Sears Canada: wholeHome Festival Foam Mattress Was $1600 | Now $135 **Glitch??** (EXPIRED)

Here we go again with Sears having their mattresses on serious discount with the possibility of the order being cancelled, but also with the possibility of you getting a King size plush mattress for only $135, with a regular price of $1599.99. If the order does get cancelled, I’ve heard you’ll get Sears gift cards to compensate and that sounds pretty nice either way you look at it.

In January, Sears did the same thing and had king sized mattresses on sale for only $155. In February, they did it again. While a lot of people complained, many were able to score gift cards by complaining directly to Sears about how irritating it was that their orders were cancelled. Read the rest of this entry »

(Half Price) Spa Sensations 1.5″ Foam Mattress Toppers: Now $30/$35 & Free Shipping @ Best Buy Canada (EXPIRED)

(Half Price) Spa Sensations 1.5 Foam Mattress Toppers: Now $30/$35 & Free Shipping @ Best Buy Canada (EXPIRED)

Not every single blog post we write here on Bargainmoose can be as exciting as cheetah patterned mice or Walking Dead DVDs. Sometimes we have to write about deals that are a little bit more mundane, such as mattress toppers! There’s a pretty good deal on these Spa Sensations foam mattress toppers at Best Buy Canada just now – they’re both half price.

The double mattress topper was $59.99 and it’s now only $29.99. The queen mattress topper was $69.99 and it’s now down to only $34.99. And as these items are above the free shipping threshold, you will also get free Canadian shipping to your home when you buy either one.

Now, in my experience, these type of mattress toppers are not quite the same as getting a full memory foam mattress, they wouldn’t have quite the same comfort level. However, if you have an old mattress, or perhaps a mattress that isn’t incredibly comfortable, then this type of foam mattress topper can be great to throw on top. It’s a budget-friendly way to make that mattress a little more comfy, without breaking the bank and blowing hundreds of dollars on a new memory foam mattress.

I’ve had a look around the interwebs to try and price compare this item, but I cannot find this exact item for sale anywhere else online in Canada. However, in browsing around, I can see that it’s a good price in general. The next up price I found for similar items started at $65 here @ Walmart, and $70 here at Sears. I think that today’s price at Best Buy Canada is very competitive indeed.

Best Buy Canada: Sealy Baby Posturpedic Crib Mattress Was $170 | Now $100 & Free Shipping (EXPIRED)

Best Buy Canada: Sealy Baby Posturpedic Crib Mattress Was $170 | Now $100 & Free Shipping (EXPIRED)

Having a new baby or know someone who is? This deal from Best Buy is perfect for any new parent who needs this important staple for the nursery. Get the Sealy Baby posturpedic crib mattress from Best Buy, with a regular price of $169.99, now only $99.99 and free shipping.

I actually know a few people having a new baby. One friend is having her first, another her fifth. Either way, both need a new crib mattress for the new crib. I think this is a great deal and I’m going to stress the importance of getting a high quality mattress for baby. The first reason is that you want your baby to be comfortable. I bought a mattress once at Walmart super cheap and it showed. There was a spring sticking into my poor little man’s back, so we got him a new one. The second reason is that you want baby to sleep in his/her crib, so you want it to be as comfortable as possible. Sealy is a popular brand name in mattresses, so you know you are going to get quality.

This mattress has even won awards, which says a lot! It has a coil system that adapts to the movements of your baby with firm support. You want firm support, especially in the early months, as baby can’t really lift his/her head and you don’t want their face squished into the mattress. But, saying that, this mattress is also plush for comfort.

It is Greenguard certified, which means that it has low chemical emissions. New babies are like sponges from their environment, so this is a nice feature, but I’d also suggest setting up the mattress a few months in advance so it off-gases before baby sleeps there.

There are good reviews and one that seems like the reviewer got a defective mattress.

The previous week my daughter was waking up every day around 11 pm, crying. When we changed the mattress she woke up for a little bit the first night, but she stopped doing that. I don’t know if the mattress made any difference, I just know she needed something firm with more support.

I shopped around and found this is the best deal around. Snugglebugz sells this mattress for $190. Toys R Us sells it for $170.

Best Buy offers free shipping on $25, so this item will also come straight to your door without extra fees.

Best Buy Canada: 60% Off King Koil Foam Mattresses

Posted by on March 13, 2015 at 1:00 PM

Best Buy Canada: 60% Off King Koil Foam Mattresses

Best Buy Canada is offering 60% off single and double memory foam mattresses (6″). The single mattress was $299.99 and is now only $119.99. The double mattress was $399.99 and is now $159.99. Both mattresses qualify for free shipping.

