ComputerValley: Logitech MK120 Keyboard & Mouse $17 & Free Shipping

ComputerValley: Logitech MK120 Keyboard & Mouse $17 & Free Shipping

If you need both a mouse and keyboard, look no further than the Logitech MK120 mouse and keyboard combination. Originally $20.99, the set is now on sale for $16.99 with free shipping.

I found the Logitech MK120 Keyboard and Mouse at the following retailers for:

  • $18.99 @ Dell Canada
  • $19.99 + $7.99 @ Newegg.ca
  • $24.99 + shipping @ TigerDirect.ca
  • $24.99 + FS on $49 @ Logitech
  • $19.99 + shipping @ Future Shop (OOS)

While Dell looks promising, Computer Valley Canada has the best price by several dollars and offers free ground shipping on the wired keyboard and mouse combination. The keyboard is also spill resistant and comes with sturdy tilt legs and durable keys. I do find that no matter how tough keys are made, I always seem to wear through one. Currently, I have worn through the E on my laptop keyboard and the M is looking a little sketchy.

As to be expected, the set is fairly basic. You basicly need to plug it in and it is good to go. The mouse is just your average high-definition mouse with a scroll-wheel in the middle. From the look of it, it should feel all right for both right and left handed people as it appears to have a fairly balanced design.

The full-size keyboard with full-size F-keys and number pad will help you type faster and longer with comfort. The keys are low profile and whisper-quiet so you do not drive yourself or your roommate to drink with that annoying ‘clack clack’. The standard layout will also be familiar to you. One review on Future Shop said:

Some people may think that with the low price it could be garbage, but it’s not. Very nice feel to both the keyboard and mouse, they are plug and play, just have to wait the 20 seconds for windows to install the drivers for them and it’s all good to go. I’ll definitely recommend this set to anyone that is looking for a keyboard and mouse just because the quality is there and the price is right.

The keyboard and mouse are still factory sealed. While they do not say how many are available, they are over 10 units. Overall, 20% off a keyboard does not seem like much but when you think of getting both a keyboard and a mouse for only $17 with free shipping, I do think this is a great offer.

HP Store: $10 Mice, $20 Bluetooth Speakers & $10 Computer Speakers with Free Shipping

Posted by on January 23, 2015 at 1:00 PM

HP Store: $10 Mice, $20 Bluetooth Speakers & $10 Computer Speakers with Free Shipping

The HP Store has a fantastic little clearance sale on right now for computers and accessories. I favour the accessories, as the deals seem to be better. Enjoy computer mice for only $9.99 each, Bluetooth speakers on sale from $49.99 down to $19.99, and a pair of compact speakers from $19.99 down to $9.99. Best of all, everything in the clearance section ships for free.

There are two different mice on sale at HP. The best deal is on this HP Z3600 Black Wireless Mouse, which was $24.99 and is now on sale for $9.99. A friend of mine just had to buy a mouse recently, and I was asking him if it was ‘urgent’ or if he could wait until I ordered one in for him. Unfortunately, it was urgent. Therefore, he ended up paying $20 for a mouse in store (still saved $10). You just rarely see good quality mice for $10 in store. The second sale mouse is the ever cute HP Z3600 Wireless Pink Mouse – same model number but in pink. This mouse was $14.99, and is now $9.99. We saw the white Z3600 drop down to this price for Black Friday, but this is a first for these colours.

Bluetooth Speakers

The sale on these colour-popping HP S6000 Bluetooth Speakers is my favourite deal of the HP clearance sale. The speaker comes in orange (see previous link), Purple, or black. Originally $49.99 each, these mini portable Bluetooth speakers are now on sale for $19.99. The speakers will wirelessly pair with your android or Apple device reliably up to 30 feet away. I need one in orange and one in purple because those colours are just beautiful! In addition, they are a lot harder to misplace accidentally than a black one would be.

