EXCLUSIVE: Jetsetter Coupon Code: $25 Off Any Booking, $50 off 2 Nights or More!

Anyone fancy a mini-break? If you want to get away for a day or two, then this coupon code might come in handy. We’ve set up an exclusive promo code with luxury hotel provider Jetsetter.com for a bit of a discount on your booking. The discount has two options – make any booking whatsoever (even if it’s only for one night) and you get a $25 reduction. Make a booking of two nights or more and you get a $50 discount. Here are the details:

Click here to use the Jetsetter coupon code online now

  • Coupon Code: JETMOOSE
  • Discount: $25 off any booking, $50 off 2 or more nights
  • Expires: 9th June 2015

NOTE: You must be logged in to your account in order to apply a promo code. You can see this in the screenshot below:

EXCLUSIVE: Jetsetter Coupon Code: $25 Off Any Booking, $50 off 2 Nights or More!

You only see the “redeem code” button when you are signed in and going through checkout.

With the value of this coupon code, it makes the most sense to use it for short bookings, as that maximises your overall percentage discount. There’s an alternative Jetsetter.com coupon code on our coupon page for a 5% discount on any order (SUMMERFUN5) – it makes more sense to use this if your order totals $1000 or more. The percentage discount of 5% would be a higher discount value than the $50. Use the percentage code for larger orders and our exclusive code for smaller ones.

To test that our exclusive Jetsetter coupon code was working OK, I searched for a single night’s hotel stay in Toronto. The Gladstone Hotel was $193, and the coupon code brought the price down to $168 plus taxes. You can see the discount amount as you go through checkout.

The Jetsetter website isn’t a portal that budget travellers would want to visit. Jetsetter caters to the more luxury hotel seeker, with some picturesque and amazing destinations on there. If I could have my pick of any hotel on there just now, with no budget constraints whatsoever, it would probably be something like the One&Only Royal Mirage in Dubai. Just look at the sumptuousness of the décor!

How to Save Money on Your Next Hotel Booking

Posted by on March 27, 2015 at 8:00 PM

How to Save Money on Your Next Hotel Booking

We all love to travel but with the higher cost of traveling and the higher US dollar, traveling is a lot more expensive than it used to be.  Additionally, over time, hotel prices have gone up (they call it hotel inflation).  This was especially noticeable on my last trip to Hawaii.  I was last there only a few years ago and prices for hotel rooms went up by 25% (from my observation and estimation) at least for the same time period of travel in the year (peak season).  Now this increase in hotel price didn’t make me want to jump and buy a time share or anything, but it did make me think twice about finding ways to save money on our accommodation.

Here are some ways in which you can save money on your next hotel booking:

It Pays to be Loyal

Signing up for hotel loyalty points is a great way to look for bargains or deals on a hotel room.  Sometimes when you sign up they give you a signing bonus (this is for credit cards usually) and you will then receive points on top of the points you spent staying there.  With these points you usually have enough points for at least one night.  Some card to look into are the SPG American Express (you get 20,000 SPG points when you sign up) and the Marriott Chase Visa.

Book Directly

The hotel that you’re planning to book through pays the flight aggregators (like Hotels.com, Booking.com), these websites takes a portion of the fee that you’re paying to the hotel when you book.  Instead of booking online, you can call the hotel and book directly.  All it takes is a phone call and an assertive, but not overbearing attitude and then voila, you will get a discount or some sort of incentive for your time.  This is because instead of paying the website, the hotels would rather give you discount and skip the middle man.

Apartments may be the Way to Go

Another way to save money especially if you are traveling with a group (for example, you need more than one bedroom) is to book a condo.  Airbnb, VRBO.com, Home Away… all of these are great condo options and most of them provide a small kitchen  for you to cook in to save even more money while traveling.  Definitely a win-win situation (cheaper rent for you and rental income for them)…that is, as long as you and the people you are traveling with get along.

It Doesn’t Hurt to Ask

Finally, it doesn’t hurt to ask.  Personally, I do this a lot whenever I check-in and it usually works most of the time (yes, I know, I’m shameless!).  Ask the front desk staff to see if they can offer you anything to upgrade your room.  Sometimes its just a room on a higher floor, other times, it can be an ocean view room (like in the case when I went to Hawaii!).  Sometimes if you say its a special occasion the front desk staff will be accommodating.  It surely doesn’t hurt to ask and the worst thing they can do is say no.  Most front desk staff don’t mind being asked… and frankly, I think they enjoy that power to that they wield to improve your vacation if they have the means to.

