Amazon Canada: Canon EOS Rebel T3 Only $393.87

Posted by on May 21, 2013 at 11:00 AM

Amazon Canada: Canon EOS Rebel T3 Only $393.87

Amazon Canada has the Canon EOS Rebel T3 12.2 MP digital SLR camera with EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5 – 5.6 DC III zoom lens on for only $393.87, regularly $529.99. I price compared and could not find this camera for less than $400 at comparable Canadian retailers.

If I had $400 right now, I would hands down by this camera. I’ve had my Nikon DSLR for over eight years now and I definitely see a difference in photo quality with the newer cameras. This camera has high image quality and speed with its DIGIC 4 Image Processor. You have the option of shooting from as low as 100 ISO all the way up to 6400 ISO. There is a built-in flash and an enhanced metering system.

This reliable DSLR with 9-point AF system has high precision and can be worked in many different modes. HD movies are a breeze and look good when shot with this camera.

The reviews are extremely favourable for this system, with over 40 reviewers giving it the highest rating. Like I said, I’d buy this today if I had the money, but I’m going to save up and watch for a sale like this again. Hey, maybe Dad would like something like this?

Get free super saver shipping from Amazon for this purchase.

The Source Canada Coupon: Free Shipping on Cameras

The Source Canada Coupon: Free Shipping on Cameras

The Source Canada has a great sale on cameras right now. On top of that, they have a great coupon code offering free shipping on cameras.

Click here to shop @ The Source Canada

    • Coupon Code: CAM2631
    • Discount: Free Shipping on Cameras
    • Expiry: Unknown

There are some good deals on DSLR cameras by Canon and Nikon. Use the ID # listed below to find the products on The Source. Here are a couple of deals I though were decent – both Nikon:

    • #2546308 – NIKON D3100 14MP DIGITAL SLR CAMERA-BUNDLE – Originally $1029.98 | Now $639.98
    • #2516308 – NIKON D3100 14MP DIGITAL SLR CAMERA – Originally $699.99 | Now $449.99

The bundle includes an extra lens which I have found imperative… it is a 55 – 200 mm lens. The lens the basic passage comes with is only the 18 – 55mm. I think both lenses are necessary if you are getting into photography or just wanting to document your vacation in a meaningful way.

We will have all other Source Canada coupons posted up on the Bargainmoose coupon forum for easy shopping access.

Amazon Canada: Canon PowerShot A2300 Was $150 | Now $89

Posted by on March 11, 2013 at 6:00 PM

Amazon Canada: Canon PowerShot A2300 Was $150 | Now $89

Amazon Canada has an excellent sale on a Canon 6192B005 PowerShot A2300 IS 16.0 MP Digital Camera with 5x Digital Image Stabilized Zoom and 28mm Wide-Angle Lens with 720p HD Video Recording. It was originally $149.99 and is on sale for $89 in two colours.

    Features:

    • 16.0MP with Digic 4 image processor
    • Digital IS
    • Smart AUTO with 32 predefined Settings
    • 720p Movies a dedicated Movie Button
    • 5x Optical zoom 28 mm Wide-Angle Lens

I did some price comparison and the closest to this price was Henry’s and Canon who had theirs on sale for $99.99. The rest (like Dell) had the camera listed for $129 or higher.

For a camera that shoots video as well as takes pictures with a 5x zoom – this is a fantastic price.

Free shipping on orders of $25.

FutureShop.ca: Canon T4i w/ 18-55mm Lens, Bag, and 16GB SDHC Card + More Cameras on Sale!

Posted by on December 15, 2012 at 4:00 AM

    FutureShop.ca: Canon T4i w/ 18 55mm Lens, Bag, and 16GB SDHC Card + More Cameras on Sale!

Future Shop is sick of you taking it’s picture with flash bulbs. It’s getting embarrassing and it wants you to get a new camera. I know it’s hard to part with ol’ sparky so they’ll be giving you a sweet deal on an awesome camera and all the accessories.

This bundle is normally $969.99 but you save $290. That means you’re only out $679.99 for the whole bundle! Not bad. A lot of people have been talking about this camera. It’s a good camera and the price is right. It’s perfect for a prosumer. Most people aren’t going out to get a Canon 5D  Mark III at around $3000 but there are people who have moved beyond a $200 point and shoot.

    It comes with:

    • Canon Rebel T4i 18MP DSLR Camera With 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II Lens Kit
    • Digital SLR Lowepro Bag
    • SanDisk Extreme 16GB SDHC Class 10 Memory Card

There are a lot of uses for a camera like this beyond your traditional touristy/sight seeing/family photography. Video for instance. There are a lot of people who are doing video work with DSLRs nowadays. I know there was an entire episode of House, “Help Me”, the season six finale (great episode), and some parts of season seven were shot using a Canon 5D Mark II. Obviously you wouldn’t want to shoot House on a T4i but if you’re doing some low budget/amateur stuff, it’s be great.