We have had a deal or two on foam mattresses before. At the beginning of February, I had found a deal on LUCID foam mattresses on Therefore, I decided to compare the King Koil back against the current LUCID prices.

Currently, the LUCID 6″ single mattress costs $159.99 at Amazon Canada, so Best Buy Canada’s price on the King Koil is better by $40. The LUCID double mattress costs $189.99 at right now, so you are saving $30 for the same thickness of mattress.

I also price compared with Walmart Canada. While these are out of stock, Walmart Canada had the single mattress priced at $199 and the double mattress priced at $249.

I think the single mattress is the best deal, as I have never seen one for $120 before. These are great mattresses for kids. I have read many blog posts about parents buying single foam mattresses to complete bunk beds for their kids. They are the perfect size and thickness.

The Kink Koil mattresses provide a form level of support. People prefer foam as it conforms to your body. Thus, it reduced pressure points and helps keep the spinal column in a natural position. If you have ever woken up with a sore back, you know that your back is out of alignment as you sleep.

The mattress is both hypoallergenic and dust mite-resistant. It includes a removable and washable aloe very quilted cover. This cover will help you keep the mattress itself clean. Sometimes the sheets slip off my bed during particularly active nights, so a mattress cover helps keep a continual barrier between my skin and the mattress.

The first layer is made of 2″ high-density Theratouch memory foam. The second layer is made of 4″ high performance support foam. Together, you receive 6″ of support.

The mattress is rather heavy. You could pick it up in store, but free shipping is a very nice benefit when it comes to something this size and weight. This is a weekend deal only, so purchase your foam mattresses over the next few days.

Sears Canada: Beautyrest Halifax Tight-Top Sleeper Now Only $150 (Expired)

Sears Canada: Beautyrest Halifax Tight Top Sleeper Now Only $150 (Expired)

A while ago, I posted a fantastic deal on mattresses at Sears. Unfortunately, there was something wrong with their system and these were all price errors and Sears cancelled all the orders. This infuriated me, but I’ve since learned that for your trouble, if you complain, you’ll be rewarded with a gift card. While that isn’t the best consolation for not getting an amazing deal on a mattress, it could make it worth your while to try for this mattress deal and if it is cancelled, ask for your free gift card for your trouble. Today’s deal at Sears may or may not be a price error, so if you are in the market for a new mattress, they have the Simmons Beautyrest Halifax tight-top sleeper in king or queen on for only $150.

This mattress is a firm support mattress with two quilted layers and two comfort layers. Basically, it looks like a good mattress from a quality name in mattresses – Simmons.

The shipping to your home is going to be about $70, so factor in this cost, which is standard for this sort of large purchase.

If you like Serta, I also found a similar deal, although only on the double or twin size. The double plush of the Serta Slumber Keele foam pillow-top sleep set is $300 but the firm sells for $1559.99. The twin firm is $150 with the plush selling for $1999.99. I find it interesting that the regular price of the twin is more than the double, telling me that the regular price is also an error. Either way, this is a good deal on this size of mattress, regardless of regular price.

If you don’t want to gamble on price errors and just want a fantastic price on a mattress, there are plenty on clearance at good prices. This Sealy Malta II tight top sleep set starts at $359 for the set in twin in double up to $679.95 for the king.

February 4 LUCID 6″ Memory Foam Mattress Was $480 | Now $200

Posted by on February 4, 2015 at 12:30 PM LUCID 6 Memory Foam Mattress Was $480 | Now $200

Are you in the market for a new mattress? Amazon Canada has the LUCID 6 Inch Memory Foam Mattress in Queen size on sale from $479.99 down to $199.99 with free shipping.

The Lucid 6″ memory foam mattress is dual-layered with a firm feel. The mattress alleviates pressure points and, moreover, provides foam support for a low cost. Memory foam mattresses are not cheap, and the original price of this mattress is a more accurate representation of the usual cost you can expect to pay.

I price compared this mattress with the original manufacturer’s website. They are having a Valentine’s Day sale right now, so a queen size 6″ memory foam mattress costs $187.90 US on their website (after coupon). That is equal to $235.73 Canadian. Purchasing through Amazon, you will also receive free shipping and avoid duties.

Now, if you want another size, they are also on sale. Here is the price tier:

  • Twin: Was $429.99 | Now $169.99
  • Twin XL: Was $439.99 | Now $169.99
  • Full: Was $459.99 | Now $159.99

The full size foam mattress is the best deal at 67% off. However, I do not know a lot of people who own full beds anymore, so I decided to focus on the queen size (everyone I know owns a queen bed).

