Free Vanilla Ice Cream Cone @ Dairy Queen (EXPIRED)

Free Vanilla Ice Cream Cone @ Dairy Queen (EXPIRED)

*** BUMP – tomorrow!!! ***

During these weather conditions, Ice Cream might be the last thing on your mind. Don’t put it out of your mind completely though, Dairy Queen Canada is celebrating their 75th Anniversary at select locations on the 16th of March 2015. During this celebration, you can get a free small vanilla ice cream cone, no purchase required.

I know I am not the only crazy person out there who enjoys a delicious ice cream cone even when the temperatures are below zero. Now you can feel less guilty about paying for a cold treat during the winter. Head over to your local Dairy Queen Canada store on the 16th of March and you can celebrate their 75th Anniversary with them by enjoying a free classic small vanilla ice cream cone. While these cones may be just a tease for some of us, you can always purchase your favourite cold treat afterwards while you are there.

There are a few catches to this freebie offer from Dairy Queen Canada though. First, this offer is only valid at participating locations on the 16th of March 2015. To ensure your Dairy Queen location is participating, it wouldn’t hurt to call ahead. Second, you will be limited to one small vanilla cone per customer, with no purchase required. That means if you go with a friend, you will both need to order a free cone in separate transactions.

In previous experience, Free Cone Day at Dairy Queen can get pretty busy. Be prepared for a little bit of wait time to receive your free cone. I have found in the past, if you show up earlier in the day, you won’t have to wait as long for your free treat. I’ve got this promo marked on my calendar, that’s for sure.

Dairy Queen Canada: Miracle Treat Day

Dairy Queen Canada: Miracle Treat Day

Today is Miracle Treat Day! That means that today you can indulge yourself in ice cream and feel really good about it.

You might be wondering what all this means. Well, Miracle Treat Day is where all of the proceeds from your Blizzard purchase at Dairy Queen are donated to the Children’s Miracle Network. The Children’s Miracle Network raises funds for children’s hospitals all over the world, with 14 in Canada. Your donation (of buying a blizzard) will stay in your local community and will go to the closest Children’s Hospital near you. I’m not 100% sure, but I think I remember going to Miracle Treat Day once and the hospital to which the donations will go was listed in the store. It looks like there is a children’s hospital located in every province that is part of this network.

In case you aren’t sure what a blizzard is, I’m sorry you’ve missed out all these years, but I’ll tell you about its delicious goodness. I’m pretty picky with my ice cream and am usually willing to pay top dollar for the best ice cream (like $6 for those little tiny Haagen Daaz containers). I absolutely love blizzards. They are soft serve ice cream mixed with whatever toppings you choose. Unlike a McDonalds McFlurry, I find you get the toppings mixed right in all the way to the bottom. On a McFlurry, the bottom is just ice cream and disappointing.

My favourite blizzard is skor and oreo together, but there are so many flavours and flavour combinations, like oreo cheesecake, chips ahoy, reese peanut butter cup, choco cherry love and s’mores.

What flavour will you get?

DairyQueen Canada: 50% off Select Items for Customer Appreciation Day

DairyQueen Canada: 50% off Select Items for Customer Appreciation Day

You get no respect around here. No one appreciates you. Except BargainMoose and Dairy Queen during their 50% off Customer Appreciation days!

What better time to appreciate the customers of your ice cream shop than in the middle of January! They are either purposely doing customer appreciation day at the coldest possible time because sales are down and they want to get people in to stores or they are doing it because they want to push the fast food side of things. Likely it’s both. Get people in the store and have them buy hot fast food instead of ice cream. Whatever, doesn’t matter, it’s still a great time to get some hot eats and/or cool treats, as it were.

The deal says it’s participating location and select items. I don’t know what items are included so if you’re really jonesin’ for a Peanut Buster Parfait, you might want to call down to your local restaurant and make sure they are part of the 50% off. Also, I know it may expire in some locations today but it seems like most locations are having it on the 25th.

Just randomly I want to tell you a fantastic DQ story. You know how when they make a Blizzard they stick the spoon in it and flip it upside down to show you how thick it is? Well I was at the mall once and the girl made a milkshake, stuck a straw in it and flipped it upside down. The thing, of course, poured everywhere and she just stood there looking at the mess. I guess she had made so many Blizzards that day, she just did the move on instinct. Ooops.

Do you have any great fast food stories? Let me know in the comments below!

Dairy Queen & Orange Julius Canada: Free Smoothies With Gift Card Purchase

Dairy Queen & Orange Julius Canada: Free Smoothies With Gift Card Purchase

Both Dairy Queen and Orange Julius have the same deal on right now that is worth heading in for.  At both stores, you will get a free premium fruit smoothie with purchase of a $15 gift card.

This deal is the same at both stores.  You will get a free small Premium Fruit Smoothie when you buy a $15 gift card at either store.  This is a perfect gift idea for the holidays, and I usually buy a lot of smaller amount gift cards like these for stocking stuffers.  I also like drinking smoothies year round, so getting a free one just for buying a gift card I already wanted is a bonus.

The smoothies are premium real fruit, so they are both healthy and very tasty.

If you are looking for other deals like this, check out the Subway gift card deal we already posted about.

Cool Off This Summer With Hot Ice Cream Deals

Bargainmoose has found some juicy ice cream deals for you! Take the family out after school this week, mainly because it is so affordable and totally delectable!

First of all, Marble Slab has a great deal going on where if you bring a banana in today or tomorrow, they’ll make you a banana split for only $5. This banana split has the works too! You’ll get three scoops of your choice of fresh ice cream, three toppings of your choice, plus whipped cream, sundae nuts and a cherry.

I love Marble Slab because I’m just a candy in my ice cream kind of girl, but also because I love the great flavours they have like birthday cake, coconut or maple. I think we’ll be heading there tonight.

Once that deal expires, you may still be hungering for more ice cream. Well,  you can check out Baskin Robbins cones for the community event on June 1st. You’ll get $0.31 scoops, with a three scoop maximum per person. This is only at participating locations and tax is extra. It happens from 12 to 5 that day.

If Blizzards are your thing, you simply have to sign up for Dairy Queen’s fan newsletter and you’ll get six buy one, get one free coupons.

Bargainmoosers, what’s your favourite ice cream combination?

Dairy Queen Canada: Customer Appreciation Days

Dairy Queen Canada: Customer Appreciation Days

Save on sweet treats from Dairy Queen Canada during Customer Appreciaton Days across Canada during the last part of January.

On 25th January, 2012,  the DQ in my city is offering 1/2 price cake and novelties and I found the same deal in Burlington, ON on 28th January, 2012.

From the link above, just enter in your postal code to find the Dairy Queen location and stores holding Customer Appreciation events in January.

I love Dairy Queen ice cream cakes with that layer of fudge and chocolate crunch in the ice cream. So good! I also like the snack size Blizzards, still big enough to share though, the ice cream treat is very filling.

Expires: various dates in January, 2012

Dairy Queen Blizzard Fan Club: Join And Get 6 BOGO Free Blizzard Coupons Yearly

When you join the Dairy Queen Blizzard Fan Club, you’ll get six coupons throughout the year for BOGO Free Blizzards. So, sign up and enjoy your treats!

About one hour after I signed up, I received an email with my first coupon. The coupon states that when you buy a Medium Blizzard Treat, you can get a new Mini, small or medium Blizzard for free. I assume that they’ll send out the other 5 coupons throughout the year. They also included a coupon for $3 off a 8-10″ Blizzard cake.

I haven’t tried the new Mini Blizzard yet, I’ll think I’ll have to try one of those with my coupon! Cookie dough blizzard is still my favourite!
