Star Trek Box Sets Price Drops @ Amazon.ca: Save Up To 68%!

Posted by on December 2, 2014 at 3:26 PM

I’ve spotted a couple of great prices on Star Trek box sets online @ Amazon.ca! I’m a trekkie and have been for about 20 years now – I love these shows! They have been reduced by between 61% and 68% – here are all the details:

Save 64% on Star Trek: Stardate Collection [Blu-ray] (Bilingual) – was $139.99 now $49.99

Star Trek Box Sets Price Drops @ Amazon.ca: Save Up To 68%!

Elsewhere, you can expect to pay $109 @ Walmart, $146 @ Archambault, $110 @ Chapters, $115 @ Future Shop. This collection contains movies one to ten of the Star Trek motion pictures. Which is your favourite? I loved Generations – William Shatner and Patrick Stewart in one movie – SPINE TINGLING!!

Save 68% on Star Trek Deep Space Nine: The Complete Series was $449.99 now $144.99

Star Trek Box Sets Price Drops @ Amazon.ca: Save Up To 68%!

The prices for this box set elsewhere: $318 @ Staples, $338 @ Indigo. It’s got the whole Deep Space Nine collection… that’s ALOTTA Star Trek! I have to say that quark was one of my favourite characters in this. And I often go Quark-spotting – trying to spot the actor out of make-up, playing cameos in other TV shows.

Save 61% on Star Trek: Original Series (Remastered) 3 Season Pack was $159.99 now $61.99

Star Trek Box Sets Price Drops @ Amazon.ca: Save Up To 68%!

To buy this particular boxset elsewhere, there’s a similar one for $305 @ Walmart, but I don’t see this exact one on sale elsewhere in Canada. Looks like a lovely set! I bought the first series of the original Star Trek a few years back, it’s an absolute pleasure to watch. The best ever episode is in season two though – The Trouble with Tribbles. And Deep Space Nine (mentioned above) even did a Tribbles special episode too!

The delivery time scale on these DVDs and blurays is not fast – it’s one to three months on the latter item. So, you wouldn’t need to be in a rush to receive these. Don’t bank on getting them by Christmas. But they are superb prices for superb TV shows – and well worth the money, in my opinion. And they all come with free super saver shipping.

And let’s finish this deal off with a little quote from Bones:

Space is disease and danger wrapped in darkness and silence.

Nice.

Amazon Canada: Six Feet Under: The Complete Series On DVD | Was $175 Now $65

Amazon Canada: Six Feet Under: The Complete Series On DVD | Was $175 Now $65

Good morning, my fellow Bargainmoosers! Today on Amazon, you can get a really sweet bargain on Six Feet Under: The Complete Series on DVD. This DVD set normally sells for $174.99, but you can now purchase this for just $64.99! What’s also great is that you’ll also qualify for free shipping! Now that’s a nice incentive! It’s also a fantastic series that I highly recommend.

This set is something that you should seriously consider purchasing. Six Feet Under: The Complete Series on DVD contains all 5 seasons of this HBO classic, and it’s one heck of a show! I didn’t know what to expect when I first checked out this series… it revolves around a family that works in a funeral home, and the struggles, triumphs, and tragedies that they encounter while trying to pick up the pieces after the patriarch of the family passes away.

This is a deep show that has some dark comedy, riveting storylines, and plenty of familiar faces (Michael C. Hall, who later played Dexter, is in this series, and that’s how I started to watch 6 Feet Under). My girlfriend and I really enjoyed watching this series, and the series finale was extremely well done (unlike the controversial ending to The Sopranos).

If you wanted to buy Six Feet Under: The Complete Series on DVD at Best Buy, it would cost you $77.99 (it’s also currently sold out). Listed below is a brief review of this set from a satisfied Amazon customer:

I laughed and cried my way through this entire series. Watching it was like falling in love. The characters were so incredibly compelling that I felt I was part of their lives. This is a unique drama. Highly recommended.

This set was previously $63 on Amazon back in June (check out Eva’s post here), but that deal didn’t last very long, so here’s a second chance to save on this series! Happy hunting, my fellow Bargainmoosers!

Amazon Canada: Superman The Animated Series Complete Series Collection On DVD | Was $63 Now $19

Posted by on November 20, 2014 at 8:30 AM

Amazon Canada: Superman The Animated Series Complete Series Collection On DVD | Was $63 Now $19

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s Superman! Good morning, my fellow Bargainmoosers! Today’s deal at Amazon is for Superman The Animated Series: Complete Series Collection on DVD, which normally costs $62.48. Now, you can score this awesome DVD set for only $18.99 (plus $1.99 shipping). Now that’s what I call a deal! You’ll qualify for free shipping if you spend at least $25 on Amazon, so if there’s anything else you want to pick up from this popular online retailer, do it up so you could save on the shipping cost.