Wired Speakers

Last but not least. There is a pair of HP Compact 2.0 Speakers perfect for improving the sound on your laptop or desktop computer. They fit in the balm of your hand, so they will not take up much room on your desk. The small size also makes them perfect for travel – take these speakers with you when you go. They may be small, but they sound much better than the average built-in laptop speakers do. Originally $19.99, they are now on sale for $9.99.

No matter what you purchase, enjoy free shipping on your entire order.

The Source Coupon Code: $20 Off $100 Purchase & Free Shipping on $25

Posted by on January 21, 2015 at 4:30 PM

The Source Coupon Code: $20 Off $100 Purchase & Free Shipping on $25

If you missed our exclusive coupon code for $20 off $100 (for 100 people), then you are in luck. The Source Canada has released a new coupon code for $20 off $100.

Click here to shop @ The Source Canada now

  • Coupon Code: AIRMILES100
  • Discount: $20 off $100
  • Expiry: 31st January 2015

The promo code excludes usual items like gift cards, cellular cards, and the like. However, there are some very good deals if you play your cards right. This Xbox One 500GB console with Kinect and Ryse: Son of Rome is currently on sale from $399.99 down to $349.99. This matches Boxing Day prices we saw at other retailers selling refurbished Xbox One consoles. However, after coupon code you can buy the refurbished console with kinect and game for just $329.99. That is the cheapest I have seen it anywhere. The console will come with a three-month manufacturer’s warranty, but you have the option of extending the warranty through Advantage.

Bose is one of those brands that rarely ever goes on sale. However, they are not excluded from this coupon code so you can pick out some small shiny Bose sound system or pair of headphones to receive $20 off. I chose the new Bose SoundLink Color Bluetooth Speaker that retails for $139.99. After coupon code, the SoundLink came down to $119.99 in my cart. This speaker is full price ($139.99) at both Best Buy Canada and Future Shop. Personally, I have wanted the BOSE Soundlink Mini Bluetooth Speaker for a coon’s age but was never willing to spend over $200 on it. The classic Bose speaker retails for $219.99, and comes down to $199.99 after coupon.

I am afraid I do not know much about tablets these days, but there is a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 SM-T210 7″ dual-core 8GB tablet on sale right now as it is open box. The sale price is $129.96, and the coupon brings this tablet down to $109.96. I may not know much about this brand of tablets, but just over $100 for a brand name tablet with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean seems like a good deal. The product is ‘open box’ so the box may be damaged but the product is in perfect shape. The tablet comes with a full one-year warranty as well.

I think all of these are very good tech deals and worth looking at if you are in the market for any of the products mentioned above. Receive free shipping on orders of $25 or more. For this and future Source coupon codes, visit our forum.

Microsoft Store: $200 Off Nokia Lumia 1020 – Now $349

Posted by on January 20, 2015 at 1:30 PM

Microsoft Store: $200 Off Nokia Lumia 1020 Now $349

The Microsoft Store is offering an unlocked Nokia Lumia 1020 for $200 off its retail price. Originally $549, the phone is now on sale for $349 with no contract.

This phone comes with two colour options: black or yellow. The black is already out of stock, but could be restocked as this deal goes into February. While the yellow is a bit flamboyant in terms of colour, that has its benefits. First, it will be a lot harder to misplace your phone. In addition, if you do misplace your phone, it will be easier to find a bright yellow device than a black phone.

The Nokia Lumia has a 4.5-inch PureMotion HD+ screen with the phone being slightly larger. The 41-megapixel camera will take good quality selfies and pictures of your cat while the 32 GB storage will handle all the apps you can load on it (along with a good supply of pictures). The phone is Windows 8.1 ready. That means it comes with Windows 8 and you need to run the update when you receive the phone.

Reviews are mostly positive, with a few negative and mediocre thrown in for a good mix. One reviewer said:

love this. wanted an alternative to android that performed well. got it in this beauty. the photos are amazing and the item is not as complex and fast as a lot of other phones, but it delivers reliable and beautiful service to windows users.

