Chapters Indigo Canada: Free SleepCover ($40 Value) With Kobo Aura Purchase

Chapters Indigo Canada: Free SleepCover ($40 Value) With Kobo Aura Purchase

Summer is for catching up on your reading and since everyone’s favourite season is right around the corner, here’s a great promotion for all those of you who don’t have an eReader yet! Right now at Chapters Indigo, you can get a free SleepCover, valued at $39.99, with purchase of a Kobo Aura eReader.

The black Kobo Aura SleepCover is already sold out online but you can still get one in the following choices of colour:

Here’s a review for the SleepCover:

I love the Kobo Aura Sleepcover – it makes holding my e-reader easy and comfortable as well as providing protection to the device. The sleep feature is a wonderful option that I use often. I recommend this to everyone.

As for the Kobo Aura, which you need to get in order to get the SleepCover freebie, it’s a 6″ high resolution eReader 4GB that can hold up to 30,000 eBooks. Even if you happen to fill up the internal storage with that many books, you always have the option of expanding the memory.

The battery life is also set to last more than 2 months. I have had my Sony eReader for a couple of years now and it’s very similar to this Kobo Aura in that it’s a Pearl E ink skin with no colour. There are plenty of eReaders on the market right now that feature colour and whilst I have contemplated upgrading to one, I ultimately decided that I was happy with my non-colour one because all I do is read books on it. If you’re looking to watch videos or read comic books, then a colour one might be useful. Otherwise, this Kobo Aura should definitely do the trick.

Priced at $129.99, the Kobo Aura is also currently cheaper at Chapters Indigo than anywhere else. I found this same eReader for $139.99 at Best Buy. So at Chapters Indigo, not only is it cheaper, but it also comes with the $40 freebie — win-win! Out of 12 reviews, the Kobo Aura also has 3.8/5 stars at Chapters Indigo.

As shipping is free on orders over $25, your purchase and freebie are sure to qualify for free shipping as well.

Get $50 in Free Gifts With the Purchase of Kobo Aura @ Chapters Indigo (Expired)

Get $50 in Free Gifts With the Purchase of Kobo Aura @ Chapters Indigo (Expired)

With all the great books being released lately, it might be time for an e-reader. If you get the Kobo Aura at Chapters Indigo right now, you’ll also score a $10 Kobo gift card and a free sleepcover worth $40. That’s $50 in gifts just for buying the Aura at the price of $129.99, which is only $10 less than the regular price, but the gifts aren’t being offered at any other store. You’ll also get free shipping.

The Kobo Aura might just make the perfect Valentine’s gift for your beloved who may be oogling your e-reader. I’d actually love a Kobo e-reader, and giving it with the free gifts makes it the perfect little package.

If you don’t think you need a sleepcover, think again. I don’t know if the screen is glass, but I recently bought my youngest son a tablet and it is already smashed because someone took off the cover. It was actually my fault that it fell, but if it had a case or cover, it would have done much better hitting the floor.

The $10 gift card is also great because it gives you money to buy some reading material. Kobo often has books on sale for only a few dollars, so you could probably get about three books with that gift card. It is a superb start to your e-reading experience.

Chapters Indigo also has very fast shipping, so if you bought today you could maybe even expect to get your order before the weekend.

The Aura has very good reviews, although I’m sure you expected that it would. It really is the epitome of e-readers.

I read the other night for 2 hours with the backlight at 36% and it only used 5% of my battery. It continues to have amazing battery performance. It also charges incredibly quick! So, why have I, a bibliophile and book aestheticist finally come back for round two with this new Ereader? A friend whose opinion on electronic matters I value very highly acclaimed it. That was enough for me.

I am one of those people who value traditional paper books and magazines, but you can’t beat the easiness and handiness of an e-reader! Add the e-reader to your cart and the other two items will be added automatically.

Best Buy & Future Shop Canada: Kobo Arc 10.1″ Was $300 | Now $170

Best Buy & Future Shop Canada: Kobo Arc 10.1 Was $300 | Now $170

Best Buy and Future Shop have a hot deal on the Kobo Arc 10.1 16GB tablet that was $300 and now only $169.99. This is the lowest price I’ve ever seen this tablet.

This is seriously a great deal that I’m considering taking advantage of. My kids have Kobo Arc tablets in the 7″ version and they are great. I like having a larger screen, so I considered buying this tablet at full-price last year. Instead, I can save $130 and get it today until January 8th or until they sell out.

