AARTech Canada: 25% Off Promounts Tilting TV Wall Mount (Pay $30)

Posted by on May 8, 2013 at 7:00 PM

AARTech Canada: 25% Off Promounts Tilting TV Wall Mount (Pay $30)
Your TV is sitting on a TV stand isn’t it? Well that’s caveman style. Modern humans hang their TVs on the wall and you can too thanks to AAR Tech Canada.

This mount is normally $39.99 but you save $10 so it only ends up costing you $29.99. Shipping is $14.99.

Seriously. Setting your TV on a TV stand is kind of old fashioned isn’t it? I mean, you almost had to do it when you had a big CRT Tv.  But the promise of flat panel TVs has always been the television on the wall that looks like a window. Nowadays flat panel TVs are commonplace enough that no one is going to sit on the couch and look at an image of a backyard and think it’s a window but I think the TV on the wall is still something people like. At the functional level it is a convenience thing. The TV is on the wall so there is no big piece of furniture taking up more space in your livingroom. But on a different level I think there is a certain satisfaction to taking control over technology in this way. It used to be that the TV was constrained by it’s size and we’ve conquered it in a way that lets us mount it to the wall, have it in our cars, carry it around in our pockets, etc…

This particular mount is good for TVs from 32″ to 65″ and up to 80kg. The mount tilts up to 15 degrees so you can mount it up high on the wall and tilt it down. Besides the home uses this would be a great way to mount a TV high up in an office or other environment where you don’t want people to be able to touch the TV but still want them to be able to watch it.

Dell Canada: $250 Off 42″ Sharp Aquos LED HDTV (Pay $550) + Free Shipping

Posted by on May 6, 2013 at 8:00 PM

Dell Canada: $250 Off 42 Sharp Aquos LED HDTV (Pay $550) + Free Shipping

It’s spring at Dell Canada and they have some great sales including this 42″ Sharp Aquos LED HDTV.

The TV is normally $799.99 but you save $250, which means you only pay $549.99! On top of that, shipping is free. Great deal!

I have a Sharp TV and I love it. It isn’t even an Aquos and I love it. This has all the stuff you’d expect from Sharp’s higher end line like an LED edge lit 1080p screen and all the appropriate connectors to hook up your game consoles, Blu-Ray players, sound systems and set top boxes.

But with this TV you kind of don’t need a set top box. It’s a Smart HDTV so it has a lot of the functionality of a set top box built in. It has apps like Netflix and CinemaNow so it really helps towards cord cutting if you’re trying to get away from insane monthly cable bills. It also has Wi-Fi, which I think is awesome. Not everyone has a wired house or a way to wire it easily. I have an unfinished basement so I can run cable wherever but if your basement is finished or you rent, it’s a real pain to run cables.

Telus Canada: Free Samsung 40″ HDTV With 3 Year TV + Internet Bundle (Select Provinces)

Posted by on April 28, 2013 at 4:00 PM

Telus Canada: Free Samsung 40 HDTV With 3 Year TV + Internet Bundle (Select Provinces)

Telus Canada (not Telus Mobility) is offering a free Samsung 40″ LED HDTV when you sign up for a three year Optic or Satellite TV and internet bundle.

This offer is only available for the provinces and territories that have Telus instead of Telus Mobility. For sure this includes Alberta and British Columbia. From what I could find, this also includes the northern territories like the Yukon, The Northwest Territories, and Nunavut because they go through the BC Telus.  It would just depend on whether optic or satellite TV was available in your area. My guess is for the territories it would have to be one of the bigger population centers.

So they want you to commit for three years to TV and internet – what are the most cost affective options?

The cheapest you can get the Optik TV + Internet bundle for is $79 a month. This includes Optik TV Essentials with 125 channels and Telus Internet 15 with 3.0 to 15.0 MBPS download speeds. The bundle also includes a free PVR rental and two free HD digital box rentals.

The cheapest you can get the Satellite TV + Internet bundle for is $77.90 a month. This includes Satellite TV Basic with 59 channels and Telus Internet 6 with 1.5 to 6 MBPS download speeds. This bundle also includes a free HD PVR and two HD receivers. My guess is that this will be the main option available for the territories and rural areas.

Both bundles include that free Saumsung 40″ LED HDTV. So, if you are looking to get a new cable and internet plan… this is a pretty good deal.

Sony Canada: $400 Off 55″ BRAVIA LED HX850 Internet HDTV (Pay $1999.99)

Posted by on April 28, 2013 at 8:30 AM

Sony Canada: $400 Off 55 BRAVIA LED HX850 Internet HDTV (Pay $1999.99)

How would you like a new 55″ Sony Bravia? How would you like $400? Get both with Sony!

