Walmart Canada: Huggies & Pampers Super Packs Only $24

Walmart Canada: Huggies & Pampers Super Packs Only $24

Walmart has all its Pampers super packs on sale for $23.97 from $29.97 in all sizes.

Diapers are one expense I’d love to live without. I’m getting so close with my youngest son now only wearing them for bed, but I think those days are numbered too. It is always nice when you can find a sale on diapers, and with this sale you’ll save $6 a pack, so it might be time to stock up.

All of the different styles of diapers are the same price ($23.97) right now including:

  • Pampers Cruisers – my choice for active boys
  • Pampers Baby Dry
  • Pampers Swaddlers – for new ones
  • Pampers Extra Protection
  • Huggies Little Movers slip ons
  • Huggies Overnites
  • Huggies Pure & Natural – with fewer inks
  • Huggies Little Snugglers – for new ones

The wipes are also on sale for both Huggies and Pampers. I loved Pampers diapers, but did not like their wipes. Huggies was the wipe for me!

Because this is Walmart, shipping is free, so stock up on as many boxes as you’d like.

Walmart Canada Online-Only Blowout: Huge Savings On Baby Items

Walmart Canada Online Only Blowout: Huge Savings On Baby Items

Walmart is having an online-only sale on baby items including cribs and diapers. If you are expecting, check out the awesome deals at Walmart online.

Walk into any baby furniture store and you’ll see a huge array of gorgeous cribs, and your emotions will get the best of you imagining that crib in your baby’s nursery. Take a look at the price tag of upwards of $1000 or more and your emotions might turn to defeat, anger or disgust. Babies are crazy expensive, and one way to save is not to buy the solid oak sleigh crib. As long as it is a good quality, durable crib, your baby will do just fine in it. All three of my boys slept in a hand-me-down crib, which originally cost my brother-in-law a pretty penny for his one child. It fell apart towards the end of my third child’s tenure in it, which tells you money doesn’t always ensure durability.

This Stork Craft Coventry fixed side convertible crib in cognac looks good and has the ability to be a day bed or toddler bed as well. Guess how much? Only $80! Was $137.

Totally a basic white crib, but if you are a minimalist or have some cute bedding, make baby the focus of the room, not the crib, and pay only $40 for this Stork Craft Erin fixed side crib in white. Was $77.

Diapers are pretty much a necessity in the first few years of baby’s life, unless you practice elimination communication, which I would love to have done, but no way had the willpower. Huggies are a good brand of diapers, although in my opinion, better for girls and kids who are “light pee-ers”. Get over $3 off depending on size and pay only $25 for a large box.

Free shipping!

Walmart Canada: Amazing Deals on Clearance Baby Items Online

Walmart Canada: Amazing Deals on Clearance Baby Items Online

Walmart Canada is having a huge clearance event with so many items on for really low prices including many baby items.

When you have a child in diapers, like I do, you are always on the search for cheap diapers. Walmart Canada has Huggies diapers and wipes on clearance, saving you money. When it comes to wipes, Huggies outperforms all other brands. And when I say all, I mean all. Over my many years of wiping bottoms, I’ve tested out about a gazillion different brands of diapers and wipes. Huggies is the only brand of wipes I use for the simple fact that they are thick enough to not need to use 12, and they wipe easily. Some wipes tend to get stuck and then you get your fingers in there and it is a big mess.

These Huggies Natural Care wipes (184 pk) are a steal at only $7.99. I price matched other stores and they averaged $11.99.

This smaller pack of One and Done refreshing wipes is only $3.83, price matched at up to $5.99.

This large box (and the best value in my opinion because you know you are going to use them) of Soft Skin wipes is only $14, price matched at $21.99.

So, just to confuse you, when it came to diapers, Pampers is actually the brand I like best. I’ve heard that Pampers are better for boys, Huggies for girls, but since I only have boys, that’s all I know. My oldest son was the type who would soak right through his diaper so the Cruisers were better for him, but my other two only needed the cheaper Baby Dry diapers. The Cruisers super pack is on clearance for only $27.67, price matched at $31.99.

