HMDX Jam Touch Wireless Bluetooth Speaker Was $50 | Now $20 (FS @ $25+) @ Best Buy Canada

HMDX Jam Touch Wireless Bluetooth Speaker Was $50 | Now $20 (FS @ $25+) @ Best Buy Canada

Make sure your music travels with you with the HMDX Touch Wireless Bluetooth Speaker. This handy little speaker in blue or red was $49.99, but you can grab it on sale now for only $19.99. You will save 60% off the retail cost!

According to The Financial Post, in 2013 between 75% and 91% of Canadian households are reporting owning at least one cell phone. Depending on where you live that stat can change. Those numbers are high and have probably only climbed since then. I think it is a safe bet to say mobile devices are part of our daily lives. The stat does not include tablets and other portable devices that also have music, games and interactive video calling.

Get the most out of your device by picking up the HMDX Jam Touch Wireless Bluetooth Speaker. This powerful little speaker has a 30-foot connectivity radius allowing you to connect your phone or another Bluetooth-enabled device with ease. You can listen to music with this speaker for  five hours of battery time. You can also use this for video chats, as it has an internal microphone. We are always hooking up our little speakers when we video call with friends and family. My speakers have a wire and it is a pain to try to juggle the speaker and the phone while keeping my daughter in the frame. This wireless speaker is available in colours red or blue.

When I started writing this post, both colours of speakers were showing savings of $30. For some reason, the red speaker is currently showing savings of $10 while the blue speaker is showing savings of $30 even though they are the same model. I think $50 is the original retail value of these speakers, with $30 being the “regular” sale price. Here are some comparable prices in the rest of the Canadian market to show you what I mean. Bed Bath and Beyond Canada has these speakers currently on sale for $37.49.  You will spend $59.99 at The Source Canada and your colour choices are blue, grey or purple. At Toys R Us Canada, I found a similar HMDX Jam portable speaker that is retailing for $49.99. The deal over at Best Buy Canada is looking sweet.

Best Buy Canada offers free shipping for all orders over $25. If you need a filler to qualify for free shipping, I would suggest heading over into the Viva shop through deals and shops at the top of your browser. I found a bottle of Desert Essence Organics Conditioner that was $9.99 but is now only $5.99 and would be a great filler to bring your total cost up to qualify for free shipping. Alternatively, you could also have this shipped to store free.

I did not find very many reviews on this speaker in Canada. I did find some reviews on this brand through some publications in the states, and most reviews were saying HMDX is a leader for the lower cost speakers. If you want a speaker with decent sound, but with a less expensive price tag than this speaker is a great pick. This would also make a great gift for Father’s Day, especially for the dad who is hard to buy for.

*Hot* Save 89%! HD WiFi Video Baby Monitor Was $180 Now $21.24 & Free Shipping @ Lorex Canada

*Hot* Save 89%! HD WiFi Video Baby Monitor Was $180 Now $21.24 & Free Shipping @ Lorex Canada

The Lorex HD Wi-Fi Video baby monitor is on super-deep discount today. This camera was $179.99 USD but now with a coupon code from our forums is only $21.24 USD. Free shipping is also included with the coupon code.

This is one super-deep discount today folks, so if you want one grab it quick. The first thing you should note is that Lorex Technology does ship within Canada, though the prices are in USD. When you click through the link, make sure the Canadian flag in the upper right corner is highlighted. Lorex  defaults to the American site, so make sure you are in the right site when you order. Then use the coupon code EMAIL15 to receive an extra 15% off your order plus free shipping. Please note that the shipping estimator in your shopping cart does not reflect the free shipping – but you’ll see that it IS free shipping as you proceed through checkout.

This little Wi-Fi camera is a portable camera that allows you to stream from your tablet or mobile in HD.  The camera can run plugged into the wall, or it can also run from the battery pack for up to three hours. Built in is also a nightlight feature to give the room a comforting low glow. You can also receive alerts for the temperature of the room or movement. You will need to download a free app to use this camera. The camera supports both Android and iOS mobile devices.

The single camera is on sale today, but so is a double pack of cameras. The two pack of HD Wi-Fi Video baby monitor was $359.99, but now you can have it for only $38.24. Wow! That saves you 89% off the original price for a double pack too, and these cameras will all sync up together! Check out my cart where I have picked up both a single and a double pack of these monitors.

