Best Buy & Future Shop: Samsung Galaxy Gear Smartwatch $99.99 (Save $100)

Best Buy & Future Shop: Samsung Galaxy Gear Smartwatch $99.99 (Save $100)

Best Buy Canada and Future Shop are selling the Samsung Galaxy Gear Smartwatch for $99.99 which is $100 off the regular price.

If you want this deal, get on it very very quickly as there is a limited quantity and they are selling out super fast. The black, ivory, and grey are already sold out but these sister stores still have several of the orange left in stock.

This smartwatch is amazing. It tracks your activity, takes photos, and syncs with your devices using Bluetooth 4.0. You can use it as a TV to stream content, as a compact GPS to find your way, and also as a watch. Fancy that. One reviewer said:

It makes life easier than taking out my phone each time, Also since the update the notifications are fabulous, add in the ability to control my music and answer/ decline phone calls, what else to I need. The camera is a welcome plus for capturing complex numbers and or reference items.

Future Shop Canada: Paderno ProGourmet Cookware Set Now $189.99

Posted by on March 14, 2014 at 11:00 PM

Future Shop Canada: Paderno ProGourmet Cookware Set Now $189.99

Future Shop Canada is selling the Paderno 12-Piece ProGourmet Cookware Set in Stainless Steel for $189.99 which they claim saves you $560 off the original price.

I use the word they ‘claim’ for a reason: because no one I could find actually sells it for the full ‘original’ price. I found a secondary seller on Amazon that was selling it for $370 but that is about as close as I got to that high of a price anymore for this set. The real price comparison is best with Costco.ca which currently sells the Paderno ProGourmet set for $239.99 which includes shipping and handling. Now, Future Shop’s price is better than Costco’s price by $50 so I believe this is a good deal.

The set includes:

  • 1.5L, 2L and 3L saucepans
  • 5L Dutch oven
  • 3L sauté pan
  • 24cm fry pan
  • 5 covers
  • 1 steamer insert

The set is suitable for all sources of heat including induction and it is dishwasher safe. The set is also backed by Paderno’s unusual 25 year warranty.

You will receive free shipping on this set because it costs over $20.

Future Shop: Philips Shoqbox Bluetooth Speaker $70 (Save $60)

Future Shop Canada has a really fantastic deal on the Philips Shoqbox Bluetooth Speaker With Wi-Fi (SB7220/37) – Green. Originally $129.99 it is now on sale for $69.99.

They are already sold out in the black version so green is your only choice. These speakers are pretty awesome for anyone who can be a bit hard on their electronics. The Shoqbox is splash-proof and drop-proof so you can take it with you on the go and not worry about breaking your precious speaker system. It is also very compact, uses bluetooth so you can stream your music wirelessly, has two built in speakers for a deep rich sound, and when you put two of these speaker systems side-by-side you can use them simultaneously.

This device also has a swipe sensor to skip songs, or if you place your hand over the sensor for a second you can make the music play or pause which is super cool. The battery is built-in and rechargeable so you don’t have to worry about bringing along fresh batteries. Just give it a good charge before you want to take it out to play.

Future Shop Canada: Save on iTunes Cards (In Store)

Future Shop Canada: Save on iTunes Cards (In Store)

Future Shop is offering a couple really nice deals on iTunes cards and multi-packs. This is an in store deal only so might want to drop by Future Shop this weekend to save some dough.

There are three deals being offered this weekend. You can view the three deals online but you can only buy them in person.

First off, get the iTunes $60 Multipack Card for only $51. You save $9 on the pack. This is a four pack of $15 cards so they are great to split up and give as birthday gifts to your friends or thank you gifts.

Secondly, you can get the iTunes $50 Card for just $42.50. You save $7.50. This is only one card so you won’t be splitting this baby up. Makes a pretty nice gift for yourself or for a loved one. Lastly, you can also get this iTunes $100 Card for just $85. You save $15 on the deal. This is also a singular card and makes one impressive gift if you are looking to really spoil someone who buys a lot on iTunes.

The last time the $100 iTunes card went on sale my husband bought it for me and I have to say I was shocked and pretty darn excited. It is a wonderful gift to receive!