The Superman The Animated Series: Complete Series Collection on DVD comes with 7 discs in total – that’s a lot of content! You’ll be popping these DVDs into your DVD player, Blu-Ray player, or video game system for many days to enjoy these classic animated Superman episodes! I enjoyed this series when I was a kid, and I think that you’ll still be able to have some fun watching these cartoons.

If you have a child that loves super heroes, you can’t go wrong with a Superman cartoon. Back when I was a young child, I used to find the original Christopher Reeve-headlined Superman movies on TV on a regular basis, so I would usually watch them. Sure, I may not have known what was going on at the time (besides the fact that Superman was a good guy, and Lex Luthor was a bad guy), but I still have fond memories of watching them.

If you wanted to buy this Superman The Animated Series: Complete Series Collection on DVD at an American WalMart location, it would cost you $38.79 US. I’ve included a brief review of this series from a satisfied Amazon customer below:

I remember this show when it came out in the mid 90s, and I enjoyed it back then. Now I hope my kid will enjoy it as much as I did.

Happy hunting, Bargainmoosers!

Amazon Canada: Transformers The Complete Original Series On DVD | Was $100 Now $32

Amazon Canada: Transformers The Complete Original Series On DVD | Was $100 Now $32

Good afternoon, my fellow Bargainmoosers! Amazon is currently having another great sale today, and it’s a part of their countdown to Black Friday promotion. For one day only, you can order Transformers: The Complete Original Series on DVD for only $31.49! This DVD set normally retails for $99.99, so this is a very nice deal! You’ll also qualify for free shipping, which is always a nice bonus! So get out your Optimus Prime pajamas, make yourself a few Bologna sandwiches, get some fruit juice, and get ready for the ultimate flashback to the 80’s with this awesome Transformers: The Complete Original Series on DVD set!

Transformers is a franchise that has really exploded in popularity, thanks to the Michael Bay films that shattered many records since their arrival in cinemas in 2007. Today, they’re still extremely popular (Mark Wahlberg starred in the latest film, which you can buy on Blu-Ray, DVD, or even 3D Blu-Ray).

This Transformers: The Complete Original Series on DVD set chronicles the classic cartoon of this popular franchise. My older brother absolutely loved Transformers (and even its cheap knock-off, Go Bots). He kept some of his old Transformers toys, and even though they weren’t as popular in 1993, that’s when I ended up getting a new Transformers toy from the store. At that time, the cartoon was long gone, and all I knew about Transformers (besides what my brother would tell me) was that they had some cool toy commercials.

If you were to buy this Transformers: The Complete Original Series on DVD set from Shout Factory, it would cost you $63.98. It’s getting tough to find this DVD box set! I’ve included a brief review of this set from a satisfied Amazon customer below:

Daughter & I watch 2 episodes every night. Brings back tons of memories. Very good price, very good product. I would recomend this product to any Transformers fans

What do you get when you put a psychic and a pharmaceutical salesman in the same room? Well, if they’re both quick-witted and hilarious, then you’ve got the premise to Psych, a fun TV series that you should check out. Today’s countdown to Black Friday deal is for the complete series of Psych on DVD, and it’s quite the bargain! Psych: The Complete Series on DVD normally retails for $229.99, but you can now purchase this set for $69.99! What’s great is that you’ll also qualify for free shipping!

If you’re a fan of the banter between the snarky psychic and the uptight pharmaceutical salesman teaming up to solve a wide variety of crimes, then you should certainly check out this deal today. It’s a one-day sale, so you could only take advantage of this deal today. The series had many fans, so if you know of any family members or friends that can’t get enough of Psych, then this would be the perfect gift for the holidays!

Then again, you could also get this as a “gift” to yourself! It’s great to unwind and enjoy a TV series with no commercial interruptions, especially when you no longer have to wait until “next week” to enjoy the next episode! You’re also getting 31 DVDs in total with this set, so that’ll keep you entertained for quite a while! I usually put on an episode of CSI: Miami before I head to bed each night, and it’s become a part of my daily routine that I really enjoy.