*Hot* Save 89%! HD WiFi Video Baby Monitor Was $180 Now $21.24 & Free Shipping @ Lorex Canada

Over at BestBuy.ca, they are selling this monitor right now for $199.99. I also found another Lorex video monitor model over at Walmart.ca for $132.18. This monitor at Walmart has fewer features and operates from a monitor base instead of from a mobile device. Sears.ca also carries another Lorex baby monitor model for $169.99.

Reviews I have seen are tough on this camera overall. Most of the people who are frustrated seem most frustrated with the customer support on this product. Multiple people love this camera though and praise the set-up, with it being easy. I would not debate this purchase though, as I bet this price will not last long. Here is one happy reviewer.

The setup was straightforward – however, it took several tries for the camera to link up.  The picture quality is definitely better than most. The only feature that would have been nice is the ability to control panning, remotely.  App works on iPhone 5s, Nexus 5s, and Nexus 7 2013. Does not work with Nexus 7 (original).

You could also potentially use these cameras as a doggy spy cam or even rig it up as a security camera. I would probably keep it inside, as this camera is not designed to weather the elements. I might consider hooking this up to monitor my garage entrance. Grab your camera now before they are gone!

Microsoft Store: $80 Off Jawbone BIG Jambox – Now Just $220 & Free Shipping (EXPIRED)

Posted by on May 17, 2015 at 11:00 AM

Microsoft Store: $80 Off Jawbone BIG Jambox Now Just $220 & Free Shipping (EXPIRED)

Until tomorrow, you can save $80 on the Jawbone BIG Jambox and get it for just $219.99 instead of $299.99. Shipping is free as well.

Having good-quality speaker is absolutely imperative when entertaining and with summer nearly upon us, if you don’t already have some, then this is definitely a pretty awesome deal. Not only is Jawbone known for its quality sound but it’s also a worthy price drop as at Amazon, the graphite version of this Jambox is actually currently $435.82 and the red dot is from $270.

It’s available in either a red dot colour (pictured above) or graphite hex (more of a black/grey undertone).

I’m actually very tempted to get this speaker myself as having just bought a BBQ last month, I have been eyeing a patio set and would love to listen to music while sipping an iced coffee outside. The battery is actually supposed to last up to 15 hours, so it could be used all day and then recharged every night.

What’s also really cool about this speaker is that it has a built-in microphone, which means that you can enjoy hands-free calling and even video chats. According to the description, you can even use it to Skype! However, do keep in mind that either a smart phone, tablet or any other device that can host a call, like Skype, is needed for this feature. In fact, the built-in microphone is marketed as being “360-degree omnidirectional” and with noise cancellation, which means that no matter where you are in the room, the other person should be able to hear you loud and clear.

Speaking of devices, you can even download the Jawbone app on either the AppStore or Google PlayStore for easy access to all of your saved music. Through the app, you can also easily update the Jawbone Jambox.

In terms of reviews, the Jawbone BIG Jambox has a 5/5 star rating with two reviews on the Microsoft Store’s website.

Costco Canada: $115 Off Summer Infant Baby Zoom Wi-Fi Video Monitor – Was $225 | Now $110

Posted by on May 17, 2015 at 7:00 AM

Costco Canada: $115 Off Summer Infant Baby Zoom Wi Fi Video Monitor Was $225 | Now $110

Have you been looking for a baby video monitor? Costco has a pretty awesome deal on one! During the next couple of days, you can save 51% on the Summer Infant Baby Zoom wi-fi video monitor and get it for just $110.24, instead of its usual price of $224.99. Shipping is free as well.

Think of this video monitor as it being a regular baby watching device but with added wi-fi capabilities. This means that you can watch your baby from your smart phone, tablet or laptop, whether you’re at home or perhaps at work. It also has two-communication, so you could directly try to soothe your baby without actually going into the room.

As this is a wi-fi baby monitor, you can rest assured that it is secured with a login and encrypted video. Just make sure to make your password extra complicated with loads of different letters, numbers, capitals, etc.

It can also monitor the room temperature, and will allow you to pan, scan and zoom, whether during the day or night.

Arguably, at 2.5″, the screen is on the smaller scale when it comes to baby video monitors but at this price, it should be more than manageable. You don’t exactly need the largest screen either as after you get over the initial urge to check on your baby every single second, you will then only glance at it when you hear your baby stir or wake.

