Future Shop Canada: Canon PowerShot 16.1MP $70 (Save $46)

Future Shop Canada: Canon PowerShot 16.1MP $70 (Save $46)

Future Shop Canada is offering a sweet deal on a Canon PowerShot 16.1MP 5X Optical Zoom Digital Camera (A2500) – Black. Originally $115.99, the camera is now on sale for $69.99!

I price compared with Best Buy Canada and they have the same camera listed at $99.99. I could not find this model number many places but similar models were priced upwards of $100.

The Canon boasts a 2.7″ LCD screen, lightweight design, DIGIC 4 image processor and a 16.0MP CCD sensor. It includes a 24 mm wide-angle lens with 5x optical zoom. With plenty of bonus features, this camera is a great buy at this price. These cameras are also a great buy because they are small, durable, affordable, and perfect for sharing. Whereas I would not give my iPhone to someone to take a picture of me (and risk $600 worth), I would gladly share a Powershot camera. I also would be worried about the durability of my iPhone while caving, rock climbing, or other activities. With a camera like this, I would be far less concerned. It also can handle knocks a lot better than my delicate touch screen device.

You will get free shipping on this camera as it costs over $20.

FutureShop: $40 off Logitech Harmony Smart Control (Only $90)

Posted by on December 30, 2013 at 4:30 PM

FutureShop: $40 off Logitech Harmony Smart Control (Only $90)

Put your entertainment center in Harmony with a Logitech Smart Control from FutureShop.

I should have bought one of these for my mother-in-law. She has three remotes and, although she has them all pretty much down, it is kind of a pain in the butt. If you lose one you can’t do anything else until you find it, if someone presses a button by accident, it’s almost impossible to figure out what happened. It’s a mess. Adding a Logitech Harmony Smart Control along with her tablet would be a great option. She can do everything she needs to right from her tablet and, if that is dead or she doesn’t like it, she still has the Harmony remote.

You get the programmable remote, access to the Harmony App and an RF receiver that converts the Harmony RF signals to IR or Bluetooth. That means you can use the remote with your entertainment center doors closed. For some people that doesn’t matter but if your living room is in a certain theme, it’s kind of a bummer to have to show all the LEDs and wires that you have sitting under your TV.

The regular price is $129.99 and that is about what everyone else is selling it for. You get it for $89.99 which is a $40 savings. Shipping is free or you can buy it online and pick it up at your local store.

Future Shop Canada: Boxing Day Web Only Deals

Future Shop Canada: Boxing Day Web Only Deals

We published Future Shop’s Boxing Day flyer for you a few days ago, but Future Shop also has some Boxing Day online-only deals, which started today.

Each deal has a different expiry date, some end January 1st or 2nd, but some are only until December 27th. I’m going to hazard a guess that these deals move quickly. It also looks like because the Boxing Day deals do move quickly, the reserve and pick-up in store function is off, so these are ship to your home only deals. In fact, some of the best deals may have sold out already, like the Nikon camera package I really would have loved to get.

Some of the best:

Shipping is free on orders over $20.

Best Buy & Future Shop Canada: PlayStation Vita Games as Low as $1.97

Both Best Buy and Future Shop have the same incredible deal on right now for all of the PlayStation video game lovers out there.  At both stores, you will be able to get PlayStation Vita games on sale for as low as just $1.97.

Even though both stores have this sale, the actual games you can get on sale will vary from each of them.  Some of the games you may have your eye on at one store wont be available at the other so you will want to check out both sales for games.

Here is a look at some of the deals you will find:

Best Buy

Future Shop

Since there are limited quantities, it looks as though these deals are only offered online.

Both stores offer free shipping for most orders over $20.

FutureShop Canada: Boxing Day Deals & Flyer

FutureShop Canada: Boxing Day Deals & Flyer

Put on your gloves, pick out your favourite trunks and get some awesome Boxing Day deals at FutureShop!

There are lots of good deals here, so let’s get right into them:

Those are just a few specific deals, but there are tons more, including a lot of really good TV deals. All iPads are also on sale, and there are even some great deals on appliances. I will mention that the video game deals were kind of junk, but that’s expected with a couple of new consoles on the market.

