September 7 Melissa & Doug Trunki $34 & Free Shipping

Posted by on September 7, 2014 at 3:00 PM Melissa & Doug Trunki $34 & Free Shipping

Melissa & Doug Trunkis for kids are super popular because children can ride on them and the look really cool. In the past, we have found some pretty great deals on them, but usually from websites with fairly high free shipping minimums or no free shipping at all. This time, you can buy a Trunki from for just $34 (originally $42.96) and get free shipping as the trunki costs over $25.

Only one trunki is on sale for this price: the beautiful Melissa & Doug Ruby Trunki, which is red with black polka dots. It rather resembles a big ladybug with horns (the handles where your child hangs on). This trunki measures 18.25″ x 8.63″ x 12″and is good for children three years and older. It comes with wheels for rolling along and makes it easier for your child to travel in large airports without getting tired out. The handles on the top of the luggage are convenient for parents needing to lift it in and out of vehicles and onto the conveyer belt.

Children can ride the trunki without any accessories needed, but if you want a little extra padding for your child, you can pick up the saddle as seen in one of the pictures above. It is not on sale (retails for $16.99) but is a cool little accessory that folds up into a shoulder bag for your child when not in use. It also can store stuff itself, so it increases your child’s storage capacity.

There are tons of positive reviews for these trunks all over the place including this one from a buyer:

What a GREAT invention! We purchased this for our 2 year old and it works better than I thought it would! It fit all three of our girls overnight items/clothes/toiletries/and even a few games with room to spare. The strap for the top half of the case keeps those items from shifting when it’s closed… and makes the case much more functional. It zooms around the house (and down the hotel hallway) with ease, and I have no doubts it will be great entertainment while at airports too! Even our 3 and 5 year old can ride on it as well!

Would totally recommend buy again! And with’s great prices and deals on shipping… this is the best site to pick it up from!

Purchase yours while supplies last.

Amazon Canada: 30% Off Melissa & Doug Art Supplies

Posted by on August 4, 2014 at 7:30 PM

Amazon Canada: 30% Off Melissa & Doug Art Supplies

If you are looking for back to school supplies or for some art supplies for your child, then you’ve come to the right place. I absolutely love Melissa and Doug art supplies and Amazon has them on for 30% off.

I can’t count the number of art items I have from the brand Melissa and Doug. I love the uniqueness of their sets and find everything really high quality. I find new art supplies is a great way to get kids excited about having to go back to school. I’m also looking for fun kits as things for my kids to do when they are camping or at the cottage. I like to have my quiet time reading while they have their quiet time making art.

Remember paint by number? How about the less messy sticker by number? Get the Melissa and Doug Peel and Press Sticker by Number flower garden fairy for only $7.36, with a regular price of $9.99.

While the sale says 30% off, some items are even more than that off the regular price. This Melissa and Doug portable light box is really cool, and looks perfect for using while on a road trip. It has a little portable desk, that fits perfectly in your child’s lap. It was $19.99, now $11.71.

If you are looking for something to do at a princess or other little girl party, you can’t beat paying only $3.99 for them to make this princess doll and take it home as a favour. It is an all-in-one kit, so you really just hand it to them and let them work their own magic. It has a regular price of $8.99, but paying the $4 price is perfect for 10 kids at a party.

My boys have done a Melissa and Doug paintable figurine and this dinosaur figurine kit is one they’d love to do. I like these because they are cute to display on a shelf after all their hard work is done. I don’t find ours ever looks like the picture on the box, but I love letting my kids be creative, messy and have fun when doing art, rather than be perfect. This item was $10.99, now only $6.39.

Shipping is free from Amazon once you’ve spent over $25 and since these items are all less than that, you’ll want to get a few to help save those costs. Twisting your rubber arm, aren’t I?

Melissa & Doug Scoop & Stack Ice Cream Only $22.49 @

Posted by on June 9, 2014 at 11:00 AM

Melissa & Doug Scoop & Stack Ice Cream Only $22.49 @ has a great deal on the Melissa & Doug Scoop & Stack ice cream set, which is now only $22.49, with a regular price of $29.99.

I actually have this set, although mine didn’t include the carton of ice cream. It is one of the most well-played with items in our toy bins. When friends come over to play, it is one of the first things they go for. Even my eight year old son who has had this toy since todllerhood, plays with this on occasion. It is just such a great, imaginative and fun toy. It also stands up well to all of the abuse it gets, which includes being thrown across the room, being licked, being chewed by the dog and more. The cones are made of wood and they are magnetic, along with the scoops of ice cream and the scoops. This means that the ice cream will stick to the cone (so you don’t have one of those “you dropped your ice cream” scenes like from the movie Delirious) and it will also stick to the scoop, making it easy for even the least dexterous hands to get the ice cream from the carton to the scoop and to the cone.

This week at, you’ll get 25% off all Melissa & Doug toys, not just this ice cream, so if this set didn’t interest you, there are lots of other Melissa and Doug toys to get you excited. Everything from puzzles, art supplies, outdoor toys and so much more. I really love Melissa & Doug and have so much of their stuff. Another of our favourites is the wooden shape sorting clock, which teaches time, colours, numbers, spatial awareness and more. Again, we’ve had this one for years, it has lasted and is a favourite with all three kids at different ages. It was $17.99, now $13.49.