There are no reviews for this video monitor on Costco’s site but at Toys R Us, where it’s currently on sale for $249.98 (reg. $299.99), it has a total score of 3.5/5 stars with 16 ratings. Here’s what one reviewer had to say about it:

I am able to scan the entire room. I like that I am able to view & communicate with them with either the original unit or with my phone. the screen on the unit itself is pretty tiny but it’s a good size on my phone. The camera moves at the touch of a finger, faster on the unit, slightly delayed on the wifi. I like that you can add a second camera and I will likely use this as a nanny cam. It works well both in day light (colour) and in darkness (black and white).

Another reviewer pointed out the poor battery life, which they stated as coming down to 60% after two hours. I would argue that compared to other video monitors, this actually isn’t too shabby! I have the Motorola video monitor and it seems that all I do all day every day is charge it. Poor battery life seems inevitable with baby video monitors, especially when these are techier like the Summer Infant one as it as wi-fi capabilities.

(75% Off) Cheetah or Whale Wireless Mouse: $5.39 & Free Shipping @ HP Canada!

Posted by on May 16, 2015 at 4:00 PM

(75% Off) Cheetah or Whale Wireless Mouse: $5.39 & Free Shipping @ HP Canada!

I was browsing round the HP store, looking for deals. They offer free shipping on absolutely everything there, so it’s quite a nice place to search for techie bargains. I stumbled on the promotions and special offers page, and I was glancing at the accessories tab when a couple of mice jumped out at me (not in real life, that would be scary). The whale and the cheetah patterned mice were 59% off, down from $21.99 to only $8.99. I was happy to see this offer and I was thinking about blogging it up, when I glanced in our coupon section here on Bargainmoose, only to see that there was a coupon code for an additional 40% off HP accessories! This means that you can pick up the above cute mice for only $5.39 each!

The HP coupon code AFMYACC40 must be used to get these mice for the above price. Just pop the mouse of your choice in to your shopping cart, apply the coupon code there and proceed through checkout. Enter your details, and you will also see that it is free shipping to your home.

Avigayil previously wrote about these mice in her post about a HP coupon code, here. At that time, these mice were $6.29 each, but they’re even lower now with this new coupon code. Whoop! For around five bucks for a brand-name wireless mouse, you can’t say fairer than that.

If any of you carry around a laptop and use it for work or business, I would really recommend buying one of these mice. For me, I have a Sony Vaio which I use from time to time. It’s got a little touchpad for a mouse, but I find it infuriatingly awkward to operate as I am so used to the excellent mouse on my desktop computer. I bought a little Logitech mouse which is very similar to the above, and I just throw it in my laptop bag when I am travelling. It’s incredibly useful. Once, I forgot to bring spare batteries for it and it died while I was away working… but I was able to re-home a couple of batteries from the hotel room TV control!

Which do you prefer? The cheetah or the whale? Cheetah is my preference.

7″ Android Google Certified 4.4 Tablet With Dual Cameras & 8 GB Only $24 + Shipping @ Walmart.ca (EXPIRED)

7 Android Google Certified 4.4 Tablet With Dual Cameras & 8 GB Only $24 + Shipping @ Walmart.ca (EXPIRED)

Walmart is having a clearance blowout sale, but there is a hidden deal. Pick up this hidden 7” Android 4.4 Tablet with Dual Cameras and 8GB for only $24!

I think almost everyone can find a use for a tablet these days. I was originally going to tell you about a great deal on this 7” Android tablet with only one camera on clearance today, but along the way found an even sweeter deal! The 7” Android 4.4 with dual cameras comes with just a little bit more in the tech specs.

  • 8 GB memory that is expandable to 32 GB via microSD card
  • 512M Ram
  • Screen resolution of 1024*600 HD
  • Running Android 4.4 OS – Kit Kat
  • Front and rear facing cameras
  • Google certified
  • Full access to the Google Play Store and apps
  • 12-month warranty

So looking at this tablet, do not expect it to hold up to the heavy use of an adult or teenager. There are many reasons to consider a cheap tablet such as the 7” Android dual camera tablet. Here are a few ideas that I had for this tablet.

