Downpour.com 12 Days Til Christmas: Audio Books Up To 75% Off

Downpour has begun its very own countdown until Christmas, with up to 75% off select audio books during their 12 Days ‘Til Christmas sale.

Every day until Christmas, Downpour will be slashing different audio books in price. Here are a couple of examples of the kind of audiobooks you can expect to see:

Although nothing compares to the feeling of turning the pages of a real book, audio books can actually be a great way to just relax your eyes, all the while enjoying a good story. They’re also particularly useful for anyone who is on the road a lot (i.e. truck drivers) or perhaps even in any field requiring repetitive tasks. In either case, do make sure to exercise caution, and to pay attention to whatever else you’re doing!

Do you enjoy listening to audio books or do you know someone who does? Share with us your thoughts on them in the comments section!

There are tons of great Black Friday deals out there for people who still read with their eye holes like suckers, and for those of us who have professionals read books to us. So, without much further ado, let’s get to the deals!

Audible.com

There are over 400 books available on Audible.com for only $4.95. There is stuff in every genre, from Sci-Fi and Fantasy to nonfiction and Romance (filth, just filth) and everything in between. Not sure what to get? Check the Editors’ Choice.

If you aren’t a member then

Once you’re a member, sign in and

Downpour

Downpour has over 1000 books at 75% off. No membership here, kids: just buy and download. If you can’t figure something out with 1000 books, you just shouldn’t be reading.

Audiobooks.com

Audiobooks.com (what a sweet domain name!) are a membership-only service, so you can’t buy a-la-carte like Audible or Downpour. That being said, they don’t have any book sales, but they do have a deal on gift memberships which is a great idea. You can get 30% off of three months, or 40% off of one year.

BooksFree.com

This is like Netflix’s old DVD service and a library totally made out. Basically, you can get paperback books, audiobook CDs and MP3s, or a combo. You can get monthly plans or rent them a-la-carte. I feel like the 50% off memberships deal they have on the front page isn’t a Black Friday deal, and it’s only for the first month, so there you go. The one that is a holiday deal for sure is the 25% off gift memberships. Get paperback, audiobooks, one month, three months, two books at a time, one, five, whatever you want. Mix and match with this coupon, kids.

You’re a sucker. That’s right. You. The person sitting there reading a book with their eyes. Yeah. You’re a sucker. Don’t worry though. Bargainmoose is here to give you 10% off the very thing that will make you not a sucker. Audiobooks! That’s the ticket out of suckerdom.

Ok, let me explain why I’m calling you, the reader, the person who essentially pays my salary here at Bargainmoose, a sucker. It’s because of that paperback sitting next to you. It’s the old way of doing things. You are a slave to the book. If you want to read a paper book, you need to stop what you are doing and focus entirely on the book. You are wasting cycles. Audiobooks are the way to do it. You can listen to audiobooks while you drive, while you work out, while you cook, while you do chores. Most people, I suspect, don’t like cleaning. I love cleaning because it gives me a chance to read. I can be elbow deep in a toilet but as long as I’m listening to my book, I’m happy.

Go ahead, stick your arm in the toilet and listen to some great books from Downpour. Want more deals? Check out our Downpour Coupon Codes!

Downpour Coupon Code: Free Frankenstein Audiobook (Save $16.95)

It’s alive! It’s alive! The deal is alive! Seriously, this deal is live. Get a copy of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein for FREE from Downpour Audiobooks!

Click here to get your copy of Frankenstein @ Downpour.com

  • Coupon Code: FRANKENFREE
  • Discount: FREE Copy of Frankenstein
  • Expiry: Unknown

This is the perfect way to get in to Audiobooks. It’s FREE so you aren’t going to be out any money on something you may not like. On top of that, it’s a classic, so most people are going to like it. Sometimes you see these FREE book deals but it’s for a book that only appeals to certain people. Maybe it’s a mystery book and you like sci-fi. Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus is a classic for a reason.

Mary Shelley’s book is read by Anthony Heald, Stefan Rudnicki and Simon Templeman. Stefan Rudnicki seems like a familiar name to me but I can’t figure out where I’ve heard him before. Regardless, it looks like these guys all have some great books under their belts so they likely do a great job at bringing these books to life. The book is 8 1/2 hours long, which is a good length to start at. Some of these forty hour monsters can be pretty intimidating.

Downpour Audiobooks: Get ANY Audiobook For $6.95 w/Coupon Code

Nothing makes a company look better than standing by its products and that is exactly what downpour is doing with this deal! Get ANY Audiobook for $6.95!

Click here to shop for Audibooks @ Downpour.com

  • Coupon Code: ANY695
  • Discount: Get Any Audiobook for $6.95
  • Expiry: Unknown

Here are a few books that you can save a lot on with this deal! It should be noted that it is for downloads only.

  • Elantris by Brandon Sanderson – Was $39.99 – Save $33.04 – Now $6.95
  • Christine by Stephen King – Was $49.95 – Save $43 – Now $6.95
  • The Burning City by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle – Was $24.95 – Save $18 – Now $6.95

I really do like that they are standing behind their products. I think audiobooks have a bad reputation and this goes a long way to getting people into audiobooks. Personally I don’t read any book unless it’s in audio format. I can listen in the car, while doing chores or while shopping. Any place you would usually be unable to hold a book, you can read with an audiobook.

Downpour: Save 25% on Audie Nominees & Winners!

Posted by on March 4, 2013 at 2:00 PM

Downpour: Save 25% on Audie Nominees & Winners!

The Audies are like the Oscars of Audiobooks. Downpour Audiobooks has 422 Audie nominees and winners, the best audiobooks out there, on sale for 25% off!

So you know how after the Oscars or Emmys or whatever stupid award show you see the winners and nominees advertised everywhere? It’s the same thing with the Audies. The difference is that the Audies are awards for the best books you can have shot directly into your brain via your earholes. This isn’t a $30 blu-ray of a 90 minute movie about farting in 1972. This isn’t 74 minutes of vapid lyrics. This is a fantastic reader pushing a book into your head. Hours upon hours of fantastic literature and Downpour has it for 25% off.

Some of the books available are:

There are definitely some awesome books available here. This is just from the first page of this sale.

DownPour.com: FREE Audiobook w/ Membership

Posted by on January 11, 2013 at 3:30 PM

DownPour.com: FREE Audiobook w/ Membership

We’re an equal opportunities kinda setup here at Bargainmoose and we don’t discriminate against Audiobook retailers because they are different than the one we are used to. Especially when, like Downpour, they give you free stuff.

I want to get this out right away. You’ve all seen me rant and rave about one of Downpour’s competitors. I go on about how great they are but that’s because, for me, they are the best. That is simply because I have been with them for years. If I was starting over, Downpour would be another option.

Before I get into the service itself, I’ll talk about the deal. The deal here is that when you sign up for a membership, you get one free credit. Generally one credit equals one book but some are two.

Now, the service is different from that unnamed service that I use as they not only offer downloadable Audiobooks, they offer CDs as well. I know that most people aren’t buying CDs anymore but it’s nice to have the option. They also have MP3 CDs, which is nice. One thing to keep in mind is that this service is still in BETA, meaning that the site may have problems and the service may change or be unstable from time to time. You’ll need to have patience.
