Walmart Canada: RCA 32″ LED HD TV/DVD Combo Now $218 & Free Shipping

Walmart Canada: RCA 32 LED HD TV/DVD Combo Now $218 & Free Shipping

That dorm room could use a little sprucing up or, perhaps, you want a new television for the bedroom or the kids want a new TV for the play room. Either way, pick up this inexpensive all-in-one RCA 32″ LED TV/DVD Combo on sale for from $268 down to just $218. According to my cart, this television will also receive free shipping as it costs over $50 yet is not considered oversized/heavy.

Let us get started on price comparing. First of all, so few online retailers actually stock this television. I did end up finding this RCA television at The Source Canada, where they sell it for $359.99. In the USA, I found similar models of the same size around the $300 mark with some dipping below that on sale.

This 31.5” rear lit LED television features 720 HD resolution that is 16:9 wide. The dynamic contrast is 5000:1 and the response time is 7ms. The television comes with 2 HDMI ports and a myriad of other connections. Use this television as a secondary TV in another room, or turn this HDTV into a monitor for your laptop or desktop computer. It is pretty simple to turn a television into a monitor; you merely plug in an HDMI cable and edit the settings on your computer. This is actually an affordable way to buy a BIG monitor on a budget. An actual 32″ monitor would cost you a small fortune.

I think that these televisions are really best for kids and young adults. Kids and broke students really do not care whether they have the best resolution on the planet or not. They just want to watch their cartoons and movies. In a play room, this would make an excellent television for young children to watch their favourite shows on, like The Cat in the Hat and others. With the built in DVD player, there is no need to buy a separate unit. Just pop in Frozen and you are good to go.

For university students, this is also an ideal unit. This 32″ TV is small enough to fit into a dorm yet big enough to enjoy movies. With the built in DVD, there is one less thing to buy. Also, the television can double as an external monitor when they are conducting research or working on homework.

Best Buy Canada: Lexar JumpDrive 256GB USB Drive Was $250 | Now $80 & Free Shipping

Posted by on July 3, 2015 at 1:30 PM

Best Buy Canada: Lexar JumpDrive 256GB USB Drive Was $250 | Now $80 & Free Shipping

Are you in the market for a large flash drive from a good brand? Then take advantage of this one-day deal from Best Buy! Originally $249.99, the Lexar JumpDrive S73 256GB USB Flash Drive is now on sale for $79.99 with free shipping.

Last time this particular flash drive reached this price was back in mid-February, and it hasn’t been down this low since. I found the same model and same size of drive being sold at Amazon Canada for $148.84. At staples, the same size and brand of flash drive – but the 75 model – sells for $229.92. At Hookbag, the same drive is over $200 depending on which listing you are looking at.

The reviews on best Buy Canada are pretty mixed. Some people seem to have lemon models – where the flash drive stops working within a week. If that happens to you, then simply return the unit. Most stores have a 14 day money back guarantee. Also, all flash drives are under a one-year warranty to cover any such manufacturer problems. Essentially, you are covered should anything go wrong. One reviewer had his own opinion about the negative reviews:

It has yet to fail me and I’ve had it for a month, and the speed is amazing and I haven’t had any problems since I got it and formatted it. I think that the people that have reviewed this don’t know how to properly use a USB. Worth the price, and the space really helps out in tight situations.

A flash drive this size can be used as an external back up for your computer. If you are afraid of losing documents, pictures, videos, and more when your hard drive decides to no longer be among the living, then this flash drive may just be your best friend. It is sad how many backups we really need to keep of stuff because technology refuses to be dependable (or rather people making the technology fail to make anything that will last longer than a few years). You cannot trust an external hard drive because it might corrupt. It is better to have two copies of everything on your computer these days.

The flash drive is also excellent for transporting files to and from work, school, and more. With endless space, you will never fill that flash drive up.

This is a one-day only deal; pick it up before the deal ends tonight.