And if this camera isn’t your thing, there are tons of cameras on sale at FutureShop, right now!

    Blacks.ca: Canon T4i + 18 – 55mm Lens For Only $679.99 (Save $220)

Posted by on November 18, 2012 at 2:00 AM

Blacks.ca: Canon T4i + 18 55mm Lens For Only $679.99 (Save $220)Blacks Canada wants you to take better Christmas pictures and still have money left over to buy gifts to take pictures of.

The MSRP on this is $899.99 and I’ve found it elsewhere for around $800, give or take $30 but Black’s has it for $679.99.

Bargainmooser Launa emailed in to add this:

I was in Blacks last night at WEM and strangely enough I am in the market of an entry level DSLR.  What they told me is that the T4i actually has an in store rebate which brings the price down to $600.

Maybe worth a trip in-store to check that out too!! Thanks Launa.

I’m not a photographer. Not even a little bit. I do know a bit about cameras though and the T4i is a good camera. It’s especially good as a starter camera. It’s isn’t feature packed (read:expensive) but it has enough in it to make it a solid piece of equipment. The lens it comes with is a good general purpose lens that you can use to shoot most things. Of course, being a DSLR you can get more lenses if you want to do some wide angle shooting or macro photography.

Here are the pertinent specs of the camera:

    • 18.0 Megapixel CMOS (APS-C) sensor, 14-bit A/D conversion, ISO 100-12800; expandable to 25600 (H) for shooting from bright to dim light and high performance DIGIC 5 Image Processor
    • High speed continuous shooting up to 5.0 fps allows you to capture all the action
    • Improved autofocus performance with a 9-point all cross-type AF system (including a high-precision dual-cross f/2.8 center point), and new Hybrid CMOS AF increases autofocus speed when shooting photos and movies in Live View
    • Enhanced EOS Full HD Movie mode with Movie Servo AF for continuous focus tracking of moving subjects, manual exposure control and multiple frame rates (1080: 30p (29.97) / 24p (23.976) / 25p, 720: 60p (59.94) / 50p, 480: 30p (29.97) / 25p)
    • New 3.0-inch Vari-angle Touch Screen Clear View LCD monitor II (approximately 1,040,000 dots) with smudge-resistant coating features multi-touch operation and Touch AF for an easy and intuitive experience, flexible positioning, and clear viewing even when outdoors

Another point is the video. As you can see in the middle of all that camera jargon, this camera shoots 1080p video at up to 30fps. Another nail in the coffin of the stand-alone consumer camcorder.

Amazon.ca: Up to 57% Off Select All-in-One Printers (Save $130)

Posted by on August 15, 2012 at 2:00 PM

Amazon.ca: Up to 57% Off Select All in One Printers (Save $130)

Amazon Canada has some great All-in-one printer deals for back to school. They are all inkjet printers and you can get them with an assortment of features and prices. Something for everyone on Bargainmoose!

    There are five printers available:

As usual since these are all over $25 they ship for free from Amazon.

Everyone seems to be putting printers on sale but this is the only sale I’ve seen recently (that I remember, at least) that only has all-in-one printers. My current printer is a $30 throw-away Lexmark printer that I’m pretty sure has been sitting in disuse for so long it’s completely clogged and useless. The cartridges probably cost more than a new printer.

My dad’s printer, on the other hand, is an all-in-one. It’s a pretty old printer and he almost never uses is except for the occasional print job but from time to time he has the need to scan something and it’s great to have the scanner feature available. It’d be the same for the fax and photo printing for a lot of people as well. I suspect that not everyone needs a fax every day but when you need it, it’s great to have it.

Now this sale’s primary purpose, I suppose, is back to school. All the stuff I mentioned earlier (fax, scanner, copier, etc…) are great features to have, especially packed into one small unit. When I was in college I more than once had to go from my place to the school to use a printer or pay them 10 cents to send a fax. I wish I had one of these.

So no matter what your price range or use case, there is something here for you. Check it out and pick one up while the deal is hot!

    Canon Powershot A3400 16MP Digital Camera Only $134.99 @ Dell.ca

    Canon Powershot A3400 16MP Digital Camera Only $134.99 @ Dell.ca

I spotted a good deal on the Canon Powershot A3400 16MP Digital Camera in the grads deal section on Dell.ca. It’s down from $189.99 to only $149.99 – plus if you then apply the Dell coupon code 7?C?K6$TVWFQWQ, it will take another $15 off the price, making it $134.99 with free shipping!