If you wanted to buy Psych: The Complete Series on DVD from Best Buy today, it would cost you $139.99. I’ve included a brief review of this DVD set from a satisfied Amazon customer below:

Amazon Canada: Are You Being Served? The Complete Collection On DVD | Was $125 Now $46 (EXPIRED)

Amazon Canada: Are You Being Served? The Complete Collection On DVD | Was $125 Now $46 (EXPIRED)Good morning, my fellow Bargainmoosers! Amazon is continuing their savings-filled march to Black Friday with this deal for Are You Being Served? The Complete Collection on DVD. It normally sells on Amazon for $124.98, but you can now buy it for $45.99! You’ll also qualify for free shipping when you purchase this huge box set! This deal is only valid today, so get it while you still have a chance.

For those who aren’t aware, Are You Being Served? was a popular comedy program that played on the British BBC network. Episodes of this comedy show were also played on YTV here in Canada (and I’m sure it was on some other channels as well, but I specifically remember finding it on YTV late at night when I was a child, and it continued to be played when I was a teen).

This is a cute set for fans of this hilarious British show. My best friend was born in England, and I still specifically remember his Grandma and Mom watching this series and having a great time while doing so. This Are You Being Served? The Complete Collection on DVD set would certainly please fans of the series, since it’s packed with tons of episodes spanning 14 DVDs. It could be a great gift for the holidays.

If you wanted to buy this Are You Being Served? The Complete Collection on DVD from WalMart Canada, it would cost you $94.21 (that’s more than double the price on Amazon today). I’ve included a brief review of this set from a satisfied Amazon customer below:

I have been a huge fan of Are You Being Served for decades. This complete series is a necessary part of my DVD collection. The episodes need no comment, they are funny, entertaining, a great British show.

Cineplex Canada: Get 2 Free Cineplex Movie Tickets ($26 Value) When You Spend $29.99+ On Blu-Rays Or DVDs

Posted by on November 8, 2014 at 10:30 AM

Cineplex Canada: Get 2 Free Cineplex Movie Tickets ($26 Value) When You Spend $29.99+ On Blu Rays Or DVDs

Good morning, Moosers! I thought I’d bring this deal from Cineplex to your attention. Essentially, when you spend $19.99 on a home movie (digital) you’ll get 1 free Cineplex movie pass (a $12.99 value). What makes this deal appealing to me is the second option that you have for this deal: when you spend $29.99+ on DVDs or Blu-Rays, you’ll get 2 free Cineplex movie tickets ( a $26 value). Now that’s one heck of a deal! There are many great titles to choose from on the Cineplex website, including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on DVD (pre-order for $29.99) and 3D Blu-Ray (pre-order for $41.99), and Guardians Of The Galaxy (pre-order for $31.99 on 3D Blu-Ray). Plus, you’ll also get free shipping! Now that’s one worthy deal!

I literally just bought something from the Cineplex store because of this hot promotion! I pre-ordered Guardians Of The Galaxy on 3D Blu-Ray, and those 2 free Cineplex movie tickets automatically showed up in my cart. Since I love 3D Blu-Rays (and they usually sell for premium prices when they’re Disney or Marvel titles), this is a great deal. Also, what’s great is that this promotion will be active until December 22nd, so it won’t disappear right away.

Some of the more popular titles may not be in stock for very long, either, so I recommend that you browse the Cineplex website and look for some DVDs or Blu-Rays that you’d like to own. With 2 free movie tickets that you could use at any Cineplex location, you really can’t go wrong with this deal!

The Guardians Of The Galaxy 3D Blu-Ray combo pack currently sells for the same price at Best Buy and Future Shop ($31.99). I’ve included a brief review of the movie from Rotten Tomatoes below:

Guardians of the Galaxy is just as irreverent as fans of the frequently zany Marvel comic would expect — as well as funny, thrilling, full of heart, and packed with visual splendour.

Here’s to a great weekend – take care, Bargainmoosers!

Amazon Canada: Rescue Me: The Complete Series Only $21! (EXPIRED)

Posted by on November 6, 2014 at 2:38 PM

Amazon Canada: Rescue Me: The Complete Series Only $21! (EXPIRED)

Today only, Amazon has a hot deal on a complete series that has amazing reviews. Get the complete series of Rescue Me for only $20.99, with a regular price of $95.99.

I haven’t heard of this series before, but I am definitely intrigued, especially considering the low price for the entire series. This is a top seller today on Amazon, and because it is today only, I wouldn’t wait to get your copy if you are interested.

It looks like the show is set in a firehouse in New York, which already has me hooked – dramatic firemen in New York – yes please. It stars Denis Leary, among others and although I’m not a huge fan of him, the show has a very high rating on IMDb. Basically he is a firefighter who is recently divorced and moves in across the street from his ex-wife and three kids. Obviously there is going to be some troubles there.

