Canadian Freebie: Biotrue Contact Lens Solution

Posted by on April 23, 2015 at 8:05 AM

Canadian Freebie: Biotrue Contact Lens Solution

Bausch and Lomb is throwing us a little freebie that is perfect for your suitcase. Click the link and fill out a short form to receive your free sample of Biotrue contact lens solution.

Bausch and Lomb is throwing us a little freebie today that I am taking with me on my next trip. Once you visit the Biotrue website, they ask you to take the Biotrue challenge and test the product. When you first arrive, there is a short survey asking what contact lens solution you use. After submitting your answer, you are asked for your contact information to ship your free sample. A confirmation page pops up and your free sample is on the way. Biotrue states that you should receive your sample within two to three weeks. I also received an e-mail confirmation almost instantly saying my sample was on the way.

Biotrue is a combination solution for your contact lens. The solution mimics the PH level in your eyes and tears to give your eyes more comfort. This liquid tear solution is designed to help keep your eyes lubricated all day for the entirety of the time you wear your lens. This solution also disinfects and helps manage the protein build-up that can happen while wearing your contacts. I do not suffer personally from dry eyes with my contact lens, but know many people who have challenges wearing contact lens. A product that helps to keep tears between your contact lens and your eyes will also help ensure you can wear your contacts comfortably for longer. This solution is one more step to helping you keep your eyes clean and healthy.

The picture shows a sample size bottle of contact solution and a contact lens case. Biotrue does not specify if the contact lens case comes with the sample solution. I did receive a Biotrue sample for free in the mail last year and it did include a free contact lens kit, so I hope the same will hold true for this kit.

Requesting your sample is step one of your options. If you choose, you can simply request your sample and you are done. Or you can come back to the website and tell Biotrue if you felt a difference with their solution. Biotrue has a contest going right now that you can enter every day for a chance to win a $150 Spafinder gift certificate. This contest continues through May, but freebies usually only last for a limited amount of time. If you want one, grab it now!

Get the Shu Uemura Starter Kit (Worth $100) For $49 With Promo Code (FS @ $75)

Posted by on April 21, 2015 at 1:54 PM

Get the Shu Uemura Starter Kit (Worth $100) For $49 With Promo Code (FS @ $75)

If you’ve been wanting to try out Shu Uemura, I’ve got a good deal that will get you some of their bestsellers and favourites in one package at a great price. The Shu Uemura starter kit is regularly $59 and worth $100, but add the coupon code SHUPRISE10 to get another $10 off, paying only $49 for this set.

Lately, I’ve been wanting to change up my beauty routine. I always enjoy trying new cosmetics and find new favourites, like I recently did with Smashbox. I’ve heard nothing but good things about Shu Uemura, so now might be the time I take the plunge and try out their starter kit.

The coupon I mentioned above can be used for anything on the site, so feel free not to limit yourself, but you just need to spend $50. I thought I’d tell you about the starter kit, because it is fantastic deal already, but I’ve made it even that much better by getting you another $10 off.

This starter kit is a limited edition kit, so once it is gone, it is gone and there are limited quantities. It includes:

  • heart and flower by murakami s curler – I couldn’t find this on their site, but it looks quite a bit like this new generation eyelash s curler, which is $27 with a little chain and figure attached
  • TSUYA underbase Mousse – this mousse helps to conceal imperfections before you put on your makeup – $46
  • Tokyo Lash Mascara (black) – $29
  • Mini Gloss PK70C (pink) – $30 for full size
  • shu holiday make-up pouch – not on the site

You’ll basically get the whole kit while only paying for the mousse. This kit has varying reviews, but most reviewers think it has great value. Generally, people are reviewing the products in the bag, which you can also find on each product’s page. They also say the bag is different from what is pictured. Overall, every reviewer recommended the product, even if it doesn’t have a five-star rating.

I love the value of the set because even you minus the underbase it’s still a good price.

You’ll need to get your total up to $75 to get free shipping or pay $7 for shipping.

Schick Men’s Shaving Gift Pack Was $65 | Now $25 & Free Shipping @ Wagjag

Posted by on April 16, 2015 at 9:00 AM

Schick Men’s Shaving Gift Pack Was $65 | Now $25 & Free Shipping @ Wagjag

Get a nice clean, close shave today with the Schick Men’s Shaving Gift pack. This set retails for $65, but is now only $25. This deal also includes free shipping for this order.

