Future Shop: Monster Adidas Headphones Were $250 | Now $130

Posted by on January 16, 2015 at 1:43 PM

Future Shop: Monster Adidas Headphones Were $250 | Now $130

If a new headset is in the budget for this year, then toddle on over to Future Shop for a brand new pair of Monster ADIDAS Over-Ear Sound Isolating Headphones. Originally $249.99, the headphones are now on sale for $129.99.

This deal is also available at Best Buy if the headsets sell out at Future Shop. Price comparing the Monster Adidas headphones proved more difficult than I expected. They appear to be rather difficult to find in Canada – new. The only Canadian online retailer with the headsets in stock is Sport Chek; they sell the Monster Adidas headphones for $279.99 each. I found an old cached page from Adidas US where the company themselves had the headset on sale for $224 US, but they are no longer available. Secondary sellers on Amazon.com start their prices at $200 US. eBay prices are all over depending on how new, with box, and other things but you will certainly be paying far more for a new headset off of eBay with taxes and duties added on.

The headset comes in three colour combinations:

  • blue/white
  • black/white
  • white/black

I have to say that the blue is my least favourite colour while the other two look very nice in my opinion. Now, we do not always buy headphones for the aesthetics so here are some of their cool features. The ADIDAS Monster headphones feature MusicShare dual ports that allow you to link multiple MusicShare-compatible headphones together so you all can listen to the same music together. This beats sharing earbuds – trust me. Each headset has passive noise isolation to block out environmental distractions. The cable comes with ControlTalk allowing you to control your music playback and your calls when connected to an Apple device.

The headset also folds up easily for storage. This may be a small thing, but for anyone who loves to wear headsets rather than earbuds – transportation is very important. I value quality of sound over everything. Second, I would say lightness is important, as I like to wear my headset for long periods. However, third would be transportability. I need to be able to take my headset with me without it being awkward or there is really no point in owning it.

This is a cool headset at a great price. Receive free shipping on orders of $25 or more. I can see these selling out quickly.

Take 50% Off Up by Jawbone Activity Tracker Only $40 Today @ Future Shop Canada (EXPIRED)

Posted by on January 15, 2015 at 3:04 PM

Take 50% Off Up by Jawbone Activity Tracker Only $40 Today @ Future Shop Canada (EXPIRED)

Future Shop Canada has an offer valid today only on the Jawbone Up Wristbands. Today, you can take 50% off the original price of the Jawbone Up – which leaves you paying just $39.99. I am sure many of you had New Years resolutions to be fit or more active, maybe this can help. After all, we are just two weeks into our resolutions at this point.

This particular Jawbone wristband is the entry level “Up”. You can count on this wristband to keep track of the calories you burn, the steps you take and even how well you sleep. You can plug the Jawbone Up into charge with the USB charge cable, and your charge should last you up to ten days. You can choose between blue and black when it comes to colours. Personally, I really like the aqua blue but black would match any outfit.

While other retailers may have more colour options available, Future Shop Canada has the lowest price around. You can select from red, onyx, blue, grey and more from The Source Canada but you will be paying $139.99. You will pay upwards of $89 @ Amazon.ca as well.

There is nothing I hate more than the sound of my blaring alarm early Monday morning. This Jawbone Up wristband for just $39.99 has a silent alarm setting. You can wake up gently with the vibration and silent alarm. The Jawbone Up tracker will even make note of an optimal time in your sleeping pattern to wake you up, to ensure you feel as rested as you can.

You can also sync your new Jawbone Up wristband from Future Shop Canaca to MyFitnessPal and other weight loss apps. This is ideal if you have New Years resolutions to keep fit, lose weight or be more active in 2015. Keep it up!

Unfortunately, the Jawbone Up wristband is not adjustable. You will need to by size small, medium or large depending on the measurement of your wrist. The small band is for wrists 5.5 to 6 inches, the medium band is for wrists 6 to 7 inches and the large band is for wrists 7 to 8 inches. Another downfall is that these Jawbone wristbands lack a few features that other tracking wristbands have. You will not be able to monitor your heart or elevation.

You won’t have to worry about any shipping and handling fees either. This Jawbone Up wristband automatically qualifies for free shipping from FutureShop.ca because it is over $25 after discounts.

