The Source Canada: Open-Box Fujifilm FinePix S4800 16 MP Camera | Was $200 Now $80

Posted by on October 19, 2014 at 6:00 PM

The Source Canada: Open Box Fujifilm FinePix S4800 16 MP Camera | Was $200 Now $80

Good evening, my fellow deal hunters! The Source currently slashed the price on their open-box Fujifilm FinePix S4800 16MP Camera – normally selling for $199.99, you can now purchase this easy-to-use digital camera for $79.96! Your order will also qualify for free shipping! That’s always a nice bonus, right?

This Fujifilm FinePix S4800 16MP Camera is loaded with great features – it has a 16mp 1/2.3-inch ccd sensor with a primary colour filter, it can film 720p hd videos, has an hdmi (mini) port, accepts sd/sdhc cards, and has a 30x wide angle optical zoom. This is a great camera for this price!

I’m not entirely satisfied with the camera on my cell phone, so I think it’s important to still have a decent digital camera that you can use during special events. When you’re going to be at a memorable get together with friends or your family, a sports event, or a wedding, you’ll want to use a camera that you can rely on. Plus, you’ll want to be able to take high-quality pictures, and you can certainly do that with this Fujifilm FinePix S4800 16MP Camera.

On Amazon, this Fujifilm FinePix S4800 16MP Camera costs $169.99. If you were to purchase this camera from WalMart’s American website, it would cost you $199 US. I’ve listed an informative review of this camera from a customer of The Source below:

A little below in features of the newest cameras. Such as video quality at 720 not 1080. Zoom is not as powerful as newer models.
But it is below half the price of the current models out there and takes excellent quality pictures.

If you want to save some cash on a convenient 16MP camera that can also take videos, then you should definitely check out this deal before it’s gone. Happy hunting, Bargainmoosers!

The Source Canada: Fujifilm FinePix S4800 16MP Camera (Open Box) | Was $200 Now $100 (EXPIRED)

The Source Canada: Fujifilm FinePix S4800 16MP Camera (Open Box) | Was $200 Now $100 (EXPIRED)

Good morning, Bargainmoosers! This is a notable deal for a nice high quality camera at The Source. For a limited time, you can get a Fujifilm FinePix S4800 16MP Camera (open box item) for $99.96. The regular price of this Fujifilm camera is $199.99. Plus, you’ll also qualify for free shipping!

Some of the features of this Fujifilm FinePix S4800 16MP Camera include a 16mp 1/2.3-Inch ccd sensor, 30x wide angle optical zoom, a 3.0 inch lcd screen, and a 720p HDMI (mini) port so you can check out your videos and photos on the big screen!

Even though many of us already have decent cameras built into our cell phones nowadays, that doesn’t mean that it should be the only camera that we own. On special occasions like weddings, special birthday parties and memorable nights out on the town, would you prefer to take pictures that were 5 MP in quality, or 16 MP in quality like this Fujifilm camera has?

Plus, once you see how versatile this camera is, you’ll never go back to using your cell phone camera (unless you see something hilarious while you’re on your way home from work). Fujifilm has been a reputable name in the camera industry for many years, so this isn’t just some cheap digital camera that you’d order from China on Ebay – it’s a high quality camera that you can get for a more affordable price!

On Amazon, this Fujifilm FinePix S4800 16MP Camera costs $169.99, and it’s $199 US at WalMart (they are no longer in stock). I’ve included a snippet of a review from a satisfied Amazon customer below:

This camera was attractively priced for the large number of features it contains. It will take me a while to use them all! I’ve done a bit of experimenting in the short time I’ve had it, and it takes nice snapshots and is as easy to use and to learn as any comparable camera. I look forward to using and enjoying this camera for a very long time to come.

Like many deals for open box items at The Source, this likely won’t remain in stock for very long. The price will also be going up before midnight tonight, so now’s your chance to nab it for $100! Happy hunting, Bargainmoosers!

The Source Canada: Canon PowerShot ELPH 130 IS Now $99.96

Posted by on September 17, 2014 at 7:30 PM

The Source Canada: Canon PowerShot ELPH 130 IS Now $99.96

The Source Canada has a good deal on the Canon PowerShot ELPH 130 IS Camera. Originally $209.99, the camera is now on clearance for $99.96.