Freebies, BOGO Free, & 20% Off Blackberry Z30 Accessories Coupon Code @ BlueShop

Freebies, BOGO Free, & 20% Off Blackberry Z30 Accessories Coupon Code @ BlueShop

Blue Shop Canada is a pretty cool place to purchase accessories for your smart phone, tablet, and more. They also have a vast selection of freebies that you can score – with no minimum purchase necessary. Essentially, you can just stick a freebie into your cart and checkout. I suggest making a purchase though, as free shipping is on merely $20 worth of goods. They currently have a coupon code for 20% off your order as well, making this an excellent time to make a purchase. This coupon does not apply to the up to 80% off clearance section.

Click here to view all the freebies @ Blue Shop Canada now

  • Coupon Code: 7115
  • Discount: 20% off
  • Expiry: 3rd July 2015

There is a limit of one freebie per order. You could just get the freebie alone (and pay shipping) or spend $20 and receive both a freebie and free shipping. The last combination is my favourite.

Let us talk free items for a second. All these freebies are oriented towards the Blackberry Z30. Thus, there are chargers, cases, and more for free. However, some of the items offered – namely batteries – are not exclusive to the unit. For anyone, the following two freebies are worth considering:

AA batteries are used in everything. A friend of mine was wondering why his wireless keyboard wasn’t performing as previously. He forgot that the keyboard ran on AA batteries, which he had not changed in years. Recently, I had to buy my first 9V battery in some time as the battery in my smoke detector ran low and was beeping at all hours of the night.

Freebies, BOGO Free, & 20% Off Blackberry Z30 Accessories Coupon Code @ BlueShop

Now, these freebies have better value when you score free shipping on your order. I suggest stacking a few discounts together for the best deal. Both the BlackBerry Transform Hardshell Case (White) for Z30 and the BlackBerry Flip Shell (White) for Z30 are BOGO free units. Instead of $19.99 per unit, you receive two for that price. Use the above coupon code to receive both cases for $15.99. The space case is added to your cart automatically.

To get my cart above $20 for the free shipping, I added on this Smartphone Experts Mobile Phone Repair Tool Kit (8 Pieces), which will work on any phone really. Originally $19.95, the kit is on sale for $5.95. As this is a clearance item, the coupon does not apply. You can see how glorious this combo is when put together. I am saving nearly $80 in total!

Safety 1st Audio Baby Monitor & Safety Bundle Was $70 | Now $28 & Free Shipping @ Best Buy Canada **BUMP**

Posted by on June 30, 2015 at 9:00 AM

Safety 1st Audio Baby Monitor & Safety Bundle Was $70 | Now $28 & Free Shipping @ Best Buy Canada **BUMP**

**Bumping this hot little deal up today. The price is even sweeter than last time!**

Do you have a baby on the way? Time to baby proof!  The Safety 1st Audio Baby Monitor & Safety Bundle was $70 but is now on sale for only $29.99 $27.99. This item also meets the $25 minimum for completely free shipping!

When you have a new baby joining the family, safety is always on your mind. As you first become a parent you glance around your home and suddenly notice many terrifying things you never noticed before. A rectangular glass coffee table goes from looking chic to imagining bumps and bruises in only a few months. Electrical outlets in your home suddenly look like a frightening place for little fingers.

Whether you have a new baby or just have a baby gift to buy, this Safety First package is a nice little set. Inside the bundle, you will find the following items:

  • Safety First Compact DECT audio monitor with 1000 foot range
  • Two nightlights to keep you from stubbing your toe in the middle of the night
  • Four latches to keep cabinets closed tight from little fingers
  • Nine electrical covers to keep little fingers out of harm
  • Window blind cord wrap to keep strings out of babies reach
  • One year limited warranty on parts

I feel a little safer just writing about all that safety gear! Seriously, this is a nice bundle to get you started kid proofing your home. When I brought my kid home, I had a tiny apartment. Whenever she was sleeping, I kept an audio monitor with me for peace of mind. I also always took a compact monitor similar to this one when I traveled. It was handy when I was visiting my family to have a compact little monitor for my suitcase. I could relax more while she slept knowing I would hear her cry.

I am not finding this exact bundle sold anywhere else in Canada. I did find the baby monitor sold several places. As the monitor should be the most expensive item in the bundle, I thought we could look at the prices for just the monitor only.