Future Shop: FREE iLuv Portable Speaker Dock with $50 Speaker Purchase

Future Shop: FREE iLuv Portable Speaker Dock with $50 Speaker Purchase

Receive a free iLuv Modern Box Aux-in Portable Speaker Dock when you purchase a $50 or more portable speaker at Future Shop. This little speaker dock is valued at $9.99 (but is on sale for $5.99) right now. Depending on how you look at it, you are receiving a $6 or $10 freebie with purchase.

You will need to add the iLuv Portable Speaker Dock to your cart for it to become discounted at checkout. Also, and this is important, the speaker you purchase must cost $50 or more. You cannot load up your cart with speakers that cost under that for a total of $50 or more. The speaker you purchase must itself cost $50 or more for you to receive the free iLuv Speaker Dock.

Now, there are actually some very fine deals on portable speakers right now at Future Shop. The Marley Liberate Bluetooth Speaker (EM-JA005-MI) – Black/Grey is 50% off. The rugged design has a two-layer grill and REWIND fabric. Wirelessly connect to the speaker from up to 30 feet away and enjoy your music for up to six hours on a single charge. Originally $129.99, the speaker is on sale for $64.99.

The Logitech X300 Bluetooth Speaker – Black/Brown is still available online whereas the Purple is only available for reservation in stores. This basic little unit originally cost $79.99, but it is now on sale for $59.99. Enjoy five hours of music before the device needs to recharge via a micro-usb cable. While I would generally not think of Logitech for a portable speaker but most the reviews think this is a decent unit for the price.

This Monster Superstar Wireless Speaker – Black/Grey is another very good buy. Originally $139.99, the speaker is now only $99.99. Reviewers positively rave about the speaker; here are just a couple of the reviews:

For the amount I paid for it, I could not ask for anything else out of this speaker. This is the best value for your money (maybe even under priced because it’s just that good).

and…

Love this unit so much, that I give them as gifts… Very impressive for the size and great value for the price. First purchased 3 years ago… That speaker has travelled everywhere with me… Camping, beaching, hiking, riding… Its been a great companion!

Seriously, people rave about this think. For $100, you probably cannot do better. The extra gift with purchase is just a nice little bonus on the side.

Receive free shipping on orders of $25 or more.

Future Shop: $79 Off Microsoft Office 365 Personal & McAfee 2015 LiveSafe – $70

Posted by on January 9, 2015 at 6:00 PM

Future Shop: $79 Off Microsoft Office 365 Personal & McAfee 2015 LiveSafe $70

Oh did I find a fantastic deal for you my dear Moosers! Upgrade both your Microsoft Office and your anti-virus at the same time with this bundle deal from Future Shop Canada. When you purchase Microsoft Office 365 Personal and McAfee 2015 LiveSafe together, save $79 off the original retail value of $149.99. Purchase this software bundle for just $69.99.

No one else has these two items bundled together (except Best Buy) so for price comparing I had to look at the two software packages seperatly. First, McAfee 2015 LiveSafe retails for the following at other retailers:

  • $79.99 @ McAfee Canada
  • $79.99 @ Amazon Canada
  • $79.99 @ Staples Canada
  • $79.99 @ Best Buy & Future Shop (when sold individually)

In addition, retailers sell Microsoft Office 365 Personal for the following:

  • $69 @ Microsoft Store Canada
  • $69 @ Amazon Canada
  • $69 @ Staples Canada
  • $69 @ Best Buy & Future Shop (when sold individually)

Essentially, you are paying for Microsoft Office 365 Personal and receiving the deluxe anti-virus software for only 99 cents more. This is a fantastic deal as both programs come fully loaded with everything you would ever need.

McAfee 2015 LiveSafe protects your computer from viruses, malware, hackers, and identity thieves. The software package blocks spam and dangerous email that could harm your computer or harbour viruses. McAfee offers unlimited protection for all the devices that you own – tablets and phones are included. There is also a SafeKey Password Manager to keep all your valuable information safe. This is McAfee’s best anti-virus software as it includes everything their other software packages have and more.

Microsoft Office 365 Personal gives you all Microsoft Office has to offer for one PC (or Mac), one tablet (including iPad), and one smart phone. If you own a PC, you will receive Office 2013 versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Publisher, and Access. If you own a Mac, the versions are from a few years ago but your subscription entitles you to the new versions when they are released. Mac users will enjoy Office 2011 versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Download OneNote for Mac from the Mac App Store. The software for your tablet and phone also depends upon what operating system you have.

Both of these software packages are a one-year subscription, as per usual. I am running 2010 software on my PC right now, and I must say this deal makes it tempting to upgrade.

