Costco Canada Freebie: Free 6-Month Netflix Subscription With Purchase Of LG LAP340 Bluetooth Sound Plate

Costco Canada Freebie: Free 6 Month Netflix Subscription With Purchase Of LG LAP340 Bluetooth Sound Plate

If you’re in the market for a sound plate, then Costco is currently offering an interesting freebie. With the purchase of an LG LAP340 multi-channel bluetooth sound plate, you will also receive a 6-month subscription to Netflix for free. It’s $299.99 and comes up to $303.49 with the mandatory $3.50 eco fee.

Although many make the argument that the American Netflix is better than the Canadian, I love the Canadian one nonetheless because it has certainly improved tenfold in the past couple of years. With shows like Orange is the New Black, Glee, and The Walking Dead and movies like Olympus Has Fallen, A Good Day To Die Hard and Star Trek: Into Darkness, there is definitely plenty to watch!

This sound plate is also pretty cool because if your TV is mounted on the wall, then you can easily connect it via bluetooth without having to figure out how to plug it. Otherwise, you can simply place the television on top of it. It also has 4.1 channel surround sound and can fit most TVs from 32″ to 55″.

Price comparing this sound plate, I actually found it at its cheapest at Visions for $298 but what makes this deal particularly worth it is the Netflix subscription. On its own, Netflix is $7.99 per month for 2 screens, which comes up to $47.94 for 6 months. According to the redemption instructions for this promotion, however, the total value of the 6-month is $53.94 and can be applied to a different plan such as the 4 screens one, which is $11.99 per month. Both plans also come with high definition.

Here’s what one reviewer had to say about it:

This is an attractive, sturdy unit that serves as the base for an 80 lb. television, and sounds better than my stock T.V. speakers. it has the added advantage of playing music from my laptop/phone/tablet/iPod touch through a blue tooth connection.

The fact that it can play music with other devices is definitely an added bonus and one that would be particularly useful when entertaining guests.

Alternatively, you can also get a LG webOS Smart TV and get a 1-year subscription to Netflix instead.

Surprisingly, I also found this sound plate for as high as $447.99 at NCIX and even $414.22 at Amazon.ca.

The great part about buying online with Costco is that you don’t have to worry about any additional charges as shipping is free.

US Access DNS Canada: Free 7 Day Trial + 1 Year Subscription for only $20 (Save $15)

US Access DNS Canada: Free 7 Day Trial + 1 Year Subscription for only $20 (Save $15)

**This deal has been changed since it was posted. US Access advised us that the deal we had here previously was about to run out so they gave us a BargainMoose exclusive link.

Access all the American content you want for only $20/year with US Access Canada!

I use a service similar to this one and I pay way more for. It changes with the exchange rate because it’s in USD but at today’s exchange rate, I’m paying over $70/year for the service. $70/year! Now, to be fair I’m paying monthly. If I was paying yearly it would be over $60/year. Still a far cry from US Access’ regular price of $34.97/year. To make the deal even sweeter, the link above will give you a one year subscription for only $20! You’re saving $14.97! Prices are in USD so it’ll be a bit more money because of the exchange rate but not much. I’m definitely signing up for this. I’m all for brand loyalty but for a 70% discount I’m willing to jump ship.

So what exactly do you do with a service like this? Well, you configure your computer, Playstation, xBox, Tablet, Phone or entire network to use the US Access DNS (Confused already? Hold on, we’ll get to that.) and start watching American content from Canada. What kind of content? American Netflix, Hulu, Pandora. How about the video on US TV channel websites? They even give you access to some UK services including BBC iPlayer and are adding more. Check out the full list here.

If you still aren’t sure, you can get a free 7 day trial and, if you don’t think it’s worth it, cancel before 7 days and never get charged.

Staples Canada: Apple TV Only $88 – Save $21

Staples Canada: Apple TV Only $88 Save $21

Watch the best content you love on your computer through your TV with this Apple TV from Staples!