Even if you were only interested in the monitor with no interest in any of the other safety products, this bundle is still a better deal. While I do not see any direct reviews for this bundle, Safety First is a known leader in the market for baby proofing safety items. Of all the places I found the monitor, I only see one review. The reviewer liked the monitor overall but said the charger stopped working.  Your new bundle includes a warranty for a year which should give you peace of mind.

Pick this up now and you will be ready for your baby or for your next baby gift. This item is only on sale for a limited amount of time.

Best Buy Canada: JBL Micro II Portable Speaker Was $45 | Now $27 & Free Shipping

Posted by on June 28, 2015 at 2:00 PM

Best Buy Canada: JBL Micro II Portable Speaker Was $45 | Now $27 & Free Shipping

Best Buy Canada has discounted the popular award-winning JBL Micro II Portable Speaker from $44.99 down to $26.99. As this speaker is over best Buy Canada’s free shipping minimum of $25, it will ship for free.

I love my tech and I know my specs but i also care about that cosmetic little nuance known as colour. The JBL Micro II Portable Speaker comes in three colour combinations:

The black is out of stock online but can still be reserved for in store pick up if you have your heart set on that colour. Personally, I am a big fan of the orange. The ‘colour’ is a bit of a misnomer because the actual speaker face is white-ish with just a band of orange around the body connecting to the orange handle.

I price compared these cute little units. Amazon Canada sells all three colours for $44.99 each. Shop.ca only has the black in stock at $44.99 as well.

I mentioned this was an award winning speaker, which is true. This JBL Micro II won the Reddot Design award. This speaker is the first ultra-portable speaker with a built-in bass port. It is small enough to slip into bigger pockets, clip on your belt, or carry in your handbag or backpack. While not Bluetooth, it easily connects to any MP3 player or smart phone with a built-in audio cable. No need to purchase that separately.

The speaker has a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery that lasts approximately five hours. The beauty of these speakers is really only discovered when you own more than one. You can daisy-chain the JBL Micro II speakers together for an incredible experience.

One reviewer said:

I bought this speaker just to listen to music by the bonfire and wasn’t expecting much because of the size and price. JBL has impressed me again. i’m shocked at how well it works. It is louder and clearer than the ipod docking unit I have. Excellent purchase and I would recommend it to anyone looking for something to work with or walk with.

The reviews are actually raving on this product. I have rarely seen such a high average – 4.8/5 with 22 reviews (black) – on a speaker before. Everyone LOVES this little speaker and considers it one of the best deals they have scored.

Best Buy Canada: PNY USB 3.0 Flash Drive Was $80 | Now $40 & Free Shipping *HOT* (EXPIRED)

Posted by on June 27, 2015 at 4:00 PM

Best Buy Canada: PNY USB 3.0 Flash Drive Was $80 | Now $40 & Free Shipping *HOT* (EXPIRED)

I have never seen a 128GB USB 3.0 flash drive for such a low price! Head over to best Buy Canada to purchase the PNY 128GB USB 3.0 Turbo Flash Drive that was $79.99, and is now only $39.99. As this price is over Best Buy Canada’s free shipping threshold, it will show up at your door free of charge.

This flash drive gives you huge speed and massive space in one small little stick. As this is a turbo drive, it has read speeds of up to 190MB/s and write speeds of up to 130MB/s! This is faster than your standard USB 3.0 flash drive which usually tops out at a read speed of 100MB/s.

The flash drive is compatible with PC and Mac computers and is also backwards compatible with USB 2.0 ports. Rather than a retractable head or a cap that you can lose, this design has a sliding-collar. Thus, it stays all in one piece and yet will not randomly retract in when you are trying to insert it into the USB slot.