Receive free shipping as this package costs greater than $25.

Today Only: Canon Pixma MX532 All-In-One Printer Just $50 (Was $130) @ Future Shop Canada

Posted by on January 8, 2015 at 12:30 PM

Today Only: Canon Pixma MX532 All In One Printer Just $50 (Was $130) @ Future Shop Canada

Need a printer? Then today only, you can get the Canon Pixma MX552 all-in-one printer on sale for $49.99 at Future Shop. It was originally priced at $129.99. With the $7.75 environmental handling fee, this printer comes up to $57.74 before tax. You will also get it shipped for free as Future Shop automatically ships all orders over $25 free of charge.

This is an all-in-one printer, which means that it can print, scan, copy and fax.

One of the main specs to look at when choosing a printer is the printer speed. The Canon Pixma MX552 prints at a speed of 9.7PPM (pages per minute) in black and 5.5PPM in colour. For just $50, this is actually quite fast!

To save on paper, you can also set it to automatically print on both sides.

This printer has built-in Wi-Fi, which means that all you need to do is plug in your Wi-Fi password it and then you will be able to quickly and convenient print using your network.

Cloud printing will also allow you to print directly from your smart phone. Least you think this isn’t a handy feature, it actually really is. Every morning, I check my e-mails using my iPhone and very often, I get a printable coupon from stores like The Children Place. So instead of having to re-log into my e-mail on my laptop, I just open the printable coupon on my phone and print it using the cloud service — much less hassle this way and no worries about potentially forgetting to print the coupon on my laptop!

Price comparing, I found this same printer for $59.99 at Best Buy and London Drugs. The Source is selling it for $69.99. Reviews appear to be somewhat mixed but here’s one that sums up this printer’s functionality well:

The MX532 is a great printer for light home-office use. It has very good quality prints, scans very well, and faxes reliably. As another reviewer remarked about the previous model (MX-522), you “don’t need at Ph.D. to use it.” Wireless set-up was a snap and after downloading the drivers and programs from the included CD on two laptops (one with Windows 7 and one with Windows 8), wireless set up for each took 30 seconds.

Future Shop Canada: 43% Off Logitech Anywhere MX Optical Mouse – Was $70 | Now $40

Posted by on January 5, 2015 at 1:00 PM

Future Shop Canada: 43% Off Logitech Anywhere MX Optical Mouse Was $70 | Now $40

A month ago, I blogged about the Logitech MX mouse being on sale for $50 at Best Buy. Even then, that was a fantastic price for this awesome mouse but now, Future Shop is offering it for an even lower price tag of just $39.99 (reg. $69.99). As Future Shop ships orders over $25 for free,  you’re also sure to get this mouse shipped for free as well.

Have you ever heard of a carrying pouch being included with a mouse? This is perhaps more common than I think but I have actually never heard of such a thing and yet, this one does! It also comes with 2 AA batteries and features the following specs:

  • Darkfield laser tracking that can be used on almost any surface, including glass
  • Compact & ergonomic design
  • Hyper-fast scrolling
  • 2.4GHz wireless

As far as reviews go, there are nearly 20 with an overall rating of 3.8/5 stars. Just the fact that there are nearly 20 reviews is a good indication of this mouse’s potential as being a good product. Certain reviewers have reported that this mouse’s button fall off but then there are plenty of other reviews claiming that this is the best mouse that they have ever owned.

So it’s a bit of a hit or miss perhaps, but here’s one review that might sway you. It’s somewhat lengthy, but if you’re in need of a new mouse and are considering this one, then it’s worth the read:

Pressing the middle wheel to change the “feel” is an INCREDIBLY useful feature if you’re scrolling through a lot of stuff. If you change it to smooth, the scroll speed goes 10 times faster, I use this a lot and LOVE it. As far as the little button behind the wheel being the middle mouse button, after 15 minutes of readjusting to the location you no longer realize where it is. The features and feel of the scroll wheel are worth the adjustment.

Works as promised on glass perfectly, overall construction and feel is top notch. Overall the best mouse I have ever used. Cannot comment on the receiver issues, as I’ve only had the mouse for a year and have no issues with it.

Performing a quick price comparison, I found the Logitech Anywhere MX mouse priced at $59.99 at Newegg and as high as $69.99 at Best Buy.