Future Shop Canada: Bodum Assam Tea Press Only $18 (Was $30)

Posted by on February 13, 2014 at 1:30 PM

Future Shop Canada: Bodum Assam Tea Press Only $18 (Was $30)

Today only, get the Bodum Assam tea press for only $17.99 at Future Shop, with a full price of $30. Also, get 30% off select kettles to boil the water for your tea.

I have the Bodum Assam tea press and if I could ask one kitchenware item to be my Valentine, it would be this one. I love it so much that I made a tea as soon as I saw this deal. It is good. Not just a pretty gift, this item is very useful. You have full control over the steep of your tea. Little did I know that you should stop the steeping after a certain time or the tea gets bitter. I would have thought the longer the better, but this is not so. So, you put in your tea, add your water and check the package of tea for how long the tea should steep. Once the time is up, you simply push the press down to stop the steep.

You can use loose leaf tea or tea bags and the really cool part is that you can recycle the tea and use it again. I did not know that! You can also share your tea with 2 or 3 other people or keep it all to yourself while you laugh a wicked laugh. That’s what I do.

If you don’t have a kettle and boil your water in a pot like I do, good for you. But if you are getting really sick of this like I am, check out the sale on electric kettles, now 30% off.

Shipping is free once you spend $20 so you might want to pony up another few dollars for something else to save your shipping costs.

Future Shop Canada: Sonax Queen Platform Bed $170 (Save $130)

Posted by on February 7, 2014 at 10:00 PM

Future Shop Canada: Sonax Queen Platform Bed $170 (Save $130)

Future Shop Canada has a great deal on the Sonax Queen Platform Bed Frame in black this weekend. Originally $299.99, the bed is now on sale for $169.99.

So this baby has a low profile design. You have a headboard and a footboard but they aren’t in your face. This is a platform frame so it can be used with or without a box spring. This gives you the option of not even buying a box spring which will save you money there. It fits standard queen size mattresses and has wooden slats for support. It is also black so will look good with pretty much any decor.

I did a little price comparing. I found a seller through Amazon Canada selling it for $322.99 and I found it at Staples for $269.94. Newegg.ca was $229.99 with $69.99 shipping (ouch) and even BestBuy was $189.99. So Future Shop comes out on top with the best price of them all.

Get free shipping on this elevated bed frame as it costs over $20. There are limited quantity available.

Future Shop & Best Buy Canada: Eddie Bauer Double-Up Stroller Now $99 (Save $130)

Posted by on February 3, 2014 at 7:00 PM

Future Shop & Best Buy Canada: Eddie Bauer Double Up Stroller Now $99 (Save $130)

Hurry because if you’re in need of a new stroller, you could save an incredible $130 on the Eddie Bauer double-up standard stroller and get it for just $99.99 (reg. $229.99) at either Future Shop or Best Buy Canada.

Already have a child and have a second one on the way? Then I suggest you take a moment to consider this super stroller since it can comfortably fit a child in the front and an infant car seat in the back. Plus, it even has storage space on the bottom, two covered cup holders and a canopy to protect from the rain.

Although it’s available at its full price at Sears.ca, here’s what one reviewer pointed out about this stroller:

I wanted to buy a double stroller where my newborn could be right in front of me and my older daughter could sit in the front and then would also still be able to be a sit and stand stroller as oppose to most where my newborn would be in the front.
This stroller was everything I wanted and I love it. It easier to steer then alot of double strollers. Also there is a sunshade that you can’t see in the picture but it is just under the cup/storage holder for you to connect to the carseat.
The only downside and it’s not such a down if you know what to do, is when you fold it up you need the pull the stroller toward you so the front wheels stay straight and fit into the stroller. Other then that I LOVE IT.

As always, since free shipping is available at both Future Shop and Best Buy on purchases over $20, this stroller will be shipped for free.

Best Buy & Future Shop Canada: Cuisinart 5.5 Qrt Stand Mixer Now $250 (Save $250)

Posted by on February 2, 2014 at 1:30 PM

Best Buy & Future Shop Canada: Cuisinart 5.5 Qrt Stand Mixer Now $250 (Save $250)

Best Buy and Future Shop Canada both have the Cuisinart 12-Speed 800 Watt Stand Mixer in white on sale for $249.99 (save $250). Quantities are limited on both websites so buy sooner rather than later.

