Pricing Errors? Monitors from $8, Projectors From $23, TVs from $40 @ ComputerValley & DirectDial (EXPIRED)

Posted by on August 31, 2014 at 3:13 PM

Pricing Errors? Monitors from $8, Projectors From $23, TVs from $40 @ ComputerValley & DirectDial (EXPIRED)

There seems to be some funny stuff going on at DirectDial and ComputerValley, and we are assuming some pricing errors. Either way, we are seeing electronics for mindbogglingly low prices. These prices are really too good to be true, but we thought we would give you a chance to purchase them and see if you actually got your order.

Monitors:

You cannot get a better deal on a monitor than $8. The NEC Display AccuSync AS241W 24″ LED LCD Monitor is just $8 (save $197) at DirectDigital. If this one sells out (or gets corrected), you can find the same NEC Display AccuSync AS241W 24″ Monitor at ComputerValley for $10.99. It has a 16:9 aspect ration with a maximum 1920 x 1080 resolution. I could list off the entire specs but I am pretty sure you only care about the price as almost any specs on a monitor are worth that price.

Televisions:

Get a brand new, NEC Display E464 46″ 1080p LED-LCD TV for just $39.99. That is full HD and features edge-lit LED backlighting for reduced power consumption. The NEC Display V423-AVT 42″ 1080p LED-LCD TV  is just $46.99 with LED backlighting and integrated temperature sensors and fans. A third TV deal for under $100 is the NEC Display V463-AVT 46″ 1080p LED-LCD TV for just $59.99.The TV includes built-in 10W speakers and an Open Pluggable Specification (OPS)-compliant expansion slot. I am not really sure anyone cares much about the stats at this point as all I would be thinking, and I am sure you are, is that I just mentioned three full HD TVs over 40″ that are listed for under $60. Did your brain just freeze? There are a myriad of TV deals (errors) that you can find through this link here.

Projectors:

The same projector is on sale at both ComputerValley and DirectDial. At DirectDial, save $706 off this NEC Display LCD Projector – 720p – HDTV – 16:10. Purchase it for only $23 right now. This is the one thing I would consider trying my luck at as I would love to start watching movies on a projector. If this one sells out, just hop over to ComputerValley to pick up the same projector for $34.99.

As we mentioned above, we beleive this is a pricing error on NEC Display products that appears to be hitting a few stores. Buying any of these products is sort of like rolling the dice, who knows if they will fulfill your order or not! If you do place an order, let us know what happens!

Logitech Z130 Speakers Only $9 @ Amazon.ca (EXPIRED)

Posted by on August 31, 2014 at 12:00 PM

Logitech Z130 Speakers Only $9 @ Amazon.ca (EXPIRED)

Over on Amazon.ca, there’s a sweet deal on a little set of Logitech Z130 Speakers. These speakers are down from $29.99 to only $9 right now!

As I am sure most of you are aware, you only get free shipping when your Amazon.ca order is $25 or more, so these speakers don’t qualify for free shipping if you buy them on their own. You’d have to add some other items to your cart too. With Amazon, it’s easy to find things you need to make an order up to $25.

However, if you have the Amazon Prime student deal, you’ll get free shipping on any order. Keep that in mind if you are a student!

A few notes about these particular speakers:

  • 5 watts of power, stereo sound
  • Low-profile design
  • On-speaker volume & power controls & jack
  • 3.5mm jack input for MP3, DVD, CD player
  • Works with Windows and Mac OS

So, you can see that these are very handy little devices! Obviously at this price point and specification, they’re not going to produce room shaking sound, but they’d be ideal for a few casual tunes, some light background music. The Logitech Z130 Speakers are not going to give you all the bass notes in a Rammstein tune, but I am sure they’ll adequately pump out a little Dido or Coldplay.

There are not many reviews for the Logitech Z130 Speakers on Amazon, only seven in total. However, most people that have reviewed these speakers give it a very positive score. For example, Teddy says:

The speakers aren’t flashy or going to deliver top notch sound. For the price they are everything you need. They’re small but with excellent sound quality and it fills the room quite easily. Great bang for your buck.

Sounds about right!