This camera is just on clearance, and does not appear to be an open box or refurbished model. I did some price comparing to ensure you are getting the best deal. I found the camera, in various colours, for the following prices. The same model is $136.26 @, $119.97 at Future Shop (sold out), $149.95 @ Newegg and $151.13 at Hookbag. The Source Canada’s price is the best out there currently.

The camera features:

  • 16.0 MP
  • 8x Optical Zoom(4x digital zoom as well)
  • 28mm Wide-Angle Lens
  • 720p HD Video Recording

It also has a 3.0″ screen to help you see your photos better and help you take better photos. The built in Wi-fi allows you to transfer wirelessly the photos from your phone to your computer. The camera also comes with a rechargeable battery, a recharger, and it appears to come with a case as well if the photos are any indication (as the text does not mention it).

This is a good camera for an affordable price. 16MP will give you good quality images and the 8x optical zoom will bring you in close enough to capture them. The 720DH video recording and the Wi-fi are bonus selling points in my book. I am not much for taking videos, but they often capture a mood or even far better than photos can. I certainly like having that built into my camera. It is also very convenient not to have to connect your camera to your computer each time you want to share pictures. I would love that feature on my camera.

Here is one review of the camera of off Amazon:

Great camera. I love it. The pictures are incredible and clear resolution at 16MP. I also have a Canon T3i and travel alot. But during travels, the size of the Canon T3i makes it very impractical and heavy. So the ELPH 130 is my travel camera. It goes on my hip and takes great pictures. I especially love the CMOS capability, which makes it a very nice camera for close quarters and limited lighting. I strongly recommend this camera to anyone looking to buy a camera that takes professional quality pictures at a fraction of the cost of a large professional camera.

There are tons of reviews of this camera on Amazon Canada, I suggest reading a few to get a good idea of what it does and it does not do. This camera is on sale in grey.

Receive free shipping on orders of $30 or more.

The Source Canada Overstock Sale: $140 Off Nikon CoolPix S9400 Camera – Now $140

Posted by on September 16, 2014 at 10:30 PM

The Source Canada Overstock Sale: $140 Off Nikon CoolPix S9400 Camera Now $140

The Source’s Overstock Sale is now on with up to 60% off plenty of electronics and among these, I found the Nikon CoolPix S9400 camera on sale for just $140.03, down from an original price of $299.99 (53% off).

The CoolPix S9400 digital camera features the following specs:

  • 18.1 MP
  • 4x digital/ 18x optical zoom range
  • CMOS sensor
  • 3.0″ LCD screen
  • 65MB built-in memory
  • Li-ion battery good for about 230 still shots

Reviews are mixed on this camera but if you’re not a photography pro and are looking for a relatively simple and straightforward digital camera to use, then this nifty camera may just be the one for you. On The Source’s page, there are only six reviews with a total of 3.2 stars out of 5, which definitely doesn’t paint the most accurate picture with regards to this camera’s performance because they’re very varied all the way from this 5 stars out of 5 review:

18.1 megapixels, fantastic zoom, and a great price. Small and compact. What more could you ask for?

All the way to this 1 star review:

Received the camera yesterday: can’t charge the battery. And according to the service rep, buying and external charger and/or a new battery might do the trick. I would think Nikon could sell cameras that work out of the box. Very disappointed . Won’t buy a Nikon product any time soon.

But to be fair, that latter review seems like a fluke and one that can happen with any gadget, even the upcoming iPhone 6! The Source Canada Overstock Sale: $140 Off Nikon CoolPix S9400 Camera Now $140

If you want to skip paying the $4.99 flat shipping rate, then you can ship this camera or any other order straight to your nearest The Source store instead. The way I see it though is that compared to the cost of gas that it might take you or even the bus fare (+ your time), it might just be easier to have it shipped straight to your door. Not to mention the fact that I had an order shipped to my nearest The Source store last Christmas and it took some time for it to arrive, or for them to even call me even though the majority of my order had been sitting at their store for a couple of days already when I checked in. I’m sure it’s different for every store but that’s just my experience.