To give a better perspective, I compared prices with other 6″ memory foam mattresses as well. I found a 6″ King Koil Double Memory Foam Mattress at Future Shop for $374.99. The twin size was $299.99. As you can see, the Lucid memory foam mattresses are a lot cheaper.

This mattress has 2″ of comfort layer of premium memory foam and 4″ of high-density supportive base foam. The manufacturer’s website says that these mattresses are perfect for children and for bunk beds. While they may not be that deep (6″ isn’t much), a child is small enough they will not sink all the way through. I think the firm factor will also help give older sleepers support as well, as many adults are pleased with the Lucid Mattress:

I liked mine so much I bought another for another family member. The convenient mail delivery was great. No harsh smells whatsoever. The six inch mattress on both are actually 6 and a quarter inches so it’s great. I have never had a more comfortable mattress I highly recommend this mattress at any price.

I encourage you to read through additional reviews as they are quite informative. Most people absolutely love this mattress, find it super comfortable, and well worth the price.

*Hot* Sears Canada: King Sleep Set Only $155! (EXPIRED)

Sears must be selling out their mattresses because they some smoking hot deals on right now! You can get a king-sized sleep set for only $155, and there are tons of other deals with prices that low on queen and double sizes as well.

These sleep sets are going to go fast, as I see at least one of them is sold out already. The prices are phenomenal and I’m already considering getting a new mattress for myself and my oldest son. I think many are on back-order though, so you won’t get them for a while, but if you weren’t planning on buying a mattress today, you probably don’t mind considering your cost-savings.

I’m hoping this isn’t a price error and that orders won’t be cancelled, but here’s trying! On top of this, use the coupons for $20 off $100 and $50 off $200 to get even more of a discount.

Sealy Vanita firm support tight top sleep set – the king is only $175, but the queen sells for $1399.99. Use the coupon to get it for $155.

Simmons Backcare Salma tight-top sleep set – get the double for $130 with coupon and the queen for $150 with coupon.

Sears-O-Pedic MD patton euro-top plush sleep set - get the queen for $155 with coupon

Sears-O-Pedic MD patton euro-top firm sleep set – get the king for $350 with coupon, while the queen sells for $1799.99

Kingsdown Munroe pocket coil firm support euro top mix and match sleep set - get the king for $350 with coupon while all other sizes sell for up to $2399.99

Sears-O-Pedic MD Safiya euro-top sleep set – get the queen firm for $350 with coupon while the plush and the king sells for $3599.99

Sears-O-Pedic MD Bellanie independent coil sleep set – get the queen plush for $150 with coupon code or get the firm double for $300 and the queen firm for $350 with coupon while the rest sell starting from $999.99

There are quite a few more, so have a look at the type of mattress you like and play around with the sizes and comfort levels. For me, I need a king-size plush mattress, so I’ll just look at those and get the best deal! I paid about $2000 for my last sleep set, so I am stoked about this deal!

Shipping will depend on if you ship to home or ship to store.

Costco Canada: $250 Off Sealy Posturepedic Diaz Queen Mattress Set – Now $550 (+ Free Shipping!)

Posted by on November 29, 2014 at 9:00 PM

Costco Canada: $250 Off Sealy Posturepedic Diaz Queen Mattress Set Now $550 (+ Free Shipping!)

Black Friday got you worn out? Catch some much needed z’s on a brand new mattress! The Sealy Posturepedic Diaz queen mattress set is $250 off at Costco. You can get it for just $549.99 instead of its original price of $799.99. Shipping is also absolutely free! This set comes with both the mattress and the box spring.

Normally, I wouldn’t blog about a mattress that can be bought online because it can be difficult to know if you will be happy with it once it arrives but in this case, I couldn’t pass up mentioning this steal of a deal to you Moosers.

For any of you looking for a great deal on a mattress, the Diaz mattress is definitely worth buying. Available in a queen size, it features:

  • 700 coils
  • 1″ Proback stabilizer pad
  • 0.5″ Proback CoreSupport Center with PostureGel memory foam
  • Comfortable quilted layers

According to the description, the coils on this mattress also offer 20% more support than other mattresses as they are reinforced with titanium alloy.

This mattress is a memory foam one but it’s nonetheless of the firm variety, which is the recommendation. Firm mattresses are recommended because they provide better body alignment. If you currently sleep on a soft mattress and experience constant fatigue, headaches and plenty of other unpleasant symptons, it might be worth switching mattresses to a firm one to see if matters improve. If they don’t, do make sure to consult with a doctor of course! Costco Canada: $250 Off Sealy Posturepedic Diaz Queen Mattress Set Now $550 (+ Free Shipping!)