Let’s check out the prices elsewhere: $25 @ BestBuy, $25 @ Newegg, $33 @ Staples, $30 @ Walmart, $26 @ TigerDirect, $35 @ TheSource. The closest price point I can see is $10 @ LondonDrugs, but again, you’d have to pay shipping on top of that.

Are you shopping for a new computer? Try out these coupon codes for up to $100 off your purchase from HP Canada to bring down the cost of your next purchase.

Click here to shop @ HP Canada now

  • Coupon Code: LabourD25

  • Coupon Code: 100SEP1199
  • Discount: $100 off PCs priced $1199.99+

While these are not substantial coupon codes, the percentage off does go up for higher priced computers. The other good thing is that you can team these coupons up with the current Labour Day Sale.

There is currently $100 off this HP Pavilion 23-h119 TouchSmart All-in-One Desktop PC bringing the cost from $899.99 down to $799.99. This is everything you need all in one computer. Featuring the ease of a touch screen tablet with the screen size of a monitor and the convenience of an all-in-one unit such as a laptop, this desktop is the perfect home computer. It also has a massive hard drive and large memory. The computer specs are here:

  • Windows 8.1 64

Using the $40 off $799.99 coupon code, your total for this computer comes down to $759.99.

The lower value coupon is also pretty sweet for smaller purchases. I found this excellent sale on a bundle package for back to school. The HP Pavilion 15-p067ca + HP Z3000 Wireless Mouse + HP Premier3 Backpack + 2 Year Warranty Upgrade New is a good bundle valued at $759.97, and is on sale for $599.97 during this sale. Dell Refurbished Store Coupon Code: 40% Off Entire Store

Posted by on August 26, 2014 at 11:00 PM

Dell Refurbished Store Coupon Code: 40% Off Entire Store

Dell Refurbished Canada has a coupon code for 40% off their entire website. It is rather mind-blowing to think about really, as refurbished products are already discounted from their original retail price and yet are in the same general condition.

Click here to shop @ Dell Refurbished Canada now

  • Coupon Code: 40BTS14
  • Discount: 40% off site wide
  • Expiry: 29th August 2014

You also will receive free ground shipping on orders over $199. As you can expect from refurbished products, quantities are limited so grab any hot deals you see. Did I forget to mention that? This coupon code is valid on everything, which includes the Dell Hot Deals section. Stock changes almost daily, so check back often for new items.

Dell Refurbished currently has two Dell Professional Series P2210 22-inch Flat Panel Monitors priced at $155 apiece. You get a 22″ screen with a maximum resolution of 1680 x 1050. The monitor has four USB 2.0 connectors as well as VGA, DVI-D, and DisplayPort. Both Energy Star compliant and EPEAT Gold-qualified, this monitor will not cost a lot of power to use. While this monitor is no longer available on the Dell website, I found the equivalent Dell 22″ monitor listed on Dell.com for $219.99 market price, on sale for $189.99. After coupon code, you will pay only $93 for the Dell P2210 monitor.

There appears to be a lot of laptops and desktops that are the same on Dell Refurbished. That may sound odd, but they may be lease returns or just a line that had some issues they needed to fix. There are a few Latitude E6500 Core 2 Duo 2.80 (T9600) business laptops in stock currently for $399. While the hard drive may be small, these are not designed for holding tons of information; rather they are designed to be super fast. You are working with a 2.8 GHz processor. Did you know your basic Macbook Air comes with a 1.4 GHz processor?  This baby will boot up and go through webpages so fast you do not even know what is what. I am on a gaming computer and it is only 2.3 GHz. After coupon code, this computer comes down to $239.40 and it would qualify for free shipping.

Rumour has it that Dell Refurbished will be restocking often, so if you do not see anything you like keep your eyes open and check back often. You have three more days to enjoy this deal!

For this and any future Dell Refurbished coupon codes, please visit the forum. Often they are put up there before we blog them.

Hubsan 6 Axis RC Quadcopter Aircraft only $36.62 & Free Shipping @ Eachbuyer!

