Amazon Canada: Frozen DVD Only $13

Amazon Canada: Frozen DVD Only $13

Amazon has a terrific deal on Disney’s Frozen on DVD. This amazing movie is only $13, was $35.99. I know that it has never been this low and was just recently released, so if you haven’t picked this one up yet, you need to now. Even if you’ve already picked it up, this would be a good time to get your second copy.

Frozen has really been clogging my Facebook feeds for a while. The hype has not died down from either the kids or the adults and I even think I’ve heard Let It Go while walking down the aisles of the grocery store. My kids totally love this movie and yesterday they watched it again for the billionth time and my youngest son was jumping up and down yelling “Frozen! Frozen!”.

This movie has captivated people so much, it has won awards and adults are giddy about how great it is. I did watch it and liked it, although MegaMind will always be my favourite kids movie. This one really is feel-good though.

If the movie isn’t the deal for you, but you love Frozen, did you know Amazon has a Frozen store? They do! I found a number of sales in there on books, toys and dolls. I’d love my own Olaf doll.

Shipping is free when you spend $25, so you might as well pop into the Frozen store and pick up one more thing to save the fees. Also, I wouldn’t wait, Amazon is notorious for deals selling out mega-quick.

Amazon Canada: Zumba & Workout Gear Up To 40% Off

Posted by on March 3, 2014 at 11:00 AM

Amazon Canada: Zumba & Workout Gear Up To 40% Off

Amazon has Zumba sets and individual items, plus other fitness gear on for up to 40% off.

I tried Zumba a few times and while my friends told me how much they loved it and were certified Zumba queens, I just couldn’t get into it. I am not a terribly co-ordinated dancer, so I just felt like I wasn’t doing the steps right. Saying that, I was still hot, sweaty and had a racing heart at the end of each set, so it was still a great workout and kind of fun. The perfectionist in me just couldn’t let myself be so free as to think of this as my type of workout.

The best deal is on the Zumba Fitness Exhilarate: The Ultimate Experience DVD set. It comes with seven DVDs with music from the hottest and most beat-busting genres, and two toning sticks. It was $129.95, now $79.95.

If you want something less comprehensive, the Zumba Fitness Exhilarate Body Shaping System has four DVDs plus a bonus DVD and the toning sticks. Was $59.95, now $49.95.

If you are a baby boomer, you’ll love the Zumba Fitness Gold Live It Up DVD set. Zumba is really a great workout for older people, because you know your limits and you can go at your own pace. Was $49.95, now $39.95.

Shipping is free on orders over $25.

Amazon Canada: Star Trek Into Darkness Blu-Ray, DVD and Digital for Only $10!

Posted by on February 1, 2014 at 6:30 PM

Amazon Canada: Star Trek Into Darkness Blu Ray, DVD and Digital for Only $10!

Go into the Darkness… of…  Star Trek? I dunno, this is falling apart. Whatever, it’s a great movie for $10! Amazon!

I love Star Trek. The Original, Next Generation and all the way to enterprise. I love the movies. The old ones, the new ones. All of it. My dad bought me a toy Tricorder for Christmas once. And a communicator. That was awesome. As much as I love it all, I haven’t seen the latest one.

That’s probably because I’m old and instead of buddies I have a kid and a wife. A wife who would probably jump out of a moving car rather than see a Star Trek movie.

With this deal I have no excuse. $10 to get the Blu-Ray, DVD and digital copy? Awesome. So for the folks out there like me who haven’t gotten a chance, well, here it is. It’s gotten great reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and pretty much everywhere else. I guess it isn’t as good as the previous Star Trek but that’s kind of expected I guess.

I’ve heard people say that Benedict Cumberbatch as Khan is worth seeing the movie for all on it’s own and I believe it. Talent.

Shipping is not free unless you spend $25 and depends on where you are. The movie isn’t prime, either.

Amazon Canada: Stanley Kubrick Essential Collection Only $19.99

Posted by on December 22, 2013 at 9:44 AM

Amazon Canada: Stanley Kubrick Essential Collection Only $19.99

With some wicked good movies in this collection, you’ll pay $19.99 for this DVD set from Amazon, was $95.99. This deal is on today only.

