Starting tomorrow, in-store at Marks Work Wearhouse Canada, there’s a new deal happening. If you spend $25 or more on casualwear, they will give you a free Canadian Tire gift card worth $10.

A $10 return for spending $25 seems to be very generous. The Canadian Tire gift card will be valid until July 2011, so you’d have a good couple of months to make use of it.

Alternatively, there’s a printable coupon for a $10 discount on a $50 spend (ends 22nd June 2011), if you think that might be more appropriate to you.

Plus, remember that Marks is having one of their extra 20% off nights next week, on Thursday the 16th of June 2011. These nights have always been popular in the past, so it might be worth noting in your calendar.

In my opinion, Marks is really great for casual workwear. A friend of mine regularly uses their crease free shirts, she can look stylish with the minimum of work involved!

I’ll be looking for these Cork Wedge Sandals, listed as $59.99 on the website. I’m hoping they will have them in store for 50% off ($29.99). Mark’s has quite a selection of women’s tanks with built in underwire bras. This printed Denver Hayes Curve Tech Bra Tank is listed as $26.99, so it should be on sale for $13.50.

I used to shop at Mark’s Work Wearhouse quite a bit when it was one of only a few clothing stores where I lived. I especially like their ‘Never Iron’ shirts and pants that look like they’ve been drycleaned when they’ve just come from the dryer!

My hubby picked up a sweater there a few weeks ago (in the Boxing Day Sale), it looks good on him. He paid less than $20 for it. It is a nylon / viscose / wool cashmere blend. Pretty nice texture actually and maintains it’s shape really well. I was surprised he picked it out, usually we differ greatly in taste on what he should wear.

I have been to one of these events and it was nice. I think the quality of Mark’s has been improving the last few years, as well as the styles. I couldn’t resist posting this again, a letter Anna got from Mooser Meg about Mark’s:

I have wrecked everything from brand name dresses to sportswear by washing it. I’ve turned my boyfriend’s dress shirts bright pink, shrunk an irreplaceable bridesmaid gown a day before the wedding, and ripped sleeves off vintage clothing. So I was sceptical about Mark’s promise that their Perfectly Pressed French Cuff Shirts were easy to care for, wrinkle free, and super easy to wash.

However, after wearing both shirts several times, running them through the washer repeatedly, and accidentally leaving one of them tied to something on my neighbour’s roof rack, I can honestly say these shirts are now my favourites. They’re comfortable, stylish, and yes… super easy to care for. The fabric is not prone to pilling, and doesn’t become a lint magnet when I inevitably forget to put dryer sheets in the dryer. And as a bonus, it’s super soft, lightly stretchy, and it looks a lot pricier than it is.

Good job, Marks. I will definitely be stocking up on these.

I was recently in Mark’s Wearhouse after their West Edmonton Mall store got a makeover and I was really pleased with both the new look and the new products. They had some beautiful skirts and a suede jacket I really liked! I think Mark’s is certainly improving with age.