Some people have experienced issues with the battery. Several reviewers say that the phone can eat through 70% of its battery on days of heavy use. That appears to be the primary complaint from the few people who were very dissatisfied with the phone. However, most reviewers actually love the phone. 19/28 reviews are for a full 5/5 stars and even with the negative reviews, the phone still averages a 4.1/5 star rating.

While yellow might not be my first choice for a phone – oh wait, it would match my car! – this is still a very good deal on an unlocked phone with no contract. Take this phone to your favourite carrier and feel free to move carriers when you see a better deal. That is what I do with my phone.

Receive free shipping on all orders at Microsoft Canada.

Amazon.ca: NatureBright Light and Ion Therapy Lamp Was $140 | Now $84

Posted by on January 18, 2015 at 1:30 PM

Amazon.ca: NatureBright Light and Ion Therapy Lamp Was $140 | Now $84

Capitalize on this therapy lamp deal at Amazon Canada to chase away the winter blues. The NatureBright SunTouch Plus Light and Ion Therapy Lamp is on sale from $139.99 down to $83.99.

The same lamp is $189.99 at Sears.ca.

These lamps are traditionally used for treating SAD: seasonal effective disorder. However, they can also help people who just get a bit moody or need some light after days of cloudy skies or rain. Many people find it useful for treating sleep difficulties, low moods, fatigue caused by irregular work shifts, jet leg, and other symptoms.

The lamp has a 10,000 LUX light, which is necessary for effective therapy. According to Amazon Canada, “The Sun Touch Plus produces 17000 Kelvin which makes it the highest rated Kelvin light therapy device on the market and the closest to actual blue sky.”

We bought this light back in December as weeks of rain left everyone out of sorts, especially my partner. You are supposed to sit within 10 – 12 inches of the light, as the farther you get away the less effective the light will be. I chose this light because it has the highest reviews of any of the light therapy lamps and it was the highest rated Kelvin therapy device I could find.

The reviews for this lamp are far more positive than on other lamps. Out of 74 reviews, 47 of them give the lamp a solid 5/5 star rating. Overall, the lamp rates 4.4/5 stars. One reviewer said:

I bought this lamp after feeling really blue and testing with serious depression. I use the lamp every morning and take Vitamin D supplements. I have not had to take any other medications!! I felt better after only a couple of days and those around me have said the difference was dramatic right away. I can tell the difference on days when I don’t get to use my lamp.

You should use the lamp for a half our every day, faithfully, so the affect can build up in your system. Sporadic use will not achieve the desired outcome.

For anyone that suffers with the seasonal blues, has sleeping problems, works night shift, or travels frequently – this is a good alternative to other forms of medication. The lamp takes up only a small amount of space and only requires 30 minutes of your time per day. Use it while you have breakfast and read your email.

Sennheiser Collapsible Noise-Cancelling Headphones Were $280 Now $98 & Free Shipping @ Amazon!

Posted by on January 18, 2015 at 9:59 AM

Sennheiser Collapsible Noise Cancelling Headphones Were $280 Now $98 & Free Shipping @ Amazon!

From deals on office chairs to bargains on headphones! This time, we’re heading over to Amazon.ca where they are selling a set of Sennheiser headphones at a superb price. The Sennheiser PXC 250 II Collapsible Noise-Cancelling Headphones have an original price tag of $279.99… that’s pretty high and I don’t think you or I would actually pay that. But, they’re on offer and you can grab these headphones for only $98 with free shipping right now.

The price of these particular headphones on Amazon does seem to fluctuate up and down quite a bit. I’ve seen them drop to $98 before but it wasn’t for long. They did drop to $95 back in April, but that was quite a while ago. $98 is a really sweet price point for this item.