My husband has sensitive skin and has tried almost every trick in the book to get a nice clean shave on this face. What he has found is both the shaving cream lather and the sharpness of the blade make all the difference for his face. This kit from Wagjag gives you both of those components and is a little bit of old school meets modern. You will receive a slick Schick Hydro 5 razor and a refill razor pack that gives you a total of five cartridges. Also included in this set is the Wilkinson Sword shaving soap and shaving brush. This combo will give you a richer, creamier lather than if you just squeezed some soap out of the can. For more details about why shaving brushes are amazing for a close shave, check out this article from Waremakers. Lastly, you will receive a three piece grooming set, which is a bonus little add on with nail clippers, trimmers and a nail file.

I took to the web to compare this kit. Well.ca has many of these items in this set individually. Here are the prices I found on the items in this kit.

That totals $49.56 for these items at Well.ca and does not include the cost of the 3 piece grooming set which they do not carry. Wagjag also factors in the price of shipping in the price comparison, which is free for orders over $25 at Well Canada.

At Walmart Canada here is the breakdown if you were to purchase the items in this kit.

Wagjag includes the cost of shipping in their price, which for this set at Walmart Canada is $4.95. If you could get all these items at Walmart Canada, the price would be closer to this gift set at $38.27. Unfortunately, the razor refills are out of stock and you would need to buy a bigger razor pack to have a comparable set. This price comparison also does not include the 3 piece grooming set, which Walmart also does not carry.

If you are unsure whether to grab this deal, consider the reviews on these razors. The Schick Hydro 5 razor has 730 reviews on Walmart Canada and still stands at four and a half stars. Here is one review:

Schick Men’s Shaving Gift Pack Was $65 | Now $25 & Free Shipping @ Wagjag

I would grab this deal now while it is still available. I can see on Wagjag that many people have already purchased this deal. You may want to get your kit before they go out of stock. This would be a nice little gift to stash away for Father’s Day, which is coming up in a few short months.

Bath & Body Works Canada: Free Item with $10 Purchase ($15 Value)

Posted by on April 13, 2015 at 2:00 PM

Bath & Body Works Canada: Free Item with $10 Purchase ($15 Value)

Bath & Body Works is back with a hot printable coupon code for in store use. With any purchase of $10 or more, receive a free item worth up to $15 with this printable coupon.

As I have mentioned before, Bath & Body Works generally does not offer these coupons that often. I am surprised this is the second coupon of this type in one month! It is also the best, in my opinion, coupon for Bath & Body Works as the value of your freebie is more than the required purchase. That is certainly better than a $10 off $30 coupon or a 20% off coupon.

I am interested in the new fragrance mists at Bath & Body Works. While they are designed for spritzing on the skin, they have other uses as well. I imagine spritzing the Cotton & Lemonade scent in my freshly cleaned car for a refreshing smell. Traditional scent and sanitizer products like Febreeze can be a bit harsh (and really do not go with leather seats). They also come in limited fragrances. A mist like the ones from Bath & Body Works would be nice to use in my car just before I pick up a friend for dinner.

While they cost a bit more expensive than $10, I am delighted by the diverse scent selection of Bath & Body Works’ candles. First, three-wick candles are great because they burn more of the wax and also give off more light. A single wick in a ‘fat’ candle just leaves you with so much unused wax. Stress Relief, Sundress, Bow-Ties & Burbon, as well as Vanilla Bean Marshmallow all sound like delicious scents! I love eating marshmallows, so I would probably choose that scent for my home – certainly for my bedroom!

My lovely Moosers, what are your favourite Bath & Body Works products? Do you have a favourite scent? It is just so hard to try all the scents that Bath & Body Works offers – there are so many! I really like sweet scents or spicy scents.

There is a limit of one printable coupon per customer per visit.

Well.ca: 25% Off Dr. Bronner’s Soaps, Balms, Lotions & More

Posted by on April 13, 2015 at 12:31 PM

Well.ca: 25% Off Dr. Bronners Soaps, Balms, Lotions & More

Well.ca is offering 25% off nearly the entire Dr. Bronner’s brand! Save money on soaps, balms, lotions, oils, and more.

The last time I saw a good Dr. Bronner’s sale, it was 20% off and the sale occurred quite a while ago. While Dr. Bronner’s is one of the foremost all natural brands, it is not often discounted on mass.

My partner uses Dr. Bronner’s Organic Pure Castile Liquid Soap  (TeaTree) as a body wash and hair soap all-in-one. The tea tree has cut down on random outbreaks of acne and the scent does not linger too long. Using the soap as both a body wash and as a shampoo means he would go through a small bottle quickly. However, we buy the 946 ml soap when it goes on sale, as it is now. Originally $23.99, the Castile Liquid Soap is on sale for $17.99. It is amazing how concentrated this soap is – it will last for ages!

