eHarmony: Free Communication Weekend On Now

If you are single, Valentine’s Day can be a devil of a holiday for you. If you are interested in finding the one, considering online dating. Studies say that a huge number of people are meeting and marrying through online dating, so by not using it, you could be totally missing out. If paying for a membership to a dating site deters you, this weekend eHarmony has a free communication weekend, which starts now.

While you can communicate for free on eHarmony this weekend, you can’t use skip to mail, secure calls or send photos. You don’t need a credit card to sign up, so you won’t be charged after the weekend is over either. The great thing about this weekend being free is that you know there will be lots of other singles on there waiting to meet someone else as well.

Setting up your profile is actually kind of fun as eHarmony is all about finding you the perfect match based on the questions you answer. Although I’m married, it would be fun to find out what kind of person eHarmony would think I’d be compatible with, but I won’t do that since they say curiosity can kill the cat and get your spouse pissed at you.

eHarmony Canada: Free Communication Week

Enjoy a free communication week at eHarmony.ca, the online dating site, from today through the 1st of January.

Usually, you have to pay to use the service if you want to get in contact with potential matches, but for these seven days it is free. You can sign up without a credit card, so don’t worry about any any subscription fees kicking in after your free trial of the service.

There are a few exclusions:

Dating sites are a great way to find someone outside your usual pool of friends or small community. You can find people based on who would match well with you and make friends and perhaps find that special someone else. I hope some of our Moosers can find their special someone in 2014!

eHarmony: 7 More Days Of Free Communication

eHarmony: 7 More Days Of Free Communication

Little late on posting this one, but from October 1 – 10 eHarmony is having a free communication event where you can communicate for free with your compatible matches. No credit card necessary.

I have seen tons of eHarmony advertisements but don’t know anyone who has used the system. I have met a lot of people over forums, etc but only ever tried one ‘dating site’ and never met any long lasting friends even through there. I met my husband the good old fashioned way, in person. Have any of our Moosers had eHarmony success stories?

*Does not include eHarmony mail

Free Love

If one of your new year’s resolutions is to find a partner, get married and have a hundred babies, then eHarmony might be able to help! The popular internet dating site is are having a free communication promotion this week.

Normally eHarmony charge you a subscription, which you need in order to communicate with potential matches. But they’ve scratched that for the week (up to the 3rd January 2010), and you can communicate with anyone you like, completely for free.

Free love, eh?

Eharmony.ca Free Communication Weekend!

Eharmony.ca Free Communication Weekend!

Love is in the air… everywhere I look around… love is in the air… every sight and every sound…

OK, if you had heard me singing that tune, you would probably have poked yourself in the ears with hot knitting needles, to try and stop the pain. But if that’s what you feel like, maybe you’d be interested in checking out the free communication weekend on eharmony.ca.

Now normally you have to be a paid eharmony subscriber if you want to get in contact with any of your lovely matches. But this weekend, you can contact them for free! It’s a good chance for you to check out the service for a few days, and see whether you’d actually consider paying for a subscription.

If you’d like a laugh, take a look at this little 80s dating video compilation on youtube.

With such interesting comments as “Hi, my name’s Mike, and if you’re sitting there watching this tape smoking your cigarette, well, hit the fast forward button, cause I don’t smoke and I don’t like people who do smoke.” What an introduction! I do agree with him whole-heartedly, but it maybe isn’t the friendliest way to introduce yourself to possibly lady friends Mike!

Hi Mom” probably isn’t a good intro either!

Hating Dating? Loathing Loving? Get On eHarmony.ca!

Hating Dating? Loathing Loving? Get On eHarmony.ca!

12th Feb 2009 - Aahhhh the dating game. One of life’s little tribulations. But with the invention of the interwebtubes… dating is now so much easier! We have the likes of eHarmony Canada to help us to connect to like-minded people, for possible friendship… and more!

Normally eHarmony charge a subscription fee for you to review your matches and possible dates. However, on Valentines weekend (Friday February 13th – Monday February 16th 2009 NOW Thursday 26th March to Sunday 29th March 2009), they are waiving this fee and you can use their complete service for nothing. Nada. Zip. Zilch.

This is a pretty good marketing strategy from eHarmony.ca actually. It gets people using it who would not have tried it out, and hopefully will end up with a few extra paid subscribers after the free weekend is over. Hopefully, it will end with a few happy couples too!! So if you’re a man seeking a woman, a woman seeking a man, a man seeking some women, a man seeking a man, a woman seeking a woman, a hermaphrodite seeking an androgyne, a cat seeking a mouse, whatever… you might find your match there!

Hating Dating? Loathing Loving? Get On eHarmony.ca!I’ve heard a few scary stories about people who are quite addicted to these kind of sites. A friend of the family (lets call him Mr X) apparently fell in love with a girl from a nearby city. They met a few times, and were getting on fairly well. The next thing Mr X knows is that the woman’s sister called him to report that she was dead. This came as a bit of a shock! So he toured the cemeteries trying to find her funeral on the day it was reported to be, but alas and alack, he could find no such funeral! When he got home, the recently deceased was still logged into MSN instant messaging… but apparently that was her sister using her account. Hmmmmm. Beliveable. I don’t think so.

Have you seen Burn After Reading? The lady in that is quite into the whole internet dating scene. She hits the jackpot though, when she finds George Clooney is her blind date! Whoo hoo! That’s a blind date I could live with.

Thanks wardomatic.

UPDATE 26th March 2009 – free weekend is back! This time it’s the 26th to 29th of March 2009!