Book it Like You Mean Business

According to Lifehacker, one great way of saving money on your next hotel booking is to book hotels in the business district of a city you’re looking at during the weekend, and book hotels that are in the more “touristy” area during the weekday.

Basically if you go against the crowd, like most things in life, for example, even the stock market (buy when the people are fearful) you will save money.  Classic supply and demand scenario.  You can make that work for you in a good way.

There you go, hopefully these five strategies help you save money on the hotel portion of your next vacation out of the country.  Some of them are easier to implement than the others, hopefully they will help you save some money on your next hotel booking.

Bargainmoosers, do you have any tips and tricks that work well when you book your hotel for your vacation?

Hotels.com Coupon Code: $30 Off $250 Stay

Posted by on March 5, 2015 at 8:30 PM

Hotels.com Coupon Code: $30 Off $250 Stay

Are you planning a spring vacation over the next couple of months? Use this Hotels.com coupon code for $30 off any stay of $250 or more.

Click here to shop hotels @ Hotels.com now

  • Coupon Code: AFMARSAVE30C
  • Discount: $30 off $250
  • Expiry: 8th March 2015

The coupon code excludes select hotels (I have no idea which ones) and is valid for travel through the 12 of April 2015. There appears to be no blackout dates that I could find. If you are booking a more expensive trip, then use coupon code MARCHBRK35 for $35 off $350 or more. This coupon is also valid a bit longer than the above coupon and covers vacations into May. When considering percentage, the $30 off $250 coupon is better value and that is why I am focusing on it.

Booking your hotel through Hotels.com has several advantages. First, you use the nice coupon above to receive a better deal on your stay. Secondly, you sign up for the Welcome Rewards program. Stay 10 nights across any number of stays and any number of hotels to receive one night free.

Where are you going this spring? Between these dates, I will be in Vancouver twice. The first is for a Neil Gaiman and Amanda Palmer concert that I am excited about. It is on March 18th. The second event is for the Vancouver Comic Con on the first weekend in April. While I am not planning a hotel stay for the March event, the Comic Convention is long enough that a hotel stay will be required. I do not mind bunking on a friend’s couch for one night but three nights is a bit much.

Some hotels are excluded from this offer – but I do not have a list of which those are. I do know that the coupon is valid on participating Best Price Guarantee hotels. You can use the coupon code on a maximum of five bookings per account. There also may be a limit to the number of coupons that can be redeemed, but that is unclear.

I think this is a nice discount on booking a hotel as it is a bit over 10% and the nights you book with this coupon can still be applied towards your one night free. If you have any great hotel suggestions, please drop us a line!

Expedia Coupon Code: $50 Off $200 For Two Days Only (Expired)

Expedia Coupon Code: $50 Off $200 For Two Days Only (Expired)

Looking for a getaway? I just got back from one and my answer is still yes. Expedia’s got a great deal on right now that will get you $50 off your $200 hotel booking at most hotels with coupon code.

Click here to book a hotel @ Expedia.ca now

  • Coupon Code: FEB48HOUR
  • Discount: $50 off $200
  • Expiry: 19th February 2015

Your getaway doesn’t have to be far away, it could just be in your own city. With March Break approaching, you might be looking for a mini-vacation to the city near your home or going to visit friends and family. We are actually going to visit family in the city we previously lived in over the March Break. I think its important for cousins to stay in touch and my kids love hanging with their cousins. I want somewhere with a pool, so the kids can visit us at the hotel and everyone can have somewhere to hang out. We may also do a trip to Toronto go to the aquarium or the science centre. If the weather is good, we might even hit up the Toronto Zoo!

I have to tell you, there are a ton of exclusions for this coupon, but those are generally what I see with Expedia or other travel agency coupons.