I price compared Melissa & Doug at a bunch of other stores that sell it, and this sale really makes it the cheapest prices. On top of this, you’ll only have to spend $25 to get free shipping. If you are a new customer, you’ll also want to spend $40 and get another $10 off with this coupon code.

Beyond the Rack: Save Up To 70% On Melissa & Doug Toys

Beyond the Rack: Save Up To 70% On Melissa & Doug Toys

I am really excited because my absolute favorite kids toy brand is on sale right now over at Beyond the Rack Canada.  For just a few short days, you can save huge on Melissa & Doug toys.

There are so many reasons why I prefer Melissa & Doug products as opposed to other kids brands.  The quality cannot be beat, the bright colours, the durability, the “fun quotient” for kids, and I love that they are all educational.

With this sale, you will find items up to 70% off the regular prices, which is awesome.  All of this collection is wood-based, which makes the toys and learning items very durable.  I value this because I have two boys, aged three years old and two years old who love to play very rough with toys.  I can’t buy low-quality toys because they don’t last long in my house.

Here are a few of my kids favourites:

Not only am I a mom, but I was also a teacher for seven years, and I often used Melissa & Doug toys in my classroom as learning tools. I would suggest them to anyone with kids, or anyone teaching small children.

As for the cost of shipping, it will depend on how much you buy and where you are sending it to.

Beyond The Rack Canada: Melissa & Doug Blowout

Posted by on June 20, 2013 at 2:00 PM

Beyond The Rack Canada: Melissa & Doug Blowout

Beyond The Rack is having a Melissa and Doug blowout, with toys at least 50% off. I checked the prices on Mastermind Toys and these were definitely much better.

I love Melissa and Doug toys, because I feel simpler is much better when it comes to toys. Kids need to do more pretend play, while working on motor skills, in their own way, not some scheduled and forced way. I once bought my niece a simplistic ice cream cone set from Melissa and Doug and my brother asked “what does it do” and I said “it does nothing”. My niece of course loved it and did her own play with it. My kids also have that set and they play with it probably every single day.

Some of our other favourites:

Shipping depends on what you buy.

Beyond the Rack Canada: Trunki Just $29.99

Beyond the Rack Canada: Trunki Just $29.99

Beyond the Rack has an awesome spotlight deal happening right now.  You will be able to get a kids Trunki for just $29.99 when they are regularly priced at $50.

Trunki is made by the very popular and durable kids’ brand of Melissa & Doug.  They are one of my absolute favourite children’s brands out there.  They do tend to be a bit more expensive sometimes because their items are incredibly durable and are good quality, so finding a sale like this is awesome!

I did a price comparison and found the same Trunki at Mastermind Toys for $49.95 plus you would have to pay for the shipping. Over at Toys R Us, they don’t even carry them currently and at Chapters Canada they are priced between $39.95 to $44.95.

This deal also features a spotlight video if you are not familiar with this toy.  As for the cost of shipping, it will depend on how much you order.

Chapters Canada: Save 20% On Trunki From Melissa & Doug

Chapters Canada: Save 20% On Trunki From Melissa & Doug

There is a great deal happening at Chapters Canada for anyone with kids.  Save 20% on all Trunkis for a limited time only.

There are six different Trunkis to choose from and they normally start at $39.95.  After the 20% discount is applied, they will be starting at just $31.96.

If you are not familiar with Trunki, they are made by Melissa & Doug which is a fantastic brand, and are geared towards ages three to six years old.  I have a two year old, however, that loves the Trunki, so it is fine for someone younger than three years old in my mind.  It is a lightweight, sturdy, carry-on sized suitcase that serves as luggage, a riding toy, and transportation for kids on the go.  You can also use it inside for storage, so it is a multi-purpose toy that parents will like as well.

Chapters Canada offers free shipping for orders of $25 or more, so each Trunki you purchase will also get free shipping.

Beyond the Rack: Save up to 50% on Melissa & Doug Items

Posted by on May 21, 2012 at 11:30 AM

Beyond the Rack: Save up to 50% on Melissa & Doug Items

I was excited when I saw these deals at Beyond the rack because I have kids and love Melissa & Doug products.  Until 23rd May, save up to 50% on all Melissa & Doug items from Beyond the Rack.

I have 2 small boys that can be really rough on their toys.  Melissa & Doug toys can withstand rough playtime for sure and that is one of the many reasons I buy them.  They have many items to choose from for both boys and girls of many ages.

Here are a few of the highlights:

When I was a teacher, I had many of these toys in my classroom because they have so many different teaching opportunities.  I often used this bug-catching magnet puzzle to help with fine motor skills.  I also used this shape sorting clock to work on numbers, shapes and telling time.

When I buy toys for my kids I try to pick items that will be fun and at the same time they can learn from them. Sometimes toys that have both of these qualities can be pricey so sales like this are awesome to take advantage of.  This is a great time to pick up some items for upcoming birthdays and even buy ahead for Christmas.
