Lowes Canada: Mega Tool Event

Posted by on September 26, 2014 at 10:00 AM

Lowes Canada: Mega Tool Event

Need some tools? You’ve come to the right place! Lowes has up to 40% off tools during their mega tool event happening right now.

The other day my husband and I gave away a couch on kijiji and these dudes came to pick it up. We had to take off a door for them to get it out and the dudes took the door off, got their couch and left and didn’t help to get the door back on. I have a word for people like this but I won’t say it here, but it does start with D! Anyway, I had to help my husband get the door back on and I got to use the electric drill. It was fun! I would never, ever call myself handy. I would be lost without my husband as I only know how to work a hammer, but I could really get into this using tools thing.

My husband loves tools and this sale would make him giddy. He does a lot of woodworking so this Dewalt 15 amp 10-inch compact job site table saw with site-pro modular guarding system is probably something he’d like to see in his workshop. It was $449 and now $329. Shopping around, I didn’t find it as much as the regular price, but no stores had it as low as Lowes.

If hand tools are what you need, you’ll get 25% off all Bostitch hand tools during this sale. Dewalt air tools are 15% off and there are a number of promo codes that will get you free accessories with your purchases. For example, with the purchase of the Dewalt 20-volt Max XR lithium brushless framing pneumatic nailer, you’ll get a free Dewalt 20-volt Max premium lithium ion cordless tool battery worth $129 with promo code FREEBATTERY.

There are lots of other items on sale, so you might want to check for yourself what you might need. As always, do your research and price compare as even sale prices aren’t always the lowest prices around.

If your item can be shipped by parcel, shipping is always free.

Lowe’s Canada: 73% Off Hamilton Beach Coffee Maker – Now $19

Posted by on September 19, 2014 at 4:30 PM

Lowes Canada: 73% Off Hamilton Beach Coffee Maker Now $19

K-cups are great and all but do you love coffee the old-fashioned way? Then grab yourself a Hamilton Beach 49981c single-serve coffee maker on clearance for just $19 at Lowe’s, which is a $50.99 reduction from its original price of $69.99.

Although this Hamilton Beach coffee maker is just a standard coffee making machine, what differentiates it the most from all the other $20 ones is that it looks much sleeker with its more elongated style and stainless steel make. Unlike the other ones, there is also no glass coffee pot as it brews one cup of coffee at a time and has a capacity of 1-5 cups.

I love my Keurig brewer but sometimes I do wish I had a single-serve coffee maker for when I run out of k-cups or for those times when budget doesn’t really allow overspending on coffee (as it’s so much cheaper to just buy ground coffee instead of the k-cup). This machine also promises to serve hotter coffee with a better taste and while the expected temperature of the poured coffee isn’t listed, this is most certainly an intriguing factor as personally, I have had to start using a tumbler to keep my coffee hotter than it would be in a mug. I also tend to drink my coffee really slowly, but even then, it’s not always hot enough right away.

Reviews are also extremely favourable. With 6 reviews on the Lowe’s site and nearly a perfect score of 5 stars out of 5, here’s what on reviewer had to say about this nifty coffee maker:

Made two cups of very hot coffee in about 3 minutes. Perfect for me. I’ve been wanting a single serve coffee maker but didn’t want to spend the big bucks on the one that takes expensive pods. You can use whatever coffee you want in this one. Comes with two scoops so you can have another cup ready to brew while you wait on the first. Best purchase I have made in a long time.

The fact that this coffee maker is 73% off its original price is also pretty amazing because looking around, I found this exact model for the following prices:

Shipping is free as well.

Lowe’s Canada Freebie: Free Battery (Up To $130 Value) With Purchase Of Select Cordless Combo Kits & Tools

Posted by on September 15, 2014 at 8:00 AM

Lowes Canada Freebie: Free Battery (Up To $130 Value) With Purchase Of Select Cordless Combo Kits & Tools

Are you ready for a major freebie? The “Free Battery Cordless Tool Event” is currently on at Lowe’s and you guessed it… you can get a free battery with any cordless combo kits and select tools! Plus, shipping is also sure to be free for all off these! Keep reading to find out more. Lowes Canada Freebie: Free Battery (Up To $130 Value) With Purchase Of Select Cordless Combo Kits & Tools

During this event, you can either get a free battery with purchase of any DeWalt or Porter Cable cordless combo kit or with purchase of select Hitachi, Bosh and Kobalt tools. To make it easier for you, I have broken it down into the kind of savings you can expect to see when you get:

