The Source: Up to $25 Off Coby MP3 Players

The Source: Up to $25 Off Coby MP3 Players

Pick up a Coby Touchscreen MP3 player on sale at The Source Canada. Save $15 or $25 depending on which size you choose.

The Coby MP800 1.44″ touchscreen video MP3 player is on sale from $39.99 down to $24.99. This device has 4GB of integrated flash memory and is a compact MP3 player for people on the go.

The COBY MP823 2″ touchscreen video MP3 player was $59.99 and is now on sale for $34.99. It has 8GB of integrated flash memory for those with larger music collections.

The devices both feature:

  • Colour TFT LCD screen
  • Plays music, video, photos and text
  • Integrated FM radio
  • ID3 and LRC support for song and lyric information display
  • USB 2.0 hi-speed for fast file transfers
  • Integrated rechargeable battery

I price compared the bigger model with Future Shop Canada. They have it for $49.95, so The Source is significantly cheaper. Shipping is $4.99 but you can get it delivered to your local store for free.

I wrote about this sale because not everyone can afford an iPod and not everyone wants or even likes the iPod. This MP3 player is an affordable alternative that fits into almost any budget.

MusicNotes Freebie: Free Sheet Music Download

MusicNotes has been blogged before on Bargainmoose, with great deals on downloadable music sheets. However, did you know they offer free downloadable music sheets as well? If you aren’t looking for any particular music, why not try a free sheet of music? This is also a great way to grow or start a sheet music collection for the beginner or a teacher of a music class.

Each month, Music Notes offers a different freebie. This month the freebie is Down By The Bay, as originally recorded by Raffi. You can get the piano, vocal or chords music sheets for this tune. They also have other instruments and sheet music for Down By The Bay. This song is a fun one for little ones and you can customize your lyrics, too.

As well, there are a number of other free music sheets available for download on a regular basis. Right now, these include Lolita, Hello Ma Baby, Last Straw and more. They also have free blank sheet music paper for download and printing.

iTunes Canada: Greatest Hit Albums Only $6.99

iTunes Canada has a nice deal on greatest hit albums. These albums are on sale for only $6.99 each for this weekend only.

Select from these ten albums:

I have to go old-fashioned on this one: I am mostly interested in the greatest hits of Fleetwood Mac and Journey, both fabulous bands of their time. I have heard really good things about Radiohead though, and might check their greatest hits out as a good way to get introduced to a new-to-me band.

We are living in an awesome time. The internet is producing companies like Amazon’s Create Space and Kindle Direct Publishing so that you can publish and sell your books online and in stores. FreshBooks lets you do billing easily, quickly and on your own. AWS lets you spin up servers, storage and more on a whim. And SpinnUp lets you publish your music on your own.

SpinnUp lets you publish your music to all the major digital music distributors. Right now the stores they publish to are:

  • Spotify
  • iTunes
  • Google Play
  • Amazon
  • Rhapsody
  • WiMP

All you have to do is upload a high quality (WAV or FLAC) file of your song and SpinnUp does the rest. You get to keep the rights to your music, you get all the royalties, but they do all the hard work pushing the track out to all the stores. I know from doing the book publishing thing that it is infuriatingly difficult to get your book on all the major platforms. Amazon wants something different than Kobo who has a requirement that doesn’t work with iBooks whose Naziesque rules don’t make any sense at all. And this is just eBooks. I can’t imagine the foolishness you’d need to go through for music.

This coupon lets you publish one track for free!

Make sure you check out our SpinnUp Coupon codes for more deals!

July 11 Free Cymbal Set With Drum Purchase

Posted by on July 11, 2013 at 2:30 PM Free Cymbal Set With Drum Purchase

Get a free set of Zildjian cymbals with a CB percussion five-piece kit at

Looking to add some music to your life and want to make some big noise? Drums are the obvious choice. I’ve always had an affinity for drums, and of course, drummers. Unfortunately, I am so not musically inclined. I’m so bad that when I tried to play the drums in grade 8 music, I was banished to the bells. You know, the one you ding once or twice in an entire song. But, if you are a song murderer like me, get yourself these drums, learn a killer Van Halen song and prove them all wrong! This also makes a great gift for grandparents to give their grandkids.

The drum set is $299, was $364.99, with a suggested retail price of $599.95. The cymbals retail for $102.99, but have a suggested retail price of $210. Doing my own research, the cymbal price is around $100 at other stores and the drums sell for quite a bit more than the $299, so this is a wicked deal.

These drums are for the beginning drummer and comes in your choice of black, bronze, indigo, wine, platinum and steel. You’ll get a 22″ x 15″ bass, 12″ x 9″ deep and 13″ x 10″ deep toms with heavy duty mounts, 16″ x 16″ floor tom, and a 5-1/2″ x 14″ 6 lug matching wood snare.