First things first: if you’re reading this and want this TV even a little bit, go for it. There were five TVs on sale, and at this point one is out of stock and three are on back-order. Those three are still on sale but who wants to wait, right? Regardless, we’re talking about the one that is still available. I really like Sony’s Bravia line. I’ve not owned one, but if my wife didn’t get a better employee discount on our Sharp TV, I had a Sony TV on my short list.

The TV was $2399.99 but you save $400, so you only pay $1999.99. Here are the specs on the Bravia LED HX850:

    • 55″ LED LCD 1080p Screen
    • Network Connectivity including Skype, Yahoo! Widgets, DLNA and more
    • Four HDMI
    • Two Composite
    • Two USB

NewEgg Canada Coupon: Save over $300 + FREE Shipping on Sharp Aquos 39″ HDTV

Posted by on April 17, 2013 at 12:00 PM

NewEgg Canada Coupon: Save over $300 + FREE Shipping on Sharp Aquos 39 HDTV

Need or want a new TV? Well, New Egg Canada wants you to have one and they want you to have it for cheap!

Click to get your new Sharp Aquos HDTV @ NewEgg.ca

    •     Coupon Code: NOISE
    •     Discount: 10% Off Sharp Aquos 39″ HDTV
    •     Expiry: 19th April 2013, Midnight ET

First off, you are getting double deals here. First is $265 off the MSRP and second, which is applied when you use the coupon code, is a 10% discount. That’s an extra $38.50 off! So all in all, you save $303.50 bringing your total down to $346.49! That’s a pretty sweet deal for this TV. Shipping is FREE too!

I’ve always really liked Sharp TVs, specifically their Aquos line. Their screens are some of the better ones out there, again, specifically in the Aquos line. I’m fairly certain that other companies, like LG, buy some of their screens from Sharp. That in itself is a testament to their quality. The TV has all the standard things you’d expect on an HDTV – HDMI, VGA, USB, etc… It doesn’t have any smart TV functionality and, although that stuff is nice to have, I feel like most people probably have a PS3, xBox, Roku or some other kind of set top box that provides their smart TV needs.

123InkCartridges: Only $10 for Digiwav HDTV Antenna (Save $16)

123InkCartridges: Only $10 for Digiwav HDTV Antenna (Save $16)

No cable? No problem! Get HDTV for FREE with this HDTV Antenna for 123 Ink Cartridges Canada.

The antenna is normally $25.99 but for 24 hours only, you are going to save $16. That means you only get it for $9.99! That’s a great price. You can’t even get the cheap-o WalMart special for that much.

For the uninitiated, these antenna basically help you pick up the free, over-the-air (OTA) signals. Generally most places have CTV, Global and CBC OTA channels but bigger cities like Toronto have more. Toronto, for example, has Sun, OMNI and CITY, among others. These aren’t the cruddy analog things we had when we were kids either. There things broadcast in glorious HD. If you happen to live close to the border you can often get FOX, CBS, NBC, ABC, PBS and others.

A lot of people are trying to be cord cutters (I cut the cord well over a decade ago) and something like this can help immensely. Even if you only get CTV, Global and CBC, those channels will cover all the live programming and much of the network programming. Sports, award shows, all that stuff usually broadcasts on these channels.

Dell Canada: 50% Off LG 42-inch LED Smart TV – Now $499.99

Posted by on March 8, 2013 at 1:00 PM

Dell Canada: 50% Off LG 42 inch LED Smart TV Now $499.99

Today is another day of Dell Canada’s Twelve Days of Deals. The huge deal of today is this LG 42-inch LED Smart TV – LS5700 1080p 120Hz TV for 50% off, originally $999.99, it is on sale for $499.99.

The LG LS5700 42″ LED TV is a full HD TV (1080p) with more packed into it. It comes with a unique remote control, networking capabilities, is wifi ready, a Magic Remote Control, Smart Share Network File Browsing, and more. One of the great uses for this TV identified by users was for browsing the internet.

    About:

The LG®LS5700 Smart TV with Full HD 1080p, TruMotion 120Hz, LED HD gives you limitless entertainment and stunning pictures. LG Smart TV provides an intuitive, easy way to access thousands of movies, customizable apps and games all organized in a simple-to-use interface.

With LG’s innovative Magic Remote you point and click on what you want to watch. It’s that simple! Experience this and more with LG’s Smart TV. It organizes your home entertainment on one simple interface. Browse and share files from external storage devices to your TV screen, or access files from your PC, tablet or smartphone via Wi-Fi® with LG Smart Share. This is what home entertainment is all about.

