    ITunes Free Songs Sampler Code

Posted by Yanyi on April 14, 2010 at 11:00 AM

    ITunes Free Songs Sampler Code

Get 15 free songs from iTunes on Facebook.

iTunes is giving away 15 songs from the House of Soul Sampler. Simply click the blue “Redeem Now” button and get your free songs. This 15 song sampler includes music from Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Lee Fields, The Budos Band, and other great soul artists. I’m usually not much of a Soul music type of person, but good music is good music after all.

Don’t try to copy and paste the codes, because everything you go on, it’s a different code. This sampler code is valid while supplies last and the code expires April 30, 2010.

    • Tyrone the Horrible

    • Oh, What a Mess
    • Ten Little Bunnies

Free Music Download: New Smashing Pumpkin

Get two new Smashing Pumpkin songs free!

All you have to do is click “Download now” to get two new Smashing Pumpkin songs.

    Tracks include:

    • Widow wake my mind
    • A song for a son

For any Smashing Pumpkin fans or music fans in general, here are two free songs, no strings attached. Getting music on the mp3 player is becoming much more of a hassle and more expensive. It’s great to have bands appreciate fans enough to give us free songs.

The songs are good, but my favourite Smashing Pumpkin song is still “Today.”

How To Get A Free Game Download From Big Fish Games (& Free Sudoku)

Posted by Anna on October 4, 2009 at 11:00 PM

How To Get A Free Game Download From Big Fish Games (& Free Sudoku)

I’ve spotted a deal on the Hallmark website, where you can send free e-cards. But what’s really juicy, is that you can send some of them with a free game download from BigFishGames. I’ve gone through the process, and it showed the following link:

You can choose from Mystery Case Files Huntsville, Mystic Inn or Mahjong Towers, plus you get Sudoku for free. I’ve put in my email address and I’m waiting on the coupon codes.

In this promotion, as far as I know, the coupon codes are unique, and can be used only once. So, you will have enter your email address to get the free games. I recommend using a free disposable gmail account, or something like that.

    iTunes Canada: 25 Free Songs!!

Posted by Anna on September 20, 2009 at 11:00 AM

    iTunes Canada: 25 Free Songs!!

If you’d like to add some more free songs to your ever growing music collection, you can actually get 25 free tunes courtesy of iTunes Canada and their facebook group.

You should see the banner on their group page, they call this the “back to school sampler” promotion. It’s actually a facebook app called “free on itunes” and you have to allow it access to your facebook profile.

The songs are preset, you don’t get to choose them. There are bands like Great Lake Swimmers, Dragonette, Inward Eye, The Dudes and Thrice.

This kind of Canadian freebie is great in that it introduces you to lots of little bands that you may never have heard of otherwise, and gives you a chance to broaden your audio horizons!

After you get your free songs, you don’t have to keep on being a fan of the facebook group if you don’t want to, just unfan them (or whatever that process is called)!

    PC Games For Only $5 @ Direct2Drive

Direct2Drive is a digital download service, which I’m sure a few of the gamers have heard of. They are currently celebrating their 5th anniversary, and each week they are selling a load of top PC games for a measly $5!!

The choice of games this week are all action titles, as opposed to strategy titles last week. But last week’s are still on offer, so I will list them all in here!!

    Week 1: Strategy Games

    Week 2: Action Games

    Week 3: RPG/MMO Games

    Week 4: EA Games Galore

    Week 5: War Games

The games listings update every Monday.

There seem to be some excellent titles in there for only $5!! I love Bioshock – if you haven’t tried it, it is definitely worth a go (especially with the sequel coming out soon). Max Payne 2 is OK as well – did you know you can use a hack to make a naked Mona? PC Games For Only $5 @ Direct2Drive

Big Fish Games: Haunted Hotel Free PC Game

Posted by Anna on September 10, 2009 at 8:00 AM

Big Fish Games: Haunted Hotel Free PC Game

After posting the free game from BigFishGames the other day, I have found another one that is worth mentioning. You can get “Haunted Hotel” for free, in conjunction with Barnes and Noble.

The Haunted Hotel game is worth $6.99, so that’s a great little freebie! You must enter your email address, and then BigFishGames will email you a unique coupon code to get the game for free.

Here’s a bit of a description of the game:

After crashing his car on the side of the road, a bewildered traveler finds himself checking in to the Haunted Hotel! In Haunted Hotel, you must explore frightful floors full of spooky rooms to find Hidden Objects in creepy crevices.

Gamezebo have done a review of this game, if you’d like to read it.