Expedia Coupon Code: $50 Off $200 For Two Days Only (Expired)

An even better way to take advantage of this coupon is to combine it with Expedia’s 48 hour sale also going on, or one of their daily deals. I searched for a Toronto hotel for March Break and the Old Mill hotel came up. This is a hotel that I’ve heard rave reviews about and would love to take a night to myself with the husband to go there. I did search with kids included, so maybe they could come too. It is not a cheap hotel regularly, but with a 96% approval rating, I think it may have earned its price. Regularly $409 a night, it is on sale for $327. Once I added the coupon code it came down to $277.20 plus taxes and fees. Twenty people already booked this hotel on Expedia in the last 48 hours, so that tells you what kind of deal this is.

Of course, you can choose from thousands of other cities around the world, and you can also apply this to flight and hotel options as well. Check for all your Expedia coupon codes in the forum before you book any getaway!

Jetsetter Promo Code: 10% Off Hotels In the Caribbean, Mexico & Hawaii

Jetsetter Promo Code: 10% Off Hotels In the Caribbean, Mexico & Hawaii

Planning to get away somewhere hot this year or next? JetSetter has a fabulous coupon that will get you an extra 10% off your bookings in the Caribbean, Mexico and Hawaii. While 10% doesn’t seem like much, I found vast differences in price compared to other travel sites, making JetSetter the place to book your vacation.

Click here to get out of Canada with Jetsetter.com now

  • Coupon Code: SUNKISSED10
  • Discount: 10% off
  • Expiry: 6th February 2015

I just got back from my vacation in the South and it was wonderful. We didn’t have a bad day of weather and the temperature hovered around 30 degrees all week. It was a dreamy week of sand and sun with my family. Coming back to the face-hurting cold was super sad and I’m already planning my next vacation in my mind! Hawaii, as you might know from a previous post I did on flights to Hawaii, is definitely on the list of next vacations.

I decided to check out some prices of hotels in Hawaii and found that JetSetter’s price was fantastic.

Take for example the Mauna Lani hotel. I quoted for five nights from February 15th to the 20th in a garden view room. Once I added the coupon code, my price became $2115 total for all the nights. Keep in mind that this is a U.S.-based site so the prices are in USD. I compared it to Expedia where I got a total for the same nights of $3374.20. Even with the exchange rate, that is quite a difference!

Another trip I’d love to take is to take my kids to Atlantis in the Bahamas. I know its going to be expensive, so we need to save our pennies, but I was very happy to see that JetSetter’s price was lower than what I had previously researched elsewhere. After adding the coupon code, the Beach Tower for the same dates as above would cost me $2787.58. At Expedia, it costs $3726.89.

If I haven’t convinced you that you need and can afford a vacation, you might want to check out this video that shows you what Atlantis is all about. It has me convinced!

Before you book any vacation, look to the forum for JetSetter coupon codes.

Hotwire Coupon Code: $20 Off $200

Posted by on January 25, 2015 at 8:00 AM

Hotwire Coupon Code: $20 Off $200

Hotwire coupon codes are rather rare, so we are very pleased to present you with a $20 off $200 US coupon code valid on your next Hot Rate Hotel purchase.

Click here to book your next stay @ Hotwire now

  • Coupon Code: WINTER20
  • Discount: $20 US off $200 US
  • Expiry: 5th February 2015

As the US and Canadian flags share the same website, this appears to work for both Canadian and US customers despite the fine print saying “This offer is from Hotwire.com and is valid for Hotwire.com U.S. customers only.” When I was testing the coupon, it worked for me on a Canadian destination (Edmonton) reducing my bill by $20 US, which was equivalent to $25.30 CAN, on my order.

Hotwire bills in two different currencies. If you pay with your Visa or MasterCard, they will bill you in CAD dollars. However, if you choose any other payment method (Paypal, AMEX, Discover, etcetera), then you will be billed in USD.

Hotwire has some pretty cool features in many ways. I checked out one of their Hot Rate deals where you do not see what hotel you are getting but you choose the area and you choose the quality of hotel. I was looking at three-star hotels in the downtown Edmonton Area. Sure, you get your hotel assigned to you blindly, but I was looking at only $429.85 for a five-night stay after coupon. That works out to around $86 per night! That is a very good deal as three-star hotels in that area generally retail for $120+ a night. I am not even sure I could get a room with a separate bathroom through Airbnb for that price in downtown Edmonton. I might end up going with a hotel on my next trip out to visit friends and family.