I did not actually find this deal. I was searching for USB drives for a friend of mine who just acquired himself a new computer with a decadent 3.0 port to fill. He wanted a new flash drive, thus we were throwing links back and forth. He sent this one to me to ask what I thought… and I immediately recommended he purchase it as it is 3.0, 128GB, and the best price I have ever seen for that combination. I price compared with a few other stores just to make sure:

  • $77.99 + shipping @ Tiger Direct Canada
  • $71.61 @ Amazon Canada
  • $79.99 @ Dell Canada

The reviews on this flash drive re, overall, positive. The flash drive rates at 3.9/5 with over 30 reviews. The main problem people point out is speed. Many people are able to get the ‘up to’ read and write speeds but others report having much slower flash drives. consistency of product appears to be an issue for PNY. One gentleman commented on the speeds he was getting:

Overall for the [money] paid it is worth it. Running ‘portableapps’ without issue. Recognized on computer immediately, no dropped connection issues. Speed is lower than advertised, but for the price and real life usage this was expected. I am averaging consistent WRITE speeds of 50 mb/s on large file transfers and 20-30 mb/s on more complex folder transfers containing thousands of small files. Some files show burst write speeds up to 130 mb/s. Would recommend and buy again.

For the price, I think this is a great deal. If you do receive a lemon hard drive, then you can always tale a screen shot of the speed and return it to Best Buy within a reasonable amount of time.

I have done a fair bit of shopping at Shop.ca personally as they have a wide array of things I like. For a friend of mine, I purchased this set of Audio Technica ATH-M50X Headphones. If you look at review sites that use top 10 or top 20 headsets under $200 rankings, you will find this set of headphones always in the top two. They are an incredible set of headphones from a relatively unknown brand. Originally $199, these headphones would qualify for the $60 off $175 coupon code. They come down to just $139 plus tax. Amazon and Best Buy sell this headset for $199.

Vitamix is the most popular blender of our day. To say it is just a blender is a bit of an understatement. This baby crushes, pulverizes, and liquefies whatever you throw into its belly. The Pro Series 200 Blender is on sale from $629 down to $529. Use the $100 off $500 coupon code above to bring this Vitamix 200 blender down to $429. I found the same blender at Target.com (US) for $440 USD.

Do you have a cat? If so, then you are probably used to the shredded state his or her cat stand is perpetually in. I swear that my heavy boy has pretty much destroyed his current cat stand by stripping the screws holding it together under his swaying weight. Try out this gorgeous PawHut 60″ Multilevel Cat Tree Condo with Hammock that retails for $149 and is now $139. Use the $50 off $125 coupon code to save more. Pay just $89 for this upgrade to your cat’s current digs. I adore the cat paw print all over this stand and the price, for such a large unit, cannot be beat. On top of that, you would receive free shipping on this stand, which is no small savings as the stand is so heavy.

You can combine the coupons with other deals. Purchase one Imation A12 TDK TREKMicro Ultraportable Wireless Speaker and receive a second one for $35 off (they each cost $59.99). If you get your cart up to $100, then you can use the $40 off coupon as well.

Best Buy Canada: Netgear Wireless N Dual Band Router (N600) Now $60 & Free Shipping

Posted by on June 23, 2015 at 4:30 PM

Best Buy Canada: Netgear Wireless N Dual Band Router (N600) Now $60 & Free Shipping

I have been looking for the perfect balance: a good quality wireless dual band router at a fair price. You can easily find cheap routers but the quality reflects their price. Then you can find good quality routers but the price is often over $100. The N600 Netgear Wireless N Dual Band Router (WNDR3400-100PAS) is currently on sale from $69.99 down to $59.99 with free shipping.

This may not be the deal of the century, but it is a good price on a quality router. I price compared this router with other online Canadian merchants. London Drugs sells the router for $69.99, Walmart Canada offers it for $69.93, and Staples Canada comes in at $69.81.

The good reviews on Best Buy, Walmart, and Staples impressed me. I see a lot of routers around this price and slightly cheaper barely holding on to a three star rating. In fact, one reviewer of a D-Link router (around the same price) said it worked about as well as his Rogers default router, which isn’t saying much. This wireless dual band router gets excellent reviews (for the most part):

I have had this for nearly 2 years. it works amazing. I can connect to it from outside the home. It is in the second floor and my TV in the basement can catch it and play HD contents smoothly. Once a channel gets busy, immediately switches to a free channel so your speed wont get affected by the neighboring noises.

