Amazon Canada: $50 Off Select Nikon Lenses w/Purchase of DSLR Camera Bundles

Posted by on April 15, 2013 at 7:00 PM

Amazon Canada: $50 Off Select Nikon Lenses w/Purchase of DSLR Camera Bundles

Sure these bundles come with a lens, but you’re better than that, right? Right. That’s why Amazon Canada is giving you this awesome deal on another lens!

There are three camera bundles available. Please keep in mind that I don’t think these prices are specifically sale prices, they are just the regular sale prices. However, I included Was/Save/Now prices, just in case.

    • Nikon D3100 w/ 18mm – 55mm lens – Was $529.95 – Save $89.96 – Now $439.99
    • Nikon D5100 w/ 18mm – 55mm lens – Was $649.95 - Save $79.96 – Now $569.99
    • Nikon D7000 w/ 18mm – 105mm lens – Was $1299.95 – Save $149.96 – Now $1149.99

The lenses that you can pair up with the camera bundles are as follows. These are the prices before the $50 discount and, as with the above products, I’m including Amazon’s Was/Save/Now price.

The way this deal works is you choose one of the cameras by clicking the check box next to it then clicking the “add to cart” button. Then you switch over to the lens section and do the same thing. Amazon specifies that very clearly and I don’t know why. Maybe the deal won’t activate unless you use the page I linked to above. Whatever their reasoning, it’s a small thing to do to get this awesome deal. The $50 will come off at checkout and the products ship for free!

The Source Canada Coupon: Free Shipping on Cameras

The Source Canada Coupon: Free Shipping on Cameras

The Source Canada has a great sale on cameras right now. On top of that, they have a great coupon code offering free shipping on cameras.

Click here to shop @ The Source Canada

    • Coupon Code: CAM2631
    • Discount: Free Shipping on Cameras
    • Expiry: Unknown

There are some good deals on DSLR cameras by Canon and Nikon. Use the ID # listed below to find the products on The Source. Here are a couple of deals I though were decent – both Nikon:

    • #2546308 – NIKON D3100 14MP DIGITAL SLR CAMERA-BUNDLE – Originally $1029.98 | Now $639.98
    • #2516308 – NIKON D3100 14MP DIGITAL SLR CAMERA – Originally $699.99 | Now $449.99

The bundle includes an extra lens which I have found imperative… it is a 55 – 200 mm lens. The lens the basic passage comes with is only the 18 – 55mm. I think both lenses are necessary if you are getting into photography or just wanting to document your vacation in a meaningful way.

We will have all other Source Canada coupons posted up on the Bargainmoose coupon forum for easy shopping access.

Pricematters Canada: Nikon D5000 DSLR Camera Now $499.99

Posted by on March 21, 2013 at 9:00 PM

Pricematters Canada: Nikon D5000 DSLR Camera Now $499.99

Pricematters Canada has a nice deal on a re-certified Nikon D5000 DSLR Camera with lens. originally $769.99 the camera is on sale for $499.99.

It includes the 3x AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR lens. The product is recertified, but recertified products usually come with a 1 year manufacturer’s warranty.

Nikon is well known for their cameras – their quality is legendary. This is a great price for an entry level DSLR camera from Nikon. On trustedreviews.com (a UK website) the camera has received a 9/10 rating. They have an extensive review of the camera’s features as well as example photos and photo tests taken with the camera. A great review site to check out if you are planning to purchase.

I have a DSLR camera and they are certainly worth the investment. I have a Sony, but if I was ever to do it all over again I would go for a Nikon. The accessories that fit Nikon and Canon cameras don’t fit Sony cameras. Nikon also has a huge amount of prestige behind it and I like to think that is there for a reason.

I price compared with Amazon.com which has this camera listed at $609.99 on sale.

    Shipping varies depending on province.

So you can score yourself some fast free shipping, now you are wondering what to buy! Well, there are a bunch of excellent deals on at Sony right now, as follows:

There are so many great deals at the Sony Store right now, this just feels like the tip. My favourite deal is the Super Zoom Sports Action Camera – it comes with a Carl Zeiss lens and though that may just sound like some guys’ name – this guy is mythical for camera lenses. His lenses are usually the biggest and the best you can buy for cameras and the clarity you get is phenomenal. I’m jealous.

Amazon Canada: Canon PowerShot A2300 Was $150 | Now $89

Amazon Canada has an excellent sale on a Canon 6192B005 PowerShot A2300 IS 16.0 MP Digital Camera with 5x Digital Image Stabilized Zoom and 28mm Wide-Angle Lens with 720p HD Video Recording. It was originally $149.99 and is on sale for $89 in two colours.

    Features:

    • 16.0MP with Digic 4 image processor
    • Digital IS
    • Smart AUTO with 32 predefined Settings
    • 720p Movies a dedicated Movie Button
    • 5x Optical zoom 28 mm Wide-Angle Lens

I did some price comparison and the closest to this price was Henry’s and Canon who had theirs on sale for $99.99. The rest (like Dell) had the camera listed for $129 or higher.

For a camera that shoots video as well as takes pictures with a 5x zoom – this is a fantastic price.

Free shipping on orders of $25.

Costco Canada: Nikon D3100 14.2 MP DSLR Camera Bundle Only $449.99 Delivered

Posted by on February 25, 2013 at 9:00 AM

Costco Canada: Nikon D3100 14.2 MP DSLR Camera Bundle Only $449.99 Delivered

Costco Canada has a great deal on a Nikon D3100 14.2 MP DSLR camera bundle for only $449.99 including shipping. This camera sells for at least $20 more at competitor stores for just the camera alone.