Posted by on August 26, 2014 at 1:00 PM

Hubsan 6 Axis RC Quadcopter Aircraft only $36.62 & Free Shipping @ Eachbuyer!

Have you ever wanted to have the power to control a massive aircraft via a remote control? As a child, you most likely envisioned it as a dream come true – I know I was fascinated with toys that I would be able to operate with a wired remote. Remember, people, it was the early 90s and wireless technology was more expensive at the time! With today’s deal, you’ll be able to control a sleek 6 axis RC Quadcopter Aircraft, with 2.4GHz wireless technology for only $36.62 and free shipping! That’s 45% off of the regular price of $75.99.

Here’s how to get the aircraft for the aforementioned price. If you sign up for an account on Eachbuyer, you’ll get 35 reward points that you can apply to your order. And by adding the coupon code EBFORUM12, you can save even more cashola (12%), and your total will be only $36.62 with free shipping to your home!

At $36.62, this is quite the deal – on Banggood, it’s $49.62 with shipping. I would find this helicopter to be a fun purchase – especially if you’re looking for a way to wow your friends and family. What better way to surprise your friends than flying an RC quadcopter into the room? Listed below is a snippet of a review from Amazon:

“I have piloted many R/C aircraft for many years, and as time goes on, things are always improving. Sometimes there  is a leap in technology, and I believe we are seeing that with products like this one. For the price and including the controller that it does, This copter can’t be beat. If you learn to fly this copter well, you should be able to fly any multi-axis copter with little trouble.”

In case you’re not familiar with EachBuyer, it’s a very customer-friendly website that’s especially kind to Canadians, especially since they offer free shipping on all of their items! It can be tough for Canadians to find an online website that offers affordable shipping costs, so the fact that EachBuyer provides us with free shipping is a very nice bonus. You can even change the currency on the site to Canadian, so you can get an accurate estimate of what you’re going to be paying when purchasing items from EachBuyer. Whether you’re looking for jewellery, electronics, health & beauty products, or even car parts, you can find a wide variety of useful products on the EachBuyer website. You can check out their inventory by clicking here.

Some orders may ship from the US, some seem to be from Asia. Though the shipping is free, the items ship out from their worldwide warehouses, so you may have to pay customs and duties at the door (if your order happens to get stopped by customs officials). Let’s hope this isn’t the case, as I find it to be the biggest nuisance about shopping from an American website. If you have any luck avoiding customs fees for American shipments, feel free to let us know in the comments below!

P.S. In case you’re looking for a “souped-up” version of this Hubsan quadcopter, this model has a 0.3MP camera built into it, and after applying the EBFORUM12 coupon code (saves you an extra $7.19) and signing up for an account (you save an extra $0.26), you’ll be able to purchase this particular model for $52.49 – it regularly retails for $101.95!

Upcoming deal alert according to Newsbtc – here’s a stonking discount amount when you pay with Bitcoin online @ Newegg.ca! When you use the promo code below, you can save either $75 on a $300 spend, or $150 on a $500 spend. That’s a really high discount amount!

Now, when I test the above coupon code, it currently says:

Error The promo code BITCOINDEAL is not active yet. Please check the program details for activation dates.

The promotion was only due to start today, so I am not quite sure how it is supposed to work yet. There is an option to pay with Bitcoin towards the last stage of checkout… but the promo code does not yet seem to be active. UPDATE – there is a different coupon code for Canada – see above! The promotion is now live.

This page on Newegg tells you exactly how to checkout using Bitcoin.

I am not a Bitcoin user so I am not 100% au fait with the nomenclature here – please comment below if you think this would work. Instead of paying with your credit card at Newegg, get a Bitcoin wallet, top it up with those funds and then use that to spend on Newegg, utilising the above discount code as you do so (once it becomes active).

WagJag Canada: 3 Pack XtremeMac iPhone Cases Just $10 & Free Shipping!

Posted by on August 24, 2014 at 12:30 PM

WagJag Canada: 3 Pack XtremeMac iPhone Cases Just $10 & Free Shipping!

Wagjag Canada has a deal happening that is perfect for anyone with an iPhone. For just a few short days, get a pack of three XtremeMac TuffWrap cases for your iPhone 5/5S or a set of three XtremeMac MicroShield cases for your iPhone 5c for $10.