While it has been a while since I stayed at a hotel, I have always found them quite the luxury. I especially enjoy the ones with a free breakfast in the morning. One hotel I stayed at in Seattle had a waffle maker, yoghurt, and some pastries as well. I think I ate $15 worth of my nightly stay just at breakfast.

There is a limit of one coupon per user account and per qualifying hotel booking. The $200 minimum must be before additional fees as the coupon is not valid on fees.

For this and any future Hotwire coupon codes, please visit our forum.

Up to 100% Off Hotel Stay @ Orbitz Canada With Promo Code (EXPIRED)

Up to 100% Off Hotel Stay @ Orbitz Canada With Promo Code (EXPIRED)

BUMP – this is active again but we don’t know for how long! If interested, use it NOW – it disappeared fast, the last time!

An increasing number of sites have been jumping on the Visa Checkout bandwagon lately, offering discount only if you use it when making your purchase and Orbitz is no exception. As part of their Cyber Monday Sale, you can save $100 off on a $100 or more hotel stay, but only if you use Visa Checkout to… you guessed it, checkout. If you happen to a stay for exactly $100, then you will get 100% off!

Click here to book a hotel stay @ Orbitz.com now

  • Coupon Code: VISACHECKOUT
  • Discount: $100 off $100+ hotel booking
  • Expiry: Unknown

If you’re looking to travel between now and June 30th 2015, then this is a fantastic promotion to take advantage of because you can essentially save up to 100% off your booking. The biggest hitche, however, is that according to their fine print: “most major chains [are] excluded” but I figured that you Moosers would want to know about it anyways because it’s always a try. You just never know when the code you plug in may work and any chance at a discount is always a great one.

Keep in mind that there is no set expiry date for this promotion as Orbitz simply states that it’s “available only while supplies last” but my guess would be that there are strong chances it will end at the end of today because it’s part of Orbitz’s Cyber Monday Sale. Anything can happen though, but do you really want to risk waiting until tomorrow and possibly miss this deal? Up to 100% Off Hotel Stay @ Orbitz Canada With Promo Code (EXPIRED)

If once you plug in your destination, you find a hotel that qualifies for this promotion, then you can actually use this Orbitz coupon code per person. So if you’re travelling with someone else or in a group, then each person can take advantage of the discount. However, there is a limit of one code per room.

The great part about Visa Checkout is that it’s a time saver as it allows you to just breeze through the checkout process without having to painstakingly enter your information each time.

If the Visa Checkout coupon code doesn’t work on the hotel stay that you are looking to book, then you can also try the Orbitz coupon code: TRAVELHAPPY to get a 20% discount on your booking instead. This code also comes with a couple of restrictions but the best course of action to take is to just try plugging it in at checkout to see if it works.

Hotwire Coupon Code: $10 Off $100

Hotwire Coupon Code: $10 Off $100

You really don’t see too many Hotwire coupons out there, which is why this coupon is special. Get $10 off your $100 booking on Hotwire with promo code.

Click here to book your hotel @ Hotwire.com now

  • Coupon Code: THANKS10
  • Discount: $10 off $100
  • Expiry: 30th November 2014

I found something quite interesting with this coupon code. When I added it to my hotel booking, it took off more than $10, and in fact took off $11.48, no matter the price of the hotel. I think this is because Hotwire is a U.S. based site and it is giving me $10 USD off, which is most likely equal to $11.48. Score for us Canadians!

The rates on Hotwire are already pretty reasonable if you really don’t care what hotel you stay in, you just want certain features. For example, I searched Christmas Eve in downtown Toronto. I was coming up with many three and four star hotels for less than $100. But, for the purposes of this coupon, we want hotels with a before total of $100 or more. This means we can go up a star or get more features and a higher regular price for our hotel, but still take off the extra $11.48.

The coupon only works on secret hot rate hotels, but don’t be nervous about using this feature. I know a few people (including myself) who have used this feature to score really great rates on hotels and were always happy with what they came up with. In fact, I have a few friends who can easily figure out what hotel they are actually booking, simply by researching with the location, amenities and regular price information.