Dr. Bronner’s soap is pretty legendary in the natural community… you can even find articles about all the uses for the soap outside the traditional uses. Dr. Bronner’s soap works as laundry soap and as a pet shampoo. You can use it for shaving, bubbles in the bathtub, and washing fruits & vegetables.

I do not use Dr. Bronner’s soap myself, but I do use another product – for cooking. The Dr. Bronner’s Organic White Virgin Coconut Oil is my favourite coconut oil for cooking. It has a mild flavour that surpasses several other coconut oil brands I have tried. I think coconut oil is one of the healthier oils for cooking, but I was never fond of the taste. Now, I do not even notice the taste with this oil. While the container is a bit small, I am willing to pay for Dr. Bronner’s quality coconut oil because of the flavour. Originally $16.79, the coconut oil is on sale for $12.59.

I have heard amazing things about the bar-form of Dr. Bronner’s soap. The next time I need soap, this Dr. Bronner’s Pure Castile Bar Soap  in unscented baby-mild is on my wish list. I tend to use bar soap, as there is no added water so the soap goes farther. With delicate skin, this sounds like a good soap for me. Originally $6.79, the soap is now on sale for $5.09.

Shipping is free on $29 or more.

Canadian Freebie: Garnier Clean Plus Facial Cleanser Sample

Posted by on April 12, 2015 at 8:13 AM

Canadian Freebie: Garnier Clean Plus Facial Cleanser Sample

Click over to Garnier today to claim a free sample of the Garnier Clean Plus facial cleanser. I would click over right away. There are a limited number of these samples available and freebies almost always go quickly.

I love a good freebie! Free samples are a great way to try new products that you may not have otherwise tried without any commitment. I hate when I take a chance on a product, and am left trying to figure out what to do with the rest of the bottle if I do not like it. I have found several great products that I now use through freebies. I  also stash some of my freebies away to have a few extra mini bottles for traveling.

Today you can request a sample of the Garnier Clean Plus facial cleanser. This is a 5 ml sample, which means you should be able to get at least two to three washes out of this bottle. According to the label, this new product is a makeup remover and lotion cleanser for sensitive skin. I also like the claim on the outside that this cleanser will dissolve waterproof mascara. I always keep an eye makeup remover handy to catch any leftover residue, but I prefer to use fewer products on my face when I can. This facial cleanser looks like it has some promise for my skin.

There are a limited the number of samples, only 50,000 total according to the website. They also mention that shipping should take roughly four to six weeks in most major urban areas. Those of you farther out in more remote areas may experience a wait that is a little longer for your freebie. I signed up with my information and right away received a confirmation page. If everything went well, you should receive a confirmation page that looks like this:

Canadian Freebie: Garnier Clean Plus Facial Cleanser Sample

At the bottom of the page are three printable coupons you can grab also. They include $1 off any Garnier product, $2 off any box of Garnier Nutrisse hair colour and $2 off any Garnier product in the Clean Plus line. It looks like Garnier  has also created makeup removing towelettes and a clarifying gel cleaner in this line of products.

You will need to sign in to a free Websaver.ca account to print the coupons. The applet should lead you through the process. I had a little trouble printing these coupons, as it kept telling me my version of java was outdated. The helpful link to fix the issue seems to be broken, but I managed to update the plug-in within my browser and print the coupons. Now to watch for these items to go on sale!

Burt’s Bees: Spring into Beauty Grab Bag Only $25 ($75 Value)

Posted by on April 2, 2015 at 6:30 PM

Burts Bees: Spring into Beauty Grab Bag Only $25 ($75 Value)

Burt’s Bees Canada has the most darling little Spring into Beauty Grab Bag on sale from $75 down to $25. You receive $75 worth of famous Burt’s Bees products that you are going to love.