Not only can you save up to 90% with this deal, you will also get free shipping. There will be no additional charges for shipping what so ever at the checkout. The tax is the only thing not included, so that will depend on which province you live in.

Here is a look at the two choices for this deal:

XtremeMac TuffWrap iPhone 5 and 5s Cases

This set of three costs just $10 and has a value of $75.  It comes in three different colours and you will get all of them. You will get the peacock blue, the grape jelly (purple) and the licorice (black) all for just $10. The savings here is 87% off the regular price.

XtremeMac MicroShield iPhone 5c Cases (a $105 value)

This set also come with three different cases. The value of this set is $105, yours for just $10. It will include a black carbon/light grey border, a black carbon/sky blue border, and a brushed gunmetal. I like these ones because they are classic looking. The savings for this deal are a whopping 90% off right now.

A deal like this would make a great stocking stuffer at Christmas time because it is very useful and very inexpensive. You could split up the pack and have three different stocking stuffers for your family. They are sleek and easy to add your phone making them an ideal gift.

You will be able to buy as many of these deals as you would like for yourself or send as gifts. I like the coloured set and I know my husband would like the other set, so I may get one of each for us. Once you place your order, your product will arrive within two to four weeks of the deal closing date, which is pretty fast in my opinion for a WagJag deal.

Pre-Owned LG G2 Smartphone Only $300 & Free Shipping @ Telus.com (EXPIRED)

Posted by on August 24, 2014 at 9:18 AM

Pre Owned LG G2 Smartphone Only $300 & Free Shipping @ Telus.com (EXPIRED)

At the online Telus store, there’s currently a decent price on the pre-owned LG G2 smartphone. You can grab one right now for only $300, without having to take out a plan. The LG G2 also comes with free shipping!

This deal will only be live as long as Telus have stock available, they don’t state how many they are selling, so it could sell out fast. As you are going through checkout, you’ll be offered a Telus micro-sim for $10, you can take that if you wish.

The LG G2 will be locked to Telus when you buy it, so if you want to use this on another network, it would be up to you to get the handset unlocked. Once that is done, you’d be able to use this phone on any network except Wind or Mobilicity.

Now, as to what “pre-owned” means, there’s a whole page describing this on their site, if you were concerned that this item isn’t brand new. These phones are factory refurbished and they’ve only been used for a maximum of 30 days. You’ve also got a 30 day money back guarantee, as well as the standard full one year warranty. This pre-owned status sounds like an excellent deal.

Some features of this particular LG smartphone:

  • 5.2″ Full HD display
  • 13MP camera
  • Snapdragon 2.26GHz Quad-Core processor

There’s a fuller and more detailed breakdown of the specification here on the LG website if you want to find out a bit more. The handset itself looks really sleek and sexy, in my opinion. I’ve never had an LG phone… I’m afraid I’m an iPhone fangirl now!

Amazon Canada: $20 off Kindle Paperwhite eReader – Now $119

Posted by on August 21, 2014 at 3:00 PM

Amazon Canada: $20 off Kindle Paperwhite eReader Now $119

Purchase the Kindle Paperwhite eReader at Amazon Canada for $20 off. The Paperwhite retails for $139 but is now on sale for $119.

Today’s market presents many difficulties for eReaders. When everyone owns a tablet, laptop, or a smartphone on which you can read books, where is the place for eReaders? The job of companies that build eReaders is to differentiate them from the competition. What makes an eReader different and what makes it better than reading on those other devices.

The main difference is the screen. A tablet or phone is designed to be a multi-media device. They are built with brilliant but highly reflective screens. Have you ever had difficulty reading your phone the second you step outside? I have to turn up the brightness to maximum on my phone before I go outside or else I cannot even see enough to get into my phone to turn the brightness up. With the Kindle Paperwhite screen, this is not an issue. The screen mimics paper and there is no glare in bright light.

Battery life is another defining feature of an eReader versus a tablet. With a tablet, you can expect to charge it every day without fail if you are using it. At best, you can get away with a charge every couple of days. The Paperwhite eReader can go up to eight weeks without charging (Wi-Fi off). I am estimating it has around 30 hours of continual use on one charge.