Best Buy & Future Shop Canada: Kobo Arc 10.1″ Was $300 | Now $170

Posted by on January 5, 2015 at 10:06 AM

Best Buy & Future Shop Canada: Kobo Arc 10.1 Was $300 | Now $170

Best Buy and Future Shop have a hot deal on the Kobo Arc 10.1 16GB tablet that was $300 and now only $169.99. This is the lowest price I’ve ever seen this tablet.

This is seriously a great deal that I’m considering taking advantage of. My kids have Kobo Arc tablets in the 7″ version and they are great. I like having a larger screen, so I considered buying this tablet at full-price last year. Instead, I can save $130 and get it today until January 8th or until they sell out.

You might think of Kobo as just an e-reader but this Android tablet is just as good as any other Android tablet and even rivals iPad in my opinion at half the price. You can of course, use it as an e-reader as well, although it doesn’t have the same type of screen you see in e-readers that make them so great at the beach.

I personally like the 10″ because I use my tablet for recipes and I like to be able to see it larger. Of course, watching movies and surfing is also better on a larger screen and I still find this size portable enough to put in my purse.

This tablet has a 4.3 star rating out of five, with value being rated the highest and performance almost as good.

Impressive processing power under the hood makes the Arc 10 quite fast. A bit heavy, a bit boxy, but the back is well-designed and actually pretty cool-looking with a grippy coating.

I really like this device! I still have to play around with it a fair bit more to figure out all the things that it can do, but so far so good. The only thing is that the speakers don’t seem very loud sometimes, but that may just be me…

Interestingly enough, I don’t see this tablet on sale anywhere else, so this truly is the best price you’ll get it anywhere.

Shipping will be free from both stores, as you are exceeding the $25 free shipping threshold.

Future Shop: $32 Off Cyber Acoustics 2.0 Speakers – Only $8 *HOT*

Posted by on January 4, 2015 at 12:43 PM

Future Shop: $32 Off Cyber Acoustics 2.0 Speakers Only $8 *HOT*

If you need a new pair of computer speakers then this is the deal for you. Save $32 on the Cyber Acoustics 2.0 Computer Speaker System (CA-896). Originally $39.99, this set of speaker is on clearance for just $7.99.

I could not find these speakers very many other places to give a good price comparison. Newegg sold them but they are now out of stock and a previous price is not listed. I did find them in stock and sold by Amazon Canada, where they are listed for $33.76 currently. Best Buy has the same deal as Future Shop but they are already sold out! I assume these speakers will sell out quickly as the sister store is already sold out.

They are a fairly basic set of speakers in a nice sleek black. They have the basic on/off switch and a volume control on the speaker itself. There is an LED power indicator so you know when there is power going to the speakers. There is also a Headphone output jack in case you want to save your family the disturbance at 2 AM.

As a lovely little extra, they feature a USB charging port. It has an output of 5.1V DC at 2.1 amp. That means it has enough power to charge a tablet or iPad and not just your smart phone. This is a sweet added feature as I find my computer never has enough USB ports. It does not come with a USB cord; that you will need to provide.

Reviews range from mediocre to quite pleased. Keep in mind most of these reviews would have been closer to full price. Here are a few reviews:

I have this speaker system for a month. So far it works great for cheap price. Pretty much loud. No problem at all.

and…

These speakers arrived in about one week. They look nice and they work OK. The only thing that could be better is the volume of the sound which could be louder at the maximum level.

Now, these speakers are so cheap they will not qualify for free shipping. You only get free shipping on orders of $25. You also cannot pick up in store, as this is an online only deal. I suggest checking out the rest of the clearance sale , as shipping would really cut into your savings. There is a limit of one per household.

Misfit Flash Activity & Sleep Tracker Just $30 | Was $50 @ Best Buy & Future Shop Canada

Posted by on January 2, 2015 at 9:30 PM

Misfit Flash Activity & Sleep Tracker Just $30 | Was $50 @ Best Buy & Future Shop Canada

Smart watches are all the rage lately and if you haven’t jumped on the bandwagon yet, then both Best Buy and Future Shop have a fantastic deal on the Misfit Flash wireless activity and sleep tracker. Right now, you can get one of these trackers for just $29.99 instead of their regular price of $49.99.

As you can see on the picture above, it’s not a smart watch per se but it’s comparable to one as it tracks physical activity, along with sleep duration and quality. Once the tracker is turned on, twelve little lights will serve to illustrate your level of activity.