For those not needing something that’s absolutely cutting edge, this is more than enough router. I get ~22MBps from my TekSavvy cable connection with this router

Some of you may be curious: what is a dual band router and why do I need this? First, a dual band router gives you two simultaneous dual bands, which avoids interference. Running more than one computer, tablet, or smartphone off your router? This router will ensure top Wi-Fi speeds and a more reliable connection because it offers twice the bandwidth.

You need this because homes are busy and full of electronics these days. Most households have multiple phones and computers. If you are sick and tired of web browsing, media streaming, and Facebook time slowing down to a crawl when you and your family are on your devices, then you need a dual band router to handle the volume. This router will save you time. As they say, time is money. I also think it is sanity!

Visions Electronics: Toshiba Blu-Ray & Online Media Player Was $110 | Now $58 & Free Shipping

Posted by on June 21, 2015 at 4:30 PM

Visions Electronics: Toshiba Blu Ray & Online Media Player Was $110 | Now $58 & Free Shipping

Save on entertainment for the entire family with this Toshiba Blu-Ray Disc And Online Media Player (BDX3500). Originally $109.99, the Blu-Ray and media player is on sale for $58 with free shipping.

Blu-ray players alone retail around $65+ for the name brand players, this this deal on a Toshiba Blu-Ray and Media player is quite impressive. This device will not only play Blu-Ray disks, DVDs, and audio CD playback, it also has a built in Wi-Fi network with Miracast. Miracast is a fantastic technology that allows you to seamlessly display multimedia between devices without cables or a network connection. That means you can share your screen, media, and more from compatible devices like a smartphone or a tablet.

With the built-in Wi-Fi, you can stream content from the web and watch content from Netflix (with subscription), YouTube, CinemaNow, and more. If I was to compare this device to anything, it would be the unholy love-child of a Chromecast and a Blu-Ray player. I was looking at Blu-Ray players alone when i found this and even a basic Sony player retails for $68.

Of course, the best price comparison is finding the same device at other stores. Here is a price comparison sheet of the Toshiba Blu-Ray Disc and Online Media Player (BDX3500) at other stores. The device retails for:

  • $103.76 @ NCIX.com
  • $98 @ Dell Canada
  • $99 + shipping @ Amazon Marketplace
  • $99 @ The Source Canada
  • $99 + shipping @ Newegg Canada

I could not find this device anywhere near Vision’s Electronics price! While there are no reviews on Visions, I did find a few elsewhere. One person from Newegg said:

The WiFi reach was my main concern, the reach is fantastic. The home interface is impressive, it kind of reminds me of the x-box 360 interface. SO FAR, all around great player! Very Happy with it.

Another reviewer on The Source said:

Picture quality looks good I have wired connection and all apps works as expected. You need a HDMI port to use this player.

This device essentially turns your television into a SMART TV and provides you a Blu-Ray player all for one small price. With free shipping on this device, this truly is a great purchase to upgrade your family room. Quantities are limited.

(TODAY ONLY!) Amazon Canada: 44% Off Seagate Backup Plus 5TB External Hard Drive + FREE 200GB Cloud Storage – Was $286 | Now Just $160 (EXPIRED)

Posted by on June 20, 2015 at 5:36 PM

(TODAY ONLY!) Amazon Canada: 44% Off Seagate Backup Plus 5TB External Hard Drive + FREE 200GB Cloud Storage Was $286 | Now Just $160 (EXPIRED)

Moosers, this deal expires at the end of the day but it’s just too hot for me to pass up on telling you about it! At Amazon right now, you can get the Seagate Backup Plus 5TB external hard drive 3.0 on sale for just $159.99. It was originally priced at $285.99 and is now down by 44%. Shipping is free as well.

I have been in the market for an external hard drive for what seems like ages now and this deal has definitely gotten my attention as usually, 5TB external hard drives are much pricier. I had a look at Best Buy and the cheapest 5TB external hard drive I found is the Seagate Backup Plus 3.5″, which is priced at $189.99.

