    iTunes: $6.99 Albums

Posted by Avigayil Morris on April 24, 2011 at 3:00 PM

    iTunes: $6.99 Albums

iTunes has put a bunch of albums on sale for only $6.99, including some of their chart toppers.

I believe there are others, but the main link was broken!

I am tempted to buy the k.d. Lang album, ever since I heard her sing Lenard Cohen’s Hallelujah at the Olympics I have been hooked on her voice.

iTunes: 69 Cent Love Songs, $8 Love Albums

iTunes is offering a great deal on the music of love! Get some fabulous love albums for only $8, and individual songs for only 69 cents!

Usually you will only find singles for 99 cents, so this deal is already shaping up. I took a quick look through and found a few songs I quite enjoy:

    • With or Without You by U2
    • Always by Bon Jovi
    • Firework by Katy Perry
    • Bad Day by Daniel Powter

All great songs, only 69 cents each.

For albums, they also have some exceptional deals:

    • My One and Only Thrill – Melody Gardot (one of my fav artists)
    • Crazy Love – Michael Buble (one of the few CDs of his I don’t have)
    • Illuminations – Josh Groban (amazing voice)

    iTunes: Greatest Hits Sale

Posted by Jodie Wilson on January 29, 2011 at 6:00 AM

    iTunes: Greatest Hits Sale

iTunes has chosen over 40 of the very best greatest hits albums and is offering them for a limited time only at either $7.92 or $7.99.  From big names (Michael Jackson, Queen, Jay-Z), to pop and rock (The Cars, Shania Twain, Aerosmith, Sum 41), and more (Keith Urban, Blondie, Depeche Mode), there is something for everyone’s musical tastes!

If I had to pick one CD from iTunes list of Greatest Hits, it would be……Britney – The Singles Collection, for $7.99. Yes, it’s true. I’m a Britney fan. I’m not saying this is the best greatest hits album out there, it’s just my favourite. I find her music has the right tempo for working out! This CD is priced at $14.99 on Amazon Canada, so you’re getting a good price at this iTunes sale.

I recently got an iPad and it is fabulous, and I have been looking for fabulous games to play on it! If this is anything like the Big Fish Games I play on my MAC, it is well worth it.

The current version has 4 stars out of 5 with 235 ratings, that is very good! The visuals look amazing from what I have seen (just look above). Have any of our Mooser’s played this game before?

President’s Choice: Buy a $25 iTunes Card, get $5 back in PC Points

Posted by Avigayil Morris on January 22, 2011 at 8:00 AM

President’s Choice has a great offer available right now involving a product you don’t find deals for that often: iTunes cards.Presidents Choice: Buy a $25 iTunes Card, get $5 back in PC Points

If you buy a $25 or more iTunes card with your PC Master card at any Superstore or other such place you will receive a bonus 5,000 PC points back, which is equal to $5. This is a good offer because you are getting approximately 20% of your purchase price back in points that you can redeem towards things like groceries or more gift cards in the future.

This offers goes until February 28th. It is a good way to get an additional deal on the music, movies, games and apps you download. Unless you are like me and risk buying cards from other people (which btw, my second attempt was a success!) this is one of your better ways to get something back on your purchase.

I am probably going to get one the next time I am at Superstore. It beats trying to buy them of other people! Presidents Choice: Buy a $25 iTunes Card, get $5 back in PC Points

iTunes: Years 5 Biggest Albums for only $6.99

Posted by Avigayil Morris on January 20, 2011 at 2:00 PM

iTunes: Years 5 Biggest Albums for only $6.99

For a limited time only, January 20 – 24th iTunes has stuck last year’s 5 biggest album’s on sale for only $6.99. So remember the year 2010 fondly while listening to your favourite songs from it.

Here are the 5 albums you can get at the peanuts price of $6.99 each:

Grenade by Bruno Mars is a fantastic song that if you listen to the radio you have probably heard. Excellent messed up love song in a way. Just The Way You Are is highly over played on the radio, but also a really popular song. Singles for these cost $1.29 so the album really is a steal. I am not really a fan of the rest of the albums, but their is a good mix here, from dance, hip-hop to country.. something for everyone’s tastes.