I did some price comparing and pretty much everything is a legit deal. The “before” prices are inflated a bit on a lot of the items, but that doesn’t make the “after” prices any less great.

The deals go live on the 24th online and in stores on the 26th December 2013. Some stores are opening early on the 26th, so call your location to see when they open. Shipping is free on orders over $20.

Here is the full Future Shop Boxing Day flyer:

If this isn’t getting you going, check out the BargainMoose Boxing Day Dashboard.

Future Shop Canada: Grand Theft Auto V (PS3/xBox 360) For $40 (Save $20)

Future Shop Canada: Grand Theft Auto V (PS3/xBox 360) For $40 (Save $20)

Thieve Autos in a grand fashion at FutureShop for only $39.99!

Is this a good game? I don’t know, I haven’t played it yet. I dig the other GTA games, so I have to imagine that this is better. If we go just by the number of Guinness World Records it has broken, it’s the best game ever. Here’s why:

  • Best-selling action-adventure video game in 24 hours
  • Best-selling video game in 24 hours
  • Fastest entertainment property to gross $1 billion
  • Fastest video game to gross $1 billion
  • Highest grossing video game in 24 hours
  • Highest revenue generated by an entertainment product in 24 hours
  • Most viewed trailer for an action-adventure video game

Not too shabby, right? By all reports this is a great game, and the online content is supposed to be pretty awesome, too. It’s the first main series entry in seven years, so if you’ve been waiting like millions of others have, here is your chance to get it for $20 off the regular price of $59.99. That’s only $39.99. This is also a great gift idea for the car stealing maniac in your life.

Since this is over the $20 shipping threshold, it also gets free shipping!

Future Shop Canada: Sony PS3 3D Glasses For $15 – Works With Most Active 3D TVs

Posted by on December 8, 2013 at 1:30 PM

Future Shop Canada: Sony PS3 3D Glasses For $15 Works With Most Active 3D TVs

Want 3D glasses that work with almost any Active 3D TV for only $15? Yes! Thank you FutureShop!

These glasses are Sony PS3 branded, but they will actually work with almost any Active 3D HDTV out there. Of course, since they are Sony PS3 branded, stores are trying to clear them out. 3D was never a big deal in video games on the PS3, and is even less so on the PS4. Having these things sitting in a warehouse is, to retailers, a pain in the butt. People will probably think they only work with Sony TVs or only with the PS3, but that is not the case. The only caveat is with TV’s that use RF to sync the glasses instead of IR. These glasses do not support RF shutter sync.

These glasses are still being sold for the full price of $69.99 in some places, and Amazon Canada is selling them for $29.99. So, at minimum you are saving $15! For me shipping was $4.99 and I suspect it will be similar for most people. You can also pick this up at your local store. Of course, then you need to get out of the house, brave the crowds and the weather. It’s a whole thing. Just get someone else to bring it directly to your front door!

Future Shop Canada: Save Up To 25% On Bodum

Posted by on November 21, 2013 at 4:00 PM

Future Shop Canada: Save Up To 25% On Bodum

Future Shop has a good deal on Bodum. Bodum sells coffee and tea accessories plus other small appliances. They are well known for their tea press. Save 20% on kitchen tools and 25% on small appliances.

I was actually looking at a tea press for myself the other day, to put on my wish list for my husband. This year I’ve really started enjoying tea and for the first time the other day, I had loose-leaf tea and was amazed at the difference in flavour from tea bags. I also love that I can make a pot of tea rather than just a cup, and I don’t need a kettle.

The Bodum Assam tea press is $6 off and now only $23.99, with four colours to choose from. It serves 3-4 people and you can use both loose-leaf or tea bags in it. It also is perfect for you frugal ones out there as you can reuse the tea in this, saving you some money!

Their Bistro electric Burr coffee grinder is fancy and does a great job grinding it out. This item is only available in-store. Was $149.99, now only $111.99.

Shipping is free when you spend over $20 at Future Shop.