DeWALT

  • $249 20V max lithium ion compact drill/ driver & impact driver combo kit: free $89.99 value battery
  • $169 12/20V max charger radio: free $89.99 value battery
  • $229 18V cordless compact drill/ impact driver combo kit: free $129 value battery
  • $499 18V worksite charger/ radio: free $129 value battery
  • + free battery with any cordless combo kit

Porter-Cable

  • $169 20V max li-ion drill-driver and impact driver combo kit: free $79.99 value battery
  • $269 4-tool 20V li-ion cordless combo kit: free $79.99 value battery
  • + free battery with any cordless combo kit

Bosh

  • $199 2-tool 18V li-ion drill-driver cordless combo kit: free $89.99 value battery
  • $249 18V 1/2-in cordless variable speed brushless impact driver with soft case: free $89.99 value battery

Kobalt

  • $179 4-tool 18V motor li-ion cordless combo kit: free $59.99 value battery

Hitachi

  • $249 1/2-in 18V variable speed cordless hammer drill: free $119 value battery
  • $259 3-tool 18V li-ion cordless combo kit: free $79.99 value battery

Keep in mind that all of the initial prices that you see are those for the combo kit or tools in question and these are actually all on sale as well.

Given that Dewalt is widely considered as being one of the best brands in the field of repairs and construction, I searched for the very first combo kit on the list above, the Dewalt 20V max lithium ion compact drill/ driver & impact driver combo kit. Lowe’s has it on sale for $249, down from the original retail price of $299. To be fair, Amazon.ca actually has it slightly cheaper for just $241.22 but it’s the fact that Lowe’s throws in a free battery that makes it all worth it. For anyone who frequently uses their cordless drill, an extra battery can certainly make all the difference. Heck, even for a personal project, it can make all the difference as there is nothing worse than setting out to either start or complete a project only to be stalled by a dead battery!

Moosers, between all of the brands listed above, what is your favourite? Share with us in the comments section!

Lowes Canada Coupon: Save the Tax Event

Starting today, Lowes Canada has a really great store wide deal happening.  For just a few days only, you will be able to save the tax on you entire order with this awesome coupon code up to 11.5% off your purchases.

Click here to shop @ Lowes.ca now

  • Coupon Code: SAVETHETAX
  • Discount: 10%- 11.5% off
  • Expiry: 7th September 2014

Depending on where you live, the coupon will save you different amounts.  Alberta and Saskatchewan residents will save 10% on their orders, and  Ontario and  British Columbia residents will save 11.5% on their orders.  This is not bad at all considering that the tax in Alberta is only 5%.  That means you are actually saving DOUBLE the tax!

The only exclusions for this coupon is that you will not get the discount on gift cards, installations, GE Cafe Appliances and clearance items. Also, you cannot price match with the save the tax coupon.  Other than that, you will be able to save on your purchases.

There are some great deals on that you may want to check out to pair with this coupon code.  For example, if you want to update your house, they have wall paper on sale for 40% off right now. If you are looking for a new home appliance, they have some deals on those as well.  Save up to $775 on major appliances until September 10th.

They also have dimmers, light switches and wall plates all on sale at 10% off the regular prices right now.  I know personally, I make fall and winter my times to update a bit because we are stuck inside with the cold weather.  Sales like these and coupons like this one that will save you the tax make is far more affordable to invest in my house.

Shipping depends on the item, but Lowes offers free parcel shipping with no minimum purchase. So, if your item can ship by parcel shipping, you pay no extra costs. Additionally, when you order online, you can pick up your order as fast as just one hour at your local store.  That is pretty amazing!

This Lowes Canada coupon will be posted up on the Bargainmoose coupon forum for easy online shopping. There is also another one posted up on the forum right now that could save you some money as well.  Your best best bet is to try them both out and see which one saves you the most money.

Kobalt Sliding Compound Miter Saw Was $150 Now $100 (Potentially $90) @ Lowes.ca & Free Shipping

Posted by on August 30, 2014 at 12:00 PM

Kobalt Sliding Compound Miter Saw Was $150 Now $100 (Potentially $90) @ Lowes.ca & Free Shipping

This weekend, there’s a bit of a deal on this Kobalt 7 1/4-in 9-Amp Sliding Compound Miter Saw with Laser Guide, online @ Lowes Canada. Originally priced at $149, it’s now only $99, and that’s with free shipping too.

If you’ve never before shopped at Lowes.ca online, then you can make the above price even better. Sign up to the email newsletter there and they will email you a $10 coupon code for a $50 spend.  You need to use that coupon code within a week and it should work on the above Kobalt saw.