The Paperwhite also comes with a built in light for late night reading and it stores up to 1,000 books. That is enough to keep you reading for a very long time. Another benefit of an eReader over a tablet is weight. Tablets are getting thinner and lighter with every new version, but they have not managed to reach a mere 206 grams, which is the weight of the Kindle Paperwhite.

The Kindle Paperwhite 3G is also on sale from $209 down to $189. It has all the same features as the above eReader and it comes with built in 3G. It also weighs a tad bit more at 215 grams.

I am still in love with physical books, but I do hate the space they take up. One day I might just have to change over to an eReader (maybe when they improve their graphic novel section).

Receive free shipping on orders of $25 or more.

NCIX Canada: Microsoft Lifecam only $5 with Free Shipping (Was $40)

Posted by on August 18, 2014 at 5:30 PM

NCIX Canada: Microsoft Lifecam only $5 with Free Shipping (Was $40)

In case you missed the Mooseletter this morning, I wanted to draw special attention to this sweet little deal on a Microsoft Lifecam VX-800 0.31MP USB 2.0 Webcam with Integrated Microphone. Originally $39.99, the little webcam is now on sale for $5 with free shipping.

The fine print underneath says:

HURRY! Only 205 left at this price! This special price will be applied ONLY after you complete your order, and will be processed in the order that they were received.

Now, that sort of does not make sense to me since the $5 price shows in my cart. As the $5 is the special price, then it is sort of being applied before I complete my order too, right? Or am I completely lost here?

Why I mention that little quote is more for the numerical value. As of the time I am posting this, there are approximately 200 units still available before they jack the price.

This unit is a basic webcam with microphone. If you are looking for HD quality or amazing vocal quality, then you are totally looking at the wrong unit. However, if you want something to cover your basics for the cottage, the dorm, or for your grandparents who do not know a webcam from a hole in a wall, then this is the cam for you. As this reviewer said:

For a microsoft product at $40, knowing how it performs, I would never pay that kind of money. This camera should be sold for $20, maximum. I actually picked this up with my NCIX points for my parents. Glad I did. If you are looking for HD, look away, if you are looking for something to do the job with basic MIC quality, pick this baby up when it’s on special.

Well, you do not even have to pay $20. You get to pay $5. That is it. Pretty sweet, eh?

While most laptops come equip with webcams, this is one of those things I would be tempted to get my mother. She put tape over her webcam because of some scare that people could tap into your webcam and be watching everything you do. Well, the adhesive will not come off the lens now, so when I try to Skype with my parents I just get a blur. I think they need a new webcam and this would work just fine for a fiver.

Posted by on August 18, 2014 at 6:00 AM

Casio 76 Key Electric Keyboard Was $250 Now $170 @ Best Buy Canada!

Best Buy is offering the gift of music for only $169.99! The Casio 76-Key Electric Keyboard has been marked down from $249.99 to $169.99, that’s a savings of $80! Best Buy was even kind enough to throw in free shipping. The sale ends August 21, 2014 so act fast!

There are other sites offering the same keyboard, but no one has it on sale close to this price. Future Shop has it currently at $249.99, Amazon is offering it at $299.95, and even Casio’s own website has the keyboard at $449,99. If Casio thinks it’s worth $450 and Best Buy now has it at $170, that’s over 60% off what the retailer feels it’s worth. Now that’s a great deal.

The Casio 76-Key Keyboard has a piano style keyboard and uses Casio’s Touch Response technology for a realistic feel. It also comes with 700 built-in tones and ten user tones. Add that to the 32-channel mixer and there’s nothing you can’t create. Especially when you realize that the keyboard offers 210 different pre-set rhythms from a wide range of genres. Then, just select the Auto Accompaniment feature and the keyboard provides you with backup music that’s almost like having your own professional band in your very own home. The keyboard also features the Rhythm Editor, which allows you to combine instruments, turn certain instruments on or off, and adjust the volume, pan, reverb as well as other parameters to create original rhythms. Once you’re done creating your new hit single you can use an SD memory card, connect to your computer and fine-tune your masterpiece.  This keyboard is incredibly user friendly, regardless of experience.