This grab bag is loaded with amazing personal care products and cosmetics. In the grab bag you will find six full-sized products and a mini body lotion. The contents include:

  • Naturally Nourishing Milk & Shea Butter Body Wash – 350mL
  • Cranberry & Pomegranate Replenishing Body Bar – 140g
  • Ultimate Care Body Lotion – 170g
  • Brightening Even Skin Tone Moisturising Cream – 51g
  • Honey Bee Favourites – Pomegranate
  • Pomegranate Moisturizing Lip Balm – 4.25g
  • Naturally Nourishing Milk & Honey Body Lotion – 25g (mini)
  • Lip Gloss  Fall Foliage – 6mL

As you can see, this is a huge quantity of body care products for just $25. I think my favourites are the Naturally Nourishing Milk & Shea Butter body wash and the Ultimate Care Body Lotion. Milk and Shea butter is amazing for your skin so I bet this wash would leave my skin buttery soft and clean. This body butter retails for $9.99 but you can buy it on sale for $5.99 (separately) right now. One reviewer said:

Really great stuff here. Just like a lot of their other stuff, this is nice and moisturizing, yet light at the same time. It has a nice clean smell to it, that’s not too overpowering at all. It also lathers really well considering that it’s sulfate free, just make sure to use a loofa.

The Ultimate Care lotion features Baobab Oil, Pumpkin Seed Oil, and Green Tea Extract to pamper dry skin and leave you feeling nourished. Just a bottle of the lotion alone would cost you $14.99 separately.

Now, Burt’s Bees offers free shipping on orders of $49 so I suggest buying two of these kits and giving one to your sister, boyfriend, mother or other relative next time an occasion arrives. I will mention that the Burt’s Bees outlet has been restocked with other great deals as well. For example, this Energizing Peppermint Kit was $19.99 and is now $11.99. However, the Spring into Beauty Grab Bag is the best deal out of all the sale items so I wanted to feature it.

Bath & Body Works: Free Item with $10 Purchase ($15 Value)

Posted by on April 2, 2015 at 5:30 PM

Bath & Body Works: Free Item with $10 Purchase ($15 Value)

Bath & Body Works has a smoking hot printable coupon code for you to use this long weekend. Purchase $10 worth of items and receive a free item worth up to $15 with this printable coupon.

Usually, Bath & Body Works may offer a 20% off coupon code or even a $10 off $30 code (33% off) but their free item coupons are pretty few and far between. This coupon is actually worth 67% if you buy exactly $10 worth of stuff and get an item that is worth $15. It easily gives you ‘50% off’ as finding a $10 item you want at Bath & Body Works is easy.

If you are placing a larger order, then I suggest using this $10 off $30 printable coupon that we have as well. The coupons cannot be combined so choose wisely or send your partner in with the other coupon, point out what you want – and process your purchases separately.

Summer is coming and I am looking forward to doing a little travelling. I am heading out to my parent’s place in May, which is approximately a 14-hour long drive plus a two hour long ferry ride. Essentially, I will be living in my car. Thankfully, Bath & Body Works has gorgeous Scentportable holders and refills for making my car smell all nice instead of smelling like sweat and stale Redbull. I love it when my car smells nice, so I need to pick up a Scentportable kit before I head out.

On the road, you are going to touch many things. Most of them will not be clean things. The nozzle at a gas station, the door handles on public washrooms, and even the bags of chips you fondle lovingly at the station are probably covered in germs. Travelling is stressful enough without a few billion extra germs. Pick up some of amazing hand sanitizers from Bath & Body Works while you are shopping. I think Japanese Cherry Blossom sounds good but I would opt for Sugar Lemon Fizz instead.

These are both fantastic printable coupons valid for this ling weekend only. The $10 minimum is before tax, as is the $30 minimum for the other coupon.

Vitarock Canada: 50% off Aubrey Organics & 10% Off Coupon Code

Posted by on April 2, 2015 at 4:06 PM

Vitarock Canada: 50% off Aubrey Organics & 10% Off Coupon Code

Vitarock is offering 50% off all Aubrey Organics products including shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and more. With the coupon code MOOSE10, you will save an extra 10% on these already discounted products.

Aubrey Organics is a company I am familiar with but have to try. However, they are on my ‘to buy’ list as they are one of the rare organic companies who makes products specifically for swimmers. This Aubrey Organics Swimmer’s Normalizing Shampoo for Active Lifestyles is on sale from $14.40 down to $7.20. It is hard to find an all-natural shampoo that removes chlorine, neutralizes chlorine odour, and prevents discolouration of hair from chlorine. However, this shampoo promises to do all that and more. After coupon, pay just $6.48 for a bottle. I would most certainly invest in the matching Aubrey Organics Swimmer’s Normalizing Conditioner for Active Lifestyles as well – it would cost the same price.

