 @ MemoryExpress, $357 @ Amazon, $245 @ CDW.

Nikon COOLPIX S30 Pink 10.1 MP Camera (refurb) was $49.99 now $29.99 & free shipping. Because this camera is a refurb, we cannot really price compare elsewhere with justification (the silver model is $156 @ Amazon.ca). But if you’re looking for a little deal on a basic camera, perhaps as a gift for a young one, this could be ideal.

Toshiba 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive only $6.99 & free shipping. You can get 16Gb drives around this price elsewhere (say from $9 to $12), but the free shipping is really a deal sweetener.

Spotted any more good deals with free shipping? What will you buy?

New Egg Canada: Up To 50% Off Video Games

Posted by on May 12, 2014 at 12:00 PM

New Egg Canada: Up To 50% Off Video Games

Get up to 50% off video games for various systems at New Egg right now.

I see some really great deals at this sale if you are looking for some new vids to fill your days. The games will also ship for free, which is a nice little bonus. Some games also have promotions to go along with them like, which make the deal that much better.

Madden NFL 25 for Xbox One is $10 off and now only $49.99, but it also gets you a $20 promotional gift card with your purchase. Nice deal!

Call of Duty: Ghosts for Xbox One is 50% off and now only $29.99, was $59.99. It also comes with a promotional gift card, but this time it is for $10.

Skylanders Swap Force starter pack for Xbox One is a great deal at 50% off. Now only $39.99, and was $74.99, this is the cheapest I’ve seen it for any system.

While it seems I’ve only blogged about Xbox One games, like I said every system has games on sale. I know my kids would love the Angry Birds Star Wars game for WiiU. It is now only $29.99, was $44.99.

It looks like a few games have already sold out, so if you see a game you want and its a good deal, don’t think on it, just get it.

Beyond: Two Souls (PS3 Game) Only $29.99 & Free Shipping @ Newegg Canada Now

Beyond: Two Souls (PS3 Game) Only $29.99 & Free Shipping @ Newegg Canada Now

Guess what! Did you know that Newegg.ca sold video games? No? Well, now you do! And there are some good prices thereon… such as this deal on Beyond: Two Souls for the Playstation 3. Regular price on this game was $59.99, and you can get it for only $29.99 with free shipping at Newegg Canada right now.

I’ve done a price comparison on this title, and Newegg’s price is very competitive. For example, Beyond: Two Souls is $58.99 at Costco, $59.96 at Walmart, $59.99 at Futureshop, and $59.99 at EB Games. I did find it for only $28.99 via Videogamesplus on Amazon, but there was an extra $4.99 shipping fee, making a total of $33.98… with Newegg still having the best price by a good 12% lower than that.

I haven’t played this game myself, so I don’t know a lot about the gameplay. Have you played it? I’ve also been googling for reviews to see what the game is like. On Metacritic (which is a great aggregator for gaming reviews), Beyond: Two Souls gets a final score of 70/100 from nearly 100 different critics’ ratings. That’s a decent score. Users scored it higher, at 81%. Pretty good!

When I find a good deal on something like this, I often think about buying the game and putting it away as a birthday or Christmas present for one of my older nephews. They’re all PS3 addicts. Beyond: Two Souls (PS3 Game) Only $29.99 & Free Shipping @ Newegg Canada Now

New Egg Canada: Fagor Slow Juicer Only $99 (Was $199)

Posted by on April 10, 2014 at 6:00 PM

New Egg Canada: Fagor Slow Juicer Only $99 (Was $199)

Save 50% on the Fagor slow juicer from New Egg, now only $99, was $199.

Juicing is a great way to get healthy. It is fast, easy and can be affordable. The Fagor slow juicer has a two-step process, which extracts the most juice from your food. On top of this it uses less energy than most juicers, which reduces your carbon footprint in the process. Alternatively, you can squeeze the juice yourself to make it completely carbon-neutral, but good luck getting all that carrot juice out of your carrot!