In terms of ratings and reviews, 50 customers rated this external hard drive 4.5/5 stars on Amazon.ca. CNET even gave it 4/5 stars with the following bottom line:

Fast and massive, the Seagate Backup Plus Desktop is an excellent backup drive for any USB 3.0-enabled computer or server.

What’s cool about it is that it also comes with 200GB of cloud storage and mobile device backup. The former could definitely come in handy, especially if you’re only wanting to transfer a couple of files from one computer to another. For long-term file storage, it might be better to use the external hard drive itself but for a quick transfer, I would definitely opt for the cloud alternative.

As for the mobile back, all you need to do is install the free Seagate mobile backup app onto and Android or iOS smart phone to then be able to back up your device either onto the drive itself or onto the included cloud storage.

This is also by the best price in comparison to the other sizes:

  • 2TB is 11% off: reg. $131.99/ now $117.97
  • 3TB is 26% off: reg. $175.99/ now $129.99
  • 4TB is 30% off: reg. $241.99/ now $169.99

So even if you have been considering a 4TB external hard drive, you are much better off getting the 5TB for $10 cheaper!

To give you an idea, this same hard drive is actually currently on sale for $184.97 at Tiger Direct, so Amazon’s price is pretty hot!

Amazon Canada: Proscan 48″ 1080p LED TV & Roku Stick Was $700 | Now $300 (EXPIRED)

Posted by on June 19, 2015 at 12:14 PM

Amazon Canada: Proscan 48 1080p LED TV & Roku Stick Was $700 | Now $300 (EXPIRED)

Are you looking for a large HD TV that doesn’t cost you very much? The Proscan 48″ 1080p LED TV with Roku stick is on sale from $699.99 down to $299.99 today only! As this TV bundle costs over $25, shipping is free.

I tried to find this television on other sites but that was hard! I ended up price comparing against Amazon.com where the television with Roku retails for $499.99 USD. Given the price is $200 more even before the currency exchange, this is a pretty hot deal.

Let us get into the nitty-gritty details now. This is a 48″ LED full HD TV that comes with a ROKU Streaming Stick. With the Roku, you can stream 1000+ chanells including Netflix, Hulu, HBO, Pandora, and more. I assume you can also stream YouTube to the device. The ROKU stick fits into the MHL port on the television – no extra cables are needed. It has a dual band wireless compatibility to easily connect with your home wi-fi network.

The television itself has the following connection ports:

  • Three HDMI ports
  • MHL
  • VGA
  • USB
  • AV Audio/Video
  • PC Audio
  • Headphone
  • Coaxial
  • RF

Now, there is a discrepancy between Amazon’s website and the manufacturer’s description of this unit. In my wanderings, I found this PDF document advertising all the features of this exact same TV & Roku bundle (I compared Model numbers, they are the same). According to Amazon Canada, this TV has a refresh rate of 60Hz but according to the manufacturer, this television has a refresh rate of 120Hz. I tend to believe Amazon made a mistake on this – but I cannot be certain.

There is only one review of this product so far, but it is quite positive. They say the picture is comparable to high end televisions, the sound is fantastic as it offers surround sound, and the Roku to TV compatibility is flawless.

For a 48″ SMART TV, you just cannot do much better than this price. I have never tried Roku personally, but it is a lot like the Chromecast, which I just adore. If I ever get television again, it will be in the form of Netflix streamed directly to my television. I will never purchase cable again.

This deal is available TODAY only!

Phone Gala: PowerCube Original 5-Outlet Power Bar Only $15 & Exclusive Free Shipping

Posted by on June 18, 2015 at 10:02 AM

Phone Gala: PowerCube Original 5 Outlet Power Bar Only $15 & Exclusive Free Shipping

I recently tried out a pretty cool product and I want to let you know about it. Its called the PowerCube and it is basically a power bar, without the bar. It is in a little cube format, with no long wires to get in your way and no bar to step on. You just plug it in then plug in what you need to. Phone Gala has it on right now for $14.99, but we’ve also got exclusive free shipping on this item with coupon code MOOSECUBE.

You don’t have to believe me about the convenience of this product, but you can believe reddot, who gave it a best product award.