Reading the reviews, people really do love this show. Some even stated their only problem with getting this complete series is that their housework got left undone. I can definitely see that as a problem that I’d like to have. One reviewer even likened this to shows like Breaking Bad and the Sopranos, which is saying quite a lot.

At last the classic series from Denis Leary and his firehall buddies. This is a classic that will become even more over time.

Now that you know you might want to watch this show, how do you know $21 is a great deal for a complete series. Well, for one, that sounds pretty good, doesn’t it? And for two, I’ve price compared it for you. I found it at Walmart for $64.67, which means Amazon’s price is over $40 cheaper. I found just season one at Shop.ca for the same price as you’ll pay for the entire series.

Shipping is free when you spend over $25, so you might want to check for a few add-ons and get yourself free shipping.

Amazon Canada: The West Wing – Complete Series Collection On DVD | Was $375 Now $89 (expired)

Amazon Canada: The West Wing Complete Series Collection On DVD | Was $375 Now $89 (expired)

If you’ve been looking for a convenient way to watch every single episode of The West Wing, then this is the deal for you! For one day only, Amazon is having a fantastic sale on The West Wing: The Complete Series Collection on DVD – it normally costs $374.95, but you can now purchase this massive set of DVDs for $88.99! That’s right – this deal is allowing you to save $285.96 in total! Plus, you’ll also qualify for free shipping! Very nice!

There is a lot of content available in this complete collection of The West Wing on DVD! This set comes with 45 discs in total. That’s a huge amount of episodes to watch (154 in total, folks). Plus, Martin Sheen plays the president – how can you go wrong? You’ll have plenty of entertainment that will last you for a long time!

I’m currently in the midst of the CSI: Miami series (which has ten seasons in total), and it’s great. It’s not something where you’ll have to watch a marathon of it every single day, but it’s a fun show for me to watch at night before I head to bed. Because there are so many episodes, it will take me a while to finish the series, but I’m in no rush. After all, it’s an entertaining way to cap off the night (and after working all day, it can be tough to get through a movie in the evening sometimes).

If you were to purchase The West Wing: The Complete Series Collection on DVD at WalMart in America, it would cost you $197.46 US. It costs $262.46 at Chapters Indigo, so this should show you how great this deal at Amazon is.  I’ve included a brief review of this massive set from a satisfied Amazon customer below:

This was a wonderful purchase. It was in perfect condition, it came fast – before it was even supposed to arrive! Nothing was wrong with any of the disks. It is amazing..and of course the show is the best!

This deal is only valid today, so get this deal before it disappears! Happy hunting, Bargainmoosers!

Amazon Canada: American Horror Story Season 1 Only $18

Posted by on October 28, 2014 at 3:00 PM

Amazon Canada: American Horror Story Season 1 Only $18

Amazon has some spooky deals going on for Halloween and selling some of their scarier titles on DVD and Blu-Ray at a significant reduction. One that I found that I needed to tell you about is the first season of American Horror Story. It is now only $17.99, with a regular price of $40.08.

If you haven’t heard of American Horror Story, you are in for a treat. I happened to hear about it on a site that listed all the shows you need to binge watch, so I did just that and binge watched the first season. What an incredible series! I have only recently found out that each season is a different story, so I’m sad to say goodbye to the characters I came to love in the first season. This means that each season is sort of like a little continuing movie that lasts a number of hours.

Basically, the first season is about a family who moves into a home that has been haunted by ghosts. You’ll question who is and isn’t a ghost all the way through the series, but you’ll definitely be scared and thrilled while watching this show. Jessica Lange plays an absolutely fantastic portrayal of a jilted and a bit psychotic next door neighbour, but you’ll still love her anyway.

I priced compared season one and found it for $34.99 at Best Buy and $39.97 at Walmart so you are essentially getting it for half the price.

There are a few other shows and movies available in the horror genre on Amazon for great deals like the second season of American Horror Story, which I need to see, and is now $23.99, regularly $49.98. The Omen Collection looks way too scary, but the price is not at only $17.49, with a regular price of $54.98.

Shipping is free when you spend over $25, so I wouldn’t hesitate to get both seasons one and two, because I know you’ll love it and want to pop in the next season as soon as the first ends.

Amazon Canada: The Office: The Complete Series On DVD | Was $230 Now $90

Amazon Canada: The Office: The Complete Series On DVD | Was $230 Now $90

That’s what she said. Today’s deal at Amazon is for the complete series of The Office on DVD – normally selling for $229.99, you can now purchase this set for $89.99. You’ll also get free shipping with your order! The Office: The Complete Series on DVD is currently on sale for $139.99 at Best Buy and Future Shop.

