The Best Deals On Backpacks For Kids, Teens & Adults For Back To School

Yesterday I told you about the hottest deals on preschool backpacks. Today I’ll let you know where you can score the best prices on backpacks for older kids for back to school. Obviously there is quite a difference between what a preschooler needs from what a kid in grade six needs backpack-wise, plus no reputable 11-year-old will carry around a 3D doggie.

When kids get into grade one, what they have to carry home gets a little more. Read the rest of this entry »

LL Bean: Extra 20% Off Site Wide TODAY only, Free Canadian Shipping, No Minimum! (Expired)

Popular US based retailer L.L. Bean has an interesting offer available for today only. Using the link below, you will get an extra 20% discount on ANY items on their site (regular priced and sale items), as well as totally free Canadian shipping with no minimum spend!

Clicking the above link will activate the extra 20% discount offer. If you just browse to the L.L. Bean site yourself or close your window, you may not see the offer any more – just make sure to use the above link to activate the extra discount.

Free Canadian Shipping

Here on the L.L. Bean shipping information page, they state that the founder didn’t want anybody to have to pay extra to do business with him, so ended up offering totally free shipping within the US and Canada. This is an amazing deal for a US company to offer to Canadian consumers; it’s an absolutely excellent offer.

Mooser Reviews

When we have posted about L.L Bean in the past here on Bargainmoose, we’ve had positive comments from our Moosers.

Mooser Sue says:

Been buying from them for years, both online and in the store. Very good about returning or replacing any defective product that bears their name. The only thing I find is that the women’s clothing tends to fit shorter folks better than those of us above 5’ 7”, especially in sleeve length.

And Mooser Jenn says:

I try to keep my orders under $20, I have never been hit with duty and tax when I do this. We like their lunch bags.

After reading Jenn’s comment, I decided to take a look and see what she meant. L.L. Bean’s lunch bags here are really cute and quite reasonably priced too. Here are a few examples with the extra discount:

Customs & Duties

L.L. Bean ship their orders to Canada from the US. All potential duties and customs will be shown to you in the amount you pay at checkout, so you don’t have to worry about any surprise fees at your door. If there are multiple items you are interested in buying, then I would recommend ordering each one in a separate order as you get free shipping anyway. As we all know, Canadian orders of $20 or less won’t incur customs or duties anyway. For example, ordering one of the above lunch boxes has no extra duties or taxes on it, but ordering 10 did have extra costs. L.L. Bean: Free Canadian Shipping & Summer Sale Now On (US)

L.L. Bean: Free Canadian Shipping & Summer Sale Now On (US)

I sometimes browse some US based stores to see if there are any good deals for the Bargainmoosers. For quite a while now, L.L. Bean have offered free Canadian shipping on any order, with no minimum spend. Some of you may have been aware of this, some of you may not… so I’ll just do a quick reminder post about it. L.L. Bean: Free Canadian Shipping & Summer Sale Now On (US)

The free Canadian shipping is quite brilliant to see from a US store. It’s not often we see stores shipping from the US that will offer free shipping up to Canada, so this is definitely a huge bonus.

Customs / Duties

You will, of course, be liable to pay any extra fees on your order such as customs and duties. But you should be pleased to hear that all these charges are included at the checkout, you won’t get a nasty bill at your door. You’ll be able to go through checkout and see exactly how much you’re going to have to pay, then make an informed decision if it’s a good enough deal or if you’d prefer to buy from a Canadian store instead.

Summer Sales!

Right now, LL Bean is having their summer sale, in which they are offering up to 50% off select items. Here are a few deals that I’ve spotted. For all these below, I am showing taxes for Ontario as a reference, this may differ depending on your province):

Another good point about buying from LL Bean is you’ll probably have less embarrassing wardrobe clashes with friends and family. You wouldn’t get as many people in Canada walking round in LL Bean merchandise.

Tell us, have you ever bought from LL Bean? Let us know your experiences in the comments below please!

L.L. Bean: Free $10 Gift Card w/ $50 Purchase

Posted by on December 18, 2013 at 9:05 AM

L.L. Bean: Free $10 Gift Card w/ $50 Purchase

L.L. Bean (US) is offering a free $10 promotional gift card when you spend $50 or more at L.L. Bean (US) before Christmas is upon us.

The promotional gift card will expire the 12th of February 2014. There is a limit of one card per customer per day and all qualifying orders must hit that $50 minimum after all discounts, promotions, etcetera!

L.L. Bean offers free shipping to Canada but as Canadians we are responsible for any duty/customs charges we might incur from something crossing the border. Luckily, if the item is made in the USA we will not pay duty on it so it is worthwhile to take some extra time to look up where the item was made to see if you can avoid duty charges all together.

L.L. Bean makes great quality items that my husband’s cousin swears by. I have been looking for good slippers as my husband has mentioned the temperature of my feet in bed lately. These Women’s Wicked Good Slippers have over 2000 reviews for a near perfect 5/5 stars!! They cost $79 and I could get the free $10 gift card with them as an added bonus.

All prices are in USD.

L. L. Bean: Save 49% Off Faux Fur Trimmed Fleeced Lined Hoodie & Free Shipping

I was browsing L. L. Bean’s sale site and found a great fall hoodie at almost 50% off.

This cute hoodie is 49% off. Available in 7 colours for sizes XS-XL, it’s on sale for $29.99 (reg. $59). It’s got lots of great reviews from both young and older customers.

One happy customer says,

Was able to enjoy the comfort and warmth of this hoodie. It is like the jacket you always wanted but never thought it existed.  The weight of this jacket can keep you warm in the coldest weather. The navy blue is absolutely stunning against the beige fur on the outer edge of the hood.  Received several compliments and am planning to order more.

I love companies that offer free shipping to Canada with no minimum order, no coupon code and no end date! L.L Bean is one of  those great companies. You can click here for more information about duties and taxes from L.L. Bean.