I have a juicer and find it an easy way to sneak veggies into my kids. I buy organic fruits and veggies also, so I know they are getting the freshest and most quality juice, unlike that carton of Tropicana that has been sitting in a silo for up to a year (seriously, I read this somewhere).

My question here was what is the difference between a slow juicer and a regular juicer. The answer is that slow juicing has no oxidation or separation, which means it preserves the nutrients closer to the natural state.

I didn’t see any other Canadian stores selling this juicer, but in the States Walmart sells it for $159 on rollback and Home Depot sells it for $199. Both of these prices are in USD as well, so you can see the New Egg price is a good one.

Shipping is an additional $6.99.

Newegg Canada Pot Of Gold Deals: Up To 73% Off Select Electronics, Software, Parts, etc.

Posted by on March 14, 2014 at 8:30 PM

Newegg Canada Pot Of Gold Deals: Up To 73% Off Select Electronics, Software, Parts, etc.

As luck would have it, Newegg Canada in celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with their Pot of Gold deals filled with major discounts on plenty of items from categories like: desktops, laptops, televisions, digital cameras, computer parts, smartphones, and many more!

With tax season already in full swing, I bet some of you moosers have been looking for a good deal on tax software and Newegg’s 33% discount on Intuit Turbotax basis TY13 may be just what you need. Originally priced at $29.99, it’s currently on sale for just $19.99, which is a fantastic price considering it’s $39.99 on TurboTax‘s own website.

For those of you who specialize in computers or know someone who does, then the Rosewill 45-pc premium computer tool kit is also currently on sale for $16.99 (reg. $29.99). With a little over 1700 reviews, it has actually garnered a resounding consensus of 5 stars out of 5 with reviews like:

It included all the tools I needed for my new PC build. I never had dedicated tools for the task and this was it! I also was able to use some of the extra screws from the kit for my build.

There are plenty more products to choose from though, such as the Nikon COOLPIX p500 digital camera, on sale for $129.95 (reg. $229.95), and which features 36x optical zoom, 12.75 MP camera and full HD 1080 video recording. Although it’s refurbished, it’s still a major steal of a deal especially since on Amazon, this same camera (although non-refurbished) is currently priced as high as $527.92.

Plus, refurbished isn’t anything to be scared of. It simply means that a certain part may have been replaced within the item or the product may have been returned because of a dent in the original box. Either way, you can rest assured knowing that the product has been well tested and anyways, you really can’t go wrong at that price!

Shipping fees vary per product.

eBay Canada: Up to 50% Off Tech at Newegg Canada

eBay Canada: Up to 50% Off Tech at Newegg Canada

Newegg’s eBay store is offering up to 50% off tech currently. This is a sale that you might want to browse if you are in the market for a new laptop, headset, or other electronic device.

If you need a new computer you might want to consider this ASUS S400CA-SI30305S 14″ Ultrabook Black on sale from $599.99 down to $389.99 with free shipping. It is a manufacturer refurbished unit that comes with a 500GB 5400RPM hard drive + 24GB SSD Cache for plenty of space.

Newegg Canada is also selling this Patriot LX Series 64GB Class 10 Secure Digital Extended Capacity (SDXC) Flash Card for only $29.99 (originally $49.99) with $4.99 shipping. I found the same card from a secondary seller on Amazon for around $60 including shipping. The Class 10 will give you the speed you need for your DSLR cameras and 64GB gives you plenty of space for large file sizes.

Check out these and other deals during Newegg Canada’s sale on eBay Canada. Shipping depends on the product and ranges from free to a few dollars from what I saw.

NewEgg Canada Marketplace: Free Shipping on Watches, Clothing, Sunglasses & More

Posted by on February 19, 2014 at 5:30 PM

NewEgg Canada Marketplace: Free Shipping on Watches, Clothing, Sunglasses & More

Get free shipping on a bunch of great items from all sorts of vendors in NewEgg Canada’s Marketplace!