You might think of Kobo as just an e-reader but this Android tablet is just as good as any other Android tablet and even rivals iPad in my opinion at half the price. You can of course, use it as an e-reader as well, although it doesn’t have the same type of screen you see in e-readers that make them so great at the beach.

I personally like the 10″ because I use my tablet for recipes and I like to be able to see it larger. Of course, watching movies and surfing is also better on a larger screen and I still find this size portable enough to put in my purse.

This tablet has a 4.3 star rating out of five, with value being rated the highest and performance almost as good.

Impressive processing power under the hood makes the Arc 10 quite fast. A bit heavy, a bit boxy, but the back is well-designed and actually pretty cool-looking with a grippy coating.

I really like this device! I still have to play around with it a fair bit more to figure out all the things that it can do, but so far so good. The only thing is that the speakers don’t seem very loud sometimes, but that may just be me…

Interestingly enough, I don’t see this tablet on sale anywhere else, so this truly is the best price you’ll get it anywhere.

Shipping will be free from both stores, as you are exceeding the $25 free shipping threshold.

Kobo: Kobo Aura Just $89.99 with Coupon (Save $50)

Posted by on December 9, 2014 at 12:04 PM

Kobo: Kobo Aura Just $89.99 with Coupon (Save $50)

Kobo Books has the Kobo Aura on sale from $139.99 down to $99.99 right now. Use the coupon code siriusxm on your Kobo Aura order to purchase the Aura for just $89.99.

You can choose from pink or black. The pink sold out at one time but then was restocked so you may encounter that issue as it seems to be the more popular colour (or just has less stock). I just successfully used this coupon code on the Kobo Aura. I hope this deal holds out for a little bit so our Moosers can score a good deal too.

This is a popular sale device this year, and several other retailers have it at the first sale price:

  • $99.99 @ Chapters Indigo Canada
  • $99.99 @ The Source Canada
  • $139.98 @ Walmart Canada
  • $139.99 @ Future Shop Canada
  • $139.99 @ Best Buy Canada

However, none of the other retailers have it as low as Kobo does with this coupon code. You save that extra $10 and you will receive free shipping as well.

What makes the Kobo Aura a must have for eBook readers? Here is a rundown on the Aura’s features from Kobo.

Kobo Aura is equipped with ClarityScreen, a low glare 6” high res Pearl E Ink screen now boasting a stunning 1014×758 resolution for a print on paper reading experience even in direct sunlight

The screen also has a ComfortLight, which is supposed to be the most comfortable and even light for reading they have developed yet. For those reading marathons at 2AM, you want something that does not produce eyestrain and that allows you to read at night as well.

Reviewers are very happy with the Kobo Aura overall. As one reviewer at Walmart said:

I had ordered the kobo aura i think it’s amazing it’s comfortable to hold for a long time while reading and i am very happy with my purchase,… i am definately buying two more for my grandparents as they Love to read just as much as i do

I bought a Kobo eReader for my mother a few years back and she loved it. it was light enough to carry around in her purse, the battery lasted for ages, and she could switch between different books she was reading. In addition, books tended to be cheaper digitally than they were in a bookstore. I think eReaders make a great gift for enthusiastic readers.

Chapters Indigo Canada Cyber Monday Deal: Kobo Arc 7 Was $130 | Now $80

Chapters Indigo Canada Cyber Monday Deal: Kobo Arc 7 Was $130 | Now $80

If you are looking for an inexpensive tablet from a well-know brand, Chapters Indigo has a killer Cyber Monday deal on the Kobo Arc 7. Get it for only $79.99, with a regular price of $129.99.

My two older kids have this tablet, which I bought last year on sale for $20 more. This is a great find and this tablet is great for the young or the old. My husband often uses the kid’s tablets for gaming, surfing the internet and even checking his work stuff. Sometimes the kids have to fight to get it back from him.

I love having tablets for them as we often do long road trips and these are life-savers. The kids can play their downloaded games, listen to music and watch movies. I want to get them some e-books on there now that their reading skills have improved over the year.

I am not the person who takes electronics to restaurants, because I feel like we should be enjoying each other’s company, but it is also great to use while waiting a long time for appointments. We are getting my youngest son one as well.

While the reviews and ratings on Chapters Indigo’s site seem poor, in my honest opinion, we have had no issues with our Kobo Arc.

The issues that reviewers talk about are problems with the USB port. If you think that could be a problem for you, read what the reviewers have to say. Also, the description is confusing and I, myself was confused at first. This is only an 8GB tablet (which was completely enough for our purposes), but there is an expandable storage space of up to 32GB.

The Kobo Arc will also ship to you for free, as you’ve reached the minimum for free shipping.