  • Kid tablet for basic games
  • Hold your recipes digitally without dripping on your phone
  • YouTube viewer
  • E-reader
  • Digital Picture Frame
  • Selfie station for a party
  • Amazing swag gifts for a party (invite me!)

I already mentioned that this is a better deal than the other Android tablet on clearance. Let’s check out some similar tablets on the market elsewhere. I found a Double Power 7-Inch Android 4.1 Dual Core Tablet with 8GB of memory and only a front facing camera at Amazon.ca on sale for $55.99. At BestBuy.ca, the most inexpensive tablet I could find was the D2 Pad 8 GB tablet also running Kit Kat. This tablet will set you back $70.89. Over at Staples.ca, I found the 7” Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite that also has 8GB of ram but runs Jelly Bean. For this tablet, you will pay $129.92 on sale.

At this price for electronics, reviews are never going to be perfect. I did see this tablet carries a three out of a five-star review.  Multiple users talk about how the tablet does a great job for some of the low use suggestions I mention above. There are of course some people frustrated it is slow, but if you upgrade the memory slot it will help. Here is one happy grandma keeping her grandkids entertained.

7 Android Google Certified 4.4 Tablet With Dual Cameras & 8 GB Only $24 + Shipping @ Walmart.ca (EXPIRED)

Sadly, there is no more free shipping unless you spend a minimum of $50. This item also does not qualify for free shipping to a Canadian Post stop, I am guessing because it is electronic. Shipping to most locations is a flat rate of $4.95. You also have the option of filling your cart to the $50 minimum to receive completely free shipping.

Snag this secret deal now. Once the word gets out, I bet these tablets will be flying out the door.

Dell Canada: Dell 20″ Monitor Only $99.99 (Save $60)

Dell Canada: Dell 20 Monitor Only $99.99 (Save $60)

**BUMP – This deal is back on at Dell Canada**

I have not seen a deal on this monitor for over a year so I figured it was a good deal to post. Purchase a Dell 20″ E2014H monitor for only $99.99 with free shipping. The regular retail price for this monitor is $149.99 $159.99.

Whenever a Dell monitor goes under $100, I always take note. While there are many brands of monitors out there, Dell monitors are known for their quality and they hold their value a lot better than other monitors do. I resold my hubby’s basic Dell monitor for $40 when he got rid of his desktop when some people can hardly give away their monitors.

This monitor features a 19.5″ display with 1600 x 900 optimal resolution at 60 Hz. The monitor is backlit by LED. You can adjust the screen by tilting it, but you cannot swivel it from side to side. The screen has both an anti-glare coating and a hard coating for a prolonged lifespan. That is one thing that drives me insane about my laptop, the glare off the computer screen is something awful. Even if I turn up the brightness, it does not eliminate the glare problem.

The 20″ Dell monitor seems to be well loved by reviewers. One reviewer said:

So glad I choose this monitor to compliment my new dell desktop. The color display of the monitor is crisp and vivid. The monitor’s adequate size allows for a display that is easy to view. My favorite feature though is the clear crisp colored display. I’d buy it again without hesitation.

All six current reviews give the monitor a full five out of five stars.

I expected the monitor to come with the usual one-year warranty that most products come with these days. However, the tech specs say that a three-year advanced exchange service is included. This is interesting, as I would think any problems you would find in a monitor would show themselves within the first few years. I am curious if this would include dead pixels; I expect so.

One commenter pointed out that this monitor does not come with built-in speakers. They still argued that this was a fantastic monitor for the price, but also said that one of the reasons Dell could keep the price so low was because of not building in speakers. However, the reviewer was still impressed enough to give a five star review.

Walmart Canada: Lexar S50 16GB JumpDrive 2/Pak Only $10 *HOT*

Posted by on May 14, 2015 at 1:02 PM

Walmart Canada: Lexar S50 16GB JumpDrive 2/Pak Only $10 *HOT*

Walmart Canada is selling a two-pack of Lexar S50 16GB Jump Drives for just $10! That works out to only $5 per Jump Drive.

Walmart no longer has free shipping with no minimum to your home, but you can still get this shipped for free (no minimum) to your local Canada post outlet. This is by far your best option for shipping.

The same two-pack of Lexar S50 16GB flash drives currently costs $40.44 at Amazon Canada. Individual units cost $16.44 @ Amazon Canada, $14.94 @ Staples Canada, and $8.99 @ Best Buy Canada (where they are currently on sale). I also found a cached page for Walmart’s previous price, which was $24.99.