When reading the spec on these Sennheiser headphones, the first bullet point made me smile:

Neodymium magnets and Duofol diaphragms for audiophile grade performance.

I had to go out of my way and google what these things meant! Well, Wikipedia helpfully tells me that:

A neodymium magnet is the most widely used type of rare-earth magnet, is a permanent magnet made from an alloy of neodymium, iron and boron to form the Nd2Fe14B tetragonal crystalline structure.

Whoop for science! Apparently it’s pretty common for these to be used in headphones and loudspeakers, as well as a wealth of other appliances, such as your power steering! But I know you are curious, what about the Duofol diaphragms?

DuoFol diaphragm provides a wide sound stage with ultra-fast response and rest times.

Now, aren’t we more enlightened?

Regardless of the technology, these sound like a great price on a super quality set of headphones from Sennheiser.

When I first saw the image of these Sennheiser headphones, I thought they looked very flimsy. I think that’s probably not true though – they’re compact because they are collapsible. These headphones would be absolutely ideal for travelling and heading through airports, etc. Not to mention the noise-cancelling effect when travelling through a busy airport!

Future Shop: Monster Adidas Headphones Were $250 | Now $130

Posted by on January 16, 2015 at 1:43 PM

Future Shop: Monster Adidas Headphones Were $250 | Now $130

If a new headset is in the budget for this year, then toddle on over to Future Shop for a brand new pair of Monster ADIDAS Over-Ear Sound Isolating Headphones. Originally $249.99, the headphones are now on sale for $129.99.

This deal is also available at Best Buy if the headsets sell out at Future Shop. Price comparing the Monster Adidas headphones proved more difficult than I expected. They appear to be rather difficult to find in Canada – new. The only Canadian online retailer with the headsets in stock is Sport Chek; they sell the Monster Adidas headphones for $279.99 each. I found an old cached page from Adidas US where the company themselves had the headset on sale for $224 US, but they are no longer available. Secondary sellers on Amazon.com start their prices at $200 US. eBay prices are all over depending on how new, with box, and other things but you will certainly be paying far more for a new headset off of eBay with taxes and duties added on.

The headset comes in three colour combinations:

  • blue/white
  • black/white
  • white/black

I have to say that the blue is my least favourite colour while the other two look very nice in my opinion. Now, we do not always buy headphones for the aesthetics so here are some of their cool features. The ADIDAS Monster headphones feature MusicShare dual ports that allow you to link multiple MusicShare-compatible headphones together so you all can listen to the same music together. This beats sharing earbuds – trust me. Each headset has passive noise isolation to block out environmental distractions. The cable comes with ControlTalk allowing you to control your music playback and your calls when connected to an Apple device.

The headset also folds up easily for storage. This may be a small thing, but for anyone who loves to wear headsets rather than earbuds – transportation is very important. I value quality of sound over everything. Second, I would say lightness is important, as I like to wear my headset for long periods. However, third would be transportability. I need to be able to take my headset with me without it being awkward or there is really no point in owning it.

This is a cool headset at a great price. Receive free shipping on orders of $25 or more. I can see these selling out quickly.

Free Game ($40 Value) with AMD APU Purchase @ Newegg.ca

Free Game ($40 Value) with AMD APU Purchase @ Newegg.ca

Receive a free game valued at $39.99 when you purchase select AMD APUs from Newegg.ca.

The cheapest AMD processor is already sold out, so hop your bottom over to Newegg Canada before the next cheapest is sold. Out. I recommend the AMD A8-7600 Kaveri Quad-Core 3.1GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) Socket FM2+ 65W Desktop Processor Radeon R7 series as it is on sale from $129.99 down to $114.99. I am not sure if shipping varies, but to my postal code on Vancouver Island, it would cost an additional $10.49. I checked on reviews and the processor averages 4/5 with 20 reviews. One reviewer said:

This is one of the best values of the processor world. I haven’t encountered a game I couldn’t play yet. Admittedly most of my games are from last year or 2012… but I believe with fast memory this processor can handle just about anything…

Now, you will get your choice of a free game with your purchase. You can choose from:

  • Murdered: Soul Suspect
  • LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham
  • Sniper Elite 3

These are all PC games valued at $39.99 each. You do not need to pick the game when you checkout at Newegg.ca. Rather, when you redeem the code for the free game you will then choose which game to buy. Here is how to get your free game after you have purchased the AMD processor of your choice.

