Chapters Indigo Canada: 50% Off Holiday Cards & Free Shipping

Chapters Indigo Canada: 50% Off Holiday Cards & Free Shipping

Chapters Indigo has up to 50% off social stationery, including holiday cards, which are 50% off. Chapters Indigo has also been offering free shipping with no minimum the last few days, so this is a great time to take advantage and order a very inexpensive box of holiday cards and pay no shipping fees.

I feel like sending holiday cards is a passing trend, which makes me so sad, because it is nice to hear from those who care about you. Sending cards is not the easiest thing, it takes time from your day and a stamp (which is going up), but think about how the receiver of your card feels knowing you are thinking about them at Christmas. I love getting cards, although each year I get fewer and fewer and I honestly don’t believe it is because I’m liked less. But you never know.

Chapters Indigo has a multitude of styles of cards from the cute to the classic to the embellished. Here are a few of my favourites:

Don’t think that it is too late to get and send cards. Chapters has super quick shipping and if you do them that night and get them out you have a chance of getting there by Christmas!

How to Save Money on Christmas Cards

Posted by on November 26, 2013 at 8:00 PM

How to Save Money on Christmas CardsThe holiday season is upon us and that means now is the time to start sending out your Christmas cards so they reach your loved ones by early to mid-December. Although this time of year can be quite expensive, here are a few ways you can save money on your Christmas cards without having to cut them from your holiday budget completely.

1. Design your own cards and get them printed in bulk

To save money on my thank you cards after my wedding, I took one of my wedding photos, added a nice graphic to it using Photoshop, then went to my local printer to get them printed. For about 50 cards it only cost me $30 including envelopes, so this would be a great way to cut down on costs for your Christmas cards too. If you don’t have Photoshop at home and don’t want to shell out hundreds of dollars to buy it, there are a number of free photo editing programs you can download such as Photoplus, PicMonkey, Picasa, and Seashore to get the job done. If you want to save even more money on printing your cards and you own a printer that can handle printing on photo paper or card stock, it might be worth it to spend the time to print your cards at home.

2. Take advantage of deals offered on online print websites

If you’re not much of a graphic designer and would much rather just plop a photo into a ready-made design, you can take advantage or some great deals, flash sales, and free shipping by subscribing to e-newsletters from online print shops like Mixbook, Vista Print, and Snapfish. This was how I managed to save 50% off on my wedding photo album and it might be the route I go to save money on my Christmas cards this year too. Bargainmoose usually has coupons for these stores in the forum.

3. Make your own cards with materials you have around your home

If you have a lot of craft materials at home like card stock, construction paper, paint, and glue, you can create your very own one-of-a-kind Christmas cards for a fraction of what it would cost you to buy some generic cards at the stationary store. For some ideas, check out the handmade cards shared on Carried Away’s blog or Kelsey Learns to Bake’s website.

4. Stock up on Christmas cards after Christmas

Although this may not help you this year, if you want to save money on next year’s Christmas cards then the best way to do it is by stocking up on cards when they go on sale during Boxing Week. This is also great rule of thumb to save money on New Year’s, Valentine’s Day, Easter, and Mother or Father’s Day cards too.

5. Go digital and send free Christmas eCards

If you want to send a nice holiday message to your friends and family but really don’t want to dip into your Christmas budget, an eCard is definitely your best bet. You can either send free eCards through websites like BlueMountain.com, 123Greetings.com, and eGreetings.com, or if you want to add a more personal touch, design your eCard and email it out to your contact list instead. Hallmark also has a subscription that costs only $1 a month for unlimited e-cards.

Bargainmoosers, what do you think is the best way to save money on Christmas cards?

ShutterFly Coupon Code: 12 Free Thank You Cards

ShutterFly Coupon Code: 12 Free Thank You Cards

I’d buy each and every one of you a thank you card for being so awesome if I could. With this deal for twelve free thank you cards, I’m one step closer to that!

Click here to shop thank you cards @ ShutterFly.com now

  • Coupon Code: 12FREE
  • Discount: Twelve free thank you cards
  • Expiry: 19th August 2013

I tested the coupon code myself and got twelve of the With Many Thanks Boy Thank You Card. Twelve cards were $17.16 (then I did it again and it said $14.28) but the coupon code got them for me for free. Shipping on this particular batch of cards was $4.99. Making the card was quite easy and very intuitive. It only took me two or three minutes to do it. Each card has its own customization points, so some might just need one picture, some, like the one I did could use three or four individual images. Their thank you card section is quite expansive too. Just in the Baby Boy Thank You Card section there are 71 different designs to choose from.

I’m not personally a big fan of cards. I don’t even like buying cards for people’s birthdays. My wife, though, absolutely insists that we get cards for people. I remember when we were first dating we spent well over an hour in the mall looking for a card for her dad. I almost dumped her right then and there. I should just get her to start buying all her greeting cards here in advance so I don’t have to spend 20 minutes looking for a $7 piece of paper to stick on a $50 gift every time a birthday or other card-worthy holiday should arise.

