VolumeNote offers a free mp3 of a different song each day. They are totally free for you to download. You can even listen to the song before downloading it to see if you even like it. I will be adding this to my daily frequented sites for sure.
I downloaded today’s song to check it out, and it went into my iTunes and started playing fine. What it did not do is put the album name, artist name and song name in the right spots.. so I did that then imported the album artwork. It supplies all the info of artist, album, track name.. so it was easy to fix.
My conclusion is this is a fabulous website to broaden your musical horizons and listen to new sounds.
And hey, its free!

Grenade by Bruno Mars is a fantastic song that if you listen to the radio you have probably heard. Excellent messed up love song in a way. I have to say the songs were not my type, but then I am an old rock kinda girl and this is more alternative / pop music. However, Wasted Daylight had a sort of charm to it that was quaint and I enjoyed in my exhausted slightly incoherent Friday afternoon state.

iTunes just released their free song of the week: ‘Never Knew Me’ by D-Sisive. It is a Hip-Hop/Rap tune for any fans of that genre. As you might have guessed, you need iTunes to access and download this freebie.
According to iTunes it is certified ‘clean lyrics.’ Also, a note from Wiki on the artist:
D-Sisive is the stage name of Derek Christoff, a Canadian rapper, best known for his Juno Award-nominated EP The Book and his 2009 Polaris Music Prize-nominated album Let the Children Die. That year also saw the release of a free album online, Jonestown. His latest album, Vaudeville, is set to be released June 2010.
It is from this latest album Vaudeville that ‘Never Knew Me’ is from.

I’m usually not much of a Soul music type of person, but good music is good music after all.

I saw this downloadable freebie over on BoingBoing, a blog which I read every day. One of the authors there has a little project, in which they got 36 performers to record one song from The Clash’s Sandinista.