The greatest thing in the world is Netflix. It’s awesome on its own, but what propels it to higher levels is that Netflix is everywhere. I usually watch it on my computer, but if I want I can watch it on any of my phones, my tablet or my TV. I happen to watch it on my TV with my Playstation, but if you don’t have a Playstation, how about an Apple TV?

And while you’re setting up your Netflix, why not watch some Vevo, Youtube, your iTunes content or stream stuff from your computer to your TV via AirPlay? You can do it all and way more with this pretty little hockey puck. You just plug it in to your TV and start watching. This is a great gift idea. I find that I have problems thinking of presents in this price range; Everything I get is hundreds and hundreds of dollars, or it’s $10. This is great for that mid-range. Do you have a kid coming back from college? Well, why not add binge-TV-watching to their binge drinking? A Netflix subscription and an AppleTV is a great way to facilitate that.

Since this is over $45, shipping is free! See our free shipping page for more companies that ship for free.

We’ve all been greeted by the notification saying that the content we are trying to access is not available in our region. If you’re not in the states (and if you’re on this site you probably aren’t) you’re missing out on some great content like Hulu, Netflix US and all the American TV stations like NBC, CBS, ABC, Fox and the cable channels. Sure, we have Canadian Netflix, CBC, CTV, Global and some others, but it just isn’t the same.

The site has a lot of really simple setup guides too, if you aren’t technologically inclined.

After your free trial is up, you only have to pay $4.99 a month. I use a service like Unblock Us, and many of my friends use Unblock Us. We all agree that it is worth every penny we spend on it!

Postmedia Canada: 4 Free Months Of Netflix With 1 Year Digital Subscription

Postmedia Canada: 4 Free Months Of Netflix With 1 Year Digital Subscription

Postmedia Canada owns a whole bunch of newspapers around the country. When you purchase a one year digital subscription for $99.50 (plus tax) to any of those newspapers, you will receive four months of free Netflix (value of $32) as a sweet little bonus.

This offer is available for all the newspapers owned by Postmedia which are:

Thanks to my husband, the news nut, for spotting this deal. I wonder if he was eyeing up a subscription for himself as well. We both like the idea of digital subscriptions, because it involves less trees being turned into throw-away papers, and less recycling to put out. Over a year ago, we switched his EW magazine subscription to digital and have been very happy with that.

On all the websites, it says the deal is this weekend only, so I expect it to end Sunday or Monday at the latest.

Dell Canada: $250 Off 42″ Sharp Aquos LED HDTV (Pay $550) + Free Shipping

Dell Canada: $250 Off 42 Sharp Aquos LED HDTV (Pay $550) + Free Shipping

It’s spring at Dell Canada and they have some great sales including this 42″ Sharp Aquos LED HDTV.

The TV is normally $799.99 but you save $250, which means you only pay $549.99! On top of that, shipping is free. Great deal!

I have a Sharp TV and I love it. It isn’t even an Aquos and I love it. This has all the stuff you’d expect from Sharp’s higher end line like an LED edge lit 1080p screen and all the appropriate connectors to hook up your game consoles, Blu-Ray players, sound systems and set top boxes.

But with this TV you kind of don’t need a set top box. It’s a Smart HDTV so it has a lot of the functionality of a set top box built in. It has apps like Netflix and CinemaNow so it really helps towards cord cutting if you’re trying to get away from insane monthly cable bills. It also has Wi-Fi, which I think is awesome. Not everyone has a wired house or a way to wire it easily. I have an unfinished basement so I can run cable wherever but if your basement is finished or you rent, it’s a real pain to run cables.

Netflix Canada: Get a Free 1 Month Trial

Netflix Canada: Get a Free 1 Month Trial

For those of you who aren’t aware (because I haven’t done a post about this since 2010), you can sign up to the unlimited streaming of films and TV episodes from Netflix Canada for a totally free one month trial.

Please note that in order to sign up to Netflix, you need to have your credit card details to hand. The first month is free, and you can cancel at any time. If you decide that you like the Netflix streaming service and want to continue to use it, the cost is $7.99 a month – I think that’s pretty reasonable.