University Survival Guide – iTunes App Style

Posted by Avigayil Morris on January 11, 2011 at 5:00 PM

University Survival Guide iTunes App Style

I recently got sent an invaluable resource by iTunes, and I use that word rarely.. so it means something to me. While I was wandering through my weekend email from iTunes about the recent crap music and TV shows that are out to buy/pre order, and all the various things I don’t need and am not going to buy… I spied an icon that said University Survival Guide. Honestly, this guide applies to anyone in any sort of education, be it junior high, high school, college, part-time, or university. Being in university and trying to find a way to better manage my course load I checked it out.

The Basics: The University Survival Guide is a selection of 39 Apps compatible with either your iTouch, iPad, or iPhone that make your life as a student easier. They costing between $0 to $24.99. They range from fun stuff like Facebook, Twitter, Rate My Proff – to your note taking apps like InClass and Momento. There are your dictionary apps… and if you are writing any papers you will recognise the need for My APA or My MLA, whichever one you are required to abide by. There is even a Shakespeare Pro app, if you are having some difficulties (who doesn’t have problems with the bard?).

My review: So far some apps have been hit and miss, but the hits have been right on. My favourite app that I now couldn’t live without is inClass. I take notes on it, and I have them organized by term, class, date, proff, etc. It is simple.. effective.. colour coded. It is WONDERFUL! I will soon be buying My APA as I am a Psyc student, and we live by the APA law. Wunderlist looks promising but it is designed for a iPhone not an iPad so I am hoping to find an iPad equivalent. I haven’t made it through even all the free apps yet, but they do have some really great stuff there.

I highly suggest checkout out this list. If you have any need to get your life/schedule organized or need help writing this is a great list of apps.

Canadian Freebies: Dose Essential Music Mix

Today we have a nice collection of 15 songs for you free to download. This mix is compliments of Dose.ca and the National Post.

We’re rounded up songs from artists including Arcade Fire, LCD Soundsystem, Stars, Crystal Castles, and more. Download your FREE playlist on iTunes now!

To download you need iTunes. If you have iTunes, click the “Get iTunes Code” button to generate an iTunes Code. Save/Copy the code and then click the “Get it Free on iTunes” button. You will need to sign in to your iTunes account and then put in the iTunes code. The songs will then automatically start downloading.

Here is a full list of the artists – songs you will be listening to:

    • Arcade Fire – “Ready to Start”
    • Black Mountain – “Hair Song”
    • Broken Social Scene – “Texico &^%$*es”
    • Crystal Castles – “Celestica”
    • Delorean -”Stay Close”
    • Fol Chen – “In Ruins”
    • Gorillaz – “Rhinestone Eyes”
    • Kidstreet – “X”
    • LCD Soundsystem – “I Can Change”
    • Meligrove Band – “Halflight”
    • Sia – “The Fight”
    • Stars – “Wasted Daylight”
    • Surfer Blood – “Swim”
    • Ted Leo & The Pharmacists – “Even Heroes Have to Die”
    • Tokyo Police Club – “Boots of Danger (Wait Up)”

I have to say the songs were not my type, but then I am an old rock kinda girl and this is more alternative / pop music. However, Wasted Daylight had a sort of charm to it that was quaint and I enjoyed in my exhausted slightly incoherent Friday afternoon state.

Posted by Anna Waters on August 1, 2010 at 2:00 PM

Free iPhone 4 Case Or Bumpers

This freebie is really only for those of you who have an iPhone 4. There was a big furore about reception problems on the latest model of the iPhone, and Apple have decided to offer free cases or bumpers to affected parties.

You actually have to download a free app to your phone, in order to get the case, so it might be best to visit the above iTunes page from your iPhone, if you want to order your free case asap. Here’s what the landing page states:

If you are experiencing reception issues with your iPhone 4, you are eligible to receive an iPhone 4 Bumper or other select third-party case from Apple at no charge.  Download this free app onto your iPhone 4 and apply for your free Bumper or case.