The Misfit Flash can most notably track:

  • number of calories burnt
  • number of miles/km travelled
  • duration of sleep
  • quality of sleep

It’s also waterproof up to 30 meters and you won’t have to worry about wearing it during wet conditions. The battery should last you up to 6 months, though according to one reviewer, it lasts 3 months. Keep in mind that it needs to be synced with a smart phone for optimal tracking as you will then be able to track your progress with fitness stats and daily goals.

A couple of reviewers have noted that this is a great tracker with the only drawback being that the wrist band is perhaps not made from the best material. Considering the price, this is a factor that can be easily overlooked, especially since this tracker may also be clipped nearly anywhere like on a shirt, inside a pocket and even on your shoe! Here’s what one reviewer had to say about it:

I bought this to test out the accuracy of a wearable fitness monitor, before plunking down bigger bucks on something fancier. I am pleasantly surprised at its accuracy so far, even the sleep monitor component. The watch band isn’t the greatest quality but you get what you pay for.

It’s also available in the following colours: black, white, pink, blue, reef green or white.

Since both Best Buy and Future Shop ships orders totalling over $25 for free, you’re sure to get this nifty gadget shipped at no extra cost as well.

Best Buy/ Future Shop Canada: Wii U Super Mario 3D World Deluxe Set Just $250 (Was $300)

Posted by on December 29, 2014 at 10:00 PM

Best Buy/ Future Shop Canada: Wii U Super Mario 3D World Deluxe Set Just $250 (Was $300)

Ready to make the leap into the land of the Nintendo Wii U? Both Best Buy and Future Shop have discounted it by $50. Until the first day of the new year, you can get it for just $249.99, instead of its original price of $299.99.

The last time that we saw the Nintendo Wii U go down in price to just $250 was all the way back in the third week of November during Toys R Us’ Moonlight Sale and even then, the sale only lasted two hours! Even Best Buy’s and Future Shop’s discount aren’t that long-lasting as you can only secure them during the next couple of days. Everywhere else, this console is still priced at its full price of $299.99.

This Nintendo Wii U deluxe set comes with the console itself, a sensor bar, a gamepad, and the Super Mario 3D World game. Other accessories like a gamepad stand and all of the necessary wiring are also included.

I bought this exact same set last year and I LOVE it. Super Mario 3D World is a super fun game to play, especially as a team with someone else or even a couple of friends and will most definitely keep you entertained for days, if not months like in my case. Plus, once you have officially beat the game, there are a couple of bonus levels to keep you entertained just a little while longer.

Unlike the PlayStation and Xbox consoles, a major perk of getting the Wii U is that it’s backwards compatible. This means that if you have the previously released the version, the Wii, then you could still continue to use the games that you already have. This is a major advantage, especially if you have a large collection of Wii games just sitting, waiting to be played.

Since both Best Buy and Future Shop ship orders over $25 for free, you’re sure to get your brand new toy delivered at no extra charge as well! Best Buy/ Future Shop Canada: Wii U Super Mario 3D World Deluxe Set Just $250 (Was $300)

Moosers, do you have a Nintendo Wii U? Which games would you recommend?

Future Shop: Turtle Beach Gaming Headset just $29.99 *HOT*

Posted by on December 25, 2014 at 4:33 PM

Future Shop: Turtle Beach Gaming Headset just $29.99 *HOT*

Future Shop is totally blowing my mind with their price on the Turtle Beach Ear Force DXL1 Dolby Surround Sound Gaming Headset for Boxing Week. Ignore the ‘savings’ as it is horribly inaccurate and check out my price comparison below. Future Shop has this Turtle Beach headset that retails for $100+ on sale for $29.99.

They have the same deal at Best Buy but the expiry dates are different. You can get this deal at Future Shop until the end of the year while Best Buy’s deal ends tonight.

I price compared this unit because the ‘saved’ price at Future Shop is way out to lunch. Here is what the competitors are actually selling this headset for:

  • $99.95 @ The Source Canada (backordered)
  • $127.77 @ Amazon Canada
  • $136.79 @ Staples Canada

Oh yes, this Turtle Beach gaming headset is quite the deal. While it is designed for the Xbox 360, it IS compatible with the Xbox One, a PC/MAC, and even a PS3/PS4 with a small adapter cable – consult Turtle Beach’s website for more details. Since most people will purchase this to use either with their Xbox or with PC, I have included the PC hookup instructions to be your guide:

Future Shop: Turtle Beach Gaming Headset just $29.99 *HOT*

There are plenty of image tutorials on how to connect this headset to other gaming consoles as well.