This camera is one of many other overstock deals and they are all definitely worth a look but keep in mind that some have been reduced due to damage to the box. In these cases, you can rest assured that the products are sure to have been inspected and they will more than likely be completely fine! Other awesome discounts include but are not limited to:

The Source Canada: Canon Vixia HF R400 Camcorder Bundle | Was $330 Now $200 (Expired)

Posted by on September 14, 2014 at 12:23 AM

The Source Canada: Canon Vixia HF R400 Camcorder Bundle | Was $330 Now $200 (Expired)

There are many occasions during your life where you’ll want to use a video camera. Sure, you can use your smartphone’s video camera, but chances are that the video and audio quality just wouldn’t be good enough for certain events, such as weddings, celebrations, and other significant moments that you want to capture on video. Thankfully, The Source has a great deal on the Canon Vixia HF R400 – an HD video camera that’s high in quality and low in cost! For a limited time, you can get this high definition video camera for just $199.96 – the regular price for this bundle is $329.99! Plus, this item also qualifies for free shipping – whoohoo!

The Canon Vixia HF R400 camcorder bundle comes with a 4GB SD card, an HDMI cable, and a Canon camera bag. This high definition video camera has a 32x optical zoom, 1060x digital zoom, and a 53x advanced zoom.

I still have an older Canon camcorder that I purchased 7 years ago, and it still works great! However, unlike the Canon Vixia HF R400, my older camcorder uses MiniDV tapes, which makes the transfer of videos to my computer an exceptionally lengthy process.

The Canon Vixia HF R400 makes it easier to transfer your videos to your computer, since the videos are stored on an SD card instead of a MiniDV tape (like older camcorders). I would have loved to use a digital camcorder like this when I used to make movies with my friends, since it would have made the process so much easier for me (especially when I had to edit the videos on my computer).

The Canon Vixia HF R400 retails for $288 at WalMart, and it’s $379.99 on Amazon. I’ve included a snippet of a review of this camcorder from a satisfied Amazon customer below:

The video quality on this model is excellent. The performance in low light is slightly grainy but very good and better than usual for a camera in this price range with a small sensor, and as good as some far more expensive ones I’ve used. The audio quality from the built in mic is very good.

If you need an affordable camcorder, you can’t go wrong with this Canon Vixia HF R400 bundle. Get it while it’s still available, Bargainmoosers! I hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend!

The Source: Canon Powershot D20 Waterproof Digital Camera | Was $380 Now $200 (Expired)

Posted by on September 12, 2014 at 10:00 AM

The Source: Canon Powershot D20 Waterproof Digital Camera | Was $380 Now $200 (Expired)

If you’re seeking an affordable waterproof digital camera that’s been manufactured by a trusted and respected brand, this is it. For a limited time, you can save big by getting a Canon Powershot D20 12.1 MP waterproof digital camera for $199.96 at The Source – the regular price for this particular model was $379.99, so that’s $180.03 that you’ll save! This also qualifies for free shipping, so that’s not too shabby!

This camera has it all – it has a GPS tracker built in to it, is temperature resistant (from 14°F to 104°F), shockproof (up to 5 feet), and waterproof (up to 33 feet). You can also record HD 1080p videos with this Canon Powershot D20 waterproof digital camera, making it a very versatile device.

Speaking from personal experience, if you plan to visit a location that’s hot, I’d recommend bringing a waterproof digital camera. Even if you plan to be extra careful with your camera while you’re lounging at a beach, you never know what could happen. A friend of mine brought their camera near the water to take a picture of my friends and I, when she accidentally fumbled the device and it landed in some water. Even though it just touched a bit of water, the camera would no longer turn on. There were no more pictures taken during that trip!

This camera can withstand up to 33 feet of water – that’s a nominal amount of water! Plus, the reputable Canon name has been associated with cameras for decades, so it’s not like this is some no name digital camera that you can get for a cheap price on eBay.

Currently, the Canon Powershot D20 costs $318 at WalMart, and $279.99 on Amazon. I’ve included a brief review of this waterproof digital camera from a satisfied WalMart customer below:

This camera has done great. We have used it 20 + times under water fresh and salt water and even more than that on land. The pictures are remarkably clear. We loved having this with us while gone to Panama on our family trip.