I’ve actually seen very few of the movies on this list, as many of them came out when I was younger, but they are classic must-see movies. The list includes:

  • Spartacus
  • Lolita
  • Strangelove
  • 2001: A Space Odyssey
  • A Clockwork Orange
  • Barry Lyndon
  • The Shining
  • Full Metal Jacket
  • Eyes Wide Shut

The Shining, of course, is that iconic Jack Nicholson flick that completely messes with your mind. I’ve also heard A Clockwork Orange will leave you with one scene in your mind forever. Full Metal Jacket is also just as mesmerizing. Eyes Wide Shut, I did see, but it was definitely not a favourite movie. If you like movies that leave you with questions about humanity, this is the boxed set for you.

As always, Amazon will ship for free with orders over $25, so treat yourself to something else or pay for shipping on this set. I wouldn’t wait too long, this set will go quickly.

Cineplex Canada: 50% Off Digital Download Movies, Blu-Ray Or DVD

Posted by on December 20, 2013 at 9:00 PM

Cineplex Canada: 50% Off Digital Download Movies, Blu Ray Or DVD

Snuggle up with a movie for 50% off this Christmas courtesy of Cineplex.

I don’t really watch a lot of movies. The few I do watch are generally older ones like Wayne’s World or So I Married an Axe Murderer. Apparently I have a thing for Mike Myers. Any-who, the one time I am certain to watch a few movies is on cozy winter days inside with my family. There is nothing that I love more than snuggling up all nice and warm with my wife, kid and some junk food in front of a movie. It helps if it’s a blizzard outside, of course and a 50% off movie doesn’t hurt.

These aren’t cheap-o movies, either. Just the top line of the sale has some big name movies:

  • Mon of Steel
  • We’re the Millers
  • Pacific Rim
  • Hangover Part III
  • Great Gatsby
  • Cloud Atlas

I could see them doing 50% off older movies, but these are all fairly new movies, though there are also older ones like Hotel Transylvania, Lord of the Rings and Grown Ups.

You can get scene points for buying or renting these movies, which can add up to get you free movie tickets. Shipping on the physical versions of these is free. Well, it’s free for me.

Amazon Canada: Holiday Movies $6.99+

Now that Halloween is over, we can start thinking about Christmas.  We already have lots of snow here in Calgary, and seeing all this white snow makes me want to cuddle under a blanket and start watching Christmas movies.  Amazon Canada has some really great deals on holiday movies as low as just $4.99.

There are a variety of movies that include DVD, Bluray and special multi-disc editions.  There are also a great selection of holiday made-for-TV classics that are great buys as well.

Here are a few of my holiday favorites:

I love buying all my favourites, because Christmas movies are the type of movies that you can watch again and again without getting bored with them.

As for the cost of shipping, all of these movies qualify for free shipping in orders of $25 or more.

Amazon Canada: Scooby-Doo Complete Series Only $30 (Was $86)

Amazon Canada: Scooby Doo Complete Series Only $30 (Was $86)

Today only at Amazon, get the complete series of Scooby-Do Where Are You! on DVD for only $29.99, was $86.15.

There are seven discs in this set plus a bonus disc with some pretty cool features. This is a limited edition set with 41 episodes over three seasons.

My kids absolutely love Scooby Doo and I think they’ve seen everything out there that they can see with Scooby Doo in it. We even considered naming our dog Scooby if it were a boy, but instead she was a girl so we named her Ruby. Still considering adding the boy dog just so we can have Scooby and Ruby. Anyway, this is a fantastic show with “meddling kids”, ghosts and a lot of references only adults could understand. It is a great show for adults and kids to enjoy.

Shipping is free when you spend $25+, which you are in this case, so it ships for free too!

Amazon Canada: Homicide: Life On The Street Complete Series Only $60 (Was $170)

Amazon Canada: Homicide: Life On The Street Complete Series Only $60 (Was $170)

If you are looking for an awesome deal on a no-holds barred show, then Amazon has a treat for you. Get Homicide: Life On The Street, the complete series for only $59.99, was $169.99.

This deal is only available today, so you want to snap it up quickly. There are 35 discs included in this set for seven seasons, which means almost 100 hours of viewing! This one will keep you busy over the long winter months.

This show is highly rated and it is a #1 boxset seller at Amazon. I’ve never seen it, but am always looking for the next great show to watch. It has won numerous awards, including Emmys and has a number of great actors.