Whether you would buy these separately or as a two-pack, Walmart Canada has the best price by far! The next closest price is still nearly double.

The reviews for this two-pack of Lexar flash drives are great. 70 people have reviewed the pack on Walmart Canada for a 4.6/5 score. One reviewer said:

Works well and have found no issue to date. Transferring of data was quick. Got them on anniversary sale. They were great value for my dollar. I agree with other comments over the slider cover. Could have been made to slide smoother but not a big feature issue…

These keys normally retail around the $15 price range for any brand name that you would recognize. Sometimes, on sale, they come down to around $10 each. To purchase two for $10 is pretty much unheard of.

These Jump Drives come with a two-year warranty. You receive one purple and one black covered jump drive in each pack. These little drives are fantastic for transporting photos, videos, and music. As a student, I found these imperative to saving and storing my homework so I could work on it both at home and at school. There is nothing like going to the library to work on your paper and then not having the in progress paper with you.

I assume these will sell out quickly, so purchase yours ASAP. These are available to ship to your local Canada Post so there is no reason to pay shipping fees.

Dell Refurbished Coupon Code: 40% Off $159+

Posted by on May 14, 2015 at 11:30 AM

Dell Refurbished Coupon Code: 40% Off $159+

Dell Refurnished is back with this Victoria Day long weekend with a new promotion: receive 40% off orders of $159 or more. Orders under this minimum will still receive 25% off.

Click here to shop @ Dell Refurbished Canada now

  • Coupon Code: 40VICDAY15
  • Discount: 40% off
  • Expiry: 18th May 2015

This coupon combines with Dell Hot Deal items for the best discounts possible on office quality refurbished computers, monitors, accessories, and more.

I know I am totally out of my depth with these computers – as they are designed to be work stations and do not use the same hardware as regular computers. However, I always think bigger stats are better. I have been thinking about speed lately – mainly because my computer is deathly slow. The OptiPlex 990 Core i5 Quad 3.30 (i5-2500) is built for speed. It comes with an i5 processor with up to 3.30 Ghz of processing speed. The 250 GB hard drive and 4 GB RAM will certainly store a decent amount of information, but that is not what this desktop is built for. Originally $609, the desktop is on sale for $517. After coupon, this desktop comes down to $310.20.

Everyone likes a big monitor when they are working for long hours at a computer. Several people I know prefer two monitors so they can have multiple documents open – at a size they can read – at the same time.

There are plenty of Dell Professional Series P2012H 20-inch Flat Panel Monitors available right now, over 20 I believe. These monitors make an excellent edition to your current office monitor or a great replacement monitor if yours is obsolete. Originally $129, they are in the hot deals section for just $109 each. Now, if you just purchase one, you are going to pay $81.75. However, if you purchase two, then you will pay just $65.40 each as your discount goes from 25% up to 40%. You will need to add two monitors individually as each has a different serial number.

Monitors this size can easily cost $100+ new so this is a good way to pick up bulk monitors for a very cheap price.

Shipping depends upon what you are purchasing and where you are shipping. There is no set fee and I could not find out if they have a minimum for free shipping. I know for sure that anything in this post would still require shipping paid for its delivery.

For this and future Dell Refurbished coupon codes, please visit our forum.

NCIX Canada: Steelseries Headset Was $50 | Now $14 & Free Shipping

NCIX Canada: Steelseries Headset Was $50 | Now $14 & Free Shipping

*** BUMP – the 3HV2 is now down to only $14 & free shipping @ NCIX! ***

Still looking for a killer headset at an inexpensive price? Check out NCIX’s deal today on the Steelseries 3HV2 noise reduction headphones with retractable mic that was $49.99 and now $19.99 only $14. If you want to go one step up, they’ve got the Steelseries 5HV3 headset hi-fi headphones with retractable mic on sale too, with a regular price of $79.99 and now $49.99. So you can buy the cheaper pair for only $20 or pay the regular price for the cheaper pair for the better set. You’ll also get free express shipping on either item.

I have to be honest here – I know nothing about headphones. I remember the days of headsets like these and listening to New Kids on the Block on my walkman at recess. Then everyone was all about the teeny headphones that go inside your ears, but now this style is back, as it delivers better sound quality and I’ve got to think it is more comfortable in ways. Also, it does block out the external noise like your mom yelling at you to do your homework.