In case you were not aware, Kobalt is Lowes own brand of tools, so it’s not really possible for me to price compare this exact model at any other Canadian online stores. I can show you similar branded items though, such as this Makita which is $550 on Amazon.ca! Another Makita is $712 here on BlackRockTools. There’s a cheaper Ryobi for $141 here on HomeDepot, that’s probably more along the lines of this Kobalt model.

Obviously for this price, you’re not going to get a heavy duty machine capable of working day in, day out, on construction sites… but for basic home DIY use, this might do the job. It’s a 7 and a quarter inch blade, so it’s not a huge saw for any large cutting jobs. You can get miter saws with larger blade capabilities, but obviously you’d be paying more for bigger and better models.

There are 96 reviews on this particular saw on the Lowes website, with exactly half of them giving this Kobalt miter saw a 5 star rating. The top review from Chris states this:

I built a deck this summer and solely used this saw for it. It had no issues cutting 4x4s, 2x6s and deck boards.

That sounds ideal! I would love my partner to build us a deck in the garden. If only…

On the whole, the reviews on this particular unit are very positive, and it seems ideal for home use… regardless if it looks like something out of Robot Wars.

Lowes Canada Coupon: Extra 5 To 15% Discount

Posted by on August 15, 2014 at 7:00 PM

Lowes Canada Coupon: Extra 5 To 15% Discount

Lowe’s Canada is offering an extra 5% to 15% discount depending on how much you spend this weekend.

Click here to @ shop Lowes.ca now

  • Coupon Code: WEEKEND5
  • Discount: 5% off $100
  • Coupon Code: WEEKEND10
  • Discount: 10% off $200
  • Coupon Code: WEEKEND15
  • Discount: 15% off $300+
  • Expiry: 17th August 2014

There are three tiers of coupons for you to maximize your savings depending upon the total amount you are spending. Combine the coupon codes with sales to save even more. I have selected a few items to show you what a great deal these coupons, when combined with sales, give you.

After coupon code, you are paying just over $200 for a brand new dryer, which is a phenomenal price! This dryer is sold out already in many locations, so before getting your hopes up you will need to put in your postal code and see if it is available locally. As the dryer is so big, it is either available for free in store pickup or would ship via Lowe’s Truck Delivery, which would cost you a few bucks.

You know my love for Dyson vacuums, so when I ran across a few on sale at Lowes, I just could not resist posting about them. These three beauties are all on sale for $50 to $200 off their original price. For the vacuums over $300, I used the 15% off coupon code to get the after coupon price. On the stick vacuum cleaner, you can still use the 10% off coupon code.

The DC29 and the DC35 qualify for free parcel shipping as well. This makes those two deals probably the best of the Dyson vacuum offers at Lowe’s Canada. The DC29 is $399.99 at places like BestBuy Canada and the DC35 is $299.99 there as well. What makes these offers stellar at Lowe’s is the discount from that coupon code.

The DC43 (Animal) qualifies for free in store pickup or would be shipped out on a Lowe’s truck for a price. It would probably only be worth buying if you could pick it up locally.

There are many more deals at Lowe’s Canada on household items, building supplies, tools, accessories, and more. Enjoy these extra discounts and get some great deals.

For these and any future Lowe’s coupon codes, visit the forum.

Lowes Canada: Monarch Specialties Futon Only $300 & Free Shipping

Posted by on August 5, 2014 at 12:30 PM

Lowes Canada: Monarch Specialties Futon Only $300 & Free Shipping

When I went off to university, I had my own little basement apartment, which needed some furnishing, with a bed and a couch. Since I was a university student, I couldn’t afford both, so I chose to get an all-in-one option of a futon. Lowes has an amazing deal on a Monarch Specialties Click-Clack futon, which is now $150 off. The regular price of $454 has now been reduced to $304 and it includes shipping directly from the vendor.

I love this futon as it has a leather-look, which also means it is much more durable than the fabric futons I had for school. Believe me too, you will want something durable as you’ll be spending a lot of time on your futon, both for sleeping, studying and whatever else you’ll do once you have your own place.

Buying two is also a good idea if you can afford it as you’ll have a place for your friends to crash when they come to visit. I went away to school and I found my friends always wanted to visit, as I lived in a fun party town, and of course they wanted to see me. That way, you could keep one as a bed and one as a couch, or convert both to couches when you have a party and both to beds when you have sleepovers.