I have been trying to get the males in my life more interested in personal care. After all, what goes on the skin is just as important as what goes in your mouth. Aubrey Organic makes a men’s line with plenty of products to suit men’s needs. This Aubrey Organics Men’s Stock Spice Island Shave Cream retails for $10 but is now marked down to $5. After coupon code, pay $4.50. I know many men do not use shaving cream, but it really reduces irritation and helps you get a closer shave.

I also like this Aubrey Organics Men’s Stock Natural Dry Herbal Pine Deodorant Spray and might even get it for me – who cares about gender. I really hate putting deodorant on yet it is certainly necessary on hot and humid days. Originally $12.20, the deodorant is on sale for $6.10. When the coupon code is applied, you will pay just $5.49. This is a great solution if you hate getting white marks on the inside of your shirt. A quick spray, a minute to dry, and you are set for several hours. Keep in mind this is a deodorant, not an antiperspirant.

There are a couple other 50% off sales going on right now. If you are shopping at Vitarock Canada, check out these sales:

It should be fairly easy to reach the $25 free shipping minimum with three great sales like these going on. The Vitarock coupon code is a standing exclusive code we have from the company that you can find on our forum.

Hudson’s Bay Canada: Free 19-Pc Gift Set ($250 Value) With $100 Beauty Purchase (+ Free Shipping)

Posted by on March 28, 2015 at 8:30 PM

Hudsons Bay Canada: Free 19 Pc Gift Set ($250 Value) With $100 Beauty Purchase (+ Free Shipping)

Do you need to re-stock on beauty supplies? Then you need to take advantage of a very hot offer at Hudson’s Bay right now. During the next couple of days, you can get a free 19-pieces gift set filled with samples from top brands like Kiehl’s, L’Occitane, Origins, Elizabeth Ardene, Shiseido, YSL and others. Valued at $250, you need to spend at least $100 on beauty or fragrance products to get all of these awesome freebies.

Once you add over $100 worth of beauty items to your cart, then the 19-pc gift set will be automatically added to your shopping cart. It comes with all of the following items:

Hudsons Bay Canada: Free 19 Pc Gift Set ($250 Value) With $100 Beauty Purchase (+ Free Shipping)

All of these are definitely products worth trying and using, but I’m actually the most excited to try the YSL mascara volume effect faux cil. Even mascara samples can last a couple of uses, just don’t forget that no mascara should ever be used more than three months because of the accumulation of bacteria inside the bottle!

The reason I’m stoked to try it though is because the full-size version of this mascara actually goes for $36 and it has fab reviews like this one:

The best Mascara I’ve used thus far: I’ve used over 20+ types of Mascara including YSL Shocking…this is by far the VERY BEST mascara I’ve ever used.

There is no mention of it there or in the description on Hudson Bay’s site, but this gift set also comes with a snake skin print clutch. It’s actually quite cool looking; you can view it once you click on the first link above.

As Hudson’s Bay automatically ships the vast majority of orders over $99 for free, then you’re sure to get free shipping on your order as well.

What’s great is that you don’t even necessarily need to buy a ton of make-up or skincare products to get these freebies as chances are, the purchase of a single fragrance would most probably put you over the required $100 threshold. Versace’s Eros for women, for instance, is just $106 for a 50ml bottle.

Vitarock Canada: Free Shipping & 10% Off Coupon

Posted by on March 27, 2015 at 1:30 PM

Vitarock Canada: Free Shipping & 10% Off Coupon

Vitarock Canada is offering free shipping with no minimum for three days only. Usually, Vitarock has a minimum of $25 most months so this is a welcome reprieve. In addition, we have an exclusive coupon code for 10% off your order. Just use the code MOOSE10 to save a few extra dollars on your order.

Combine the coupon and the free shipping offer with deals! I have heard good things about Greens+ as a health supplement. Right now, when you buy a Greens+ original (510 g) bottle, you will receive a free chocolate bar (valued at $9.99). Just add the Genuine Health greens+ ORIGINAL with FREE Chocosol Bar to your cart. This bundle costs $74.99, which is the same cost as the greens+ without the chocolate bar. After coupon code, receive the bundle for $67.50.

The sale section is ripe with great items to combine with free shipping and the 10% off coupon. This gorgeous bright Suncoat Polish & Peel, Lovely Lapis is on sale from $9.40 down to $4.70. After coupon, pay $4.23 with free shipping. I think this colour would look amazing with a pair of blue jeans and breezy sunshine yellow top on a hot summer day.