Canadian Freebies: Game Download Of Peggle, World Of Warcraft Edition

Posted by Anna on September 8, 2009 at 7:00 PM

Canadian Freebies: Game Download Of Peggle, World Of Warcraft Edition

Here is another nice little video game freebie for your guys! It could waste a few hours of your valuable lifetime… It’s a free download of Peggle, the puzzle game.

I first played Peggle when I got it free with The Orange Box PC Game, from Valve. I thought it was pretty addictive, and I think I actually paid to get the full version, as I had only been sent a trial version. It’s actually quite funny – there are hilarious soundbytes through the game, and great theme music.

I’ve never played the World Of Warcraft edition, but if it is anything like the Half Life edition, it will just use stills and characters from the game to illustrate the gameplay. For example, in the half life edition, there’s nothing like seeing a headcrab trying to zombify a unicorn.

Peggle is a great little puzzle game – if you’re into that, give it a try. Canadian Freebies: Game Download Of Peggle, World Of Warcraft Edition

Canadian Freebies: Free Download Of Mystic Inn PC Game

I’ve spotted a handy BigFishGames coupon code which gets you the PC game “Mystic Inn” for free!

    Coupon Code: MYSTICFREE

The PC game is normally $6.99, but the coupon code discounts it down to zero. Here’s a little bit about the game:

Playing as Daphne, the unfortunate hostess ensnared by the enchanted Mystic Inn, you serve all of the patrons in order to get magic to upgrade the inn. Once you have fully upgraded the establishment, the spell that locks Daphne within her confines can be broken.

If you’d like to read a review, I found one here on Gamezebo. If you play it, I’d love to hear a review from you in the comments below!

Sci Fi Fans: Free Ebook Downloads From Suvudu

Posted by Anna on June 14, 2009 at 11:02 PM

Sci Fi Fans: Free Ebook Downloads From Suvudu

Who likes a nice juicy science-fiction novel to get their teeth into? If you do, you should check this out – Suvudu is a pretty new website. They’ve just launched a “free library” where you can download select sci-fi ebooks for free!

If you want to, you can join the Suvudu email newsletter to be updated when new titles are added, or you can keep an eye on their RSS feed.

It seems that the site is giving away these novels as they are the first in the series. Hopefully you will enjoy the read, and then buy the subsequent titles.

There are loads of excellent books available to download right now! For example:

    • “Lost Tribe of the Sith: Precipice” by John Jackson Miller
    • “Magic Kingdom for Sale–Sold” by Terry Brooks
    • “For Love of Mother Not” (A tale of Pip and Flinx) by Alan Dean Foster
    • “Weapons of Choice” by John Birmingham
    • “Elric, Stealer of Souls” by Michael Moorcock” (w/Forward by Alan Moore)
    • “Kiss of Midnight” by Lara Adrian
    • “Blood Engines” by T.A. Pratt
    • “His Majesty’s Dragon” by Naomi Novik
    • “Settling Accounts: Return Engagements” by Harry Turtledove
    • “Red Mars” by Kim Stanley Robinson
    • “Assassin’s Apprentice” by Robin Hobb

There are loads of really famous authors in there. I’ve read other titles by some of those guys. From the above list, I’ve only read “Magic Kingdom” which was a very good read. I think I have read Red Mars too, but can’t remember very much about it. I’ve joined the mailing list, so I will update this post when I receive new books.

I have a sony ebook reader, so I’m going to download the titles which I don’t have yet, and give them a read! Have you read any of the above books? Opinions? Or maybe you just hate sci-fi with a vengeance?

    Thanks Catherine!

Emusic Canada: Get 25 Free Songs!

Posted by Anna on May 7, 2009 at 10:16 AM

Emusic Canada: Get 25 Free Songs!

This deal has been around for quite a while, but I’m not sure everyone is aware of it. If you join emusic online, you can instantly download 25 free tunes. It’s free music, and it’s not illegally downloaded! There are over 5 million songs to choose from. Whether you like David Bowie or David Gray, there’s probably something for everyone.

The free emusic trial lasts for a week, but you can cancel it at any time. You get to keep the 25 mp3s too.

If you do decide to continue with a subscription after your trial is complete, the songs are still priced pretty reasonably (from 30c). Even after you buy songs, you can keep the tunes you have downloaded. There is no DRM here.

One drawback is that you do have to enter your credit card details before you can join, so I’d make a note that you remember to cancel the service within a week, if you wish to do so.

Remember, you can also get free cashback – $3.90us from Dealguild! Can’t say no to free money! As of today’s exchange rate, that is $4.56 for free just for trying the emusic service! Free tunes and free cash – I’m a happy bunny!