The Casio 76-key Electric Keyboard boasts positive reviews as well as customer satisfaction. Whether you’re looking to learn, reconnect with your passion, or you’re on your way to becoming the next great superstar, at $169.99 the Casio 76-Key Electric Keyboard is a fantastic fit! That, plus free shipping, is music to our ears.

The deal expires August 21, 2014 but at the time of this posting there were only 21 left.

HP Photosmart Wireless All-In-One Inkjet Printer Only $40 & Free Shipping @ BestBuy / FutureShop

Posted by on August 16, 2014 at 2:00 PM

HP Photosmart Wireless All In One Inkjet Printer Only $40 & Free Shipping @ BestBuy / FutureShop

If you are in need of a new inexpensive printer, this HP model from either FutureShop or BestBuy might fit the bill. It’s a deal on the HP PS6520 Photosmart Wireless All-In-One Inkjet Printer. The regular price is $149.99 but you can pick it up right now for only $39.99 with free shipping, from either store.

Price comparison wise, this particular model of printer doesn’t seem to be available from any other retailers, it seems to be an exclusive to the BestBuy and Futureshop stores. The price speaks for itself really.

Now, even though this is a great price on an HP printer, I will say that it’s probably not going to last you a lifetime. It’s an entry-level HP printer, and quite a basic model. There are a number of reviews on Futureshop from various people and they’re a little mixed, with the printer only receiving a score of just over two out of five. You can read the full reviews on the Futureshop link above, but there are big variations.

From:

Photos come out amazing!

To:

The black head no longer prints even though the ink level is full.

That latter comment seemed to be a concern from a few people. The HP PS6520 Photosmart Wireless All-In-One Inkjet Printer gets a slightly higher score on BestBuy, with comments such as, “Great all-around printer.” However, one customer stated:

For the cost of this ink, you could buy a brand new printer every time your cartridges run out.

This is definitely something to consider… and really a worrying trend to be honest. Electronics like this seem to be so disposable nowadays that people consider just buying a new printer instead of replacement ink!

Obviously you’ve got a full year’s warranty on the HP printer so if anything happens in that time, you’d be covered. But remember, you’re not paying a fortune for this item, so if anything goes wrong a couple of years down the line, you’re not too much out of pocket. It’s a great price to start with.

You’re going to have to move fast if you want to grab this deal for the Azio Levetron GM200 Gaming Mouse! NCIX.com is offering this top of the line gaming mouse for $17.99 (Regular $49.99. That’s $32 off!) with FREE ground shipping.

The free ground shipping is what really helps this deal be such a steal. For just $17.99 you’re getting a top of the line gaming mouse for a fraction of the cost.

The Azio Levetron GM200 Gaming Mouse is the Ferrari of the gaming mouse world. It has six buttons. That’s right. Six buttons. Including your standard right and left click buttons, a mouse wheel, the innovative DPI button, as well as a forward and a back button for added web surfing/gaming convenience. The DPI button allows the user to switch from 800-, 1600-, and 2000 DPI on the fly with a simple click of the button. Now for those of you who aren’t familiar with DPI, don’t worry neither were we, DPI stands for Dots Per Inch, which is a measurement of mouse sensitivity. The higher the DPI allows the gamer to move the mouse cursor further on the screen with less mouse movement. It also allows the user greater ability to pinpoint places on the screen more accurately.

Now these features won’t necessarily enhance your ability to enjoy Wikipedia or Facebook but for the avid gamer these perks allow for greater control and a higher and more competitive level of game play. Then again, this mouse could help increase the speed and ease of clicking on the great deals here on Barginmoose. There’s only one way to find out.

The Azio Levetron GM200 Gaming Mouse has a really high positive review and customer satisfaction score. However, the mouse’s ergonomic design was crafted for the right-handed user in mind, so please be aware that this mouse is NOT lefty friendly. Haters gonna hate. But for those who can enjoy this mouse, should enjoy this mouse and click quick to make sure you can grab one before they’re gone.