One of the primary selling features of this headset is the DSS2 surround sound processor, which retails for $79.99 alone on Amazon.ca. Essentially, the headset and the surround sound processor are cheaper than buying the processor alone.

The headset also features:

  • 20 Hz – 20 kHz frequency response
  • In-line amplifier
  • 50mm speakers
  • separate volume controls
  • Positionable microphone

Essentially, you will enjoy the immersive experience of 360-degree surround sound blasting through these speakers while being able to differentiate the sounds from chat windows (etc) and keeping them at a lower level.

Amazon.com has many reviews for the headset with most of them being positive. One reviewer concluded his lengthy review saying:

Overall, this headset is amazing. After having high-end headsets, I really think they don’t really compare to this. I paid $70 for this here on Amazon. You really can’t beat the price for this wired headset. If you’re looking for a nice, comfortable headset with great sound; look no further.

Well, if he paid $70 USD for the headset and thought it was an unbeatable price, you really should snap it up for only $30 CA with free shipping.

$90 Off Sennheiser RS126 II – Now $89.99 @ Best Buy & Future Shop

Posted by on December 25, 2014 at 12:10 PM

$90 Off Sennheiser RS126 II Now $89.99 @ Best Buy & Future Shop

Best Buy and Future Shop are selling the Sennheiser RS 126 II Wireless On-Ear Headphones for just $89.99, saving you $90 (50%) off the original price for Boxing Week.

Its rather funny looking at Future Shop and Best Buy because each quotes a different discount. Best Buy says the headset is $90 off, and Future Shop says the headset is $50 off. I think that Best Buy might be right in this instance as my price comparisons show that this headset goes for quite the price at most retailers:

  • $179.99 @ Dell Canada
  • $199.99 @ Staples Canada
  • $199.99 @ The Source (older version)
  • $129.99 @ London Drugs (older version)

The only place I could find that matched the twins’ price was Amazon Canada at $89.99 on a lightning deal. As Best Buy and Future Shop have this deal on until the 28th, I figured this was the better place to find the headset.

I have been looking for a wireless headset for some time. While I love my Denon headset, sometimes wires are terribly inconvenient and I just want to listen without tangling myself up in a cord. I decided on Sennheiser a while ago because they make such a large variety of wireless headsets to suit all budgets. The Sennheiser RS126 II is the second edition (note that) of this headset. It features an open, supra-aural wireless RF headphone system giving detailed sound reproduction and good strong base.

The wireless headset can communicate with your MP3 player or phone up to 100 meters. The headphones come with a transmitter with metal cradle for storing and recharging the headphones. Rechargeable AAA NiMH batteries are also included. The headphones are also very lightweight making them comfortable to wear for long durations.

The main negative thing I have heard is that there is static. However, with four channels you should be able to tune that out. It could also be due to interference if you are using many Bluetooth products in your house. This reviewer said:

If you want to get rid of the burden of cables this option is optimal. Sound quality is great and headphones are very comfortable. I use them in the office to listen to music, not to wear them while walking around the house. The manufacturer’s stated usable range is about right, so watching TV or listening to music in the same room is not a problem.

Overall, I think these are a very good buy for the money you are spending. Receive free shipping on orders of $25 or more.

Sennheiser HD 335 Headphones Was $150 | Now $69.99 @ Best Buy *HOT*

Posted by on December 24, 2014 at 9:12 PM

Sennheiser HD 335 Headphones Was $150 | Now $69.99 @ Best Buy *HOT*

I am pretty stoked to see a fair quality headset included in the hot Best Buy and Future Shop deals that just were released. Pick up these Sennheiser HD 335s Headphones for just $69.99, originally $149.99.

As they are twin companies, you get the same deal from both big stores. If the headset sells out at one you can buy it at the other store. Now, this headset is really hard to find in Canada so a lot of the price comparisons you see below are from the USA:

  • $112.86 US @ Amazon.com
  • $119.95 US @ Sennheiser
  • $119.99 US @ Bestbuy.com
  • $168.30 + $ 7.78 @ Amazon.ca Marketplace

That is the beast I could do on a price comparison for this unit, so I am pretty pleased with this deal.