Some devices that you can use with this free trial of Netflix:

Watch on your PS3, Wii, Xbox, PC, Mac, iPad, Apple TV, and more.

Believe it or not, I haven’t yet used the free Netflix trial myself. I’ve been putting it off for a while so I can make sure I’ve got some free time to watch some serious TV…. and that free time never seems to have materialised! Well, we’re planning on moving house next month, and I am going to sign up to Netflix after we move.

There is quite a bit of content on there that I want to see. Things that will be going on my watchlist:

  • Community
  • Dead Like Me
  • Roswell
  • Monk
  • Dollhouse
  • Mad men

It’s a shame that Netflix don’t do coupon codes to extend the free trial. I have asked them if they can do a special offer for the Bargainmoosers, but sadly I couldn’t secure a special deal. We’ll have to make do with the one month free trial!

Paypal: Sign-up and Watch 5 hours of Netflix to get $10 cash back from PayPal

Paypal: Sign up and Watch 5 hours of Netflix to get $10 cash back from PayPal

Paypal Canada has an interesting deal going on right now: If you sign up for Netflix through Paypal (use the link below) and watch 5 hours of Netflix within your first month, you will get $10 cash back from Paypal.

Please read the fine print I have attached below. The fine print is very important for these offers, and often the reason people miss out on their bonus is because they miss one little step.

To qualify for this Offer:

  • have a Canadian PayPal account in good standing
  • Click through the link to sign up for your new Netflix account and free trial period
  • be a new, first time Netflix subscriber, and
  • use PayPal as your Netflix payment method

Offer is limited to (1) one per PayPal account. You will receive $5 cash back (in CAD) when you start a Netflix free trial plus additional $5 (in CAD) cash back if you watch 5 hours of content via Netflix during the free trial period. Please allow 4-7 weeks after the Promotional Period for the cash back to be transferred to your PayPal account, so long as your PayPal account is in good standing.

That is pretty simple. You should see a Paypal bar when you click through to the offer.

Netflix Canada Free Trial!

Netflix Canada Free Trial!

*** Bump for new eyes ***

As we mentioned in a blog post about Netflix Canada a while ago, they are now live in Canada!! Plus you can get a one month FREE trial!

You can join Netflix Canada and get unlimited streaming of movies for only $7.99 per month, if you decide to continue on after your free trial.

I think it’s an excellent price for the monthly movies. Netflix is a really popular service in the US, so I am really glad they are starting to get into the market in the Great White North. They don’t do a postal service just yet, it’s just a streaming online service – but if you have a decent internet connection, then this could be handy for you. It’s great to have a one month free trial so you can see what the service is like.

You can browse their movies, if you want to see if you would like what they offer.

Bargainmooser Andrina has tried out Netflix Canada and here are a few comments  from her:

A 1 month free trial is great, it does require a credit card though. It’s $7.99 a month after that. They have a great selection, though some movies are not available like Star Trek, or Back to the Future.  They’re listed there but show as unavailable, maybe they’ll be available in the future.. The video quality is great! With my internet connection it’s super speedy, not very long at all to load videos (streamed video, don’t have to wait until the entire video is downloaded to view it).

Now, I haven’t tried it yet so I have no idea how good the service is – if you sign up, why not leave your opinion in the comments below?

Netflix Is Coming To Canada

Netflix Is Coming To Canada

Heads up Bargainmoosers! Netflix, the famous DVD rental service, will be coming to Canada in the fall!

You can check the above website, or even sign up to be notified by email when the service is due to start.

They will be offering an Internet subscription service that gives you movies and TV to your computer, or to your TV, for a monthly fee.

In my opinion, this is GREAT news for canucks. To date, there really hasn’t been a decent competitor to Zip.ca, so I am hoping that the 2 companies really compete against each other by offering excellent deals for the customers. I’ll keep you informed and I’ll be sure to let you know if there are any brilliant deals.