If we do a little price comparing with other Canadian online retailers, we can find this exact model of digital camera for $160 at Blacks, $170 at Newegg, $190 at Amazon, $190 at Sears, $160 at The Source, $190 at The Shopping Channel – so we’re definitely on to a winning price from Dell.ca. In fact, I’d say that’s a pretty hot price.

As for the camera itself, there are a few things we could highlight from the specification:

    • 16.0 Megapixel Image Sensor
    • 5x Optical Zoom
    • 3.0-inch touch panel LCD
    • 720p HD video

Before I got my current Nikon DSLR camera, I used a Canon point-and-shoot camera, very similar to this one. I have a very good opinion on Canon as a camera brand, I think they make really good quality products.

Up to 34% off Select Canon Cameras and Camcorders at Amazon.ca

Bargainmoose doesn’t only love you, it loves your family too. That’s why we’re bringing you some sweet deals on Canon cameras and camcorders to capture those precious family moments at up to 34% off. Awwwwwwww!

There are only a couple of items here but they come in a bunch of colours. A couple of the better deals  are on:

Canon has been around making optical products since the 1930′s (under the name Kwanon until the 1960′s when they changed to Canon) so needless to say, they know what they are doing in this field.

A lot of photographers really swear by Canon’s high end dSLRs so why wouldn’t a general consumer use one too? I even bought my wife one of their digital ELPHs about four years ago and the pictures still hold up. The camera itself is fine too. My sister-in-law has actually had one for even longer than we have and hers still works too.

Canon Vixia Camcorder Deals @ Amazon.ca

Posted by on March 28, 2012 at 4:00 PM

Canon Vixia Camcorder Deals @ Amazon.ca

I was recently talking to a friend who was mentioning he wants to find a cheap HD camcorder to do some videos at the Calgary Expo so I went hunting for deals. I found a few nice deals on Amazon.ca.

Looks like they have the Canon Vixia camcorders on sale for up to 29% off. As usual with items sold by Amazon Canada, they have free shipping on anything over $25. Of course these being camcorders they are all over $25.

There are ten Cameras on sale ranging from low end SD to fairly high end full HD. Some of the Cameras aren’t actually different models, they are just different colours. Technically, I guess there are only six cameras on sale since two of the models come in three colours. I’m not going to list every camera but here are a couple of highlights:

Canon FS400 Flash Memory Camcorder with 41x Advanced Zoom and SDXC Card Slot – $199 (Regular: $279.99) This model comes in red, blue and silver.

Canon VIXIA HF M41 Full HD Camcorder with HD CMOS Pro and 32GB Internal Flash Memory in black - $679 (Regular – $799.99)

I think the real deal in the bunch is the $329 (Regular $429.99) Canon VIXIA HF R20 Full HD Camcorder with 8GB Internal Flash Memory which comes in red, silver and black. You get full HD AND 8GB of internal storage at a good price.

So if you happen to be a reporter for a website and are wandering around Calgary Expo, Harbour Con-Fusion or Hal-Con, you can bring along a camcorder for a great price and you just might happen to see me or one of my cohorts wandering with the same gear.

Of course, the gear isn’t nerd festival specific but what else would you do with high tech electronic equipment? Record the birth of your first child, make a video log of the first time you walk into the first house you buy with your significant other, remember the look on your parents face when you tell them you’re getting married?! Pffft, is Patrick Stewart gonna be at any of those? I don’t think so! He will be at Calgary Expo though so put on your Vulcan ears or Klingon head ridges and get over there!

    Canon PowerShot ELPH 300 Only $149.88 (& FREE 4GB Free Memory Card) @ Sears.ca

    Canon PowerShot ELPH 300 Only $149.88 (& FREE 4GB Free Memory Card) @ Sears.ca

On Sears.ca right now, they’re offering a really nice deal on the Canon PowerShot ELPH 300 digital camera – it’s only $149.88, plus it comes with a free 4GB SD memory card, and you’d get free shipping too.

Let’s do a price comparison for the Canon PowerShot ELPH 300: $155 @ Amazon, $230 @ Best Buy, $170 @ Henrys, $220 @ Future Shop. So we’ve got a great price from Sears, but the clincher is that you’re getting a free 4GB memory card to get you going.

As for the Canon PowerShot ELPH 300 digital camera itself, it gets favourable reviews for a point and shoot. On Amazon for example, the camera receives 16 five star ratings. This quick sentence from Barb sums it all up:

Great compact camera that is easy to use! Pictures compare to my digital SLR model!

If you want to know some information about the specification, there is no extra info on the Sears product page, but you can find all the details here on Canon’s website. Friefly, it’s a 12MP digital camera, with 5x optical zoom, and it takes 1080p HD videos.