I really need a new DSLR camera. I love photography and fancy myself as an amateur professional. I think I’m awesome at composition and capturing those raw, emotional shots, but the technical always trips me up. Once I get my brain back (aka, when all my kids start attending full-time school and I sleep through the night, so maybe never) I am going to sit down and take a photography course and really learn to use my camera. But, I’ve had my camera for almost eight years now and in DSLR years, that is quite a few. My photos are not as crisp and clear as my friend with the new camera and it is simply because of the new technology in the camera. I have a Nikon and I love it. I find it the best for capturing portraits and landscapes and close-up shots. I used to have a telephoto lens, which was great for when my kids were doing things that I didn’t want them seeing me see them doing. But, I took it to the beach to get those great splashing in the waves photos and sand got into and wrecked it. Poor me. Anyway, my excuse to get a new camera was that I could probably get so much more than I could by just replacing the lens. My camera is simply a photo machine and now many of them let you do movies too, just like this one from Costco.

It also has a learn-as-you-grow guide mode, which is perfect for the technically inept like me.

Here are some of the features of this camera:

    • F-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR lens (3x Optical Zoom, Optical Image Stabilization)
    • Effective Pixels: 14.2-megapixel DX-Format CMOS Sensor
    • LCD Monitor: 3.0” diagonal (230,000 dots) TFT-LCD with brightness adjustment
    • Motion Video Quality: 1080p (1920×1080 24fps), 720p (1280×720 30fps, 25fps, 24fps), 640×424 24fps
    • Top Shooting Rate: Up to 3 frames per second at full resolution
    • Shutter Speed: 1/4000 to 30 sec. in steps of 1/3 EV
    • Dust Sensor Cleaning Unit: Image sensor cleaning, Airflow Control System, Image Dust Off reference data (optional Capture NX 2 software required)
    • In-Camera Image Editing: Trim, D-Lighting, Image Overlay, Filter Effects, Small Pic, Monochrome, Colour Balance, NEF (RAW) Processing, Quick retouch, Straighten, Distortion Control, Fisheye, Red-eye Correction, Perspective Control, Colour Outline, Edit Movie, Miniature Effect

Not only do you get the camera body with this package, you get the lens, gadget bag, 8GB SD class 6 card, rechargeable Li-ion battery, battery charger, camera strap and a ViewNX 2 CD-Rom.

The reviews are also great on this item.

    Shipping is free.

(Expiry: Unknown but I find with Costco, if you want something, get it or it will be gone)

Sony Canada: Sneak Peek @ Boxing Week Deals Starting December 25th Online

Posted by on December 23, 2012 at 5:00 PM

Sony Canada: Sneak Peek @ Boxing Week Deals Starting December 25th Online

Sony Canada has given us a sneak peek at their boxing week sales starting on December 25th online and December 26th in-stores.  Sale will be for a limited time only while quantities last.

This wonderful 55” Bravia LED HX750 Internet HDTV is currently $2099.99 and will be only $1599.99 starting Christmas day.  I did find it at Samys.com for $1498, but that is after mail in rebate.  Without rebate it’s $2098.  It is also at Calibex.com for $2631.99.  I like this deal much better. You get the sale price right away with no mail in rebates. This TV has 3D in full HD, built in Wi Fi, Sony entertainment network, skype and so much more.

They are also advertising this Ultra Compact Palm Size Digital camera that is $249.99 for $199.99 during the sale.  I found this on sale at Amazon.com for $224.99 and that was the next lowest price I could find anywhere for this camera.  This is available in black, silver or pink and has tons of great features.

I also saw these Digital Noise Cancelling Headphones that are $199.99 regularly and during sale will be only $89.99. I found these for $160 on Nextag.com and $193.95 on Amazon.com, so this deal is truly awesome, but this expires on January 3rd 2013.

Remember this is a sneak peek, so there will be more. For more Boxing Week deals take a look at the Bargainmoose Boxing Day dashboard.

Shipping: Free for standard delivery to most areas.

FutureShop.ca: Canon T4i w/ 18-55mm Lens, Bag, and 16GB SDHC Card + More Cameras on Sale!

Posted by on December 15, 2012 at 4:00 AM

    FutureShop.ca: Canon T4i w/ 18 55mm Lens, Bag, and 16GB SDHC Card + More Cameras on Sale!

Future Shop is sick of you taking it’s picture with flash bulbs. It’s getting embarrassing and it wants you to get a new camera. I know it’s hard to part with ol’ sparky so they’ll be giving you a sweet deal on an awesome camera and all the accessories.

This bundle is normally $969.99 but you save $290. That means you’re only out $679.99 for the whole bundle! Not bad. A lot of people have been talking about this camera. It’s a good camera and the price is right. It’s perfect for a prosumer. Most people aren’t going out to get a Canon 5D  Mark III at around $3000 but there are people who have moved beyond a $200 point and shoot.

    It comes with:

    • Canon Rebel T4i 18MP DSLR Camera With 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II Lens Kit
    • Digital SLR Lowepro Bag
    • SanDisk Extreme 16GB SDHC Class 10 Memory Card

There are a lot of uses for a camera like this beyond your traditional touristy/sight seeing/family photography. Video for instance. There are a lot of people who are doing video work with DSLRs nowadays. I know there was an entire episode of House, “Help Me”, the season six finale (great episode), and some parts of season seven were shot using a Canon 5D Mark II. Obviously you wouldn’t want to shoot House on a T4i but if you’re doing some low budget/amateur stuff, it’s be great.

And if this camera isn’t your thing, there are tons of cameras on sale at FutureShop, right now!
