Amazon Canada: $10 and Under Blu Ray Movies

Amazon Canada is having so many sales on movies right now it is ridiculous! I thought I would pull some of the movie deals for $10 or less:

These Blu-Rays are anywhere from 33% – 73% off their original prices.

For more great deals on movies check out the Up to 57% Off Select Disney Blu-ray Titles sale, the Up to 55% Off Select Blu-Ray titles sale, and the Great Deals on Blu-Ray selection.

Amazon Canada: 36% off Pre-Order of Frozen Planet The Complete Series [Blu-Ray] – $39.99

Posted by Avigayil Morris on March 17, 2012 at 3:00 PM

Amazon Canada: 36% off Pre Order of Frozen Planet The Complete Series [Blu Ray] $39.99

I am such a nut for nature videos! Frozen Planet: The Complete Series is being released the 17th of April, 2012 and it is narrated by the dreamy voice of David Attenborough. Right now you can preorder the blu-ray version from Amazon and save 36% up front! Regularly price will be $62.48 for the blue-ray, and you can pre-order for just $39.99.

Price compared with Chapters who has the pre-order for $46.86. The great thing with Amazon is that when you pre-order you are guaranteed the lowest price before its release. If the price goes up, you get what you ordered it for, and if the price goes down they lower the price you get charged.

For those of you that don’t need the Blu Ray, pre-order the regular DVD for $34.99 @ Amazon Canada (that is 30% off). A price compare with Chapters puts it at $39.98.

I am probably going to get this as it is produced by the same people who created Planet Earth. Also, it has great reviews from when it aired on TV, with each episode receiving between 6.5 – 9 million viewers. I believe there are 7 episodes, and each episode runs an hour. So a good 7 hours of spectacular viewing for only $40!

    Pre-order ends 16th, April 2012

The Source Canada: Xbox 360 4GB Console/Kinect Family Bundle $299.99

Posted by Krista White on March 14, 2012 at 12:00 PM

The Source Canada: Xbox 360 4GB Console/Kinect Family Bundle $299.99

The Source Canada is offering a sweet family bundle right now for a limited time only.  This bundle is on sale for just $299.99.

Here is what you get with this Family Bundle deal:

    • Xbox 360 4 GB console with Active Kinect
    • 3 months Xbox LIVE Gold membership
    • Built in Wi-Fi
    • Kinect Sports game and Kinect Adventures game
    • 1 controller

I did some price comparisons to some other stores and found it at Best buy and EB Games for the same price but they are already sold out. (I don’t think that they included the controller though like The Source does).  The other places I looked (Walmart, Sears, Tiger Direct) had similar bundles but with less games or for more money. This tells me that this bundle is in demand for being sold out so fast and is priced properly to sell. The only place I found it in stock at the several places I looked was The Source Canada.  If you are interested in this gaming bundle, check it out at The Source.

Amazon Canada: British TV & Movies on Sale

Save on British TV shows and movies at Amazon Canada. Many shows are on sale for up to 71% (some may even be higher), so it is a great time to check out your favourites like Doctor Who, Sherlock, the BBC nature collections and more!

I was greeted by this lovely announcement when I went into my Amazon Canada today:

Please note that the price of BBC Natural History Collection 2 [Blu-ray] has decreased from CDN$ 107.10 to CDN$ 83.99 since you placed it in your Shopping Cart.

Boy was I ecstatic: that is a $23.11 drop! I have been wanting this collection for the longest time, ever since we got Planet Earth and Earth: The Biography. The BBC Natural History Collection 2 includes Life, Natures Most Amazing Events, South Pacific and Yellowstone. The original price for the set was $153 so in total you save 45% – pretty awesome.

There are some other good deals too, like:

As I mentioned, some fantastic deals! Let me know what you get.

Chapters Canada 39% Off + $5 Off Game of Thrones The Complete First Season – Now $40.99

Posted by Avigayil Morris on March 12, 2012 at 12:00 PM

Chapters Canada 39% Off + $5 Off Game of Thrones The Complete First Season Now $40.99

The complete first season of Game of Thrones is out on DVD at Chapters Canada, and on sale for $45.99, which is 39% off the regular price of $74.98. Plus, take an extra $5 off with coupon code MARCH032012 and suddenly this is the best price in town for only $40.99.

I price compared with Amazon Canada where it is priced at $44.99. You are saving an additional $4, which is equivalent to 10% the sale price.

This series is well loved so far, with great ratings like this one from Amazon:

I will freely admit to not being a fan of many HBO shows. I loved Entourage, but that was it for my HBO fandom. Then along comes Game of Thrones. As an avid sci-fi and fantasy fan, I was a little skeptical…but I have to admit that this show was brilliant from top to bottom. The sets, the storyline…the acting. All top notch!

I have never seen the show, have you?

Best Buy Canada: March Movie Madness Movies starting at just $3.99

Best Buy has a great deal on until 22nd March for all of those movie lovers out there.  They have over 100 titles on sale for their March Movie Madness starting as low as just $3.99.

There are 4 different categories to choose from:

There is a really good mix of old and new movies and TV shows in all of the categories. A few of my favorite movies stood out in this sale.  I love the movie Fool’s Gold on for $3.99.  It has comedy, action, romance and Matthew McConaughey so you can’t lose!  Another favorite of mine is Superbad on for $9.99 Blu-ray. I know it is supposed to be a teen flick but it is still one of the funniest movies I have ever watched. These are just a couple of my taste in movies and TV shows but they really do have a great selection of whatever genre you might want to watch.

Amazon Canada: Academy Award Nominated & Winners up to 65% Off

With the Academy Awards happening last night, Amazon Canada has a great sale on Academy Award winners and nominated movies right now.  Select DVD and Blu-rays are on sale for up to 65% off the regular prices.

It’s too often that websites put movies on sale that are not very popular just to get rid of too much stock.  That is why I am excited about this deal.  Not only are the movies recognized as being the best of the best but also there were a lot of movies that came out this year that I wanted to see but just didn’t have the time to go and see in the theaters.  That makes this sale a win/win situation!  One of those movies that I heard was really great was The Tree of Life on sale for just $12.99 (regular price is $36.99).  I am also interested in seeing Moneyball on sale for $15.99 (regular price is $35.99).  I have heard that is was such a great movie by both men and women.

Posted by Avigayil Morris on February 26, 2012 at 2:30 PM

eBay Canada: 17 Studio Ghibli Movie Collection $49.99 US + Free Shipping

I just bought this deal and had to share it with you. A seller on eBay is selling a Studio Ghibli Movie Collection: complete with 17 of their most famous movies for only $49.99 with free shipping to Canada.  That is 17 movies for $49.99 = $2.94 a movie!

These movies are dubbed in english and come with english subtitles. Thanks to my friends Brandon for pointing this deal out to me: he knows I am such an anime geek.

    About collection:

    • 6 DVD disks + 1 CD
    • All regions
    • English and Japanese stereo , Dolby Digital ( ALL 17 MOVIES WITH ENGLISH AUDIO )
    • Subtitles: English

This collection has such famous movies as Princess Mononoke, My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki’s Delivery Service, Spirited Away, Nausica, Ponyo and many more. It includes a bonus CD that is the Studio Ghibli Concert – 25th anniversary.

There are 12 sets available currently.

I price compared with Amazon Canada and you will make up the cost with just 3 movies: for example Princess Mononoko is $13.99, Spirited Away is $19.60 and My Neighbor Totoro is also $19.60. With just 3 movies from Amazon Canada you are surpassing the cost of the entire 17 movie collection.