Looking around, I couldn’t find this exact model of mattress anywhere else. However, I did find the Sealy Posturepedic Aperitivo Eurotep sleep set on sale right now until the end of the Black Friday week-end for $699.99 (reg. $1,399.99) and the description is exactly the same as that of the Diaz one. Both have the same number of coils, same Proback stabilizer pad, same quilting, etc.

As I already mentioned shipping is free, but keep in mind that if when your mattress arrives, you don’t like it for whatever reason, you will need to find a way to transport it back to your nearest Costco store. However, I don’t see why you wouldn’t like it, so no worries there!

Sears Canada: As Low As $209 For a Sleep Set Today Only (EXPIRED)

Posted by on November 14, 2014 at 1:00 PM

Sears Canada: As Low As $209 For a Sleep Set Today Only (EXPIRED)

If you need a new bed for upcoming holiday guests, Sears has a one day sale on the Durie Eurotop Continuous Coil sleep set in queen size. The sale is on for today only. It is 75% off the regular price making the mattress set $299. There is also an extra coupon for $15 off purchases of $150 or more when you enter the coupon code.

If you regularly have guests over for the holidays and you are looking for a something a bit more comfortable than that usual pullout bed, Sears has a great deal on plush beds of all sizes. The other sizes other than queen are on sale for 75% off the normal price too. The twin is on for $209.99, the double for $259.99, the queen for $284.99 and the king for $484.99 – the regular price of the king size bed is $1999.99!

There are two options for the mattress – plush and firm, so if you have a strong preference for one or the other you are covered.  It comes with a 10 year pro-rated warranty so hopefully it is going to last. We have a day bed style guest bed from Ikea, which has just basic memory foam with no springs, so this would be a major upgrade for the guest room with a low Ikea-type price tag. It also comes with a quilted layer of foam on the top, so you don’t even need an extra foam topper under your sheets.

There are a lot of suggestions on how often you should replace your mattress with the average being around every 7-10 years. Given the warranty, this bed should last you the duration of the normal use of a mattress. The mattresses collect dust and the springs wear down, which can seriously affect your quality of sleep. When an opportunity like this one comes up it is a good time to change your old one as mattress sets can be pretty pricey. Even on sale usually quality mattresses can be well over $600.

People have been telling me that I should spend as much as I can afford to get a good quality mattress, but with this savings of 75% you don’t have to break the bank to get a good night sleep.

Shipping is around $70 per mattress, unless you want to pick it up in-store.

Best Buy Canada: 40% Off Vivon Matresses

Posted by on July 16, 2014 at 9:30 PM

Best Buy Canada: 40% Off Vivon Matresses

Best Buy Canada is offering 40% off Vivon hybrid mattresses made of gel and memory foam.

I want to get a double bed instead of the current queen bed that we have. A queen bed just takes up so much space that I would rather have for other things. This Vivon Drom Double Firm Gel Memory Foam Mattress would be a perfect replacement for our current mattress with a good solid base under it. It is eight inches thick with two of those inches being a Restech Gel-Infused Memory Foam Layer For a bed cooler surface. These foam mattresses naturally control odor as they are infused with green tea and charcoal. Originally $649.99, the mattress is on sale for $389.99.

There is a more deluxe model of mattress as well. The Vivon Hana Double/Full size Medium Firm Gel Memory Foam Hybrid Mattress has an 7.5″ spring unit enclosed in foam with the gel infused layer on top. iCoil technology uses 513 individually wrapped pocket coils for added support while you sleep. You get the best of both worlds with this hybrid: the support of a spring mattress, the comfort of a foam mattress, and the cooling potential of gel. Originally $999.99, it is now on sale for $599.99.

Both these mattresses are available in king and queen size models as well. The Drom is also available in a single bed style. Thicknesses increase as the mattresses get larger as well. For example, the double Drom is eight inches thick with a two inch gel-infused layer whereas the king sized mattress of the same style is ten inches thick with three of those inches being gel-infused memory foam.

I usually sleep on a spring style mattress because that is what we own; however, I really love foam. There is an eight-inch memory foam topper on the bed out at my parents where I sleep when I visit. While the room is in the basement and you have to screw in and unscrew the light bulb to get any light, the bed is so incredibly comfortable. I toss and turn far less when I sleep on memory foam as opposed to a regular mattress. However, these observations are over short-term stays. I am not sure how I would find it after a few years.

I thought these might incur shipping charges, but it was showing up as free shipping because the mattress is over $20 when I stuck the king sized mattress in my cart.