Simply add the percussion set and the cymbals to your cart and the cymbals will show as no charge.

So far I have listened to two and a half of these songs while writing this post, and I have to say Summer Vibe by Walk Off the Earth is so far my favourite.

There are ten albums to choose from:

I am a big classic rock fan, so I am familiar with and a big fan of AC/DC, Queen, and the Eagles. I have to say that the last album from David Bowie (aka the one above) was a huge disappointment.

I can also highly recommend the Muse album above as I own it and love it.

My only other experience with the list above is the song Red Hands by Walk Off the Earth, which I own and enjoy as well. I will be considering picking up the rest of the album in this sale.

I didn’t know a site such as this existed, which is an amazing resource for the music-minded individual. Whether you play piano, guitar, wind, strings, voice or more, there are music sheets for your choice of instrument. Simply download and print your sheet music with the option to sync to your device or the Musicnotes Cloud web app.

My middle son will be starting music in the fall, because he seems very musically-inclined to me. He works the best one-on-one and loves to practice things over and over. I really can see music as a good tool to his future well-being. This site is affordable and I will definitely be using it when it comes to getting new music for him to play.

They have all the top new music, plus classics and favourites. One of the top downloads is Stay by Rihanna, and it costs $5.25 for a seven page download. Get another download and you’ll be paying less than $5 for both. Note that prices are in U.S. funds.

Remember the old days when break dancers would carry those huge boom boxes on their shoulders for impromptu dancing in the streets? There is still all that dancing in the streets (more even), but now the music players are lightweight, yet still offer awesome sounds.

The Steez system has everything you need to get dancing, including adjustable tempo, ability to set cue points, non-stop play mixes by genre and so much more I can’t even list it all. Dance battles are easy with auto battle mode, complete with a DJ voice prompt and countdown. The most important fact, is that the Steez fits in the palm of your hand.

iTunes Canada: The Voice Albums For $6.99

iTunes Canada: The Voice Albums For $6.99

iTunes Canada is having a special sale on albums from the TV show ‘The Voice’ coaches. Get albums from Shakira, Usher, Blake Shelton, and Adam Levine for only $6.99 each.

Click here to shop @ now

Here are the albums on sale:

You can also pick up some The Voice singles from the contestants they have had on previous seasons and current season four contestants. Most of the singles cost $1.29, so not as great a deal as when these full albums go on sale.

I have really not watched The Voice. I do love the blind voice auditioning though – I think that is brilliant. I love it because I think so much of success is not based on talent but rather good looks. I was recently reminded of that when watching So You Think You Can Dance. Mary kept on telling girls how beautiful they were and how they looked so much like ‘So You Think You Can Dance.’ All I was thinking was “who CARES if they look like the Virgin Mary or the Hunchback? It only matters if they can dance!” That is what I like about The Voice: the first thing they care about is talent.

Buytopia Canada: Clip Shuffle MP3 Player Only $5

Buytopia Canada: Clip Shuffle MP3 Player Only $5

Buytopia Canada has an amazing deal on a clip shuffle MP3 Player with earphones and USB cable for only $5, regularly $49.

I truly think this a really great deal, as I have an MP3 player like this and paid around the $50 mark. This is the perfect tool for the gym or running because it easily clips on to your clothing and is small enough, you barely notice it. I actually lost the USB cable for my player and we considered buying another player just to get the cable, but didn’t want to spend the $50. I am definitely taking advantage of this deal.

If you normally use your phone for your music and don’t need an MP3 player, think about getting your kids each one of these. You have your choice of eight different colours, so if you do buy more than one, everyone in the family can have their own colour.

The sound quality is great and the reviews back that up. It has a 100mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery (which means it lasts a long time) and a card slot that supports a micro SD/TF card up to 8GB, so it can hold a good amount of music.

You can buy unlimited vouchers and tax is already included.

Shipping is $6.99.

iTunes: Listen to Justin Timberlake The 20/20 Experience For Free

iTunes: Listen to Justin Timberlake The 20/20 Experience For Free

Right now iTunes is letting music lovers listen to the entire new album of Justin Timberlake entitled The 20/20 Experience.

I have toted the merits of this style of free listening before. I don’t agree with pirating music so this is one of the best ways for me to sample new music and sometimes new artists. I do have to say that Timberlake is not an artist I would generally listen to, however, the description for his new album intrigues me:

Justin Timberlake returns with a captivating mix of big band sounds, crooning vocals, and crawling bass hooks.

I like big band sounds and crooning vocals so I might actually give this album a try. I get to stream it for free, so why not?

This offer is only available for a limited time exclusively on iTunes on your computer or iPad.