  1. Go to www.AMD.com/amdrewards
  2. Sign in or create an account
  3. Follow the instructions to redeem your offer with the code you are provided

LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham is the biggest draw in this list of games. The game is currently $29.99 USD on Steam Powered, and you know how the Canadian dollar is currently tanking. Convert that over to Canadian and it is nearly $36. This is a really cool action-adventure game where you play a super-hero trying to defeat the evil Brainiac who shrinks worlds to add them to his collection of miniatures. Reviews on the game are positively brilliant:

In brightest day, in blackest night,
I thought this game would be alright.
My expectations were passed with might,
You’ll give it a try, if you’re fairly bright.

Whoever wrote that is a genius. I would love to try that game out as I enjoy playing Injustice, which is another DC world game of battling with super heroes and super villains. This just involves Lego, and space, and rings.

Future Shop: FREE iLuv Portable Speaker Dock with $50 Speaker Purchase

Future Shop: FREE iLuv Portable Speaker Dock with $50 Speaker Purchase

Receive a free iLuv Modern Box Aux-in Portable Speaker Dock when you purchase a $50 or more portable speaker at Future Shop. This little speaker dock is valued at $9.99 (but is on sale for $5.99) right now. Depending on how you look at it, you are receiving a $6 or $10 freebie with purchase.

You will need to add the iLuv Portable Speaker Dock to your cart for it to become discounted at checkout. Also, and this is important, the speaker you purchase must cost $50 or more. You cannot load up your cart with speakers that cost under that for a total of $50 or more. The speaker you purchase must itself cost $50 or more for you to receive the free iLuv Speaker Dock.

Now, there are actually some very fine deals on portable speakers right now at Future Shop. The Marley Liberate Bluetooth Speaker (EM-JA005-MI) – Black/Grey is 50% off. The rugged design has a two-layer grill and REWIND fabric. Wirelessly connect to the speaker from up to 30 feet away and enjoy your music for up to six hours on a single charge. Originally $129.99, the speaker is on sale for $64.99.

The Logitech X300 Bluetooth Speaker – Black/Brown is still available online whereas the Purple is only available for reservation in stores. This basic little unit originally cost $79.99, but it is now on sale for $59.99. Enjoy five hours of music before the device needs to recharge via a micro-usb cable. While I would generally not think of Logitech for a portable speaker but most the reviews think this is a decent unit for the price.

This Monster Superstar Wireless Speaker – Black/Grey is another very good buy. Originally $139.99, the speaker is now only $99.99. Reviewers positively rave about the speaker; here are just a couple of the reviews:

For the amount I paid for it, I could not ask for anything else out of this speaker. This is the best value for your money (maybe even under priced because it’s just that good).

Love this unit so much, that I give them as gifts… Very impressive for the size and great value for the price. First purchased 3 years ago… That speaker has travelled everywhere with me… Camping, beaching, hiking, riding… Its been a great companion!

Seriously, people rave about this think. For $100, you probably cannot do better. The extra gift with purchase is just a nice little bonus on the side.

Receive free shipping on orders of $25 or more.

67% Off Monster DNA Earphones – Was $132 | Now $44 @ Amazon Canada (+ Free Shipping) (EXPIRED)

Posted by on January 12, 2015 at 9:40 PM

67% Off Monster DNA Earphones Was $132 | Now $44 @ Amazon Canada (+ Free Shipping) (EXPIRED)

Originally, I was going to blog about a deal on the Monster DNA in-ear headphones at Chapters Indigo as they’re on sale for $60 (reg. $120) but then I spotted these exact same headphones for an even lower price tag of just $43.65 at Amazon! Plus, shipping is free.