Made from all-leather, these are extra-padded so they are comfortable to wear all day. They fold up so you can take them wherever and they have a retractable microphone so you can be heard crystal clear.

What the second set has that the first doesn’t is a more “powerful and detailed audio experience”, with tournament grade audio drivers. You can dismantle these for taking them places, like to your friends to play games. They are specifically made for gaming, so you’ll hear everything in the game with clarity, like footsteps and gunfire.

Reviewers give both headsets four stars out of five. Here is a review of the first headset that you might enjoy:

NCIX Canada: Steelseries Headset Was $50 | Now $14 & Free Shipping

Of course I shopped around to ensure this was the best price on the market (and it is or I wouldn’t be telling you about it). I found the 3Hv2 at NewEgg for $39.99, at Amazon for $43.99 and at The Source for $34.99. The Steelseries 5HV3 I found at Amazon and BestBuy for $79.99, and at Frontier PC for $116.98!

U-BAND Sport Armband Accessory Was $29 |Now $9.59 With Coupon Code + Shipping @ Tuango

Posted by on May 13, 2015 at 10:02 AM

U BAND Sport Armband Accessory Was $29 |Now $9.59 With Coupon Code + Shipping @ Tuango

If you work out, an armband holder for your phone can become almost a necessity. Over at Tuango, they have a nice little U-BAND sports accessory for your phone. This holder retails for $29, but it is on sale today for $11.99. Use our exclusive coupon code and the band drops down to $9.59.

If you are not familiar with Tuango, you should start checking out their deals. Tuango was only in Quebec but has recently expanded across Canada. Right now pick up this great U-BAND sports armband for your iPhone or Android. Use our coupon code MOOSE15 to take another 15% off any order at Tuango. To check out all the deals across Canada, make sure you have the indicator in the top left corner set to either your location or “elsewhere in Canada” if your city is not listed.

I always find it so much easier to keep motivated during my workout when I can listen to music. I have tried listening to podcasts and audiobooks, but nothing gets your heart pumping like some good songs. This handy little armband will keep your phone safe and secure. I tried a few times to shove my phone in my pocket and it just weighs you down.  I have used a similar neoprene and Velcro holder in the past and it was handy.

This deal comes with a few options that fit a variety of phones, but are all at the same price point.

  • Option 1 is compatible with iPhone 4/4s, iPhone 5/5S and iPhone 6. This band is available in pink, black and purple.
  • Option 2 is compatible with Samsung S3/S4/S5 (Android). This band is available in hot pink, black and purple.
  • Option 3 is compatible with iPhone 4/4s, iPhone 5/5S and iPhone 6. This option comes with a removable yellow pocket to stow a key or something else small. Colour choices include black, pink and blue.

The U-BAND armband is sold only through second party sellers on Amazon Canada and does not retail elsewhere. Wagjag has a similar phone holder that is only compatible with iPhone 5 and 6. If you were to pick up the deal at Wagjag before they sell out, you will pay $15. Over at Best Buy Canada, the cheapest armband I could find was $19.99, plus you would have to either pay for shipping or top off your cart to $25. I also found an Adidas universal armband phone holder over at Newegg.ca for $19.99. I think Tuango has a sweet deal for one of these armbands.

Shipping costs vary at Tuango and are dependent on the item you purchase. For this sports armband, a $4 shipping charge will be added to your final purchase. It also says that taxes are included, so that’s a little bonus for you as well. Grab one of these now while they still have your colour choice. I noticed many people have purchased this item, and these deals do sell out.

Save 79% TODAY ONLY! Jawbone Up Size Small Or Large Was $140 | Now $30 & Free Shipping @ Amazon Canada (EXPIRED)

Save 79% TODAY ONLY! Jawbone Up Size Small Or Large Was $140 | Now $30 & Free Shipping @ Amazon Canada (EXPIRED)

The first generation Jawbone Up has been discontinued, and you can score a hot deal on one now. Previously selling for $139.99, you can now pick up a Jawbone Up for only $29.99. This item also qualifies for free super saver shipping.