If you weren’t 100% on the style of this futon, Lowes has a few others also on sale, just in time for going back to school. This black faux leather futon is similar to the one I just mentioned, but has removable arms. It is also $150 off, with a regular price of $638 and now $488. If you wanted it in microfiber, just change the upholstery and you can get it in coffee for $469, with a regular price of $619. This looks like a really nice piece of furniture too!

The other two futons on sale are both either out of stock or not in stock yet, but you can click the notify me button to see if they become available before the expiry of the sale at the end of August.

Lowes Canada: Boxing Week in July

Posted by on July 3, 2014 at 1:00 PM

Lowes Canada: Boxing Week in July

Save huge during Lowes Boxing Week in July sale on right now until the 9th. You can save on appliances, patio, kitchen and bath, tools and so much more.

While no one wants to think about snow right now, we can think about all those hot deals you get at Boxing Week sales. This Lowes sale is perfect because the weather is warm and the deals are hot. I see a number of good deals that I’d like to get to furnish my backyard space and there are a few tools I know my hubby might want to check out, as he is in full-on summer project mode.

I just purchased a hot deal on a patio conversation set from Lowes, and this Garden Treasures 41,000 BTU liquid propane patio heater is the perfect addition to my set up. I’ll save $50 on it and pay only $149 instead of $199.

With my conversation set, comes cushions. My husband is very anal about us needing to protect the cushions from the rain, so I asked him to make me a deck box. Alternatively, we could look at this Keter resin deck box, which will save him the work and it is only $119, with a regular price of $159.

If he did decide to build my deck box, and I’m thinking of one with a built-in cooler, he would need a good table saw. At $100 off, this Kobalt 15-amp 10-in table saw is a steal. It was originally $299, now $199.

There are also a number of appliance deals, than can save you over $1000 or more, so if you are in the market for a new fridge, stove, washer, dryer or more, take a look at what Lowes is offering.

Shipping depends on the item, but Lowes offers free parcel shipping with no minimum purchase. So, if your item can ship by parcel shipping, you pay no extra costs.

Lowes.ca: Cuisinart Square Belgian Waffle Maker (Now $75.99 Was $99.99)

Posted by on June 27, 2014 at 12:30 PM

Lowes.ca: Cuisinart Square Belgian Waffle Maker (Now $75.99 Was $99.99)

If you are looking for a way to impress your family at breakfast, check out this deal at Lowe’s: their Cuisinart Square Belgian Waffle Maker is now $25 off. Plus, use this coupon code (SAVETHETAX) to save the tax till Sunday, making the final price $75.99 (regularly $99.99).

My family loves when I break out the belgian waffle maker. We try to make a big breakfast on one weekend morning, and though this doesn’t always happen especially now that the nice weather is here, it’s something our children look forward to. It took me a couple of tries to come up with a belgian waffle recipe that worked for us, but once you have the base you’ll find that you can evolve from there. Recently I’ve even started incorporating different flours (coconut, buckwheat), but our stand by is a mixture of whole wheat and white flour.

The waffles are a fun way for the kids to customize a portion of their breakfast. Sometimes we incorporate fresh fruit (bananas, apples, raspberries, strawberries or blueberries, other times my children opt for chocolate chips or a combination of the two. Occasionally we get really crazy creative and incorporate fresh fruit and chococlate chips (bananas with peanut butter chips and mini chocolate chips are a fav). I know, we are w-i-l-d! If I’m going to go to the trouble of making waffles, I always make extra and freeze them. This way I can send half size portions in the children’s lunches.

Be sure to do your research on the best way to care for your waffle iron. The model we have only requires us to wipe the griddle clean after each use. Washing waffle irons with soap and water after each use can eventually impact the quality of waffle and the consistency in which you have satisfying results.

Although I don’t own this exact model, ours is a Cuisinart and we have owned it for over 16 years without fail. Check out this customer’s review on the model featured:

makes excellent waffles every time. This will, of course, also depend on the recipe used but no matter which recipe I try the waffles always come out right. I particularly like the 4-waffles- at a time- feature. This waffle maker gets a lot of workout in our household and doesn’t take that much space in the cupboard either.

This item ships via parcel shipping, which is free across Canada, so that’s an extra savings. As well, Lowe’s offers free in-store pick up: pay for it online and pick up within the hour. However, your local store must have it in stock.

Lowe’s Canada: 50% Off Shop-Vac Now $84.50

Posted by on June 23, 2014 at 10:30 PM

Lowes Canada: 50% Off Shop Vac Now $84.50

Lowe’s Canada has put this Shop-Vac 45 L 6.5-Peak HP Shop Vacuum on sale for just $84.50, which is 50% off the original price of $169. You will also receive free parcel shipping.