If the stand mixer is sold out at one place then you might want to see if the other still has it in stock.

I price compared the mixer with The Bay Canada which also has it on sale from $429.99 down to $343.99. While the starting price is lower than Best Buy or Future Shop’s starting price, the sale price is still much higher than theirs as well.

The stand mixer includes a mixing paddle, chef’s whisk, dough hook, and splash-guard. The bowl has a 5.5 quart capacity and the twelve speeds are powered by a 800 watt motor. The Cuisinart stand mixer also features a countdown timer that will automatically shut-off your mixing for perfect results.

Enjoy free shipping on this stand mixer as it costs over $20.

Future Shop Canada: 50% Off TV Wall Mount – Now $50

Posted by on January 20, 2014 at 11:30 PM

Future Shop Canada: 50% Off TV Wall Mount Now $50

This Rocketfish 32″ – 70″ Tilting Flat-Panel TV Wall Mount is on sale for $49.99, down from $99.99, at Future Shop Canada.

I tried to price compare but I just couldn’t find this wall mount anywhere but Best Buy which, of course, has it on sale for the same price (as they are sister companies). Other wall mounts for the same size TVs usually run upwards of $100 so I was pretty sure this was a good deal.

The mount supports pretty much the full gambit of flat screen TV sizes you might own or be interested in buying. It can handle up to 130 lbs. You may think that isn’t very much for a huge electronic device but it is very generous. I once weighed our Sony flat-screen 42″ TV and he came in at around 55lbs. You should have no problem with the larger TVs with this generous a weight allowance. Just make sure to anchor that baby to the wall really well.

Future Shop offers free shipping on orders of $20 or more so your TV mount will ship for free.

Best Buy & Future Shop Canada: LifeCore Fitness Rowing Machine Only $650

Posted by on January 10, 2014 at 3:00 PM

Best Buy & Future Shop Canada: LifeCore Fitness Rowing Machine Only $650

Best Buy and Future Shop have a great deal on a LifeCore Fitness rowing machine, now only $649.99, was $749.99.

Best Buy and Future Shop usually have the same deals because they are basically the same store, and this deal is no different. If it sells out at one, then you can get it at the other, or choose your favourite store. Either way, you’ll save $100 on this piece of fitness equipment.

We’ve blogged elliptical trainers, bikes, treadmills, the treadclimber, weight sets and more so far this January, so you know the focus right now is on health and well being where sales are concerned. What’s great about the rowing machine is that it is a whole body workout, which targets many of your muscle groups, including your core.

With air and magnetic resistance, you can up the challenge by six levels, and the harder you go, the more the machine cools you down with an air-vented breeze. There are automated race programs, so you can feel like you really are rowing a boat and beating the green team. A large LCD screen displays all the pertinent info you need, like how much longer until I can get off this thing? The machine is durable and supportive with a solid steel frame, but folds up easily so you can pull it on its transport wheels into storage when you need the extra space. Think of it as an added workout.

Walmart sells this baby for $798, and besides that, I could only find it at Amazon.com for $799, so this is a definite deal.

Shipping is free at both stores.

Future Shop Canada: 50% Off Philips Sonicare Essence Toothbrush – Now $40

Posted by on January 7, 2014 at 10:30 PM

Future Shop Canada: 50% Off Philips Sonicare Essence Toothbrush Now $40

Future Shop has a really great deal on this Philips Sonicare Essence Toothbrush. Originally $79.99 the electric toothbrush is now only $39.99.

So I did a little price comparing. The toothbrush costs $89.99 at Well.ca. At Walmart Canada the toothbrush is on sale; however, it still costs $49.96 which is around $10 more expensive than the toothbrush at Future Shop Canada.

The toothbrush features an angled brush to get at harder to reach areas like the sides of your back teeth. Most people don’t brush their teeth for nearly long enough, I am totally guilty of that, so the toothbrush has a two-minute timer to let you know when you should stop.