Check out our ShutterFly Coupon Code Page for more deals.

Greetly Canada Freebie: Get A Free Photo Card

Posted by on July 10, 2013 at 4:00 PM

Greetly Canada Freebie: Get A Free Photo Card

Greetly is a system powered by Blacks, that creates photo cards from your Facebook photos. Right now, they are offering a free card for a limited time.

You do need a Facebook account to get this deal, as you’ll have to sign in with your account. They’ll ask to post to your friends on your behalf, but I always say no to this. I do find this service a tad bit creepy, but useful all the same.

Basically, you choose a friend with an upcoming birthday. Greetly will show you all of your friend’s upcoming birthdays, then it will show you the pictures they have posted, which you have access to. You can make your card from their photos (that is the creepy part). I wouldn’t suggest making one for a random acquaintance on Facebook, because they might get weird-ed out that you used their photos, but for someone close to you, it might be an awesome idea. The person also has to allow photo-sharing, which as I found out, my mother-in-law who has an upcoming birthday, does not.

Once you’ve gotten a hold of their photos, simply choose the ones you like best for the card and amend your greeting. You can ship it to yourself or your recipient and shipping is free. If you want to purchase additional cards, they are $2.99.

Walmart Photo Centre Canada: Greeting Cards For Mom Only $1

Posted by on April 30, 2013 at 7:00 PM

Walmart Photo Centre Canada: Greeting Cards For Mom Only $1

For only $1, you can make Mom a personalized greeting card at Walmart Canada online.

You could go to the drug store and search through hundreds of cards with just the right words on it to give to your Mom. Then you’d pay over $5 for that card, which really isn’t truly your own sentiment and the picture of flowers on the front means absolutely nothing. Or, you could make your own greeting card, with your own simple wording and your own photos, so Mom knows you actually made more of an effort than licking an envelope. Plus, this only costs $1 and will be ready in one hour.

Basically, you’ll choose a template for a 4×8 greeting card, upload your photos, add them to the card, and add a caption in your choice of font. Once you’ve finished your gorgeous card, you can choose to pick it up from your local store or have it delivered for only $2. Having it delivered is a great idea, especially if you live far enough away from your Mom that you can’t be there to give it to her yourself. I’d also love getting this card in the mail from my kids as a little surprise (hint, hint, to all the husbands out there).

They don’t just have Mother’s Day cards, but a wide selection of greeting cards to choose from as well.

Black’s Canada: Custom Photo Card Only $5.99 Delivered Right To Mom

Posted by on April 19, 2013 at 8:00 PM

Blacks Canada: Custom Photo Card Only $5.99 Delivered Right To Mom

For only $5.99 including shipping, you can make a custom photo card with six photos and have it delivered right to your intended.

You aren’t going to get much better than this for a greeting for mom. Although those $4 cards you get from Hallmark are lovely and sentimental, nothing beats your own work and your own memories. Plus, this may end up being even cheaper once you add a stamp to your pre-made card.

It is also so simple to do. You just upload your photos from Facebook or Instagram or your computer, choose your cover stencil and wording and Black’s will print you out an accordion cord, put it in envelope and send it to your special person (in this case it could be Mom!). It takes about three to four business days to get the card sent out so don’t wait too long.

You know it will be good quality because Black’s in my opinion is simply the best for photo printing. You don’t even have to remember to send the card.

Carlton Cards Canada Printable Coupon: Save $2 When You Buy 2

Just in time for Father’s Day! Save $2 at Carlton Cards when you buy 2 cards until 4th July, 2011.

The coupon can be used on single cards only from the following brands: Carlton Cards, American Greetings and Entre Nous.

I hate to spend too much on cards when, inevitably they will end up in the trash in a few days. I usually get my kids to make cards of their own or let them pick out cards from the cheap section! However, there are times when I don’t mind spending a bit more on cards. This coupon will be coming with me to pick up some wedding cards!

Free stuff: Hallmark cards free samples – order up to 10 for free!

Posted by on August 26, 2008 at 3:16 PM

This sounds like a good freebie!! Hallmark Cards are offering you up to 10 free samples of their greeting cards. You can order them online. Firstly, go to Hallmark, then click through to select an individual card. Then you’ll see a little link underneath the card saying “request a sample card”. Click that and enter your details.

Free stuff: Hallmark cards free samples – order up to 10 for free!

These are completely free and you don’t even have to pay the shipping charges within Canada! One possible drawback – I’ve read on other forums that they stick “sample” on some of the cards, so there is a chance you might get 1 or 2 of those.

If I gave one of the sample ones to one of my family members, they’d probably laugh, knowing how much of a bargain-hunter I can be!! I love getting stuff for free!