I know there are many of us out there (also including myself) who will need to book hotels around the holidays to visit family and friends and what better way than to get a discount too. The holidays are expensive enough, why spend more than you have to on your accommodations?

Before you book any sort of travel, always look to the coupon forum for Hotwire coupon codes and sales!

Bed & Breakfast Promo Code: Free Gift Card

Bed & Breakfast Promo Code: Free Gift Card

If you are looking for an amazing gift idea for a new couple, a couple celebrating their anniversary, or just for someone (including yourself) who needs a little getaway, consider a Bed & Breakfast gift card. Right now you can use the promo code below to get yourself a free $100 gift card when you buy $350 in gift cards.

Click here to shop @ Bedandbreakfast.com now

  • Coupon Code: BIG100
  • Discount: $100 gift with purchase
  • Expiry: 5th November 2014

You might have to think fast on this promo, as its only on until the end of the day tomorrow. What’s also great about this promotion is that you only need to buy a total of $350 in gift cards, but you don’t need to buy one large gift card. You can split it up anyway you’d like. If you are an employer, this might make a wonderful gift for your employees. I’m sure they’d appreciate a $50 or $100 gift card for Christmas and you won’t have to tell them that you got $100 free. If they work for you, you are probably well aware that they need a break! Add a paid day off into the mix and that would make a winner Christmas gift.

Bed and Breakfast has places all over Canada, the U.S., and beyond. This would make a gift for someone who is staying close to home, or going abroad. If this person is you, you won’t mind saving yourself $100 off the total cost of your trip either.

Note that when you search for your destination, it will tell you if the inn accepts the gift cards. For instance, I love Collingwood and while I don’t really enjoy paying inordinate amounts to stay in the village, I could stay a night (or three) at the Pretty River Valley Country Inn. Normally $145 a night, instead of paying $435 for those three nights, I’d pay only the $350 I spent on the initial gift cards.

I noticed that Bed & Breakfast also has another promo code starting on November 6th, so if you are reading this a little late, don’t be shy to grab that promo code to use on your purchase. The free gift cards aren’t as large as this one, but the total purchase is less too.

Expedia Canada: 3-Night Getaways For $249 Or Less

Expedia Canada: 3 Night Getaways For $249 Or Less

Do you have big travel plans this summer?  Need some help figuring out where to go and/or where to lay your weary travelling head?  Look no further than Expedia.ca for 3-night getaways for $249 or less.

Choose from a long list of destinations, both within Canada and abroad for anywhere from this week to five weeks from now.  Some of the more popular destinations available within this promotion are Las Vegas, Orlando, Niagara Falls and Paris, so there is a deal to please every kind of traveller.

Has a summer girl’s trip been on your mind?  Check out this deal:  Save 45% from August 8th to August 11th at the Silver Sevens Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.  The 3-night hotel deal is only $93!  This hotel is reviewed at 3.7 out of 5 or 87%.  Stay about a mile off the strip at this hotel with a 2-level casino, a bingo parlour, outdoor pool and 2 on-site restaurants.

Thinking of taking the family to Niagara Falls, but want to do it on the cheap?    You can save 10% at Niagara Lodge & Suites  with a 3-night deal for $240.  Now I’ll be honest, this isn’t the prettiest hotel I’ve seen, but I know when I go to Niagara Falls, we are very busy seeing all the sights both in the falls area as well as Niagara-on-the-Lake, so we are just in the hotel for sleep.  I prefer to keep my accommodation costs low in Niagara Falls so that I can spend a little more enjoying all the attractions, so this deal helps with that.

If you have some frequent flyer miles burning a hole in your pocket, maybe you would like to check out the 3-night deals in New York or Paris!  There are some good deals to California as well.  I don’t know when these 3-night deals from Expedia.ca will end, so I suggest booking asap.

Travel Zoo Canada: $79 Toronto Hotel With 14 Days of Parking

Travel Zoo Canada: $79 Toronto Hotel With 14 Days of Parking

Get a hotel room by the Toronto airport, plus 14 days of free parking and breakfast for only $79!