I haven’t used an electric toothbrush in years because of my TMJ yet my husband and my mother are devoted fans of the electric toothbrush. My father-in-law is the most devoted tooth brusher I have ever met and he actually does brush his teeth after every meal. He even brings a manual toothbrush for when he eats out. Oral hygiene is important at any age!

This item will ship for free because it costs over $20.

FutureShop: Lime Green Fitbit Flex for $80 (Save $20) – Expired

Posted by on January 2, 2014 at 10:30 AM

FutureShop: Lime Green Fitbit Flex for $80 (Save $20) Expired

Get fit, sleep better and quantify your self with a FitBit Flex from FutureShop!

Groan. Grrooooaaannnn!! I hate the term quantified self and I’m not overly excited about the concept either but there are a pant load, a variable cornucopia, of people who are all up ons the quantified self.

So what is the quantified self, anyway? Basically it’s the concept of knowing everything about your body. How much you weigh, your blood pressure, how many steps you take, how well you sleep and everything else. We’ve been able to get this stuff from doctors for a long time but it’s just recently that sensors have become cheap, good and small enough to get a lot of this info from our phones or wrist bands. Combine it with software for context and you can be fully aware of your health.

Again, I’m not in to this kind of thing yet, but I know a lot of your people have made new years resolutions revolving around your health. The Fitbit Flex is a great way to reach those health goals and, more importantly, keeping yourself accountable.

Shipping is free and, as mentioned earlier, it is only on sale in the lime green. I don’t know why but if colour really matters, maybe you could show this to someone at a physical store and score a different colour. Now, speaking of getting fit, I’m going to go put the head unit back on my treadmill.

Future Shop Canada: Canon PowerShot 16.1MP $70 (Save $46)

Posted by on January 1, 2014 at 10:00 AM

Future Shop Canada: Canon PowerShot 16.1MP $70 (Save $46)

Future Shop Canada is offering a sweet deal on a Canon PowerShot 16.1MP 5X Optical Zoom Digital Camera (A2500) – Black. Originally $115.99, the camera is now on sale for $69.99!

I price compared with Best Buy Canada and they have the same camera listed at $99.99. I could not find this model number many places but similar models were priced upwards of $100.

The Canon boasts a 2.7″ LCD screen, lightweight design, DIGIC 4 image processor and a 16.0MP CCD sensor. It includes a 24 mm wide-angle lens with 5x optical zoom. With plenty of bonus features, this camera is a great buy at this price. These cameras are also a great buy because they are small, durable, affordable, and perfect for sharing. Whereas I would not give my iPhone to someone to take a picture of me (and risk $600 worth), I would gladly share a Powershot camera. I also would be worried about the durability of my iPhone while caving, rock climbing, or other activities. With a camera like this, I would be far less concerned. It also can handle knocks a lot better than my delicate touch screen device.

You will get free shipping on this camera as it costs over $20.

FutureShop: $40 off Logitech Harmony Smart Control (Only $90)

Posted by on December 30, 2013 at 4:30 PM

FutureShop: $40 off Logitech Harmony Smart Control (Only $90)

Put your entertainment center in Harmony with a Logitech Smart Control from FutureShop.

I should have bought one of these for my mother-in-law. She has three remotes and, although she has them all pretty much down, it is kind of a pain in the butt. If you lose one you can’t do anything else until you find it, if someone presses a button by accident, it’s almost impossible to figure out what happened. It’s a mess. Adding a Logitech Harmony Smart Control along with her tablet would be a great option. She can do everything she needs to right from her tablet and, if that is dead or she doesn’t like it, she still has the Harmony remote.

You get the programmable remote, access to the Harmony App and an RF receiver that converts the Harmony RF signals to IR or Bluetooth. That means you can use the remote with your entertainment center doors closed. For some people that doesn’t matter but if your living room is in a certain theme, it’s kind of a bummer to have to show all the LEDs and wires that you have sitting under your TV.

The regular price is $129.99 and that is about what everyone else is selling it for. You get it for $89.99 which is a $40 savings. Shipping is free or you can buy it online and pick it up at your local store.
