This is the food processor we have – except we have a different colour. The three bowls come in very useful when you don’t want to mix all your ingredients. It has a 12-cup capacity which is just perfect for large casseroles. My husband makes an entire 9 x 13″ casserole with his. The ultra-wide mouth is a blessing – a lot less veggie chopping. I JUST finished my finals for this semester! My next date is with my stand mixer: we are going to whip up a bunch of celebration cookies! Just a comment on those last two features. The heavy-duty base is awesome because your food processor is never going to vibrate away on you. It really stays in place and feels safe. The clean touch control pad makes for really easy cleaning. There is no trying to pry stuff out from beside the buttons.

I am sure the cook in your family would love to find this underneath the tree. It looks expensive, it is of great quality, and you will only pay a fraction of the retail price! I think that calls for a glass of bubbly.

Oddly enough people have had trouble with their food processor and I can easily tell you how to avoid the mistakes they have made:

• 1. If the blade is on firmly, do not use your bare hands to pull it out. Use some protective gloves.
• 2. If the food processor won’t turn on it is most likely because the lid is not on properly. KitchenAid food processors come with a built in safety that if the lid is not locked on properly, it will not turn on.

We have a KitchenAid food processor and once we figured out these few simple things, it runs like a breeze.

This is the stand mixer I have. However, when I bought it only the grape colour was on sale, so that is what I got. I really love the Yellow, Ice Blue, and the Pistachio. Many of the colours are selling out quickly.

I own a stand mixer… Purple is my pride and joy. Recently I used the dough hook for the first time ever. I was making Pizza dough and it requires 10 minutes kneading. With the heat wave we are having right now, I am living off my Kitchenaid blender. I take yogurt cups that are near to expiring and stick them in the freezer. Whenever I need something cold I take out a yogurt cup, put the yogurt into the blender with some frozen or fresh fruit, and water. presto: a smoothy. Since this heat wave I have been living off ice tea smoothies. It is simple: 1 tray of ice cubes, about 3/4 a cup of water and a serving or 2 of your favourite ice tea mix.