Take advantage of this deal while these cameras are still in stock! Happy Friday, Bargainmoosers!

Sony Canada: Smartphone Attachable Camera $199.99 ($50 Off)

Posted by on August 3, 2014 at 4:00 PM

Sony Canada: Smartphone Attachable Camera $199.99 ($50 Off)

The coolest gadget possible is now on sale at Sony Canada. Hop on over to Sony to observe the Sony Smartphone Attachable Camera that is on sale for $199.99, down from $249.99.

This ‘camera’ will almost turn your smart phone into a DSLR camera. The Sony camera can be used attached to your smart phone, which is easy given little flip up support clips. You can also hold it in your hand without physically attaching it to your camera. That way you can be watching what you are going to take a picture of on your smart phone screen while holding the lens at whatever angle you need for the best shot. The smartphone and lens communicate wirelessly via Wi-Fi, and there will be an application to install on your phone to give you full control over the Sony camera portion. You can also edit and share photos instantly online via the application. Your images can be saved on both the camera and on your phone. The iAuto function automatically adjusts settings on the camera based on shot conditions and there is a sensor for low-light conditions as well.

The Sony camera features a 10x zoom and 18MP quality photos. High quality video is also possible with the Sony camera, as it will shoot 1080/30p HD video with low grain.

This Sony Attachable Camera is, frankly, the camera of the future. With everyone using their smart phone for taking pictures these days, actual cameras are becoming outdated. Even DSLR cameras are being left at home in favour of the convenience of something that fits in your pocket. The Sony attachable camera fits in your pocket (as long as you are not wearing skinny jeans). It is easy to carry and just throw in your bag. It pairs wirelessly with your smart phone and can turn a mediocre photo into an amazing photo in seconds. I went into a Sony Store and saw this attachable camera demoed on my own smart phone: I wanted one right then and there. My husband had to drag me out of the store so I did not buy one that second all the while reminding me I already own a DSLR. I might just sell my big DSLR camera and buy this Sony smartphone attachable camera instead.

Sony Canada offers free shipping on all orders.

DOD RX7W+ Car Rearview Mirror Camera Only $179.99 & Free Shipping @ NCIX Canada

Posted by on July 25, 2014 at 8:30 AM

DOD RX7W+ Car Rearview Mirror Camera Only $179.99 & Free Shipping @ NCIX Canada

Does putting your car into reverse send you into a full-blown, sweat-covered panic?  Never fear putting it in R again with this deal from NCIX Canada.  The regular price of the DOD RX7W+ Car Rearview Mirror was $219.99, but right now you can get it for only $179.99 as well as get free shipping right to your door!

I recently bought a truck: a huge truck.  This thing is a monster. On top of that, my boyfriend wanted to add a trailer hitch.  I am an absolute parking disaster in this thing, to the point that I generally park as far away from my destination as possible to avoid having to wedge my truck between any other vehicles.  There are, however, those rare occasions where I can’t find an isolated spot and may have to *gasp* put the truck into reverse to get out.  What’s a girl to do?  The truck bed is about a mile long and being up so high I’m just never entirely sure there isn’t a brood of little ducklings crossing behind me.  For the safety of everyone out there, I really need to get one of these rearview mirror cameras.

Now, most rearview DVRs include a dash camera which may be enticing to anyone interested in forcibly entering your vehicle, and I for one am always forgetting to put stuff like that away. This particular model, however, is actually disguised as a rearview mirror and attaches to your existing mirror with Velcro very easily, and is compatible with most vehicles on the market.  It has a Wide Dynamic Range lens and wide angle superior low light performance, helping you back out of the most troublesome locations.

Price comparison

I did a little snooping and found this same rearview mirror camera at for $189.99 (plus shipping) and at for $219.99.

Shipping on this item is completely free!

If you happen to be in the Surrey, BC area, be sure to check out NCIX’s Surrey store grand opening on Saturday July 26th from 9:00am to 6:00pm for door crashers and prizes.

Newegg Canada: FujiFilm Finepix XP200 Camera only $239.99!

Posted by on July 10, 2014 at 7:30 PM

Newegg Canada: FujiFilm Finepix XP200 Camera only $239.99!