While the title calls these on-ear headphones, the description says “over the ear” on Best Buy Canada. There is a big difference between those two models, so I am curious as to what model this is – I am assuming it is over the ear given the size of the closed ear cups. The right ear-cup rotates, which is perfect for one-ear listening in studio settings or for performances. I had a pair of Shure headphones that cost a LOT more than this with a rotating ear-cup. Even though I do not have a studio, the ear-cup was nice for being able to listen to my music and get interrupted at the same time.

The headset also has these funky features:

  • Integrated omnidirectional microphone
  • In-line remote
  • Embedded volume dial located on the ear cup

Expect amazing sound with 14Hz – 20kHz frequency response, 112dB sensitivity, and 32 ohms impedance. They also passively block out a good deal of noise so you can enjoy your music without the sound of screaming children interrupting the process.

This headset is going to give you a lot for the price you are paying. At only $70, I cannot think of a better headset to spend your money on.

$72 Off Beats by Dr. Dre Pill 2.0 Only $148 @ Visions Electronics *HOT* (EXPIRED)

Hurry over to Visions Electronics and score the highly sought after Beats by Dr. Dre Pill 2.0 come in for Boxing Day. Originally $219.99, the Pill 2.0 is on sale for $148 with free shipping at Visions Electronics.

This is one of the big-ticket sale item so many stores but NONE can beat Visions Electronics price. Unfortunately, the black is only available in store and the silver is not included in the sale. However, you do still have three coulours to choose from including the celebrity inspired pink that is sold out on most websites (like Future Shop and Best Buy)

I price compared this unit with other stores. While also on sale at many other stores, Visions was the best as you can see:

  • $169.99 @ Best Buy Canada
  • $169.99 @ Future Shop Canada
  • $179.94 @ Staples Canada
  • $219.99 @ NCIX.com
  • $197.96 @ Microsoft Store Canada
  • $219.95 @ Apple Store Canada
  • $169.99 @ Amazon Canada

This is a small but loud external speaker. They come with all the features you would expect in a speaker including a seven-hour rechargeable battery and a charge out port so you can charge your phone or MP3 player while listening. The Beat Pills also have a cool tap feature where you can tap two Pills together once to get them to play the same song simultaneously. Tap two pills together twice and one will become a left speaker and the other a right speaker. Enjoy instant surround sound.

As one reviewer says:

This is one of those speakers that you’ll actually want to carry with you. It looks good, fits in your pocket and delivers loud sound relative to its size.

All of these cute little Dr. Dre Pills come with free shipping from Visions Electronics. The Visions sale is massive, and I really look forward to seeing what else they have to offer!

Future Shop: Free $10 GC With $100+ Reserve & Pick-Up in Store

Future Shop: Free $10 GC With $100+ Reserve & Pick Up in Store

Future Shop has a fantastic little promotion on for today and tomorrow. Receive a free $10 gift certificate when you reserve and pick-up your order in store worth over $100.

To receive your gift certificate, your purchase must be online. When you go to checkout, simply choose the reserve for in-store pickup option and choose your closest Future Shop location. My closest Future Shop is about a five-minute drive away, so I actually chose this option with my Sony SRS-X5 speaker. I highly recommend this speaker; I enjoy it almost every day and it is a fantastic mid-priced speaker if you want quality at an affordable price. Originally $199.99, the speaker is currently on sale for $149.99.

Your gift certificate will be emailed to you approximately 10 days after you have picked up your purchase from the store. The certificate has no cash value, and must be used January 9 – 30, 2015 only. There is no minimum purchase required, so you could just purchase a $10 item and get it for free.

One of the other beneficial things about this deal is that the product you want does not have to be available for purchase online. There are two lines with boxes (usually green) under any product. One says “available online” and one says “reservable in-store.” Your item merely needs to be reserveable in-store for this deal to work.

This deal is just really cool as it is from one of the giant companies and it just happens to be one of the big electronics companies. I love electronics and – since our local Best Buy closed down – Future Shop is the place to go.

There are plenty of last minute gifts you may want to pick up this way. Purchase the Nintendo Wii U 32GB Super Mario 3D World Deluxe Set for $299.99 and receive a free $40 gift card AND the free $10 gift certificate when you reserve and then pick up in store.

The gorgeous Dyson Animal Handheld Vacuum (DC34) is on sale for $179.99; you save $50 and get a free $10 gift certificate when you reserve to pick it up in store. Anyone want to buy a Dyson for me?

There is a limit of one gift certificate per person. This promotion is only available for two days. Best Buy Canada – the twin sister of Future Shop – has the same offer on as well.