Everywhere, these earphones are referred to as both “headphones” and “earphones” but this is actually quite misleading as they don’t go over the head and are indeed just earphones!

Here’s a review:

Very very nice sound and great noise cancelling; used the standard fit ear plugs for 60 minutes of listening on iPhone and iPod. Quite satisfied so far with this choice. Just got it for 42 CAD and this price point it is a great value for money deal.

You can read about it on Amazon’s site but interestingly enough, the first part of that review included a line about the packaging and it being a nice experience. Personally, I buy things for the products themselves and tend to discard the package unless I think that I may have a chance at re-selling it a year or two later but all in all, the packaging shouldn’t be a reason not to get these earphones. In any case, according to the reviewer, the packaging is very much in-line with Apple’s way of wrapping their products, so you can expect a nice box with cleanly wrapped earphones.

This bring me to my next point, these earphones feature Apple ControlTalk, which should provide you with calls that are crystal clear. Since they feature an Apple control, this also means that these earphones will be iPhone friendly. No worries if you have an Android device as these will work with those devices as well.

Another major perk is that the wire is tangle free. I can not even begin to tell you how many times I have pulled out my earphones only to shove them back in my purse in frustration as I waited for the subway.

At Best Buy, these same earphones are actually priced as high as $99.99! Here’s a review I find on their site:

I just got them for the best price ever and white ones and the sound quality awesome mid nice high crisp lows deep and base is there definitely buy if looking for very very good quality in-ear headphones

Today Only: Canon Pixma MX532 All-In-One Printer Just $50 (Was $130) @ Future Shop Canada

Posted by on January 8, 2015 at 12:30 PM

Today Only: Canon Pixma MX532 All In One Printer Just $50 (Was $130) @ Future Shop Canada

Need a printer? Then today only, you can get the Canon Pixma MX552 all-in-one printer on sale for $49.99 at Future Shop. It was originally priced at $129.99. With the $7.75 environmental handling fee, this printer comes up to $57.74 before tax. You will also get it shipped for free as Future Shop automatically ships all orders over $25 free of charge.

This is an all-in-one printer, which means that it can print, scan, copy and fax.

One of the main specs to look at when choosing a printer is the printer speed. The Canon Pixma MX552 prints at a speed of 9.7PPM (pages per minute) in black and 5.5PPM in colour. For just $50, this is actually quite fast!

To save on paper, you can also set it to automatically print on both sides.

This printer has built-in Wi-Fi, which means that all you need to do is plug in your Wi-Fi password it and then you will be able to quickly and convenient print using your network.

Cloud printing will also allow you to print directly from your smart phone. Least you think this isn’t a handy feature, it actually really is. Every morning, I check my e-mails using my iPhone and very often, I get a printable coupon from stores like The Children Place. So instead of having to re-log into my e-mail on my laptop, I just open the printable coupon on my phone and print it using the cloud service — much less hassle this way and no worries about potentially forgetting to print the coupon on my laptop!

Price comparing, I found this same printer for $59.99 at Best Buy and London Drugs. The Source is selling it for $69.99. Reviews appear to be somewhat mixed but here’s one that sums up this printer’s functionality well:

The MX532 is a great printer for light home-office use. It has very good quality prints, scans very well, and faxes reliably. As another reviewer remarked about the previous model (MX-522), you “don’t need at Ph.D. to use it.” Wireless set-up was a snap and after downloading the drivers and programs from the included CD on two laptops (one with Windows 7 and one with Windows 8), wireless set up for each took 30 seconds.