Be ready to capture all your fun family summer memories with the FujiFilm Finepix XP 200 Camera from for only $239.99 (regularly 299.99)!

I’ll be the first to admit that sales named after sales that take place during other times of the year kind of tick me off.  Christmas in July and boxing week in July honestly just make me shake my head.  So Newegg’s Mid-Year Black Friday Event had me rolling my eyes a little bit.  Are we really that lost for creativity that we have to name an event in July after one in November?  How about hot summer sale?  Ok, rant over.  After I got past the annoying sale name, I was looking through the deals that are mostly on a whole bunch of gizmos and gadgets that I don’t understand and am not sure what I would do with.  But I did stumble on the great deal above for a FujiFilm Finepix XP200 camera, on sale for $239.99 (regularly $299.99).  Compared to what I found at The Source ($269.96 on sale) and from a secondary seller on ($274.01), this is a nice price on a nice camera.

This camera is essentially everything-proof.  It has four way protection, making it waterproof to 50 feet, shockproof to 6.6 feet, freezeproof to 14 degrees F (minus 10 degrees C) and dustproof.  The pool, splash pad, beach, and pretty much anywhere else I could think of taking this camera have nothing on that four way protection!  I think this camera would be pretty perfect for beach vacations where being dropped, getting wet, and sand are major factors.

The camera features a 16.4 megapixel ½.3” CMOS, a 5X optical zoom lens, and full HD 1080P video recording capability.  There is a 3.0” LCD monitor that is treated with an anti-reflective coating which helps to see the screen even in bright sunlight.  The Fujifilm Finepix XP200 also offers wireless image transfer allowing you to transfer up to 30 photos at a time to smartphones.  You are also able to access your camera remotely from your smartphone or tablet.

The Fujifilm Finepix XP200 is available in both blue and yellow.  I really like the yellow one as I feel like I might have a better chance of finding it when I put it down in a “safe place” that I forget about almost immediately.

Shipping depends where you live, but for me it was around $7.

Henry’s Canada Coupon Code: $10 Off $50

Posted by on July 10, 2014 at 11:00 AM

Henrys Canada Coupon Code: $10 Off $50

I don’t know if this is a new thing, but Henry’s has a promo code out that is good until the end of today. You’ll get $10 off of your $50 purchase. I have not seen coupon codes for them ever before, so this is a pretty sweet deal.

Click here to shop @ now

  • Coupon Code: THXJULY14WEB
  • Discount: $10 off $50
  • Expiry: 10th July 2014

Your first thought might be that Henry’s is a camera store, thus a place where you might spend way over $50. I can attest to your feelings as I recently spent over $900 at Henry’s buying myself a new Nikon camera. But, my camera needs a few things, namely lenses and other fun accessories. While I wouldn’t call myself a pro by any means, I also wouldn’t call myself the average person who takes photos. I did a year of photojournalism classes and I really believe have a slight talent for composition. I never toot my own horn, but I really am in love with many of the photos I’ve taken. This is why I spend a few $$ on a good camera. It really pains me to see people with a new baby with blurry photos. What are those kids going to think when they grow up and there are only blurry or sub-par newborn photos of them? Especially with technology the way it is now, there is no excuse!

So, one accessory for my camera that I absolutely must get, which I just found out about when I bought my camera was this Nikon WU-1A wireless mobile adapter. For use with Nikon cameras (like the one I just blogged about from The Source), you can transfer or upload your photos wirelessly. This means that if you are out with your camera and get that awesome shot of your kid scoring the goal, you can upload it to your social media immediately, rather than a) waiting until you get home to share the news or b) using your smartphone to take the shot, which is definitely not going to be as good as the shot from your Nikon camera. As I said in the last post, I’m tired of taking all of my electronic devices with me just to get “the shot”. Now I can get my photo, video and upload it with one device. This item is $69.99, but once I added it to the cart and added the coupon, the price came down $10 to $59.99. I’m happy I waited and am totally getting this for myself.

Shipping is free once you’ve spent $99, so you might want to try to get up to that threshold and save a few more dollars.