I tried price comparing, but this TV wasn’t easy to find elsewhere in Canada. I found it several places in the USA starting around $700 on sale – but border fees and shipping would jack the price up substantially.

Amazon Canada: Save $150 on a Panasonic Viera 42 1080p LED TV (Pay only $650)

On top of the fact that you’re getting a great TV, you’re also getting a great deal and FREE shipping! Amazon Canada makes dreams come true!

I did some looking around and most places are selling it for about $800, although I didn’t see a lot of places selling it online in Canada. The reviews from Amazon.com give it a 4/5 stars and there are a lot of people saying a lot of good stuff about the TV. Here is one I liked called “Exceeded expectations” by C. Reach

Really great TV. Perfect size for my office/studio. Picture quality is excellent. I calibrated the tv using settings I found with a quick google search. Sound is ok, but as with most flat screens it lacks a really impressive on board audio set up. Xbox 360 games look incredible. I’ve been playing Skyrim and Battlefield 3 and am blown away by the picture. I fired up amazon prime (through Viera Cast) and watched Troll Hunter in HD. Again, beautiful picture (and awesome low budget Norwegian movie).

As this is sold via Amazon you get free shipping in Canada.

If you have ever been interested in a 3D television – it might be time to get it! Dell Canada has a huge discount this Boxing Week on a LG 42-inch LED TV – 42LM5800 1080P 120HZ 3D HDTV with DLNA 4 Pair Glasses! Originally $1099.99 this 3D TV is on sale for $699.99! You save $400!

A regular 42″ TV will only cost you a hundred or so less – so this deal is fantastic! It comes with 4 sets of 3D glasses so you and your family are all set to start watching some of those beautiful movies in 3D.

Some added details that sound really cool:

Sony Canada: Sneak Peek @ Boxing Week Deals Starting December 25th Online

Sony Canada has given us a sneak peek at their boxing week sales starting on December 25th online and December 26th in-stores.  Sale will be for a limited time only while quantities last.

This wonderful 55” Bravia LED HX750 Internet HDTV is currently $2099.99 and will be only $1599.99 starting Christmas day.  I did find it at Samys.com for $1498, but that is after mail in rebate.  Without rebate it’s $2098.  It is also at Calibex.com for $2631.99.  I like this deal much better. You get the sale price right away with no mail in rebates. This TV has 3D in full HD, built in Wi Fi, Sony entertainment network, skype and so much more.

They are also advertising this Ultra Compact Palm Size Digital camera that is $249.99 for $199.99 during the sale.  I found this on sale at Amazon.com for $224.99 and that was the next lowest price I could find anywhere for this camera.  This is available in black, silver or pink and has tons of great features.

I also saw these Digital Noise Cancelling Headphones that are $199.99 regularly and during sale will be only $89.99. I found these for $160 on Nextag.com and $193.95 on Amazon.com, so this deal is truly awesome, but this expires on January 3rd 2013.

Remember this is a sneak peek, so there will be more. For more Boxing Week deals take a look at the Bargainmoose Boxing Day dashboard.

Shipping: Free for standard delivery to most areas.

    Shop.ca Pre-Boxing Week Shop-a-Thon: Awesome TV Deals

Shop.ca Pre Boxing Week Shop a Thon: Awesome TV Deals

Shop.ca has some great deals on LED and LCD TV’s for their Pre-Boxing Week Sale.  Sale is valid for a limited time while quantities last.

I’m a little excited about this Samsung 39” 1080p 60Hz LED HDTV that was $549.99 and is now $398.99.  That’s 27% off, and at these larger prices, that’s huge.  This TV is the perfect size for my living room and I love the thinness of it, leaving tons of room for everything else. Looking elsewhere to price compare this HDTV, Sears has it for $670, Costco has it for $550 and it’s $660 at NCIX. That makes this quite a deal!

How about this 19” Hi-Definition LCD Flat Panel TV w/built in DVD that was $667.19 and is now 40% off at $398?  This is nice, with a 19” LCD screen and built in progressive scan DVD player.  It’s compatible with 480i, 480p, 720p and 1080i, has built-in speakers, a removable base stand and it’s even wall mount compatible.  What a great bedroom TV.

I also found this 32” Energy Star TV, LED, HD TV that was $449.99 and is now only $349.99.  That’s a whopping 22% off the regular price.  I love these last-minute sales.

    Shipping: Free on most TV’s.