Shop-Vacs are fantastic for anyone with a garage, shop, or work shed that needs a little help being cleaned. They have powerful enough suction to clean up some of the worst messes and they can handle abuse a normal vacuum cannot. This Peak HP shop vacuum is a wet/dry unit, which means it can suck up both dry goods as well as liquids without harming the vacuum. It is designed to handle everyday garage messes, which often include fluids. This vacuum will also not require emptying all that often as it is a 45L model. It also has a 2 1/2 inch hose to pick up larger pieces of debris.

For me, I do not own a shop or a garage so, you would think, this vacuum would be rather useless. However, I own a car that I like to clean out myself instead of pay someone else to do so or shovel coins into my local car wash to use their vacuum. This Shop-Vac is perfect for cleaning the interior of a car. It can handle all the crumbs, dirt chunks, and any liquids that might have spilled. With the long, wide, and flexible cord, the shop vacuums really beat conventional vacuums for cleaning car interiors. In my experience, shop vacuums are also lighter than your usual in-home vacuum, which makes them much easy to maneuver when cleaning up.

However, this is not a simple shop vacuum: it is a 2-in-1 unit, which features a powerful yard blower to make yard cleanup a breeze (literally). The blower is detachable for easy utilization. Clean the leaves off your patio or driveway with this simple tool.

The Shop-Vac has 6.5 HP and uses a bag and cartridge filtration system. It comes with several different attachments as you can see in the image above. The vacuum also comes with a five-year warranty, which is pretty surprising given how many items are only sold with one year warranties these days.

Thankfully, this Shop-Vac will ship with parcel shipping, which is free across Canada so there are no extra fees. I think this is a great deal for a 2-in-1 wet/dry vacuum with a detachable blower.

The first set for 50% off is the Goodtimes Butterfly Kids Serveware Set. The plate and the bowl are both shaped like pretty butterflies in the colour scheme of purple, pink, with yellow accents. The mug appears to be mostly pink as do the utensils, with little butterfly accents on the bottom of the handles.

The second set is all abuzz with yellow, black, and blues! It is the Goodtimes Bee Kids Serveware Set. Again, the plate and the bowl are both shaped like bees and the bee even has a face on the side of the dishes. The top of each dish has wings of blue, which is a nice break from the yellow/black colour scheme. Blue also looks so nice with yellow. You can find little yellow bumblebees accenting the bottom of the included utensils.

The third set, and my absolute favourite, is the Goodtimes Fish Kids Serveware Set. It has the greatest array of colours including light blue, darker blue, green, yellow, and even some pink accents. I just adore the fish design of both the plate and the bowl.  I also really like the two shades of blue they use for the utensils and the cup is blue.

I thought this was a cool deal because kids like personalized items: things that are just for them. In addition, if your child is a fussy eater, then it might be easier to get them to eat if the food is on a ‘special plate’ or in a ‘special bowl’ that is all their own. I even think these would be fantastic for a birthday girl or boy instead of plastic/paper that they would then have to throw away.

Even as an adult I like having a mug that no one else really uses and when I lived on my own I literally used one plate all the time. If I still lived alone I would probably just buy myself the fish set and call it a day.

All three of these adorable sets are not only 50% off, but they also receive free parcel shipping across Canada.

Lowes Canada: Dewalt 37 Piece Screwdriver Set Only $10 (Was $30)

Still looking for a Father’s Day gift? Lowes has a super deal on a Dewalt 37-piece screwdriver set. It was originally $29.98, and now only $9.98. It will also ship to you free!

Not just a fantastic gift idea, but a handy item for every household, this screwdriver set has everything you’d need for bits. It includes Phillips, slotted, Robertson, magnetic nutsetters and a magnetic drive guide. Ask me what any of these are, and I really can’t tell you. I know zilch about tools besides that this is a hammer, screwdriver, wrench and a nail. However, I know a good deal when I see it and I think this is one!

What else can you say about drill bits? It comes in a very handy yellow hard-sided carrying case, so you can take it with you to whatever job you need to do. I asked my handy husband what all the Moosers would need to know about this set and he said he has one of these sets, and that this was a fantastic price. He said it is great to have all the different sizes of bits, and this would be great for just about anyone, as the bits eventually wear out and you need to replace them and instead of buying one at a time, this set has them all!

While they can wear out, these ones are made from hardened steel, with multiple application functionality and are high quality.

As I said, this will ship for free as Lowes has free parcel shipping! If you love free shipping deals, then you absolutely must check out our free shipping page, which lists all of the stores we know who ship for free with no minimum order.