Fitness bands have been hot recently. Now is a great time to try a model super cheap. The Jawbone Up has been one of the stronger contenders in the fitness band trend we have been seeing. This band can be worn all day and night to help track both fitness and rest patterns.  The wristband connects to a free mobile app that also allows you to track your calories, water and other nutritional information. We saw the price drop to $40 before, as Avigayil mentioned, but this is the steepest discount I have seen on this product. Be careful when you purchase as not all of the bands are at a price quite this low. Below I have listed the sizes and colours on sale for this low price.

  • Small Jawbone Up – Onyx
  • Large Jawbone Up- Onyx
  • Large Jawbone Up- Blue

Over on the website for Jawbone, I found a pdf that explains the sizing. You can use the guidelines to make sure you buy the correct size for your wrist.

Price Comparison

Best Buy Canada has the most competitive price, with these first generation Jawbones on sale for $39.95. Over at Chapters Indigo, the medium and large size Jawbones are available for $90. All small sizes are currently out of stock. Over at Staples Canada, the small and the large sizes are still available, and you will pay $99.97.

Reviews seem mixed for this product. I am seeing some people who really love this band and others who had complaints about the software being a bit buggy. There is a new model out, the Up24, which is probably why this model is now being discontinued. Others rave about how great this tracker is and how helpful it is. Here is one of the shorter reviews on Best Buy Canada, though there are many long reviews available.

Save 79% TODAY ONLY! Jawbone Up Size Small Or Large Was $140 | Now $30 & Free Shipping @ Amazon Canada (EXPIRED)

I would say if you are beginning a new fitness routine, this is a great device to pick up and try without much cost. Tracking on the go is one of the hardest parts of starting any new lifestyle change. This little device can help you to make the transition a little easier.  If you are intense with your fitness goals, this may not be the device for you. I would make the choice quickly, this price is only good today.

Philips Sonicare FlexCare Premium Toothbrush 2 Pack Was $180 | Now $145 & Free Shipping @ Costco Canada

Philips Sonicare FlexCare Premium Toothbrush 2 Pack Was $180 | Now $145 & Free Shipping @ Costco Canada

Dental care is important, and you are the first line of defence for your teeth. Start a healthier habit with the Philips Sonicare FlexCare Premium Toothbrush. This double pack was $179.99 but is now $144.99 and includes free shipping to your door.

I had no problems with dental care until I had my daughter, not even a cavity. In the time I was pregnant, my daughter managed to leech enough minerals that now I have trouble with cavities. My friend just had a baby and is also having the same issue. I had been using a manual toothbrush previously, but my dentist recommended upgrading to an electronic toothbrush to get a better clean.

If you too need to upgrade, now is your chance. This Philips Sonicare Flexcare Toothbrush is on sale in a double pack, much cheaper than you would pay for a single toothbrush. This kit comes with two electronic toothbrushes, two brush heads, a UV sanitizer to keep your brush clean with the charger integrated, two travel cases and a travel charger. This is a great pack to split within a family. Even if you are on your own purchasing this, I would like the double pack for travel so I could keep one at home and one for on the go. You also have two programs with timers to make sure you clean for the recommended amount of time each day.

Price Comparison

The discount on this item may look initially small, but if you compare it to what else is available on the market you are saving quite a bundle. Over at Amazon Canada, you could pick up this same double toothbrush set for $239.95. Best Buy Canada carries this same toothbrush in a single pack for $199.99, which is still more expensive than the Costco double pack. It would cost you $399.98 to pick up two of these at Best Buy Canada.  Shop.ca had these toothbrushes on sale for $129.99 for one toothbrush but are sold out. Buying two would have cost you $259.98 if they were still available. London Drugs has a similar Flexcare toothbrush in a platinum edition instead of this premium edition selling for $199.99, or $399.98 if you bought two. Costco Canada’s deal on a double pack of these toothbrushes is looking great now.

If you are looking for an electronic toothbrush with sound reviews, this brush has it. Over at Costco Canada’s website, there are ten reviews and every single review is rated as five stars. Here is one happy reviewer.

Philips Sonicare FlexCare Premium Toothbrush 2 Pack Was $180 | Now $145 & Free Shipping @ Costco Canada

You do need a Costco membership to grab this deal, or a friend with a membership who will help you out. On the Costco website, it mentions you can grab this deal in store at some locations. With free shipping, I would let them bring it to me rather than fight the crazy Costco parking lot.