The Source Canada: Nikon CoolPix P530 Only $299

Posted by on July 10, 2014 at 10:30 AM

The Source Canada: Nikon CoolPix P530 Only $299

The Source has a cool deal going on for the Nikon CoolPix P530. It is on sale for $317.99 with a regular price of $369.99, but if you add the coupon code TSP530, your price will go down to $299.99.

Of course I spent some time price comparing and researching and found this bundle from Costco for the camera, plus a few other items for $394.99. It is a good deal if you want the SD card and gadget bag, although you are essentially paying $94 for those two items, which doesn’t make any sense to me. Best Buy also has the camera on sale for $329.99, but The Source’s price still beats it. Vistek also has the CoolPix camera on sale, but for $375.99 and it is out of stock. As you can see, The Source has the best deal.

If you are looking for an inexpensive, DSLR camera with zooming capabilities, you’ve come to the right place. This camera has 42x optical zoom and 84x dynamic fine zoom. It has the vibration reduction technology that gives your photos a clear look, even if your hands are a little shaky. I get excited taking photos too! I recently bought myself a new Nikon camera, although it is a far more expensive one, as I need the option to change lenses. This one doesn’t let you do that, but if you don’t care to, I’m going to say this is a perfect camera for you. It has so many features you’ll need otherwise. I think the Nikon brand is solid and I’ve never been disappointed in what Nikon delivers.

What most cameras are coming with these days is the ability to shoot 1080p full HD video. I wish I knew that before I bought my handy cam, as there is such a thing as having too many electronic devices with you. When my son had a play at his school, I had with me: my DSLR, the telephoto lens, my handycam, plus my phone so I could take a photo or video and immediately update it on my Facebook page. How nice it would be to just carry one recording device and be done with it!

You can get free in-store pick-up or you can get it shipped to you for $4.99.

Costco Canada: Pentax Q10 Digital Camera – Just $200

Posted by on July 7, 2014 at 9:00 PM

Costco Canada: Pentax Q10 Digital Camera Just $200

If you’re looking to buy a new digital camera, then Costco is selling the Pentax Q10 camera for just $199.97.

Towards the last trimester of my pregnancy, I upgraded to an iPhone 5s from the 4s generation one because I figured that with the imminent arrival of my baby, I would need a better camera. In hindsight, I should have perhaps kept my old phone and bought a digital camera instead because although the quality of my pictures has definitely improved, they definitely don’t compare to those taken with actual cameras as they are grainier when zoomed into.

The Pentax Q10 has the following noteworthy features:

  • 12.4 MP camera with a CMOS sensor
  • 3″ LCD monitor
  • full HD video
  • 5 fps high speed continuous shooting

The Photography Blog also recommends this camera for the everyday user as it has DLSR-like qualities without being a full-fledged DLSR one. I also really like that it’s small enough to fit into a pocket, or perhaps an overstuffed purse (;)) and only weighs 180 grams.

As for the battery life, according to Costco’s description, it can take an average of 260 pictures before needing to be recharged. The battery itself is also a lithium-ion one, which means that you won’t experience significant loss of charge when the camera isn’t in use. I particularly like this aspect as I’m definitely guilty of forgetting to recharge my electronics after using them.

I am very impressed for how much camera you get for a little price. It takes great shots if your not a pro but love pictures. Fun to use and looks smart. Super small and compact.

I love how that reviewer writes that this digital camera looks smart. I’m not too savvy with cameras, though I fancy myself to know a thing or two, but I definitely wouldn’t mind busting out this gagdet and taking pretty pictures, while turning the dial to the right setting as if I know exactly what I’m doing. Just kidding, but if you’re an everday photo-taker, then I’m sure you will catch my drift.

At $199, this is definitely the best deal all around for this nifty camera, especially since Amazon has it for $336.39 and The Camera Store is selling it for $379.56.

Even better is that Costco always offers free shipping on the vast majority of its products and you won’t have to worry about any pesky shipping fees.

June 27 Samsung NX2000 20.3MP SMART Camera With Lens (Now $349.99 Was $599.99)

Posted by on June 27, 2014 at 1:00 PM Samsung NX2000 20.3MP SMART Camera With Lens (Now $349.99 Was $599.99)

Looking to replace your point and shoot camera or ramp up your photography skills? is offering a pretty sweet deal on the Samsung NX2000 20.3MP SMART Camera with a 20-50mm Lens for $349.99 (regularly $599.99).