What I really love about this cube is that it is space efficient. Typically under my desk I have a power bar with my laptop, monitor, external speakers and sometimes my phone charger plugged in. I step on it often and am always kicking it out of my way. With the PowerCube, I don’t even see any of those wires, as they just plug right into the wall with this cube.

It also has USB plug-ins, which means you can charge your phone or camera without needing the extra wall jack. I find I always have lots of USB cords, but never a wall jack and I don’t find plugging these items into my computer as efficient for charging.

I want to set up a charging station in my kitchen for all of my family’s many electronic devices and this cube makes it so simple.

While Best Buy has the same price on this item, their free shipping doesn’t start until you reach $25. Otherwise you are paying $8.99. Other stores like Canada Computers and Amazon also carry the cube with ranges from $20 – $40 for this cube!

With the free shipping exclusive coupon code you are saving the $4.95 shipping fee Phone Gala normally charges. Apple iPad Refurbished 4th Gen 32GB Was $389 | Now $323 + Exclusive Free Shipping @ Refurb.io

Apple iPad Refurbished 4th Gen 32GB Was $389 | Now $323 + Exclusive Free Shipping @ Refurb.io

I could use a new iPad soon, and this price is too hard to resist! The Apple iPad 4th Generation with 32 GB was $389 but is now on sale for $323. Use our exclusive coupon code MOOSEYDEALS to take another $16.15 off the cost of your shipping and ship completely free.

Apple iPads still have the magic touch when it comes to tablets. Whether you want to use them to run your small business or just to play some amazing games and surf the internet, the Apple iPad is one of the front runners for the top tablet. Score one today at a fraction of the cost, and it is much easier to hand it off to the five-year-old when they ask to play. Make sure you get a protective case. In all seriousness, this iPad would not only be great for kids at this price, it should also fully support the use of most adults.

This is a mid-sized iPad, boasting a 32GB memory. I find that size is more useful than the smallest 16GB version. It gives you room enough to store some movies, music and the 12,000 photos that everyone has on their iPad. I recently had more than 12,000 photos on my iPad before I did some cleaning and it was a 32GB size. There might have been a few blurry pictures. This version has a lightning cord, which is the cord for cool kids. When the dollar store switches from a regular cord to lightning cords, you are past time to upgrade. You also have dual cameras, Bluetooth, and a full clear retina display. You can also do fun things like FaceTime in HD and shoot photos with your 5-megapixel camera.

Price Comparison

When I first started writing this post, Apple Canada had a near identical 32GB iPad. While I was writing this post, that refurbished iPad went out of stock. There must have been only one or two of those at Apple Canada. Right now Apple Canada has a 4th Generation Refurbished iPad in black with a 16GB memory. This model also includes Wi-Fi and cellular options and is on sale for $429. Apple Canada also offers free shipping and a similar one-year warranty. Newegg.ca is selling a refurbished iPad that is 3rd Generation and includes 32 GB. For $549, you also receive Wi-Fi and cellular capabilities. Shipping is free for this iPad also.

Looking at brand new products that are not refurbished, I found a 4th Gen Apple iPad. This 16GB model includes Wi-Fi and cellular for $470.89 at Best Buy Canada. Free shipping for this iPad is also included.

We have managed to grab an exclusive deal for shipping for you! Shipping normally costs about $15 but can vary based on your location. Refurb.io has provided us a coupon that will knock that shipping cost off your item, by taking off $16.15 off your total no matter where you live.

As you can see for the price, you are getting a better deal at refurb.io. Something else notable is refurb.io offers a full one year warranty on all of their products. When you are buying an item that is refurbished, a warranty is even more important to ensure your product is top of the line. Refurb.io specializes in refurbished products, which should help to give you extra peace of mind that you are in good hands with your purchase.

Refurb.io specializes in refurbished products, so your product will be top notch. I sometimes hesitate for a second when considering a refurbished product because I do not want to sacrifice quality in my device. I would not hesitate to pick up a higher ticket item from refurb.io with a big savings.