Oh, how I loved The Office – its dry humour that gave us a glimpse into a, often-mismanaged Scranton, Pennsylvania paper company known as Dunder Mifflin was a ground-breaking show for its time. It intrigued me when I first watched it back in the mid-2000s, since I didn’t hear the obligatory laugh-track in between every joke on the show.

Remember when TV shows had to remind us when we were supposed to laugh? After watching The Office, it kind of ruined many shows with laugh-tracks for me (at least the newer ones – I will always love Seinfeld and The Fresh Prince of Bel Air).

Either way, I really enjoyed watching The Office. It was a thoroughly enjoyable series with memorable characters such as Dwight, Andy, and of course, Michael Scott (played by Steve Carrell). One of my favourite lines in the series is when Michael Scott (the manager of the Dunder Mifflin office in Scranton, PA) is trying to motivate his employees, and has the following inspirational line written down on chart paper: You miss 100% of the shots that you don’t take. -Wayne Gretzky -Michael Scott.

The last few seasons aren’t as creative or hilarious as the earlier seasons, but they’re still fun to watch. Mindy Kaling of The Mindy Project also rose to prominence during her time on The Office. I’ve included a brief review of The Office: The Complete Series on DVD from a satisfied Amazon customer below:

Ordered for myself and my wife. It’s our favourite show. Hilarious, smart, and just perfect. Steve Carell is so funny.
The display is very nice and simple. Amazing!

Get this great DVD set before it’s sold out! Happy hunting, Bargainmoosers!

Looking to get into the right mood for Halloween? Well, today’s deal at Amazon just might be the spooky solution that you’re looking for! Remember the Leprechaun movies? Where the magical little person from Willow (Warwick Davis) played a scary Leprechaun? You can now purchase the Leprechaun: Pot Of Gore Collection DVD Set, which contains 6 Leprechaun movies, for just $12.49 (plus $1.99 shipping). This set normally retails for $46.99, so you’re saving 73% on the regular price!

The Leprechaun: Pot Of Gore Collection DVD Set contains all 6 movies in this popular horror series. That’s a lot of entertainment for a small price! This deal may not be around for very long, so click on the link above and check out this deal before it’s gone!

This would be a very entertaining DVD set to have, especially if you’re a horror fan, or want to entertain your friends before Halloween. I remember first hearing about this movie in the early nineties, and while they were pretty silly (I mean, come on – one of the later movie titles is Leprechaun 4: In Space), you can’t go wrong with some cheesy horror flicks! I’d love to check out some of these with my girlfriend, especially after having a few glasses of wine! That’s a fine night of entertainment right there.

The Leprechaun: Pot Of Gore Collection DVD Set typically costs $37.59 on Shop.ca, and it’s currently $29.99 at Future Shop. I’ve included a brief review of this Leprechaun: Pot Of Gore Collection DVD Set from a satisfied Amazon customer below:

I have been waiting for this to be at a good price and finally, after a while of waiting it paid off. I am very happy to be the owner to them now – all 6 movies! Amazing, thank you Amazon Canada: Leprechaun Pot Of Gore Collection DVD Set | Was $47 Now $13

Good afternoon, my fellow Bargainmoosers! Today’s deal on Amazon allows you to get House: The Complete Series on DVD for $79.99 (was $229.99). You’ll also qualify for free shipping! This critically acclaimed series stars Hugh Laurie, and if you’ve never seen it before, you should at least check out an episode of it online before you decide to get this DVD box set. Personally, I loved the series – it was must-see-TV at its finest.

This DVD set is huge. It comes with all 8 seasons of House, which should definitely keep you entertained for quite a while! Whether you love or hate the brooding and sarcastic character of Dr. Gregory House, it’s a show that’s addicting to watch (especially when you have every season on DVD).

I first watched House in the late 2000’s (my mother was a big fan of the show), and from there I was hooked. I’d sit down with my mom every week and watch the latest misadventures of Dr. House, and I can honestly say that it was a lot of fun. It was also a nice break from my hectic work schedule at the time! I was freelancing and spending countless hours in my office, so watching House was a great way to break that monotony.

House: The Complete Series on DVD currently rings in at $183.99 at Future Shop, and it’s $158 at WalMart. Listed below is a brief review of this box set from a satisfied Amazon customer:

Birthday gift for my wife. They are great. Best way to view these are in chronological order. You pick up on some sub theme that aren’t necessarily apparent in the once a week viewing. My wife and I will sit and listen to 2 or 3 episodes in a row during evening tea and a game of Scrabble.

If you’re looking for a new TV series to check out, then you should consider getting House: The Complete Series on DVD. Happy hunting, Bargainmoosers!