NewEgg Canada Marketplace is still sort of new so I’ll give you a quick heads up on what it is. Basically it lets vendors sell their wares on NewEgg Canada’s site. The vendor doesn’t have to set up their own eCommerce and fulfillment solution, NewEgg does it for them.

NewEgg is known for their electronics and computer gear but the Marketplace is for anything. You can sell watches, makeup, jewelry, clothes and yes, even electronics. If NewEgg isn’t normally a website you’d look at, NewEgg Marketplace might be. For the most part, the Marketplace doesn’t interest me personally. There is a bit of electronic/computer gear and some tools (I really need a new drill…) but it seems to mostly be fashion items named after people I don’t know. If Borsa Lea, Michael Kors, VOLO, A Julian or Yves Saint Laurent mean anything to you, you’re in the right place.

And of course we have free shipping on a bunch of stuff. Nothing stings quite like finding a great deal or the perfect item only to have a big shipping cost slapped on it. Keep in mind that this does not apply to all items in the Marketplace nor does it apply to the main NewEgg store.

NewEgg Canada: Save $60 on Kingston HyperX 240GB SSD (Just $180)

Posted by on February 13, 2014 at 9:30 PM

NewEgg Canada: Save $60 on Kingston HyperX 240GB SSD (Just $180)

Get yo’ speed on. HyperX. $179.99. NewEgg Canada.

An SSD means speed. You get it so stuff runs faster and it certainly works. Pop it in your computer and load your OS on it and you cut boot times down by a huge margin. Been playing a certain game a lot lately? Load it on the SSD and your load times are cut down. It’s also great if you manipulate big files like video or images.

And if you’re going to go with a flash memory based method of storage, you can’t do much better than Kingston. Kingston has been one of the leading names in RAM and other forms of flash memory for a long time and they’re continuing that reputation with their SSDs.

I work with a guy who has had some big problems with another brand SSD and when he saw this he decided to pick it up (assuming out bonus comes in) and finally put an end to the ridiculous issues he has been having with the other brand.

It was $239.99 but you’re saving $60 so you get it for $179.99. You can also choose 120GB and 480GB which are on sale as well. Shipping is $6.99.

NewEgg Canada Marketplace Now Open – Shop For Watches, Household Items, Automotive & Tons of Other Items

Posted by on February 7, 2014 at 10:30 PM

NewEgg Canada Marketplace Now Open Shop For Watches, Household Items, Automotive & Tons of Other Items

NewEgg Canada isn’t just for technology anymore! Check out the Marketplace!

Usually we write deals here. We’re a deals website after all. But from time to time a new store pops up that we want to tell you about. This time it isn’t a new store per se but rather a new service offered by a store we know and love: NewEgg Canada. NewEgg Canada has launched their Marketplace. It’s similar to Amazon’s Marketplace and let’s other retailers sell their wares on a platform you trust. Sure you can go to the “Big Jim’s Downstairs Medical Supply Shop” website. But wouldn’t you feel better getting Big Jim’s quality tinctures from NewEgg? Yeah, me too.

The best thing about this whole setup is that the Marketplace is curated. You don’t have to just wander around a website, NewEgg is going to curate pages for you. For example, right now you can shop for watches, jewelry, appliances, electronics and even a scooter on their Valentines Page. I’m not 100% sure but I’d have to assume they are going to have a Christmas page, summer page, Canada Day page, etc…

Like I mentioned, the best part about this is that it all processes through NewEgg Canada, a company we here at BargainMoose love on a disturbingly deep level. Shipping will vary like it does through NewEgg, payments go through your NewEgg account, it all just works.

Newegg Canada: 27% Off Krups & Heineken B100 BeerTender – Now $109

Posted by on February 4, 2014 at 10:00 PM

Newegg Canada: 27% Off Krups & Heineken B100 BeerTender Now $109

No, what you’re looking at above isn’t a Keurig. Though it may look like one, it’s actually a home beer draughting system and with Valentine’s Day right around the corner, this could definitely turn into the best present ever. Even better is that it’s currently 27% off at Newegg: now just $109.99 (reg. $149.99).