Chapters Indigo Canada: Kobo Arc Sleep Cover Only $10 (Was $50)

Posted by on September 9, 2014 at 8:30 PM

Chapters Indigo Canada: Kobo Arc Sleep Cover Only $10 (Was $50)If you are needing a Kobo Arc sleepcover or would like a second one, now is the time to get it, as it is 80% off at Chapters Indigo right now. Regularly $50, you’ll get it for a low $10.

Not just a case that protects your Kobo, this case also puts your Kobo to sleep.  It also has an integrated stand for easier viewing and a clip that keeps the Kobo in the case securely. The magnetic closure keeps it closed.

There are a few unfavourable reviews of this product, which give it a low star rating, but if you read them, I’m not quite sure they are about the product itself. Two people mentioned it was expensive, but obviously, this is no longer true. $10 is a very sweet price for a cover – $50 is not!

Black is the only colour you can get this sleepcover in, but I think basic black is perfect for electronic accessories. While the other ereaders have cases in colours like silver and pink, they are also much more expensive, so getting black, even if it is your second choice, is not a bad thing. It isn’t like it is purple with unicorns.

As always, Chapters offers free shipping on orders over $25, so you might want to take a peek at some of their deals of the week and see if there is anything of interest you could add to your order to save on shipping.

Margarita blogged last night about the deal on Marvel Origins titles, which would be a great addition to this order, since we know you must love reading.

Source Canada: Kobo Mini e-Reader Only $29.98

Posted by on May 17, 2014 at 3:00 PM

Source Canada: Kobo Mini e Reader Only $29.98

There is a very hot deal at the Source right now, getting you a Kobo mini e-reader for only $29.98, and it is on today only.

The cheapest I could find this mini e-reader was $50 and I found it for as much as up to $55. This makes this quite a phenomenal deal. Like I said, it is for today only and I wouldn’t wait too long as it will sell out rather quickly if my deal spidey sense is correct.

The mini is the perfect accessory for anyone’s purse or bag, so you always have reading material ready. The screen is 5″ large, so still quite easy to read on, especially with it being non-glass and no-glare. It is a touch screen and the unit has built-in wi-fi so you are able to download even more books on the go or at home.

I recently took a business trip away where I took two flights and had lots of time waiting in between. These days airlines charge for any checked luggage, so you really need to pack what you can in the two carry-on pieces you are allowed. I had to take my five-year old laptop, which is quite heavy, plus the accessories for it and all my clothing and toiletries. My bag got quite heavy. Adding a tablet to it just might have pushed me over the edge. This little mini e-reader would have been perfect just to hold in my hand or in my small purse or even in a pocket. And for the price, it is a no-brainer of an item to buy.

You’ll also score free shipping on this one, as the cost of the item is over $20.

The Source Canada: Kobo Aura eReader Only $85

The Source Canada: Kobo Aura eReader Only $85

Kobo has put their Aura eReader on sale at a number of retailers and why all the prices are similar, your best deal will be at The Source, because you can add the coupon code TS942 at checkout and get another $25 off, spending only $84.99. The original price for this is $149.99.

This is a fabulous deal that I’m sure won’t last too long, so I expect to see some comments below with sad smileys telling me it is sold out. This blog post is almost a 2-in-1 deal post. You were already saving $40 on the Kobo Aura, but then you added the coupon code, which is $25 off any $100 purchase and saved yourself $65 instead. You can also come back and make any other purchase you like to get the $25 off something else. The coupon does say one purchase per person, but it is always worth trying out.

The Kobo Aura eReader (black) sounds like an awesome machine I’d love to have in my bag. With a 6″ ClarityScren and the latest e ink technology, reading on the eReader is easy on your eyes, day or night or bring sunshine. You can access literally millions of titles over the integrated wi-fi and even track your reading stats so you can pat yourself on the back afterwards.

You can ship to your local store for free and pick up your Aura there or you can pay $4.99 and get it right to your door. I like both options.

Chapters Canada: $100 Off Kobo Arc 10HD

Chapters Canada: $100 Off Kobo Arc 10HD

I’m very excited about this deal and very tempted by it! Get $100 off the Kobo Arc 10HD tablet at Chapters. This normally sells for $399, and is now $299. Here’s the thing, Best Buy has also reduced its price down to $299. Both are on until the end of the month. It is up to you to decide where you want to buy it, but this is a great deal.

As I’ve blogged before, I bought my kids two Kobo tablets for Christmas. I was tempted to buy myself one, but really want the larger screen for watching movies, working, writing and making recipes in the kitchen. I couldn’t fathom paying $400 plus tax for this tablet, but now with $100 off, it is almost irresistible to me.

