Cheap Gas @ Canadian Tire GasBar!

Cheap Gas @ Canadian Tire GasBar!

If you live near a Canadian Tire gasbar, here’s a tip on how to save a few percent on your fuel costs. Firstly, create an account at the Canadian cashback site, Dealguild.com. Use it to make gift card purchases through Canadian Tire. For all your online Canadian Tire purchases, you get 3.5% cashback.

You can buy the gift cards in denominations of $10, $25, $50 and $100. Once you receive the gift cards in the mail, take them to your local Canadian Tire Gas Bar and use them to buy gas! The gift cards don’t have expiry dates, so you don’t have to worry about using them up before a certain date. They’re also delivered for free, so you don’t have to worry about shipping costs at all. Additionally, you get Canadian Tire money every time you fill up your tank, so this could mean an extra 10-40 cents, depending on how much you buy. Another point to note is that if you use a cashback credit card for your purchases, you will also get the bonus cashback on it!

I know a few % isn’t much, but it really does add up! For example, if you spend $2000 a year on fuel, saving 3.5% means an extra $70 in your pocket. While it’s not huge, it’s better than nothing!

I don’t drive very much at all, but if you are in a 2 car family, this deal could really save you quite a few bucks.

Cents For Songs @ Dell Canada!

Cents For Songs @ Dell Canada!

I was quite surprised to see that Dell Canada is expanding into the downloadable music industry! Dell is selling various music bundles, and you can buy credits for downloading tunes. You can download mp3s or WMA files.

    Here’s the deal:

I think it’s a pretty good idea. Say you want to buy a few single songs, but not a whole album.

It would even be good for downloading whole albums – U2s new album “No line on the Horizon” is $13.99 @ Amazon Canada. It contains 11 songs. Say you had purchase the 30 credit bundle, then the album would only cost you $7.37 from Dell. Let’s try another example. The Killers “Day & Age” is $12.99 on Amazon, containing 10 songs. Use your cheap credits, and download it for only $6.70.

It doesn’t sound too complicated either. You buy your bundle, and they email you a PIN code. Then you go through checkout with your chosen songs in your cart, and redeem the PIN there.

And as far as I know, you should be able to get 1.5% cashback too.

I have quite a nice little mp3 collection. At one point, I ripped all my CDs to mp3, and put them all away in storage. Even when people buy me new CDs nowadays, I just save them as mp3 and listen to them in that way. The last album I received was Katy Perry, One Of The Boys. It’s been blasting from my speakers for a week or two now. Cents For Songs @ Dell Canada!

Zip.ca DVD Rentals: 2 Weeks Free & Up To $14 Free Cashback!

Posted by Anna Waters on November 23, 2008 at 5:38 PM

Zip.ca DVD Rentals: 2 Weeks Free & Up To $14 Free Cashback! If you’d like to try out a new online DVD rental service, consider using Zip.ca. They offer online rentals from as low as $5.95 per month. All movie rentals come with free shipping too, you never have to worry about that.

They have a variety of packages to choose from. Even if you go for the most basic film rental package and get only 2 DVDs a month, any extra DVDs you want only cost an extra $2.49 each – which is still less than you’d pay for movie rental at your local BlockBuster store.

Here’s a bit of info on the DVD club:

During your free trial (available for first time members only), you’ll enjoy full access to our library of over 72,000 DVD titles including classics, documentaries, TV series and new releases. Looking for hi def movies? We’ve got Blu-ray and HD DVD. With free shipping, no late fees, no due dates and home delivery, Zip is the hassle free way to rent movies.

You can cancel the service at any point – free of charge.

Here’s what really sweetens this deal – you can also get cashback from Canadian rebate site, DealGuild.com. You get $7 cashback if you do the 2 week free trial, but if you stay with them for a further 2 weeks, you get $14 cashback in total. If you were planning on renting movies anyway, you might as well do this and claim the free cashback.

Think of it like this – take the 2 week free trial, then pay for the first month, on the smallest package – this is costing you $5.95 for 6 weeks of online movie rental. PLUS you’d be getting $14 cashback, so you’d technically be up about $8 on the deal!! Sweet!

    Thanks for the image >Fussel<.