If you child is starting to potty train, these Cool Alert training pants are great in teaching them that it gets cold when they pee in their pants, reinforcing the notion to pee in the toilet instead. Now only $15, price matched at $20.99.

These items qualify for free shipping depending on your destination.

(Expiry: While quantities last and I think these items will sell out quick)

What Diapering system is cheaper? Cloth or Disposable?

What Diapering system is cheaper? Cloth or Disposable?

Today, we’re sharing a guest post from the pen of Steven Zussino, co-founder of GroceryAlerts.ca, the Canadian website specializing in grocery coupons and Canadian flyer deals. Steve is going to talk about the cost of cloth diapers versus disposables – a very important decision when you bring a new one into the world! I personally went for disposables for my little girl, though I’m definitely considering re-usable diapers the next time round. What Diapering system is cheaper? Cloth or Disposable?

Over to Stevie!

I became a dad in April this year and one of the first decisions after my daughter was born was what diapering system we were going to use, cloth or disposable diapers.

After a long discussion with my wife about the costs of either system, I decided to take all the variables (cleaning costs, electricity, washer/dryer, and water costs) and looks at diaper use estimates from several sources to come up with an estimate on what diapering system is less expensive. So I decided to build a cloth vs disposable diaper calculator.

The calculator makes several assumptions and does not look at cost of optional accessories like a Diaper Genie, Diaper pail/wet bag/tote bag, wet/dry bags, Diaper Pail Liners, liners, doublers, inserts, or a Diaper Sprayer or disposable diaper removal costs.

The calculator assumes that when using cloth diapers that a wash will be required every 15 diaper changes.

I wanted to share the calculator results using 2 scenarios, 1 family that lives in a house and another family that rents an apartment with no access to a washer/dryer.

The Smith Family:

The Smith family lives in a 3 bedroom house and has a washer/dryer. They just gave birth to a baby boy, Billy, and estimate that he will be toilet-trained by 30 months. They have decided to go with the Bum Genius cloth diapers brand. The initial cost would be $399.

They pay only 8 cents per kWh and the laundry detergent costs only $.10 per load (buying at Costco). They also have a newer Energy Star rated washing machine.

Using the calculator, the total cumulative cost is $656.76.

The Burns Family:

The Burns family lives in a 2 bedroom apartment and has to do laundry at a laundromat. They have given birth to a baby girl, Ashley and plan on having her toilet-trained by 30 months. They have also decided to use the same Bum Genius brand.

They do not have the room in their apartment to dry their clothes so they must pay $2 per load to wash and dry the diapers.

They found a frugal recipe to make their own laundry soap and pay only $.05 per load.

Using the calculator, the total cumulative cost of using cloth diapers is $2220.02.

Now, let’s see if both families decided to use disposables how much they would cost.

We will assume that each family uses standard name-brand disposable diapers (Huggies, Pampers) at a cost of $.20 per diaper. Cheaper generic diapers and more expensive natural diapers are also available.

Using the calculator, the cost of disposables would be $1348.20.

Conclusion

It is interesting to see that the even though the initial cost of the cloth diapers are quite high, it is usually less expensive over time to use cloth diapers over disposable diapers. Additionally, what the calculator doesn’t take a look at is the resale or reuse of the cloth diapers. If the cloth diapers are used for another child or sold after their use, the savings would be greater.

Having a child can be expensive, however there are many issues that complicate the decision to use disposable or cloth diapers and for many people it is a personal choice.

Walmart.Ca: Diapers Now Available Online & Free Shipping

Walmart.ca is now selling diapers through its online store and these big boxes will even ship to your house for free!

The big names in diapers like Huggies and Pampers are available at Walmart’s great low prices. I did a quick price comparison and Pampers Baby Dry Diapers Econo Pack Size 3 – 222 count are at Walmart for $36.97 compared to $59.99 at well.ca.

When diapers go on sale, it’s often stock up time. By ordering online, you don’t have to worry about if stock is available, waiting in line and carrying all those big diaper boxes home!