Apparently this tablet has the world’s highest resolution for a 10″ screen, along with surround sound for a really great movie watching and web browsing experience. You can also do 720p HD videos on 16GB of memory. On top of this deal, you’ll also get three free kids books, and this is both from Chapters and Best Buy so I’ll assume it is a Kobo deal.

There is one review on Chapters that says they love their tablet, but weren’t at first convinced to buy an Android and now have changed their mind. Everyone is always talking iPad, and sure if you want to pay the $500+ for the larger screened iPad, or you can save yourself $200 for this one that does the same job without the iconic apple logo on the back.

Shipping is free on this item.

Chapters Canada: $50 Off Kobo Arc 10HD

Chapters Canada: $50 Off Kobo Arc 10HD

Get $50 off the Kobo Arc 10HD right now at Chapters, bringing the price down to $349.99 from $399.99. The Kobo Arc 7HD is also on for $20 off, but it is a way higher price than I blogged it last week at Walmart, although that one is now sold out. Nevertheless, the 10HD is a great price.

As I told you in that last Walmart blog, we gifted our kids two of the 7HD tablets for Christmas. They love them and I love them, but I personally want a larger screen so I can watch movies on it, look at recipes while working in the kitchen and because I just think the bigger screen is more functional for me. I don’t often see this model on sale, so $50 off is great.

With a 10″ screen, the high resolution provides a very rich display and there is also stereo sound. Everything looks really sharp and nice with vivid colours, whether it be for books, magazines, comics, surfing the web, watching moves and more. It has 16GB of memory and you can connect to a number of media with this tablet. It really is perfect for any use.

There is only one review on the Chapters site, but it is a fantastic review:

I just got this tablet today and so far I love it!  I never thought I’d get an Android tablet, but the Arc 10HD changed my mind with it’s powerful specs.  Images look incredibly sharp and the tablet is very user friendly.

Shipping will be free for this item.

Walmart Canada: Kobo Arc 32GB Only $98

Posted by on February 6, 2014 at 2:00 PM

Walmart Canada: Kobo Arc 32GB Only $98

Walmart has a fantastic deal on the Kobo Arc 7″ 32GB tablet, now only $98. The original price is not listed, but when price comparing I found this tablet for as low as $99 at Staples and as high as $369 at The Shopping Channel and everything else in between. On Black Friday we bought our kids this tablet, but only the 16GB for $99 and this was a really good deal at the time, so I’m going to say the price has gone down and the sale price is even better.

As I mentioned, our kids were gifted their own 16GB Kobo Arc tablets for Christmas. I think it is one of their most prized possessions now and they use them as often as possible. They watch YouTube, play games, Skype their relatives, read books and even do homework on them. At night you can find their tablets lying beside them in bed, to which I gently remove because I have a phobia of wi-fi waves entering their brains. The tablets are great for long car rides, restaurants where my husband and I would like to have an adult conversation, long waits at the doctor or other appointments and so much more. My kids love it when Nana Skypes them, rather than me because it feels so personal – she called me!

I think the price is great, especially if this is a tab for kids, but I’ve used their tablet a number of times myself and could totally get one for myself now. I’d actually prefer a 10″ screen, so I can watch cooking shows while I cook, but my husband thinks the 7″ is much nicer and easier to hold.

As you know, Walmart ships for free.

Kobo Canada: $70 – $100 Off The Kobo Arc

Posted by on August 18, 2013 at 12:00 PM

Kobo Canada: $70 $100 Off The Kobo Arc

I was actually in the middle of typing up a deal for the Kobo Vox (which predates this) when I found this deal and knew it was better. Enjoy $70 to $100 off the Kobo Arc at Kobo Canada.

The price depends on the size of tablet you buy. Here is the discount tier:

  • Kobo Arc 16 GB for $129.99 (was: $199.99)
  • Kobo Arc 32 GB for $179.99 (was: $249.99)
  • Kobo Arc 64 GB for $199.99 (was: $299.99)

I’d previously had trouble selecting the 16GB, but that error seems to be fixed now. All three sizes are in stock and are available in either white or black.

If you are wanting a cost effective tablet for back to school, this certainly is it. For the extra money it costs, I would go with either the 32GB or the 64GB if you love your music. I have found that my 16GB device is maxed out on memory all the time, and I cannot fit even half of my music collection on it, and that is without hardly any photos. I also like to put movies on my device for travelling, and the small size of my tablet makes that more difficult.

Enjoy free shipping with your order.