Best Buy & Future Shop Canada: iTunes $60 Multipack For $55

Posted by on November 17, 2013 at 5:30 PM

Best Buy & Future Shop Canada: iTunes $60 Multipack For $55

This is an ongoing in-store-only deal at Best Buy Canada and at Future Shop Canada. You can always pop into your local store and pick this deal up. Get an iTunes $60 Multipack for only $55. I wanted to blog about it now because it is especially salient, as the holidays are approaching and people get lost for gift ideas. That saves you $5 off the retail value of the cards!

What I like best about this deal is that the pack includes four $15 iTunes cards. You can split the cards among up to four family members and/or friends. Get or make a nice holiday card, and put a $15 iTunes card in it. An iTunes card is always appreciated and will always be used to purchase new music, games, and apps. If you are on a tight budget or do not know what to get someone, it is the perfect gift idea that gives them the freedom to choose, and you still are giving them something nice.

Future Shop Canada: Battlefield, Call of Duty Or Assassin’s Creed Games Free With Any PS3/xBox 360/Wii U Game Trade-In

Posted by on November 8, 2013 at 11:30 PM

Future Shop Canada: Battlefield, Call of Duty Or Assassins Creed Games Free With Any PS3/xBox 360/Wii U Game Trade In

Hold on to your butts, people, FutureShop is putting on a big one! This is straight up free video games just for trading in any PS3, xBox 360 or Wii U game. This deal is in-store only.

This seems like a lie doesn’t it? Well, I heard about it in the Financial Post and even their readers were saying that there is no way this is true, so much so that the Corporate Communications Manager of FutureShop tweeted to say that this is true. Crazy, am I right?

You aren’t getting junky games. You’re getting three of the biggest releases of the year with a simple trade-in. Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, Call of Duty: Ghost or Battlefield 4: they cost nothing, you just need to go to the store and trade in any of your games. There is a limit of one per customer, per day. There are some other restrictions too, so read the whole post I linked you to up there. You better believe that my wife and I are going to be there Saturday and Sunday picking up copies of these. I don’t even want them, I just want to flip them on Kijiji for $40 later on. If I never sell them, I didn’t really lose anything.

The deal starts on the 9th and goes until the 11th. I guess this is also valid at Best Buy, but I haven’t been able to confirm.

Future Shop Canada: Cuisinart Blend & Cook Blender $80 (Save $69)

Posted by on November 6, 2013 at 2:30 PM

Future Shop Canada: Cuisinart Blend & Cook Blender $80 (Save $69)

Future Shop Canada has a really good deal on this Cuisinart Blend & Cook 1.7L Blender. Originally $148.99 the wicked little blender is now only $79.99 with free shipping because you are spending over $20.

We have totally mentioned this little blender once before: when it was on sale for $129.99 and came with two free movie tickets from Shop.ca. That was way back in January and though the blender has come down in overall price a bit, we have not seen a deal on it as good as this one from Future Shop.

What makes this blender so special? I really can’t say it better than the company itself so this is why this blender is wicked:

This multifunctional machine sautés, cooks and blends homemade soups and sauces right in the jar. Simply add pre-cut ingredients and the machine sautés, blends and keeps the soup warm until serving. Three temperature settings (low, medium & high) and four blending speeds, plus a stir function, lets you blend ingredients to the perfect consistency. It’s also a high-performance blender, perfect for crushing ice and whipping up cocktails or smoothies.

Forget microwave dinners: make dinner in your blender!

Best Buy & Future Shop Canada: 50% Off Previously Played Games

I am someone that doesn’t mind grabbing something used if it is still good and it will save me a bit of money, whether it be clothing, furniture, toys or electronics.  Why pay full price for something when you can get the exact same thing that was slightly used at a discount?  Right now at both Best Buy and Future Shop, all of their previously played games are on sale for 50% off.

The selection is going really fast with these video games, but since they do trade-ins every single day, new games will most likely be added daily.  Find games for Wii, PS3, Xbox 360, WiiU, PSP, NintendoDS and more, all of them at 50% off.

Video games are very popular with kids, but can be expensive.  This is the perfect way to grab something on their Christmas wish list without breaking the bank.

Here are a few of the great deals you will find:

The selection at both stores is dwindling fast, so if you see something you want, make sure you grab it while they still have it!

Both Future Shop and Best Buy offer free shipping for all orders of $20 or more.