Though it only has 3 stars out of 5 on Newegg, it does, however, have an average of 4 stars out of 5 on Amazon.com with over 130 reviews. Plus, this nifty device is actually priced as high as $237.47 on Amazon.ca!

In fact, here’s what one reviewer had to say about it:

For beer drinkers, how can you go wrong with your own keg? The mini kegs are a little overpriced. So if you drink like a fish, it’s not for you. But if you want a fresh, cold, amazing drink after a long day at work, go ahead and spoil yourself. Just don’t forget to freeze some mugs!

Admittedly, the only drawback is perhaps the lack of selection when it comes to the beer you can use with this machine but if you or your hubby are a fan of any of the following, then I’m sure you will love this handy machine that will keep your beer at the perfect temperature: Heineken, Heineken Premium Light or Newcastle Brown Ale Draughtkeg.

Even with the $19.99 shipping fee that is automatically applied to this BeerTender, it’s still a better deal than anywhere else.

What do you think? Would you consider this for a Valentine’s Day gift?

Newegg Canada: Up To 28% Off LG & Toshiba TVs + Up To $100 Gift Card

Newegg Canada: Up To 28% Off LG & Toshiba TVs + Up To $100 Gift Card

Sure, you could walk or drive over to any electronics store right this second and browse for a new television but do you really want to risk the salesperson upselling you as they always do? Check out instead Newegg’s sale on LG and Toshiba televisions and you could save up to 28% and get up to $100 back via a gift card just by shopping from the comfort of your own home.

Newegg’s promotion includes reductions on the following 5 televisions:

First off, let’s clear up the fact that the word “refurbished” is not one to be scared of. It just means that a part within the given electronic may have been replaced by the manufacturer or quite simply, the box may have been dented during shipping, but the chances of you getting a lemon are really the same as buying a brand spanking new product.

When shopping for a new TV, the main factors I generally take into consideration are the price, size and of course, picture quality. In this case, though, the first choice boasts only 720p, while the others feature 1080p, the price is certainly the most appealing, but that’s only if you’re on the hunt for a relatively small TV – perhaps for the kitchen or a guest room. Otherwise, the last TV on the list, the Toshiba 47TL515UC may be worth considering, especially since it comes with 3D technology, 240HZ and built-in wireless networking. It’s only 13% off the original price but it does also come with a $100 gift card that you can then spend on anything else on Newegg’s site.

Shipping costs are different for each product, so be sure to check those before ordering.

NewEgg Canada: Toshiba 1TB USB 3.0 2.5″ External HDD For Only $50

NewEgg Canada: Toshiba 1TB USB 3.0 2.5 External HDD For Only $50

Get the fastest, smallest, cheapest external HDD around only from NewEgg Canada!

Okay, maybe it isn’t the fastest, smallest and cheapest around, but it uses a 2.5″ inch drive, which is the smallest common hard drive form factor. It is using USB 3.0 which is the fastest common connector around. Finally, at $49.99, well, you aren’t going to find a better price anywhere that I know of.

I know 1TB isn’t that much nowadays, but the USB 3.0 external drives are still pretty expensive, so getting a similar drive in 2TB bumps you up in to the $100+ range. Since it is only 1TB, I’d probably use this for active data. That is, data that I am going to be using in the future, such as a TV series or bunch of movies I plan to watch, a video I am editing, a picture I want to show to the family, etc… I likely wouldn’t keep my Christmas movies and college labs on it, because those aren’t files I am going to need in the near future. I can keep those on my slower, bigger external drives.

The drive is normally $30 more at $79.99. Shipping is $4.99. I don’t know that this is specifically a Boxing Week deal, but it’s great regardless.