Philips Bluetooth Speaker Was $70 | Now $30 @ Bestbuy.ca

Philips Bluetooth Speaker Was $70 | Now $30 @ Bestbuy.ca

Best Buy Canada has discounted the Philips SBT75 Bluetooth Speaker from $69.99 down to just $29.99. The red version is still in stock and waiting to find its way into your cart. Receive free shipping on the Philips speaker as the unit costs over $25.

This is an older model speaker, I assume, as no one really has it in stock anymore. When trying to price compare, I found it from a Marketplace seller on Amazon Canada for $107 plus shipping and from Amazon.com for $55.48 US in white. They also had black, but it was more expensive. Given these few price comparisons, I figured that best buy’s deal was worthy of a little attention.

This little speaker uses Bluetooth technology to wirelessly stream music between your music player and the speaker system. The built in lithium battery lasts up to five hours and can be recharged via the included USB cable. Charge the portable Philips speaker off your laptop or use a USB to wall charger connection like the Anker 40W 5-Port Family-Sized Desktop USB Charger I have mentioned a couple times before. I find it is faster to charge my wireless speakers using a wall charger.

I scouted out Amazon.com for reviews. With 114 reviews, the Philips SBT75 Bluetooth Speaker averages a 4.2/5 stars. One reviewer said:

I found this speaker at Best Buy on clearance for under $40. I thought when I purchased it that it would sound completely crappy, however, it sounds good. It doesn’t sound like an amazing home stereo system, but rather a really good sounding small speaker. It seems to last about 5 or 6 hours on a charge.

Do note that this speaker does not work for conference calls – you cannot use this for audio ‘in’ is my assumption. However, for the price it looks like a great purchase to play your tunes. The small size and five hour battery life allows you to throw it in your backpack, purse, or car and take it with you. I also like the colour: black is so easy to miss and white gets dirty very quickly. Red stands out and is noticed.

If you own this little speaker system, drop us a comment to tell us what you think of the unit.

Costco: Omron Fat Loss Monitor Was $30 | Now $23 & Free Shipping

Costco: Omron Fat Loss Monitor Was $30 | Now $23 & Free Shipping

The top resolution of every New Year is to get in shape and lose weight. Well, my New Year’s resolution is a bit different: it is to not have weight loss as a resolution next year. That means I have some work to do! This Omrom Fat loss Monitor is a great little device to help me keep on track. Originally $29.99, the Omrom monitor is on sale for $22.99 with free shipping.

When I price compared this unit with other stores, my research revealed that many companies had this monitor on sale. London Drugs lists the Omron for $39.99 retail, and they have it on sale for $24.99 in store only. Well.ca has the same Omron Fat Loss Monitor, which they call a Body Fat Analyzer, priced at $34.99. Only Amazon.ca matches Costco’s price at $22.99 (was $36.40) but you are below Amazon’s free shipping minimum. The best deal is still through Costco.

This device measures your body fat percentage and body mass. You may wonder why you would want this device rather than a scale. Well, a scale can only measure weight. Muscle, fat, bone, vitals, etc. are all weight. When you lose weight, you want to lose fat – not muscle. Body fat is a better indicator of overall health than your weight. Drop your fixation with the scale and embrace a healthier you.

The machine accommodates up to nine personal profiles for your entire family (and a few friends) to use the device. In addition, an athletic mode will provide results that are more accurate for athletes. The reviews I have read on this device are overwhelmingly positive:

Does what it says. I’m finding it’s on par with callipers as far as accuracy goes. Follow the instructions and be mindful of your daily fluctuations in hydration. This tool will give you a good idea whether or not you’re on the right path.

I have used this product in the past prior to making the purchase. It provides me with reliable data when accessing my clients. I must say that the data is not as accurate as the floor models that requires a bare feet reading with an electronic read-out. Nevertheless, I am pleased with my purchase.

This is the perfect little device if you are working on a healthier you this coming year.