If you are going away this summer or sometime in the future (for some reason I don’t see an expiry date!), this is a great deal for you. Parking at the airport is notoriously expensive. I’ve flown out of Pearson airport a number of times, trying both the park right at the airport way and the satellite lot with shuttle way. Both ways were expensive and the second option was also very time consuming. Waiting to get a shuttle back after a long flight proved treacherous, and even though it came every 30 minutes and my friend and I were the first in line, the shuttle went a little past us, the crowd rushed to get on and we didn’t get a spot! We ended up paying a taxi $25 to take us to the parking lot, which forfeited any savings we had made parking farther away. I was not too happy about this.

When I got married and was flying to Jamaica, it was January and I had a two-hour drive to the airport for an early flight. On my mind was that there would be a snow storm or an accident blocking the highway, essentially making me miss my wedding. Before you go thinking I’m paranoid, this actually happened to me on another trip where I got on the plane right before they closed the doors after sitting on the 401 for over two hours waiting for an accident at my exit to be cleared on a beautiful summer Sunday morning. I even tried to convince my friend to park her car on the side of the highway and we’d hop the fence and get a taxi but she refused. Luckily we just made the flight because it was on this vacation where I met my husband-to-be!

Anyway, take it easy, stay the night in the hotel, get up leisurely and have breakfast and let the complimentary shuttle take you over to the airport, while your car sits for free in their parking lot. The hotel is the Hotel Indigo, and it looks like the regular cost of this deal is $254, so this is quite the savings no matter how you look at it.

You’ll have to book by Canada Day but you have until the end of this year to travel. There are quite a few exclusions for this coupon, so take a look at this list before you try and book. Even with these inclusions, I was able to find a number of hotels that suited my taste and budget that the promo code was eligible with.

I am taking off a couple of weeks this summer to spend with the family and because camping wasn’t all it was cracked up to be last year, I think we’ll get a hotel at a resort this year for a few days. This coupon works perfectly for me at the Deerhurst Resort. It has quite a few amenities like three outdoor swimming pools, an indoor pool, golf course and even a children’s pool. One night in the summer is about $299, which is quite steep, so by getting $75 off of two nights, that really helps.

Toronto is also somewhere we typically visit in the summer, what with so much to do like Centre Island, the CN Tower, Ripley’s Aquarium and just because Toronto is so fantastic. I find hotels in the Toronto area go up in the summer, so getting a discount from Hotels.com eases that pain. We have typically stayed at the Westin Harbour Castle, but unfortunately, they are on the exclusion list.

You don’t just have to travel in Canada either, you can use this promo code for a number of hotels worldwide, and with such a long booking time, you can use it for your summer, fall and winter vacations.

Before booking any vacation, stop by the Bargainmoose forum for more Hotels.com coupons.

Get $20 Towards Your Hotel & 15% Off When You Book A Flight With Orbitz Canada

Get $20 Towards Your Hotel & 15% Off When You Book A Flight With Orbitz Canada

If you need a flight and hotel in the next while, check out this deal from Orbitz. Book any flight on their site while logged into your Orbitz Rewards account (which is free!), and you’ll get $20 in Orbucks to use within 90 days on any hotel booking. On top of that, you’ll be able to use the promo code they have out right now to get 15% off that hotel as well.

I used Orbitz to book all of my hotels for my trip to San Francisco earlier this month. Like a good bargain hunter, I price compared all of the hotel deals sites, including the Canadian ones and found Orbitz the cheapest. Their prices are in U.S. dollars, so I took that into account by using a currency conversion tool, which are easy to find online. I paid with PayPal and my hotels were booked and paid for before I went, at a rate lower than what the hotels were offering, had I booked though their site.

Right now if you need a flight, there are some good flight deals from Canadian and American cities. I do find that when you are flying to a U.S. city, flying from another U.S. city is much cheaper. With this deal, you need to register and sign in for the Orbucks program and you’ll get $20 in additional Orbucks to use for your hotel. When you book your hotel, check the Bargainmoose coupon forum for Orbitz, where you’ll find two different coupon codes for 15% off your hotel. This means that not only will you get a cheap deal on a hotel, you’ll get another 15% off, then another $20 (plus whatever other Orbucks you may have accumulated). Note that not all hotels are promo code eligible, so you need to enter it in when doing your search.

You have to use your $20 in Orbucks within 90 days of getting them.