One reviewer who loves the show said:

Homicide: Life on the Street is a gritty, no-holds-barred take on the day-to-day interactions of members of the Baltimore Police Homicide Unit. The officers involved in the unit (for the first 4 seasons at the very least) are generally not the typical “beautiful people” that too often populate most TV dramas. The strength of the series is that the characters are real people. They have good days and bad, they make mistakes and have triumphs, and they live, breathe, and sometimes die. The series strikes a good balance between focusing on the character interaction and focusing on the plot the players are moving through. The intensity of being in “the Box” (the interrogation room) is phenomenal. You feel like you are right there sometimes, trying to break the criminal sitting across from the detectives.

Shipping is free for this item.

Amazon Canada: Columbo The Complete Series $62.99 & Free Shipping (Reg. $160)

Posted by on August 20, 2013 at 12:00 AM

Amazon Canada: Columbo The Complete Series $62.99 & Free Shipping (Reg. $160)

There is a deal at Amazon Canada that will save you 61% on a box set from a classic TV series. Get the complete series of Columbo for just $62.99 and get free shipping as well.

I will have to admit, my parents loved this show when I was growing up and made my sister and I watch it, therefore I am not a huge fan.  My husband, on the other hand, absolutely loves Columbo and wants to watch an episode whenever they are on TV (which is not often, thankfully). This series is truly the original detective show that is the premise of newer shows now like CSI.

Included are sixty nine episodes and the twenty four made-for-TV movies with this set.  The regular price of this set is $159.99, but you can get it for just $62.99 which is a huge deal!

Shipping is free.

iNetVideo Canada: Over 75 DVDs For $5 or Less Each

Posted by on June 29, 2013 at 9:00 AM

iNetVideo Canada: Over 75 DVDs For $5 or Less Each

Choose from over 75 DVDs for only $5 each from iNetVideo Canada!

There are a lot of DVDs here from every genre. You have comedy, horror, drama, classics, documentaries and even workout DVDs. Here are a few popular options:

  • W. – Was $10.51 – Save $5.52 – Now $4.99
  • Daybreakers - Was $14.98 – Save $10.99 – Now $3.99
  • Lost in Translation - Was $9.99 – Save $6.99 – Now $3
  • Jillian Michaels – No More Trouble Zones - Was $14.99 – Save $10 – Now $4.99
  • The Dark Knight (Two-Disc Special Edition) - Was $24.98 – Save $19.98 – Now $5

Really there are more than 75 DVDs available for under $5. I think the point of the 75 was that it’s 75 DVDs that are normally over $5 that are now under $5. For example I think the two-disc special edition DVD of The Dark Knight Rises for $5 is definitely a sale item. The other ones I listed may all have ‘was’ prices of over $5 so they might be in this deal too, but I’m not 100% sure. Either way you’re getting a good deal!

I know that now DVDs are old and everyone is streaming HD or running Blu-Ray but what about your car’s DVD player to keep the kids busy or even the old TV-DVD combo you have at your cottage or in your RV? It may be going the way of legacy media but there are still tons of uses for DVD movies!

If you get on this deal right now you can get FREE shipping on orders over $44. The FREE shipping deal expires on 30th June 2013 and you can see the details here. Outside of the FREE shipping deal, iNetVideo’s shipping policy is $2.75 for one or two items and an additional $1 per item after that.

Amazon is having a Canada Day sale with movies and TV shows on sale at up to 80% off.

Whether you have a Blu-Ray or DVD player, Amazon has some great deals on your favourite movies and shows.

In honour of James Gandolfini, the Sopranos complete series is a great one to get. Watch Tony Soprano take down his foes with ease. If you haven’t ever watched the Sopranos, you have no idea the talent you are missing. Even a real convicted mobster professed on a radio show I listened to that Tony Soprano was so true to life, he could have been real. Was $399.99, now $238.99.

Canadian movies and shows are on sale with up to 52% off. Check out great Canadian favourites like Being Erica, Caillou, Corner Gas and Heartland.

On Blu-Ray I highly recommend Life of Pi. I recently saw this amazing movie that had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Filmed graphically and brilliantly, you’ll want to see this on the biggest screen you can. Was $49.99, now $14.99.