Future Shop Canada: 43% Off Logitech Anywhere MX Optical Mouse – Was $70 | Now $40

Future Shop Canada: 43% Off Logitech Anywhere MX Optical Mouse Was $70 | Now $40

A month ago, I blogged about the Logitech MX mouse being on sale for $50 at Best Buy. Even then, that was a fantastic price for this awesome mouse but now, Future Shop is offering it for an even lower price tag of just $39.99 (reg. $69.99). As Future Shop ships orders over $25 for free,  you’re also sure to get this mouse shipped for free as well.

Have you ever heard of a carrying pouch being included with a mouse? This is perhaps more common than I think but I have actually never heard of such a thing and yet, this one does! It also comes with 2 AA batteries and features the following specs:

  • Darkfield laser tracking that can be used on almost any surface, including glass
  • Compact & ergonomic design
  • Hyper-fast scrolling
  • 2.4GHz wireless

As far as reviews go, there are nearly 20 with an overall rating of 3.8/5 stars. Just the fact that there are nearly 20 reviews is a good indication of this mouse’s potential as being a good product. Certain reviewers have reported that this mouse’s button fall off but then there are plenty of other reviews claiming that this is the best mouse that they have ever owned.

So it’s a bit of a hit or miss perhaps, but here’s one review that might sway you. It’s somewhat lengthy, but if you’re in need of a new mouse and are considering this one, then it’s worth the read:

Pressing the middle wheel to change the “feel” is an INCREDIBLY useful feature if you’re scrolling through a lot of stuff. If you change it to smooth, the scroll speed goes 10 times faster, I use this a lot and LOVE it. As far as the little button behind the wheel being the middle mouse button, after 15 minutes of readjusting to the location you no longer realize where it is. The features and feel of the scroll wheel are worth the adjustment.

Works as promised on glass perfectly, overall construction and feel is top notch. Overall the best mouse I have ever used. Cannot comment on the receiver issues, as I’ve only had the mouse for a year and have no issues with it.

Performing a quick price comparison, I found the Logitech Anywhere MX mouse priced at $59.99 at Newegg and as high as $69.99 at Best Buy.

Amazon Canada: 49% Off WD My Passport 500MB Portable Hard Drive – Was $88 | Now $45 (EXPIRED)

Amazon Canada: 49% Off WD My Passport 500MB Portable Hard Drive Was $88 | Now $45 (EXPIRED)

Looking for a bit more memory space at a cheap price? Then check out Amazon’s deal on the WD My Passport 500GB external hard drive. It’s down to just $44.99 instead of its regular price of $87.99 (49% off). Shipping is also free.

When looking up portable external hard drives, I tend to search for some that have the most memory for the cheapest price tag possible. This time around, I decided to tell you about this deal because as much as say, a 5TB hard drive may be handy for all that extra storage, I’m sure that many of you just don’t even necessarily need that much.

I use a WD My Passport portable hard drive to store movies, TV shows, pictures and extra files on my computer in order to make my desktop run faster. However, a large media collection is fun to look at but when are you ever going to watch half of what you have? So a 500mb portable hard drive may actually be perfect, especially since it’s on sale and budget friendly.

In fact, I was recently considering upgrading to a Seagate hard drive but I was actually deterred by how big and bulky it looked. This may be a silly factor to consider as it’s what is on the inside that matters but the WD My Passport’s appearance is actually what I love about it the most as it’s sleek and super portable. The only drawback is that it doesn’t come with any kind of protective pouch or case but you could easily just slip it into one from the dollar store.

Here’s a review I found for the WD My Passport portable hard drive:

Does exactly what I need it to do – store backup data. Password protection is great.

If you want a portable external hard drive with a bit more memory, then check out the 1TB WD My Passport Ultra. Originally priced at $109.99, it’s now on sale for $69 (37% off). This one actually an overwhelming number of positive reviews: over 115 with a total of 4.6/5 stars!

Since Amazon ships all orders over $25 for free, you’re sure to get either one of these portable hard drive shipped for free as well.