Dell Canada: Free Upgrades Desktop & Laptop Sale

Dell Canada: Free Upgrades Desktop & Laptop Sale

Dell Canada has a sale that greatly interests me. Right now they are offering free upgrades for the same price (and sometimes lower) than the base computer. These upgrades are free and fantastic if you like faster processors, better graphics cards, and touch screens without paying extra for them.

This kind of sale is cool. Many of these upgrades would cost substantially more (a couple hundred dollars). Now, the sale is laid out so that the first product in the pair is the normal product and the second product is the same item with a free upgrade. The price is either the same or cheaper.

My first example is their first deal! The Inspiron 15 5000 Series Non-Touch usually retails for $729.99. Instead of that base mode, purchase the Inspiron 15 5000 Series Touch that was $888.99 and is now $699.99. The only difference between the two models is the free upgrade: a touch screen. With this deal, you also save an extra $30. Your laptop comes with an i5 processor, 8 GB of memory, and a 1TB hard drive.

In the sale, I also found a great deal on a desktop. This Inspiron Desktop retails for $669.99. It comes with an i5 processor, 8 GB of memory, and a 1TB hard drive. Purchase the upgraded Inspiron Desktop with 12GB of memory (instead of 8GB) for faster processing. This desktop still just costs $669.99.

The Inspiron 13 7000 Series 2-in-1 laptop truly has it all. At $949.99, it is a convertible laptop that switches between tablet and laptop mode: see image above. For truly mesmerizing speed, purchase the upgraded Inspiron 13 7000 Series 2-in-1 laptop with an i7 processor (instead of i5) for $949.99. This upgrade is valued at $139 and will be well worth your money. Once you have worked on an i7 processor, it is very hard to go back to a regular processor.

There are several Alienware models included the sale as well. I am a big fan of Alienware, but it is really only necessary for gamers who play demanding games that require speed and amazing graphics. Tetris does not count. These other deals give you nice bonus features like memory, speed, and more for the same price as the base models.

With the Dell Advantage program, Dell customers receive 5% back on purchases of $100 or more. This takes the form of a Dell ePromotional card. You can then use the code on this card against your next purchase. All items ship free from Dell.

Sony Active Sports Headphones Were $24 | Now $12 & Free Shipping @ NCIX (EXPIRED)

Sony Active Sports Headphones Were $24 | Now $12 & Free Shipping @ NCIX (EXPIRED)

If you are looking for a basic pair of sport style headphones, then look no further than NCIX.com. Currently, they have discounted the Sony (MDRAS200W) Active Sports Headphones in white from $24 down to $12 with free shipping.

A simple and inexpensive set of headphones can go a long way. While I love big expensive headsets, sometimes they are just not financially feasible or really that necessary. Unless you are a real audiophile living off music for hours upon hours per day – you are simply not going to appreciate the extra quality that more expensive earbuds provide. If you do notice a quality difference, it still may not be worth the extra money for that little bit of difference you found.

Price Comparison:

The Sony Active Sports Headphones cost $24.99 @ Best Buy Canada, $19.99 @ Sony Store Canada and $21.99 + $3.99 shipping @ Newegg Canada. They are not sold from Amazon Canada directly, but marketplace sellers currently have them at $19.99 + shipping. None of these places offers free shipping at a low enough minimum that these Sony earbuds would ship free – except NCIX.com.

My partner likes to go for walks and runs with his small iPod Nano. He does not want the bulk of a headset, yet the earbuds can be a bit annoying to keep in your ears while running. A set of sport style earbuds is the answer to this problem. They have a piece that hooks over the ear to keep the earbuds steady and in your ears.

These actually have a good frequency response:

  • Maximum Frequency Response: 22 kHz
  • Minimum Frequency Response: 17 Hz

Many headset brands still give 20Hz – 20 kHz responses. These sports earbuds will give you a good range.

One reviewer on Newegg.com (where they are $17.06 US) said:

Pros: nice fit. won’t fall out of ears. great sound!
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: BEST sounding sports style earbuds I’ve ever heard. A+ sound. great bass for the size.

Reviews on Sony Store are very mixed. Many reviewers are complaining because the earbuds are not waterproof. Essentially, if you have sweat pouring into your ears then you might have some issues. Of course moisture buildup is going to interfere with the sound in something that is not waterproof! Honestly though, this is a simple fix: wear a sweatband.