Amazon Canada: Lucid Linen Spa Memory Foam Mattress Only $199

Posted by on July 4, 2014 at 11:00 AM

Amazon Canada: Lucid Linen Spa Memory Foam Mattress Only $199

If you are in the market for a new mattress, Amazon has quite a good deal. Get the Lucid Linen Spa memory foam mattress for as low as only $199.99 with a regular price of $699.99, depending on the size you get. Another awesome perk is that these mattresses will all ship for free, which is a sweet deal when it comes to a large item like a mattress.

The prices for these mattress are as follows:

  • $199.99 (reg. $699.99) for the twin XL
  • $229.99 (reg. $749.99) for the full
  • $269.99 (reg. $849.99) for the queen
  • $379.99 (reg. $999.99) for the California King
  • $399.99 for the King (reg. $949.99)

The mattress you sleep on is probably one of the most important parts of your day. If you have a crappy mattress and get a disturbed sleep or wake up keeling over in pain, the rest of your day will also be affected. Bad mattresses ruin lives. When my husband and I were first married, our in-laws gave us their old King mattress. It was great to have a King mattress because I’m a light sleeper and can’t have anyone touching me while I’m sleeping. However, because the mattress was over ten years old, it definitely had tell-tale signs of wear. My father-in-law is a big guy and I’m sure he put a solid dent in one side. I would wake up bent over in back pain and it wasn’t until I was pregnant for the third time when I said forget this and we splurged on a new mattress. Too bad they didn’t have a deal as good as this at the time. For a King, we could have spent only $400 and solved all my problems in the beginning.

I’ll let you read the description, but tell you that it is a 10″ thick mattress with 2.5″ of memory foam and 7.5″ of polyurethane foam. It is soft, conforming to weight put on it and has open cell technology so you stay cool when you sleep. I worry about foam mattresses and their effect on my health and the environment, but this one looks good in terms of this.

The reviews are wonderful, and you should take a read at the pros, cons and tips they give. As for price comparing, I couldn’t find this mattress anywhere else except, but as mattresses with good reviews go, this is a solid price.

Sears Canada Outlet: Sealy Mattress & Box Spring Set Under $960

Posted by on April 15, 2014 at 8:30 PM

Sears Canada Outlet: Sealy Mattress & Box Spring Set Under $960

We are looking to eventually replace our mattress so I was checking out the deals at Sears Canada. You can get the Sealy Posturepedic “Pacific Rim” Mattress and Box Spring set in any size for under $1000 and save up to $1000 while you are at it.

I am looking to downsize from a queen size bed to a double bed. I don’t move around a lot at night and frankly I use the same amount of space no matter what size of bed I’m in. With a double bed, it just means I will be laying closer to my partner.

The Sealy Posturepedic ”Pacific Rim” Euro Top Mattress costs $1079.99 regular price for the double size mattress, but on sale it comes down to just $589.95. You have a choice between firm or plush and I would most certainly go for plush.

I could even get the matching Sealy Posturepedic ”Pacific Rim” Box Spring in a double for just $160, originally $320. You have the choice of low profile or standard. I would probably go for low profile as I kind of like my bed either close to the ground or close to the ceiling, like a nest. In total I would be spending just $749.95 for a new bed.

The other size combinations are just as cost friendly:

  • Twin: $559.95 + $140 = $699.95
  • Twin XL: $589.95 + $160 = $749.95
  • Double XL: $629.95 + $170 = $799.95
  • Queen: $629.95 + $170 = $799.95
  • Queen: $629.95 + $135 (split box spring) = $764.95
  • King: $809.95 + $145 = $954.95

Shipping will depend on where your new bed is being shipped off to. If you have a truck, you might want to pick this up in store to save on shipping costs.

Sears Outlet Canada: Half Price Mattresses

Posted by on February 17, 2014 at 11:30 PM

Sears Outlet Canada: Half Price Mattresses

I am in the market for a new mattress and while most people are looking to go bigger, I want to downsize from a queen to a double. No matter what size of mattress you are looking for, you should check out the Sears Outlet as they have mattresses up to 50% off right now.

I want a new mattress but I don’t want to pay that much for it. This Sealy Posturepedic PROBACK Lake is one of my cheapest options. The double regularly costs $1279.99 and is on sale for $639.95. If you wanted to upgrade to the queen, you could get that for $719.95, which is also half off its full price.

The other more affordable mattress deal is this Sealy Posturepedic PROBACK Pacific. While the double isn’t quite 50% off the original retail price, the queen size is. Originally $1259.99, the queen size mattress will cost you $629.95 in either firm or plush. I vote plush!

There are many other mattress deals in this sale and sizes range from twin all the way up to king size. Shipping will depend on what you buy and where it is getting delivered to.