All natural mascara is hard to find; moreover, it is hard to find cheap. This Suncoat Sugar Based Mascara, Black is on sale from $16.60 down to $8.30. After coupon code, pay $7.47 for the mascara. Believe it or not, I have never ever used mascara! I cannot stand things near my eyes. However, I know my eyes look amazing when they are enhanced with eye shadow and such – so I think mascara would actually look pretty awesome if I could get it anywhere near my eyes.

Baby wipes are multi-purpose in a women’s arsenal. They work great for baby bums, for freshening up the personal area, and are great for makeup removal as well. These boo Bamboo 100% Bamboo Baby Wipes are on sale from $6.20 to $3.10. After coupon code, pay just $2.79 for 80 wipes.

I use protein powder in most my smoothies, which I have every second day. That means I go through a decent amount of protein powder in a month. This Tera’s Whey Organic Fair Trade Dark Chocolate Whey Protein is a new-to-me brand that looks promising. Originally $51.60, the powder is on sale for $25.80. The coupon code brings the price down to just $23.22.

As I mentioned before, anything you buy this weekend will ship to your home for free.

3 Ways To Save Money On Hair Care

Hair care can add up quick. Between the shampoo, conditioner, product, and visits to the hairdresser you may find yourself handing over quite a bit of cash to tame your locks. This great article from the Huffington Post that compares several women, and shows how much they spend on their hair per year. Annual hair investment varied from $900 to well over $10,000. The woman who spent over $10,000 compared her hair to taking care of vintage lace and called it her crown. While the high end of that example may be some extreme hair love, there is no doubt that hair care can easily drain your wallet. By trimming back your hair routine budget with these ideas, you can save yourself some cash every year.

Low Maintenance Hair Salon Trips

When I go to a hairdresser, I try to be clear about my expectations. Most of the time I want a low maintenance cut that will grow out well. I bring a few pictures from my favourite haircuts and hair days on my phone to illustrate what I am looking for. I am fortunate enough now to have found a hairdresser with a home salon that cuts back on the price of the services I receive.

Your hairstyle makes a huge difference as to the amount of hair maintenance you will pay in trims, colouring and product. Real Simple magazine has a great article with several low maintenance haircut ideas. Take some time, talk to your hairdresser and find a low maintenance style that works with your hair.

I love getting colour in my hair, but I tend to save it for a treat. Usually in spring, I lighten up my hair for the warmer weather. I stick to highlights that are not too far from my hair colour so I do not have to spend continual money back in the salon touching it up. I also love the recent ombre and balayage trends with hair that they are discussing over on Brit+Co. If you ask your hairstylist to help you create this trend using your natural hair colour as the base, it grows out easily without much upkeep since the top is darker than the bottom.

Cut Down On Washing Your Hair

3 Ways To Save Money On Hair Care

This is a tough one for many people, but your hair does not need to be washed with shampoo daily. According to WebMD you can skip shampoo pretty regularly, going up to a week between washes depending on your hair type. Shampoo can dry hair out, so skipping shampoo can actually result in healthier hair.

Allure magazine says the curlier your hair is, the less often you need to wash it. People who have straight hair need to wash their hair several times per week, as the natural oils in your hair will literally wick down your hair faster. Curly hair folks can go as long as a week between shampoo sessions.

I would not recommend going cold turkey when dropping your shampoo routine. Slowly phase out your shampoo to give the oil levels in your scalp a chance to adjust. I had an awesome hairdresser who really encouraged me to cut down on the shampoo I used. She suggested using just conditioner when I showered, giving my hair a fresh feeling without drying it out. I have managed to cut my shampoo consumption in half.  If you have trouble with oily hair while trying to reduce your shampoo usage, try a dry shampoo to help ease your hair into the new routine.

Cut Down On Hair Product

Hair product such as gel, mousse, serums and hairspray is a variable expense. Like many people, I found a combination of products I like and I tend to stick to it. The two Aveda products I like combined cost $62 and rarely are on sale. I used to purchase the products six to eight times a year, totaling $372 to $496.

Try to find an inexpensive product that works with your hair. For my wavy hair, I go to Herbal Essences Naked Volumizing Soufflé at $2.47 per bottle. I tried this product as a free sample and ended up liking the light hold. On normal days, I swap in my inexpensive product. I save my expensive products for the days I want my hair to look spectacular. Just from switching between the products regularly, I now buy the same Aveda products about three times per year and spend $186.

I try to grab free samples when I can to reduce the costs of trying new products. If you did not wash your hair that day, try wetting your hair with a spray bottle to reactivate your hair product before adding more. This allows you to use less hair product to style your hair on the second day.