Point and shoot cameras have come a long way over the last decade. Although I don’t personally own this camera, I do have a Nikon DSLR and I absolutely love the option of the interchangeable lenses. Although most would say comparing a Nikon DSLR to a Samsung point and shoot is like night and day (and I would have to agree), I can say that a few of the features on this camera intrigue me and if I was in the market for a point and shoot camera, this one would be on my list.

Here are a few features that peak my interest in the Samsung NX2000 20.3MP SMART Camera:

  • The price: it fits a budget conscious buyer.
  • Changeable lens on a compact camera gives you the best of both worlds. Being able to adapt your camera based on your surroundings will open up a whole new world of possibilities for your photography.
  • Share your photos immediately via social media or email, or send them directly to a computer, printer or cloud service. Having the capacity to do this on the go ensures you never need to worry about running out of storage space.
  • The variety of added features make this camera so versatile, for instance the panoramic option (3D option as well), the several different easy-to-use filters allow you to edit and enhance on the go, as well as the ability to shoot video footage, a nice option when still photography doesn’t quite capture the magic.
  • Lastly, the fact that it comes with the 20-50mm lens to get you started. This is a standard zoom lens, perfect for everything from portraits to landscapes to sunsets.

Check out this review from one happy camera connoisseur:

This is a powerful, compact, and easy to use camera. The Samsung NX2000 is more than just a bridge between a point & shoot and a DSLR, it’s the real deal. In size, it’s comparable to many point and shoot cameras (without the lens) but in picture quality, it really shines. Even pictures taken at a distance come out with stunning detail. The easy share function means that I can automatically transport my photos to my smartphone and post on social networks right away. Or when you’re at home or at a WiFi hotspot, you can upload your photos to Facebook or sorted cloud drives.

You can find this camera at for $359.99 making the purchase at $10 sweeter.

Amazon Canada: Canon PowerShot S200 $180 (Save $140)

Amazon Canada: Canon PowerShot S200 $180 (Save $140)

Amazon Canada is selling the Canon PowerShot S200 Digital Camera in black for $179.99, originally $319.99.

I price compared this camera with some other Canadian companies to make sure you are getting the best deal. I found this camera at Future Shop Canada for $239.99, at Staples Canada for $249.97 and at Henry’s Canada for $269.99. Even looking at the best of those three prices (Future Shop), you are still saving an extra $60 with Amazon Canada’s deal.

This camera features a 10.1 MP camera lens, built-in Wi-Fi, 3.0″ LCD touch screen panel, and the ability to take 720p HD video. The Wi-Fi allows you to share your pictures wirelessly: just click and upload them to any one of your favourite social networking websites through the Canon Image Gateway. This camera can also connect wirelessly to both Android and iOS devices, a huge step forward for computer-less people. The camera can also print your photos directly to a wireless PictBridge certified printer.

There is a great review of this camera on While I will not repeat the entire thing here, this is an excerpt I thought would be useful:

The camera has the same excellent large-pixel CCD sensor as other pre-S100 PowerShot cameras. Low light performance is exceptional. Don’t be misled by the 10.1 megapixel count: a noise-free 10 megapixel image looks great compared to those taken with a camera with bigger numbers but subjectively inferior sharpness under low lighting.

I find this rather helpful because 10.1 MP count would usually turn me off as I would go for 16MP or above. However, the writer has a very good point and I would certainly reconsider the unit based on his feedback. While I love my DSLR, do not get me wrong, it is very cumbersome to carry around all the time. Many people would suggest I just use my iPhone camera but I tend to get frustrated with it. I took about ten pictures of a friend of mine yesterday: half of them were blurry, and the lighting on the three I took indoors was sub-par. Perhaps I am too accustomed to the great quality of a DSLR, but I will always need a better quality camera than my phone can provide.

If you are looking for a mid-ground camera, something that delivers brilliant pictures and still fits in your pocket, then check out this unit.

Receive free shipping on orders of $25 or more.