Sennheiser HD 429 Headphones Only $50 & Free Shipping @ Amazon.ca (EXPIRED)

Sennheiser HD 429 Headphones Only $50 & Free Shipping @ Amazon.ca (EXPIRED)

Amazon Canada has discounted these sexy Sennheiser HD 429 headphones from $129.99 (original price) to $49.95. Receive free shipping as your order is over $25.

I have blogged about this headset once before, back when Future Shop Canada was still around. The headset was on sale for $59.95 @ Future Shop in March. I know that the companies are clearing out this headset as it is an older model and thus not available many places anymore. A friend of mine purchased this headset during Future Shop’s sale and found the headset overall comfortable with good sound.

I recommend Sennheiser quite often. They have a larger frequency range than many similarly priced headsets. The same friend who bought this headset was going to buy a set of Skull Candy headphones for around $100. I pointed out that Skull Candy had a much smaller frequency range compared to Sennheiser.

The HD 429 has 18-22,000 Hz frequency response with 32 Ω impedance. They are a closed can design that fits around the ear. They provide passive isolation from environmental noise but there is no active noise cancellation. I prefer this as I like my environment to still be able to clue me in – like if an ambulance is coming.

The headset has a 3 m single-sided OFC cable with a 3.5 mm gold straight plug. A 6.3 mm adapter plug is also included. This headset is completely sold out on Best Buy Canada, but I borrowed a review from there:

Great clear balanced sound (for a variety of music, electronic, rock, classical, and more). Do a decent job of blocking out background noise. Liked them so much at work, I bought a second set for home. The cord is a little thin, afraid it might get wrecked eventually, and it built-in to the headphone, so can’t be easily replaced like some units.

Looking at the reviews, the only real complaint appears to be the thin cable. Besides that, customers are very pleased with the quality.

These headphones are an excellent choice for casual music listeners who want something better than their earbuds. I love my headphones – I think they make me look badass! These are also an excellent gift for teenagers and other music loving adults. For the price, I would recommend these to most my friends.

Best Buy Canada: Fitbit Zip Activity Tracker Was $70 | Now $40 & Free Shipping

Best Buy Canada: Fitbit Zip Activity Tracker Was $70 | Now $40 & Free Shipping

Pounce quickly on this Fitbit Zip Wireless Activity Tracker deal at Best Buy Canada as stock is dwindling! Originally $69.99, the Fitbit Zip is on sale for $39.99 with free shipping.

While tying this post, three of these units sold in the charcoal. Thus, I know this deal is quite popular. I made sure to price compare with other online retailers, just to make sure. The Fitbit Zip retails for:

  • $69.99 @ Sport Chek
  • $69.95 @ Staples Canada
  • $69.95 @ Walmart Canada
  • $69.99 @ Bed, Bath, & Beyond
  • $69.95 @ Chapters Indigo Canada

There is one other place where the Fitbit Zip is discounted to this price: at Amazon Canada. Yet the Fitbit Zip is quite discounted at these two stores compared to all other retailers. I figured this was a worthwhile deal to blog even though the sale price is at two different retailers. If Best Buy sells out of the colour you want, then head over to Amazon Canada to also purchase this unit for $39.99.

There are four colours to choose from at Best Buy Canada:

The charcoal (black) unit has the lowest stock, with fewer than 20 remaining. The other three colours do not mention stock levels, thus I assume they are not low in stock yet. Usually, Best Buy Canada gives exact numbers for totals under 30 units.

The Fitbit Zip is a mini version of the normal Fitbit you know of. This unit tracks your steps, distance, and calories burned. It will wirelessly upload this data to your computer, smart phone, or tablet. Unlike the other Fitbit devices that you wear around your wrist, this Fitbit Zip fits in your pocket, clips onto your pants or belt, and even can clip onto your bra band. One reviewer said:

Great product. Makes you aware of how much/how little you are walking. Syncs with Fitbit online so you have a daily, weekly and monthly record. I have stepped up my own activity and am making some progress in my fitness journey.

If you are looking to be more active and need an extra incentive, then this is the device you want to buy. However, this will not monitor your sleep if you need that added feature. Overall, this is a good deal on a wearable tech device designed to get you moving and living a healthier lifestyle.
